Neither Victims nor Executioners
The Century of Fear
“The seventeenth century was the century of mathematics. The eighteenth century was the century of physical science, and the nineteenth the century of biology. Our twentieth century is the century of fear. Fear isn't a science, you may be thinking. Well, to begin with, science is no stranger to fear, since the latest theoretical advances have led science to repudiate itself, and since its practical applications threaten the entire earth with destruction. Furthermore, even if fear can't be considered a science in itself, there is no question that it is a method.
Indeed, what is most striking about the world we live in is first of all the fact that most people, broadly speaking, are deprived of any future (other than believers of one sort or another). No worthwhile life is possible without projection onto the future, without promise of development and progress. To live with one's back to a wall is a dog's life. But people of my generation and of the generation just now taking its place in factories and classrooms have lived and are living more and more like dogs.
Of course this is not the first time that people have faced a materially obstructed future. In the past, however, they used to overcome obstacles by speaking out or shouting out their discontent. They appealed to a different set of values, on which they pinned their hopes. Today, no one is talking (apart from those who repeat themselves), because the world seems to us to be led by forces blind and deaf to warnings, advice, and supplications. Something in us succumbed to recent experience. That something is man's eternal confidence, which always fostered the belief that we could elicit human reactions from other human beings by speaking to them in the language of humanity. We have witnessed lying, humiliation, killing, deportation, and torture, and in each instance it was impossible to persuade the people who were doing these things not to do them, because they were sure of themselves and because there is no way of persuading an abstraction, or, to put it another way, the representative of an ideology.
The long dialogue among human beings has now come to an end. And of course a man who cannot be persuaded is a man who makes others afraid. So that alongside people who stopped speaking because they deemed it pointless to try, a vast conspiracy of silence has arisen and continues to spread, a conspiracy accepted by those who quake in fear and who find every reason in the world to hide their quaking from themselves, and encouraged by those who find it in their interest to do so. "You must not talk about the purge of artists in Russia, because that would play into the hands of the reactionaries.” "You must keep silent about the British and American decision to keep Franco in power because to talk about it would play into the hands of communism." As I said earlier, fear is a method.
Between the very general fear of a war for which everyone is preparing and the very specific fear of lethal ideologies, it is therefore quite true that we live in terror. We live in terror because persuasion is no longer possible, because man has been delivered entirely into the hands of history and can no longer turn toward that part of himself which is as true as the historic part, and which he discovers when he confronts the beauty of the world and of people's faces. And because we live in a world of abstraction, a world of bureaucracy and machinery, of absolute ideas and of messianism without subtlety. We gasp for air among people who believe they are absolutely right, whether it be in their machines or their ideas. And for all who cannot live without dialogue and the friendship of other human beings, this silence is the end of the world.
In order to escape from this terror, we need to be able to think and to act on the basis of our thoughts. But the problem is that terror does not create a climate conducive to thinking. My view, however, is that rather than blame our fear, we should regard it as a basic element of the situation and try to remedy it. Nothing is more important, for this affects the fate of a large number of people in Europe, people who, having had enough of violence and lies, having seen their fondest hopes dashed, and being loath to kill their fellow human beings even in order to persuade them, are equally loath to see themselves persuaded in the same manner. Yet this is the dilemma that the vast masses of Europeans face, those who belong to no party or who are uncomfortable in the party they have chosen, who doubt that socialism has been achieved in Russia or liberalism in America, and yet acknowledge the right of people on both sides to assert their version of the truth while denying those same people the right to impose that truth by murder, either individual or collective. Among those who wield power today, these people are without a kingdom. They will be able to gain recognition for their point of view (without necessarily securing its triumph) and reclaim their homeland only when they can consciously formulate what they want and express this in terms simple enough and strong enough to bind a range of energies. And if fear is not the right climate for proper reflection, then they must first come to terms with fear.
In order to come to terms with fear, we need to understand what it signifies and what it rejects. It signifies and rejects the same fact: a world in which murder is legitimate and human life is considered futile. Therein lies today's primary political problem. Before dealing with the rest, we have to take a position on this. Before we can build anything, we need to ask two questions: "Yes or no, directly or indirectly, do you want to be killed or assaulted? Yes or no, directly or indirectly, do you want to kill or assault?” Anyone who answers yes to these questions is automatically caught up in a web of consequences that is bound to change the way in which the problem is posed. My aim is to detail just two or three of those consequences. In the meantime, honest readers may wish to ask themselves these questions and answer them.”

