Brave Fox and the Jake Black Gang, Part 4
Brave Fox picked herself up stiffly. The outlaw gang were getting away and there was nothing that she, warrior maiden of the Comanche, could do, it seemed, to prevent them. She felt sick with disappointment. At that moment however, there was a shout. The dazed young woman looked through blurred vision to see the unmistakable sight of Sheriff Will Patrick stride forward with a Winchester rifle clutched in his hand. The sheriff had always welcomed Brave Fox into Silver Creek and the Indian maiden knew him to be an honest and brave man. Sure enough he hailed Jake Black as the outlaw rode down Main Street. “You hold it right there, Black you skunk. You’re under arrest!” he called out, raising his rifle. Brave Fox watched in horror as the outlaw leader simply laughed through his mask, wheeled on his saddle and opened up with his six gun. “Eat lead, lawman!” the bad man snarled. Two bullets hit Sheriff Patrick in the chest, one entering his heart. Silently the would-be hero crumpled into the dust, his unfired rifle falling from his hands and blood spreading across his shirt.
Whooping in triumph like the former Confederate soldiers they were, Black and his gang hightailed it out of the town, leaving the dead sheriff in their wake. Brave Fox stood aghast looking after their dust cloud. Her eyes scanned Main Street, looking for help. It was virtually deserted. “Who will ride with me after these lawbreakers?” the Comanche brave cried out folornly.

The Deputy
“Since paleface assholes lie you began raiding the tribal lands for buffalo hides, my friend.” replied Little Owl grimly as she handcuffed the glowering badman behind his back tightly.

Firehair will make frequent appearances in this blog, being one of the strongest and most uncompromising heroines of the Golden Age. The character featured prominently in Rangers Comics and eventually got her own title, Firehair, Warrior-Maid of the Wild Dakotas, and her adventures ran from 1945 to 1952. Firehair was a red headed white woman, named Lynn Cabot, whose wealthy parents headed west from Philadelphia to deliver a shipment of arms to the western township of Plainsville. Ambushed by apparently hostile Native American warriors (who were in fact renegade white men in disguise - a common storyline in the title) and left for dead along with her murdered mother and father, the young Lynn is rescued by the benevolent Dakota Sioux who raise the girl as one of their own, naming her “Firehair” after her distinctive red locks. Initially unable to remember her former life, Firehair embraces the life of the Dakotas with enthusiasm, but refuses to accept the restrictions of being an “Indian squaw” and soon excels at horse riding, roping, archery and hunting, frequently putting the braves to shame. Eventually Firehair’s memory returns, but despite being an heiress to her family fortune, Lynn elects to remain with the Dakotas, rapidly becoming a confidant of their wise chief, Tehema, and best friend to the young brave and Tehema’s son, Little Axe.
Firehair’s adventures involve defending her people against Native American enemies and crooked and exploitative white men. Usually clad in a well-fitting belted green buckskin dress, Firehair is as sensual as she is brave, but, although secretly longing for love, finds it forever denied her. Strong-willed, intelligent but sometimes reckless, the western heroine is highly skilled in unarmed combat and, frequently aided by the Dakotas, brings numerous villains, renegades, traitors and outlaws to justice. In truth, Firehair is of a piece with the numerous and contemporaneous Golden Age jungle woman comic book characters. She is white, beautiful, from a wealthy background and intent of defending what she views as a noble life from encroaching white settlers. She can rightly be accused of being a paternalistic figure in respect of the Native American tribespeople she fights with and against, but the title is free of the racism that often permeates the jungle girl genre, with the Native characters rarely portrayed as savage caricatures. Also, to the squaws of her tribe, she is a feminist role model, puncturing male pretensions and demonstrating daily, that she is indeed a warrior-maiden and the equal of any man.
