I think Dandadan is the first shounen anime Ive watched where I understand why all the boys and girls like one another. I know Aira’s crush on Okarun seems stereotypical because she sees Momo as her Rival but she’s doing better than most other examples by having a eccentric personality that doesn’t revolve around being Momo’s rival or that her motivations don’t change because of Okarun. (No Shade to Juvia I love her)
Aira and Unji see the people they have crushes on for who they are. Aira liking shy Okarun is only a little superficial because she’s never had a crush before and assumes moving fast is the way to go so it’s more played for an inversion of the trope. Zuma’s crush may be a little rushed because he’s spent so much time shutting people out and missing his mom that he doesn’t really know what do with the feelings he has for this super cool stranger whose risking her life just to save him (I cant wait to see to how he adjust to the other’s). I think Vamola is the closest thing we get to a secondary character falling in love with the mc due to proximity but that’s not even meant to be seen as a crush thing she’ll cling to anyone friendly.
Yeah I think you worry less about why a character likes another character when all parties involved are so well established and already cool on their lonesome.
#i want to say it was all the shoujo homework the author did but#and yeah but Dandadan does it much faster if that makes sense#i still like Ichigo and Orihime but that’s due to their proximity to each other#theyve known each ither for so ling they might as well go out#natsu and lucy is a ship i don’t mind but don’t get for example#you would have to sit here and convince me on Erza and Jellal as well#and even then we’re talking about second leads that come out of nowhere to provide tension for the main couple#like the childhood friend that comes back after 10 years and confesses#‘you were like 7 when you met the mc you why would you possibly think they’re the same person you were interested in#dandadan#dandadan spoilers

"Luffy isn't shown to be attracted to anyone so he can't fall in love"
Oh, was he supposed to be drooling at the mouth over any man or woman that he runs across? Or spend 100 chapters in a circular romantic drama? Lol I won't strawman this thing ofc, but at the same time, the above point is laughable to me because it's very inconsequential. Anyone who has tenure in reading manga of all kinds, especially Shonen, knows showing a character actively being attracted to or vying for a romantic interest means NOTHING.
It's a classic trope played on. I mean hek, I've seen it used on female characters too. Take a goal oriented, simple yet strong-minded protagonist, and have them end up in a relationship (or hint thereof) in the same vein of their own simplicity? It's always easy work. It usually works so well because the character themselves typically comes with the ability to befriend and gain connections with others. It's just written in the most direct, uncomplicated way when they decide to see that differently and in the "romantic function" for someone.
Goku and Toriko were probably the funniest examples. You could throw Vegeta in there because him getting Bulma pregnant and really not BEING with her was also as sporadic. Soma has all the romantic subtext with Erina despite it not going all the way in directly expressing it (the author even wanted to write them being married), and Natsu's personality + bond and romantic storytelling with Lucy is enough said.
Their stories aren't exactly romantic dramas and being romantic isn't a direct goal of theirs, but that has never stopped an author from being able to make it happen. In cases like Soma or Natsu, if you're a romantic, you'd likely want it to be with someone the protagonist is super close to despite not drooling after them for the entire story. Because for characters who establish strong emotional connections, they don't really need to do that for it to be applied when/how they want it to.
Of course, who YOU want this to be for Luffy is up to you and all. Go nuts shippers. I'm not even a huge shipper in general (like, disposition-wise), but even I am on the Luffy and Nami boat myself because all corresponding material is the most flexible for it. Plus, I do like all these said materials too. I'd also point out that, uh hello, Nami doesn't exactly spend her time in romantic chases either, and yet people still want to ship her with Sanji while making the point about Luffy? Makes no sense. But, if you saw Hancock for Luffy similar to that of Chichi for Goku, then I understand too. @warlordgab has written more extensive things on this, with also all the materials to even talk about, if you want to check them out.
However, this idea of "charcacter shows no attraction to anyone means they can't have romance" is a really weird take. Not every character is Senku XD And you'd be surprised, even if they were, if a mangaka wants it to happen, oh boy it'll happen.
And probably be so simply dumb and hilarious.

MHA Theory: Is a TodoDeku Ending Possible?
Okay, before BakuDeku or OchaDeku or other shippers go up in arms against me, I am not an avid shipper. The idea of shipping was cute and I adored it until I saw what hardcore shipping does to a fandom community, so I don’t ship as much as I used to. I’m looking into this as a fan of the series, not as a shipper.
That being said, this is only a theory. A My Hero Academia Theory! .... So, there is a likely chance that it won’t happen, especially since my argument that it could happen is relatively weak (imo), making it even less likely.
Anyways, let’s get to it, shall we? Warning, this theory may contain spoilers for endings of Bleach, Naruto, and maybe Fairy Tail.
But, please. Be civil. This isn’t a place to bash other ships. All ships is valid...except for those that are gross. You guys know what I mean.
In a lot of shounen anime, there’s usually a love interest for the main protagonist of the story, the main heroine. At the end of the story, they get together. Two examples are Ichigo and Orihime in Bleach, Naruto and Hinata in...Naruto, and Natsu and Lucy in Fairy Tail.
Of these great anime, One Piece is probably one of the few anime that is not going to follow this formula because a) Oda came out and said that none of the Strawhats are gonna be romantically involved with each other, and B) Luffy isn’t doesn’t seem to care much for such relationships.
(Let me say that don’t let this deter you from doing fanworks of Luffy x Nami or Sanji x Robin or any ships)
One of the things MHA is amazing with is deconstructing or even out right averting common shounen tropes. I’ll probably make a post about this in a later future.
Another thing MHA is great with showing is that we get to see men not being afraid of showing emotions
badass women
and
Basically, MHA does its hardest to divert.
So, what if the series ends with not a heteronormative couple?
Don’t get me wrong. OchaDeku is flippin’ adorable and it must be protected and Ochako is just as precious as Izuku.
I mean, yeah, Izuku still gets flustered around Ochako and the girl was shown that she has started to developed feelings for him and (for manga readers) chapter 325!
But, for the sake of this theory, it’s also kinda generic shounen. An easy argument against this is that Izuku being flustered doesn’t equal romantic feelings and you could be right. Also, keep in mind that Izuku barely had friends growing and when he first met Ochako, he was in awe that he talked to a girl.
By this logic, Izuku is just being anxious about him being around girls, a typical nerd boy reaction. He does the same when Hatsume got into his personal space.
So, would it being interesting for TodoDeku to happen?
Izuku helped Todoroki so much during the Sports Festival and Todoroki was indeed grateful for that. And Izuku continued to support Todoroki whenever he has an issue and Todoroki would do the same for Izuku.
I’m sure some would ask about BakuDeku because of...the whole damn story! Lol!
And I see your point! But, wouldn’t that be a bit cliched too? I’ll come out and say that I’m not a fan of the Childhood Romance cliché.
Really though, at the end of the day, whatever happens is up to Horikoshi. This is his story that he is writing. For all we know, Izuku may not end up with...anybody! Whatever happens - OchaDeku or whatever - I’m cool with it.
Maybe, I’ll make a post about ships and how the ships could work. Really, what was fun about ships was the potential of the relationships.

