Round 1, Match 18 - Necrid vs Xiba
Again, these characters only appeared in one game each, so it will be interesting to see who made a stronger impression!

In the comic near the beginning he gets staked for offering "eternal life" and I'm thinking he's probably not talking about the "do you want to hear about Jesus" kind but then what? Did he actually intend to fuck with human genetics or something? And when that plan went to shit he just dumped the project? Into a pile of other failed or abandoned projects somewhere in the dark depths of the spire?
I have two ideas for this
1.he actually meant enteral life via genetic fuckery, likely splicing the necrids own undead-yet-still-living dna into humans and seeing how it'd affect them.
this was abandoned because after having to drag an unconscious person onto the spire (because no one trusts him enough to go willingly) several times, he decided that it was too much work and dumped the project (and the people LMAO)
2. he meant reanimation but was packaging it as eternal life to sound more appealing to humans. If you consider the fact that he is a necrid himself, it would be fair to assume he knows how the necrid are reanimated, and could potentially apply that same process to humans.
This was abandoned because he couldn't keep them from deteriorating, or it just wouldnt work, the biology between the necrids and humans was too different for it to work
these experiments were just incinerated, it was the easiest way to get rid of them

see theres that but theres also the problem of needing to bring back the old classi ccharacters and their playstyles forever. the heihachi mains since tekken 3 who dont care about story are over the moon and harada thinks of em
I was a Necrid main this argument means nothing to me
Several characters carry on Heihachi’s legacy and parts of his kit, their skill sets will transfer some to those characters. But they should have at least made it a non-canon thing, twisting the story in knots just to justify bringing him back is the real sin here
The people who do care about the story aren’t wrong for rolling their eyes

3. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Konami, 2004)

My introduction to the series, Necrid♥️, Talim😍 & Nightmare🥺 rewriting my brain chemistry, the Soul Calibur sword being trapped inside Inferno looking all evil is it's coolest design imo, my personal favourite design & voice for Nightmare, "𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝙂𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘦!" Raise Thy Sword & Hellfire are absolute fucking bangers, Astaroth saying "𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗦", Link & Spawn are funny, Voldo technically being my first introduction to what gimps are(I was like 5 at the time) which was met with a resounding "neat, he moves funny, I like that he's purple", (same goes w/ Ivy too now that I think about it lol), Charade being the coolest rng fighter imo, Xianghua🫦 my belov-

This weird bootleg Soul Calibur III I found at a flea market...
Tumblr media
When I put in the game, I got a blank thumbnail and it just said "New Soul"
Tumblr media
More blank screens, and one of the characters on the title screen was some random CAS male dancer, and Link, who isn't even supposed to be in III. Oh well, why am I questioning this? The screen also flickers and blacks out frequently. The colors are also very dim, something I saw throughout playing. Also, the game is either silent, or plays same song plays throughout the whole game, a terrible rendition of this: https://youtu.be/sIO0haikkPg . Well, you also get the classic soul calibur sound effects when you select anything.
Tumblr media
Once I tapped the screen to start, it led straight into the character select, with Soul Calibur II portaits on the top. The available characters are Link (From the Legend of Zelda and the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur II), Cassandra, Talim, Yoshimitsu, Heihachi (From Tekken and the PS2 version of Soul Calibur II), Necrid, Xianghua, and Spawn (In the XBOX version of Soul Calibur II. The dancer on the title screen wasn't there either. Use the d pad to scroll through the selection, then tap to pick character.
Tumblr media
These are how the graphics look, terrible stop motion graphics. My opponent (Link) was mostly just standing there, only swiping at me once in a while. At first, I wondered why my buttons didn't work, until I realized I HAD TO USE THE TOUCH SCREEN TO DO ANYTHING!!!
Tumblr media
After the match was over, the screen went black and cut straight to the character creation. It looked like terrible clipart, flash animation and the accessories were all poorly drawn. I made my character anyway, but every now and then, the screen would fade out and flash to a full body portait of some random Soul Calibur character with glowing eyes. When it cut back to creation mode, I just finished my character. The screen faded to black again and this time, nothing happened. After several minutes, I decided to restart the game. After tapping the title screen, it just cut to black with an animation of red smoke with the words "the end". Then it just froze. The game was so terrible and boring, I didn't bother with it again.
