1x3 NCIS SYDNEY THOUGHTS
HI GUYS I JUST WATCHED EP 3.
YOU CANNOT TELL ME THERE IS NOT TENSION BETWEEN BLUE AND MACKEY. THERE IS SUCH A LARGE SPARK THAT IT COULD START A FIRE.
I felt so passionately abt this that I made an edit 😭 . Here is is if anyone wants to see it!
I MADE IT A TAD BIT ANGSY.
Anyways on to much more happier news!
Im so glad they let blue stay and join the team.
I honestly saw that coming because there is no point to introduce a character, have us get to know her and do all of this just to send her away.
Alsoo, since there is only 8 eps in this season and we are 3 eps in. What do you guys think the finale will be about? I'm predicting it has something to do with the government, what happened at the end of ep 3 where they found out the sulilience boat thingy belonged to the US. Maybe we will find out why they were looking in Australia waters in secret and why that guy was trying to cover it up ?? You guys think we'll see him again?? Me thinks maybe.

I agree with the though that it was rushed like everything felt like it happened too soon and they solved the case so fast like you could guess what would happen but then also I agree that the doctor reminded me of ducky but also ducky and ellie's dynamic or Jimmy and ducky's dynamic with doctor and blue (idk if u get what I'm trying to say) but then also it felt way too soon for them to be all close and family like did they not just meet ??
break down of how i felt with the first ep of NCIS SYDNEY
Bro for the first episode of the season they put WAY too much info and details into it… like for a first episode you gotta have a great introduction to the characters WHILE also having a rlly good engaging crime plot to it… like a navy sailor died and it’s about WHO is incharge of the investigation: the Australian Feds cos he died in Australia or NCIS because the person that is dead is a Navy sailor. But on top of that I feel like they pushed the whole “corruption of investigations” and “cliffhangers” WAY too early in the series.
If you look at the beginning episodes of other shows you can notice that you get introduced to the characters and their style of investigating or way they go about solving crimes and communicating with one another.
That isn’t to say I didn’t LOVE the show. It was good. But it felt rushed. Like they wanted to include EVERYTHING each NCIS show has:
The humour elements of NCIS AND NCIS LA
The cockiness and willingness to push other agencies into being a part of the investigation which is actually in all 4 NCIS shows
Kinda forcing the family vibe that NCIS LA gives
The lone wolf vibes (NCIS = Gibbs, NCIS LA = Callen (even Hetty), NCIS NO = ig that’s Pride (need to watch that series more). I think JD is giving those lone wolf vibes.
The potential enemies to lovers arch. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE AN AUSSIE VERSION OF DENSI I BEG OF YOU YOUR WASTING YOUR WRITING TIME!!’ Think of smth better than that come onnnn
although i do love how they added an autopsy doctor with his OWN unique personality but at the same time somewhat similar to Ducky from NCIS (may he rest in peace) and Wade from NCIS New Orleans.
I guess what I’m trying to say is it’s pretty rushed for a first episode with introducing the characters and their personalities BUT I AM excited to see how this series pans out AND the characters backstories.
if u wanna read another opinion check out my recent reblog with @caliburn-the-sword 's thoughts-

NCIS SYDNEY
i literally came on tumblr for the first time in MONTHS just to talk about this show 😭. i need to find people who have seen THIS.
What do we think about the first 2 eps??
I love blue she's so adorable. I'm just dying at the part where she accidently made the parrot call mackey a dumbass for the rest of the ep.
Also I lowkey think blue has a crush on mackey
I also ship constable and DeShawn
The doc reminds me of ducky
Also I love how up to date the show is. I mean it's kinda relevant to today's generation with the Boba tea obsession and tik tok . That's what I loved about the most recent season of the og ncis, they talked about Gen z slang and such. Being a member of Gen z myself, I loved seeing something I could relate to be incorpated into a show I love very much

HI OMG
I just realized you write for NCIS: Sydney and I can't find anything for that show at all.
I'm currently on a trip around Europe and I binged the entire series over a 10 hour flight. I'm actually obsessed. A lived in Australia for about 6 years so that's show was just an instant comfort for me I don't know 😭
If this sparks some inspiration, do you think you could write something for JD Dempsey (NSFW if it it seems appropriate with your idea or not I don't mind), with the Taylor Swift TTPD Prompt 20: "His hands so calloused from his pistol/Softly traces hearts on my face"
Thank you so much! Hope you're doing well, much love!! 💕
Oh Babe, I love the show. I'm bummed out the season was so short but so happy they got a new one!
I write for JD, DeShawn and Mackey if you ever feel like hitting me up!

