I’m obsessed with my own Friendly Four version of Quackervolt. In my head Megavolt intentionally gave himself powers (kinda like DT17 Gandra) and so his brain isn’t fried, instead he’s still a genius and autistic as hell. He talks pretty fast, especially when talking about his work. Quackerjack finds it absolutely endearing.
And I’m a little unsure if this is the direction I wanna go with Quackerjack but I’m toying with the idea of him having an actual background in psychology? Either way I imagine that since he’s the opposite of regular Quackerjack, he’s very empathetic and even sensitive. Idk, they’re taking up so much brainspace

My version of NegaBushroot. He's a generally cheerful and optimistic person who doesn't really care what other people think of him. He doesn't like violence, but he'll happily jump headfirst into a fight if it means that others don't have to.

*rip to whoever's printer ink if one decides to print this comic to reread as a comic book.*
"Damn! Do villians in the show wait this long for Darkwing Duck?"
"Yes." Was the reply filled with fact as the taller duck puffed his cigarette.
"Wouldn't it been nice to know the original series negaduck?"
Drake looked up toward his partner.
"Nah." Launcher shook his head, staring toward the bait, then lowered the cigarette. "He'll just disappoint us."
"I am the terror that flaps in the..."
A puff of purple smoke appeared from across as the familiar aging voice boomed in the air.
"Jackpot." the pair chimed.
.. Somewhere in another reality...
A figure in a purple fancy superhero costume was running through the night carrying two sacks of money. He halted once he saw a collection of purple smoke beginning to surround him.
"Oh hell, it's him."
From above was a figure on a wing blade with the cape wrapped around their figure gazing down toward the younger duck quite daring.
"I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am the desire to draw something fun that is thwarted by another muse!"
Darkwing leaped off the thunder quack.
"I am…" Darkwing landed to his feet hen stood up.
"2 of them here?" A familiar mutant from afar muttered, bearing pupils, saying words, stunned.
Darkwing then stretched his cape ut as the smoke parted around him.
"DAAAARkwwwwiiiiing duck!"
The pair fought with the bag of loot dropped to the ground. "
"Pah-thet-ick! Trying to fight for your nemesis memory!" the younger duck dodge the blows. "You've gone soft at your old age!"
He withdrew his fedora as the older duck staggered back, shaking, his back to him.
"Yeah, he's gone, but you shouldn't spend your retirement years doing this silly thing."
From another realm, the grim reaper tapped on the hour glass labeled 'Edward J. Quack. 'Negaduck' as the sand continued to fall down toward the bottom. The bottom had a substantial size while the top seemed not to be running out quite yet.
Darkwing turned toward the younger duck as he pointed toward him.
"Y-a-a-a-ya never knew him!" Darkwing shot back.
"Will DWD's foil's death mess me up?"
The young duck put the fedora on looked down as he thought it over for a moment then shook his head.
"NAH!"
He shook his head then shot back.
"Sappy old man!"

And finally…
In the end, Negaduck won for Best Villain and Best Member of the Fearsome Five, though I'm not surprised. But Bushroot was well behind him, otherwise Bushroot would be like the best villain of the Fearsome Four group. Of course, the others are also great. Thanks everyone for voting! :D
The following poll is about Darkwing Duck. Actually related to the Darkwing Duck villains.

When running from the Nega Muddlefoots; Darkwing, along with Nega-Gosalyn and Nega-Tank head to a demolished building for shelter. "Now remember, keep it quiet if there is someone else in here." Darkwing whispered to the two, as they hid the damaged desk.
The room was dead silence, but was then interrupted by the ringing telephone. The three see footsteps creaking the wooden floorboards. They noticed that it is wearing black boots, to which Darkwing knew a certain ally who wears similar boots like that, but he doesn't know who it was. When they came for the telephone, they picked it up and answered it before sitting themselve on the stool.
"What is it? Unless you want to get PUMMELLED OR KILLED!" The voice shouted in anger, but that caught Darkwing Duck's attention to her familiar voice, then an another voice came from the phone. "Starz~ Isn't that a way to say to, who you've been ruled for~" it sounded quite seductive, when it responded to them. Darkwing has heard that voice mostly and it is of his greatest enemy; Negaduck.
There it goes over to an owl speaking on the phone, twirling the cord with her fingers. "Oh no, no, no, Negaduck my lord– I had been trying to evaporate Liquidator, burn all of Bushroot's precious plants, fry Megavolt and then been caught by one of Quackerjack's toys." The owl's appearance and outfit looks oddly similar to anyone, especially the heroic mallard, as it is his lively ally; Star Striker. But something about her in the Negaverse is different, her gliding suit was tattered with the star being split in half and is in a magenta colour, her suit is dark red with red crosses instead of dark blue with yellow stars. Her fur colour is in a darker shade. The most notable ones are her eyes and her face; one pale red and the other is blindly white. her blind eye has a burn mark, and so does her third eye, which it is presumed to be blind too.