Firehair first appeared in Rangers Comics #21 (February 1945) and featured in every issue until #65 (May 1952). Her own title lasted eleven issues from Winter 1948 until Spring 1952. The Firehair stories were usually well-plotted, often with a moral, and were written by John Starr, and illustrated by Lee Elias and Bob Lubbers. The cover above, featuring Firehair in typical combative style intercepting and capturing two male Pony Express robbers, and aided by Little Axe, is from Firehair #11 (Spring 1952).
All Firehair’s adventures can be found on comicbookplus, either in the original titles or in a five volume archive.

Secret Weapon
Moonbeam had circled around the perimeter surrounding the ranch house., silently observing everything. The Kiowa warrior was convinced Silver Arrow was within that magnificent wood and brick structure, the prisoner of El Diablo, the rapacious landowner and part time outlaw gang leader, who had taken to kidnapping the young chieftain in order to force the Kiowa from their ancestral lands. Moonbeam, the best tracker in the village, had been sent by the tribal elders to locate their leader who had travelled in good faith to Diablo’s den in order to try to negotiate an agreement between his people and the greedy horde of owlhoots the rancher had gathered in order to pounce on the Kiowa. Moonbeam counted eleven well-armed guards. There would be many more desperadoes hidden within the complex. A frontal assault was out of the question, she knew, but a night attack by twenty of the most skilled braves would likely catch the gang unawares and allow them to free Sikver Arrow.
Moonbeam turned and made to hurry to her horse in order to ride like the wind back to the Kiowa lodges with this information. As the female brave began to move away from the ridge where she had spied out the ranch, there was a flash of blue in the corner of her eye. Too late, she saw the leering man grinning foolishly at her, six gun drawn. It was the twelfth man! Cursing herself, Moonbeam raised her arms. “You clearly want to meet El Diablo, senorita,” the man sneered, “now you shall!” The safety catch of his revolver clicked ominously as he motioned her forward. Suddenly there was a snarl behind them, half kitten, half mountain lion. The outlaw turned instinctively in the direction of the sound. As he did so a small tawny shape leapt through the air. It’s front paws landed squarely in the back of the gunman toppling him forward. As the man fell, Moonbeam put out a tanned and lithe leg and the man tripped head over heels landing in a crumpled and moaning heap on the rough ground, his gun spinning away from him and under some scrub. Moonbeam grinned broadly at the puma cub standing before her, looking extremely pleased with himself. “Thankyou Korat, my little friend!” she told the delighted animal.
Later, as Moonbeam gagged the glaring Mexican as he lay, furious, on the ground after she had first tied his hands and legs, the young woman gave her captive a slight smile. “Korat is my secret weapon, senor, worth at least two of your six guns.” The man turned his angry gaze to the purring feline, who growled back when he caught the man looking at him. “Come, Korat,” Moonbeam said briskly, standing up, “we must away. This cur has delayed us long enough!” Woman and pet hurried down the trail while the bound and gagged outlaw gazed after them helplessly.
My interpretation of the story behind this cover to Solvpilen #15 (April 1978).

Negative & racist depictions, tropes, and Stereotypes regarding Native Americans in Road to El Dorado.
Mayaincatec: The film homogenizes multiple Indigenous cultures cultures into one, specifically and mainly Maya and Nahua cultures, with the story being based on a mythical place set in Colombia.
Mighty Whitey: the basis of the film comes from the Spanish lie and myth that the Indigenous Aztec population worshipped them as gods, with the city of El Dorado doing the same with Miguel and Tulio, who use this to trick Native people to steal gold from them.
Oversexualized Native Woman: Chel’s character has overemphasis on her sex appeal and sexuality, with her character design being very revealing and exageratted on her chest, hips, and thighs. There is little to no exploration of her character outside of her sexuality and servitude towards the White characters. She does not pass the Aila Test and is a near opposite. Chel is a perfect example of how many Native female characters are sexualized
Evil Shaman: The Native religious leader Tzekel-Kan is demonized as evil & plays a heavier role as the main antagonist instead of the famed genocidal colonizer Hernan Cortez. Tzekel-Kan being enslaved by Cortez at the end is depicted as a “good ending”.