Masterlist
Warnings: Making out.
Relationships: Nalu with background Gruvia
Summary: After defeating Aldoron, Natsu notices Gray confess his love for Juvia in private, and it makes him think about where his own relationship with Lucy stands. So they have a little chat while she’s healing his wounds.
A/N: So, by now you all know that I ship both nalu and gruvia, which is why I think that after having a gruvia moment in the manga, for some reason I got struck with the inspiration for a nalu fic that relates to the aftermath of what sort of relationship stuff will hopefully be in the new chapter this week for gruvia. I don’t really know exactly how this idea slipped into my subconscious, but it got in there somehow and I think it’s really good and I hope you all like it!
-----------
Natsu thought he knew what to expect when they had defeated Aldoron. The whole guild was there and they were all happy and drunkenly celebrating, despite Wendy’s wishes for everyone to take it easy while she healed them. And like usual Juvia was all over Gray and he looked very displeased about it. She was going on an on about how Gray said she was his “power to live” and he snickered, surprised that ice princess would really say something like that. He was about to go tease him about it but then Gray took Juvia’s hand and led her away from the make-shift camp the guild had made.
Gray led her down a hill and Natsu noticed that a few of the nosier guild members had followed, peering down at the valley they were in to see what was going on. Natsu was curious too. So he followed them as best he could with his limp from the blow he had gotten on his knee and looked over the hill with his guild mates.
When he got there all he saw was Gray holding Juvia’s hands, and he missed the first part of the conversation because he was late to the watch party, but with his dragon slayer hearing he could clearly pick up Gray saying the words “I want you to be mine. You’re everything to me Juvia. I love you” before he pressed his lips against hers and then the watch party gave themselves away with their loud wolf-whistles and cheers and caused Gray to whip his head around to look at them in anger before shouting “what the hell does it take to get some privacy around here dammit!” and using his magic to make a wall of ice to block the onlookers view of him and Juvia.
Natsu was confused by everyone’s excitement. He hadn’t fully understood what he just saw but by listening to everyone else he was able to piece it together.
“Well it’s about damn time he told her how he feels!” Macao said.
“Yeah you don’t want to keep a beautiful girl like that waiting!” Wakaba said. “Especially one that’s been in love with you for as long as she has. Man if that isn’t true love then I don’t know what is.”
Natsu was still confused until a drunken Cana slung her arm around his shoulders and made everything quite clear.
“Now how long are you planning on making Lucy wait Natsu.” Cana slurred.
“Wait? Wait for what?” He asked.
“To confess to her like Gray just did to Juvia dummy.” Cana laughed. “Lucy wouldn’t admit it but it was pretty clear she was worried when we all thought Touka was into you before we found out that she was an exceed that was in love with Happy.”
Natsu was still confused but then the last thing Cana said to him is what got the message through.
“I mean damn Juvia waited for Gray for a long time without giving up but who knows how long Lucy’s gonna wait to hear it from you.”
It was in that moment that Natsu’s heart seized in fear that waiting until after the quest to tell Lucy how he really felt about her might not have been the smartest move.
-------------
Even now, when he was alone with Lucy in a tent while she treated his injuries he was worried about what he should do. Should he follow Gray’s example and tell Lucy how he really felt about her? Or did she not really like him and Cana was just teasing him like she does with all of the guild members when she’s drunk.
And the fact that Lucy seemed visibly worried too as she pulled out his leg to apply bandages to his injured knee, definitely wasn’t helping ease his anxiety. But it did switch his anxiety from being focused on himself to being focused on what’s troubling her.
“What’s wrong Luce? It seems like something’s bothering you.” Natsu asks.
Lucy sighs.
“You need to be more careful.” Lucy says as she wraps a bandage around Natsu’s leg.
Natsu winces as the medicine that was on the bandages touches the wound on his leg. He grabs Lucy’s hand as a reflex to get her to stop dressing his wound and she gasps and blushes from the contact.
Truth be told, Natsu was surprised that Lucy had offered to care for him rather than let Wendy heal him. She said it was because Wendy was busy tending to the others wounds which was true but he knew her well enough at this point to know that there was another reason why she was putting that damn stinging lotion on his wounds.
“You don’t need to be so worried about me Luce.” He tells her with sincerity in his voice, and in his eyes but she can’t see that because she’s staring at the wound on his leg, deep in thought. “It’s just a few injuries. I’ve had worse.”
Natsu’s smile falls when he sees Lucy wince. What he had said must not have reassured her like he thought it would. In fact it looks like he might have just made things worse.
“I know and that’s what worries me! You always just go charging into danger, not caring if you’ll get hurt or not!” Lucy says.
“Yeah, I don’t care if I get a little beat up during a fight as long as I win it. I don’t care what happens to me, as long as I’m protecting everyone else.” Natsu says.
“But I do care what happens to you!” Lucy yells at him.
She was crying now and Natsu’s heart was breaking at the sight. He hated it when Lucy was sad. And he hated it even more when he was the cause and he didn’t know what to do to fix it.
“You said that we’d be together forever! So why do you keep putting yourself in situations where I could lose you!” Lucy scolds him and pulls the last bandage on his leg tightly, making him wince from the sting.
He didn’t mind the pain that much though. The pain of her being so upset because of his actions was much worse.
“Okay! Okay! I’m sorry!” Natsu pleads to her. “I’ll try to be more careful in the future, so please don’t hurt me!”
“I’m gonna hold you to that.” Lucy says sternly after she sniffles and wipes the tears from her eyes as she reaches for his wounded arm and he holds it out for her.
Natsu looks at her apologetically while he tries to think of something more to say to her to make her feel better.
“I’m dead serious Lucy. I’ll try to be more careful. When I told you that we’d be together forever I meant it. I’ve got no plans to leave you or our friends any time soon. So I’ll try to be more careful if that makes you feel better. I had no idea you were worried about that too.” Natsu says which makes Lucy frown in confusion.
“Wait, what else do you think I’m worried about?” Lucy asks.
“Touka.” Natsu says.
Lucy feels the hairs on the back of her neck stand up as she starts to get an idea of where this was going.
“W-well I was worried because she turned our whole guild white but we separated the white wizard from her so it’s all taken care of. I’m not worried anymore.” Lucy explains, feeling relief wash over her.
For a moment there she was worried that he might have heard something crazy from-
“But Cana told me you were worried that Touka and I would date each other.” Natsu says.
“WHAT!?!” Lucy exclaims and Natsu couldn’t help but smirk.
Lucy looks so adorable sometimes when she’s embarrassed. But as she rambles about how Cana was lying and she had no idea where she got that crazy idea from, it became clear to him that she was hiding something. And his heart filled with hope that that something was what he thought it was. But he still wasn’t sure.
“I mean yeah I was relieved when I found out that she was an exceed that was in love with Happy instead of a human in love with you but that wasn’t because I was jealous or anything it’s because I was worried she was gonna get her heart broken because you’re not interested in that sort of thing!” She rambles and Natsu frowns at her.
“What sort of thing?” Natsu asks.
Lucy laughs and shakes her head.
“That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I felt sorry for Touka because I thought she wanted to be your boyfriend and throughout all of the years I’ve known you, you’ve made it pretty clear that you’re not interested in going out on dates or telling girls sweet things or even showing any interest in a woman at all. And I’m not mad at you or trying to insult you for not wanting a relationship or anything. That’s your choice and you don’t need to be interested in romance if you don’t want to be. I like you just the way you are. I was just worried for her because I thought she’d be disappointed when she learned you would never reciprocate her feelings.” Lucy explains before wrapping up his arm.
That disappointed tone in her voice when she said that last sentence said it all. He knew how she felt about him now. She just didn’t know that he felt the same. With Cana’s warning still echoing in his mind, he decided to end her worrying, by making it clear now how he felt about her.
“Well yeah.” Natsu scoffs. “Why the hell would I be interested in Touka when I’ve got you.”
Lucy freezes and drops the bandage roll as he finishes that sentence.
She looks up at him and sees him smiling at her with that goofy grin of his and gulps.
“W-what?” She asks and Natsu stops grinning and instead offers her a small smile with a look of sincerity and utter adoration for the woman at his side tending to his injuries.
With his dragon slayer hearing, he could hear her heart pounding. And he knew it was now or never.
“Lucy, you know that you’re the only one I want right?” Natsu asks her and Lucy gasps and her face turns bright red.
“W-want?” She flusterdly stammers. “Want me for what?”
Now it was Natsu’s turn to laugh and shake his head at Lucy’s confusion.
“You know.” Natsu tells her and takes her hand in his and holds it up between them as he laces his fingers through hers. “I’ve already told you that we’re going to be together forever. That means that for as long as we’re alive, I’m yours and you’re mine.”
Lucy felt her heart pounding as her heart filled with hope that Natsu was saying what she thought he was saying. But he had mislead her before, so this time she needed to be absolutely certain...
“Natsu I’m not quite sure what you mean.” Lucy apologizes.
Natsu frowns a bit in frustration before thinking of another way to explain it.
“The way that Gray feels about Juvia. I feel the same way about you Lucy. If Juvia is Gray’s power to live, then Lucy, you’re my power to fight.” Natsu says at Lucy lets out a soft gasp in shock. “I used to fight to become stronger to find Igneel. But then I met you and I started fighting for you instead. I’ve always been protective of our guild. They’re my family. I’ll always fight to protect them but most importantly, I’m fighting for you, to make this world safer for you so you can be happy and that nothing will ever make you cry again. I love you Lucy Heartfilia. And after seeing Gray and Juvia, I finally realize how I can show you how I feel about you.” Natsu says and Lucy gulps as his gaze shifts from her eyes to her lips. “That is, if you feel the same way?” Natsu asks shyly.
Lucy couldn’t help the huge grin that grew on her face from those words, as well as the tears of joy that were sliding down her cheeks.
“Of course I do you big dummy. I love you too.” Lucy says as Natsu wipes her tears away with his thumbs.
Natsu was smiling too until he saw her close her eyes and lean in closer to his face. So he carefully places his hand on her lower back, and his other hand on the back of her head and her breath hitches before he brings his mouth to hers and closes his eyes.
The kiss wasn’t much. It was the first one for both of them, unless you count what happened with Natsu and Happy. But even though right now, Natsu and Lucy were only pressing their lips together, when their lips finally parted, both of them were happier than they’ve been in a long time.
“Wow...so that’s what a kiss is?” Natsu asks and Lucy giggles.
“I guess so. I wouldn’t know if it’s supposed to be anything else because that was the only one I’ve ever had.” Lucy admits. “But I liked it. Did you?”
“Yeah!” Natsu exclaims with that childlike excitement that never failed to make Lucy laugh. “C-can we do it again?” He asks her with a mix of shyness and eagerness and that Lucy found so endearing there was no way she could say no, even though her answer was already a yes regardless.
---------
What had started out as just practice kissing had now turned into a practice make-out session. Lucy was seated in Natsu’s lap with her legs straddling him as she held his jaw in her hands and moved her mouth against his. Meanwhile, his hands were moving, mostly down her back but would sometimes move across her hip and down her thigh to move her leg to give him room to readjust how she was sitting on his lap to make the position more comfortable for him before he resumed kissing her.
Lucy was surprised by how much effort he was putting into this. For someone who’s never shown any interest in romance before, he was learning to read her signals and finding where she wanted to be touched by the little gasps that would leave her lips when his calloused fingers ran across a sensitive part of her skin and knowing which part of her body needed support when he readjusted himself so she wouldn’t fall over.
She was enjoying this. And she could feel that he was too. That’s why he had to readjust how she was sitting on his lap. A few thoughts ran through her head about taking this a bit further because of that. She was starting to feel a bit hot, and she thought about how good it would feel to have her bare skin against his if she took her top off. I mean, it’s not like he’d be seeing anything new at this point. She’d lost count of how many times he’d seen everything God had given her. But thank goodness she kept herself dressed because Happy came flying into the tent just as she was lifting her hand up to one of the buttons on her top.
“Hey Natsu I got you a fish to help make you feel better-AAAAAHHHH WHAT IN THE GOOD NAME OF FISH ARE YOU DOING!” Happy screams at the top of his lungs.
Natsu and Lucy scream together when Happy barges in, forgetting how accessible their tent was and that their other friends like Happy were also worried about Natsu’s condition and would probably be coming by to check on him.
And after hearing Happy scream like that, said friends threw the tent flap open, revealing Lucy sitting in Natsu’s lap with her hands on his upper chest while he had one hand on the back of her head and the other resting on her rear, and with both of their lips looking red and a bit puffy it was pretty obvious what the two of them were doing and after the initial gasp of shock and moment of silence as they tried to process the fact that Natsu of all people was making out with someone, they all cheer in congratulations for the couple, saying things like “well it’s about time!” and “I knew this quest would get them to confess!”, which was a pretty common one because it rhymed.
And people began to pass Jewels to each other which made Lucy upset because she didn’t like the fact that their guild mates were betting on her love life but it was hard to stay upset at them once she saw Makarov tearing up and sniffling at the front of the crowd.
“I knew Gray would get his act together and confess to Juvia at some point.” Makarov says as he wipes his tears on his sleeve. “But to think that you’ve finally matured enough to confess your feelings for Lucy too? I couldn’t be prouder of my children!” Makarov sniffles again and Lucy and Natsu rest their heads together while they both look at Makarov fondly. “Oh I never thought I’d live to see the day!” He exclaims.
“Hey! Give me some credit old man, I’m not as oblivious as that ice dick and everyone else thinks I am!” Natsu shouts back at him angrily, but then Lucy’s laughter calms him down and she lays her head against his chest and he rests his own on top of hers before gently kissing her forehead.
“This is so unfair!” Happy wails. “I’ve known about romance longer than Natsu has! How come this idiot manages to get a girl before I can?”
“Well if you wanna follow Natsu’s lead, it looks like if you want to get some action, all you’ve got to do is get yourself injured and then a girl that likes you will not only patch you up but feel you up too!” A drunk Cana teases.
“Hey I was not feeling him up!” Lucy argues.
“Whatever you say Lucy!” Cana laughs. “Either way I’m proud of you girl. And proud of you too Natsu. The two of you are really growing up.”
“I guess we are. And that was a great idea you had there for Happy too!” Natsu says and ignites his fist. “Here Happy, if you wanna get injured I’ll help you out!” Natsu growls, making Happy sweat.
“Ahhh! No don’t hurt me! I take back what I said about you being an idiot when it comes to women!” Happy rambles as he flies back out of the tent as fast as he can.
“Ouch.” Natsu groans and drops his fist while looking at the bandaged area on his arm.
“Hey be careful. You’ll be all healed up soon enough but for right now you need to save your strength and take it easy.” Lucy says.
“Okay. Whatever you say Lucy. I’ll take it easy for you when I can help it so you don’t have to worry so much.” Natsu says before leaning down to capture her lips.
Both of them were grinning into the kiss from the sound of cheers and wolf-whistles congratulating them from outside of the tent.
-----------
A/N: So yeah I don’t know how I came up with the idea for this fic. But it just popped into my head and I thought it was really good so I decided I should share it with the rest of you! I hope you all thought it was as good as I thought it was in my head.

I used to be a Fairy Tail fan when I was a teenager and I really enjoyed it, so I decided to watch it again. I'll talk about some things that I've realized now that I'm older.
It's true that the author forgot where he was heading to. At some point, the fanservice got stronger and stronger, even in the Magic Games the strong Mirajane decided to do a swimsuit modeling competition against Jenny (is this her name?) and all the female characters suddenly decided to wear swimsuits too, because why not. That was the moment when I finally thought, "wow, he really forgot the main story just for that". Of course I had already realized since the beginning that the fanservice was too much, but I was still willing to let it go, since most old shonen were / are just like that (I don't know how shonen mangas are nowadays, it's been a while since I've last read manga). One Piece, for example, which is a story that I personally love, likes to give the female characters those 50kg boobs and they get bigger every episode; the author, though, didn't forget what his main story is. Bleach, a manga that I still want to finish just for the sake of finishing, also has the same 50kg boobs; the author was lost and couldn't create the story he originally wanted to, but at least that wasn't because of the fanservice.
Fairy Tail has a good main storyline. Their magic world and all the dragons and Zeref stuff were great for a nice and lasting shonen. Suddenly, though, the author must have lost his notes and memos somewhere, because the story just became full of random stuff with no endings or no correlation, and I'm not talking about fanservice yet. I won't talk much about the storyline because I haven't finished reading it yet, but that's what I've seen up to now.
Why do I still watch / read it? Some characters have really good concepts. Natsu's main story is interesting; Gray, Erza, Wendy, the cats, even Lucy have nice background stories. Though they are sexualized a lot, the women are as strong as the men. The friendship part is cool as long as it's not too much (it's exaggerated mostly, but that's another shonen troupe). The rest though is just a mess.
What does it have, then? A story to just chill and watch. If you turn off your brain and get into the "friendship, loyalty" vibe without thinking much, just like we did with Dragon Ball or Naruto when we were kids, you can enjoy it. I think of it as a childish animation (of course forgetting the sexual stuff) that I watch for fun. The women are sexualized to the point where I do feel bothered about it, but all the men are also maybe unconsciously sexualized too, because they have to keep up with the women. I am a person who hates when everything has to revolve around sex, but I think I can let it pass if I just turn off my brain.
The ships. They are obviously fanservice, some are even too much to handle. Juvia for example is unhealthy towards Gray, sorry. Gajeel and Levy, though, have a safe relationship if you forget his past deeds. Freed obviously likes Laxus. I write some stuff sometimes and I have the personal theory that, after you set up a storyline, main events, and the characters' personalities, the rest of the story writes itself. The characters act on their own and you are just the person holding the pen, just like (if you have a religion) God and humanity. That's what I owe NaLu to. Natsu isn't a character who cares about romance, but he grew up. Lucy, on the other hand, is always conscious of Natsu and dreaming about love. If you think about the characters in the real world, they make no sense. But in the world that they were developed in, even if, or because, it's a super sexualized world, they ended up maybe feeling a little attracted to each other. Attraction isn't something we can just explain with words, there are many types of "attraction". Maybe it's friendship, family liaisons, just "some" (not love, but not friendship), we don't know. Just like when we have that super close friend, and, even if it's just because other people keep teasing you about it, or because you have read it somewhere, or any other reason, we at some point, even if it's for a fraction of second, think "lololol what if we liked each other"; no matter what the answer is, "hell no, I'd never do that", or "hmm maybe?", or "I just don't know", or "let's not think about it, I don't care", the attraction is there, be it love or not.
Anyway that's all that I see with my adult eyes. I had never noticed anything between Natsu and Lucy when I was a kid. Now I see that there is something, and it might develop to love or just stay at what it is or vanish, and it might just be for fanservice, so what, if they get together or not is the fate written by that world's setup and god. So I don't agree with NaLu shippers, but neither do I disagree. I do disagree with shipping them just because they talk to each other though (Lucy says 'hey' and Natsu says 'sup' and everyone is like 'woooow NaLu!!!'), not everything is about attraction.
Wendy and Mest though??? I never noticed any weird feelings of him towards her in Tenrou Island, but I was surfing the Fairy Tail tag and found that people actually ship it?? Wtf??? That's so fcked up. I've always thought of it as him thinking "wow she's cute" but cute in the real CUTE sense, like innocent-meaning, just like I think she is a cute baby. He was horrified about her supposed death in Tenrou not because he had weird pedophile feelings, but because he felt guilty. He supposedly infiltrated Fairy Tail to destroy it, probably with the Council prejudice of "they all are loud dirty troublemakers", but he became friends with a nice kid who was just a kid and was kind to him, even helping him in the S class exam just for the sake of being kind. He felt guilty because he did nothing to save her and the guild, since she was just a gentle child and Fairy Tail was a cool place full of human beings who didn't deserve to get caught in the dark guild bullshit, not like what he must have heard at the Council. The fact that he is used for the pedophile jokes is the author's fault and sick mind, the character doesn't seem to harbor any ill perverted feelings towards Wendy.