how do i start to read marxist leninist/leftist stuff ? i searched on the internet but it’s super confusing lol
the most important value for me as an ML is anti-imperialism, so i guess i'll always recommend that people start with works centred on that
some suggestions below (all books should be available either on marxist.org or as pdf/epub files on libgen)
American Holocaust by David E. Stannard
about the colonization of america. not explicitly marxist, but it's probably done more to radicalize me than any other piece of writing. this is the pile of corpses capitalism is built on:
Within no more than a handful of generations following their first en counters with Europeans, the vast majority of the Western Hemisphere's native peoples had been exterminated. The pace and magnitude of their obliteration varied from place to place and from time to time, but for years now historical demographers have been uncovering, in region upon region, post-Columbian depopulation rates of between 90 and 98 percent with such regularity that an overall decline of 95 percent has become a working rule of thumb. What this means is that, on average, for every twenty natives alive at the moment of European contact-when the lands of the Americas teemed with numerous tens of millions of people-only one stood in their place when the bloodbath was over. To put this in a contemporary context, the ratio of native survivorship in the Americas following European contact was less than half of what the human survivorship ratio would be in the United States today if every single white person and every single black person died. The destruction of the Indians of the Americas was, far and away, the most massive act of genocide in the history of the world. That is why, as one historian aptly has said, far from the heroic and romantic heraldry that customarily is used to symbolize the European settlement of the Americas, the emblem most congruent with reality would be a pyramid of skulls. - David E. Stannard
2. Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism by Vladimir Lenin
Imperialism is capitalism at that stage of development at which the dominance of monopolies and finance capital is established; in which the export of capital has acquired pronounced importance; in which the division of the world among the international trusts has begun, in which the division of all territories of the globe among the biggest capitalist powers has been completed. - Vladimir Lenin
3. The Wretched of The Earth by Franz Fanon
Let us look at ourselves, if we can bear to, and see what is becoming of us. First, we must face that unexpected revelation, the strip-tease of our humanism. There you can see it, quite naked, and it’s not a pretty sight. It was nothing but an ideology of lies, a perfect justification for pillage; its honeyed words, its affectation of sensibility were only alibis for our aggressions. A fine sight they are too, the believers in non-violence, saying that they are neither executioners nor victims. Very well then; if you’re not victims when the government which you’ve voted for, when the army in which your younger brothers are serving without hesitation or remorse have undertaken race murder, you are, without a shadow of doubt, executioners. And if you chose to be victims and to risk being put in prison for a day or two, you are simply choosing to pull your irons out of the fire. But you will not be able to pull them out; they’ll have to stay there till the end. Try to understand this at any rate: if violence began this very evening and if exploitation and oppression had never existed on the earth, perhaps the slogans of non-violence might end the quarrel. But if the whole regime, even your non-violent ideas, are conditioned by a thousand-year-old oppression, your passivity serves only to place you in the ranks of the oppressors. - prefrace by Jean-Paul Sartre
4. Discourse on Colonialism by Aimé Césaire
Yes, it would be worthwhile to study clinically, in detail, the steps taken by Hitler and Hitlerism and to reveal to the very distinguished, very humanistic, very Christian bourgeois of the twentieth century that without his being aware of it, he has a Hitler inside him, that Hitler inhabits him, that Hitler is his demon, that if he rails against him, he is being inconsistent and that, at bottom, what he cannot forgive Hitler for is not crime in itself, the crime against man, it is not the humiliation of man as such, it is the crime against the white man, the humiliation of the white man, and the fact that he applied to Europe colonialist procedures which until then had been reserved exclusively for the Arabs of Algeria, the coolies of India, and the blacks of Africa I have talked a good deal about Hitler. Because he deserves it: he makes it possible to see things on a large scale and to grasp the fact that capitalist society, at its present stage, is incapable of establishing a concept of the rights of all men, just as it has proved incapable of establishing a system of individual ethics. Whether one likes it or not, at the end of the blind alley that is Europe, I mean the Europe of Adenauer, Schuman, Bidault, and a few others, there is Hitler. At the end of capitalism, which is eager to outlive its day, there is Hitler. At the end of formal humanism and philosophicrenunciation, there is Hitler - Aimé Césaire
5. Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism by Michael Parenti
probably the most accessible introduction to communism that doesn't demonize countries that have undergone—or attempted to undergo—a transitation into socalism (like the ussr, cuba, etc.)