While hiding in the desk, Darkwing and Tank see Gosalyn coming towards her. "Gosalyn! Gosalyn, come back here!" He whispered, demanded her to come back to their hiding spot. But she didn't listen and skips over to the owl. "Darkwing is on the loose, remember that? He looks like me and you better have to bring him dead... or alive–" Negaduck commanded her through the phone. "He better... I want this traitor of a hero DEAD! I don't care if he is alive, I'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN!" She yelled out with the wrath in her throat.
Starz felt something touch her leg, with her eye twitched in annoyance. She growled as she turns her head around to see Nega-Gosalyn looking at her. "Oh... It's just you Gosalyn." Starz spots her, but the way she responded to Gosalyn is surprisingly calm. "What do you think your doing in my home, young lady? Shouldn't Launchpad be with you in your house?" She asked. "But I–" Gosalyn tried to talk it out but the owl cuts her off right when she lifts her up in her arms "No talking now kid. C'mon, you know how awfully nice it is of Launchpad to give you these toys." She chuckled, before she is about to take Nega-Gosalyn back home.
"Gosalyn!" Darkwing interfered when he rushes towards her and grabs Gosalyn right out of Starz's hands. "What the—" Starz noticed Gosalyn not in her arms. When she looks back at her. Her eyes widened in shock to see Darkwing holding onto her in his own arms. They both head towards a door to an another room, Darkwing shuts it, his chest huffing air from running. Starz's eye twitched of what she had seen, but she turned her head to see Nega-Tank standing behind her. "Excuse me, Miss Starz." "Yes... What is it Tank?" She sighed when she saw him. "Have you seen where that traitor has gone to now?" The owl asked. Tank shook his head and he replied "Nope. He isn't here or perhaps anywhere Miss Starz." "...Right" Starz muttered "But I'm keeping a close eye on you, kid. Your lucky that you and Gosalyn don't irritate much unlike that traitor."
Darkwing and Gosalyn are in Starz's bedroom. "Darkwing– Darkwing– Come outta here... you STUPID! DIRTY...! TRAITOR!" Starz goes at it with her bedroom door, throwing daggers at a target she placed it in her door and the last she threw was an axe, leaving a big hole on the door and the axe hits on the floor.
--♡--
"Well... well... well. Now look who it is now–" spoke the shadow standing by the two til stepping to them. "Wait a sec! That voice is... familiar to me..." Darkwing said to himself, as the shadow steps towards him revealing Starz, she gave him an angered look.
"Star? What is up with you? First, Gosalyn is sweet, Tank is polite and now you are completely gone insane here in the Negaverse—" the mallard gets grabbed by his aqua coloured sweater that is underneath his purple coat, and pulled closer to see her face. "Yep... I am insane, Mallard!" She sinisterly chuckled, her fingerless, black gloved hands gripping onto his throat tightly. "Star, you need to snap out of this. Your sweet, kind and always got my back for me, Launchpad and Gosalyn. Please, you need to stop this insanity of yours–" Darkwing tries to convince Starz to be back to her old self but he doesn't realize that she is completely the opposite of her. "Oh I will, Darkwing... Once I'm FINISHED MURDERING YOU ALIVE TRAITOR!"
Starz lets out an evil laugh from her throat before beginning her chance to kill him. Nega-Tank notices her pulling a dagger out of her black gliding suit. Tank comes up with an idea, to get Darkwing out of this murder situation. He goes over to her library, and picks up about 15 books and stacking them to a tower behind her. "Star... we can discuss... this now, but I am warning you for this. Put your knife down, now!" Darkwing demanded but the owl lady replied back "I would never believe a word you say! Everyone say that i'm a failure because they say that my projects are all pointless and when this fire came... YOU THOUGHT I'D DIED AND WHAT DID YOU DO?! YOU LEFT ME! LEFT ME TO ALMOST BURN TO DEATH IN THE FLAMES! OH WAIT, NO! I... WAS FINE! Starz was in rage and upset by telling him of what made her like this now in the Negaverse. "And now... you mean.. NOTHING to me, for now Darkwing. Any last words... traitor~" "Hey Miss Starz" Nega-Tank called by behind her, stopping her attempt to slice Darkwing. "What Tank!?" She went annoyed at him.
"Y'know what they say. Never judge a book by it's cover." Tank pulls a book from the middle side, causing the tower to topple down onto Starz and release her grip from Darkwing. The heroic mallard rolls to the wall. "C'mon Tank." "Yes Darkwing" Tank then tilts over to Starz on the floor with the books fallen on top of her head and body. "My apologies Miss Starz." There he goes along to Darkwing, he pulls out his Gas Gun, the gun releases a puff of purple smoke and a grapple hook reaching towards an another destroyed building, he held onto Gosalyn and Tank tightly, and the three all jump off the window and land on the building.