Reactions to 100YQ Chapter 65 if you’ve seen it?
Spoilers!
I can only imagine this being about one thing, so I’ll get straight to that.
If you’re expecting me to be mad with the new ship developments, I’m not. Honestly, I don’t mind the idea of Edolas Nalu and Gruvia getting together and having kids, even though I’m not particularly hyped over either ship. In fact, I’d prefer this to be the way we end up with the Next Generation sequel we may or not be getting.
Of course, this does somewhat put into question how we interpret Earthland Nalu. This has been on my mind as I’ve thought to make a post regarding Edolas Albis post-Tenrou but never actually done anything with the idea. Generally speaking, the Edolas relationships aren’t opposites of their Earthland counterparts in status, so much as opposites in dynamic.
Gruvia, for example, was one-sided on both Earthland and Edolas when Team Natsu went through Anima. However, it was one-sided for different reasons. On Earthland, it’s because Gray didn’t accept Juvia. In Edolas, it’s because Juvia didn’t accept Gray.
Now, we know that Natsu and Lucy have a very close relationship, but on Earthland it hasn’t taken an overtly romantic turn as of yet. (I only say as of yet because anything can still happen.) Is this a sign that Nalu on Earthland will become romantic in the future or is this a red herring, a la Nack and Lucia? I can’t say for certain as of now but I’m personally leaning towards the latter. We’ll have to wait and see where Mashima takes this.
As for my thoughts on the rest of the chapter, I think the twist of going to Edolas is a cool one. I’ve been wondering how they’ve been handling everything since they left and I know I’m not alone. It will be interesting to see how Edolas has changed and how they all escape without magic. This might be my favorite new development in the sequel since the reveal of Touka as an Exceed.

1, 7, and 36 for the ship meme thing? Any ship!
1. List 3 shipping tropes you love
Fake Dating/Marriage
Belligerent Sexual Tension
Cannot Spit it out
It all just comes down to slow burn in different flavors sdlkfjslkdf
7. Polyamory or Monogamy?
For the most part, I prefer monogamy more but it all depends on the ship. For example, I love Natsu x Lucy just as an OTP, but I could see Sting x Yukina x Rogue x Minerva as an OT4 🤷🏻
36. Describe one example of comforting after a bad day.
I don’t have any real ship in mind for this, but pampering. Having their SO make their favorite meal, drawing a bath for them, giving a massage after, etc.... Just seeing a character having a bad day just to get showered with love would be 🥺💓🤲

The Road Not Travelled AKA Fairy Tail’s Lack of Motivation
I know. I know. Another long-winded post about why Fairy Tail isn’t good, but before you fire up the reblog button calling me a hater, I just wanted to say my peace about something that has been bothering me about the series, almost since it started. That is (as the title clearly states) Fairy Tail (and by extension Hiro Mashima’s) lack of motivation when it comes to its characters.
Warning: This post is going to be very messy. This is mostly a rant/scattered thoughts about a variety of different things in the series. If you’re looking for more cohesive breakdowns of the series faults, I suggest looking at posts from @thegreatrhapsode, @ac-fairytail, and a few others since they would be much better at this than I am. Let’s get started.
So what do I mean by “A lack of motivation”? It’s simple really. None of the main characters in Fairy Tail have anything to do and thus aren’t motivated to do anything other than what they have been doing. I’ll break them down.
Natsu: When he is first introduced in the series it was established immediately that his one goal in the series was to find Igneel. It was this goal that lead him to Hargeon where he met Lucy, and it was also what spurned him to go find Macao for Romeo. It is also one of the first things Mirajane tells Lucy about Natsu after she joins the guild. He forms a connection to Gajeel over their missing parents, and it is also one of the first thing Jellal says about him when he bursts into Erza’s mock trial.
Natsu’s singular focus in the story should be investigating any lead he can on Igneel...but after Phantom Lord he seems to lose motivation (there’s that word again) in favor of just doing whatever at the guild. Now I’m not saying every single arc Natsu should be out looking, but the fact that after Phantom Lord, Igneel isn’t really mentioned again until Eclipse poses a very large problem for Natsu as a character and the story as a whole.
Even when given a new goal (that of killing Acnologia) he still meanders around until the final fight to put the guild back together.
With a goal so concrete in his mind, it would only make sense for the story to form around this idea and have arcs centered on it, but it doesn’t so Natsu is left dicking around with nothing to do. But he’s not the only one with this problem.
Lucy: Arguably the best developed character in the series, she suffers from a lack of motivation very early on. It was established not long into the story that her goal after joining FT was to gather all the Zodiac Keys (and finish her novel but that was never all that important and more of a character quirk). It wasn’t as pronounced as Natsu’s goal was, but it was progressing further than his. She already had Aquarius, Cancer, and Taurus before the story began, she acquired Sagittarius as early as the second storyline after the Everlue job, helping Loke gained her his Leo key, beating Angel during the Oracion Seis arc granted her the Gemini Twins and Scorpio, and Loke defeating Caprico helped Lucy regain her mother’s Capricorn key (which she was originally supposed to have anyway).
Her goal seemed attainable...until the GMG (This arc was responsible for A LOT of FT’s problems, but that’s a post for another day). Yukino presents Lucy the chance to complete her goal by offering the remaining zodiac keys, but Lucy refuses.
Now her reasoning is sound enough, being a CS wizard herself she knows how important the bond between a spirit and their wizard is and wouldn’t feel right breaking that up. That is fine and speaks to Lucy’s character, but the problem arises in that there is nothing for her to do after this moment. You could argue that her new goal is finding Aquarius’ new key but that is established so late into the story that it’s pretty much moot (even the sequel hasn’t done much with it at this point).
Happy: Never really had any long lasting motivation outside of what Natsu wanted. Moving on.
Gray: Probably one of the biggest wastes of potential in the series when it comes to rival/best friend characters, Gray almost immediately stagnated after Galuna Island. His mission of “killing” Deliora done. He was aimless until literally Tartaros when he met Silver, after which his motivation became “Kill END” and we all know how that ended.
Erza: Has pretty much the same problem as Gray, but worse. After her issues in the Tower of Heaven were solved, she was pretty much done for the rest of the series. Any significant change that could have been brought to her character was swiftly tossed aside in order to keep the status quo and she became a shell of herself as early as Tenrou Island. A mere two arcs later.
Wendy: Probably the most developed character after Lucy (in my opinion) she was both blessed and cursed by having her issues resolved in the same arc she was introduced. After that, she pretty much integrates into the guild immediately and seems to have no goals other than “get stronger” and “be less clumsy”. Both are admirable, but nothing worthy enough to justify her being a main character.
Compare FT’s main cast to that of One Piece or My Hero Academia’s. Now you can argue that a lot of the characters in both these series aren’t well developed, but the one thing both Oda and Horikoshi excel at over Mashima is that their main characters have goals that can be carried throughout the series and, characters with less broad goals don’t overstay their welcome. They do what they are introduced to do and leave soon after.
In OP, the main goal of the story has always been finding the titular treasure. It’s a defined goal, but also broad enough to carry the characters throughout the entire series.
Luffy’s goal is to find the One Piece, but not only is the story framed around this idea, Luffy’s crew is as well. Zoro wants to become the world’s strongest swordsman, an easy way to do that is travelling the world and defeating strong opponents. Nami wants to map the entire world, best way to do that is travelling it. Usopp wants to be a “brave warrior of the sea”. He does that by doing various feats across the world and building his legend. Sanji wants to find the All Blue, Chopper wants to be the world’s best doctor, Robin wants to find the Poneglyphs and learn the world’s dark history, Franky wants to create the world’s best ship, Brook wants to reunite with Laboon after travelling the world, and Jinbei wants peaceful coexistence between Fishmen and humans.
With the possible exception of Jinbei, everyone’s goals (while vastly different) center around and are bolstered by Luffy’s search for One Piece. Helping him in turns helps them, its mutually beneficial and thus creates a group of characters who are together because they want to be, not because they have to. They want to see each other succeed and feel like actual friends (instead of yelling about friendship every five minutes while being massive dicks to each other)
Other characters who have arcs that are resolved leave before overstaying their welcome. Vivi is a prime example. She stayed with the straw hats long enough to reclaim her country from Crocodile, and then she was gone. Her arc was done, so there was no real reason for her to stay. She would only stagnate.
In MHA, all of Class 1-A share the same goal of wanting to be pro heroes, but all have their own motivations that go a bit deeper than that. Both Deku and Bakugou want to be as great as All Might, Todoroki wants to spite his father, Uraraka wants to make enough money as a pro for her family to live comfortably, and Iida wants to live up to his brother’s example just to name a few.
Since Deku is the main character the story focuses a lot on his personal journey to the top, but other notable characters get their shine when needed.
Even Naruto built its story about Naruto becoming Hokage from the very first chapter.
Bringing all of this back to FT. None of the main characters have any established motivation, and if they do the story either isn’t structured around it (Natsu), Drops it entirely (Lucy), or finishes it and proceeds to do nothing else with the character (Gray, Erza, and Wendy).
It’s not like Mashima is incapable of writing motivated characters. Rave Master’s main cast had various different motivations that either carried them through the series, or evolved over the course of time.
People called FT a ripoff of OP in its early stages (a comparison I still don’t quite understand), but maybe Mashima could have leaned a bit on Oda’s story structure.
Have the story actually center around Natsu’s main goal of searching for Igneel. Have him ask questions and going on jobs based on leads he had found, taking him (and his team) on various locales across the world. Build up the continent and its history with the dragons.
He could even leave the story for an arc or two, giving a side character (like Levy, Cana, Juvia, Mirajane, Lisanna or Elfman) a bit of time in the spotlight to develop their own stories along with the main cast.
Change him over time to be a more single minded character post-Tartaros. Have him ignore bringing the guild back together in order to find Acnologia, which would cause tension between him and his friends and add more weight to the END turn as his obsession grows.
If Lucy no longer wants the Zodiac keys, why not have her new goal be earning enough money to buy back her family’s home and land? Its a lofty goal to be sure, but it would add a little more weight to her desperation to go on a job other than “I need to pay rent”. It still amazes me that Lucy is supposedly came from a very influential family in terms of industry in Fiore, but no one recognized her name. They have a railroad named after them for God’s sake. Do something with that. Does she not have an inheritance?
Gray is a little harder to pin down since most of his character is tied to Deliora and with him gone there isn’t much for him to do. SO if you don’t want to phase him out, you could evolve his motivation from killing Deliora, to finding Ultear. Have Lyon or someone (possibly even Jellal in Tower of Heaven) mention that Ultear is still alive. Gray’s mission would be looking for her in order to make amends, which would lead to their fight on Tenrou, to which after his goal could once again evolve into defeating Zeref for creating Deliora in the first place, leading to the fight with Natsu.
Erza is simple enough. She is heralded as Fairy Tail’s strongest woman, so why not have her actually lean into that and try to become a wizard saint? The near death experience would have spurned her choice, leading to an arc explaining the saints and how to become one. Erza could fail to be accepted (something she never seems to do post-Tenrou) and the rest of the story could be her working up towards that goal, and in a change of pace you could KEEP HER AS GUILD MASTER.
One of Fairy Tail’s biggest problems is its unwillingness to change. Everything and everyone just sticks to the status quo and the story suffers all the more for it.
Keeping Erza as master changes the entire dynamic of the team because the story would have to phase Erza out and put someone else in (again either Juvia, Cana, Elfman, or some other notable side character).
Wendy’s motivations could be the same as Natsu’s, finding her dragon. Her relationship with Grandeeney is arguably as strong as Natsu’s with Igneel so her joining him on his jobs wouldn’t be much a stretch. You could even add Gajeel for an arc if you wanted. Three dragonslayers and three exceeds.
I say all that to say that one of Fairy Tail’s most frustrating aspects is its refusal to realize the potential of its characters. There is so much to do in this world, so much lore and information imparted onto the audience, but the characters (and the author) seem to not care the least bit about it. They say they will do something, but don’t and that to me is worse than doing nothing at all.