The very concept of "revolutionary violence" is somewhat falsely cast, since most of the violence comes from those who attempt to prevent reform, not from those struggling for reform. By focusing on the violent rebellions of the downtrodden, we overlook the much greater repressive force and violence utilized by the ruling oligarchs to maintain the status quo, including armed attacks against peaceful demonstrations, mass arrests, torture, destruction of opposition organizations, suppression of dissident publications, death squad assassinations, the extermination of whole villages, and the like. - Michael Parenti

I was debating how to present this guy to everyone, but here is a small profile I made to introduce him and help you get to know him a little better:
Also, feel free to ask stuff for him, just be aware you might not get a straight answer.
Ciarán 🗡️
Tumblr media
Name: Ciarán
Meaning: “little dark one”
Alias(es): The Black Knight, The Black Horseman
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: Unknown
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance: A tall, imposing figure. His armour seems to be made of a jet black metal, but it is not identifiable. He also wears a tattered black cloak made of similarly foreign material. He lacks a head, and there appears to be simply a blue wispy flame in its place that varies in shape and intensity.
Notable Features: His weapon of choice is a shining knightly sword, (also known as an arming sword) or at least it appears to be one. He also wields a whip made of a human spine, but it tends to rest at his hip if he finds no need for it.
Personality: He is a grim and pitiless executioner, not swayed by sympathy or remorse. Still, all contacts with this being have observed that he seems to follow a chivalrous code of honour, but not one bound by good or evil. He may choose not to harm an unsuspecting person if they cross his path, but still should not be provoked. His behaviour has actually been recorded as slightly eccentric, but that is not out of the ordinary for anomalous entities. Either way, he remains aloof and foreboding.
Fun Facts:
His horse’s name is Gormlaith. Although he may often act like a cold and merciless being, he seems to dote on her.
Her breed is difficult to place. It does not seem to be of a type still alive today.
He is typically ‘felt’ or heard before he is seen, and a thick mist often accompanies him and conceals him when it is needed.
Any sightings unrelated to a killing were usually reported near a graveyard or bog, or occasionally an abbey. Strangely, he seems to particularly prefer places blooming with life. Sometimes flowerbeds were found plucked in the morning.
The bonewhip’s purpose is not to kill. Although he is rather pragmatic, he uses it to lash out the eyes of anyone who sees him. He may spare their lives, simply because they were not his target, but they cannot be allowed to look upon him.
It seems that neither bullets nor blades can penetrate his armour. Many have tried and failed, but he is more or less an unstoppable force.
He should normally be holding his head, but it seems to have gone missing.
All victims whose bodies were recovered were found to be decapitated with a very clean slash. Most survivors were left blinded.

╰   ──────  ✧   𝗔 𝗖𝗬𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗
𝗦𝗬𝗡𝗢𝗣𝗦𝗜𝗦.   Milou Mingate was once a well known bounty hunter within the human realm. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and betrayal fell upon her ── causing her to come knocking on death's door sooner than intended. The woman had always been an enigma, but if there was one thing she knew then it was how to hold a grudge. It is what prevented her soul from moving on and thus wreaking havoc in the afterlife; teetering on the edge between the living and the dead. The Future King of the Devildom, Lord Diavolo, was who would end up getting out of this miserable state and therefore effectively putting a stop to her crusade. In exchange, all he required of her was her loyalty towards him. To make due on her end of the deal, she ended up becoming the Young Master's attendant alongside Barbatos. Her efforts weren't for naught and she proved to be a valuable asset ── which is why Diavolo would turn to her for help when the Seven Brothers would fall into the abyss and entrust them into her care. Though it was no easy feat to be their retainer, Milou had prevailed and held the position ever since.
Do you wonder what happens after death?   It is a question pondered by many mortal souls ── those with a finite lifespan wonder if they are granted another chance when their time has run out, or if they are granted access to paradise. In the end, it matters little what your beliefs are. 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗨 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗘 was no stranger to the occult, supernatural or powers beyond human understanding. Though she was no superstitious fool, what she determined as the truth was based on fact and experience.
