So I just realized something about anbu and kishimotos blatant idiocy.

So... ANBU are supposed to be anonymous right??

And the tattoo or seal on their arm is supposed to unique identification of someone being in ANBU. And konoha ANBU have a fire sign seal on their arm to indicate their identity which makes it highly likely that this branding seal of fire is unique to konoha anbu because of konoha being in land of fire and thus all the other villages and their anbu will have seals (if any) based on their village.

Like Kumo having a cloud as anbu symbol and suna having sand symbol etc. Something unique if u get my point.

Now, anbu are supposed to be anonymous like if u want to assassinate someone without it getting traced back to u, u use the anbu. Basically anbu being the boogeyman or CIA of shinobis.

Now here comes the idiotic part:

If anbu are supposed to be anonymous then why do they show their unique fire like symbols on their arms to let every shinobi they meet put two and two together?

Look here kakashi and every anbus symbol is visible to the whole wide world to know they are fire anbu and thus they have the potential to start a new shitshow given such a volatile world.

And every anbus uniform is like that.

So the purpose for which anbu is made is fucking useless if they are not hiding.

And I know y'all are going to say oh they could hide it or use jutsu to hide it but they don't actually do it in any episode where anbu is given some screen time except when they are changing their looks as a whole or pretending to be someone else.

So anbu are useless and I am mad once again at kishimoyos stupidity.

I'm not exactly sure how I want to phrase this yet, but I think a lot of the utterly weird takes I see sometimes float by me on our cursed blue hellsite (esp when it comes to mdzscql fandom) is coming from a refusal to meet the genre where it's at.

Like, why are we trying to interrogate classism in MDZS society, MDZS is a romance, the societal worldbuilding is just enough to support some general big ideas and the provide context for the romance. We can't get ANY kind of read on general classim/sexism/anything else from. this source material. if you think you can get granular when your sample size of characters from various social and gender strata are so small and we don't know how the vast majority of people in here live you are making stuff up.

Like, meet the story where it's at: it's a romance novel.

I'm kinda curious about the period of time when Minato was Hokage, because there's so much you could say about Konoha depending on it. It could be that I don't remember what the manga says about it too, but anyway.

We know that before Minato was Hokage, the discrimination towards jinchuurikis was high. We know it from Kushina's story. After Minato, the jinchuurikis discrimination was not exactly as bad as it could have been (and the bar is soooo low) in physical terms, but the level of sheer isolation was ridiculous. Sure, Kushina had guards and she lived in a tower with a perimeter drawn around it, one that she couldn't surpass. The difference is that Kushina knew why she was being isolated, there was someone willing to teach her about it right from the start, a family member even if distant, someone with the same experience.

All Naruto knew is that he was unwanted. He had no family, no one was willing to guide him. No, not even Iruka. I'm talking about before in the manga, before Iruka realized how much Naruto needed him and did something about it.

If that was before and after, how was it during the time Minato was Hokage?

Did Minato push for Kushina to become Hokage? Was the idea rejected? Did he get angry? It was her dream after all. Or did they realize it would be impossible so they pushed Minato to go for it? Were they sad about the idea of Kushina having to live her dream through Minato, because they wouldn't let her go for it? When did Kushina give up and change her goal in life?

Did Minato tell anyone about his plan on how to get rid of the jinchuuriki discrimination? Did he talk about it with Kushina? We know that they planned Naruto's birth and tried to make it as safe as possible. When the time to seal Kurama within Naruto came, they both knew how Konoha would treat Naruto. Minato wanted Naruto to be viewed as the son of a hero, but his wishes were thrown aside as soon as his body was cold enough.

With no law to protect the jinchuuriki of the kyubi, I wonder how bold the people of Konoha were in their discrimination against Kushina while Minato was Hokage. Times were different, Minato was highly respected and feared, but how many times did he have to tell someone to mind their words? How many times did he catch Kushina avoiding a certain restaurant or a street? Did he ever feel a slight of resentment against his home for the way they treated his wife? His pregnant wife?

Were there rumors of the child being a monster for being the son of a jinchuuriki? It could be that some Konoha parents telling their kids to not play with the little Uzumaki/Namikaze was a thing before Naruto was even born?

From what I've seen, Konoha has no gentleness for kids of prestigious lineages. Being a child of a powerful shinobi makes your life worse, in fact. A million times over: it happened to Sasuke, to Neji, it happened to Kakashi in the generation before them, it happened to Itachi in the in-between.

I don't think that being the son of the hokage would have saved Naruto for being mistreated by the village. Not when his mother was a jinchuuriki.

It just makes me wonder, you know?

In the time he had, how did Minato try to change things to protect his family?

Was it a matter of needing more time? Or there wasn't a plan at all?

