Hell yeah! Gonna break this down a little. First an obligatory rehash of books I always recommend for this, these are like all-time faves for me

Wounds/North American Lake Monsters by Nathan Ballingrud - can't choose between these two, so they're tied for my favorite single author short story collection. Nathan Ballingrud is one of my favorite writers of all time

Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado - a very very close second for my favorite single-author short story collection. Machado is a beautiful writer and finding an author writing such powerful horror from a queer woman's perspective was world changing for me.

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson - COME ON!!!! You might have already read this but consider reading it again! Absolute classic.

The Cipher by Kathe Koja - dark, fucked up meditation on art and addiction and toxic relationships. I think about this book all the time. A guy finds a weird hole in his apartment basement and then everything goes wrong (first slowly and then very very quickly)

Red X by David Demchuk - talked about this a lot before too but I really do love it. Fictional story inspired by real life serial killings that took place in Toronto's gay village over decades. The author inserts essays throughout the book that makes it part memoir as well. A supernatural story about real queer trauma.

Okay with that out of the way, here's some recommendations for stuff I think would be fun for Halloween specifically

Echoes edited by Ellen Datlow - OKAY CHEATING I ALSO RECOMMEND THIS ALL THE TIME BUT IT'S A PERFECT OCTOBER BOOK!!! Fuck-off huge ghost story anthology. Huge range of tones, pretty diverse group of contributing authors, it's my all-time favorite anthology.

Slewfoot by BROM - this one's got major autumn vibes. It's a story of a woman in Puritan New England who's accused of witchcraft. It's also a story about the devil. Kind of. The print version has really amazing paintings by the author, but I've heard this is also good in audio.

Come Closer by Sara Gran - this is a great little novella. Possession story that really packs a punch. I can't really say much more than that, but it's not a huge time investment and I think it's really worthwhile.

Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan LeFanu - if you can, get the version edited by Carmen Maria Machado (she adds in some great footnotes and it has some neat art too). This is a classic and also quite a brisk read. The original lesbian vampire story.

Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia - here's a new release for you! I always watch a ton of horror movies in October, and if you're anything like me maybe you'll want to read a horror novel about horror movies. This story follows a female film editor in 90s Mexico and her washed up actor friend as they help a retired filmmaker complete his famously unfinished last film, which he had been making with a former Nazi occultist before strange misfortunes and the occultist's mysterious disappearance forced production to shut down.

I do understand the issues with edred thorrson, but what is your opinion on the efficacy of his practices of visualizing the runes in a three-dimensional space and using them similarly to sigils? thanks!!

Efficacy for what? You gotta at least give me some page numbers or a summary or something. I don't know Thorsson's system off the top of my head and I don't like reading any more of his shit than I have to. I also don't really know anything about sigil magic. As someone who blogs about actual Nordic traditions this question really has nothing to do with me, and only intersects with my knowledge at all insofar as I'm an antifascist and Thorsson promotes and popularizes völkisch mysticism.

If you're doing sigil magic but with runes rather than some other letters than there's no reason you can't just use the other letters. What's that have to do with Thorsson? Maybe he wrote about it, I dunno, but why wouldn't you read literally any other source about sigil magic? He seems to think that visualizing galdrastafir increases their magic which seems to be pulled out of his ass, or wherever he got it from it has fuck-all to do with any Icelandic tradition. This comes along with his lying about galdrastafir having continuity with pre-Christian magic. The truth is they are more in-context with, like, Shams al-Ma'arif than with the Eddas, which is fine, and the only reason to lie about that is if your system is built on a nonexistent ahistorical "purity."

The only effect that visualizing runes would ever have is increasing your visualization skills, which is fine, but you can do that with anything else; and possibly reinforcing the incorrect idea that runes have fixed shapes. If you absolutely must use runes then... don't? Keep learning until you know enough to stop wanting to do it with runes?