Thus she knew that monsters do not hide in the shadows and aren't gruesome beasts that will hunt you down to death's door. The best hiding places were in plain sight. People seldom realise that the most cruel monsters are of their own kind, fellow man walking beside them in broad daylight. 𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗬 𝗛𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 was no easy business and you were bound to make enemies ── even if it was an one-sided endeavor of the other party. 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗘 was well aware of all these facts, yet it did little to prevent the inevitable from happening.
She was careless, her already hard-to-earn trust being smothered to pieces and taken advantage of. 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗟; the one thing she despised but also feared the most. To be double-crossed by the one you thought was your most loyal ally is a tragedy indeed ── to quite literally be stabbed in the back. Reality is that when you die, your soul indeed leaves your corporeal form. But regardless of what deeds you have accomplished while alive, your fate had already been sealed when you came into being. A place in the world beyond had already been reserved for when you draw your last breath and it's time to move on. 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 & 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 has to be struck ── for the distribution of souls between heaven, hell and all the realms in between. The ones who are responsible for this task are called 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦.
𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗨 did not believe in fate; it would mean giving up 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟 and letting the course of your life be determined by unknown entities. To do so would be akin to admitting defeat ── and defeat was something she wouldn't let herself fall victim to twice in a row. It was ultimately her anger and sorrow that would still cling onto this world, condemning herself to be in constant turmoil between the living and deceased. A spirit that was neither one nor the other, trapped in a state where she was left to lament what could have been.
If she could not find peace even in 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛 ── 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗡𝗢 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗. The lost soul took it upon herself to interfere with the flow of existence; none shall reach where they belong. Whether you are granted safe passage or are condemned to suffer in eternal agony ── it was a fate decided by the roll of a dice, its executioner being none other than 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗨 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗘, though now known as 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗡.
With souls not arriving at their destined settlements, that her deeds of 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗦 did not go unnoticed by the 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦 of various realms. Not long after, a race began to catch the perpetrator and get rid of the disturbance with whatever means necessary. Although the hunt was easier said than done, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗡 was an elusive entity not only in life but also in death. The endeavor stretched on for millenia, with the anticipation of 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗨'𝗦 capture growing exponentially as time passed. Ultimately, it was the 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗢𝗠 who managed to grab a hold of her first. Diavolo offered her a simple deal; he'd grant her 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 in exchange for her 𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗬. She was free to decline his offer, but they both knew that the idea of having a choice was merely an illusion. No matter what hidden caveats this arrangement would bring, 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗨 knew that it would pale in comparison of what others would arrange for her punishment. Thus a new alliance would emerge ── though it was yet unclear if it were for better or for worse.

FFXIV Write 2023 - Day 14 - Clear
Minor Endwalker spoilers. Sort of continuation of this piece Once bitten, twice shy
You don't need to have read the other piece but it adds a little bit of context I guess.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thancred paced around the small inn room as Urianger tended to Samara, his jaw clenching and fingers digging into the leather of his coat every time he heard her cry out as the elezen tried to purge the remaining poison from her body.
It was a wicked poison they could not easily remedy without knowing precisely what it was. Magical purification was their only option, but that came with the downside of being a more painful treatment. Whereas most assumed healing magics were always kind to the body, it could not be further from the truth when it came to poisons. Forcing aether into a body to purge a toxin from every ilm of tissue was neither pleasant for the practitioner nor the patient.
After a torturous amount of time, the flow of Urianger's aether slowed, the treatment coming to an end. Samara lay twitching on the bed, faint whimpers and sounds of discomfort mingling with her shallow but even breathing.
"I have done all I can. She must needs be watched for any signs of decline. Should the night pass without incident, she will be beyond the worst of it." With a weary sigh, Urianger sat down on the small stool by the bedside as Thancred made his way over. "'Tis fortunate you were so swift in your rescue. Had she been left to the mercy of the poison for much longer, I dare not consider the consequences."
"Yet not swift enough to prevent this from happening to begin with. Clearly, there are some voids in my information network. There was nothing, not even a whisper, of any ill will towards Samara." he pulled out his water canteen, offering it to Urianger while he kept his gaze on the Auri woman.
"An attack of opportunity?" questioned Urianger as he accepted the canteen, greedily drinking the contents.
"Perhaps..."
Finishing the canteen in one swift go, Urianger glanced up towards Thancred, already aware the elder Hyur was plotting something. "I can tell from thine countenance you wish to take action. I would counsel caution lest we be removed from the city before our friend is fully recovered."
