ok but can we talk about fairy tail's seven year time skip and the gaps that occurred in relations through that time?

like imagine you're erza and the guy you've known since you were a kid and you care so much about is responsible for so many horrible crimes but it wasn't really his fault, not really, but you discovered that too late. and you have hope that he'll go back to how he once was but now his memory is gone and he's gonna be in prison likely for the rest of his life but there's a chance. then you go to tenrou island and you think it's the end but when you wake up it's been 7 years and now you're still 19 years old and jellal is at least 26 and he's got his memory back and he's trying to make amends and he's so far away in life experience and relations with people and you feel you were left behind, he didn't even need you by his side to grow, to be good, and he won't really need you again

now imagine you're gray and you discover one of your oldest friends, like your brother, betrays you and the beliefs of the person you had in common but then the situation gets resolved and you can find peace between each other. but now lyon is seven years older than you and he's had longer time to advance his magic, ur's magic, and you know he's had to mourn both you and ur, and potentially looked at his magic and thought he was the last one from that little family of three from all those years ago. he doesn't know ultear, who has grown since the last time you saw her a few hours ago no wait, seven years ago, and she's also trying to make up for her many mistakes and she's more kind and gentle but you won't get to know her because she's already gone so soon after you returned

it's just so sad to think deeper about the consequences of seven years passing, lives continuing on without you and thinking about how everyone that loves you and you love thought you were dead and you don't know how to fix things or fit into this new time

Headcanons? Yeah lets talk headcanons

Natsu's attention is hard to hold onto in a convo sometimes. He can be easily distracted by any new sound or smell that he might notice and it just splits his attention between the conversation and the new thing. Anyone outside of the guild thinks he's being rude because of this but he just can't help it.

It's an absolute rarity to see Erza fight bare handed. Sure she trains often to keep her hand to hand combat skills sharp but she almost never foregoes a weapon in a fight.

Evergreen is a big lover of the arts and is probably one of Reedus' most frequent commissioners. Everyone thinks she just commissions self portraits (i mean she does, but its not all the time), but most of the stuff Reedus does for her is nature scenery.

If Gajeel zones out while eating, there's a good chance he'll start eating his utensils too.

Juvia scarcely goes anywhere without an umbrella regardless of the weather. She doesn't use it half the time but she spent so long carrying one over the years it feels odd to not have one on her person.

Droy never brings this up but he is like, one of the best plant wizards in fiore and has helped on several projects to revive and maintain ancient plant breeds. He just never says anything because its not that big of a deal to him.

Gildarts and Macao are really close friends and always hang out whenever Gildarts is in town. Gildarts and Wakaba however, not so much (they're ok with each other lmao. Not really close to dislike in any sense, just casual acquaintances who happen to share a best friend.)

Jellal still works with the council but as a sort of off the books consultant. He's still a wealth of knowledge and knows how to work through the confusion of politics so Mest with reach out from time to time to pick his brain on certain things.

Out of the 3 siblings, Lisanna has the most variety when it comes onto transformations. She has more animal takeovers than Elfman does beasts or Mira with demons and she is always swapping out and changing what takeovers she has so she has an air of unpredictability to her with an ever changing roster of animal takeovers.

fairy tail’s side characters (and by that i mean the guild’s characters that stayed even when team tenrou disappeared) always have a special place in my heart because yeah, they’re not the strongest, not the bravest or most important members, but they’re still there. because although they often get overlooked and tossed to the side, they don’t care as long as they can stay with their family.

Fairy Tail Headcanons

•Juvia, upon arriving at the guild, personally apologized to everyone for what happened during the war with Phantom and for all the harm it caused them.

•At first Macao didn't agree with Romeo studying from Totomaru, but then, thanks to Juvia and also a little to Natsu, he accepted it.

•Totomaru often invites Juvia to dinner and the few times and often she brings along a bored Gajeel.

•Juvia once asked Makarov for a special permission to help Totomaru in a special lesson at the academy to demonstrate what fire vs water would look like. He told her it was fine if she was happy to do it.

Gray on the other hand didn't agree but pretended not to.

•Juvia has the title of Phantom Queen, a title invented by Totomaru but also approved by José. This title was born after she destroyed in a mission with the Element Four, alone, the dark guild Dark Deer.

•Juvia, when she's angry, is able to cause thunder and lightning, but she does it without meaning to, it's a natural thing that also scares her.

In fact, Juvia is afraid of lightning and thunder and it is something known only by Gajeel and the Element Four.

•There are dark wizards who still fear Juvia.

•Juvia also has the titles of Goodess of the Ocean and StormBringer.
