as long as the sun remains the sun
"rise and shine, boys!" mattsun yells over the drowsy first years, banging pots and pans together. "rome wasn't built in a day!" "we're japanese!" tsukishima barks. 5k. iwaizumi/oikawa/kageyama. camping!au. also on ao3.
Asahi is the one who breaks first.
“WHAT THE FRICK!!” came a decidedly shrill, possibly embarrassing, surely pathetic scream from over all the way at the other side of the camp that had Iwaizumi snap his head in that direction and Oikawa inch closer to him almost imperceptibly.
"Don't tell me—" Suga shakes his head at the same time Daichi curses low under his breath, "What now."
A dozen things happen at once in rapid succession.
Noya sprints to the direction of the voice, Hinata close on his tail because he was basically His Tail. Ennoshita scrambling after them after Suga hissed at him to not just stand there and follow. Yahaba quirking an eyebrow at the elementary choice of a curse word, Narita catching his judgment and getting all up in his space until he apologized, Tanaka acting as his back-up.
Daichi, who had so far been in the middle of a passionate rant detailing Karasuno’s dependability when it came to these things—What things, Mattsun interjected. Roughhousing and getting our hands dirty, Suga supplied proudly—when Asahi all but debunked it in less than the time it took for Makki to count heads as soon as they arrived at the campsite.
“Your kid is missing,” Makki comments, looking over the list of attendees.
“Ours?” Oikawa asks, at the same time Daichi stands up, “Probably mine.”
Makki looks back and forth between them, suddenly feeling unsteady on his feet and fumbling around for an out. Iwaizumi knows exactly the reason why, and voices it out loud for everyone to hear: “It’s Kageyama.”
Again, a dozen things happen at once.
Daichi gasps out in horror, head whipping around the campsite.
Mattsun palms his forehead, already dreading the absolutely normal reaction he was absolutely going to get from Oikawa.
Suga decides he wants to permanently end Iwaizumi’s life for the multiple grave offenses he’d been committing against his soul throughout the day: getting the last window seat on the bus, being a loud snorer, breathing near him and making it his problem, choosing gluten-free marshmallows at the rest stop like a deranged psychopath. He told him as much at check-out, You’re a deranged psychopath and I don’t trust my first years with you, Suga admonished. Likewise, Iwaizumi replied, looking menacingly down at the copious amounts of sugary pastries in his basket. And you’re not feeding my first years this shit.
And really it was that bold and unfounded sense of entitlement that had Suga adding another box, more out of sheer spite than anything as he passed him, glaring, Watch me.
"We've been here less than an hour," Makki looks around in confusion, exasperated. "How have we already lost one of them. What exactly could have happened in less than an hour."
Suga and Daichi look at each other.
"Hinata," they say at the same time.
-
They find Kageyama lost in the woods.
It’s Iwaizumi, best tracker on the team and just generally more adaptable to wilderness survival, who finds him holding onto his duffel bag for dear life under the bark of an ancient looking tree. He apparently challenged Hinata to a race on who can get to the campsite first and got thoroughly sidetracked by the similar looking trees and having ostensibly no sense of direction or self-preservation, huddled in an open area easily accessible to rain or wild animals.
Iwaizumi sighed and mentally noted for later: Teach Kageyama basic life skills, that he then revises to, Make Sugawara teach Kageyama basic life skills.
“Kageyama,” he says, approaching the clearing. Kageyama’s head snaps up and the look of such open relief on his face tugs at Iwaizumi’s heart a little, because it really was so easy, to slip into a senpai complex for someone like him. “You okay?”
Kageyama blinks. "I-Iwaizumi-san," he starts hesitantly, standing up on shaking legs. "I—"
"Got lost," Iwaizumi answers for him. "I know. We've been looking for you for a while."
Kageyama flushes. "You have?"
"You mean you haven't been hearing your vice captain call your name bloody for the past hour?" Iwaizumi tries for a joke. Only it's not really, because Suga was swearing himself raw, if not for Daichi reminding him to preserve his voice for later.
But Kageyama still just blinks, still so disoriented, still so wet behind the ears no matter the facade he puts up.
"Right then," Iwaizumi clears his throat, beckoning him over. "Let's go."
Kageyama all but trips over his feet to follow after him, clutching his bag even tighter to his chest as he hangs off Iwaizumi’s every word.
“The next time you find yourself lost in the woods,” he starts explaining. “Try tracking the movement of the sun.” When he looks over to check if Kageyama was listening, instead notes the absolute gobsmacked expression on his face in return, amends just as quickly: "Oh, he says. “You can just — follow the sunset.”
Kageyama begins vehemently nodding, scrambling to get a notebook out and listing all the other things Iwaizumi was rattling off about when it came to Camping Survival 101. Don't eat this, he points to a patch of enticing ivy. Only drink from fresh water sources like rivers or streams, he adds. But if you find yourself in a pinch, carve out an opening from a tree and wait for the water to follow.
By the time they make it back to camp, Oikawa has half the Karasuno team—and some of Seijoh—in a formation line much like a militant officer does with its army lines, barking out orders to fan out across the different areas of the campsite. Go to the forest, ordered Oikawa at Noya. Try the trail behind the waterfalls, he yelled at Kyotani.
Daichi and Suga sported uniform looks of indignation as Oikawa looked an hour away from splitting his hair out in frustration.
“If someone doesn’t get Tobio back by midnight,” he warns the rest. “I swear to G—”
Iwaizumi coughs.
Oikawa doesn’t turn, doesn’t even acknowledge his return. He senses it, Iwaizumi knows, the change in the air and the very real presence Kageyama takes up in any space. So instead his shoulders just stiffen, tilting his head their way just so.
“I mean,” Oikawa coughs, loudly and not at all awkwardly. “Tobio can sleep in the rain for all I care!” he claps. “Right then, back to unpacking!"
-
Naturally, as with all order of things, sleeping arrangements go by as smoothly as everyone expects.
“No.”
“At least look at it.”
“No.”
"You didn't even look!"
"I said no."
Yamaguchi looked like he was tempted by the devil himself to throw a log Kunimi’s way. “Oi,” he hisses, growing annoyed. “What’s so wrong with this sleeping bag? It’s the same as everyone else’s.”
Kunimi cast a bored glance at the pack Yamaguchi was holding up, all neatly folded and prepped for use. “It’s orange,” he deadpans. “I hate orange.”
“It’s just a color!” yells Yamaguchi. “It functions exactly the same!”
“Then why don’t you use it?” Kunimi lifts a brow. Behind them, they can hear Hinata yelling at Kageyama to move his sleeping bag by the outskirts of the camp, his longer than usual pack taking up half the space designated for the first years. Kindaichi looked equally awkward trying to fit himself and his belongings in what little space they were allowed to take up. “If it’s basically the same thing anyway?”
Yamaguchi breathes once, twice. “It’s not for me,” he explains slowly. “None of our sleeping bags fit Tsukki. He needs a longer one like Kageyama’s.”
Kunimi crosses his arms in defiance. “And that’s my problem because?”
Yamaguchi has half the mind to call out for Daichi, or Iwaizumi, or literally anyone else who could demonstrate even a modicum of empathy so clearly lacking in Kunimi.
"You don’t even need it!” he gestures wildly to the mint green one by his legs. “You can use the large one like everyone else’s! Tsukki can't use anything else but extra large!”
Kunimi huffs, brushing past him. “I’m not like everyone else,” delivered in the same cadence as a main character in a 2000s romcom who finally decides she's better than everyone and doesn't need a man to fulfil her needs both emotionally and physically.
"What the fuck," Yamaguchi swears under his breath as he stared after him.
He turns his head in time to see Hinata and Kageyama running around and demanding Kindaichi to share his insect repellant spray, along with some of the manga he brought, telling him to not be so selfish and stop hoarding all the survival items. Iwaizumi stops them all with a glare and forces Kindaichi to share, Hinata to shut up, and Kageyama to let him know if he needs anything else.