Starz, who is off the book pile, bruised around her head and the back of her chest. She called on Negaduck over right as he answered now "I failed to catch him my lord... But still... I would've slitted his darn throat, if that smarty ol' Tank didn't push that pile of books onto me!" "You manage to let him get away, Starz? Tch, you should've had stopped them faster. But the slitting on his throat you almost did would be a big success for you, my shattering star~" "Oh... my, Negaduck" she chuckled by the phone. "If you'd manage to success killing Darkwing~ I perhaps can reward with something if you don't mind~" Negaduck went on seductively. "My my Negaduck, you know how I got so... so..." "Fallen for me~" The two said in unison, then they chuckle with eachother.

I am a novice in Darkwing Duck lore but oooo do I want to make and develop the friendly four versions of the main villains so bad-
Like a egotistical superhero ending up adopting a kid and finding love a sidekick? Amazing, awesome, I love that.
But FOUR misfit superheros finding each other and sticking together, even when everything is going against them, and adopting TWO kids?! Even more amazing, lovely, I adore that, I want more of that.
Anyways take a sketch of Friendly Four Quacker Jack- and some small ideas + brainstorming I have for now
So basically for them, I wanna do the same approach they did with Negaduck; same personality traits, flaws and all, just different scenarios.
Nega Megavolt and Nega Liquidator are easy enough to make heroic; both have a reason to be against Negaduck (don't want to make Nega Liquidator want to poison his competitors tho -even with me going with a corrupt business forced to turn good in harsh situations- probably will be Nega Liquidator trying to stop Negaduck from messing with his products and ends up getting murdered) (Nega Megavolt I can just change Negaduck into being his bully instead of Friend, and the cause of his powers). Also Megavolt already has heroic actions towards his electronics, so that helps (Negavolt still views electronics stuff as sentient, just doesn't think of them as enslaved; maybe he views them as workers or something)
Now for Nega Quackerjack I'm thinking that the Wiffle Boy company still took down his company and drove him to villainy for a bit- but when Negaduck's raise began (and toy bans) Quackerjack turn heroic to stop him; maybe Negaduck even tried to make him serve him while he was still a villain, but that went very very poorly (maybe he somehow met Gosalyn that way, dunno yet). He still holds his grudges against Wiffle Boy, but isn't going to go into a violent rampage over someone playing the game (probably just get judgy about it, unless it's his kids then he'll just try to show him how much better his toys are and eventually one of the other of the four just gotta drag him away and let him mope)
Now for Nega Bushroot, Rhonda was the one who was cruel to him and Gary and Larson were chill. He still wanted to solve world hunger but got rejected still (dunno if it's cause of Negaduck involvement this time or just of the funders greed). That's all I got backstory wise. Thinking of either having him have a lower murder count (or zero murder) or having him murder someone before joining the Friendly Four and it just absolutely worsening into his low self esteem (maybe the guilt is what pushes him towards good and makes him want to stop Negaduck). However I don't want Rhonda dead cause I think she'd be a cool lil villain, so I don't know.
Oh I also got some ideas for Nega Gosalyn's character and Negaduck's relationship with her. So basically Negaduck, as we know, is highly egotistical and craves power and violence. So, in his eyes caring for someone is a sign of weakness; he absolutely refuses to do anything you're supposed to do with a kid (tuck them in, comfort them when scared, be emotionally available for them, etc.) cause it embarrasses him and makes him feel weak. So instead, he just gives Gosalyn all the toys confiscated and lets her live there, thinking that's enough (spoiler alert, it's not enough and leads to Gosalyn feeling both unsafe and unloved). Also, Negaduck being a tyrant and seeing all the havoc he and Nega Launchpad has caused for the town (some frist hand experiences) reaaaally doesn't help her feel any safer.
Nega Gosalyn's well mannered personality is a direct result of these feelings of unsafeness. She still has her spirit (and mischievous nature) and wants to do good, but she's also very scared if she acts out she'll hurt or killed (Negaduck wouldn't actually physically hurt her, but he does verbally threaten to do so when she messes up; yeeeah he should have never gotten a child). So she tries to help the side of good from a safe distance where Negaduck and Launchpad don't notice. Over the time she's adopted by The Friendly Four, her mischievous personality starts to slowly come back.
The Friendly Four is a poly couple.
I think it would be insanely funny if one day, after Nega Gosalyn (and everyone else in the town for that matter) gets readjusted to daily life and schools being open, that her class gets a new student and she turns her head only to see Nega Honker at the door. And they both just stare at each other like
Naturally they do not get along (their poor teacher, first had to deal with teaching a bunch of behind students who most definitely are still traumatized from Negaduck's rule, and now she gotta keep Nega Gosalyn and Nega Honker from beating each other to a pulp) (Nega Gosalyn would totally throw hands for her close friend and now brother Tank) (Nega Tank is older so he's in a higher grade)
It's like 1am, this post might be a jamble of a mess but I'm sleepy so I'm leaving it as is. If you actually read this far, thank you and I hope you like my lil ideas!