A reminder that this blog is multi ship, meaning each ship is in their own verse (and should have their own tag), I will sometimes crossover some verses when they make sense, for example if they interact with the same muse and threads are referenced. Naturally that means the muse that is a romantic interest in one verse, will just be a good friend in all the others.
Guess this is also a good time to address the multiple Lucys I RPed with in regards to the KaiLu ship. I made sure Kaito meets her at different points in time, and has a slight change in with how he acts around her.
Lucy 1 @celestial-keys-princess: While not RPed through, lots of headcanons have been implied and discussed off site. This is the main Lucy I will bounce ideas off when it comes to the ship and headcanons. We got an art commision for them too, just saying.
Lucy 2: Don’t think the mun is here anymore, but it seems they’d just be friends here haha. Which I actually don’t mind, it’s best to just let things RP out!
Lucy 3: @celestial-weirdo-lucy: Kaito meets Lucy after Natsu brings her to join Fairy Tail, and tries (his best / too hard) to impress the newcomer.
Lucy 4: If there is a next one, Kaito will first meet Lucy on Galuna Island. His crush on Lucy is more subtle here, he won’t try and impress her, but just lets her get away with things.
I will not be approaching another Lucy for a ship (even if it was the reason I made this blog lmao), but wouldn’t be against one that approaches me. Discussion and plotting ahead is important, and I know each mun does have their own spin on her. Also a shoutout to all those Lucy RPers out there on my dash, keep it up, you guys are doing great with making her awesome!

Analysis: NaLu Vs. Shipping?
As explained in another post, more often than not, what several shippers tend to offer contradicts established characterization and completely disregard consistent bonding.
While some often find logical or obvious regarding the connection between Natsu and Lucy as a potent relationship, other people might have their doubts because the typical shipping mindset sometimes overshadows the impact of NaLu moments and their solid chemistry. How can this happen if NaLu is a logical/evident conclusion?
Short answer: Shipping Hype
Many stories feature a wide variety of characters, some of them are cool, others are stylish, and some of them have some sort of appeal meant to charm some specific demography. That results on fans of such characters overhyping any scene that features them. This hype can often overshadow NaLu or move shippers to either water down scenes between Natsu and Lucy or degrade their emotional connection.
For example, when Lucy got to see and missed the chance to go to the Hanami festival, Natsu not only felt down while the guild enjoyed their party...
...he took action and uprooted a rainbow sakura tree just for Lucy to see. A great and sweet gesture that touched Lucy.
At the end of the GMG arc, we saw how the remarkable emotional attachment she feels for Natsu gets to transcend time and space...
...as we get a closure for both the story arc and her future self
But moments like these are often rivaled by shippers overhyping Lucy getting a pat on the head, having a stylish guy trying to flirt with her, or being the subject of a glorified Freudian slip. Often marrying Lucy to those cool, hunky, or stylish characters
So, let us ask: does Lucy's character demand such hype?
While she's aware of her "sex appeal", she easily gets flustered or even embarrassed, which is why her friends consider funny to playfully tease her from time to time. Still, Lucy doesn't actively seek to become more "intimate" with the men several girls (and some guys) usually drool for.
Instead, what do we get from her?
We have a mix of both subtle and meaningful behaviors along an earnest disposition coming from both sides in a ton of both minor and major interactions
In tumblr, you'll find some users tagging NaLu posts with the words Lucy uttered when they got into trouble and Natsu asked her to flee. She refused to leave Natsu, and while she risked her life, she stated: "it's more fun when we're together"
Some shallow shippers tend to use this tag too, even though they don't think about how meaningful those words were. Even if Lucy made that statement under some pressure, what she said is another proof of how she feels when she's with Natsu. When Lucy is with Natsu, she feels things are more lively, intense, and stimulating.
That fits in how Lucy's feelings for Natsu progressively grew while her relationship with other better-looking characters didn't get that much attention in the story.
One remarkable example comes from a moment when the author pandered shippers: Both Natsu and Gray catching Lucy as she fell. But the guy who was on Lucy's mind as she was drifting off was Natsu
Even the scene featuring Lucy saying Natsu's name was in full color. He is the person she thinks of the most
Another example comes from the narration from the time Fairy Tail was temporarily disbanded. Out of all her guildmates, who was who Lucy wanted to see the most?
The answer remains consistent: Natsu
Who does she seek for emotional support?
Who does she a solid chemistry with? I don't think I need to repeat how Natsu and Lucy affect each other
While shippers love to overhype several scenes or manga panels, Lucy herself doesn't hype those moments or the characters involved in them. In fact, if we are to talk about in-universe hype, Lucy was quick to defend Natsu's character from Dimaria's comments on him being a "monster", to the point she even got teased on how obvious her feelings for Natsu truly are.
So, in order for another premise to rival NaLu, you might need to overhype minor interactions, degrade NaLu consistent bonding, or both at the same time. No wonder why several shippers twist and corrupt NaLu to present their premises as something plausible. What Natsu and Lucy have is way too big and meaningful to leave untouched.
In conclusion, shipping hype shouldn't rival the appeal NaLu has as a potent pairing. A relationship that's not just based on something as shallow as hotness/sexiness, but instead it runs on the emotional impact of a long chain of significant moments and a chemistry compelling enough to draw people in. Their potential "steaminess" is merely a sweet (or spicy) bonus.

Rules Page for Mobile Users
LAW –––––
OOC Info:
Yo’s welcome to my blog, my name is Ben and this is my portrayal of Natsu Dragneel. Firstly I’d like to start off by saying that Natsu is owned by Hiro Mashima. I claim no ownership of said character nor do I claim to be Hiro himself. Secondly, all icons you see me use are credited to Mashima as well as Artists from the fandom. If you have any questions or concern please feel free to message me. Thank ya!
Private && Selective:
So for this I’d like to state that there are several reasons for why I am like this. Could be due to a falling out with whoever, busy with tasks IRL, bouncing between other blogs and such. As much as I like to do stuff here I’d like to be fair and say that my interest varies from time to time as well as my muse. There could be somedays where I don’t feel like getting on and somedays where I do feel like getting on.
I will answers asks such as memes BUT, if we are not mutual (which means you follow me and I follow back ) I will not respond to anything that you reblog from me. Which now brings us to the mutuals rule if you follow me I will look at your blog and follow you back if I like what I see. What I usually look for is just the rules and about page. Also another thing is I will not respond to anything that I’m tagged in if we are not mutuals. Lastly please do not take things personally if I don’t follow you back. The reasons could be that I don’t agree with some things or I haven’t seen the notification if you followed me.\
OC’s & Cross-Overs:
For OC’s I’m very open to interacting with them since I myself have an OC as well. However, they have to be well written. Which means the whole shebang (Back story along with Head Canons). Also any OC that Natsu hasn’t interacted with him; he will treat as a stranger. Mainly to create chemistry between muses, makes it more interesting to start from scratch. Which also leads to shipping with OC’s in general, I will only ship with OC’s if both muses have developed chemistry together where they can also develop feelings and attraction towards each other.
This one I can’t stress enough. If you have a character that has a backstory involving my muse such as tragic past, relationship Family or Friend. You MUST contact me to discuss. Starters that are automatically sent to inbox for example “You killed my family! In front of my eyes! I’m going to kill you!” will be deleted with no hesitation. Communication is key if I don’t agree with your head canon your character has with my muse. Don’t take it to face value. Just have to try again.
Cross-Over’s on the other hand I am very open to doing just as long as I know the series said muse is from. It’s always an interesting and exciting experience to have two characters from different universes interact with each other. Also I do not mind to either throw my muse into a different universe or to have yours interact in my muse’s universes.
Asks & Threads:
For asks as much as I like having my inbox spammed with multiple asks. PLEASE keep it to at least one or two prompts for each Prompt I reblog. Reason for this is mainly to keep things in check, it makes it very hard for me to answer each individual ask you send me. As well as other prompts that other muns send me. So please keep it at to a minimum of one or two per prompt. Lastly, if you do not see your ask be answered please do not take anything to heart. I either drafted the ask or replied to it but queued it.
For threads if we have a thread going on and I’m genuinely interested in it I will reply to it. Also If you have a thread going on and you wish for us to continue it. Feel free to message me chances are the thread is in my drafts.
Plotting & Winging it:
I am an awkward shy turtle, who also sucks at plotting from time to time. But I do enjoy a good plot just takes a while for me to come up with something good. Though if you have any ideas on a plot for our muses. Then by all means I am all ears, I’m interested in hearing on other peoples ideas.
Winging it which means just go with the flow of how our muses interact. Depends and varies from time to time. Where as to setting up a scenario for our muses aka plotting, winging it can either be good or bad. What I mean by this is that I can either be interested or not interested with how our muses interacted. But do not be alarmed or hesitant when I say this. Majority of the time I will be interested, so do not fear. :D
Tagging:
This is just for personal reasons but please tag your ships. I respect people and their ships, however I do wish for them to be tagged as there are some I do not agree with for personal reasons. I will most likely want Laxlu and Lolu. Along with others, everybody will get one if by chance you forget to tag them. But afterwards if I see any post without them being tagged. I will unfollow
Shipping & Smut:
I am a multi-ship blog meaning each character Natsu has a romantic ship with will be in its own universe. Ex: He can be shipped with x amount of Lucy, Levy, Lisanna, etc. HOWEVER, even though both Natsu and I are a multi-ship blog. As mentioned before there NEEDS to be chemistry and development in order for Natsu to be shipped with another muse romantically. For Natsu, it’s a long and slow process alike many others to develop feelings.
Smut however can happen with any muse with or without feelings towards said character. Could be mainly sexual attraction towards another character. However I will only smut with mun’s and muses that are of or over the age of 18.
Ships will be tagged with their tags along with a verse tag. NSFW threads such as smut will also be tagged to allow easy access to black list. As well as images & Gifs containing adult situations
Formatting:
PLEASE TRIM your replies and threads unless on mobile then it is easily understandable. However if you are replying on PC this can easily be fixed. There is an extension that works for Chrome and Firefox called New Xkit. Install that on your respective choice of browser then once installed should give you a message on the tumblr webpage to refresh.
Once the page is refreshed a window will pop up there are several tabs. The one you want to click on is “Get Extensions” scroll down and you will see an extension that says “Editable Reblogs” install that. Once that is taken care you can now trim posts, I apologize if this is a lot to ask. But it makes things a lot easier not only for us but for everyone else on the dashboard. Shorter & Trimmed posts makes the dash board a lot easier to scroll down than to continuously scrolling down a single thread that isn’t trimmed.
Also we don’t have to match each other’s length for replies nor do you need to have special texts. Reply with however length you feel comfortable with as well as your writing is good enough for me.
Triggers :
I do not have any triggers, however with whatever theme of the thread/RP my muse is in. I will tagged certain themes with tw: *insert theme here* (Trigger Name). If there is a certain theme you want me to tag please let me know. I want to make sure that everyone is comfortable.
OOC related things :
There will be times will I post things out of character. Which may contain several ooc/posts from the mun. Sometimes these posts will contain gifs or images so tag “tw:Images/gifs” and “Image/Gif warning”
Most of all have fun! Role-play is meant to be as a hobby where you can fun. If you read all of my rules state the following