Generally in Thorsson's system visualization has a different purpose, and he also didn't make that one up. He got it from Spiesberger's Runenmagie. I'm not sure if it was fully-formed before Spiesberger or if he synthesized it himself, but boy he sure does cite a lot of Nazis in that section -- Wirth (co-founder of the Ahnenerbe), Marby (the inventor of Rune Yoga), Kummer, Peryt Shou, and of course this all ultimately goes back to Guido List who is said to have started his system with a mental image dumped into his head. It's one of a set of practices that one is supposed to do, like write or paint the rune, chant its name or sound, and do "rune yoga" poses and "mudras," the result of which is supposed to that pure eternal knowledge of the cosmos is beamed directly into your consciousness from the Runenströme. This is just an extremely shitty, shallow parody of Kabbalah, supplemented with a little shitty, shallow parody of Yoga meditation (as in, like, Patañjali, not your local hot yoga studio). Unlike the Jewish cosmology where there are reasons and explanations for why meditation has certain effects, there's obviously nothing like that in a Nordic cosmology, though there is in a Nazi mystic cosmology. In Spiesberger it all makes perfect sense according to the fake scientific-sounding terminology invented over the previous several decades by Völkisch occultists -- it works because you're increasing your automagnetism, allowing... I dunno, resonance with the cosmic rune-currents or something. Thorsson couldn't mention all that (because he'd be rightly laughed at), and he isn't creative enough to come up with a new explanation that fits the expectations of his audience, but fortunately for him people are so gullible and unquestioning that he actually got away with just not saying anything at all. If this practice has any efficacy it's to make you more disconnected from reality with a side of antisemitism.

The Nazi ideology was derived from New Ager, Orientalist, Occultist, Lucifarian, Madam Blavatsky. As she believed in this Angels as a species, who were far more evolved than humans, who came down in groups to conduct the evolution of humanity by way of breeding with them, and the angelic groups degree of involvement lead to varying degrees of influence being reflected on the development of humanity. Leading to a species where some people have a heritage of angelic participation within them still, who are inherently closer to the Powers/ Higher Beings, guiding towards further evolution by way of eugenics, because this all leads back to justifying racism. Which is also explicitly canon in the show. Because that’s literally what Cupids and True Vessels are. The humans who had the ability to see and speak to Angels could do so because that was their heritage, between Jimmy and Clair, and the only explanation the show gave us. And though Eric, a Jew, wrote that, he never wrote that to be his version of the Abrahamic God’s intentions, because his was one that practiced free will and predestination. He was back off the helm by the time that the narrative shifted to create Dean as Lucifer, the righteous light-bringer who unveiled the darkness and (the hebrew)God’s misdeeds. Important to note here that part of Blavatsky’s theology was rejecting Judaism, not for not believing in the Hebrew God, but for their arrogance in the claim of him being the only one. Okay so this one requires a history lesson:

The Russian Orthodox Church is allowed to freely worship, but the Patriarch is required to be a member of the Communist Party. This means that the USSR itself is more willing to accept ideas about the occult (China, if you’re wondering, goes largely the same way as it does in reality because of the cultural revolution and sino-Soviet split))

The two superpowers compete in three races: one in space, one in arms, and another in magic. The magic race goes mostly nowhere because no one knows what the fuck they’re doing but they do figure out some shit. This creates the new field of Metaphysics, which attempts to ask “what the fuck is up with ghosts and what other crazy shit is out there”. You can take a course for it in college! A breakthrough occurs in the field of metaphysics when it is applied to war in Vietnam. Mainly how to make an enemy go nuts. This is kinda how magic works in this world. Because of how they had been viewed by popular society in this way, these groups started to interact more with each other, not always harmoniously. The most noticeable effect it has is making sure all counterculture kinda looks like if the matrix was about wizards.

Here’s where it gets really fucking neat: Ronald Reagan campaigns on a platform against Metaphysics being taught in universities. It’s like CRT for the eighties. He supports the police as an instutition, specifically Chicago PD. Matt has a weird obsession with WW2. He literally watched a holocaust docu on HIS FUCKING BDAY (or at least he posted about it) and he said he collects WW2 books. Theoretically, nothing wrong with being interested in history, but in the context of everything… bad vibes……….