Demonized Spiritualiity: connected to the above, all scenes depicting traditional Mesoamerican spirituality/religion or practices are shown as evil, barbaric, savage, scary, and associated with the main antagonist.
White Saviors: El Dorado is saved by the main White protagonists, the idea to destroy the gates to the city is Tulio’s idea, the warriors of El Dorado are portrayed as helpless and no match for the Spanish conquistadors despite Indigenous Mexican warriors going toe to toe with them, and winning against them in various battles in real life.
Whitewashed Colonialism: Cortez, despite being one of the worst colonizers in history, serves as a minor, secondary antagonist & his evilness is only vaguely implied, and never explained why it (his actions) is bad. Cortez has the same goal as Miguel and Tulio (to steal gold from Indigenous people), but the protagonists aren’t shown as bad for doing it. Colonization is essentially excused (& is never explicitly named as harmful) as long as the colonizers are “nice” about it.
There’s likely some other stuff I’m missing but these are some of the big ones that are shown in this film, & its depictions of Indigenous Peoples are extremely harmful. I also don’t wanna see anybody trying to defend any of these with somehow implying “Well it’s not ACTUALLY racist or harmful because-” etc etc save it for a vague post and take our inability to see criticism of racism within a movie you like elsewhere.

Brave Fox and the Jake Black Gang, Part 14
As the kayoed Nate slowly came to, he found he had been securely bound by Brave Fox, and his face forced to lean forward into the buckskin material of the young woman’s belted knee-length dress while she stood either side of him and gagged him tightly. Charlie looked on in horror at this humiliation of his friend by the female warrior, but his angry protests just sounded like one anguished cry of “Mmmmmppppphhh!! as his threats and promises of revenge were muffled by the gag covering his mouth.
“You boys wait here and enjoy the evening air,” Brave Fox smiled, “I will be right back once I’ve discovered if your boss wants to come quietly, like.” The female brave’s prisoners looked on helplessly as Brave Fox left them, padding out of the forest grove on silent moccasined feet.
To be continued.

For people who haven't read Gaiman's books...yeah. Neverwhere has an obvious author self insert (something something boring whinging white male who women inexplicably find incredibly attractive) who finds a magical injured teenage girl (she's fourteen) and it's such uncomfortably realistic grooming that I didn't even notice it until I read it again as an adult. Just. Oh yeah they're in a relationship by the end lol.
Sidebar he writes a female warrior in this same book and is constantly describing her "delicious caramel skin" or whatever and describes her breasts in her DEATH SCENE. His writing is so utterly masturbatory that I feel secondhand embarrassment that anyone would want this sort of thing published.
In American Gods, he has an entire digression from the plot to detail how the main character's cheating whore wife died in a car accident bc she was giving her affair partner a blow job. The MC is all coolly detached and only slightly sad about the death the narrative implies she deserved. This is shown as some kind of "grace" on his part btw.
That's not the worst part! The worst part is definitely the sexually aggressive teenaged native american girl (oh, sorry, "20sish", since calling her "barely legal" would be too obvious) who keeps throwing herself all over the adult male protag (he's 32) for no reason. Ofc the epilogue implies the protag is stalking her and giving her flowers to pursue a relationship...how sweet. I could mention how basically every other female character is just fodder for sexual violence and shock value, but honestly, it's the background radiation of all of his work. A deep-seated, cynical amusement that women pretend to be anything more than sex toys and whores, which ofc the author espouses again and again is a woman's true nature. He is a liberal misogynist through and through.
This, of course, doesn't even touch upon the homophobia, but I've seen that discussed far more often than the truly vile misogyny openly on display whenever Gaiman picks up a pen.

I briefly talked about it with someone here and it made me think so much that I had to make a post about it - why don't misandrist men get as much hate as misandrist women ?
They are men who think men are horrible and say it. Yet they do not receive the same amount of hate as a feminist saying "I hate men".