"What the fuck," Yamaguchi swears under his breath as he stared after them.
-
By the time dinner rolls around, everyone is either pissy (first years), amused (second years), or elated (third years).
They were all lounging about the makeshift campfire that took all afternoon to build, the warmth of the fire lighting up everyone's features along with the moonlight streaming in through the gaps in the trees. It was unusually cold that night, a breeze in the air that began from deep in the forest until it tapered out to just north of chilly in their site. But even so, the expressions on everyone's faces felt far more frosty.
Oikawa is the first to pick up the tension.
He leans over to whisper as much to Daichi, who was busy arranging the logs in the fire. “I think,” he starts curiously. "Something is going on."
Daichi looks up to survey around the camp, taking stock of his own kin and then some.
Hinata and Kageyama are, predictably, huffing and puffing and very pointedly looking away from each other because God knows what and who has the time. Yamaguchi has been apologizing for the better part of ten minutes, very nearly close to begging to a Tsukishima who hasn't even so much as glanced his way, because God knows what and who has the time. Kunimi and Kindaichi are the only ones who at least look mildly cohabitative, but then again Daichi thinks he’s never seen them be anything but bored and nervous, respectively and in equal measures.
His eyes trail over everyone—in various states of pissed, amused, elated—before giving up and shrugging, “God knows what and who has the time.”
But evidently, Suga and Iwaizumi do.
“Well well well,” Suga cooes, straddling up to where the first years were, sensing turmoil between Yamaguchi and Kunimi. "What say we turn those frowns upside down?"
"Oh god," Yamaguchi audibly groans into his hands. "Please stop."
Kunimi looks on in horror at a grinning Suga, slowly inching away from the fire before Iwaizumi clamped a hand on his shoulder, "Not so fast."
Yamaguchi and Kunimi lock eyes in a rare moment of unity. There was an internal conversation happening in the span of a second, before both of them, as if on cue, break open.
"HE WON'T GIVE ME HIS BAG!"
"HE WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Iwaizumi puts both his palms up. "Bedside voices, boys," he chides, stern. Suga instinctively took a step back at the sound, but rights himself on time as he comes up next to Iwaizumi. "Yes yes," he agrees. "What he said."
Across the crackling of the fire, Daichi looks on impassively as Oikawa sports a drool.
"Think we should do something?" Daichi nods to the almost ridiculous scene of Yamaguchi and Kunimi both kneeling by the dirt, heads bowed low in shame as Iwaizumi rattled off about team camaraderie and the importance of communication. Suga was animatedly agreeing along to whatever he was saying and sporting his own That's right! That's right! comments from time to time. "We are technically their captains."
"Captains, shmantains," Oikawa mumbles distractedly, and when Daichi turns to look, notes in annoyance his attention wasn't even directed at the scolding but more so the matters of Iwaizumi's backside in shorts. "We do enough. We work hard. We earned this."
Daichi coughs awkwardly. "Earned what, exactly."
Oikawa doesn't even budge, stars shooting out of his eyes as he gave possibly the most obvious and inappropriate once-over Daichi has ever seen in his life. And he's seen Tanaka with Kiyoko.
"This," he says, gesturing to Iwaizumi and in Oikawa's words, "glorious display of aesthetic athleticism."
-
They threaten everyone with suicide runs the next morning.
If there was anything at all both third years unanimously agreed on—aside from their perverse sense of ownership over exactly who it was that raised Kageyama, with Iwaizumi putting up a surprisingly good fight—it was the equally perverse sense of joy they derived from torturing underclassmen. The sun was glaringly bright, the blue of the clouds so open, and the ringing voices of their seniors all the more jarring.
"Rise and shine, boys!" Mattsun yells over the drowsy first years, banging pots and pans together. "Rome wasn't built in a day!"
"We're Japanese!" Tsukishima barks, putting the covers back up on his head.
Suga just yanks his blanket from his sleeping bag, earning him a death glare he expertly deflects with a smile that was deceptively way too chipper for someone he swears he heard yelling at Daichi during Golden Week to shut his phone up or he was going to hurl it across the Pacific Ocean.
"Japanese, Yappanese," Makki strolls over to shake Kageyama and Hinata off of their matching sleeping bags. "Today, you're all under our command."
Hinata just rolls over Kageyama.
Kageyama just lets him.
Makki curls a brow, a single foot raised to kick them before Oikawa gets there first, pushing him away. "I got it," he says. "Jesus Christ, Makki, they're children."
"We're sixteen!" bites out Tsukishima again, who was now being forcibly dragged by Mattsun along with Kunimi and Kindaichi to the shower stalls. "And we have legal rights! My brother will hear about this!"
"Your aniki will be glad someone finally put your spoiled ass in place," Daichi declares, trying to separate Hinata from their tangle of limbs. From his peripheral, he can see Asahi gently trying to get Yamaguchi to stop mumbling in his sleep. "He sends his regards by the way! Saeko-neesan too, Tanaka!"
"Tobio," Oikawa crouches, rocking his sleeping bag. "Tobio," he says again, shaking his shoulder. "Tobio," he hisses directly next to him. Nothing. Oikawa breathes once, twice, before standing up and very pointedly bringing a leg up to stamp on him before Iwaizumi, too, beats him to it.
"What the fuck," he swears, putting a hand out to stop him. "So much for them being children!"
Oikawa has his mouth open to retort, before a ball of orange fur snowballs its way past them and lumps itself together again with the black mass that was Kageyama. They hear Daichi stomping over the next second, cursing under his breath at Hinata for once again getting past him.
"Kageyama.." Hinata mumbles into his hair sleepily, and to their horror, sees Kageyama actually melting into the embrace almost unconsciously. "Think... someone's calling.. Let's.. ignore.. if.. Tsukishima."
-
By the time they wrangle everyone awake and slap water on their faces, Daichi and Oikawa are only too happy to introduce them to the 10-km hiking trail everyone was required to complete.
"Mind," recalls Oikawa, looking over his nails in boredom. "We heard there were some snakes in the more woodsy areas."
"Bears too," adds Daichi, grinning.
"Bears too," affirms Oikawa, also grinning.
Kyotani and Tanaka try to run.
Iwaizumi hauls them both back by the necks of their shirts, all pearly white teeth in the shit-eating grin on his face when he dumps them back on the line. Hinata shudders and rapidly gets his phone out, shaking hands wobbly typing out his last will and testament to an incoherent text meant for Kenma; when a hand shoots out to yank it out of his hands. Mattsun, grinning down on him like a feline cat, as he then began patting everyone down and demanding they surrender their electronics. Next to him, they can hear Yamaguchi pleading for his life to a bored Makki.
Suga doesn't answer to a single one of their cries for help.
Asahi just hid cowardly behind him.
Daichi whistles to get everyone’s attention.
“Alright then,” he grins over the growing crowd and uses their agony to fuel his adrenaline higher. Oikawa was doing the same. “With this, we formally welcome you to the Annual Karasuno-Seijoh Summer Teambuilding Camp!”
Oikawa’s smile fades a little at that. “I thought we agreed on Seijoh-Karasuno?”
“Are you perhaps a secret fujoshi?” Daichi asks innocently.
Oikawa blinks. “I—” he starts, unsurely, ignoring Suga chuckling behind him. “I don’t particularly think so, no.”
“Then it doesn’t matter,” Daichi snaps, turning his attention back to their first and second years who were only growing more creative with their complaints and vain attempts at getting out of the day’s torture activities.
"I sprained my ankle," whines Hinata.
"You're our fastest runner," rebuts Suga.
"I'm allergic to trees," pipes Kindaichi.
"Not a thing," offers Mattsun.
"My sister said no," weeps Tanaka.
"You wanna try that again?" warns Daichi.
Iwaizumi clasps his hands together. "Enough!" he booms. If Oikawa inched closer to him in turn, everyone has the good foresight to keep their mouths shut about it. "Are we doing this or what?"