#darkwing duck#darkwing duck 1991#the friendly four#probably will develop these ideas much later- super duper busy with college#also i call myself a novice cause i haven't seen every episode#so feel free to call me out if certain ideas don't fit

Asky gamo: https://www.tumblr.com/chill-vibes-but-rainbow-panic/756389448749547520
Characters:
5 for everyone's favourite theatre gay, Dante Vernon
6 for Theo
21/22 (pick one) for Leila
✨Bonus Characters✨:
For both Flim and Flam 24
Ik at one point you said that you've read the Giver, so 4 for Jonas if you remember anything abt it
1 for Darkwing Duck
let the paragraphs begin!/j
Characters <3 (OG Ask Game)
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
(This is going to be a paragraph be prepared)
So first of, Darkwing's honestly just really funny. He is the smartest idiot you'll ever meet (The 'breadcrumb on the bridge' scene lives rent free in my head iykyk). He has such a based disguise, but somehow also no swag (at least three villainesseses have fallen for him regardless). He survives purely out of luck and children's-cartoon-protagonist-powers. He saves lives every night and no one respects him. His name is Male Duck. THE character of all time
Also, Darkwing has quite...interesting morals. Like, he isn't gonna kill people, but he also doesn't really care, if they just so happen to die (this is canon) He's also incredibly self-absorbed, to the point it can interfere with how he interacts with other people (though he's also masking his insecurities and trauma, which on that note, I'm a sucker for a sad backstory), but that doesn't mean he doesn't care
With that said, MAN Darkwing CARES. That man got a family in the span of one day, and was immeditaely ready to die for them. Even if he can be clouded by his own ego, he loves Launchpad, and he loves Gosalyn, and he loves being a hero, and he loves being a dad, and he loves being a friend His interactions with Nega-Gosalyn uhwefiohusdf you can not expect me to be normal about that! I will never shut up about Darkly Dawns the Duck, or Steerminator, or Crisis of Infinite Darkwings, I simply can't Not even mentioning the fact that, after years off being completely absorbed into his hero-identity and completely shutting himself of from society, Launchpad is the first person he trusts so completely, he reveals his identity to him. He doesn't just let him into his life as a sidekick, but explicitly as a member of his new family
But (and this is prob one of my favourite tropes any superhero-media can do ever), Darkwing is also shown to care about his villains, though more so in the comics, than the show Of course - one of my favourites - "Dawn of the Day of the Return of the Living Spud". When Darkwing decides to call Bushroot by his first name, to just completely level with him as a person. The situation requires urgency and action, but he knows why Reginald can't do it. He has seen how far that man was willing to go for company, he knows how lonely he is. Darkwing can't force him, so he reasons with him, because Bushroot is not imcapable of being reasoned with. And then even once Posey has already been defeated, and so the stakes are no longer there, Darkwing checks up on him again. He obviously cares about how Reggie is feeling after this. Because while he might think the entire potato-wife-plan was crazy, he can understand how important it was to Bushroot, and how he was forced to kill the only living being he thought came close to being like him
Then there's of course also the entire thing with Quackerjack in "Toy with Me", and Claire humbling him with the idea that Quackerjack (and villains in general), are people beyond what Darkwing sees them as. And while he unfortunately never really got the chance to talk it out with QJ, both times Darkwing had that moment of "trust me, I get it" (For Bushroot it was the loneliness, for QJ wanting to be better than everyone else) And characters like Darkwarrior Duck prove that Darkwing is not above becoming a villain himself, if the circumstances were right. It shows that - to an extent ofc - being a villain or not depends on luck, and is not some unavoidable destiny In some aspects, he's not all too different from them
I love Darkwing Duck, I know that may not have been obvious /j
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
I'm sure this also exists internationally, though I'm not sure to which extent, but here in Germany there's a pretty well-known children's book series called "Conni"
Most of these books are just about a young Conni either expieriencing new things for the first time and learning about them, or learning how to deal with new emotions
And while Jonas is definitely older than Conni is in most of these books:
1. I'm pretty sure if I take Jonas out of his "squeeky-clean" and organized society and put him in anything with too much action, he will explode
2. Because of the whole 'discovering new memories' thing, I think Jonas would actually quite profit from and enjoy learning about all these "mundane" things with Conni. He'd basically just get to have a semi-normal childhood
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
At first I was a little stumped at this one, but then it hit me like a truck
I Deserve to Bleed, by Sushi Soucy
That man carries so much guilt and blame within himself, he is Not Okay. He still blamed mostly himself after Kalagan blew up his home
I truly believe that after everything he did in the books, if Kalagan had abandoned his plan even a little early, and made up with Dante, he would have accepted it in a heartbeat, because he was so haunted by his actions, he would have done anything to get back what he once had
"Sympathy and love, we can extent to someone else But it's harder, when you have to love yourself"
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
Oh, I should really re-read the books somewhen. I do have to admit, I don't remember that much about Theo, unfortunately (minus his arcs in the third book, but I have opinions about how those were handled by the plot)