The scent of cordite clings to JD’s bare skin. His palm resting on your throat, his fingers squeezing just a little as his forehead rests on yours, his vibrant blue eyes staring into the depths of your soul. You can’t tear yourself away, you’re drowning in that rich hue as he presses himself inside of you inch by tantalising inch.
“That’s it sweet girl.” He whispers as he fills you. “You know exactly how to take me don’t you?”
You can’t speak, you can only exhale as his thumb traces a light pattern over your jugular, your pulse flutters underneath the pressure. His hips begin to move, short shallow thrusts that send you hurtling into the stratosphere with every motion. Your thighs tighten around his waist and it’s his turn to moan as you draw him even deeper.
“Oh honey, you need me that bad huh?” He whispers, his lips brushing over yours.
You respond by scratching your nails down his back and he hisses at the sensation, plunging hard into you, his grip on your throat tightening. Your breathing hitches, the ecstasy chasing through your nerve endings as he holds you right there at the precipice of nirvana.
“Jim…” You murmur and those words, those three little words they are right there on the tip of your tongue.
“Don’t say it.” He whispers, his lips ghosting over yours. “Let’s not ruin a good thing.”

ah, the things your sibling texts you when you are a radiation safety officer.
The dose was elsewhere given in layperson's terms as "ten x-rays per hour" which, using the RADAR Medical Procedure rough estimate, and a high-dose procedure (lumbar spine), gives me something on the order of 7 mSv/hour (700 mrem/hour). This is, in fact, pretty bad; for reference, the NRC's goal for the general public is 5 mSv (500 mrem) per year, and as a radiation worker, if I were to get about half that dose (that is to say, the dose from being in close proximity with this capsule, unshielded, for an hour) this would trigger an investigation into what I was doing.
With all that said, dose limits are intentionally fairly conservative, and you would need to handle this for quite a long time continuously to get a fatal dose. The Guardian reports it as being 19 Bq (about 0.5 nCi), incidentally, which is a pretty standard Cs-137 test source. Like, if you know a nuclear medicine technologist, they probably handle a very similar source regularly, but for brief periods at a time.
Anyway, if you're in Western Australia, do pay attention to this and if you see a weird metal thing on the road, matching this description, don't touch it! Follow the instructions of authorities! But, that said, the good thing about radiation is that your dose drops off steeply if you keep a distance. Unless you are in close proximity for an extended period of time, you are not at risk.
(On the other hand, from that same safety officer standpoint, I am screaming into a pillow. No one checked this en route? No one ensured this was in a secure container? No one checked this on delivery? This is in violation of like 5 separate parts of HAZMAT training in the US, and probably in Australia too.)
#welcome to cursed physics knowledge with me#also yes. all of radiation physics in the us anyway is done in both metric and imperial. it sucks.#i'm more comfortable with sieverts/gray for dose but also all activities are still given in curies so 19 bq was hard to conceptualize

Paramount and the revived Republic Pictures are betting on indie films to complement their tentpole movies like Mission Impossible and Gladiator II.
The studio’s chief content licensing officer Dan Cohen spoke at a MIPCOM Media Mastermind Keynote Session in Cannes Tuesday afternoon, confirming the U.S. and Canadian rights to their “Coen brothers-esque” noir film Adulthood, directed by Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure Star Alex Winter, has been picked up by Republic Pictures.
“You get an announcement today,” Cohen, also president of Republic Pictures, told World Screen’s Anna Carugati, who was moderating. “We have a film coming called Adulthood. It’s a bit of a Coen brothers-esque [story]. It stars Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario. It’s a really fun movie. We also have a film called Bad Apples coming from Saoirse Ronan, a four-time Oscar nominee and I think a good actor working today.”
He continued: “So we’re trying to do interesting, indie films to complement the huge tentpole movies [like] Mission Impossible, Gladiator II at Christmas, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at Christmas.”
The session was dominated by the buzz aroundNCIS spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva, created by John McNamara and starring returning actors Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, who also serve as executive producers on the program. “Their episodes are just magic. Their chemistry is undeniable. They are absolute fan favorites,” Cohen said, before a short teaser trailer for the upcoming series that showed the characters rekindling the flame while raising their young daughter.
Cohen continued: “Yes, they’ve done a few cameos, but they have not been together on air for 12 years, and this is the story fans asked about the most.”
Pablo said of the show, expected in 2025: “I think the fans have always wanted to see what happened between [Tony and Ziva]… We find them in Europe raising their child, who’s almost a teenager, fantastic little Tali, and they are trying to make their relationship work.”
Weatherly emphasized the global appeal of NCIS that has bolstered the energy behind this spinoff. “I had the opportunity, with NCIS, to travel to Australia, Italy and Germany and England and France, and it became this very clear, international show. It’s that global impact… It’s about a family in jeopardy, in peril, trying to find a way to do the right thing, inhaling circumstances, two people trying to communicate, two people trying to love each other.”