Nothing More Chapter 9
A/N: One of my favorite chapters!
Rating: M
Ship: Nalu
Series: Fairy Tail
Chapter 8
xxx
Dan seemed to have frozen at the sight of Lucy. "Wow." Was all he could muster up.
Wow? Just wow? Lucy deserved so much more than that.
Dan quickly snapped out of his trance and handed a bouquet of roses to her.
Roses? How cliché.
Lucy smiled sheepishly and took the bouquet from him, resting it on the counter. " You don't look so bad yourself," she laughed.
Natsu rolled his eyes and scoffed.
She quickly turned to glare at him.
Lucy moved from the doorway to let the man in. "Dan, you remember Natsu."
Dan looked over at Natsu. "You mean the great Salamander who helped lead the Mag U's soccer team to nationals three years in a row? Kind of hard to forget." He held out a hand.
Natsu looked down at the stretched-out hand, wondering what to do.
Smack his hand away? Sounds like something a five-year-old would do. Then again, age was nothing but a number.
Natsu decided to take the more adult approach and responded to the handshake with a firm one of his own.
He forced a grin and looked over at Lucy who gave him a quick thumbs up. The guy was lucky he had an angel looking over his ass.
"Leaving a mark on the world is what I do the best," he said.
"Hopefully I can follow your example." Dan took a quick glance at Lucy.
To the untrained eye a person would have missed the mischievous glint, but Natsu caught that shit within seconds.
Natsu tightened his grip. "Be careful. My world isn't as easy as she- it looks. There are a lot of people that are more than willing to take you down a few notches."
"I'll make note of that, Dragneel." Dan's gripped Natsu's hand just as tightly.
"I can feel the testosterone from over here!" Lucy huffed.
Dan was the first to pull away from the handshake. "Just a simple greeting between men, beautiful."
"Right…" Natsu mumbled.
Natsu secretly hoped she didn't believe that for a second. He desperately wanted her to know how unhappy he was about this.
"Shall we get going?" Dan asked, completely forgetting about the man in front of him.
Lucy gave an excited nod, linking her arm with his.
She turned to Natsu with a small smile.
"I'll be back soon! Make sure the roses get some water," she said.
Those roses were going to die.
"Whatever…" That came out harsher than he intended.
He wondered if she could tell just how jealous he was.
Natsu saw Lucy frown out of the corner of his eye, but stood his ground as they left.
Just as the door was about to close, Natsu stuck his head out to watch them.
He watched as they walked towards the elevator Natsu called for their attention. "You better get back safe! I'm not afraid to go to jail for murder!" He didn't even wait for the two to respond before heading back into the apartment.
Natsu huffed falling back onto the couch.
Once again Dan was ruining what could have been the best night of his life.
It was college all over again.
xxx
It was the biggest party of the year.
The fraternity Quatro Cerberus threw one every year just for the hell of it. The DJ was always on point, there was an infinite amount of drinks, and the food was catered by the finest restaurant in all of Magnolia.
Anyone who was anyone got an invite and it was always a party that left people talking for months.
Natsu had arrived on his own with hopes to meet up with the others. He spotted Lucy walking in not long after. She donned her college hoodie along with a pair black leggings and her hair had been tied into a messy bun.
It was nothing special and yet she still found a way to look cute.
She smiled brightly when she saw him and walked over.
"Want a drink?" He offered, pointing to the table filled with various bottles of alcohol.
Lucy shook her head. "You know I'm not much of a drinker."
"That's because one sip is all it takes to get you shit faced," he snickered.
"That's not true!" She pouted.
He smirked. "Need I remind you of our graduation party?"
Lucy's eyes widened in horror.
Graduation night was probably one of the most embarrassing nights of Lucy's life and Natsu loved every minute of it.
Although, he could have been down without her thinking clothes were irrelevant and wanting to strip in front of everyone.
Lucy groaned at the memory. "Most embarrassing night of my life."
"I thought me walking in on you dancing to Britney Spears in a towel was the most embarrassing," he teased.
Natsu cackled at the sight of Lucy's red colored cheeks. Seeing her get embarrassed had to be the funniest thing ever. It made her cuter than she already was.
He poked her cheek playfully prompting her to try to bite his finger. With quickly reflexes Natsu pulled away just in time and wagged his unscathed finger in front of her.
She was ready to go in for another bite when Cana slid in between the two and wrapped an arm around Lucy's waist.
"I'm borrowing this cutie for a second." Was all Cana said before she dragged Lucy off to who knew where.
"Save a dance for me?" He yelled.
As Lucy was pulled through the crowd she smiled brightly. "Of course!"
Natsu knew he was grinning like an idiot, but he couldn't care less.
"A shame she came here alone. There are a lot of hungry wolves out there," said a masculine voice.
Natsu turned his attention to the voice that belonged to Dan Straight, captain of the Magnolia University's soccer team.
Natsu didn't speak to the man much unless he had to. He had no opinion of him nor did he really care about being in his presence. They were from two different cliques that were on the same team and that was it.
So, why of all nights wasn't he making himself scarce tonight?
Natsu's eyebrows furrowed. "You're making it sound like Lucy isn't capable of taking care of herself."
"I believe Lucy can manage on her own, but she needs someone who is on her level."
Natsu's eyes narrowed at his remark. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
Dan's lips formed into a condescending smirk. He glanced around the room until something caught his attention.
Or rather someone.
He had heard Dan was quite the ladies' man around campus. Going through girls as fast as Cana went through booze. Not really someone he wanted to be associated with.
Dan chuckled. "Just as daft as ever… It means exactly what it's supposed to mean. You don't have what it takes to provide for a woman born from money. She might not say it out right, but Lucy is part of a world much too big for someone who can't even tell the difference between diamonds and pearls."
Dan continued, "A woman with her looks deserves a man with fine tastes and with a body like hers, who wouldn't want a taste of that?"
Natsu balled his hands into a fist. There were many things he could forgive. Showing blatant disrespect towards Lucy was not one of them. Anyone who referred to her as a piece of meat was going to meet their end.
College scholarship be damned. "You son of a bitch!"
Right as he was about to raise his fist, Natsu felt a firm hand grab his wrist. Natsu turned to whoever had the balls to stop him from killing the bastard. He was met with Gray's cold stare and an equally angry Gajeel behind him.
Gray's grip tightened, looking from Natsu to Dan with a grimacing look. "Get lost, Straight."
Dan stared the three men down. He was a lot of things, but he wasn't stupid enough to take on Mag U's Iron Dragon, Ice Devil, and Salamander.
The man only smirked and made his way past the trio.
Natsu scowled, turning his attention to his friends.
"Gray, what the shit?" Natsu yelled, ripping his hand away.
Gray ignored his friend's glare as he watched Dan move across the dance floor. "You can't beat the shit out of him in front of everyone."
"Too many witnesses," Gajeel added.
Natsu looked around and saw that they had gained a few of the party goer's attention, but that wasn't going to stop him. "I don't care about that! He-"
Gray rested a hand on Natsu's shoulder. "We heard and we'll deal with him later."
"Let's get some drinks! If we're going to fuck someone up, I need some Corona in me." Gajeel said with a low grumble. Natsu knew he felt the same way as Gray in regards to Lucy. He might not say it, but he cares for his friends and wouldn't mind beating the hell out of someone to protect them.
It didn't take long for Natsu to end up on his own again. Juvia managed to pull Gray away and Gajeel got a bit preoccupied with his girlfriend.
Natsu let out a deep sigh as he sat on the steps leading into frat house with Dan's words continuously playing over in his head.
He didn't have what it took to be there for Lucy?
That was a load of bull.
When she graduated top of her class at Magnolia High, he was there.
When she got accepted as an intern for Sorcerer Weekly, he was the first person she called.
When her dad got into a car accident and had to spend two months in the hospital, whose shoulder was she crying on?
His!
Where was Dan? Most likely screwing his way through life.
Natsu didn't spend most of his years alive with Lucy to have some asshole tell him otherwise.
"I didn't expect to see you sitting out here alone." Said a young female voice.
Natsu looked up to see Lisanna Strauss staring down at him with a small smile. Natsu had known Lisanna from their childhood days. She was the total opposite of her siblings. While young Mira was a complete terror to be around and Elfman was painfully shy, Lisanna was very outgoing and friendly.
He smiled. "Yeah, it was getting a little crowded so I figured I'd get some air."
"Mind if I join you?" she asked.
He gave her a halfhearted smile and moved over for her to sit. "Not enjoying the party?"
"I was just stopping by to see a few friends. I'm going out to dinner with big brother and Mira. It's going to be our last one until big brother comes back from his two-months of training on Tenrou Island. They should be here any minute now."
Natsu raised a brow. "Training? I thought he was supposed to take a break."
She let out a heavy sigh. "You know how he is. He claims that a break isn't 'manly' and he doesn't want to slack off. Mira offered to help him, but he declined."
Natsu chuckled. "Afraid he'll get his ass kicked again?"
Lisanna nodded and laughed. "He claims her training regimen is too intense. He's a walking contradiction."
A contradiction that Natsu understood completely. Mira was Erza-level scary when she wanted to be.
They sat in silence for a few minutes just enjoying each other's company.
"H-hey, Natsu." She called.
He turned to her with a quizzical look. A blush graced her cheeks and she avoided his gaze the moment he faced her.
Was she getting sick?
"Lis, you oka-"
Without warning Lisanna leaned in to plant a soft kiss against Natsu's lips. His eyes widened at the sudden contact.
His brain couldn't comprehend what was happening nor could he move. How could a simple conversation lead to whatever the hell this was?
A few seconds went by and before he heard the faint sound a door closing then a car horn.
Natsu blinked a few times and looked around to realize he was no longer lip locked with young Strauss and he was alone again.
When did she leave?!
The level of shock he was in must have shut his brain down completely or he could have imagined the whole thing.
That last part was highly unlikely when there was only one woman he thought about kissing.
Natsu was brought from his thoughts when he heard the DJ's voice from one of the open windows.
"Let's slow things down with a little love song! Grab your special someone and hit the dance floor!"
A love song?
When your legs don't work like they used to before
He'd have to worry about Lisanna later, this was his chance!
Natsu bolted up from his seat heading back into the frat house.
When Natsu entered the vast room, couples were happily swaying to the music.
Moving further inside He found Gray with an eager Juvia pulling him onto the makeshift dance floor. Gray stopped when he saw Natsu and leaned down to whisper something into Juvia's ear. Juvia's smile fell once she looked over at Natsu, a worried expression visible on her face.
And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23
Gray probably used him as a scapegoat to get her off his back, as usual.
The two parted ways and soon Natsu found himself face to face with the young man. "Let's get out of here. I heard there's a better party down the street."
And I'm thinking 'bout how people
fall in love in mysterious ways
"Can't. Looking for Lucy." Natsu responded, his eyes scanning the crowd of people for his blonde-haired friend.
Gray frowned. "Natsu, maybe we should-"
Natsu pushed past him without a word. He was on a mission. He didn't have time for Gray's sudden interest in leaving. If it was to get away from Juvia that was something he had to deal with on his own.
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
It didn't take long for Natsu to find her nor did it take long for his heart to drop and anger to flare.
So, honey, now
Take me into your loving arms
There she was in the middle of the dance floor…with Dan.
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Dan's arms wrapped firmly around her waist and face buried into her blonde locks. Her eyes closed and head resting on his chest as the two moved in sync with the music.
Place your head on my beating heart
There was a small smile resting on her lips and while Natsu loved seeing that smile, this time it made his blood boil.
I’m thinking out loud
"Natsu.." Gray began, but Natsu was already walking away. He had seen more than he needed to and had no interest in staying for the rest of the shit show.
"Natsu, wait!" Gray called out but his words fell on deaf ears.
Maybe we found love right where we are
Before he knew it, Natsu was back at his dorm with Happy curled up next to him. He would glance at his phone to see the various unanswered text messages and missed calls from his friends. Mostly Gray.
Gray: Where are you?
Gray: We need to talk about this.
Gray: Gajeel says stop being a punk.
Gajeel: STOP BEING A PUNK!
Gray: We can still kill him.
Even Erza sent him a message.
Erza: We can make his death slow and painful.
Gray: NATSU!
Gray: Damn it, Flame Brain! Answer me!
The messages continued for another hour or so before they stopped. He wasn't going to deal with his friends pitying him. Not right now.
The last message he read before passing out was from Lisanna.
Lisanna: I wanted to apologize. I wasn't in my right mind and I hope this doesn't make things awkward between us!
She ended the message with a smiley face and Natsu smiled faintly.
Natsu: No worries!
He thought about texting Lucy to tell her he had left, but he decided against it.
She was fine without him.
The next few days were uncomfortable between Natsu and Lucy which didn't go unnoticed by more than half of the university residents. He didn't understand why she was so distant from him, but he couldn't judge since he too thought it was best to stay away.
Hanging out after practice stopped, sneaking into her shared dorm with Levy ceased, and pigging out on fast food at three in the morning while cramming for exams was no longer an option.
They rarely spoke and when they did, Lucy would cut their conversation short, claiming she had things to do.
It got worse when Lucy revealed she agreed to be Dan's girlfriend.
He didn't see her as much after that.
The only time he would see her was when they had classes, a game or when the whole group was present. Even then he had to see her with HIM. Wherever she was, Dan was there like an unwanted infection.
Despite the awkwardness, Natsu was fed up with not being able to see her. He did everything he could to be around her and while Lucy was still hesitant, she quickly realized she couldn't get away from him even if she wanted to.
When she got her internship at Sorcerer Weekly and moved into her apartment at the beginning of senior year, Dan was MIA for the first few weeks. He was involved with some military project halfway across Fiore which left Lucy on her own for a while.
Natsu couldn't complain.
Being able to have her all to himself again was like losing your most prized possession after years without it and suddenly having it in your arms again.
Lucy wasn't a thing, but Natsu cherished her like she was the finest jewelry that he was lucky to have all to himself.
On top of that, he got to stay at her place whenever he wanted, which was all the time. She rarely complained about his presence.
He knew she enjoyed his company.
Alas, his time with her was cut short when Dan returned.
Natsu tried to get over it, he really did. He saw how happy Lucy was and that was more than enough for him, but the constricting feeling he felt in his chest wouldn't go away.
After months of watching the two, Natsu concluded that there was only one way to get over his feelings. Find someone new and move on with his life. That was where Lisanna came in.
His friends tried to talk him out of it, but Natsu liked doing the complete opposite. They didn't understand the thought of not being with Lucy was killing him and he needed an out.
What he didn't realize was that he was using Lisanna and made her go through years of deception. She was his rebound and Natsu was too stupid to realize that.
Right after Natsu and Lisanna made things official, Lucy's relationship took an unexpected turn. Dan revealed he was leaving Magnolia and would be moving. He broke things off with Lucy, claiming long distance relationships never worked.
Something within Natsu told him that was big lie.
If you love someone, distance will never be an issue.
He did his best to comfort Lucy once Dan left, but he couldn't lie to himself and say he wasn't happy.
Things were back to the way they used to be and he had full access to his best friend again.
Natsu felt like such an asshole for feeling as happy as he was, but that happiness was cut short. While Lucy was free, he was still in a committed relationship.
Natsu highly doubted Lisanna would be okay with him being close with Lucy again.
How many boyfriends got the chance to sleep over another woman's house without it looking suspicious?
How many girlfriends were okay with seeing their significant other spending more time with their best friend than with them?
Natsu found himself in a situation that he didn't know how to get out of.
Breaking up with Lisanna sounded easy, but the guilt of hurting her just to be with Lucy weighed heavy on his heart. Natsu had to make peace with the idea of not being with Lucy like he wanted.
He couldn't stare at her without her noticing just to take in her beauty.
He couldn't hug her like he used to.
He couldn't kiss her like he wanted to.
Those were things he told himself he had to get used to.
Now, he was given a second chance.
If he was going to get Lucy's attention, waiting at her place like some lovesick puppy wasn't going to cut it. It was time to get fired up!
xxx
A/N: There you have it! Let's hope whatever Natsu has planned won't get him into too much trouble!
I'd love to know everyone's thoughts on relationships! I feel like Natsu being, to put it simply, stuck in his relationship with Lisanna is a common thing people go through. They stay with the person not out of romantic love, but out of obligation even if they don't want to admit it. They don't want to hurt the person and that's how relationships end poorly.
Next chapter we are back to our favorite stubborn blonde! Stay tuned and review!