"Y-yes, Iwaizumi-san!" the first and second years chorus.
Now both Oikawa and Daichi's faces fell.
"Why do they always only listen to him?" wonders Suga, falling into step with the third years at the rear of the line. The first years were ahead, yelling and grovelling and swearing all their seniors rotten. It was music to their ears. "Is it like an alpha thing?"
"Most definitely an alpha thing," muses Makki, who also falls into step beside him. "Have you seen the way even Oikawa looks at him? Omega ass behavior."
-
They take their first break after three hours.
Or, maybe it was more accurate to say, Tsukishima wouldn't stop grinding everyone's ears about the asthma condition he conveniently picked up within the first thirty minutes despite Suga knowing from Kiyoko no one on the team had such an autoimmune disease, that then suddenly morphed into an apparent life-threatening mutation that was going to kill him and everyone around him if he didn't let his body pause to take a break now, right now, this instant; that had Daichi snapping at everyone to take five.
"Oh thank god," Tsukishima wheezes, falling to his knees.
"Tsukki!" came Yamaguchi's predictable cry of concern no sooner.
Most of the first years are sprawled out on the ground, chests heaving and breaths coming out in pants. The second years look as equally insufferable, but are too prideful to show any form of weakness to the third years who all but look like they just came out of a sports magazine photoshoot. There wasn’t a sliver of disorientation or a hair out of place. Iwaizumi even passed around the loot bags they had apparently so lovingly, out of the goodness of their hearts, prepared for them while they were all sleeping the night before.
Only the best for our cute kouhai! singsung Oikawa gleefully.
Be thankful we even remembered to bring snacks for you forgetful brats! scolded Daichi sternly.
Hinata gingerly brings himself back to life, dragging his aching bones and his pack to where most of the first years converged purely out of a symbiotic survival instinct to band together against exploitative seniors. They were already angrily in a discussion about something, something that sounded much like plotting for the demise of Oikawa.
Or Daichi.
Or both.
"Do you know what they're feeding Goshiki right now?" Hinata seethes in a low voice, eyes darting around in alarm. "Fresh bread and crepes. Crepes. And what has Iwaizumi-san fed us so far?" he frowns down at the loot bag. "Fish crackers. Frog legs. For nutrition. Jesus Christ."
Kunimi grimaces, rubbing at his sore neck. "Welcome to the club."
"Have they always been this insufferable?" groans Tsukishima, angrily munching on a fish cracker.
"Oikawa? Yes," Kunimi replies. "Iwaizumi? Also yes."
"Oikawa-san is usually nicer," Kindaichi offers, breaking off a piece of a protein bar he snuck into his pants that morning to split with Kageyama and Yamaguchi. "But Iwaizumi-san is a dictator, yes."
"Can confirm," Kageyama adds, after mumbling his thanks.
"Shut up!" Tsukishima hisses, yanking his share of the snack and shoving it in his mouth. "They basically pamper you!"
Kageyama points to himself incredulously. "M-me?" he stammers. "Daichi wouldn't give me another blanket because he told me children in third world countries didn't even have a roof over their heads and to not be so selfish, Kageyama. We raised you better than this, Kageyama," he mimes hotly. "And I'm the spoiled one?!"
Now it was Hinata's time to be annoyed. "Remind me again who was it that Oikawa-san made sure to get extra servings of rice last night."
Yamaguchi was only more than happy to pile on. "And who Iwaizumi-san made sure got warm water for his bath."
Kindaichi, surprisingly, also joins in. "And who warned me and Kunimi a day before the trip to be nice to Kageyama."
"Can confirm," is all Kunimi says, stealing Kindaichi’s insect repellant spray from Hinata's pack.
-
"A little more to the left, Kunimi."
...
"More."
...
"More."
...
"Are you an athlete or what? Tilt further and higher than that! More!"
...
"Daichi-san," Kunimi starts slowly, struggling to hold up the fishing pole that was already struggling to break with how brittle it was. Behind them he can hear Oikawa and Iwaizumi using far less harsher words to Kageyama and Hinata.
"This," he croaks out, "is my more."
They were somewhere by the open river, honest to gods fishing for their keep because someone—aka Iwaizumi—got it inside Daichi's and Suga's heads that real men should earn their keep and not wait to be fed. Nevermind all of them were literal minors and had literal permission slips signed to delegate these seniors with their lives in the event something should happen. Nevermind all of it was legally binding. Nevermind the second years didn't even bat an eye as soon as Iwaizumi got the fishing poles and worms out, apparently already expecting this method of torture from the previous year.
Tsukishima of course put up a riot.
He sputtered out and about as he rallied for the perfectly good rations they had back at the campsite and even volunteering himself for cooking duty if that was the problem. Makki and Mattsun were only too happy to tug him along to the deepest end of the waters, hunking him down and forcing him to wield the longest fishing pole they had. Might as well use that height for somethin', Makki quipped, Rather than just bitchin' and moanin'. Yamaguchi was tasked with the gruesome chore of feeding the live worms to his bait, his features squeamish and disgusted. Y-you can do it, Tsukki!
"Ease up on him a little, Daichi," Suga teases some ways near them, helping Kindaichi keep a line steady.
"I will if he would just tilt to the left," Daichi warns, arms impatiently pointing to the side. Kunimi groans again, digging up some of his reserves to wield the stubborn line that wasn't budging this way and that. "It's really not moving!"
"You're just not tilting hard enough," demands Daichi.
"I am!" cries Kunimi, a bead of sweat trailing down his jaw.
"More!" barks Daichi, insistent. "Unless you're okay with Kindaichi one-upping you?"
Kunimi's head snaps to Kindaichi, who was raising about a 15-inch slapjack hooked to his pole, along with the world's most shit-eating grin he wants to wipe off. Suga was beaming up at him proudly and yelling out his accomplishment for all of them to see and hear. Cries of congratulations and envy are volleyed throughout the stream. He sees foam rise out of Kageyama's ears as he huffed and rolled on his line even more fervently, an amused Iwaizumi telling him to go slowly and Oikawa taunting Hinata to do the same.
"Let this be a lesson to you boys," Suga jeers across the field. "If you have a good mentor, the rest will follow!"
All the third years lock eyes.
They dine on the entire sea that night.
-
The training camp ends with an old-fashioned bbq party.
Iwaizumi was on the grill with Daichi and Asahi, moving in a routine that’s far smoother and more amicable than the rough patch they started with. They find out Iwaizumi is particularly adept at manning the grill and flipping the meat over, all grunt work and being the only one of the two who actually followed through with his verbal warnings to any of the first years who kept trying to sneak an early bite.
I wouldn't do that if I were you, he warned to a stunned Yamaguchi. Unless you want this knife aimed somewhere lower.
Daichi, in charge of seasoning and Asahi with prepping, deft and nimble hands making quick work of both; don't even bat an eye when they see Iwaizumi set aside three plates he starts unceremoniously piling up with the leaner portions of meat.
Kunimi and Kindaichi are a given—Daichi pleasantly surprised to see him gentle somehow where they are concerned—but it's Kageyama who still comes as a surprise.
"Are they related or something?" Asahi whispers, oiling some of the grill grates. "Maybe cousins? Kageyama does look a little like him."
Daichi shakes his head, rubbing a thin layer of salt and pepper to a piece of chicken thigh. "I don't think so," he admits. "Just former teammates, I think."
Asahi nods along. "And Oikawa?"
"What about him?" pipes Iwaizumi, having overheard part of their conversation as he transfers some leftover charcoal Hinata brought to the pile. "What about Oikawa?"
Asahi flushes a little. "Oh," he says. "It's just that he's — well —"
Iwaizumi gestures for him to go on.
"He seems—" Asahi continues, unsurely. "I don't know. Like he wants to both kill Kageyama in his sleep and feed him until he fattens up like one of those kids from Hansel and Gretel."