There's an example that I find interesting and that I thought I'd share : some decades ago, a very famous leftist french singer, Renaud, made a song that quickly became very popular and loved. It's called "Miss Maggie" and it basically says that men are trash and that women are superior. The thing is, absolutely everyone praises him for it and loves that song. I guess there are some conservatives and incels who hate it, but the vast majority of the country, men and women, loves it ; people say Renaud is amazing and a genius for writing it and that the song is wonderful. Here is a link if you want to listen to it :
(He also criticizes Margaret Tatcher in that song but I won't talk about it in this post because it's not the point).
Here are some lyrics (with the english translation) just so you understand what I'm talking about :
Tumblr media
(Bourgeois women or whores
Who are often the very same
Normal women, stars or uglies
Females of all kinds, I love you
Even to the worst moron
I dedicate these few verses
Born of my disgust for men
And their warrior morality
Because no woman on the planet
Will ever be more stupid than her brother
Nor prouder nor more dishonest)
Tumblr media
(Woman I love you because
When sport becomes war
There are no chicks, or very few
In the hordes of fans
Crazy fanatics
Drunk on hate and beer
Defying the morons in blue
Insulting the bastards in green)
Tumblr media
(The atomic bomb
Didn't come from a female brain
And no woman has on her hands
The blood of Native Americans.
Palestinians and Armenians
Testify from their graves
That genocides are a male thing
Like SS, bullfighters
In this fucking humanity
Murderers are all brothers
Not a woman to compete)
Tumblr media
(Woman I love you, above all, at last
For your weakness and for your eyes
When a man's only strength
Is his gun or his cock
And when the last hour comes
Hell will be full of morons
Playing soccer or war
Playing who pisses the farthest)
Everyone loves that song and Renaud didn't receive any hate for writing it. Now imagine if a woman had written it? Just imagine the amount of hate a female singer would receive if she wrote a song like this. That could ruin her carreer and I am not exaggerating.
Renaud is also known for saying other misandrist things. I remember watching an interview with him, in which he's said that "Women are always there to heal wounds, repair damage, get things done... Unfortunately, there are still too few of them in important positions where they can participate in decision-making", "The oldest form of discrimination is discrimination against women. They are the first group we decided to hate and oppress", "Politicians and religions don't want to let women be more than virgins or whores. They don't want to let them be human beings, women, fulfilled people, with a personality, who work...", "It's not long since women have had the right to vote in France. And what's more, when I see women voting for a man, it gives me the same feeling as if I saw a crocodile going to a leather shop of its own free will...".
And in the comments, absolutely everyone was praising him, calling him a king, an angel and what not. No one to call him names or to tell him horrible things. No one to act as if he's said the craziest thing ever, no one to act as if he committed a crime. Sure some people disagree and insult women, but there is not a lot of hatred against him. Again, a woman would have received a lot of hate if she had said things like that. Just read what men have to say about Delphine Seyrig criticizing the patriarchy and the "indifference of men".
