Mini-review:

This drama is quite silly, but also very fun and cute. It clearly sets out to entertain viewers, and it absolutely delivers on that regard. I really vibed with its goofy sense of humor and, as a fan of stories with lots of misunderstandings, I think the writers made a pretty fun use of that trope. But the drama's biggest strength is obviously the main couple. I know from experience that Fumi Nikaido is an infallible actress with an insane range (just compare her performance here with the one in the recently finished Shōgun), and Chae Jong Hyeop is the epitome of fluffiness and charm (plus he looks cute AF throughout the drama). On top of that, their chemistry is just fantastic. Oh, and I also loved the second couple; they had such a hilarious dynamic. So, did Eye Love You change my life? Definitely not. But did it make me laugh out loud and keep me thoroughly entertained? The answer is a resounding yes.

The group was originally rumored to have 9 members because of the pre-debut group that was originally formed for their debut, named IN-SYNC, but two were cut out of the lineup before debut and their identities are currently unknown, not much has been revealed about them other than clips of the group pre-debut that may have showcased these ‘hidden’ members. After the release of their first song ‘in my dreams’ starcrush spiraled into a period of success and fame, that quickly turned into one of a darker path.

𖤐 ˖   ࣪ ── starcrush are well known for their sub-units and interconnecting lore that holds the group’s music together. Their constant change in concept and sound is what draws attention to the group as a whole, which links to their songwriting and self-made choreography. Fans have noticed that the change in music each comeback is due to the members’ different tastes in style, leading them to create music that sounds different each time in order to uphold their title. Others have deeply inspected the meanings of their music and have noticed the heavy themes involved and imbedded in them.

Thank you all for voting! Some results are exactly what I expected but quite a few were confusing to me. Sometimes I wish I knew why people voted the way they did. Also, just for the record, I did randomize these. None of these pairings were planned.

Now for something important I'm going to say before things get too bad.

I've seen a few heated replies that are getting too close to aggressive for my taste. Guys, this is for fun. There are no real world consequences to the result of this poll bracket. If I believe someone is getting too aggressive or insulting towards other voters (or me), I will block. I don't want any true negativity here and if preventing some people from interacting keeps peace, I will do it. You all are free to try and convince others to vote the way you want, but keep it civil.

Tsukasa Amane vs Oriko Mikuni (63.8%) - Also a little sad neither Amane twin got through. I like their designs but that might just be my personal bias towards kimono-styled outfits.

Mifuyu Azusa (59.2%) vs Mabayu Aki - Mabuyu has a design I think would have fit with the Holy Quintet if she was released back in the day (and the clothes were green). But I have heard Scene 0 is pretty meh so that probably held her back quite a lot.

Sayaka Miki (86.1%) vs Nanoha Takamichi - I also thought the MGLN fans would have risen from depths and really voted for their titular character. But then again, Sayaka is a force to be reckoned with in this bracket.

Mitsuru Inami (73.6%) vs Luca Souju - Every single one of the characters I used fan art for didn't even move onto the second round. I could have just not included them and nothing would have changed. And that's a shame because I feel Kazumi has some real underrated designs, especially the Soujus.

Akatsuki no Yona Stage Play (2016)

The first Yona of the Dawn stage play was curiously not about the beginning of the story nor it was a direct sequel to the events covered in the anime season in 2014-15.

The play covered the Water Tribe Arc, from volumes 14 to 16 of the manga. Reportedely it also featured flashbacks to the early chapters, likely to give some context.

It ran from March 16 to 21, 2016 in Tokyo.