"Whoever is behind this will likely not give up on their prize. They will prevent us from leaving the city. Given there were Samurai with the group trying to capture her, I imagine the Sekiseigumi are already on the payroll of the person responsible."
"Then what does thou suggest?"
"The moment Samara can be moved, we take her to the Sharlayan embassy. It is the only place in Kugane she will be safe. Not even the most arrogant Hingan Lords would dare cause a diplomatic incident. Once she is there...I will take care of the problem."
"Thou realises the protection afforded by the embassy does not allow us to conduct ourselves as we please. Should thou be caught-"
"Caught? Me? Come now, Urianger."
"I am being most serious, Thancred. Scion or not, we cannot act with impunity."
"I know, and under normal circumstances, I would not elect myself to be judge, jury and, if needs be, executioner. But there is a present and clear threat that must needs be dealt with. If they are targeting Samara, it is entirely possible they will target any or all of us."
"And were anyone else the victim, I would believe thine words were born purely out of concern and pragmatism, yet we both know that is a half-truth at best. Retribution is unbecoming of you."
Thancred sighed, pulling the sleeves of his white coat free from his gloves before taking it off and laying it over Samara, the faintest smile tugging at his lips as the Auri woman curled up beneath it.
He ran his fingers gently through her tangled mess of hair both to soothe her as well as himself. "It has nothing to do with revenge. I-...we have come so close to losing her so many times, and each time, there was nothing I could do."
"When she returned to us on the Ragnarok, her body broken and bleeding with only the faintest flicker of life...I could only watch, wait and pray to every God in creation. I was useless. Powerless. But here...? I can do something here, Urianger. I can protect her."
"Even if thine act of devotion ends with thou stained in blood and shackled in a cell?
"It would not be the first time..."
Thancred moved away from the bed and over towards his travel bag, pulling out a long red scarf that would easily hide his face among the crowds of Kugane.
"I've failed too many people, Urianger. I've failed her too many times. I will not fail her again."
Thancred then collected a pair of daggers from his bag, ones he had not used in ages but still carried out of habit. No further words were spoken between the men; a silent agreement had been made as Thancred left Samara lightly dozing under his white coat, safe in Urianger's care. For once, he stepped out into the shadows dressed almost entirely in black, the red scarf the only shade of colour to be seen and not a shred of white present.

Kaixo girls!! Forgive me for bringing up the usual topic, but I was wondering if you know of any informative material that talks about the Basque nationalist movements and/or ETA from the point of view/knowledge of someone who really experienced the situation. I am from 2000 and I have lived in Madrid all my life and in class we have received almost 0 true information about this (if we have received any at all). Sometimes the topic comes up with someone and you can have an adult conversation but I always find that the other party ends with "both sides did bad things! (But the Basques more)" and it frustrates me. I don't know if there will be any book or documentary that is 100% impartial, but I do know that what I have at hand has a lot to do with centralism and I would like to know if you know of anything that talks about these movements without the typical "they hadn't done such and such things wouldn’t have spiraled out of control like they did." to which I am accustomed. A hug! ♡
Kaixo!!
You don't know how happy we are that someone young and from Madrid is interested in how things were on "the other side", totally seriously. THANK YOU.
We are not personally aware of any "fair" documentaries. The other day someone told us here that "La Pelota Vasca" addressed the conflict from both sides and that it was worth it, but we haven't seen it.
As you can probably access more Spanish/centralist press, what we can do is leave you some links to our posts - with sources - so you can get an idea of how things were around here.
In 1975 the Spanish government didn't allow Lobo to finish off ETA because it was a political asset. Torture continued to be applied even after Franco's death, Arrizabalaga case.
In the 1980s, the Civil Guard flooded Euskadi - especially Gipuzkoa - with heroin with the intention of numbing and killing young Basques. A former Basque president has confirmed it. The Civil Guard tortured and murdered Basque citizens with NO proven links to ETA. They worked as judge, jury and executioner. And they were rewarded with promotions. Cases Etxabe, Mikel Arregi, Zabalza, Joxe Arregi and Lasa and Zabala. Far-right terrorist groups such as Batallón Vasco Español did the same, and their victims are not yet recognized as victims of terrorism, case Yolanda González.
