National Spicy Guacamole Day
Grab a chip and prepare for some heat: National Spicy Guacamole Day is on November 14. No longer solely the choice of Super Bowls and burritos, spicy guac has been making big moves through the culinary scene! From party dips to burgers and everything in-between, there’s always a reason for spicy guac. So pick some avocados and get mashing!
History of National Spicy Guacamole Day
On National Guacamole Day, sure, we celebrate the great green goo that is good guac. But on National Spicy Guacamole Day, we’re here specifically for the extra kick that goes with adding chile peppers to that same green stuff. Because if you’ve ever tried chugging water after accidentally biting into a serrano or a jalapeño, you know there’s no rush that comes nearly as close to that feeling that your tongue is going to burn off.
Various global civilizations have been upping the ante in regards to the kick that comes from spicy peppers for centuries. Chile peppers are native to the Middle Americas and Mexico, all the way to the middle of South America and have been a staple in Aztec, Mayan, and Andean cuisine for centuries before the Europeans came and shipped those peppers worldwide. Likewise, in Asia, the Sichuan pepper, which actually creates a numbing sensation rather than a spicy one, has been an integral part of Sichuan cooking for even longer.
By contrast, guacamole, as we know it today, could not have even been possible until at least the 1490s after Columbus made his second journey to the Americas, dropping off Asian spices such as cumin and the Persian lime in the land of avocados. In fact, the dish actually developed out of an Aztec staple that translates to avocado sauce. It was pretty much just mashed avocados and salt. Over time, the dish spread throughout the Americas, and even to Europe, and variations on avocado sauces with add-ins (some of them spicy) eventually led to the classic guac as we know it today.
National Spicy Guacamole Day falls during prime football season, where the stuff is consumed by the pounds on tortilla-chip vessels as a critical game-time snack.
National Spicy Guacamole Day timeline
750 B.C.
Avocado Trees Appear in the Americas
Archaeologists have traced the avocado plant to 750 B.C. in what would later become Mexico and South America, laying the foundations for the dish.
16th century
Guacamole is First Recorded
Spicy guacamole is first recorded as “āhuacamolli” upon the Spanish arrival to the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan.
1993
Chipotle Opens
The popular chain (and its legendary guac) opens a small restaurant in Denver, CO, to complement the area’s growing burrito fascination.
1994
NAFTA
The U.S., Canada, and Mexico enter into the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994, prompting the U.S. to quickly lift restrictions on avocado imports.
National Spicy Guacamole Day FAQs
Where are the best peppers to use to make spicy guacamole?
Jalapeño is the most popular, and most accessible, pepper option. Serrano peppers are a little bit smaller and pack an even mightier punch for those that like to walk on the wild side. Regardless, don’t touch your eyes when you’re cutting!
Why does spicy guac cost extra?
There’s no doubt that guac and spicy guac cost a bit more than, say, salsa or queso at your favorite cantina. Although, occasionally, an avocado shortage is to blame, this is typically because of the amount of water needed to grow avocados, along with transportation costs and the labor involved in creating guac, from start to finish.
What’s the difference between National Guacamole Day and National Spicy Guacamole Day?
National Spicy Guac Day celebrates the classic kick that jalapeños, serranos, or another spicy pepper adds to the popular dip, wherease National Guacomole Day celebrates the dip in in all its glorious forms.
HOW TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL SPICY GUACAMOLE DAY
Make your own spicy guacamole: Sure, it’s easier to grab guac from your neighborhood Chipotle, but rather than doing that, grab a couple of avocados, some spicy peppers, and try out the old mortar and pestle. For added effect, throw on some salsa music and have a solo dance party to celebrate your delicious dip.
Throw a spicy guacamole guac-off: Grab your friends, a few pounds of avocados and serranos, and hit the kitchen! Making guacamole is fine and dandy, and sharing it is even better. But a friendly competition to see who really has the lowdown on the best kickin’ guac recipe? That takes the mole!
Host a spicy guac in the face: Put your throwing arm to the test with this spin on the classic pie in the face. Instead of sugar and whipped cream, indulge in a faceful of spicy, salty, zesty guac! What better way to sample dips from the guac-off than by seeing who can take a fistful of the green stuff in the face.
WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL SPICY GUACAMOLE DAY
Avocados are grown all over the world: If you’re familiar with the ‘Avocados from Mexico’ jingle, you know Mexico is one of the fruit’s most viable producers. However, avocados can also be found growing in California, Peru, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Spicy guacamole can be healthy: If you’re unsure of guacamole because of the high concentrations of fat in avocados, fear not. Avocados are an excellent source of monounsaturated fat (the good kind!) and they’re also rich in vitamins C, E, and K. Bonus, the peppers that make spicy guac, well, spicy, are rich in vitamins A and C, as well as potassium and antioxidants. Dip up!
Spicy guac goes well with anything: You don’t need a tortilla chip to enjoy spicy guacamole. Grab some carrots, cucumber, or even a whole crudité platter to dip in the stuff, or, better yet, throw it on a burger for a zesty, south-of-the-border spin.

Hi sweetie. Can you tell us more, like random facts, about Vasi? 🥰
Her height, her favourite place, music, hobbies.... 👉🏻👈🏻
Of course! ☺️☺️
* Vasilisa is about 5’5 ft tall!
* I haven’t figured out her weight yet but her body type she has an Average hourglass thick tone. She has hip dips and a small round belly (so think of Nani (Lilo and Stich), American singer Tyla, and Twyla (monster high).
*Has a lot of beauty marks.
* since her race is elf/vampire her nationality is Afro-latina! But to simplify it she’s Afro-Brazilian (like myself 😌)
* She has a nose ring, belly piercing and others.
* She has a small fairy wing in one of the back of her ears.
* Her voice VA is a mix between Spectra vondergeist (Monster High) and Chihiro Fujisaki (Danganronpa)
* She has a kind, understanding, outgoing, shy, quiet personality. She RARELY ever gets mad but when she does.. she can be pretty scary.
* Her best friends are Amber Orlock, Gytha Demona, Nerys Blyssen ( which they are in the working process 😅)
* She occasionally plays the Quest of Yore with Barely and goes on Quests with him. That is of course dressing up as well! 😂
*She sometimes floats like Marceline (adventure, Time) and Spectra (monster high)
* She loves to go on day and night strolls. In the daytime for favorite places are the park, the Manticore! Tavern, and the Labyrinth mall. In the night time she likes to go on her land to look at the stars and of course ride along with Barley 😁.
* She likes poetry, drawing landscapes, spells and mythical creatures, fajitas, and rice pudding.
* Her Dislikes though are dishonest and cruel people, being taken advantage of, being an out cast, bullies, colt Branco (at times), spiders.
* She listens to a lot of variety of music. But her absolute favorites are 2000s rock, rock folklore ( like Barely lmaoo 😭) j-pop and k-pop!
* Her favorite movies are Twilight, all Saw movies, Harry Potter, Let Me In (2010), Kill Bil volume 1 and 2, and the grudge.
* She makes jewelry as a hobby.
* She wears a lot of her mother’s jewelry and clothes to always have her by her side.
* Can speak MANY different languages ( including sign language)
* Wears a bunch of goth clothes ( so like corsets and a bunch of medieval dresses) and other wears!
* She’s a Mage and does a lot of magic such as healing, reading people’s minds, and Telekinesis.
* One of her strengths are Shapeshifting, healing, using any form of magic. But her downsides are that she has to drink and eat more than a normal being can do. She can also get sick easily.
* Whenever she’s available she’ll help Ian with some magic stuff and teach him different spells and potions and honestly how to maintain it better!
* Now since she’s half elf and vampire blood doesn’t have an effect on her only because she took majority of her mother’s side. But every once in awhile she does get the cravings often. So she drinks pigs blood and makes it into boba 🧋 (I’m assuming there’s such thing as pigs in the universe 😭)
*Since she has a lot of her mother’s traits she will have longer ears and eyebrows when she gets older.
* She owns a Phoenix as a pet (I name her Fawkes after professor Dumbledores from Harry Potter 😁😁)
* She Keeps a lot of charms and crystals in her room from Barley
* Loves to cook and bake!
* She reads a spell book that her mother left for her.
* Knows how to figure Skate and do ballet and Plays the violin and the piano (so I guess you can say she was very active)
I think that’s pretty much all of it! I hope you enjoy! ☺️

National Fajita Day
In the early 1930s, Mexican vaqueros in Southwest Texas developed what we’ve grown to love all over the United States. Using throwaway cuts of beef, they developed the #fajita. However, it wasn’t long before they became a staple in the region. These cowboys cooked the steak over an open fire or grill. Once cooked, they served it with flour or corn tortillas. In later years, fresh Pico de gallo, guacamole, and southwestern spices elevated the fajita. Soon the convenient meal for hardworking cowboys made an introduction to new audiences. The fajita became a destination food in the culinary world.