Though from the things I do remember, his "secret" in the fourth book sticks out the most to me. The fact that he keeps thinking about his dove a lot, and tries to imagine what he could have done better I'm also someone who tends to overthink on past scenarios, and how they could have been handled better/differently, especially if I think, I could have fault in said situation
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I have yet to actually write a proper MM-Fic tbh, so I'm using this oppurtunity to talk about Good Uncle Sly a little bit
Because as I have said once before, I'd like the Kalagans to connect with the Misfits a little bit, using something that they share (for Theo it's family expectations, Ridley using caution and distrust in order to keep people safe, etc.) For him and Leila, I would get them to connect over their respective times in the orphanage. Because no one in these books who went to an orphanage came out alright (/lh)
So I guess, in one way or another, you could say I like writing a bit more about Leila's trauma. I think trauma exploration in characters is always fun
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
I've mentioned this before in passing, but definitely Kilroy and Kincaid, but also Olly and Izzy
Like, Flim and Flam are not evil! At best, they're mean. The worst thing they did imo, was sell fake medicine, otherwise they're just petty scammers and jerks (and in their very first appearance, they weren't even scammers, technically!). But they are very much still schemy business boys
But of course, they have this inherent togetherness. It is literally baked into their characters, looking at their cutie marks; like, those boys were never gonna go off and each do their own thing Like honestly? The whole thing Kincaid does, where he turns himself in to be with his brother, because there is no way to get him out? I could see Flim and Flam doing that
Though I'm throwing Olly and Izzy in here too, because the Kalagans are just slightly missing the very important showman-ship aspect Flim and Flam have. Like don't get me wrong, they are magicians, and they put on "shows", when they rob people. But the way the Goldens perform is just a lot more reminiscent, of how Flim and Flam do it, especially when it comes to overall energy and vibe. You could throw all four of them into the same routine, and they would ace it. Also, both of them are rocking the Barbershop-Quartet fit; straw hats and striped jackets and all
And lastly, they are of course all rocking the Identical Twin Swag (well, Olly and Izzy are fraternal ig, but you get what I mean :P )
Thank you so much for the ask, Shadow! :D
#Srry this took me so long to answer; I decided to take a *very* random short Tumblr-hiatus#cause I somehow couldn't muster the energy to make any post#But I had so much fun writing my Darkwing rant; like he might not be my *favourite* char but that's just cause DWD has SO many good ones#I don't feel like putting all of this through a spell-checker rn so sorry for the typos#ask game#(I'll tag the fandoms for organization purposes but not every character)#darkwing duck#the giver#the magic misfits#Good Uncle Sly AU#my little pony#long post#rambles#mutuals#<3#ask for chill

Duckvember Day 2: Yucky Duck
Wheee this is an idea I’ve had in my head for a while with one of my OC’s verses Liquidator. Working title was ‘Blood Thicker than Water.’ Wheeee.
—--------------------------
“Oh thank goodness you’re here!” Bushroot rushed up to Liquidator as soon as he came through the door of the current Fearsome Five hideout, “Negaduck has been having me keep watch on some creepy witch he captured. I’ve had to watch her all day because Quackerjack and Megavolt couldn’t.”
“Why couldn’t they?” Liquidator was already suspicious of this whole situation, “and which witch?”
“I don’t know, one I haven’t seen before. Blonde. The most terrifying smile! She is some kind of monster!” the plant duck replied as he motioned to lead Liquidator to the room the captive was in, “d-don’t worry about why the others couldn’t be near her. It’s something that won’t affect you or me.”
“Alright….,” Liquidator gave a skeptical tone in that single word. He peered into the room Bushroot had led to him. Inside was some old cage Negaduck had lying around. Inside the cage was a blonde duck. She was wearing a blue dress with red trim. The style could be described as a ballroom dress. The sleeves of the dress were puffy along with the skirt. Both Bushroot and Liquidator were taller than her.
The supposed witch did not seem stressed out about being in a cage. She was sitting on the floor with the fabric of her skirt making a wide circle around her. When she noticed Liquidator she gave him a smile and wave. She then winced like something had pricked her hand. The duck quickly put the injured finger in her bill. Liquidator leaned away from the doorway to be out of her sight before addressing Bushroot.
“There has been a bit of false advertising from you about her. She is not any way how you described her. Why would Negaduck kidnap some woman in a bridesmaid dress?” the water dog questioned the plant duck.
“I-i- don’t know! She was in some kind of fight with Negaduck and he captured her. But- but that cage doesn’t stop any magic if she is really a witch! An-And what if- what if he didn’t defeat her in whatever fight they had. What if she pretended to have him win just to be brought here to do something!” Bushroot replied all worked up. Some considered him the most cowardly of the Fearsome Five, but this paranoia was even a lot for him.
“Okay……,” Liquidator gave another short reply.
“Can you watch her now? I need a break. And she says so many weird things. I can’t take it any longer,” Bushroot confessed as he already turned to walk down the hall, “I’ll be back . I j-just need some fresh air!”
