Day 10 #SplitForSummer #yogachallenge - It's the last day and yogi's choice so I chose #SuperSoldierPose - only tried this once before & I couldn't get my arm around the back of my leg, but look at me now! 😃I have to admit I was somewhat intimidated at the thought of a splits challenge as I don't practice them. Wasn't sure I would be able to accomplish nearly as much as I have over the last 10 days & I extremely happy with my progress! Catching up with #WomenYogaTribe #yogachallenge - Day 7 is #crowpose to connect with our inner child - always wanted to try this version...have to point my toes more next time! But yes our inner child!!! I remember during my YTT we did a Kids Yoga workshop and it was SO MUCH FUN! It's so important to not lose that youthful part of ourselves! Finally catching up...well more like starting the #SplitForSummer #yogachallenge... splits are #goals for me... specifically a front spilt...and I've found that by not focusing on achieving them, I've gotten so much close than I've ever have. I've actually gotten deeper into it than I did today but even though I really warmed up, it just wasn't happening. I could feel I wanted and could go deeper but the hammies & hips weren't about it plus I wanted to keep my hips level and squared as much as possible. That was more important for me... Also as I always say in class, "listen to your body" I had to! Can't very well preach it and not practice it right? Okay I've rambled on enough... here's how it all unfolded today... swipe to see all posts. Day 1 #DownwardDogSplit - main focus here was keeping hips square and level ✅ Day 2 - #PropSplit - used the wall as my prop...actually used others but I liked this feeling here the most plus I am working towards feeling more comfy being upside down! ✅ Day 3 #FrontSplit - hands by my side and lift chest up...in my head my arms were reaching way above!!! 😆✅ Day 4 #CentreSplit - with these hips? Ha! I tried! I think this is as wide as I've ever gotten without feeling as though my femurs could pop out of the socket! Day 5 #WomenYogaTribe is any #mermaid variation and our connection to the water element. I chose a #lowlunge variation and I don't know but maybe it's because I'm a water sign, but whether it's a refreshing shower or a dip in the sea, water has an incredible soothing AND invigorating effect on me. I love it!
