There is something utterly delightful about finishing a project in such a way as to make it look unfinished. I’ve had the stitching on the piece done for a few months but hadn’t decided how I wanted to display it, so it’s just been sitting (lol).
Finally decided yesterday to go this route and frame it in the hoop “as is”, and added a round of blanket stitch around the edges of the fabric to finish it, and every time I have look at it since it has made me laugh, so I consider that a success!
Original pattern is by Snapdragon Stitches (pattern link here).

really been exploring the concept of aplatonic, but i do worry it'll alienate people from me... it's just the sense that the way i perceive people and my relationships with them as important comes from something that is not unemotional, but so outside of anything i have ever really been able to understand via dominant concepts. i've been exploring the limitations and vagueness of a word like love for myself and come up still very confused and distanced from it. so now i start to wonder what is it i do "feel" and does it even need to be calculated and defined so particularly? but in the meantime aplatonic concepts do seem to be exploring this in ways i dont see elsewhere in queer spaces, never mind more mainstream. it's interesting. it deserves some thinking about

If u use "retarded" or any variation of it as an insult then nothing you say is valid and you're immediately dumb as shit. Not sorry I do make the rules :/

all fun and games having an autistic mum and an ADHD dad until your mum can't fathom why you're disorganised and can't just Get On With Things and your dad thinks you're fussy, peculiar, way too sincere and a humourless fun sponge 😞

reading through an old fic and
He wasn’t necessarily ‘stupid’. It was just that when he grew up he learnt a lot of harmful stereotypes about developmentally disabled people. That they didn’t talk, didn’t have emotions, weren’t able to take care of themselves. That they were burdens on their caretakers and on society. That doing something ‘stereotypically developmentally disabled’, such as rocking, flapping, babbling nonsense words, not understanding jokes or sarcasm, not understanding societal norms regarding appearance and behaviour, was stupid and ‘bad’. So when you get to learn that you are one of them, you also need to unlearn all those things or you’ll end up hating yourself.

Work with your brain, not against it
I find that when I'm at home and I can work with my brain (as opposed to against it like is required of me at work), I can still get things done and I'm considerably less exhausted and more satisfied at the end of the day. Truth is... following the dopamine and letting yourself get distracted enough times will eventually bring you full circle to being distracted BY the thing you were initially distracted FROM. Plus you got 38 other tasks started in the meantime. And let's be honest here, starting is often the hardest part. So.. WIN WIN! So don't get frustrated when you can't focus. (If you're working... Save the frustration for when you're on company time LOL) Roll with it.. And you'll eventually roll right back around!