Daichi suppresses a laugh.
Iwaizumi just looks amused. "Actually," he surmises. "I think you got everything right. Definitely the feeding part, at least. It’s why he’s threatened me to set aside all the leg parts for Kageyama since this morning,” he chuckles. “But we're working on the killing part."
Everyone is only too happy to be fed normal food for once.
The sun was just shy of setting around the campsite, hues of golden orange and pale yellow streaking the place in a healthy, lovely glow. The sounds of birds chirping and flitting about the pine trees are a welcome break from all the yelling, the wind at just the right temperature to be breezy and warm.
Hinata, especially, is overjoyed with all of it. "Waaa!" he gushes, all bright eyes looking up at Iwaizumi who handed him his plate he filled with extra enoki mushrooms. "This looks soooo good, Iwaizumi-san!"
Iwaizumi blushes, looking away. "R-right," he stammers. "Yes. Um. Eat—well, then."
At his side, he can feel Suga eyeing him knowingly. "You can say it," he says, setting up the drinks. "Hinata is very cute and will feed your senpai ego well."
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” mumbles Iwaizumi, assembling the next plate.
The rest of the afternoon goes swimmingly. The sounds of easy laughter and open conversation flowing seamlessly throughout, seniors and juniors alike mingling. Asahi manages to hold a conversation with Makki and Mattsun that doesn't end with him sweating buckets at potentially overstepping anything he says, the Seijoh third years only too happy to know he was also a fan of the Sendai Frogs and was he looking to go pro after highschool, they wonder?
Tanaka and Noya were in a heated discussion with Yahaba and Kyotani, both parties having very spirited opinions on whether Kubota Sayu or Fujino Ryoko were the representatives of 2000s actresses for Nippon cinema. Daichi was giving even more pointers to Kunimi about fishing, Kindaichi not even bothering to hide he was listening in and Suga only too happy to use his distraction as a way to funnel more meat into his plate.
Oikawa was busy fussing over Kageyama in his usual roundabout way, frowning down at the lack of vegetables in his plate and blaming Iwaizumi for sabotaging the child's health intentionally. I know he's our rival and everything, Iwa-chan , Oikawa chides. But doesn't he deserve nutrition too? Iwaizumi gave him an amused look, perhaps knowingly, Oikawa not budging an inch. Iwaizumi relents and goes back to fetch an entire plate full of hijiki seaweeds and cucumbers and seasoned radishes.
Kageyama flushed at all the food and attention, but where those two were concerned, he's long since learned it was best to just let them have their way unless they argue and make it everyone's problem. Again.
Towards the end it's Daichi who approaches Oikawa first, two cups of yuzu in hand. "Think we did okay?"
Oikawa looks over at him, smiling in a skittish way, before accepting the drink. "I think," he takes a sip. "We did better than okay."
"Stellar endorsement from The Great King," Daichi teases. "Want to do it all over again next year?"
"There won't be a next year," Oikawa reminds him, an inflexion of something to his tone.
"Ah," Daichi blinks, and then: "Right."
Oikawa bumps shoulders with him. "But there's still be the next spring, and summer, and winter."
"Tsukishima might actually kill me if I even suggest we do something like this out in the cold," Daichi is quick to stop him. "Like actually kill me this time I think."
"Kageyama doesn't do well during winters either," Oikawa finds himself saying almost reflexively.
Daichi catches on, because of course he does. "Right," he says, smirking knowingly. “Of course.”
Oikawa blinks, unable to look at him. "R-right," he coughs awkwardly, before gesturing to the rest of the crowd. "Well then. Just as long as you stop threatening to make fishermen out of my players, I guess we can clear our schedule for you."
"And just as long as you stop trying to claim my first years as yours," Daichi's spread grins wider. "Then we would be more than happy to do this with you all over again, Oikawa-san."

i started writing this back in the last week of december going on into january bc we had so many karasuno bdays back then so uhhh TECHNICALLY this is a late bday post honoring like four people LMAO but let's go!!
during kageyama's first birthday at karasuno he gets a mysterious series of texts from an unknown number that goes like > happy birthday > not that this means you're forgiven > just thought it was the right thing to do > i know it's your first since. well. you know > you don't have to text back or anything!!!! > fuck fuck fuck just pretend this never happened BYE
he brings up it up two years later when he, kindaichi, and kunimi are better friends and kindaichi buries his red face in his hands and screams and kageyama isn't sure why
kunimi pats him on the back and tells him not to worry about it
ennoshita has a playlist that is solely just like white noise and creaking sounds and generally just things that would make you shit your pants alone in the dark and when asked why he just goes "it's the only way i can feel anything inside"
tsukki will NEVER admit it but he ASPIRES to be the level of deadpan that ennoshita is
tanaka: "so . . . why do you like him again?" ennoshita, watching a video he recorded of futakuchi walking straight into a lamppost bc he was playing pokemon go: "he makes me laugh"
no joke i think ennoshita is a dateko celebrity bc everyone knows about the guy that futakuchi kenji pines over bc futakuchi kenji is just known in a million ways and maybe like 90% of them are Not Good
a third-year has futakuchi by the collar and they're like "all right PUNK get ready to have your lights punched out you'll be seeing stars when i'm done with you" and futakuchi just sighs longingly and goes "ennoshita has eyes like stars . . ."
daichi is that type of upperclassman who knows very single friend of his juniors' but not in like a cool older sibling way he does it in a cringefail modern parent kind of way
kogane used to be soooooo scared of him before finding out what a huge dork he is
actually kogane isn't scared of asahi bc he's so used to aone and asahi cries over it
(sorry for plugging in dateko so much i just genuinely think they have such a fun relationship with karasuno i ADORE it)
onagawa: "man idk how you do it" narita: "do what?" onagawa: "being the only normal person on your team"
yeah no narita is carrying the weight of the world as the only person with the brain cell on karasuno
sometimes it's ennoshita but he's been dead inside since first year so
suga tells the first years he knows martial arts but all he really did was go to one (1) judo club demonstration during his second year of middle school and somehow managed to flip the captain over by sheer luck and never tried again
for takeda's birthday everyone teams up to get him a really nice fountain pen, a classical poetry book, and a quality bottle of sake. for ukai's birthday tsukki leads a powerpoint presentation on why smoking is bad for you and that he really should stop, backed up with everyone else standing behind him with their arms crossed and nodding along
okay that and they also get him a really cute apron (embroidered with crows!!) for him to wear around the store and a bag of good coffee
kiyoko has all - and i mean ALL - the snacks from the local convenience store on a tier list and when the vbc asked how the fuck she managed to do that she just went "my track team was a lot weirder than you guys"
actually the reason why daichi asked kiyoko to be the manager wasn't because kiyoko was the only one with no club activities going on it was because she gave asahi a hair tie when nobody else would and asahi had been trying to befriend her since (and also return said hair tie) but was too nervous to make the first move
asahi: "noooooo daaaaaaaiiiichiiiiiiiiii i caaaaaaaan't i'm so awkward and embarrassing!!!!" daichi, with all the confidence of a fifteen-year-old constantly winging it: "it's okay, i've got this!"
yeah he's just as surprised as you are that it worked out
especially considering he pitched it to her like a used car salesman
kiyoko carries a lot of hair ties with her when she starts just for asahi and when he leaves the team she doesn't stop bc she tells suga, daichi, and the second-years, "he'll come back, just wait and see"
THEY WERE FRIENDS TOO!!!! THEY WERE FRIENDS TOO!! THEY WERE FRIE -

Narita is completing his Fate series and says he plans on going back to DRRR and Baccano. After the Kaishin reveal I feel so exhausted by queer pairings that get merch but will never get together that I’m thinking of skipping out on DRRR’s comeback. I get the sense that Izaya/Namie is going to happen anyway and there’s also the possibility of Shizuo/Vorona or even Shizuo/Celty if Narita decides to go there. To be honest I’m not opposed to these pairings even if I don’t seek them out. It’s just that I spent too many years attached to a same sex pairing that will inevitably get with the opposite sex that even as a pan person it can feel annoying knowing why it ultimately happens. DRRR had 13 volumes and SH has 4 so far with 9 more potential volumes so anything can happen and I don’t think I can go through with this feeling again lol sigh
Being apart of fandom and enjoying queer ships means that most of the time it's inevitable that the ships we don't enjoy, the ones that are het and because of that are pushed, become canon but that's what makes fandom so special. We choose what we incorporate into our fanon, so if the author makes a decision we don't like, we ignore it.