I feel conflicted about chapter 537. The shipper part of me is satisfied that my faves are finally free from their torment and can be happy together. Another part, however, weeps at all the character derailment and lost potentials in this arc, in Mavis who never truly got to shine as a strategist, in Zeref who never got to reconcile with his brother, and whose redemption would now never come.
Hello anon !
Well I 100% agree with you about everything ! I wanted to do a reaction post for the chapter but I think I’ll do it now instead, and address what you said in it. Please bear with me !
- About chapter 537:
I honestly didn’t like everything in the chapter, some panels were absolutely gorgeous (the kiss and Zeref’s face just after this when Mavis is stroking his face are everything, and the last page is pure beauty) but I wasn’t convinced by what unfolded before. It seems to me like Mavis’ reasoning about why she was the only one to die before was a bit shaky. She says that she was feeling contradictory emotions at the time, but why ? The Zeref from back then hadn’t done anything bad against her or the guild. But I mean, okay. Mashima had to give us a reason, although I personally think/headcanon that Mavis’ love was more immature compared to Zeref’s, due to their age difference (she was 24 and him 300) and also because she hadn’t been subjected to the curse for as long as he was. So his love overpowering hers was pretty much to be expected, because he was feeling incredible relief from finding someone to love after centuries of loneliness while she was more like a normal young woman falling in love for the first time.
However I liked seeing her being subjected to contradictory emotions in this chapter, it had been a long time since I wanted to see her feel the ‘emotional’ part of the curse, not just the death wave. And as for her love defeating him, I hadn’t really expected it, but I’m fine with it, obviously. At least it makes sense, since she had nearly a century to think about her feelings for him until they deepened that much, but I can’t help but chuckle a bit when I realize that the plan Mashima had been teasing us for 65 chapters was actually her kissing him :p
Other than that their convo was good, Zeref is true to himself and Mavis admitting that she looked up to him and admired him was absolutely great in my opinion. It conforts me in my opinion that what I like the most with this ship is that they have very fluid conversations with each other, there is no uneasiness or awkward interactions when they allow each other to be true to their feelings. I know that they value each other’s intelligence and have a lot in common, so I’m not worried, they will never run out of things to say to each other in the afterlife :)
And lastly for this chapter, other than the massive shipper feels, I really loved how Zeref wanted to make things right with Natsu (which will lead me to my next point) and how the curse really tormented him until the very end by taking Mavis’ life because he cherished it. I know this is what she wanted, but god it makes me sad. Ah well, at last they are reunited, and tbh I didn’t even mind Makarov’s revival, as he basically confirms that he saw them in the afterlife (since he was there just before they gave him their remaining lifeforce). Though it’s ironic that their last act was to play with life and death once again, but yeah. It’s fitting. Also ‘barefoot girl and jet-black boy’, this is such a cute description of them I’m gonna try my best to ignore my biggest pet-peeve that is WHERE IS MY ADULT-LOOKING MAVIS MASHIMA.
(this panel right here destroyed me, his eyes are so kind and full of relief, my heart bleeds for my son)
- About the lost potential in this arc and the shaky resolution:
I totally agree.
Zeref’s lack of redemption arc is definitely disappointing. Unfortunately I saw it coming since the moment we learned FT was going to end pretty soon, but I still thought that he could at least have a major redeeming moment, such as fighting Acnologia together with Natsu and Anna. I see a lot of people disappointed by Zeref’s entire showing this arc but in my opinion it was pretty solid until chapter 536. This chapter was a disaster. It was rushed, and the build-up to Zeref using Neo-Eclipse was so intense that him being stopped by a single punch left a really, really bitter taste in my mouth. I didn’t expect END to show up (and I’m glad he didn’t), and I expected nakama-power to defeat Zeref in the end, but not. in. this. way. I touched upon it briefly before, but Natsu’s emotions fueling him while Zeref’s weren’t strong enough appears to be very weak writing in my opinion. Also it is such a disappointing way to end the whole Neo-Eclipse subplot, which showed that Zeref had good intentions but bad means to achieve his goal. Instead of some interesting moral questioning, we got Natsu being selfish as hell and going away with it because he’s the hero. Okay. I’m trying hard not to be to salty over Natsu but it’s difficult, I’m sorry.
As for Zeref himself, it would have been great to show him finally having a chance at doing some good in the world instead of just disappearing with his girlfriend. So many villains in Fairy Tail had a shot at redemption, and Zeref’s entire arc seemed to point towards him working with the guild to defeat their common enemy. There was even some foreshadowing of this, what with him talking about past!Natsu and him defeating Acnologia together or when he talked with Gray (”would you lend me a hand ?”). He wanted to save the world so badly, and yet this ending doesn’t allow him to clear his name even a little. The most you pay attention to all these loose threads, the most disappointing the conclusion becomes *sigh*.
But moving on, the lack of reconciliation between Zeref and Natsu makes me so genuinely sad *weeps with you*. I’m looking back at the whole manga and tbh, my question is ‘why did Mashima make them brothers ?’ It didn’t change anything about Natsu’s character. He didn’t question himself about his view of brother’s motives, didn’t show him an ounce of compassion except for some recent chapters (527 if I’m not mistaken). And this recent build-up that made it look like there was going to be some positive change in their relationship just fell flat again. There was tremendous potential for these two to make amends. I didn’t ask for Zeref and Natsu to become best friends or anything, but some real mutual understanding would have been good.
The narrative let me down really hard because when I read moments like these:
I was 100% convinced that it was going to lead somewhere, you know ? Why have an antagonist as interesting as Zeref, someone who could bring some additional depth and conflict to Natsu and learn things himself at his brother’s contact, and end everything with a punch and Natsu vaguely waving at him ? The theme of family was omnipresent, and it should have led somewhere. For example, Natsu realizing that his family is not only Fairy Tail (I like the theme of ‘choose your own family’ but it’s not handled well in FT imo), and Zeref realizing that he was selfish in bringing his brother back to kill him.
I guess we could say Zeref didn’t have much development in this particular aspect too, but at least he implicitly acknowledged that he was wrong and wanted this reconciliation to happen. In the end, Zeref still loved Natsu enough to want to make things right with him, and I love him for this. Their relationship is a waste though. A tag-team battle against Acnologia where they learn to know each other would have been so good… *cries*
And finally about Mavis… I agree so much. Mavis was really handled very poorly in this arc. Personally I liked her a lot in Fairy Tail Zero, and she became one of my faves in there. But that’s because she was the protagonist, and had a lot of exposition and time devoted only to her character: her past, personality, strengths and weaknesses were all developed. She was a really morally-grey character that I enjoyed analyzing and seeing. Plus the chapters were longer, and Mashima took the time to develop his main cast.
As a main, Mavis was great. As a supporting character, especially in this arc… :/ She was mainly used as a plot-device (Fairy Heart), and a lot of things she did in this arc felt uncalled for. Why give her eternal magic if she couldn’t even fight a Spriggan by herself ? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Her only really good moments imo were her two (three ?) conversations with Zeref (who, in my opinion, brings the best out of her as a character because when she interacts with him she has to get out of the one-dimensional benevolent First Master persona Mashima forced her into) and the moment in which she escaped Irene with her illusions and stole END’s book (even though this wasn’t shown to us, which is a pity). As for the rest, she was forgettable and sometimes a bit ridiculous, such as when she instructed her men to look behind them. I mean, she’s still my favourite female character alongside Lucy, but from a writing point of view, having her have Ankhseram’s curse as well as Fairy Heart and be a legendary 120 year-old tactician and still managing to do almost nothing with that leaves a bad taste too, especially as a fan :/
Well I’m going to stop here, with one last plot-point that makes me conflicted about the whole thing: what about August ? I was almost sure he was going to greet his parents in the afterlife but apparently not ? I just don’t know. The whole pregnancy storyline was very controversial for various reasons, and I had a bit of a hard time swallowing it. But I accepted him being Zeref and Mavis’ son because I thought it would be a great revelation for Zeref to understand he always had a family in Mavis, effectively moving on from his desire to restart his life from scratch and bidding farewell to his brother. But in the end we didn’t get any of that.
I hope this doesn’t come off as salty or negative because it isn’t. I just wanted to share my impressions and conflicted feelings as well. There were great moments in the last chapter and as a stand-alone it is a pretty solid piece but when you put it in the context of the last dozens of chapters and see the amount of plot-points that were dropped and the resolutions that were hinted at (especially Zeref and Natsu’s bond) and in the end amounted to almost nothing, it is a bit painful to realize you have invested so much of your thoughts in this series and characters for such an ‘easy’ ending. But all in all I really enjoyed following the series and I’m grateful for Zeref’s character, he had the hardest life out of all the main cast but knowing he found peace makes me happy.