“Well, this is interesting,” Liquidator said to himself before he entered the room with the caged woman.
“Hello!” the blonde duck stayed where she was sitting, “You must be Liquidator?”
“That is correct! The one and only! And who are you? I’m curious as to why our glorious leader captured you,” Liquidator’s tone on ‘glorious’ had some disdain. While Negaduck did come up with some good plans for the team, they didn’t always get along with the brash negaverser.
“My name is Faustina,” she said as she stood up. She held her hand through the bars for a handshake. Since the water bodied criminal did not have any reason to fear her, he obliged, “Oh, that felt a little weird. Neat though! I don’t know why Nega-banana has me captured. Maybe I asked too many questions.”
“Uh huh… and are you a witch?” He asked the most important question.
“Oh yes, definitely,” she replied with dripping sarcasm, “Negaduck believes I'm a mountain biking vampire witch from the future.”
“Right… well I’m keeping an eye on you until Negaduck gets back,” Liquidator stated as he went to sit down on a nearby chair that faced the cage. The keys to the cage sat on an end table beside the chair.
“How does that work?” Faustina questioned as she had both hands at face level holding on to bars of the cage.
“How does what work?”
“Your eyes. You’re all water. How do you see?” the cage witch questioned again.
“I just do! It isn’t your business. Your business is with Negaduck,” Liquidator replied, rather annoyed.
“So it hurt then,” Faustina said rather ominously.
“Bushroot saying you say weird things and Negaduck being annoyed by you asking too many questions does check out,” was Liquidator’s response. He wondered how soon Bushroot would be back.
“It hurt when you became what you are. Right? I’m no scientist but I would think like fleshy cells becoming water wouldn’t be the best feeling. The plant guy probably had it easier. Because the cells still change to something solid just green for him,” Faustina rambled on, “would be kind of horrifying to just like - melt before becoming water. Or feel like you’re drowning and then be relieved when the drowning feeling stopped only to find out you are now the water that was drowning you. Wild.”
“Maybe if you don’t shut your beak or you’ll know how it feels to drown,” the water dog stood from his chair to be more threatening to the captive. She showed no change in emotion. If anything, the smile on her bill became wider.
“Ah, so it does touch a nerve. Do you even have nerves, like do you feel?” she had no intent of stopping her questions. Faustina was not threatened by Liquidator at all. Instead, she kept egging him on, “Since your brain isn’t physically here anymore, how do you retain memories? Do you have memories before you were like this?”
“I’m sure I can find something to tie up your bill around here so you’ll be quiet,” Liquidator threatened as he gave a look around the room. He would even use one of Negaduck’s spare masks if he could find one. Faustina just giggled.
“When there isn’t an actual body, can a soul stay attached to just water?” her voice was lower when she spoke more, “Since I have resurrected people without a body, I wonder if I can just form your body around your watery form…”
“I thought you said you weren’t a witch?” Liquidator spoke as he still looked for something to gag the talkative duck with. He started searching the seat cushions.
“No. I said I am definitely a witch,” she grinned wider. The smile line was coming past the normal corners of her bill mouth. Something was clearly off with this duck, “Just not the type of witch Negs thinks I am. Do you think if I made your old body reform it would be as painful as when you lost it?”
At that moment, Liquidator didn’t even consider if he would really want to be turned back or not. It was the fact she had offered it as a threat that made him react instantly. Without saying a word he went to his more fluid form and splashed through the cage bars. He picked up the would-be witch so she was inside his watery form.
Liquidator did not intend to drown her /completely/, but scare her enough to keep her beak shut. However, she was not scared. Faustina did not struggle like someone drowning in a body of water would. Instead, her whole jaw unhinged. She exposed teeth going further back on the inside of her bill than should have been there. Jagged teeth showed down the sides of her neck. They were razor sharp. She even nicked her own tongue against them, causing a little blood to release like a tiny nuclear cloud.
Instead of struggling with drowning, she went to take a big gulp of water. Liquidator felt the pulling motion of what was about to happen and quickly retreated. He pulled himself through the bars and quickly reformed to his usual upright form.
“Oh, you are exactly as advertised,” was all he could say as he saw the monster girl still grinning in the cage. Her straight wet hair and dress only made her aesthetic more off putting. Faustina stood there for a moment with her jaw still open wide. It now clearly looked like she had two rows of teeth past her normal jaw line. In mere seconds, she closed her mouth and all the monstrous form was hidden once again.
“And now you include a free prize inside,” Faustina giggled. Liquidator made an uncertain face at her statement.
“I’m afraid to ask what you mean by that…,” the water dog replied as he took a few steps back from the cage.
“Oh, don’t worry. I don’t resurrect people for free. If you’re good at something, get PAID for it. You know what I mean,” she let out another giggle that sounded like it was in stereo. It was like somewhere else on her body was giggling. For a moment LIquidator thought he saw a line of teeth across the woman’s collarbone. Before we could register what he saw it was back to just normal feathers. The smile on her beak still remained, “You’re going to unlock this cage.”