I don't like how these creators will profit from the queer implications without having to follow through but that's as because we take any crumbs we can get. I'm not blaming fandom for that, it's just the reality of capitalism.
My advice would be to distance yourself from canon. We put this great emphasis on the importance of it and it is to a degree, especially when discussing the media, but when it comes to creating art or fiction? That is us just borrowing the dolls to make our own story, regardless of canon.
Hey and take heart, at least you won't have to worry about him making Shizaya cousins.

~Back In The Game~
~Chapter Eleven~
-Series Masterlist-
What happens when a girl who loves volleyball joins a boys' volleyball club? Does she find love? Will she relive her past or move forward? Join (L/N) (Y/N) on a journey with fun twists and turns.
I don't own Haikyuu or any of the characters.
Tumblr media
-Last Time-
“(Y/N)?” Someone says as you’re snapped out of your thoughts.
“Huh?!” You say while looking for the source of the voice.
“Are you okay?” A boy with medium-length dark brown hair and slightly down-turned eyes that make him look sleepy, says.
“Yeah, I’m good…” You drag out hoping he’ll tell you his name.
“Ennoshita Chikara.” He states. You smile and hold out your hand for a handshake.
“(L/N) (Y/N), but please call me (Y/N). It’s nice to meet you.” You introduce yourself while shaking his hand.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” He expresses as he lets go of your hand. “I’m a second-year, and I’m guessing you’re a first-year?”
“Yeah…” You shyly confirm while rubbing the back of your neck. ‘Cute.’ He thinks.
“Well, I’m glad you joined the club.”
“O-Oh, I’m-” You try to explain before being interrupted.
“(Y/N)!! Hinata yells running up to you. “Look at my jacket! Isn’t it cool?!”
“Yeah…so cool!” You say, trying to be excited for him. He continues to rant about his jacket while you stand there smiling awkwardly. Someone says your name so you turn to see Kiyoko next to you. “Yes?”
She holds out her hands that have something in them, something you didn’t notice she had at first. You ask if it’s for you and she nods. You hesitantly take it from her with thanks. You look at the soft black object before unfolding it. When you do, you see it’s the front of a jacket. You freeze for a moment before looking at Kiyoko with hope. She smiles and nods, indicating you to turn it around. You look back at the jacket and slowly turn it around. ‘Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’ is printed on the back. Staring at the words, you notice tears start to form in your eyes. You quickly wipe them away, hoping no one saw, but unfortunately, some people did.
“Tch. If I had to put mine on, you have to also.” Tsukishima says bitterly. You look at him with a worried expression before trying it on.
“It fits!!” You exclaim excitedly as you start looking at it in awe. ‘At least she’s not cryin anymore…’
“Of course, it fits. Why wouldn’t it?” Daichi asks. You stop admiring your jacket and look at him.
“O-Oh, um…” You stutter as you try to find an excuse. “I just got excited.” He looks at you skeptically but decides to drop it. You sigh in relief as you go stand with your first-year clubmates.
“(Y/N)! YOU LOOK SO HOT IN OUR JACKETS! BLACK SUITS-” Tanaka starts screaming before getting cut off by Daichi hitting his head.
“Hey, guys?” Daichi says to get your guys attention. “As the captain of the Karasuno Volleyball Club, let me be the first…to welcome you!”
“Thank you, sir!” Kageyama and Hinata shout together. Everyone disperses into their own little groups. You walk to Daichi, Suga, and Kiyoko.
“Excuse me…” You politely get their attention. “I just wanted to thank you for letting me play in the game. Also for letting me join the club and giving me a jacket.” You lovingly look at your jacket, then look at your senpais. “Thank you!” you exclaim while bowing. You hear chuckling before someone speaks.
“There’s no need to bow.” You stand straight and look at Suga. He smiles, “We’re grateful you joined.” You smile and quickly hug him. You thank him again before hugging Kiyoko and Daichi. After hugging the three you go over to Ennoshita and the two other guys with him.
“Hey, Ennoshita.” You say friendly.
“Oh, hey, (Y/N), what’s up?”
“Since I’m officially a member, I wanted to meet everyone.” As you finish you look at the two boys with Ennoshita. “Hi, I’m (Y/N)!” You introduce yourself.
“Kinoshita Hisashi.” Says a short, spiky light brown-haired boy.
“Narita Kazuhita.” Says a dark-haired boy with a shaved head.
“It’s nice to meet you both.” You say smiling. They respond with ‘You too.’ You ask them what positions all three of them play.
“We’re wing spikers.” Ennoshita replies while pointing at himself and Kinoshita.
“And I’m a middle blocker.” Narita says. “What about you?”
“Oh, well, I don’t play much anymore but I was a wing spiker and then a libero…” They looked at you in confusion. Not wanting to get into it, you tell them it’s a long story. You bid them farewell and go over to the first years. Unaware of the conversation happening between the third years, you start talking to your new group.
“That’s settled, I think,” Daichi says with a breath of relief. “Suga. You and Tanaka helped them out behind the scenes, right?”
“Huh?! N-Not really, no!”
“I’m just glad it worked out.”
“I know (Y/N) helped them quite a lot.” Daichi turns to look at Suga. “She would practice with them before and after school. And she always helped them instead of practicing herself…” Suga looks at you with admiration after speaking. He then sees the look on Daichi’s face. “O-Or at least that’s what I’ve been told!!” Daichi looks at him not believing him.
“Thanks.” He says to Suga, who looks at Kiyoko.
“Good work!” Suga says as he and Kiyoko put their hands on Daichi’s shoulders. This causes him to become a stuttering mess with a blush. Their attention is then directed to Hinata and Kageyama yelling about practicing more, which leads to talk about practice games.
“I did it!! I got one!!” You all hear a voice rapidly approaching the gym. Suddenly the door is pushed open and a guy with messy black hair and glasses is seen. His clothes are disheveled and he’s out of breath. “I’ve got us a practice game!!” He exclaims excitedly. Everyone is surprised as he continues. “It’s against one of the top four teams in the prefecture! Aoba Johsai!” Multiple questions are asked like, ‘You mean blue castle?!’ and ‘How did he manage that?’ You hear Hinata and Kageyama ask each other who the mystery man is before smiling like kids on Christmas morning.
“Oh! You two must be the problem children! Hinata and Kageyama!” the mystery man says looking at the two.
“Yes, sir…” They say together.
“And you must be the new manager! He says to you.
“Y-Yes, sir. I’m (L/N) (Y/N).”
“I’m Takeda Ittetsu, the new club advisor. I don’t have any experience with volleyball, so I can’t give you instructions on how to play, but I’ll do my best to help any other way!” He turns his attention to Daichi and Suga, he begins to apologize and explain why he hasn’t been around. “There’s a condition to playing against Aoba Johsai.”
“What is it?” You ask. Takeda looks at Kageyama. “Does it involve Kageyama?”
“Yeah…” He begins. “He has to be the setter for the entire game.” You gasp and look at him in disbelief. Your head then snaps to Suga. He looks upset. You go up to him as Tanaka starts yelling about disrespect. You block him out, only focusing on Suga. When you get to him you gently put your hand on his shoulder.