He really loves Nordic/Scandinavian-related stuff, like jewelry of the Hammer of Thor etc and he even uses MS runes for his merch. Runes are popular among occultists but they also have a really problematic history concerning WW2 and the nazis. Considering one of his most favorite bands Death in June mentions runes in their lyrics and they are a REALLY REALLY questionable band flirting with nazi imagery and being openly affiliated with fascist and far-right satanists, I have every right to question Matt’s intentions.

He literally has a crutch cross tattoo on his chest (which was used as the symbol of Austro-Fascism, and is also the logo of the neo folk - nazi band Blood Axis) PHOTO 1, PHOTO 2 and an EDELWEISS tattoo [x], which is the national flower of Austria and is considered a magical flower in occult circles. Nothing wrong with having a flower tattoo but it was used a lot in the context of nationalsocialism and “traditional values”. To add, it was also used as a symbol of the 1st Mountain division “Gebirgsjäger” in WW2 (Hitler’s elite formation of the Wehrmacht who were involved in large scale war crimes).

I get trolled half to fuck every time I open my mouth on India (a lot of Indians on this site are wealthy upper caste Hindu dipshits) but basically.

1. The ruling party is straight up nazis. That’s not “as bad as nazis”, that’s “literally trace their ideological genealogy to the nazis and are emulating their example in an openly acknowledged fashion.”

2. Where the Nazis originated as an occultist group but downplayed this tendency publicly, the Indian ruling party traces its origin to a Hindu reconstructionist movement which started in the late 19th century with the work of Ram Mohan Roy, who started the Brahmo Samaj, a movement which cultivated a “Hindu” religious identity synthesised from various local traditions and old Sanskrit texts recently unearthed by European and American occultists and philologists.

3. The occultist group that turned into the early Nazi party sprang from the Theosophist movement in India, which was one of the aforementioned occultist groups. A major Theosophist figure, Annie Besant, rose to become the president of the Indian National Congress, from which eventually split the RSS, which is referred to sometimes as “India’s KKK.”

4. The history of violent and forceful conversions to Hinduism goes back to the Brahmo Samaj mentioned earlier, but the RSS was and remains an extremely violent hate group.

5. Its ideology was formulated by Sarvarkar, who openly admired the nazis, advocated the rape of Muslim women, and felt that the Holocaust model was one to emulate with India’s religious minorities.The reason I establish all of this is because I assume that you (+ other potential beneficiaries) have a pretty good idea of what a nazi is, so I want to use that as a starting point to understand who these people are and just how closely related it all is. There is a LOT else going on here with all this occultism in terms of its ideology. The main thing I want westerners to take away is that the sort of wiccan-neopagan villification of Christianity is not harmless over here but rather is taken extremely seriously and serves as a rationale for a brewing genocide.

6. The RSS gradually expanded into an incomprehensibly large network of puppet organisations, a great number of which are involved in doing public relations work for Hinduism in the west. Everything the west knows about Hinduism is because of the RSS.

7. Their growth went more or less completely unchecked for 50 years post-independence and culminated in the destruction of the famous Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh, in North India, by a mob of religious fanatics who marched to it from all over India intent on building a Ram Mandir over it – a sort of Hindu answer to the Vatican. This happened in 1992. Anti-Muslim pogroms have been a part of India since British times, but there were especially a lot of them in the early 90′s by hate groups emboldened by the demolition.

8. Another major pogrom was the one in Gujarat in 2002. Thousands of Muslims were killed, businesses torched, etc. Its architect was then-Chief Minister of the state, Narendra Modi.