Do you think there's a chance a streaming service will pick ncis:h? I've signed the petition but do we dare to hope? I'm tired of this happening all the time. I just dont understand. It was doing fine in ratings and it's a part of a franchise that keeps getting more spin offs? How that makes sense? Do you know the ratings compared with the others ncis shows? Sorry im asking you but im not from usa and i have no idea how american netwoks work. So sad rn.
okay SO i am also not from the us but have done this dance before sooooo:
1) from what i’ve heard, they were planning to move either another ncis show (i think sydney?) or another cbs show to paramount plus - which they now are no longer doing. in theory yes, this opens up the possibility for ncishi to move over there; in practice, i’m not holding my breath, as typically that negotiation would happen before a cancellation announcement
2) how does it make sense? the honest answer is that it doesn’t. like, it really doesn’t. it’s been holding steady at sixth of 14 cbs shows in the ratings (which is a brilliant number, ensures it’s profitable, and is also impressive for a procedural that’s still relatively new). it’s been beating a LOT of other crime procedurals in viewership and viewer retention, and reviewers have been singing its praises. i think this is why it feels so much as if it’s because they just view this show as less valuable (socially and economically) than their usual white guy cop shows; it’s very difficult to argue that your profitable, successful show is too expensive when you’re flying cast and crews across - or, potentially, internationally to - australia, to continue a less-highly-rated show with no issue.
3) as far as ratings go - ncis hawai’i episodes were pulling in as many as 10 million viewers last year (s2 e10 came in with 10.5 mil, as per variety telecast viewership reports) which has it going toe to toe with the core ncis (seems to pull approx. 8-10mil per episode, via hollywood reporter). for the 18-49 demographic across us series, ncis hawaii is ranking at #13 of #21 as per tvseriesfinale.com - this is significantly above ncis sydney (renewed, #15), and elsbeth (#19, renewed), two other cbs shows, one of which in particular is incredibly expensive. crucially, ncishi has actually increased its viewership, which is VERY difficult to do on a year to year basis. its up by 4.18% among 18 to 49 year olds - for comparison the core NCIS is down 0.83% and fbi international - a competing show - is down by 3.73%. bear in mind that even a single percentage point represents hundreds of thousands of viewers.
i also want to point out that ranking at #13 isn’t strictly representative of viewer numbers, it’s about percentage of viewers that are within that core age bracket. the neighbourhood is ranking at #6, but only pulling in 4.8 million viewers - ncishi is at #13, and pulling in 5.2 million. ncishi pulls in over half a million more viewers than four shows ranked above it in that chart.
so essentially - it doesn’t make sense. from any perspective. it doesn’t make sense from a business perspective (ncis sydney is more expensive to produce and brings in approx. 200k less viewers than ncishi, and ncishi crew had already agreed to a shortened, budget-restrained final season), it doesn’t make sense for a ratings perspective (it continues to outperform many of cbs’ own shows, including ones that have been renewed), it doesn’t make sense from a social perspective (people are loving it, even outside of our fandom spaces).
objectively, it’s a really, really bad move by cbs. i also thought being part of a franchise would be a kind of safety net - fool me once, i guess. all the evidence suggests that they just don’t care enough about ncishi, especially when they’ve got their bullshit white guy ncis origins show, a young sheldon spinoff (?? who asked?) and a plethora of other cookie-cutter shows they can just keep going with. and we can make a pretty educated guess as to why, when the main things that set ncishi apart from the other ncis shows are its diversity and character dynamics
(edit: it was pointed out that people aren’t being flown to sydney from the us, which is true, and bad phrasing on my part - but many are flown across australia at seemingly similar costs to mainland us/hawai’i flights, and i believe not all of the leads are based in australia either, so i’ve updated that bit for clarity. apologies!)
#ncis hawaii#i hope this helps ppl understand a little more!#it’s bullshit. like it’s such unbelievable blatant bullshit#ncis hawai’i
