Kaito was sitting by himself, more isolated than usual. He was a loner, but not unapproachable to the rest of the guild members of Fairy Tail. Just the mention of the S Class promotion exams, it made him feel a certain way, regret. The S Class trials he participated in, it was a disaster to say the least. He wasn’t sure who knew about what happened besides the people who were there, but things were better left unsaid.

“Oh hey, thanks Cana,” Kaito replied to her hug. Now he was more conscious of it with someone there, he controlled his magic a little more so she wouldn’t feel too cold around him. His Ice Dragon Slayer magic would subconsciously expel from his body, lowering the temperature around him, even freezing certain things if he didn’t keep his power in check properly.

“I really looked like I needed a hug, didn’t I?” he spoke in wonder.

"Oh, right," Lucas realised as he was invited into her home, so he took a seat on the couch as asked to. He took a look around, as if he was looking for some information.

"Thanks for inviting me in. Your parents are Gray and Kamui, right? Do you get along with your, cousins?" he asked her, curious.

The children of the ice dragon slayer twins Kaito and Kamui, were well known because of their parents from Fairy Tail, famous mages, especially after their involvement in the Alvarez War. It seemed he had a certain interest in Kaito's children.

"Yeah, sorry! That quest with Kazuto took longer than we thought haha," Sakurai replied, though it was mainly because they bumped into Natsu and Gray on their way back, and a fight somehow started.

"How are you and Sakura?" he asked about Ember and their daughter. Ember was the daughter of Natsu and Lucy, and they lived a happy carefree life after the whole fiasco involving the kingdom Sakurai came from, they somehow managed to prevent a potential all out war between mage continents.

I'll start with a blog bingo post for this blog then try to commit to things listed there! Kaito in his FT verse here is probably the most developed out of all my canon and OC muses, so I'd like to at least finish what I started haha.

“I understand, I will take that into consideration in future,” Kaito replied, it was the harsh truth that he had to hear, especially from someone outside the Fairy Tail guild. It was like his punishment for being so reckless, and naturally he didn’t want to burden the guild with his funeral too.

Kaito liked working alone, he preferred to too especially when it came to S Class quests, which be best done with an S Class mage leading a team instead. He was lucky he managed to solo so many quests on his own, usually with Shiro the Exceed's help, which he usually rationalised as being team enough.

“Is that the case? To be honest I’m not too surprised, since that last mage war and all. The next guild master’s meeting will certainly be more productive,” Shiro commented. He was under the impression that the guild masters just met up to catch up like a group of retired friends, but at least there would be some good out of it soon.

“…” Kaito was surprised at Aqua licking his toes clean, he just never been so vulnerable and exposed before, especially in front of strangers. Meanwhile Shiro was having the time of his life, especially with tummy rubs from Adelha, it was like all his time spent with the stubborn Kaito was paying off.

“Yeah, I have a couple of mages in mind, so I’ll ask the guild about it when we head back,” he replied to Adelha. He exchanged glances with Shiro, who gave him a nod, knowing who Kaito was referring to. The Ice Dragon Slayer was honestly ready to go, but he knew he had to be patient with the healing process, and wait until he could be officially discharged from the people taking such good care of him.

Shiro the Exceed though, wanted to drag out their stay out as long as possible. “I am curious though, how long exactly have you guys been around?” he asked them in general, hoping to prompt a long backstory or at least a long tale about their origins for an answer.

The apothecary simply hums a thoughtful tune as she reaches up to gently rub Shiro's ears. While Matvei keeps stitching Kaito's arm to not look surprised. "Is it any wonder that Fairy Tail mages are compared to stubborn oxen. Confidence is a good trait. But teamwork is a much more rational choice for long adventures and dangerous missions. It's obvious your family and guild wouldn't want to hold funeral rights. So for their sake and yours, stop being a stubborn ox."

Erlik has a smirk on his face to look at the ceiling and openly comment, "And there's the pot calling the kettle black. But really. You may end up getting benched if you don't take the team approach. There's a whisper going around that all the mage guilds will have to do certain B rank missions and up in teams. To avoid damages and deaths. There's even some saying it will be put to a community vote soon."

Aqua gives a mew of comment to then choose to hop down and move herself to the rim of the bathtub. Where the kitten perches to lick Kaito's toes clean. Which has the twins chuckle as Adelha gently plucks Shiro from the air to give him tummy rubs. "At the very least, I already sent formal letters to the guild masters to request they enforce teams that have one healer on every S rank mission. As well as a highly experienced combat expert. Two of them replied with the problem that they don't feel confident that their healers are experienced enough. Which means that someone will have to set up teaching lessons. Perhaps you might know of other qualified mages for such lessons?"