“You okay?” You ask with evident worry. He just looks at you. “Hey, it’s okay. We can always decline-”
“No. It’s alright.” He says trying to hide his pain.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah.” He says before walking up to the group. “Um, I think it’s fine. We don’t get chances like this very often.”
“Suga! How can you be okay with this?! You’re Karasuno’s official setter, not him!” Tanaka angrily yells.
“I know but… I want to see Hinata and Kageyama use their quick attack in a real game! I want to see how far it will get us!” Suga looks at Daichi after he’s done talking. They seem to have a silent conversation.
“Sensei, can you please give us the details?” You don’t pay attention to the details because your focus is on Suga.
Everyone gets ready to leave, so you hurry to be able to catch up to Suga. Just as you’re about to call his name, you hear Kageyama.
“I only got into the starting lineup due to that condition, But next time, I’m going to earn that spot the real way!” You’re shocked at first but soon smile. ‘He’s changing…’ you think. They stare at each other for a second before Suga responds.
“Oh, I was surprised because I thought I didn’t exist to you.” ‘What?! I swear I’m going to-” your thoughts are stopped when Kageyama speaks.
“Huh?... Why would I think that?” He asks, tilting his head.
“Because you have more talent and you’re more athletic than I could ever be?”
“The gap in experience between us isn’t overcome that easily! That and…” Just then Daichi, Tanaka, and Hinata call out to Suga. Frustrated, Kageyama continues. “The other members seem to… t-t-trust you…a lot… and stuff…” Suga is extremely shocked, as you are too. “I’m not giving up!” After Kageyama admits this, Suga stares at him.
“Good. I’m not giving up either.” Suga replies with determination.
“Suga! Daichi said he’s gonna buy us meat buns!” Tanaka shouts. You take this as your opportunity to slip in behind the group.
“Kageyama? Isn’t Aoba Johsai the high school most Kitagawa Daiichi players go to?” Suga asks as they walk.
“Usually, why?”
“Well, is this game going to be hard for you?”
“Maybe if we were still teammates but they’re the opponents. I’m going to play with everything I have. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“Good.”
“Are you sure you’re okay with this, Suga? Because I’m not!” Tanaka expresses.
“It does suck. But…they probably think Kageyama is still the same as he was in middle school. We have to show ‘em how wrong they are.”
“He’s got a point.” Daichi says as he comes back with meat buns. “We have to show them that Kageyama isn’t the only one to be afraid of. Right, Hinata?” Everyone looks at Hinata, only to see him stuffing his face. He salutes and tries to talk but can’t due to all the food in his mouth. Kageyama and Tanaka pick him up by this collar, but before they can yell at him they feel an angry aura that gives them shivers. They slowly turn their heads to look behind them to find the source. Suga and Daichi look at their scared faces and follow their gazes, which are directed at something behind the third-years. When they look they see you staring at the three in front of them. You slowly walk to the three.
“Put. Him. Down.” You demand. Scared out of their minds, they put Hinata down. Hinata gives you a closed-eyed smile.
“Thank you (Y/N)! You saved me!” He opens his eyes expecting you to be back to your happy self. He jumps then stiffens. (Y-Y/N)?”
“Daichi…” You say nicely, which scares everyone even more.
“Y-Yeah?’ He asks cautiously.
“Did you buy meat buns for everyone?”
“Yes…”
“Did you buy extra for Hinata?”
“No.” ‘I know where this is going…’ The four boys think.
“So, Hinata…” The said boy gulps. “Why do you have a full bag all to yourself?”
“W-Well…U-Um…” Hinata stutters while trying to defend himself.
“Tanaka…” You begin.
“Yes, Angel?” He asks as he’s immediately at your side.
“Hold him.” You say with a smirk. Before Tanaka can grab him, Hinata starts running. “HINATA!! GET BACK HERE!!!”
“I’m sorry! Please don’t kill me!”
“WELL NEXT TIME DON’T TAKE MY FOOD!!”
“Hey! Volleyball club! No fighting outside my store!” the shopkeeper yells.
“Sorry…” You, Hinata, and Tanaka say sheepishly.
You see Tsukishima and Yamaguchi walking toward you so you call them over. You begin chatting with everyone until you notice Hinata standing off to the side smiling. You make eye contact with him and he freezes. ‘Is she still mad?’ he questions silently. After staring at him, you smile and silently laugh. Once he sees this he relaxes. You hold up a meat bun and gesture him over with your head. He walks over to you and you hand him the food.
“Next time, don’t take my food.” You both laugh until Daichi says your and Kageyama’s names.
“When you guys are done eating, do you have a minute?” He asks, pointing at the shop.
“Sure.” You both say.

Emu: Shinnosuke! My love! *kisses Shinnosuke's lips*
Takeru: I think it's safe to come out now...
Nico: Now that he's found someone to cling to, I guess it does.
Gou: Oi, what's going on?
Gou: Why is the doctor showering Shin-niisan with kisses?
Parad: Oi! Emu! Share!
Emu: No! Shinnosuke is mine and mine only!
Poppy: And it affects the bugsters too?!
Nico: It probably has something to do with Parad being Emu's personal bugster.
Kiriko:*sighs* I'm guessing this is a monster attack?
Poppy: Yes.
Nico: We had everyone not affected hide nearby because it affects at least two people.
Poppy: *gestures to Hiiro kissing showering Taiga with kisses and Kiriya showering Onari with kisses*
Nico: *gestures to Makoto chasing after Akari while Javert clinging onto Narita*
Takeru: Emu-sensei was the last one who hasn't found anyone to cling onto.

Spoiler Alert: None of the Riders were able to beat the monster but one angry Kiriko who sent the monster in space with her version of a Rider kick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX-A2F6QKwQ [Galactic Punt part]
----
Everyone's reaction upon sobering from the effects of the monster's attack?
By mutual understanding among the Riders, no one ever talks about it ever again. Nobody. Not even Tsukasa has the balls to bring it up, lest he be subjected to the Boots of Doom and the Laughing Pressure Point.
And, quite predictably, neither Emu nor Parad have any memories of the incident, which is for the better.
Meanwhile, Shinnosuke's just glad his wife understood the situation and kicked the monster's butt instead of his

Ch 14- K.T. turns into a girl!
Time went pass with practice as they now have break.
Goshiki waiting in cafeteria for Tobio, he felt nervous but at the same time excited always curious about Tobio who Ushijima find interesting along with Hinata but the one who been called ‘king of the court’.
Tobio came in the cafeteria after all Karasuno try not to let Tobio go but sadly Tobio wants to make friends even though the guys think it was a date.
Let’s rewind of why the Karasuno boys think that shall we…
Tobio went back with their team in the room until Suga asked Tobio while the others listen in on the conversation while Tobio look up while has their hands on Hinata head for being well Hinata for being loud in their ears and listen what Suga about to say “Kageyama, what you and Goshiki talked about?”
Tobio blink then reply “Oh umm he wants to hang out with me.”
As Noya shouted “LIKE A DATE!”
Tobio blush a bit at that then shake their head saying no
Yamaguchi, Hinata and Tsukishima eye twitch a bit after what Noya stated and its not only them that feel that way.
Daichi cross his arms as Asahi sigh at Noya jumping in conclusion but worry for Tobio as well and for Suga well he evil smile wide with eyes closed and planning a murder Goshiki for hanging out Tobio without his permission first but at the same time happy for Tobio for making new friends at the same time.
Tanaka, Ennoshita, Narita and Kinoshita look like they want to plan a murder along with Suga. Tobio blinks at them wondering what the big deal we just hanging out...right.
Time moves forward for Tobio to hang out with Goshiki.
Goshiki saw Tobio as Tobio saw him waiting as they rush up to Goshiki. Goshiki asked “So let get to know each other, Kageyama!”
Tobio nod as they both went but not before people who saw this interaction and plan to follow them behind while the managers shake their heads at the boys for being silly and felt sorry for Tobio.
