—why did you choose those names?

i chose names somewhat relating to the boys, if not then it's something that relates to the mother.

—how?

mark lee

...yun [love interest]-

bada lee [daughter]- bada means ocean. mark mentioned that his favourite colour was blue and specifically the shade of the ocean.

renjun huang

narae ahn [love interest]- narae means wing, and it just gives me renjun vibes.

moon huang [son]- moon because it reminds me of moomin which renjun likes.

yeona wang [love interest]- wang meaning prince, "family work"/associated with zhong meaning loyalty and yeona meaning the one with a heart of gold, just cause :p.

—how did you choose their careers?

i thought to make their jobs be something that they would've been if they weren't idols, which also inspired me to make this series. or i choose something else because i couldn't find out what they wanted to be and or depending on the plot of my ideas. for the girls though- they were chosen for the purpose of the plot!

—why did you choose them?

mark - author, because he mentioned that if he weren't an idol, he'd want to be an author.

renjun - artist, because he does/likes art. and he also mentioned that if he weren't an idol, he'd want to do something related to art.

jeno - architect, because i could swear i saw somewhere that that's what he want to be. also had to choose it for the sake of his story. but fun fact! i was about to make jeno a firefighter bcos well...yk...this idea was from the fact that he wanted to be a fireTRUCK. + i do know that he would've wanted to be a car designer.

haechan - pro gamer, because i love the concept of him playing games + for the purpose of the plot! also what he's mentioned that he wanted to be was something related to music and dancing, which is vague. and also heard somewhere that he wanted to be a mystery shopper? and i have no clue what even???

jaemin - surgeon, a pediatrician in specific. he's mentioned multiple times that he wanted to be a surgeon! which i love, also was my dream job as a child and made him a peds doctor becuase well this is a dad au and also jaemin and kids?!?!

chenle - ceo, couldn't find anything of what chenle said he wanted to be, so i made him ceo becuase well we all know that he's really well off. and well president chenle :p

—what inspired you to start this series?

i love the concept of the dreamies being dads and also i was inspired by @bts-reveries because she did something like this where it was a dad au and it was all connected! which i loved and miss, but wanted one with nct dream, but there's none and so i decided to make it myself!

—what inspired you for the stories?

at first i didn't really think about it and tbh just started planning the names or what not and tried to connect them somehow and also just randomly thinking, as well as getting ideas from my cousin, and taking other plots i see in a movie, show, or something i read etc.

—where do you get inspo from?

with the whole dreamies being a dad thing, the interacts and such are inspired from the korean reality show "the return of superman!" it's basically a show where celebrities who are fathers, show their daily life with their kid(s)! without the presence of the mothers.

—how did you choose the titles?

based on the rough plot i created for each story, i tried to base it off a nct dream songs from their recent album. so for example, taking my plot, i tried to find a song from their album "hello future" that relates to the plot somehow, and i took a line, for eg. because i met you, is a line in hello future. fall into your arms, is a line in dive into you!

*Bonus: Some people asked for an OC version of this story to use instead of as a classic insert. Although Prominence will remain a Reader Insert (aka, use of 2nd person and (Y/N)) I decided to make an OC for those people to use as well! OC Information will be in [Bold Brackets] except for Jung Yeona’s (The OC for (Y/N) section, which will be under the usual reader insert section.

According to Story

Prominence: NCT ANiMA derives from the psychological term anima, which is defined as the “feminine side of the male persona,” fitting for a unit that was added to a previously all-male group. Jung (Y/N) belongs to this one.

Concept

For both existing forms of ANiMA, their concept is similar. Time travel with a hint of future technology, they tend to carry rather “powerful” concepts not often seen in many girl groups, but that doesn’t go to say they can’t handle other concepts. Aside from time travel technology, some of their music videos tend to have a hint of magic in them.

On January 1st 2021 it was revealed that she has been in a relationship with ATEEZ’s Park Seonghwa for four months. Although, as of January 2022, it was revealed that they have broken up.

★ ꜛ ࣪ ˖ ❘❙❚ NCT STARS is a fictional unit of nct, consisting of their female members. in december 2013, smrookies announced BAEK SEOYEON and KOJIMA HARUWA as part of the pre-debut project. baek seoyeon debuted as a soloist is 2014 under the stage name YEONA. the soloist reached pretty decent success with her first single “MIRROR”. in 2015, HWANG JIMIN and KWON ISEUL made their smrookie debuts through mickey mouse clubhouse. additionally, WANG XINYU made her smrookies debut.