In the 1990s - and we have experienced this first-hand - the usual thing was for the Civil Guard to set up roadblocks and check the trunks of the cars that left the Basque Country when summer started, only for the Basques to lose their first day of vacation in a traffic jam. Basque children were asked by children from other provinces whether we had weapons in the trunk, and many children stopped talking to us because their mothers told them not to talk to Basques. When the king was going to stay in a certain hotel in the Balearic Islands, all the guests with a Basque surname were relocated elsewhere. Until the license plates were changed - the old ones indicated the province of the car - it was normal for a Basque car to be scratched or get punctured tires outside the Basque Country. At airports, Basque passengers always got "random" check-ins. Media outlets were closed just because, case Punto y Hora.
In the 00s, media outlets - accused of belonging to ETA - continued to be closed without any proof, Egunkaria case. The Civil Guard is still judge, jury and executioner, Berrueta case. Former Spanish president Aznar admits the Basque independence cause is legitimate if it does not use force. A young Basque is sentenced to prison for painting "Gora ETA" in sheet size on a secondary street of his town, 4 years after the final ceasefire. ETA tried to disarm in 2011 and 2014 and neither Spain nor France accepted. Until 2013, more than 3,000 cases of tortured prisoners have been recognized, the Strasbourg Court is already bored of denouncing Spain for this issue.
Figures about ETA and attacks on Basque people (which can be quantified).
Double standards: 1, 2, 3
The Basque Country continues to be the European region with the most police officers per capita, after years without ETA. The Civil Guards continue to recieve their bonus for dangerousness.
And this is not over: when ETA existed, the Spanish National Audience recieved 3 terrorism cases a year. Now it doesn't exist anymore, it recieves more than 30 cases yearly, most of them are related to tweets, jokes or songs.
We have chosen these news because finding information about the ETA attacks is much easier than finding all this, and there are still many more personal traumatic experiences that didn't reach the press that Basque society - not members of ETA but embers of our people - have had and have to endure.
The issue is not "of course, if they hadn't done this then the others wouldn't have done that"; the issue is that reprisals were for everyone, member of ETA or not, it did not matter. And let's not forget that yes, ETA members were obviously murderers, but it was a terrorist group and they are supposed to be criminals; what it cannot be allowed is to have a bloody criminal state funded by tax payers when it is supposed to defend its population. And that, at least with the policy that all governments have followed up til now, Spain needs to have ETA - be it ETA itself, the Catalan independence movement, the Bolivarian communists, whatever, an enemy - and, worst of all, that this is not over yet (as you can see in many news, they are very recent).
A hug anon, and we hope to have given you some of the info you asked for! 🧡

“Horace, Catullus, scholars, Ovid tutor, the tower; but ah”
A rispetto sequence
               1
Horace, Catullus, scholars, Ovid tutor, the tower; but ah! Just in the waves oozing throughout abstain’d, but very rarely
executioner of man, that’s absent case. You stop loving maids—the heart beating still can be belied; and who shut in a country green.

The charted systems, we’re out in thy bloom, lost in the moisture, my music hath a vision from thence, without the leaves; how finely downe

               3
—For oh, her dreams my erring sound; and white, but for us. The shore, nor the tongue: when at last although strong and armor should speak, yet work’d
as it went quite practicable guest; and yet must behold the sharp Eye but for him, at last her brains to dwell upon their scorner’s jest!
               4
I saw the light and thee. Give us more at the Chrysler building, full in view, but of many moe. To your nocturnal skin. Line after
fools that they inflict they found, if you please; but the blinks dull and tremble into the drains Being so caught and lost in health and strive.
               5
The maid would calm me copia fecit. Don Juan’s case were more fit; I do count eternity in days? Bid me to the sky is clear—neither
found. For still he lay, had put a padlock on you, Mother, guardian spirit calls, and winds were all hold out the tyrant cast out.
               6
Not once How good to live with at least, where’er I turn and with that exists, aromas, light-winged snake late coil’d, who pours his love; and the
grass’s fall. Time’s wheel runs back to her hand on high: but not go gentle vows; her sleep ye soun’. A better they bene so graue and frantic.
               7
It was all his Will discharged. But they should Fate sic pleasures flow in vain, confess’d with low voice so sore, that, figures strange convulsive splash’d.
Would gladly our stout chivalry will he send forthwith upon the greater need took you down like a veil, the next news from field to stone.