9. The RSSBJP builds up an ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUS army of internet trolls. The average westerner was probably affected by this, because they actually became influential in building a lot of early American discourse on race in the mid-2000s and early 2010s. A lot of diaspora angst (mine included, back when I was a moron) was given voice by RSS ideology. Their ideas got big. In that period it was pretty much mandatory on India to spout off RSS bullshit constantly. They also have a lot to do with the current infrastructure of Facebook. If you watch the interview I just linked to, MOST Indian facebook pages are run by them, including seemingly innocuous things like groups for searching for roommates. Since they drive up the hits by joining their groups with their tens and hundreds of fake accounts, it’s a big part of Facebook’s business model. Word is they also share infrastructure with Russia, which I believe. 

10. In 2014, the RSS’s electoral wing, the BJP, wins the elections and appoints Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of all of India. They did this on the slogan of development.

11. Over the course of the 2014-2019 term, the development premise begins to ring exceptionally hollow, because not only do none of these development projects materialise, but they introduce several economic policies that seem to have no purpose whatsoever and are extremely destructive to the economy. One time they just cancelled a bunch of bank notes and made everyone cancel everything they were doing and wait in line to get them replaced and if they couldn’t do that their money just wouldn’t work anymore. Another time they introduced just this incredibly stupid tax scheme. Both moves were extremely unpopular.

12. Come the 2019 election, we learn that it doesn’t matter how batshit insane BJP’s economic policy is. BJP wins the election in a landslide, with a huge majority of the Hindu vote. In some areas this majority is enormous. In Delhi it’s 70%. In Bhopal – where the BJP’s candidate was Pragya Thakur, who was literally on trial for terrorism, that is, killing Muslims with bombs for political reasons in a coordinated manner with other actors – it was 86%.

13. It’s not just because there’s no opposition. It’s because the BJP is “teaching Muslims a lesson.” It’s literally just because Hindus have a visceral seething hatred for Muslims and for no other reason.

I wanna emphasise something here. In places like America, people self-segregate, regardless of race or any other factor, on the grounds of their political affiliation. For the most part, if you see a group of white people in America, they’re all hanging out together, it means they’re at least kind of on the same page politically – it means they all voted for Trump or they all hate him. Hindus do not do this. If you’re in Delhi and you see four Hindus hanging out on the street, 3 of them voted BJP. On tumblr we’re pretty good about understanding why members of minority groups tend to prefer the company of those who are neither in, nor sympathetic to, members of violent hate groups – you can see where this leaves Muslims. 

A German proverb is being revived in India, “if you see nine guys sitting at a table with a nazi, it’s a table with ten nazis”. I know the States have a problem with hyperbolic nazi comparisons but that’s not what’s happening here. These guys are just literal straight up nazis so it isn’t a comparison. In the two years I’ve been here, the Holocaust has gone from being something people pretend not to know about, to becoming a manifestly obvious precedent which is being followed. So trite it’s not worth bringing up. Why? How? 

Last year the state of Assam implemented the NRC, the National Register of Citizens. The point of this was to “identify illegal immigrants” allegedly from Bangladesh (a Muslim majority country). The actual point of this was apparent from the start.

This was during election season. A campaign promise.

The long and short of the NRC is that Muslims are being given the runaround and stripped of citizenship and thrown into camps. Like for real for real. So far this is only in the state of Assam, but the legal framework is being laid for its implementation in the entire country. It’s passed without much opposition or protest. 

Fear not, though, because:

tl;dr - India is stripping Muslims of citizenship and throwing them in “detention centres” and openly promising to wipe Muslims and Christians out of India by 2021 and this is passing without any opposition in india and without any attention from international media.

Adolf Hitler and Aleister Crowley, the great black magicians of the 20th century, shared similar ideologies. Their worldviews were influenced by the European occult movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Informed by the ideas of Freemasonry and Theosophy, both of these significant personalities supported the doctrines of the survival of the fittest, the primacy of the human will and the ideal of a feudal slave state.