2016 saw the debut of NEO CULTURE TECHNOLOGY / NCT and after no activity for two years, yeona debuted with “THE SEVENTH SENSE” unit. she also went on to debut in NCT 127 with “FIRETRUCK”, and jimin, now GIGI and iseul debuted in NCT DREAM with “CHEWING GUM”. there was controversy however with the debut. after both the debuts of red velvet and nct, fans were left wondering where haruwa and xinyu would be debuting. however, haruwa was featured on “GOOD AT LOVE” with yeona, gigi and iseul. additionally, there was anger from her solo stans on yeona’s solo career being put on the back burner.

a year after nct 127’s initial debut, they released “LIMITLESS” which added three new members to the unit, johnny, doyoung and nct dream’s gigi. in 2018, during nct’s EMPATHY era, kun, ten and haruwa made their nct comebacks after being in previous singles. jungwoo and xinyu, now known as IVY made their debuts in “BOSS” and while jungwoo was put in nct 127 for the “REGULAR” era, ivy was being teased as part of the chinese unit, at the time allegedly called NCT VISION. along with the empathy era, sm surprised nctzens with an unofficial NCT STARS first single “HOT ISSUE” which had a lineup consisting of yeona, haruwa, ivy, gigi and iseul. in july, their first mini album “TALK THAT TALK” debuted. this was the first time sm officially addressed the unit as an official promoting unit and announced positions. notably naming yeona as the leader. at the same time four new smrookies were being teased, hendery, xiaojun, HSU JIAYIN and yangyang. at the end of 2018, mark and gigi graduated from nct dream and were to promote solely in 127 and in gigi’s case nct stars.

in 2019, ivy and jiayin debut in january as part of wayv, and a few months later the ladder made her stars debut in “OH MY GOD”. and at in june 2019, yeona was announced to be going on haitus for all activities. nct 127 saw jungwoo also go on hiatus and although he came back for their 2020 “KICK IT” era, yeona missed it and shortly had a solo comeback with her mini album “BECOMING YEONA”. her 127 comeback was “PUNCH” and in august the girl’s unit cameback with their third mini album “NXDE”, which featured the voice of gigi but not herself as she had been on hiatus since april of that year after a scandal broke out over her reaction on vlive with haechan and jungwoo on returning to nct dream. gigi stayed on hiatus through nct’s RESONANCE era ( which saw the debut of sungchan, shotaro and ARAI IZUMI ) although her voice featured most of the tracks, and made her nct dream comeback with mark on the album, she did not feature in any promotions until “LOVEHOLIC” for 127 and “HOT SAUCE” for dream. stars released their first full length album “ANTIFRAGILE” in july which was izumi’s debut as part of a unit. since the UNIVERSE era, the girls have had two comebacks, in july 2022 “SHUTDOWN”, their fourth mini album and in january 2023, “I AM”. as of right now it is rumoured that smrookie, MOON YESOL will eventually be added to the lineup.

Not Alone | Pt. 01

Summary: Hayoon has never had an easy life. From a very early age she learned that if she wanted to be a known designer, she would have to work harder than most. After years of working odd jobs since high school trying to take care of her family, at the age of 29 she has finally been offered the opportunity to become a stylist for one of the top entertainment companies in South Korea: SM Entertainment. Little does she know that working there will change her life forever.

Fashion, idols and love all in one. Will she be able to handle it, or will the pressure of it all make her give up on her dreams?

A/N: My first NCT fanfic. I named the female character Hayoon. Though I wrote her a bit more mature, you can change her name to yours if you want. It’s written in 3rd person. I feel like I should add the (obvious) disclaimer that the story is not real, and though the characters are inspired by the members of NCT, they are not the members.

PS. The name of the story is inspired by NCT 127’s Not Alone.

Hayoon looked up at the SM Entertainment building across the street. As she crossed the street towards her new future, she couldn’t help but feel too calm. She had worked several odd jobs all through high school and college so she had been through countless terrible bosses and costumers; she wasn’t new to the ugly side of people, but she had never once worked in the entertainment industry. It wasn’t her first choice, seeing that what she wanted to be was a fashion designer, but she knew this was an opportunity to start getting her name out there and getting to know people. Connections were a must to make it in the fashion world.

She wasn’t up to date with SM’s groups. She knew of EXO because of her best friends little sister, but she herself wasn’t into kpop. In fact she wasn’t even sure what kind of music she was into period. She usually worked on designs in silence and whatever music she did happen to hear would be random songs playing at the bar three blocks from her apartment.

