That misty morning in #LongSepiling gave me the opportunity to make friends with the smaller residents of my favourite kampung. #Slugs have four tentacles, and they’re retractable. Two are for seeing and smelling, and they can be operated independently: a slug can gaze at you (or smell you) and a friend simultaneously. The other two are for touching and tasting. They have thousands of teeth, and they breathe through a blowhole that opens up on one side of their bodies. This round pore is called a pneumostome. I think they are pretty cute 😍. #loveleaf Loving a leaf So simple. . This one In the mid of transformation. From being born to a tree To working it’s work as a leaf on a tree. It took, it gave, it made something new. And it fell in fall. It detached. . All the leaves in fall. Colors unseen before. New each season. Melting my heart in a pile of fallen leaves. . Allowing winter to come. Trusting to be reborn again in spring. Trusting the process. . How can I compare the complexity of being human to a life of a leaf? . Who are we to think, That because we think, We might be more More what? More nature? More what? What are we more to Mother Nature than the leaf is to her? . A servant. Here to serve. . Just that we made serving such a bad bad word. We made it equal to slave. To unfree. . But as the leaf is serving its purpose of growling the three to beautiful heights and tasty fruits, so are we. Serving our purpose to a creation bigger that our baby brains can grasp for now at least. And if we don’t, illness will play her game on our tendons and bones. . Try to fall in love with a leaf. And love it tender, love it wild. . It will pass. Dissolve. Go back to earth. And it will plan a love in you bigger than all you’ve known. This love will sleep under your heart the whole winter. Oh wonder. Just to pour out of your heart in spring again. And to heal your old wounds. Going on Walks

Over the last year I have truly embraced nature. Enjoying the outdoors at whatever cost; I set a goal to go on walks daily. Living in the city, walks do not always feel like strolls but when you find the right streets and parts, it can feel like you walked into a different world. At least for a moment. 

Walking can be a form of meditation, and stress release. I often jam out to music (which is even better with a mask on because you can lip sync all you want and no one will even know) or listen to a podcast. Throughout these walks I would either cry (purging my emotions), enjoy the view and sometimes get a little high. The idea of being stuck at home is not as scary as it used to be to me. I have set up a daily routine and weekly goals to keep me going. Remote life has taught me a lot. 

Working from home means we are able to make a choice of how we want to start and finish our day. Why not squeeze in a home workout for lunch, or finish your last hour of work at the park. We have been given an advantage the world has never seen before. 

Going on walks has healed me over the last year. My anxiety is lowest on days where I go on my walks. Inhaling fresh air and enjoying the sun for a few moments of your day will improve the way you think and the way you feel in your body. 

Our ancestors walked.

The first humans on Earth walked. 

So let’s keep the tradition alive and enjoy walking in nature.