National Fajita Day
Get some steak sizzling over an open flame because August 18 is National Fajita Day. It’s a day to celebrate the authentic taste of the Southwest with the fiesta of flavor known as the fajita. Throw in some awesome black beans or even add a little hot sauce, guacamole, sour cream, or cheese. The combinations are endless. It’s National Fajita Day so you know what you’ve got to do (eat fajitas, obviously).
History of National Fajita Day
A true manifesto of what Tex-Mex culture is, the fajita has taken the culinary world by storm but it all started from some very humble beginnings.
The concept of fajitas began to make the rounds in the early 1930s when Mexican vaqueros in Texas developed the fajita from throwaway cuts of beef – part of their payment for their job. Because of this, said workers learned to use the tough cuts the best they could, especially the flavorsome skirt steak. They cooked the steak over an open fire or grill and were typically served with flour or corn tortillas, pico de gallo, guacamole, and southwestern spices. Soon the cheap, efficient meal meant as a quick fix for workers was becoming a staple in the area, finding its way into new mouths and bellies.
As such, there are numerous different joints that were around at the time that claim to be the launchpad for the fajita. It’s not surprising, everyone wants to be part of a success story. It was in the late 1960s that Sonny Falcon started selling fajitas. He sold so many that he was eventually christened “The Fajita King” as recognition for his role in introducing fajitas to the general public.
Other big moments in fajita history include the restaurant Ninfa’s creating their own version of fajitas in 1973, and Austin’s La Vista restaurant putting “sizzling fajitas” on the menu in 1982. National Fajita Day itself was coined by the restaurant chain On the Border to celebrate the show-stopping dish. If all of this hasn’t got you watering at the mouth then we don’t know what will.

Why Valentine's Day Is a Great Day to Cater Lunch for the Team
There’s nothing quite like breaking up the workday with a delicious catered lunch from a top local caterer. It gives the team something to look forward to, it can boost morale, and just contributes to positive vibes in the office.
Why not show your team a little love with lunch catering this Valentine's Day? This year, Valentine’s Day lands on Wednesday, right in the middle of the workweek. It’s the perfect day to order up some exceptional catering to celebrate the team. Why Valentine’s Day? Sure, it’s the day of love, and many couples are sure to be gifting chocolates and roses, but it’s also a great day to show your team—or the whole company—how much they’re appreciated. Plus, who doesn’t love a catered lunch? Here are a few reasons to order your team’s favorites this Valentine’s Day. Appreciation Goes a Long Way While you don’t need a specific day or date to show your team appreciation, Valentine’s Day can serve as a reminder to put the thought of appreciation into something tangible, like a catered lunch. When team members feel appreciated and see the evidence of this appreciation, it can foster a more positive work environment. That isn’t to say your organization is lacking in positivity and morale, but you can never have too much of this kind of thing. The feeling of appreciation can translate to increased job satisfaction and higher retention rates. When your team is happy, it can also influence outside perception of your business. Beat the Midweek Doldrums Come Wednesday, your team might be starting to feel the midweek doldrums. It’s that feeling you get when you want to take a nap, but there’s still plenty of work to take care of! This Valentine’s Day, why not spice up Wednesday with Mexican catering? Mexican catering might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Valentine’s Day, but it’s a great option for beating those midweek doldrums. Mexican cuisine is loaded with flavor. From savory dishes to that hit of spice, there’s something for everyone. Whether you decide to order a full taco bar, a fajita buffet, or individual burritos, you can get delicacies sure to invigorate the team. With their Wednesday energy riding high, it can set them up for success through the rest of the week. Bring People Together for a Little Team Building Why not take advantage of the holiday—and the lunch catering—for a little team building? Catering already lends itself to team-building as it naturally brings everyone together in one space. With Valentine’s Day on people’s minds, your team may be a little restless—holidays tend to do that. They may have their minds set on an evening with their significant other, or they might have special reservations for the night. At the workplace, you can order catering and encourage office mingling. It can serve as another opportunity for different teams to spend the lunch hour together. These kinds of events, even if they last only an hour, can foster stronger professional bonds between team members and departments—which can lead to a stronger company.