The point of that post isn’t to say that Renaud is The Feminist Ally, that he's perfect and one of the good guys or whatever. I just want to point out that a man criticizing men, saying he hates them, calling out their behaviour (and even saying women are superior!) will never receive the same amount of hate as a woman barely saying "I hate men" or ever way "nicer" things. Sounds like everyone knows why we hate men and even agrees with us deep inside, and just hate when women speak up about it. Sounds like they don't have a problem with misandry but with women 🤷🏽‍♀️

dethklok plays WoW
Nathan - main tank. Horde of course. Probably orc. His only toon. Absolutely a blood death knight both for aesthetic and because you know he's pulling top dps in addition to holding agg on everything in the room. Guild leader, does not take his title seriously but will still kick your ass if you bail on raid night. likes pvp but prefers pve
Pickles - plays mostly trolls, has 2 or 3 toons, probably also has an ugly forsaken and an ugly goblin (although goblin is a later race so depends on the year). Cat druid, often forced to spec into healing because mythic dungeons are only 5 man. But prefers to be cat or combat rogue. Incredible dps when he's allowed to do dps. not nurturing at all as a healer, WILL let you die if you piss him off (unless you're Nathan, but Nathan never dies). loves both pvp and pve but gets super steamed during pvp
Skwisgaar - paladin paladin paladin. Belf, of course. has secret female alts as well as secret ally alts. constantly adding his girlfriends to the guild and taking shit from the bank without asking. But he doesn't get in trouble because his dps is second to none - topping the charts even over Nathan. Ret pally, could technically heal with holy but his dps is just so insane that they can't afford to have him healing. pvp is beneath him
Toki - altaholic. Lots of female toons, lots of ally toons, gets bullied for both. Really wants to main a hunter so he can have a bunch of cute animal companions (and because it would be easier dps) but the others say that's gay so his main is a frost DK. the others make him spec into unholy because his crowd control brings clusters together so that Skwis and Nathan can wipe them out. So, so fucking angry that he never gets to do any actual dps because his plagues never get the chance to stack - and despite knowing it's a DOT issue the others clown on him for being the absolute bottom of the dps chart. pvp is too hard for him, no one protects him and everyone picks on him
Murderface - orc arms warrior and tauren fury warrior, dps but mostly off tank. makes cringe jokes (abt both native americans and milking) if tauren. One secret ally toon (human no less), also a warrior, that he uses to /walk around stormwind and RP badly. constantly brags about his dps but he's actually garbage, only above toki. makes a big deal out of his rank in the guild but he actually has no bank privileges. loves self harm through pvp
Charles - undead disc priest. a few alts, equal numbers male and female but almost all undead. probably a GM. heals when pickles is on dps and there's room or in a raid setting. guild treasurer, full bank permissions, has to constantly police the boys and spends thankless hours filling the bank back up with pots, food, etc. Also in charge of recruiting, so he should just be guild lead at this point but he dutifully never complains :) plays an affliction warlock and a couple rogues (combat and assassination) on a different server, when the boys give him one free fucking moment to do his own thing
Magnus - used to be a super powerful destro warlock that matched skwisgaar in dps. was super involved in the guild, help build it into what it was, contributed lots of materials, consumables, and money to the bank. Recruited some of their best players. after a horrific falling out (he was the asshole in the situation; controlling, etc) he was kicked from the guild and replaced. has since (due to wotlk) abandoned his warlock for a death knight. now he has a forever grudge and badmouths dethklok any chance he gets, but the majority of the server knows he's the drama so he has trouble finding others to play with. because of this he's been forced to switch over to alliance side. hence he falls in with...
MMA & the revengencers: MMA is yet another DK, probably blood, guild lead of the revengencers - rival guild to dethklok, constantly butting heads with them in pvp, ganking their low level members/alts, just generally being a nuisance. MMA wants revenge for Nathan (with the help of GM charles) getting his OG account banned
Edgar - human arcane mage main ("actually, the rotation is quite simple"). has lots of female alts. treasurer of the revengencers, takes everything way way way too seriously. Definitely works for blizzard or is a GM. very tense, sometimes outright hostile, relationship with Charles despite being essentially coworkers. "umm you sir have won the internet" "updoot" guy in chat. full collection of mounts, even the rare and/or limited edition ones

🦈 Strict but Caring: Just like her father, who used to be in the military, she is very strict when it comes to training. Making sure that the recruits are not just lacking or sitting around. She made sure they DO things. But she is very caring for her comrades. You can say it's called "Tough Love" (learned that from her parents).
🦈 Judgmental: Tiala had a habit of judging people at first glance. Of course, she doesn’t show it when meeting someone during work hours. But OUT of work? She’ll just give you that look. The look that says it all.
🦈 Stubborn: Tiala is usually a stubborn gal. She doesn’t usually ask for help. It was really concerning for others to see her working by herself very hard without any assistance. But if you’re a close friend with her. She’ll reconsider.
🦈 Reluctant: There are times that Tiala will hesitate when it comes to deal with people who has families. Should understand she has her OWN family back at home. So that will hold her back at times.