Goshiki keep asking questions about volleyball as Tobio respond honest and might add bluntly with their words Tobio almost wince when they felt bad of what they just said but jump a bit when Goshiki look determine defiantly remind Hinata.
While for the guys whose following behind them well for some who are worry, or just making sure if someone won’t do anything or try not to kill someone. But they do keep their distance though but Goshiki get the feeling they being followed even felt some murderous aura which makes him shiver which makes Tobio frown a bit and asked “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m alright. This is fun by the way maybe we can hang out more again. Oh! I can give you my number…here” Goshiki gives his number to Tobio who just blink in surprise a bit as Tobio got Goshiki number but when they got back from the gym (yes, after they met at the cafeteria, they decide they want to go to the gym and play volleyball but off course for Goshiki to asked questions.)
Time went by as Tobio go back to room where the managers.
Tobio thought when they lay down on futon ‘That was fun, wonder what tomorrow would be like?’ Tobio let out a small smile as they close their eyes ready for tomorrow.

Chapter 3: The young man with a beauty mark and red hair
Tumblr media
Yooo finally you get to meet Baki. Hehehe.
hAah
________________________
After the dream, you realized that you weren't just getting revenge for yourself, but also your mother and all the others that your father had hurt. You weren't really sure of your self, but somehow that sad dream had boosted your confidence. "Alright, lemme get up Sugar." You spoke softly to your dog who had her head on your lap. She looked up at you with a her big brown eyes as if to plead with you no to move but she moved her head anyway and you gave her a pat on the head. You got up and decided to head out for a walk with Sugar deciding to lay around, opting to not go with you. You smile a little to yourself and give her a peck on the nose before heading out.
Time skip to the day of the trip
"Beep…Beeep…Beeeeep…" You open your eyes waking up to your phone alarm ringing in your ear. You immediately go to shut it off, not wanting to hear it anymore because you wanted to sleep in a little longer, but before you can do that Sugar is on you. She laps at your face with her tongue attempting to wake you up and succeeding in her attempt, you push her off of you. "I'm up! I'm up!" You say in protest as she attempts to begin her assault again, with a little triumphant bark she hops off the bed. You get up and out of bed to begin getting ready for your trip. You look over the checklist on your nightstand before getting freshend up and going down stairs to make some food.
Once you are done with everything you hear a knock on the door and open it to find a woman in a black dress and glasses on. "My name is Claudia, I will be taking care of your house while you are away on your trip to Japan." She speaks introducing herself with a small polite bow. "Oh. Hello. I'm Y/N, but you already knew that. Anyway I'll give you a quick tour and I'll be off on my trip." You respond with a small bow as well. You lead the older woman into the house and show her around, you introduce her to Sugar as well. "If you don't mind me asking, what breed of dog is she?" Claudia asks from behind you as you put Sugar into the dog crate in the car and grab a pair of sunglasses that were sitting ontop of the crate. "She is a pure bred Tosa Inu." You respond with a hint of pride in your voice, since the dog breed is considered rare. Claudia nods in response staring at you with a bit of suspicion, you catch this and let out an audible sigh of annoyance. "If you think I'm taking my dog to Japan just to fight, you are poorly mistaken. She is my everything, I would never do anything like that to her." You tell her, your aura suddenly changing from welcoming and friendly to downright hostile. You crush the sunglasses you were holding in your hand, the pieces making noises as they hit the ground. The older woman makes an audible noise of alarm and quickly apologizes. You smile then apologize in return, chalking it up to being nervous about traveling, you hand Claudia a spare set of keys to the house and you're on your way to the airport.
Time skip to when you get to the airport and board the plane. It's roughly around 13 hours of flight time so I won't go into details, but typical annoying children on plain stereotypes and yada yada yada….
As soon as the plane lands in Narita Airport, which is the closest aitport to Tokyo, you stretch and let out a loud yawn. Once you disembark the plan you go and find the luggage area and animal drop off spot. When you have your baggage and Sugar secured in her harness and leash, you enter the mian part of the airport plaza. You go down a flight of escalators and from the top you spot a man with a sign with your name on it. Once you reach the bottom you approach the man who politely bows when you reach him, he has a black suit on with a green tie. You bow back in return as Sugar proceeds to sniff him, he leans down to pet her the asks you to follow him. You nod to him in response, he grabs your bags for you then leads you out of the plaza, to a black car. The driver greets you and Sugar as you enter the backs seat. The other man enters the car and asks for the papers. You reach into your bag that you had kept with you and hand him the papers. The man asks you to answer some questions and you agree, in return you ask some as well. After a few minutes of driving you reach your destination, one of the many residential wards in Tokyo. You pass by a large high school and a few minutes later the car stops at a nice looking home. The house itself is modern looking with two stories and a small lawn. You exit the car with Sugar who happily wags her tail at the smell of other dogs in the area. The man with the green tie steps out of the car and leads you inside of the the house, handing you the keys as well as a Japanese to English dictionary. He shows you around the house as the driver takes your bags from the trunk and brings them inside. You thank both of the men profusely once they begin to leave.
Time skip to around a week later once you get comfortable around the house and the residential area of where you are staying, as well as the Tokyo Dome/around that area
Around four in the morning you wake up with a sudden jolt, a sharp pain exploding throughout your entire body. "Oh fuck." You groan as you get up from out of bed, heading to the bathroom you take your suppression pills. As you are heading to the bathroom you see Sugar walking towards you, she barks at you once and you know immediately that she needs to go out. "Hold on Sugar." You say to her with a wince as the pain spreads throughout your entire body, you immediately grab your medicine and take it. Once it starts to kick in a little, you throw on some F/C sweats and take Sugar out for a walk. You head down a dark alleyway and let Sugar off of her leash to go explore, she immediately takes off running into a certain direction. You run after her and you loose sight of her, you try and take a sniff of the air but the suppression pills have dulled your senses. You stumble into another dead end in the alleyway way when you you hear a yelp of pain from over the brick wall.
Your entire body freezes when the sound is made again, but in a more desperate tone. The effects of the suppression pills haven't fully kicked in yet, and the sound could be heard yet again which makes your blood boil as the smell of blood, Sugar's blood, wafts over the large brick wall. Your chest tightens up as anger seeps from every pore of your skin. You take a few steps back as your senses heighten some due to the phase of the moon. You run at the wall and leap over it in one bound, your eyes lock onto the situation that is happening. Sugar is fighting off an older Tosa inu that is covered in scars. The other dog had given her a few cuts and she was bleeding as was itself from a deep bite wound in it's shoulder. Once your feet hit the ground, you put yourself between the two large dogs to stop them from fighting. The other dog lunges forward at you but Sugar manages to get past you and slams into the other dog, knocking it away from you. "Knock it off Musashi." You hear from the left of you, immediately you look up to see a young man with a beauty mark and red hair. The dog in question gets up and wags his tail at the young man and meandering towards him. You stifle back a scoff of distain at the stranger and promptly call your own dog over. "Sugar, come here." You command as your dog meanders over towards you and sits in front of you. "You should really keep your dog on a leash," says the young man in a tired voice. "Your stupid dog could've ended up killing my dog." He finishes the sentence with a long yawn, but before he could close his mouth you lunged at him.
You bite down on his shoulder, yet before you can cause any significant damage he lands a punch to your gut. You stagger backwards from the blow, but before you could retaliate, you throw up. Vomit spews from your open mouth as you hurl up everything you had eaten, including a half digested pill of your suppression medication. Before you even realize what you had thrown up, your body begins to erupt in pain. You let out a primal cry as every nerve in your body is set on fire. You quickly try to pick up the half digested pill, but you cannot see through your tears that your body was producing. "No! Dammit! No!" You shout in anger, it was too late, you were going to turn. "Fuuuu-" You're words are cut short as the stranger with the beauty mark and red hair leans down to look at you. Your body begins to grow larger, Sugar nudges against you in an attempt to calm you, but to no avail. You were turning and this young man was about to be in a whole lot of pain.