“I am certainly not. I can see why Negaduck has you in here and you’re going to be in there when he gets back,” Liquidator said while walking towards the keys on the table and picking them up. It took him a moment to realize he was doing so when he had no intention of walking over there. When he was half way walking back to the cage he tried to stop himself, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?”
“I’m a blood witch, not a bike witch,” she first started simply. When Liquidator was struggling against coming closer to the cage, the witch raised her hand to give more pull towards her, “apparently the bit of blood from my handshake was not enough to get you under my control. I had to go a little more extreme.”
Liquidator still struggled against what Faustina was making him do. With an aggressive movement of her arm she was able to make Liquidator’s arm stretch out to the cage lock. He inserted the key. When her hand turned, his hand turned the key in the lock. The witch simply pushed open the door and stepped out. The water dog tried to back away from her as she approached.
From Faustina’s wet dress she pulled the smallest mason jar Liquidator had ever seen. She scooped up a bit of water from Liquidator’s outstretched arm and closed the lid on the jar tight.
“I highly recommend not doing any jobs for fae. It was hard to thick up how I was going to get samples from people without blood. Nice to know I can still over power people with some mind games instead. Welp, It’s been swell, but the swellings going down. Hopefully I don’t see you around. Tootles!” and with that Faustina just walked out of the room. She was out of the house before Liquidator could move again.
Liquidator placed the keys back on the table. He locked the cage closed without the witch in there, “And I’m just going to leave before Negaduck blames me for this.”

Thoughts, Headcanons and Comments on Bushroot (My AU).
This here is more of a commentary blog and maybe a rant, it can also be considered as a headcanon blog and also for Bushroot fans. For those who want to, they can read it as they wish, but I'm already advancing that it's LONG and will have some low-level words (I'll censor it, but it's still worth it). Feel free to leave comments about your opinions...
So... These days I was looking at the Darkwing Duck wiki, more specifically the Bushroot one, until I got to the curiosities... And I came across this...
Then the thought came to me: "Wait wait wait... IS THE BUSHROOT A WORSE KILLER THAN NEGADUCK?!?!?! 0-0"
"WHAT THE F-"
Okay... Sorry... But actually it wasn't like that... I already knew a little bit about it because of Annie that Bushroot was in a way kind of... A bloodthirsty killer... But then a question came to me: How much was that on purpose and how much was accidental? See, I know Bushroot is a villain and is basically insane, but... Considering his personality... Do you really think he kills KILLS on purpose most of the time?
Obviously Disney wouldn't even dream of putting it in a children's series, but... Darkwing Duck tackles death a couple of times like it's nothing! Bushroot itself has "died" a few times and people speak verbally! I don't want to get into how much Disney is very childish to the extreme and how this makes current productions a little worse, but that's not my point... The point is... I don't believe that Bushroot did the murders knowingly or WANTING. And here I get an idea from another cartoon, this time a current one: The Owl House. More specifically... Willow and Gus.
I'm not going to go into the merits of how I love TOH and blah blah blah... But one thing that I found interesting about this series is this characteristic of when the character is having a breakdown or is out of control, the powers apparently get stronger and the eyes of the staff are shining. I particularly like the way Willow looks, basically it's Bushroot. Here comes my Headcanon...
When Bushroot ends up with some extremely strong negative emotion, the most common being anger or fear, he ends up losing control of his powers and this makes him completely lose reason and attack everything in front of him. Be it allies, enemies and even innocent people... And here comes a very heavy question... He may be a murderer, but he's not a sociopath or a psychopath.
Let's face it... Bushroot only killed his Bullies because they harassed him ALL DAY. This one he had a taste for killing them first! The DWD is obvious, the hero was always interfering with his plans (which I honestly think he stopped caring, because Darkwing is not one of the most competent heroes...). But it's JUST THESE people we know he wanted to kill... What about the other victims? Did he mean to kill them or was it an accident?
For me, I think that most of the victims were accidental and, after he got out of that frenzy, if he found out... I think he would go into despair with so much blood. Here is also the question of his remorse and guilt, he would probably cry in despair and Liquidator would be comforting him (although he is not the most emotional person... Then more Liquidator headcanons) or any of the other Fearsome, except for Negaduck, who shouldn't even have feelings anyway.
To wrap up this whole thread... Let's go to Bushroot's weakness... I know everyone knows that this plant zombie is basically immortal in the series, but here I thought of a good weakness for him... Fire.
Reasons? Zombie in most movies is defeated with fire. Plants are easily burned by fire. There are forests that are burned. I think you get the point... It would also serve as something for Negaduck to use as a triumph for him against Bush and could threaten him. This is something from Negaduck, but not giving too much spoiler... Basically the Fearsome Four didn't betray him before in our AU because they were constantly threatened by Negaduck, everything for the negative duck was a matter of having control of everything. He knew the weakness of the four and always used threats and intimidation to get what he wanted. And let's face it... Bushroot didn't have much attitude, so he was easily manipulated by ND. Otherwise...