🦈 Bad Driving Skills: She doesn’t have a very BAD driving skills. She can drive nicely! BUT. When it comes to the situation that someone is rushing her or annoys her WHILE driving. She’ll just swerve the car a bit. As long as you let her focus on driving then everything will be alright. Just be silenced and enjoy the ride😊 (And she had a driver’s license)

🦈 Fighting Style: Hand-to-Hand Combat, Martial Arts and Boxing
🦈 Weapons: Mk 13 rifle, M4A1 and Benelli M4

Planning: She always has great plans to succeed in their missions. Even have a backup plan in case. If you need someone to plan ahead for any special occasions. Tiala is the woman you need.

She lives in a "Tropical Island". What do you expect?
Background Story: (WARNING: Might mention about Sexual Abuse and Kidnapping)
In American Samoa on November 19th, 1997. Tiala was born. And she was the youngest one in the family.
After two years of Tiala being born, her older brother (Hōne) had left to the Marine but he would always come back home to spend time with his family.
When Tiala turned 16-years-old, it was her birthday. She had received very sad news from Kanoa. Kanoa came back from the Marines to tell them the news that Hōne had sadly passed away from the mission that he was sent to. Which really upset Tiala. She could feel her heart was crying out for her dearly older brother. For he had promised that he’ll come back home on her special day. So she hadn’t celebrated her birthday much since then.
During her Sophomore Year in High School, she was still 16. Tiala had a crush on a boy who was part of the football team. And she was trying to ask him out before their Christmas break. And to her excitement, he accepted. She had thought that she had found love in her life. But little did she know that her happy love life would turn out dark.
After the summer break, Tiala is a Junior in High School. Her boyfriend has been acting pretty touchy lately. NOT in a good way though. More like touching the part that she doesn’t want him to touch. Which made him upset. And she doesn’t want him to be upset. So she let him have his fun.
Until the year of her being a Senior, her boyfriend had been getting a bit more possessive than being lovely. And it worried her that she needed to talk with her family. But that’s when he pulls the threats on her if she EVER tells anyone about this. She hesitated and didn’t tell anyone. Except that her little brother, named Hemi, saw what her boyfriend was doing in the back of the school. Hemi was being sent by their parents to check on Tiala that they’re there to pick her up. He was going to tell their parents but Tiala begged him not to. So he just gave in and didn’t tell their parents.
And on the night of the Senior Prom. The school let the Senior students bring some of their family members to join in this special occasion. So Tiala happily invited her parents and some of her brothers. Which is only Rangi, Kanoa and Hemi. The night was going so well until Tiala’s boyfriend wanted to take her away from the party so they could have their “FUN” which she doesn’t want to. And that’s when he started to get very pushy at it. Which caught Hemi’s attention to see his older sister being pulled away. So calling the two older brothers. Kanoa and Rangi quickly came in and took Tiala back before warning the boyfriend to stay away. Soon the whole crowd’s attention was on them as the boyfriend was getting pissed off. Starting to yell at Tiala and blaming her for being such a boring kind of partner. And that’s when he confessed that he cheated on her with another girl. Which fueled Kanoa’s anger but instead of HIM beating the boyfriend up. Everyone was surprised to see Hemi ran in and tackled him down. Beating him up instead. One of the teachers pulled the two boys away and ended the party.
(Everyone was alright. Just Hemi’s knuckles were being bruised up and he was 11-years-old! Can you believe that?)
After graduation, Tiala had started to plan on joining the Marine Corps with her two brothers. To honor for Hōne. So they started packing and the two older boys took her to Hawaii. Where the camping of the Marine soldiers will be at. She had worked long and hard to finish her test and training. Which was worth it for she had passed all of it. And the two older brothers were very proud. She was 17-years-old when she joined.