Hypothetically speaking if in Tunisia :
""" A high grades or scores mean a high level of intelligence as defined internationally.
If the Priority to Education، Top Offices and High Positions is reserved to a first group composed out of elites students profiled based on highest score.
If law enforcement agencies and some govt positions are given to a second group of drop outs and failing students recruited without evaluation of level of Conscience, Response to Logic, Belief in Responsibility, Reasoning, Consciousness and Tolerence.
There are International Records reporting economic failure, rising rates of poverty and crime, corruption, anti-Semitism, violation of Human Rights and Torture in Tunisia.
"""
As I said this is just a hypothesis.
Based on its records Tunisia isn't suffering geniuses and graduates deficiency and clearly a nation's success isn't related to the number of geniuses.
Here in Tunisia and under such assumption it's logical : first group is of a system of high score that can't reflect :
Capabilities of contributing or being innovative and creative.
Level of consciousness and convictions.
Personality and commitment.
Ability to reasonably doubt before embracing.
Despising injustice neither commitment to law and order.
It's obvious that such systems " did deprive Tunisia out of certain criterias and characters and fail to prevent certain irresponsible profiles from penetrating those groups " which clearly is a reason behind such insulting records.
It's clear that in Tunisia a "foreign affairs decision " or an " order of Human Rights Violation" for example must be ordered out of the first group regardless of the order maker. Also it's clear that the second group is the enforcer of that violation.
It's clear : Tunisia is suffering from:
Indoctrinated ignorants/head "first group" order decider.
A hand of injustice " second group" order's executioner.
A damaged nervous system " first group" probably a deaf selfish witness to the order's execution.
It's clear that both groups and their systems are EITHER responsible for Tunisia's Reality OR failed to rescue Tunisia's out of such Reality.
I sadly believe : where ever these two groups and their systems are found there will be Corruption, Poverty and Human Rights Violations AND / OR Obstruction of Justice and Silence/ Failure to Act against Corruption and Human Rights Violations.
I also believe : it doesn't take a professional nor six decades of draining of national budget and six decades of horrible records of Human Rights Violation to realize that a system or a strategy is failing or eventually will fail.

July 16 Part 2
Hypothetically and assuming if :
""" Tunisia's law makers, parties and doctrines succeeded in building a perfect-corruption-free-Ideal-Justice-System up to their standard, convictions and dreams.
A victim submitted a grievance and evidence of a violation, and evidence showed that the victim was not the only victim.
Regardless of evidence, the Justice System discovered that there is a second victim to a violation. """
Again it's just a hypothesis.
Based on this Ideal-Justice-System's rules or procedure, the rules of the dream of Tunisia's law makers and geniuses, only the first victim's case will be processed.
At this point it's clear that such Justice System is designed to respond to certain group only, those who can reach this Ideal-Justice-System, aware of what's a violation and actually know what's the right to be compensated is.
It's also clear that such Justice System's purpose is not fairness neither serving justice indiscriminately.
It's obvious : such Justice System isn't made to end any and all injustice.
It's clear as well that such Justice System's goals are not eradicating corruption nor fighting any and all violations neither delivering justice indiscriminately.
In Tunisia, the PRESIDENTS, PARTIES , GOVT and most of the people do not see that a legally-unjustified-governmental-delay or failure-to-act is a violation and a threat deserve grievance and compensation.
They do not see that a violation of Personal Datas, Invasion of Privacy, or verbal abuse is an unforgivable crime and a national threat deserve grievance and compensation.
They do not see that the least ill treatment in public or private establishments is an unforgivable violation and a threat deserve grievance and compensation.
it's obvious that there is nightmares behind cameras and dead witnesses.
It is clear that such Ideal-Justice-System needs an agency to rescue and search for violations and deliver justice indiscriminately even to ignorants.
The real CATASTROPHY, here in Tunisia , is the fact that Tunisia's Economic and govt geniuses are trying to rescue the country and people, make a progress and fight poverty, corruption, crime, and terrorism through and using their Ideal-Justice-System.
The embarrassing part here is the fact that in this hypothesis I laid a negligence-free-Ideal-Justice-System up to Tunisia's geniuses and law academic's beliefs, plans, values, goals, principles and wishes and I sadly did not use Tunisia's current geniuses's justice system nor Ben Ali's neither Borguiba's.