NALU IN CHAPTER 545 (thoughts)
Is it canon? I don't think it officially is yet but I don't think she was friendzoned either. I actually think it is still in development and it is implied that something may happen off panel or after the "end". In all due respect it crossed my mind that there wouldn't be a huge moment between them in the final chapter and I was worried that it may feel forced if there was because Nalu never got their big angsty moment like other ships did in previous chapters. That worried me and I actually thought to myself that as much as I loved this ship, it might not even happen because let's face it, there wasn't much development especially on Natsu's side of things. I feel like there WAS development from the very beginning but then it stopped and stayed at the same level for some time and never really progressed. We never got that moment where they really had to confront their relationship and because it was nearing the end and still nothing, I took that as a bad sign but still I had hope that Mashima would write something. A part of me is furious because I feel as though it was teased so much but a part of me expected it to some extent. What Natsu was getting embarrassed about in the silent chapter with Gildarts wasn't about a girl after all but the 100 Year Quest which fits with the context now that you think about it but the fact that it was deliberately silent shows Mashima wanted to play with his fans (at least to me) and knew people would get the wrong idea and expect more from Nalu. To me this is a really shitty thing to do to your fans. I'm sorry there's no reason why the 100 Years Quest had to be kept secret for so long. It was obviously to play with his fans' heads. It makes me question whether every Natsu and Lucy scene was just for shits and giggles and wasn't there to show any true development. Does this mean everything in Dragon Cry was total bullshit and we should all just forget about it? Or is it the case that Mashima is saving Nalu for a later project and that's why he hasn't made anything concrete? That could be a possibility. Perhaps we as fans need to accept what we got with Nalu because Natsu just wasn't there yet. I feel as though in the last chapters building up to the end, Lucy's feelings for Natsu were quite apparent. Yes she did things for her "friends" but there were a lot of moments where she just had Natsu in mind. She blushed like a fool how many times, she offered to keep him warm with her body when anyone else could have done it, she carried him and fiercely shielded him from harm, she wanted to fight Brandish one on one in order to keep him safe even though there was a high chance of her losing, she risked her life by tampering with dark magic and the way she cried when she thought she lost him again was absolutely devastating. The way she relates meeting him to the beginning of her life and her adventures with Fairy tail, if that's not love I don't know what it is. For Mashima to have her go through all that for Natsu and just let her be friendzoned is damn right cruel and if it ends up being the case and there is no extra chapter or sequel to fix it then he has a lot to answer to. But you know what? I refuse to believe he would do that to Lucy after such a roller coaster ride of emotions which is why I think he's saving them for later. I still have high hopes that it's not going to end there and there will come a time where both of them will be ready to take their relationship to the next step. Since we didn't get a whole lot of development from Natsu's side of things in the final chapters it makes sense for Natsu to react in the way he did. Wouldn't it be too random and really out of the blue if he just suddenly went down on one knee and proposed to Lucy when there hasn't really been a moment in the final chapters of him distinctly thinking about her? He was too busy fighting Zeref and Acnologia and what not. He might have acknowledged her now and then but is that really enough for a grand moment? I personally think that if the series wasn't so rushed to get to the ending and didn't end on the chapter that it did, there would've been room to develop and address their relationship a bit better. But it was too rushed and Mashima chose not to prioritise Nalu scenes so ending with Nalu in such a grand way would have appeared out of place probably. I personally believe that he had opportunities to take advantage of and develop Nalu but he didn't. I don't know whether it's because he didn't want to or time constraints. Perhaps he never will develop Nalu and he was making a statement by ending it the way he did or perhaps he plans to but prefers to surprise us later. Of course like many Nalu shippers, I am hoping for the latter. Perhaps he planned to but never got around to develop Nalu with the time constraints and needing to focus on concluding other areas of the story. Maybe he purposefully made it ambiguous for now so he can write their development and conclusion properly later on. He didn't want to give them something forced and cheesy so then he brought back Zervis for a little bit to kill a little time. That's me being optimistic though because it's highly possible that he was making a statement that he likes Zervis more by giving them 2 conclusions whereas Nalu don't get anything concrete. If you plan to surprise us later Mashima then thank you, I will appreciate it but if you teased and teased just to give us nothing in the end then fuck you. The moments you drew in Dragon Cry to hype them up as a couple were totally unnecessary and it doesn't make you anything other than a jerk, I'm sorry that's the truth. And fuck you for playing with Lucy's feelings, even she was expecting Natsu to do something more in the end. If I look at it from the point of view that Mashima just tried to make it look as natural as possible considering Natsu as a character and where he was in his development, it does make sense in a way. And there was a little scene thrown in there to imply that Natsu may be attracted to Lucy by comparing her to Anna. Sure it was indirect and not a huge declaration or anything but I don't think the scene was just put in there for nothing. It was used to convey that Natsu has been drawn to Lucy and not only because she looked and smelled familiar. It was added in there that Natsu had a crush on Anna and he just admitts it blatantly. Would it be that hard to believe that Natsu is drawn to Lucy because she is actually his type? I think Mashima was trying to say that by Gajeel's teasing and Natsu's confirmation. So even if he is not there "emotionally " he has potential to get there eventually because he is already there "physically" when it comes to Lucy. I believe he is already physically attracted to her and it doesn't matter that he doesn't get all shy and blushy than say Gray or Gajeel because it's not in his character to do so. He doesn't even get embarrassed when Gajeel teases him about Anna, Natsu just admitts it matter of factly. Also it is important to see the level of comittment in their friendship that isn't parallelled by others. For example when Lucy gets drunk at her party, it is Natsu along with Happy that take her home and make sure she's okay. They change her clothes, sleep with her and pack her bags for her. Natsu obviously cares about Lucy a hell of a lot to do that for her. Really he didn't have to and another girlfriend say Levi or Mirajane or Cana could have done that as girlfriends would do that for each other but no it's Natsu and Happy. It's almost reminiscent of how a husband or boyfriend would take their drunk wives or girlfriends home without her being conscious of it. It's actually a trope used in a lot of romantic comedies and when Lucy realises after the fact she even comments that's she'll "never be a bride" which may be forshadowing that she will be a bride to someone someday and he's right there (Natsu). It's meant to be an ironic twist by her stating the negative. He starts to say something along the lines of "but you'll have work to do" or "a job to go on " and that takes her back to their memories of first going on jobs together and becoming a team which is symbolic to the story and how Natsu and Lucy came about in the first place. It's only natural to think about those aspects. She says something heartfelt along the lines of she wouldn't be the person she is today without meeting Natsu and Happy and truly thanked them in tears taking them by suprise and I notice that they start sweating a little bit? Are they just worried that Lucy is crying and they don't want to see her cry or is Natsu getting nervous and feeling pressure to say something? He actually takes her by the arms and starts to say seriously that there is something he wants to tell her too. She starts to blush, get all flustered and even closes her eyes but Natsu runs off in typical Natsu fashion pulling her behind him reminiscent of their first encounter saying something along the lines of " who cares about that stuff, we need to get to work" . There are different translations and one suggests that what he wanted to tell her was about the job while others seperate going on a job and what he was going to say. By saying "who cares about that stuff" or " I don't care about that " means that there was actually something he wanted to tell her in response to what she said. But he decides to dismiss it in that moment because they have to go on a job and meet the others. What he wanted to say could have been the confirmation of the ship but instead Mashima leaves it unanswered or unfinished. Why is this so? For trolling purposes? Because it's in Natsu's character? For comical effect? To pay tribute to when Natsu first does that to Lucy and all those times in the series? To give us something to look forward to in future Fairytail projects? He could have been showing blatant rejection of Lucy's feelings and expectations and I can see why people would think that's the case. Maybe that's what it was, an actual "friendzoning " but there are reasons to believe that wasn't the case either if you look at it in perspective. It could have been the case that rejection of Lucy isn't Natsu's intention AT ALL given his density when it comes to romance and how to word things tactfully. Lucy then complains that he's the worst for ruining an emotional moment and he acknowledges that and says "it's okay, we'll always be together from now on" which would be his way of saying that disrupting one little moment where he could have poured his heart out is nothing compared to always being together. Being together is more important therefore she shouldn't worry about that. Natsu has never been the one to say romantic words and shows his feelings via actions so it does make sense for his character to behave this way. Of course I, like anyone would have loved to hear the verbal confirmation of Natsu's feelings but I don't think he was developed enough emotionally at that point to deliver it. I think he could have still been unaware of his feelings at that point. If he was unaware, he is yet to recognise his attraction and intense bond with Lucy as love but it's still there regardless and will likely be more apparent to him in the future when he becomes more mature. If he was aware then a part of him is still immature and clueless in how to deliver his feelings. He recognised there was something to say but he was still too exciteable about the job that he impulsively cut himself off from the topic. It may have come across as insensitive but I don't think it's because he doesn't care about Lucy, to him they had more pressing duties now and it's not like he didn't reassure her later. And I think people have different love languages and Natsu's is including people. He is including Lucy in this huge quest that he needed permission for so in Natsu's eyes he can't think about an adventure without her, she's an essential part of his team. That being said though I still think that we should be able to identify a couple in an easily recognizable way which isn't explicitly done with Natsu and Lucy which means they can be interpreted as either way. I do think that Mashima did this on purpose and it could be hinting at further development in future projects or maybe thats just how he always wanted Nalu to be. Since this "canonization" is not explicit enough for me, I would say that it isn't really canon or canon yet. I think their feelings and attraction have definitely been demonstrated but Natsu's maturity and emotional awareness needs to develop in order to meet with Lucy's. He might actually need a push from someone or someone to tell him what's up in order to start that chapter in his life or he might just develop with age and experience to see that having a family of your own takes two if you know what I mean ;) . I don't believe that Natsu just sees Lucy as a friend contrary to many others. He's just oblivious to his feelings or he's aware but fails to communicate them tactfully. After all I've seen I stand by my opinion that she's more important to him than any other female in the series. He's fiercely protective, loyal and has shown to be supportive and thoughtful of her to an extent that no one else has been. His actions don't hide his feelings even though he may not realise his feelings on a conscious level. I'm really hoping that this ship won't be the troll of the century because that would really suck. Let's hope that we'll be pleasantly surprised by some development after the "end" which may be really a beginning.

Maud girl, I love you, but you'll hate me for this ramble😅 A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed. Well, I'll go with all of them. For OTP, my biggest are EdWin and Royai (from FMA), Karmanami from Assassination Classroom and NaLu from FT. Friendships... I love GrayLu platonically and RoyxMaes is the best brotp😍 and of course I freaking loooove all friendships from Haikyuu and Akatsuki no Yona... And I love Zen and Mitsuhide's relationship in Akagami no shirayuki-hime and Al and Ed are best bros and the freaking platinocial relationship between Handa and Naru gets me everytime and I should probably gp to the next ask before I ramble more than necessary. B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind. Asano x Nakamura... I never even imagined them as a couple... Until I read a perfect fanfiction... And now I ship⛵️⛵️ C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will. I'll be hated.... But EdxRoy (just no, okay?! Mustang's like a dad to Ed!!) and Shirayuki x Obi because Zen😍😍 (I love their friendship tho) D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t. Yamaguchi x Yachi because I wnat Yams to be happy... But HinaYachi is love, HinaYachi is life!! E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? Not yet, but I joined FMABigBang so I'll add Ed being an overprotective drama queen (or rather, king) dad, so stay tuned! F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? Hmm... Almost a year in the FT fanfom!!! Happy birthday, I guess? G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it? I live for my OTPs! (Which just proved why I'm still single... I have my whole life aheeeaaaad~~) I think one of my first conscious OTPs (in that I knew what that was) was Harry x Hermione and it was shattered to pieces... Damn you, JK Rowling! (I still love you). H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)? Hmm... Anime. Because it's lively and you can actually picture the characters miving when reading a fanfic! I agree with manga too... And sometimes books. Movies feel just too real to be placed in cartoons, though. I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why? No, but the haters were closed to it. Tho I did stop liking the small Usagi Drop fandom because of the manga spoilers that ruined my experience... To those who want to watch it, take my friendly advice, PLEASE don't read the manga. The anime is the fluffiest thing, so please just watch that. J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.) Bnha, which is why I started reading it. And Voltron.... I'll watch that soon, too. K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? Uhm... Well that's a hard one. I absolutely love the subtle and endearing development in Oreki (hyouka) and Haruhi in Ouran, but my favourite has to go to Tsukki for how well-built it was!! Furudate-sensei, I bow im front of you. Also, honrable mention to Karma in Assassination Clasroom. L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.) I don't especially love oikawa. I admire him a tone, and I have a lot of his quotes forever saved in my phone, and I think he's the best setter of them all (I'm sorry, he has more experience and tehnique than Kags or Asaaahi, tho I agree that they'll become better than him in one year's time). So there: I aknowledge his amazingness altough he isn't my fave. M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend. Edward. I want to spend a full day with him and learn how alchemy works (and we'd complain together about how short we are). Also, Haruhi: I feel like she'd give the best advice when I'd need it. N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice). My faveourite fandom is FMA: everyone gets love and attention, and there's little to no hate. What I'd like for it is to make it alive again! I mean, there are events and the such, but the manga finished almost 10 years ago, guys! I hope the new live action will bring us back alive. O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of? Hmm... Well On my Own by Ashes Remain was the first one that popped into my head and it kind of reminds me pf Natsu. He's that character that would always smile, but he's always surpressing his feeling ('I've been stuck in a cage with my doubt/I tried forever getting out on my own') P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas). Random AU...? Honestly, I'm not the biggest AU fan, but if I had to, I'd choose 'we've been stuck in a traffic jam for two hours and we're bored, let's play cards; hey wait Gray, you're cheeting; no way I'm not!; mira, doing cutesy things won't help you win... Laxus don't give in!!; if Laxus is allied with Mira so is the thunder legion! Then I'm starting one on my own! Erza, I'll join... Great, now we have Wendy on Erza's side... All dragon slayers together! And exceeds! Wait lucy, starting a female club isn't gonna help ya! ...guys? That's not how you play pocker!' AU. Okay, I may like this one in particular. Maybe I'll write it:) Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why. I've abandoned the HP fandom. I still like the books, but I kinda grew out of it...? (And into anime😇) R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom? Uhm... In which one? If I'm going with FT, my favourite friendship is GrayLu. In FMA, it's a tie... I love Roy/Hughes brotp and Al/Ed brotp. In Haikyuu... Damn they're too many to choose! But I'd say the Karasuno third years: they have such a tight-knit bond!! And in AssClass it would be Karma/Okuda (it's canon in my mind but friendship in the manga). I just love how easygoing they are. Also, I love Karma/Nagisa in the second half. S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged) Hmm... There are many. My fetish is seeing people sleep: I think you can tell alot about their inner selfes from the position they use when sleeping and from their habits, because they can't control or put up a façade when it comes to that. So my headcanon is that despite being loud and obnoxious, Natsu actually occupies less space than Lucy when sleeping: he takes a baby-posture, while she lashes all over the bed, sometimes punching him im sleep unintentionately. Natsu learnt to deal with it: he actually likes holding Lucy close to make sure she's safe while sleeping. She doesn't mind, especially not during winter. Oh and they also cuddle with a cup of hot coffee in their hands during the morning. Just an after-thought~~ T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? I do! I don't care if you agree or not, but Karma can be sweet, okay? Like he can actually be a good boyfriend (tho maybe a bit possessive). He's the best at telling what's on Okuda's mind and he always buys her toffee when she's feeling down. Oh and also, Riza is a very good mother, always putting her family first. Just letting you know. U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites. Yes!! 1)Karma-assassination classroom. He's that one character that believes he's the best, only to get proven that he can be wrong. What's evenbegter is how he has room to develop and grow to be a better person... Plus, it seems I have a thing for evil goofballs. 2)This is a hard one, but Ed/Roy-Fullmetal Alchemist. I abso-freaking-lutely love all the characters in FMA, but these two attracted my attention. Ed because of how he thinks, how he wants to do good deeds in spite of his thorny exterior and how he miserably fails. I love the way he admits his failures and the way he deals with them can be childish (he's 14, for God's sake!) but he learns from them. Also, Roy because even though he went through Ishval, he still dreams of making the world a better place. I can respect a man who doesn't step over the ethics just to achieve that dream and who always bends and avoides hurting others, while never giving up. Maybe it's a dream, but I very much resonate with it. 3) Lucy from FT. She's the one character in Fairy Tail that has enough of a backstory and is weak enough to evolve. Moreover, she's not your typical girl: yes, she cares about how she looks, because she IS an woman, but she also cares about what's on the inside. She cares about her friends more than anything and even without being the strongest mage, still puts herself in danger for them. I love her resolve and her cute side, too. V - Which character do you relate to most? Hmm... Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran Highschool Host Club. Haruhi is the type to do things on her own and she repells the help of others to do her thing, which I also tend to do. Also, she shoulders a lot of her worries by herself. Plus, she never judges people on appearance and doesn't care about her own (being a girl, that's rare and helps me relate all the more). I just love her😍 (and sometimes am compared to her by my friends). W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom. Whiny female protagonist. I'm not a feminist or anything, but I've had enough of that! Yes, we all want a prince charming, but we can carry ourselves, thank you very much. X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom. Someone pursuing their dreams. Also, I love genre deconstructions (browny points if it's comedic). Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)? Voltron and Yuri on Ice (I feel like I've watched this shows even though I haven't). Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.) Don't tempt me, I will! ( I kinda have this whole post tho) Okay so I'll rant about FMA because I feel it doesn't get all he love it deserves!!! (And because I refrained from fangirling on it up to now) And since we're talking FMA, let's talk Roy Mustang (you knew this would come). Roy is just one of those very strong people that are actually just goofballs on the interior and need love. Seriously, let's take a look at what this guy went through, ok? He's an orphan, but he never complains and learnt to love his cousins (sisters) and aunt (mom). He was taught by a pretty crazy (very talented, but Hawkeye did have a screw loose for inscripting a tatoo on Riza's back and you can't convince me otherwise) alchemist, and yet he managed to become the next flame alchemy. Despite being told not to, he joined the military with a childish dream and even after learning of the harsh reality in the Ishval war, he still went on believing that he can make the country a better place. Yet he's not perfect: he can lose his temper when it comes to those he loves (Mustang being killed) and he doesn't want any more people to die. He cheerisbes his team and wants to keep them all safe. He can be a cheapskate and also a bit of an annoying guy with Ed, and he can be obnoxious, yet funny as hell (tiny miniskirts!!!) Above all, Mustang feels HUMAN! Yes, he puts up a great act, but it's an *act*. He has a more sensitive side and you better not mess with it, or he'll burn you to ashes. This concludes the short version of my Roy Mustang appeciation post. Also, I have some headcanons about him being best dad (and his child being a daddy's girl/boy because of it) and of being a pretty intimidating Führer. This concludes my post. @bookstvseriesandanimes and @paperrabbit13 know what I'm talking about😅 And I tag @bookstvseriesandanimes @paperrabbit13 @shoujoinsights @candyforever123 @funnyshoujomoments and whoever else feels up to it:)