So Tiala had taken the position as Staff Sergeant after serving for 4 years and she had made quite a few friends. But her two main friends who she had met are Staff Sergeant Ela Anand and Master Sergeant Herman Black. The two had always made her feel so welcoming ever since she joined in. And the three had been picked by an unnamed Colonel who needed soldiers to help assist to stop the human trafficking. And he did warn them about how dangerous this could be. The three friends were excited for this mission but Tiala’s older brother, Rangi, disapproved of this. He had his concerns for her as this was her FIRST mission and were afraid that something bad might happen. Kanoa had reassured Rangi that she’ll be fine. He will go with her to keep her safe. Tiala agreed with this term even the Colonel agreed as well.
They have traveled to Baja California. The borderline of part Mexico. The team had gotten an intel about Human Trafficking in that area. They have believed that the Drug Cartel is making deals with the other Trafficker who was doing Human Trafficking. So they have to act fast to stop them. The Colonel had already made orders to separate two different teams. Which Tiala is going with Ela and Herman and the others. But Kanoa cannot go as he is going with the Colonel and the other teams. Tiala had reassured her older brother that she’ll be fine since she’s going with her two friends. The two different teams had already split up as they went to look for the Cartel. But Tiala and her team have been ambushed and kidnapped by them. This was in May 2017.
3 months later. Tiala and her two friends are the only ones who are still alive. They don’t know what these cartel people do to their other team members but they have to stay strong and hope that the other marines will come to their rescue. But after a few weeks, Tiala had seen Herman had been dragged out of his cell first and was being pushed by the men. She doesn’t know what they’ll do to him. But her question has been answered by the sound of guns shooting and some people screaming. Her eyes widened at this and felt Ela hugging her and trying to comfort her. They need to get out of here and FAST.
At the very last week of the month, Ela had already had a plan to escape. And Tiala agreed to go through it. The two had already escaped from their cell and put down most of the enemies who were blocking them. And all they have to do is to go over the wall. Ela wanted Tiala to go first and was about to boost her up before being shot. Tiala was devastated and shocked as she saw her only friend had died in her own blood. She was taken back and was dealing with her PUNISHMENT. Which you will know of how she got her burnt scar on her tattoos. And already losing her virginity.
2 months later, Tiala was slowly losing her emotions and her insanity as she kept working for those bastards. As they were having their fun. And today was her last day to be living in this cruel world. FINALLY. Before they could even take her, there was a sudden shooting in the area. And even BIG explosions. Who could it be?
It was the Marines. And her brother Kanoa was the one who was leading and had found her. So he took Tiala quickly to the medical area back to the base. October 2017.
Tiala was released from the Marines just to let her rest and hopefully recovered both mentally and physically. She wasn’t the same from then. She didn’t want any of her brothers or her father to come near her. Even though they are her family she couldn’t get the images about those MEN out of her head. Every time they come near. She’ll scream or flinched when they are present. Which really hurts their hearts.
It’s been 2 months that Tiala has to recover and still didn’t let any of her brothers or her father come near. Until, Kanoa had an idea. While Tiala was just resting on her bed, looking through the window. She suddenly hears someone singing outside of her room. So curiously, she slowly walked out of her room and into the living room before seeing Kanoa was playing the guitar while singing their favorite church song. Called “A Pei Se Vaitafe” (Like a River). And she slowly walked over to Kanoa as memories flowed through her mind of how Hōne used to sing that song to her. And sat down next to him as she softly sang along with him. Her whole family slowly peeked in to see this and was very touched to see Tiala had finally come out to her family.
Before the Summer starts, in the year of 2018. Tiala had come back all fresh and new. For she wanted to continue to serve for her lost friends and brother. And then she heard that Kanoa was making a Task Force. She was also being asked by the General, named Alana and the one who was helping Kanoa to form a team for his Task Force, if she wanted to join. So she didn’t hesitate to take it and was placed in to be Kanoa’s Second-in-Command. That’s when she met the other two new members of the team. Sergeant Agnes “Blast” Falagi and Dr. Aelan Kalani. The two soldiers who were the one who helped Kanoa to save her. And she had given her thanks and accepted them into their new team.

