I walked until I could see no one else. I sat and watched the birds play in the air, gliding on the currents, resting in the oak trees. I earthed barefoot on the sand all the way to the mud sand, where my feet began to sink. We rested, we smiled, we played, we foraged. The clouds rushed hurriedly overhead, somewhere else to go across the sea and the sun danced below on the ground in shadow.

In a few weeks our art studio vision will become a reality. As we build it, I wonder what Earth transmissions will be born from this new space. How will I feel in a large space open to creativity? We go to her, Mother Earth, we return to our nest to think, to feel, to reflect on all that she teaches us daily. To portray those feelings on paper. I know who I am. I know what I am. Summer in the Scandinavian wilderness of Geilo, Norway | Solo travel vlog

This summer, I spent 3 weeks in a Norwegian town called Geilo.

I didn’t know this beforehand, but Geilo is a famous and quite touristy place. But since I was staying at the far edge of the town, I had the best of both worlds:

It was only a 15-minute bike ride to all the accommodations I needed – including a super cozy second-hand store where I ended up buying six copper pans (of which I still can’t believe they fit in my suitcase on my journey back home to the Netherlands).

But the area where the house was located felt remote, spacious and calm, and was surrounded by beautiful Scandinavian nature.

From the house, I could easily reach the most serene places: lakes, wild rivers, marshes, waterfalls, fjords, and rugged mountains.