The naruto fans who always complain about how oh so baaad it is haven't seen ACTUAL bad shows. Naruto is great, especially in comparison. Absolute masterclass in worldbuilding.

Plot holes???

Actually boruto has a lot of plot holes, not something necessarily bad but a lot of it is left to readers imagination.

For example, don’t you think is strange that Naruto adopted Kawaki out of nowhere, like literally even if he was reminded of his young self he decided to adopt him when the Uchiha kids experiments where in the same situation, the question is why did he adopt him?

I have thought that maybe for a way to supervise him and make him feel comfortable while also protect him from Kara, still there’s a tint of guilt when Naruto is with Kawaki and that’s the strange part for me, at how quick without knowing a lot decided that Kawaki was part of the family.

Another plot hole to me is Sarada’s birth. I think there’s something else in there that what Gaiden offered to us, and it should leave questions just the fact that a pregnant Sakura was with Karin chasing after Sasuke, that is a bit strange but maybe Sakura wanted to tell Sasuke about their child? So ok, that can be, the thing that questions this is that her birth was maintain as a secret, like why!!! Not even Suigetsu knew that Sakura gave birth to Sarada in their hideout and while explaining this to him Karin looked a bit nervous so it is indeed really questionable.

This question is something that many might have thought, why Orochimaru was forgiven in a way, eve if they helped with the wounded they should have been punished for all their past crimes, what is worse Orochimaru continued doing experiments and everyone knew this. There’s also a possibility that Naruto and the others helped them in their research too, but those are only speculations since Naruto was shocked about what Orochimaru was doing.

I finished the special story in Connections and it got me to bawl my eyes out so bad. That story was so much more meaningful and emotional and impactful than the entirety of Naruto itself. What the fuck do you mean it was written by Kishimoto????? He did NOT write something for a side story in one of the ultimate ninja storm games and make it better than anything he's ever done before. There's just no fucking way.

Because I try to get as nitpicky and immersed with my research as possible for each chapter, I’ve got a little bone to pick with this panel.

In context, Kankuro is throwing shade to Lee, saying how he has no chance against Gaara, while Naruto is telling him that Lee is not to be underestimated. I really like the premise of this conversation, and Lee is a good bean and a hard worker and deserves to be acknowledged. However... 

Naruto never saw Sasuke being beaten by Rock Lee.

Before Sasuke and Lee even began fighting, Naruto was upset that everyone was ignoring his presence and focusing on Sasuke, so he rushed at Lee first to fight. Lee, of course, knocked Naruto into the wall in a KO right away. 

Naruto was unconscious for the entire fight.

As we see in this other panel, Naruto only wakes up after Lee’s interrupted Lotus and Sakura catches Sasuke before he hits the ground. Naruto is dazed and confused. He clearly knows that Sasuke was beaten, but he didn’t see any of the actual fighting. He didn’t see Lee kick Sasuke up into the air like he recalled when speaking to Kankuro. 

Here was Naruto’s attempt to fight Lee. 

Here was him knocked out.

Naruto only starts to wake up after Lee’s kick and Sasuke is already in the air. Naruto is dazed and confused, but he definitely did not see Lee kicking Sasuke up into the air. Moreover, Sasuke’s pride was wounded, so he definitely wouldn’t tell Naruto that detail later on (plus, they headed directly to the written exam and didn’t have time to chat) and Sakura certainly wasn’t going to explain how Sasuke lost and risk Sasuke being angry at her. 

An easy rewrite for Naruto’s conversation with Kankuro about Lee is either to:

1) Rewrite Naruto to regain consciousness moments sooner, to witness the kick himself

or

2) Rewrite Naruto’s recollection of the Sasuke versus Lee fight, having him only remembering waking up and seeing Sasuke in the air, then being caught by Sakura.

Special shoutout to Naruto being a complete idiot 90% of the time but having insanely good battle smarts. I mean, this guy saw Sasuke’s “Lion’s Barrage” only one time and was able to create the “Uzumaki Naruto Barrage” and use it effectively against Kiba in their preliminary fight. Sasuke, meanwhile, was only able to copy Lee’s taijutsu after witnessing it once with his Sharingan.

Naruto- without Dojutsu- literally copied a taijutsu combo that he only saw Sasuke do once, which Sasuke was only able to do with the Sharingan.

Impressive. Most impressive.

So, in Naruto there is the Indra and Ashura reincarnation cycle where both of the reincarnations have to die before they can reincarnate.

When our main cast are born Konohagakure has existed for 50 years and when the series start it has existed for 60 years.

Naruto and Sasuke are the reincarnations. Madara and Hashirama the reincarnations before them found Konoha together but died 70 years apart.

Let me repeat that. If Konoha has existed for only 50 years but Madara died 70 years after it was created.
