figuring out how i want to draw the nomai, so here's a pye since i am obsessed with her !!!
#outer wilds#pye#she was one of the easiest to start recognizing across text because she is involved in so many different things#but then i saw the scroll where she was calculating trajectories to the sun station and i Was in love immediately#and i love that the sun station was designed (by the game artists not by pye) to look more weapon-like than anything else the nomai built#as a way to show how it goes against their nature to do something so destructive and high risk#and since pye is the one kind of leading that and being so vocally For it it implies that she is also acting against nomai nature#but i dont think thats necessarily true!! a majority of the nomai agreed or else the idea would have been voted down#(even tho it did spark arguments)#and the oldest nomai recording we have access to is from escall making a split second decision to warp to an unknown place#just to follow a signal the group was curious about and it put them in danger!!! that killed people!!!#like i know its more about the potential damage to the solar system and the life there but#throwing caution to the wind for scientific discovery is very much nomai nature From What I Saw !!!#not that i am saying the game creators are wrong lmao but i mean like. i think it is against their nature AND so very exactly their nature#at the same time and thats why there Was so much debate about it#and i think pye is the embodiment of trying Everything Possible (and impossible) to find answers and learn#AND SHE IS SEXY FOR IT#ANYWAYS. clears throat#blow up that sun girl hashtag women in stem

#wwdits#what we do in the shadows#nandermo#that's his boss#i can actually see it tho#Nandor and Guillermo act thru the episode like normal and nothings changed - the s1/2 dynamics#and like 5 minutes before the episode ends#they come arcross each other in the hallway or something - perfectly natural like#theres absolutely no signs - no preamble - there's absolutely no evidence anything is going to happen#but suddenly the whole energy changes and they stare at each other for a beat#and then they're at each other like wild animals#furniture goes flying#a wall breaks at some point#and they haven't even got their clothes off yet#while they struggle to get undressed they notice the crew and Nandor growls#shoves them away so hard the camera breaks and the screen goes black#the next scene Nandor and Guillermo are sitting on the couch doing a face to face with the camera#and they are both absolutely wrecked with the most shell shocked faces#like a devastating storm hit them and they both don't know how to react#the moment seeps with awkwardness and silence#something falls of the damaged wall in the background#cut to credits#and that's episode 1 of season 6#you're welcome paul simms you can have this for free

#my art#oc art#i made several changes to stitch in the ditch and i like the story so much better now#originally singer made pupet to fix the tear in reality and she sent him off into the world on his own immediately#while she just stayed behind in her house to be a stock model 2D 'nice old lady'#but i changed it so now she goes on the journey with him which naturally makes the story recenter from 'just pupet'#to 'wild parent/child relationship' which is already more fun to write and much more interesting than just some guy on his own#AND since singer is now main character number two i had to develop her a lot more and shes no longer a generic grandma but much more flawed#old ladies can have a god complex and complicated feelings of resentment towards things they love. as a treat.

She and John had been married for very few years and she lived such a different life after that#So it's possible that her first marriage simply seemed very distant and faraway to her.#Alternatively it may have simply been undivided affection for Edward IV (her husband of 19 years who she married for love)#which fits well into the relatively personal nature of her will.#Of course we don't actually know anything about any of this and this is all pure wild speculation on my end...but I'm curious.#It's really a shame how little we actually know about Elizabeth's life - made worse by the very limited primary records of Edward IV's#reign and the fact that his chamber records don't survive. And it's even more frustrating that this is so rarely actually acknowledged#by historians. I'd argue we know far more about the life & interests of most other 'prominent' women of the Wars of the Roses#(sans the Neville sisters) than we do about Elizabeth Woodville.

as a zookeeper I have to do public talks fairly often and where I live it is a legal requirement for zoos to educate the public on conservation issues (which is done in part by public talks).
I just love starting off a talk talking about how cute the animals are and where they live and how they hunt and whatever else. All the fun facts about their behaviour and the enrichment we provide and things like that. and just when they're invested and having a good time i hit them with the ol' "this is why the exotic pet trade is evil" and just watch their faces change as i talk about why they should be mindful of the videos they watch on the internet. absolute gold. even better when i can TELL they're having The Realisation
#i could go on for HOURS about how social media is one of the main driving forces of the exotic pet trade#i was talking about asian short clawed otters yesterday and telling people about how all those otters they see in 'otter cafes' online#do not have access to the resources they need like constant access to water (to swim) and a proper diet and specialised vet care#and these teenagers were like o.o oh okay...#and then they were like what about capybara cafes#and i was like well. capybaras are adorable but they also need a lot of space AND constant access to swimming water#so unless the cafes also have a big paddock and water for the capybaras...#and they were like “oh... probably not!”#and like YES EXACTLY NOW YOU SEE IT#now you realise that animal spaces need to be made with the natural behaviours and needs of the animals taken into consideration#as a bare minimum#this is not to mention that constant interaction with humans is also not healthy and goes against conservation values#ANYWAY#enough rambling#fuck those online animal 'rescues' that show off their wild animals like pets#and FUCK animal cafes

Beauty and the Beast is an amazing AU for them right down to how effortlessly Mobius could see right through the mask Loki had been projecting in trying to guard against a lifetime of feigned hubris, and the whole man of action vs. slow, deliberate, cerebral approach when in reality it can actually be flipped around to Loki being quite gentle with Mobius' feelings and Mobius making a ton of spur of the moment decisions on Loki's behalf is such a nice and unexpected twist to what everyone assumes is their usual dynamic!
Also I don't really have any reasoning for this other than I just like thinking about it but in my heart Mobius is absolutely a Disney princess lmao, he met his prince, saved the day, and deserves to indulge in all the best life has to offer 💕