Both of these monstrous individuals were initiates in Luciferian secret societies. Crowley entered every secret organization that would let him join—he was known to be a member of Freemasonry, the Order of the Golden Dawn and the Ordo Tempi Orientis, a German satanic group. He also founded his own magical order: the Astrum Argentum, or Silver Star. After WWI, Hitler was initiated into the Thule Society.[1] The occult Thule secret society included in its membership judges, police chiefs, professors, and industrialists. The Master of the Temple was the bald, opiate-addicted occultist Dietrich Eckhart. He trained Hilter in many of the secret teachings of the ancient mystery religions. As Eckhart lay dying in December, 1923, he famously said:

Follow Hitler! He will dance, but it is I who have called the tune! I have initiated him into the ‘Secret Doctrine’, opened his centers of vision and given him the means to communicate with the Powers. Do not mourn for me: for I shall have influenced history more than any other German.[2]

Hitler acknowledged the influence of Dietrich Eckhart upon his personality and outlook in his influential book Mein Kampf, or My Struggle. The final sentence in the final chapter of the book is reserved for a sentence glowing in admiration for his occult Master:

I should like to mention the name of a man who devoted his life to reawakening his and our people, through his writing and his ideas and finally through positive action. I mean: Dietrich Eckart.[3]

“The slaves shall serve…”

Aleister Crowley, who called himself the Beast 666, advocated the aristocratic rule over the ignorant, servile masses; “the slaves shall serve” was an oft-repeated phrase in his writings. Crowley stated:

We should have no compunction in utilizing the natural qualities of the bulk of mankind. We do not insist on trying to train sheep to hunt foxes or lecture on history; we look after their physical well-being, and enjoy their wool, and mutton. In this way, we shall have a contented class of slaves who accept the conditions of existence as they really are, and enjoy life with the quiet wisdom of the cattle.[4]

Hitler’s malevolent regime institutionalized this particular doctrine of demons. Slave camps were set up in the conquered territories; millions of workers were forced in the most squalid conditions to make armaments for the Third Reich war machine.

Both of these evil men believed in the promotion of what they believed to be the fittest people and that the weak and defenseless in any society should be exterminated. Crowley stated:

Should we not rather breed humanity for quality by killing off any tainted stock, as we do with other cattle? And exterminating the vermin which infect it, especially Jews and Protestant Christians?[5]

Hitler began sterilizing and/or killing who he deemed unfit early in the Nazi regime. In 1933, the German government instituted the “Law for the Prevention of Progeny with Hereditary Diseases.” This law called for the sterilization of all persons who suffered from diseases considered hereditary, including mental illness, learning disabilities, physical deformity, epilepsy, blindness, deafness, and severe alcoholism. With the law’s passage, the Third Reich also stepped up its propaganda against the disabled, regularly labeling them “life unworthy of life” or “useless eaters” and highlighting their burden upon society. Soon, a compulsory euthanasia program followed, and thousands of individuals disappeared from institutions in Germany, never to be seen again. Hitler approved the systematic murder of over 15 million civilians, and millions more soldiers died over the course of WWII. A detailed system concentration camps devoted to war and death production were placed throughout the Third Reich.

Both men also believed in the cold, loveless of breeding human beings. Hitler created a breeding program for his elite soldiers in the Shutzstaffel (SS) called the Lebensborn. Members of the SS were encouraged to have as many children as possible.

New Age

Both Hitler and Crowley were both New Agers—Crowley promoted the emergence of an illuminated New Age, or New Aeon, and constantly emphasized his ideal for new order of human existence in his writings. Hitler frequently referred to a New Age in his speeches, and considered his Third Reich a new political entity for a Nietzschean New Man:

One cannot argue against the claim that the Nazi world view and major elements of the New Age Movement are identical. They should be, after all for they both grew out of the same occult root: Theosophy. Their respective cosmogony, cosmology and philosophies are identical.[6]

There are a number of peculiar connections between the Beast and the German dictator. Aleister Crowley spent time in Germany near the end of the Weimar Republic, during the time of Hitler’s years of ascent into the Chancellery of the German state. Also, Major General J.F.C. Fuller, a devoted occultist and follower of Crowley, was one of only two Englishmen invited to celebrate Hitler’s 50th birthday party.

