End-of-hiatus-countdown: Random Sketches I did in between my lessons

had a dream nebby got into shitbin motel and only found out bc i asked one of my irl friends if i could borrow a sketchbook & they said no bc last time i drew some "really weird stuff" and i opened it to the most recent page at it was the red radio dude

The rest of my Ultra Sun team! Cuz WHY NOT! I enjoy me some pokémon. I named all my pokémon on this team and their names are Crona(Primarina), Junichi(Lycanroc), Reina Maria(Tsareena), Mimi(Mimikyu), Gajeel(Kommo-o), and Nebby(Lunala, I just left the name as Nebby) ^^

I haven't drawn them in forever and decided to redesign them, I only drew them in my old notebooks and sketchbooks. Might do my Omega Ruby team too, and other random things.

You have a message from the Alola region's own Professor Kukui!

Jess stared at her computer screen, holding back a yawn as the video call icon vibrated constantly. The black haired female sat on a rolling chair, wearing pink pajamas with black polkadots. Sitting on her lap was a male Pikachu with a red and black fedora on his head.

What did Kukui want at two in the morning?

She clicked on the icon and the video chat opened up to reveal the bare-chested, sunglass-wearing professor himself.

"Alola, Jess and Ace! How are you today?" Kukui smiled.

"Professor, it's two in the morning. How do you think we're doing?" Jess deadpanned along with her Pikachu.

"Pika..."

"And this is new. Usually, you'd let yourself into my home to tell me things."

"Sorry about that." The man rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "I'm somewhere else at the moment. And it's been so long since we last saw each other, so..."

As Kukui talked, Jess was drifting off both in sleep and memory. It seemed almost a year since she first got a message from Kukui welcoming her to Alola for the first time. She remembered how she initially hated the big move her family made and the anxiety, but as she spent more time in Alola on her journey, she grew to love it as her favorite region to be in. However... she wished there was more to the region than just relaxation.

As if reading her mind, Professor Kukui spoke up. "Yeah, about the reason I called you. I've been talking to your family and friends lately. It seems that you and your Pokemon are feeling a bit down." That woke the woman up immediately.

"No, no! I'm fine... we're fine! It's just so nice and peaceful in Alola." She insisted. "Ace is doing fine, we meet new Pokemon every day, and it's all around good."

"And how's Lunala feeling?"

"Lelouch? Oh, he's doing great. He still misses Lillie, but he enjoys Alola so much now."

When she finished her sentence, a voice called out from outside. "Jess, your Nebby is throwing out  bags again!" Jess and Ace face-palmed.

"I see... well, the reason I'm asking is because I believe you're in need of a new challenge. A new set of trials! How does going to a new region sound?"

Wait... what?

Jess got up from her seat as Ace hopped onto her desk in shock. "New region?!/Pika?!"

Kukui smirked and nodded, pulling up a picture of a region with several islands. "A sister region to Alola. That's where I am right now. Like Alola, it's made up of several islands and some of those islands are similar to Alola. However, the region has a little bit of every other region as well like gyms and contests. Since you've been to every region, perhaps this region might be a new change of pace you need."

Jess blinked in disbelief. An entire region she had never heard about? This was too good to be true. "How come I never heard of this region?"

"Well, this region is a little more secluded from the other regions. It's closer and more connected to Alola due to the two being sister regions. After talking about it with others, I got the ferry tickets for you. Take it as not only a new challenge, but a vacation as well. Everyone is pretty nice there and the Pokemon Professor, Tala, will welcome you with open arms! You could even invite a couple of people. Maybe some of your old friends. What did you call them?"

"The Voracious Gang?" The Voracious Gang were an interesting trio that were each connected to her family and ex-criminals. One was a lone rebel, another used to lead a team, and the third could even communicate with legendary Pokemon! For some odd reason, the three got together, found things in common, and decided to hang out together.

Sure, Kukui was the more optimistic type of person, but for him to suggest taking a gang in a new region with her was still shocking.

Jess looked away. "I dunno..."

"Just please try it out. You could always call me or your mom and brother if you want and you could always visit, yeah." Kukui insisted. "You're a champion and I know you and your Pokemon could do it."

"Well, when you put it that way.... sure!" The woman slowly smiled and picked up Ace. "You're right. What was I worried about? I took some risks before taking the Island Challenge. Alola grew on me, so the sister region should do the same. I'll like to go!"

"Great! I hope to see you there! I'll let ya get back to sleep and I'll confirm it with your mom the next morning."

"Okay, Goodnight, Kukui!" With that, Jess waved and turned off the video chat, eager to get to bed with her Pokemon and dream about what would lie ahead in this new region. Kukui was right. Maybe a fresh new start was what she and her Pokemon needed. And she handled unexpected surprises and diaster before. How bad could it be?

Several Hours Later...

Out at sea, a terrible storm was brewing strong. The ship rocked violently against the waves. Thunder crashed. Lightning flashed constantly. A large wormhole in the sky opened up. From it, a menacing, dark pokemon emerged with prisms on its arms. Flying towards it was a Lunala with Jess, Ace, and a Rotom Dex on its back. Both pokemon flew at each other and cried out.

They clashed.

Lightning flashed.

A blinding barrage of lights.

... Jess found herself being crushed by a claw of the dark pokemon while the other claw was clenching one of her wrists. The wrist that had the Z-ring.

Another flash and a particularly large thunder bolt.

The last thing Jess remembered was falling towards the ocean along with her fainted Pikachu, a literally crushed Rotom-Dex, and a dull Z-ring. All of her Z-crystals scattered and flew in the air. Then they all fell down.

.... Jess blacked out.

.... Meanwhile in another island...

Around the same time, someone was having problems of their own. A young woman with short purple hair, light tan skin, and casual clothing raced through many trees, avoiding the shouts and incoming shadow balls. She carried a rather large sketchbook in hand along with a backpack. Four people were in pursuit of her and were coming in fast.

The woman finally reached the end of the trees and entered a secluded beach, panting heavily. Her eyes darted back and forth until she spotted a Lapras by the shore.

"She's nearby!" A voice broke the silence. "This way." She had no choice and had to leave it up to fate. She rushed towards the Lapras, who had been startled awake, and pleaded. "Help me, please!" The Lapras nodded. Just when the group had arrived, the woman was riding on Lapras's back out to sea with Lapras creating a large wave behind them to distract the pursuers. The four people stopped and stared into the night time sky, losing track of their target... for now.