Bare thoughts
The bear is a prominent symbol in various world mythologies, representing a range of attributes such as strength, courage, introspection and contentment. Its significance as a symbol can be seen in diverse cultures, often embodying the qualities of a protector or a fierce warrior, as well as a figure of wisdom and healing and as demonstrated by the physical remains of the Paleolithic Era where it was during that time a female diety.
Within Native American Mythology the bear is revered as a powerful spirit animal. The bear is often associated with strength and courage, symbolizing the warrior spirit. For instance, the Lakota people view the bear as a protector and a symbol of healing. The bear is also central in the mythology of the bear cult, where it is believed that the bear embodies the spirit of the forest and its healing properties. The Bear Dance, performed by various tribes, celebrates this animal’s strength and connection to the earth.
In Celtic mythology, the bear is often associated with the goddess Artio, who represents abundance and fertility. Bears were also seen as symbols of the wilderness and were revered as protectors of the forest. In some legends, the bear is depicted as a shape-shifter, reflecting themes of transformation and the duality of nature. The Celtic word for bear, "art," is also the root of the word "Arthur," linking the animal to the legendary King Arthur, who embodies noble qualities akin to those of a bear.
In Norse mythology, the bear is linked to the god Odin. The Berserkers, fierce warriors who wore bear skins and are thought to have channeled the bear's ferocity in battle. The term "berserk" itself is derived from this practice, symbolizing the transformation into a bear-like state of rage and strength. The bear is also seen as a totem of protection and bravery, often associated with the idea of the warrior hero.
In Japan, bears are seen as divine creatures. The Ainu people, indigenous to Hokkaido, have a deep reverence for the bear, considering it a sacred animal that embodies both strength and the spirit of the mountains. The bear is celebrated during the 'Iyomante ceremony', where it is honored as a deity before its spirit is believed to return to the mountain in its female aspect.
In Greek mythology, the bear is associated with the constellation Ursa Major (Great Bear) and Ursa Minor (Little Bear). The myth of Callisto, a nymph who was transformed into a bear, illustrates themes of transformation and the relationship between humans and nature. This transformation is often interpreted as a punishment or a protective measure by the gods, highlighting the dual nature of the bear as both a nurturing and fearsome presence.
My final example is the closest to consciousness, that being Siberian shamanism where bears are considered the "master of animals" and possess great wisdom. Shamans often invoke the spirit of the bear for strength and healing. The bear is seen as a bridge between the physical world and the spirit realm, embodying the qualities of introspection and power.
So across various cultures, the bear emerges as a connecting symbol within the human psyche representing strength, courage, a deep connection to nature, and the power of transformation. Whether as a protector, a warrior, or a figure of transformation, the bear resonates with human experiences and the emotions of fear and awe, embodying both the fierce and nurturing aspects of life. These diverse interpretations highlight the bear's enduring significance in worldwide mythology, reflecting humanity's complex relationship with the powerful transformative powers of the natural world which reside just outside our rational powers in what the psychologists call the unconscious.

Brave Fox and the Jake Black Gang, Part 18
Less than half an hour later, Brave Fox, once again astride her faithful Moonflower, had Charlie, Zeke and Nate on their feet, but with their hands and arms still bound and gags in place. The humiliated but depressed and unresisting outlaws miserably accepted their fate as the young Dakota warrior slipped nooses of rope around their necks, tethering them to each other, and Charlie who was tied to Moonflower’s saddle horn. The grimly triumphant warrior woman, Winchester in hand and the sacks of plundered loot from the Silver Creek Great Western bank strapped to her steed behind her, urged her reluctant cavalcade of prisoners forward. “Get going, boys!” she ordered.
In front of her trotted the wounded, broken and naked figure of Jake Black - a shadow of the desperado who had terrorised the town and murdered its sheriff. Hands bound behind him, and tied to Moonflower’s bridle, the defeated former Confederate guerrilla sobbed quietly to himself, scarcely able to believe his mighty gang of veterans had been brought low by a single squaw.
To be continued.