Yeah, you get the idea... Anyway, I want to thank Annie for the arts and I also want to thank you for reading everything... That's it... Bye!
Arts for @anniesilveratl2

Is there any chance of a Bushroot redemption arc because of Tim?
I would like to think so. I like the idea that the little mouse's innocence is able to redeem the mutant duck, since Tim would honestly admire him, ignoring his mutant powers, and how Bushroot really is. The innocence and kindness of a child (and Gosalyn wouldn't be surprised by that, since the little mouse even got to the heart of old but cruel Nega-McDuck)

💐 🔎👶 🍙 💀 ( Pentious & Negs, also as a bonus, Broker!)
All the Little Things Meme
💐 - Favorite type of flower
🔎 - Random detail about them
👶 - As a kid, what were they like?
🍙 - Favorite snack
💀 - What are they afraid of?
Sir Pentious
💐: Jasmine vines, though he likes roses too.
🔎: Sir Pentious has multiple eyes on his body, including on his top hat. These eyes will always show his true feelings.
👶: As a child, Elaphe was a bit of a snobbish brat, being raised in a rich home. He didn't have a lot of friends but desperately wanted them. He was the sort of kid that was secretly very sensitive but was a brat because he didn't have any real friends, and his parents didn't have time for him. So he tended to act out as a result.
🍙: Deviled Eggs. His love for eatting eggs didn't start in Hell ether.
💀: Being alone. He made the Egg bois sentient for this reason.
Negaduck
💐: Aconitum, for how poisonous and deceptive it is. He isn't really a flower person, but he does appreciate deadly plants (which is why he puts up with Bushroot).
🔎: There are small breaks in his feathers with scars that never fully healed. He covers them well enough, but they are noticeable if you see him without long sleeves or a shirt.
👶: As a child, Negaduck was a lonely kid with struggling parents. They weren't around a lot because they had to work. This led to Negaduck eventually getting into street gangs and crime at an early age for some sense of comradary. Sadly, none of these connections really lasted, and things like backstabbing and betrayals became a norm in his life.
🍙: Pistachios or Pistachio flavored things like Ice cream.
💀: He has only ever feared one person. Nega!Morgana. And he ended up falling for her.
Broker
💐: Tulips. Her mother used to have a tulip garden so it's something sentimental to her.
🔎: She likes to test people's limits. She feels action speaks more than words as people can just lie. Behavior tells her more, and she feels it's more honest.
👶: Rose was a cheerful kid. She didn't have too many friends, but she was close to those she did have. Her parents worked long hours, but she had a very strong bond with her aunts and grand parents that often cared for her when her parents were at work. Her aunts being Zoologists helped foster her love for animals at a young age.
🍙: Mints. She loves mints.
💀: Freezing to death, being caged, and treated like a freak or animal. Those are the big ones.

Which of the Friendly do you like to draw the most? Are the four a couple? So... are the four gay?
Lol it's been a long time, but Nega Bushroot was my favorite to draw. And yes- I often had the four of them be in a polyamorous relationship, just cause. I don't think I ever gave them HC sexualities though- they just were drawn to each other and that bond blossomed into their harmonious relationship. They just wuv each other.

DR. REGINALD BUSHROOT
First Appearance: Darkwing Beyond #14
Dimension: Limbo
Allegiance: Neutral
Reginald Bushroot was once a normal duck employed at St. Canard University. He worked as a Botanist alongside others, including Rhoda Dendron. While Dendron was kind to him, two others took great joy in bullying him. It also doesn’t help that the Dean wasn’t interested in his work. While in theory it could end world hunger, he can’t profit off of it if it’s successful. Despierate, Reginald decides to test the experiment on himself.
His intention was to make it so animals can use photosynthesis to sustain themselves and after doing it on himself it worked. But doing so turned him into a half plant/half duck creature. He scared Dendron and was taunted by his other peers, but in his means to escape he found out he can talk to and control plants. Using this, originally wanting to do good, he used his newfound powers to get revenge on the people who forced him down this path.
When he found out that Dr. Dendron still thinks highly of her, this began his never ending quest to find someone he can spend time with (minus that one time he made counterfeit money). Eventually, he would be successful in creating a son in the form of a seedling. He was going to happily retire until Nega Duck forced him to become part of the Fearsome Five. Seeing no choice, he sent the Seedling to Dr. Dendron with a letter of apology as he became part of Nega Duck’s group.
He still enjoyed his time there, after all he was with four others who share similar sentiments on their current situation, but with Nega Duck in charge it would likely lead to their doom. And on one fateful day, it did. The explosion that took out Darkwing destroyed every single piece of Bushroot. He was gone forever. He now resides in limbo where the fight to go to Paradise of Hades begins for him.

Fun Fact:
My favorite Part of the Ducktales Reboot Darkwing Duck episode was when both Darkwing and Launchpad said the same thing I did about Bushroot.