Triumph of the Will

Crowley emphasized the primacy of the human will, and had this tenet codified in his occult religion as his Word and Law—Thelema,[7] or will in Greek. Crowley thought of himself as a Prophet of the human will, stating:

I had been prepared in solitude to become such. I was now, little by little, to enter upon my life as the Prophet of the Law of Thelema.[8]

In Hitler’s Germany, Leni Riefenstahl’s film Triumph of the Will was released in 1935 and became the best known piece of cinematic political propaganda in world history. The film begins with Hitler coming down out of the sky in an airplane, poised as a descending savior of the German nation.[9] One critic commented “Hitler is cast as a veritable German Messiah who will save the nation, if only the citizenry will put its destiny in his hands.”[10] Hitler, the dominant antichrist figure of the 20th Century, scorched the earth with death and destruction while following his own true will.

These aforementioned demonic values serve as the model for the New World Order, where the principles of Crowley and Hitler will cover the entire planet. Considering all the similarities in their connections to secret societies and occult doctrines, the near carbon-copy correlations in thought and ideology between Crowley and Hitler cannot be dismissed.

Okay, so I'm researching runes

As a part of my religion they'er very important not only for  communication with the gods but rune-casting (fortune telling in a way) as well. And a certain rune, Othala, happens to be my rune. I don't know if other Nordic Pagans do this but I mark myself with this certain rune to tie my wards and spells to myself as well as a marker so the gods recognize me. It represents me in a way. So as you can tell this is insanely importantly and while looking up this symbol (and others as well but this one is very dear to me) my search kept correlating to Neo-Nazi sites and propaganda. I guess, this rune in particular is used because Othala means home, heritage, along with a few other thing, and those occultists are obsessed with a pure bloodline or some shit. Though I can’t help but bitterly cackle.

You have to be a fucking dumbass to associate Nordic Paganism with white supremacy. Firstly, there is several separate races of gods. From the Æsir (Odin, Frigga), to Vanir (Frey, Freya), and even Jontar (Loki, Skadi). No main supreme race. Secondly, a huge portion, if not the majority, of gods are mixed race like Thor, Heimdall, and Bragi. And thirdly, Neo-Nazis go straight against some of the most important values of Vikings and the Gods. 

In Nordic tradition strict bloodline wasn’t necessarily a concern with Vikings. Seeing especially as adopted children were considered family, no different than biological members of the family and both men and women fought in battle. While referring to the gods, not only the deities themselves, but people such as myself, who have found refuge under their power. As someone who didn’t grow up with the myths and felt like an outcast the majority of my life when I found the Norse Gods, those who taken in the strange and contradictions, the warrior-poets, the unwanted, I was found. For the first time, I felt wholly accepted. I heard the whispers and felt the undertaking of the deities. I still do. That’s what these beings called to me and so many other. 

But you fucking scum wannabe Hitler fucks spread hate and intolerance. So you can get your grubby hands off my gods and symbols. I don’t want you, other pagans don’t want you, and the Gods don’t want you.

Couple of takeaways and opinions and reactions from watching the series Blood & Treasure.

FIrst off- Warning- I watched this show purely for the Oded Fehr content( the hot, now silver fox Isreali actor who played Ardeth Bae Bay in the Mummy) and I am more than happy and willing to RIP into any and all historical inaccuracies with a bloodthirsty vengeance. Even if this is a campy ripoff of all inaccurate ‘history movies’. I am History’s paramour, don’t @ me. I will be referencing The Mummy a lot. ( A strangely accurate-ish movie, I’ll save that for another time.) ALSO, none of this follows the order of the series. ANNNNDDDDD, I didn’t watch the whole thing yet, so more fun insights to come.