Being a normally optimistic person, she would rarely have moments of feeling like a total failure, but when she had them she had them good. A week after she had interviewed for the position and had yet to receive a call from SM or any other job interview she had gone to that same week, she sat in her apartment floor with a couple of soju bottles with her sisters Minsuh and Yeona. Her younger sisters had sensed her need of moral support and came running to her aid.

They were still young, Minsuh was 21 and Yeona 25, but they were both already making a name for themselves. Minsuh was a photographer and Yeona was a painter. The three of them had come out artists. Minsuh and Yeona always said Hayoon was the reason, their inspiration to not be afraid to do what they loved, but being their inspiration meant putting what she loved to do on hold. Hayoon had raised her sisters after their mother left and their father fell ill. It was one of the reasons she had so many jobs at an early age. A house of four to feed, rent due and hospital bills to pay among other things. She didn’t blame her sisters, she loved watching them thrive and felt a sense of accomplishment.

She didn’t blame her father either, watching him recover and go back to work made her feel at ease. But now she was looking for her own sense of accomplishment and hopefully this was it.

With a badge that said her name hanging from her neck, she walked into the empty elevator.

“Hold the door!” she heard someone yell. She pressed the button quickly letting a young man stumble in. The doors closed behind him. “Thank you,” he panted straightening up.

“You’re welcome. What floor?”

“Oh, seven please,” he smiled, dimples forming on both sides of his face. He was tall, or at least taller than her. He had soft features, a nice nose and deep eyes. He was very handsome. She thought he would be Minsuh’s type.

She started to think about what she knew of the project her new boss had mentioned she would form part of when the elevator stopped and the lights flickered.

“This is not happening,” she sighed.

The young man pressed the emergency button. They waited for someone to speak through the speaker on the panel. “Hello? Is everyone ok?” a voice came seconds later.

“Hi. Yes, we’re ok,” he answered calmly.

“We’ve called someone already. So hold on tight,” the voice informed them.

Hayoon looked at her watch and suppressed the need to grunt in frustration. She wasn’t a superstitious person, but she did feel like she was too calm for her first day at a new job. And not just any job, but the job that could help her become someone.

“They won’t be long,” he spoke to her.

She looked up at him. “Yes. Thank you.”

“Sometimes we lose the signal inside these, but I think we still have some if you need to call anyone,” he said looking at his phone briefly before putting it back in his pocket after sending a text message.

“Thank you,” she smiled politely before reaching for her phone. She had no signal. She sighed closing her eyes.

“Here,” he offered his phone, a gentle smile on his lips. “You can use mine.”

“Are you sure? I can wait.” She lied, she was starting to feel nervous about arriving late her first day.

“I’m sure,” he offered her the phone again.

“Thank you. I won’t take long,” she took it and dialed the number she remembered was her contact. “Hi yes, this is Seo Hayoon. I’m supposed to have my first meeting with Lee Eun Seok in a few minutes but I’m going to be arriving a bit late. I’m currently stuck in the elevator on my way to your floor,” she bit her lip hoping this wouldn’t ruin her first impression. Yes, it was out of her control, but being late wasn’t a thing she liked doing. “Thank you,” she answered feeling a bit calmer. The woman that had answered the phone had been polite and had let Lee Eun Seok know of her situation. Hanging up she let out a breath she had been holding.

“Everything went well?” he smiled at her. He leaned against the wall, hands laced together in front of him. He had been looking at her the whole time. She had soft hair that rested on her shoulders, a small nose, soft freckles on her cheeks and full lips. She was attractive.

She smiled giving him the phone back. “Yes, thank you for lending me your phone.”

“You’re welcome. You don’t need to worry too much, Lee Eun Seok is very understanding,” he offered her some encouraging words hoping she wouldn’t take offense in him listening in on her conversation.

“You work with her?” she asked hoping to know something about her new boss.

“I do. She’s very diligent, hardworking, she believes in working as a team to get the job done. She’s also known for being a mother hen to the idols even though she tries to hide it by acting tough with them,” he laughed. The elevator suddenly stirred, the lights flickering. “We’re moving,” he looked at the numbers going up. The doors opened at the seventh floor. “This is my floor. Good luck,” he gave her one last smile and a small bow before walking out.

She laughed a bit. He didn’t tell her his name yet had heard her conversation and tried to make her feel at ease under the situation they were. She smiled feeling thankful before walking out the elevator on the tenth floor.