My FT questions answers
So regarding my previous post here are my answers to my Fairy Tail Questionnaire.
1. How did you first heard about Fairy Tail?
From my friend Beth. I saw how much she liked it and when she suggested that I check it out I did. I have been hooked ever since. And it’s become my favorite anime of all time, because I never have been more emotionally invested in an anime before.
2. Do read the manga, watch the anime, or both?
I do both. Haven’t been watching the anime lately, but I’ve been keeping up with the manga now. BUT I HATE SPOILERS, SO DON’T TELL ME ANYTHING UNTIL THE TRANSLATION COMES OUT!
3. Who are your favorite character(s)?
I really love all of them, but my top 3 are:
Levy McGarden, I like her because she’s a fellow bookworm, she’s cute, intelligent, and really needs to be the focus more often. Pantherlily. I love how he can go from this big creature, yet can change back into this small cute thing. He’s bad ass and adorable. I call him Badorable. And really my absolute favorite character is Gajeel Redfox. I could really talk for hours on why he’s my favorite, but to sum up I like him because he’s a complex character.
A Complex character, also known as a Dynamic character or a Round character displays the following characteristics:
He or she undergoes an important change as the plot unfolds.
The changes he or she experiences occur because of his or her actions or experiences in the story.
Changes in the character may be good or bad.
The character is highly developed and complex, meaning they have a variety of traits and different sides to their personality.
Some of their character traits may create conflict in the character.
He or she displays strengths, weaknesses, and a full range of emotions.
He or she has significant interactions with other characters.
He or she advances the plot or develops a major theme in the text.
Gajeel has done most of those things on that list.
And to be honest when he first appeared I really didn’t hate him. Yes what he did was wrong, especially regarding Team Shadowgear, but I had this small feeling, ever since I found out that he was a Dragon Slayer that he was going to be an ally to Fairy Tail, never expected him to join though. I’m so glad he did!
4. What is a character or characters that you absolutely hate? And not even love to hate, you wish they were never in the story to begin with.
Future Rogue. That bastard kill Future Lucy, and I will never forgive him for that. Even if he apologized. Seriously I cried so hard when I watched that part in the anime.
5. Do you own any FT merchandise?
The first 20 volumes of the manga, a Capricorn key charm, Natsu plush, Lily plush, small Happy loaf plush or Tsum Tsum, a Mirajane keychain, a Gajeel keychain, a notebook, exceed bracelet, a FT symbol keychain, a wallet, and 2 T-shirts.
I think that’s it.
6. What is your favorite opening?
I have 3.
Snow Fairy ( the first and probably the most recognizable)
https://youtu.be/T2dy-atGDyg
Rock City Boy ( Fun fact the singer is actually American, but he lived most of his life in Japan)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX3v651Ip8E
I wish ( I like this one because it’s the only one where I think I could do a cover of it. It’s in my vocal range)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTDpmFv4Ovc
Honorable mention goes to the 1st movie’s opening 200 Miles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br0zVupkx-c
7. What is your favorite ending?
Be as One
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n5em5vZoaQ
You, He, Me, and She
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=470d_pi1F3w
8. What is your favorite character song?
Well, since Gajeel is my favorite character, my fave character song, is his song My Iron Blues. It’s awesome, fun to sway to, has female back up singers, and I like his singing very much.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdS93Qp9H84
Also for you Yuri on Ice fans, this the same guy who sings You Only Live Once
You’re welcome for that random piece of trivia.
9.What is your favorite instrumental track?
Any version of the main theme.
Original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6kb96YWXMA
Slow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loi4bYzXvAw
Piano https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qk2jYmZerD8
Metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiT8Ct0cQzM
Tenroujima https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At_zB-pK3JQ
I also like Dragon Slayer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJoKUq8j1Ns
Natsu’s theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhevjjbvWmw
Lucy’s theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L26TQP7Qe9I
Happy’s theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAIFonqW4SY
One thing I love about FT’s music is the Celtic feel to it. My family is Irish and Scottish, so it makes me think of my heritage.
10. What are your FT ships?
I ship:
Nalu (Natsu x Lucy)
Gruvia (Gray x Juvia)
Jerza (Jellal x Erza)
Elfgreen (Elfman x Evergreen)
Laxana (Laxus x Cana)
RoWen (Romeo x Wendy)
LoRies (Loke x Aries)
Albis (Alzack x Bisca)
Rerry (Ren x Sherry)
Cappy (Carla x Happy)
Kinbara (Erik x Kinana)
StingYu (Sting x Yukino)
But my OTP for the series is Gajevy (Gajeel x Levy, which is canon now! YAY! )
11. What is an unpopular opinion you have aka something that you do that is not normal to the FT fandom?
I’m a NaLu fan that does not hate Lisanna at all. I hate how so many Nalu fans hate her just because she “gets in the way of NaLu”.
That’s one thing that bothers me with any fandom. When people hate on a character just because they get in they way of their precious OTP.
I’ve said it before, but I think that is a stupid reason to hate a character. If the only reason you hate a character is because they ruin a ship for you, kindly go back into your small corner of the world, where you can bitch and complain all you want like the immature brat that you are.
The rest of us adults, are going to ship what we want, and respect each other’s choices, and not hate on character solely for that purpose.
Lisanna did nothing wrong, and all those fan fics that portray her as this bitchy chick who “steals” Natsu from Lucy and makes Lucy all depressed and shit makes me want to gouge my eyes out every time I read one.
I respect the fact that some people don’t ship NaLu, I respect the fact that I don’t ship NaLi.
NOW CAN WE PLEASE ALL JUST GET ALONG AND BE NAKAMA LIKE WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE?!
12. Do you draw/write FT fan art or fan fiction?
Yes, check out my DA here http://purplekatz93.deviantart.com/gallery/42409453/Fairy-Tail
Maybe I’ll post stuff here soon, old and new.
13. What is one thing about FT that pisses you off?
So many unanswered questions, for example WHERE THE HELL IS LAXUS’S MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER?! I KNOW HOW BABIES ARE MADE SO HOW THE HELL CAN IVAN AND LAXUS EXIST WITHOUT A MOTHER?!
At least we know about Makarov’s mom now.
And we do know more of the dragon slayers’ past, but I still have my headcanons about their biological parents, or at least Gajeel and Wendy’s. Like how Metalicana and Grandeeny found them. Let me know if you want to hear them. Bear in mind they are quite depressing.Don’t have any for Sting and Rouge. And as for Natsu, well I did have one, but that went out the window and I think you know why.
14. If you could put the FT cast into another show what would it be and why?
It’s a weird choice but I chose Scrubs. I could just see it. Natsu=JD (It be funny to see Natsu have all those crazy daydreams, wouldn’t it?) Lucy=Elliot (If Natsu and Lucy did live in another universe, I think they would be an on again off again couple until they were ready to be with each other.) Juvia=Carla (Putting Carla as Carla would be too obvious, and I know it doesn’t exactly match up, but I have this headcanon that Juvia can speak Spanish, because Juvia;s name is the Japanese spelling for the Spanish word rain or lluvia) Gray=Turk (I know it doesn’t really fit, but had to keep him and Juvia together.) Laxus= Dr,Cox (Can you just imagine how funny it be if Laxus did a Cox rant?) Cana=Jordan (I feel a relationship between Laxus and Cana would be like the one Jordan has with Dr.Cox) Gajeel=Janitor (One of the best characters in the show, and it be funny to see Gajeel prank Natsu) Levy=Lady (She’s the Janitor’s girlfriend and later wife in Season 8) Hades= Dr. Kelso (Hades is evil but a recent chapter in the Tartarus arc showed that he kind of still has a heart, so that’s why I picked him)
Freed=Ted (I just think it be funny)
Loke=The Todd (both are bit of playboys and be funny to see Loke question his sexuality) I do have others, but they’re only characters that appeared in one or two seasons so I’m not going to bother.
15. What are some musicals you put the FT cast in? (I only put this question in cause I’m a theatre geek)
Shrek the musical
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Hairspray
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper
Barbie as the Island Princess
Barbie and the Diamond Castle
If you want I can tell you who I would have play each part. Some I’m still figuring out, so not all roles have been cast yet.
16. Do you cosplay or plan on cosplaying any of the characters?
I cosplay as Mira(no pictures available) and Levy which I do have pictures of on my DeviantART account. Let me know if you want to see it.
I’m gonna post it on here soon.
Now all I need is a Gajeel.
17. What are your favorite arcs?
Phantom Lord, Fighting Festival, Edolas, Tenrou Island, Key of the Starry Sky, Grand Magic Games, and Alvarez. What do they all have in common? There is focus on Gajeel in all of them. Some more than others.
18. If you could join any guild what would it be?
Fairy Tail, duh.
19. Have any FCs?
Yes, Valerie Saline who you can learn more about here http://purplekatz93.deviantart.com/art/Fairy-Tail-OC-Bio-361202036\
http://purplekatz93.deviantart.com/art/Valerie-FT-OC-1-353209499
I even made an Edo version of her

Conor and Olivia (Gajevy kids, they’re the older siblings of the canon Gajevy twins. Although they’re born years later when Conor and Olivia are much older. In my FT future they were a surprise aka they were not planned. BTW do they have names? I keep trying to look it up, but come up with nothing. The FT wiki literally has nothing about the light novel they debut in http://fairytail.wikia.com/wiki/Fairy_Tail_3:_Trouble_Twins
Actually they have barely anything about the light novels expect for like the first one.) http://purplekatz93.deviantart.com/art/GaLe-Kids-360992447

If you’re wondering why they look nothing like Jellal and Erza, it’s because they’re adopted.
20. If you were a wizard what kind of magic would you use?
Singing magic, like a Siren. I would sing and hypnotize people and when there out of it, attack them.
21. What is a magic item you would like to have?
A light pen http://fairytail.wikia.com/wiki/Light_Pen It be fun to draw/write in thin air.
22. Did you enjoy this questionnaire?
I sure did, seeing how I created it.
Oh and let me take this opportunity to talk about something else FT related.
I have the Todd Haberkorn (the Eng VA of Natsu 3 times at different cons)
Here’s proof http://purplekatz93.deviantart.com/art/I-TOLD-YOU-SO-463572927
And here’s some autographs he gave me I don’t have a picture of the third one up yet