 - Alright, so Oded Fehr has officially turned a whole 180 and instead of protecting these cursed tombs (ala The Mummy) he is now the greedy treasure hunter/grave robber/terrorist and you know what, it’s good look on him, it works...Well, I got so annoyed in the 2.3 minutes that we had to watch the archeologists right at the beginning be so awful and let’s act like a military group instead of what they really are(nerds) and oh-look-this-is-where-the-lever-was-now-help-me-open-this-with-zero-safety-measures-in-place ( It’s a modern ‘dig’ like come on)  that I’m cool with him (Oded Fehr’s bad guy character) waltzing in there all evil and he shoots some people, kills some people, kidnaps some people, blows up some pyramids which mildly pissed me off but I also kinda understood why? and he’s commanding and doesn’t waste his time like other villains and he’s all unfairly sexy in his tac gear and...I’m drooling now and weirdly rooting for the bad guy. Not a great start to a show which wants you to root for the ‘good guys’.

- Oh...HELL NO!!! ( groans in despair) GOODY-TWO-SHOES EX-AGENT OF CIAROKJSNDKENF!!!!WHATEVER. FuCK he’s irritating... AAAANNNNNNDDDD, the lead...figures. I hate those types.

- The priest is a good priest. Nice touch. Too bad he’s Jesuit. Believe you me, modern and post-modern Jesuits are not really a good sort. The old/original Jesuits were cool and brave and all ( and sooooooo not like this stupid series tries to make us believe.) They never had coded Bibles, you dicks.

- I honestly don’t know if this series wants to be taken as a serious history lesson or as fantastical historical fiction. The latter is fine I guess. It sure as Hell ain’t the former. (They do throw in enough actual history to confuse you on that bit.) I mean, the curse on Cleopatra’s tomb isn’t a blatantly made-up apocalyptic resurrection of a bad CGI mummy who was Hom-Dai ‘ed 3000 years ago, so it could be taken as actual history by anyone who may not know better. But it isn’t actual history, not by a long shot. Don’t believe this series, I beg of you.

 - The Jesuits were never secret-keepers of cult knowledge and they never infiltrated the Nazi Occultists ranks and there may be secret passages out of the Vatican to be used in an emergency by the Swiss Guards( and ensemble) if necessary, but I doubt that it’s hidden in such a Angels and Demons- esque way and OH HELL, the pop culture references BTW are driving me up the wall! These guys are trying to be the Gilmore Girls and are failing miserably.

- There is something so clandestinely delicious about seeing the heart-throbbing silver fox which is Oded Fehr in a turtleneck sweater and blazer with that scar on the side of his face and just... no thoughts, only dominating dangerous dilf.  - Lexi I can stand because she is truthfully alot of fun to watch at the beginning. And she’s actually awesome in the -I care about people and they don’t know it kinda way.- One tiny little thing though. Never knew I was weirded out by thigh gaps until this girl walks in in skinny jeans and leggings. I shouldn’t find it weird and I usually don’t but some of the angles they use in this show creeps me out for some inexplicable reason. Very odd. They should keep her in dresses and maybe like, non-skinny jeans.

-Blowing up the pyramid to distract the world from the black market sales of Cleopatra’s items is very smart. STOP MAKING ME LIKE THE VILLAIN!

- Karim Farouk is way too smart to have just grabbed those cases without checking them all to ensure that everything was as it should be. Give the man some credit. They make him super smart and sly at the beginning, but then when crunch-time arrives and our ‘heroes’ need plot boosts, Karim gets uncharacteristically sloppy.

- As soon as it was revealed that Karim was doing all this stuff out of revenge, I knew it was over a bombing or something by the US of A and his family or almost all his family was wiped out, and that grief and anger had developed into stone cold hate.

- And I was right.

- Using Karim’s niece as bait is cruel AF.

-No fucking way that he brought his niece a present in a bag with a location on it and drops it where our ‘heroes’ conveniently find it and track him to said location.

- This fucking predictable plot I SWEAR!

-Side note: DEATH FROM SUPERNATURAL IS IN HERE! YOOHOO! Great actor.