then noya took his shirt off too bc he was sweating buckets
but kageyama wasn’t really sure why they had their shirts off so he felt the need to ask
‘why aren’t you putting your shirt back on?’
noya was just kinda like ‘who are you, my mom?’ but tanaka gave him a straight answer which was ‘it helps with ✨ aerodynamics✨’
kageyama isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed so he doesn’t even know what aerodynamics are
but then he watched tanaka make a killer spike and he was sold
shirt = off
aerodynamics = thriving (?)
sets = awesome
back scratches = exposed 😳
hotel = trivago
tsukishima was the first one to notice ofc as he was positioned right behind kageyama
he didn’t say anything tho bc yamaguchi was on the opposite team so he just had to snicker to himself
hinata was like ‘what’s so funny, stinkyshima?!’ bc he automatically assumed that tsukishima was laughing at him lol
but then he followed tsukki’s gaze and leaned back to look at kageyama’s back too
‘yeesh, man. you should probably put some aloe vera on that or something, it could get infected.’
AIUWRAFHBE ok ok hinata isn’t completely oblivious to the connotations of back scratches but he’d never think in a million years that kageyama would get laid so he kinda subconsciously ruled that possibilty out-
kageyama quirked a brow, ‘what?’
‘your back! it’s all mangled.’
then noya and tanaka ran over and fkn BURST OUT LAUGHING
at this point, all of kageyama’s team was surrounding him while the other team waited patiently for them to serve
but after a while, it was clear that they weren’t gonna do that so suga - who was on the opposing team - strolled over to see what they were all laughing about
and when he saw it- bitch- he went red
a cool mom so he probably made a suggestive remark as he walks away
it eventually got to the point where everyone in the gym was crowded around kageyama and for ease, i’ll categorize their reactions:
laughing their ass off  ➵ tsukishima, tanaka, nishinoya, coach ukai & yamaguchi
concerned and confused  ➵ yachi, takeda, hinata & narita
a blushing mess  ➵ asahi, kinoshita & sugawara
unfazed 😐  ➵ kiyoko & daichi
LIVID  ➵ kageyama
‘WHY DO YOU ALL CARE SO MUCH ABOUT MY BACK?!’
kageyama could literally break his neck and walk into practise with a neck brace and no one would bat an eye but now that he has scratches on his back, suddenly everyone is so concerned about his wellbeing? where with this energy that time he said that hinata gave him a concussion?
to be fair, he didn’t have a concussion- also, he forgot the word so he told suga that hinata gave him a ‘conclusion’
daichi agreed, trying to usher everyone back to their spot on the court, ‘yeah, it’s no big deal, guys. let’s get back to practise.’
everyone slowly made their way back to where they were previously but since tanaka and noya were still on kageyama’s team, they continued to pry
tanaka flung his arm around kageyama’s shoulders, ‘so how’d you get those scratches, big boy?’
an ungodly laugh left noya’s mouth
kageyama shrugged, ‘(y/n), i think.’
the whole gym room went silent before erupting in choruses of laughter once again
‘WELL YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND NEED TO CALM DOWN THEN!’ tanaka wheezed
kageyama was truly the idiot that didn’t understand the implications of the back scratches - so you can imagine that he was frustrated when everyone started laughing again
‘what’s so funny?’ but then, he recalled the events which he was pretty certain were the reason for the marks on his back......it was pretty funny
you insisted on giving kageyama a back massage after a long day of practise so he took his shirt off and let you go for it
for the record, he really loved it :)) he was just so happy sitting there between your thighs as you sat on the couch and rubbed his back, loosening all the knots he didn’t even know he had
but then he got a lil’ inch on his back and was like ‘can you get that for me?’ since your hands were already on his shoulders/back
ofc you said yes and started lightly scratching the spot he desired, but being extra careful bc you just got you nails done in the stiletto shape and the last thing you wanted to do was puncture his back lol
‘harder..’ kageyama muttered so low that you almost didn’t hear him
you obliged, pressing a bit harder
‘harder.’ he insisted once more
again, you served by digging your nails in a bit deeper
‘harder.’
‘no, kags. i’ll literally pierce your skin if i press any harde--’
‘harder!’ he barked (for a joke) and you jumped from fright, instinctively pushing in more and increasing the pace of your hand
at this point, you were rigorously clawing at his back, on the verge of drawing blood which you could tell by his skin’s newfound crimson pigment
kageyama took it upon himself to lean backwards onto your nails to force you to go rougher as you had yet to ease his itch
then you let out a high-pitched scream so naturally, kageyama jerked away then peered over his shoulder to make sure you hadn’t like..died
‘what?!’ he asked, eyes filled with worry
‘blood!’ you yelled, pointing at his back before sprinting to the kitchen to get a tissue
kageyama’s gaze followed you until you were out of sight, then he lightly touched his back around the parts you were scratching and once he pulled his hand away, he noticed the blood which was now on his fingers
‘oh.’
the concerning part was that he didn’t even feel it tbh 🤔
anyway tanaka and noya probably coo ‘oooh~ lovebirds~’ when you come pick him up from practise
Tumblr media
Keiji Akaashi
bokuto heard some ppl whispering about akaashi & (y/n) in the changing room so he turned around to take a look at his friend then he noticed the scratch marks on his poor friends’ back
‘AKAASHI!! DID YOU GET MAULED BY A BEAR?!?!’ he screamed, grabbing the attention of everyone in the changing room and those who weren’t whispering about akaashi before, were definitely doing so now
akaashi smiled softly and shook his head, hastily throwing on his shirt and buttoning it up as he spoke, ‘no, bokuto-san.’
bokuto quirked a brow, wondering what could’ve possibly happened before his jaw dropped to the ground
‘is it ‘cause i patted your back a bit hard earlier?!?!?’
akaashi didn’t even bother to question how bokuto could think that a slap on the spine could lead to scratch marks and instead just replied normally, ‘no.’
bokuto was stumped once again- why else would his buddy have marks on his back? and why was (y/n) such a prominent name floating around in this changing room? doesn’t everyone know that she is taken by bokuto’s best-bro akaashi?
....
WAIT
bokuto’s jaw hung open once again as his soul left his body through an overdramatic gasp, before leaning in and whispering in akaashi’s ear, ‘wait- don’t tell me- you and (y/n)-’
akaashi’s cheeks tinted red slightly so he turned his head away while he pulled on his blazer, ‘no.’
bokuto let out a light sigh of relief, gently patting his pal’s back, ‘ah, good. but then, where did those marks come from?’
before akaashi even got the opportunity to open his mouth to respond, komi and konoha passed the pair, konoha patting akaashi’s shoulder and komi shot him a toothy grin accompanied by a thumbs-up, ‘get some, akaashi.’
then they walked off, konoha mubbling something about his chances with (y/n) being ruined
this left both bokuto and akaashi extremely confused
once all traces of komi and konoha were gone, akaashi proceeded to explain himself
‘backne is a horrible thing.’ he murmured, grabbing his satchel, slinging it over his shoulder before strolling out the changing room. ‘i’ll wait for you outside.’
and bokuto just stood there like (。_。) ‘what’s backne?’

Shinsuke Kita
atsumu had invited the whole squad back to inarizaki for one last game before coach kurosu’s retirement
after ages of arrangement, the whole team were able to make an appearance at the game - whether that be for 10 minutes or the whole thing
kita was able to stay for the whole thing
he was currently warming-up while chatting with aran before he was approached by atsumu, who was as lively as ever
‘mister rice farmer! it’s good to see you again!’ he sung, tossing his arm around kita’s shoulder and patting it in a friendly manner, ‘how’s life been treating ya?’
kita and atsumu somehow managed to make small-talk as if they hadn’t been apart for the last 6 years
‘me and my girlfriend have only been together for 6 months but i think i’m ready to settle down.’ atsumu mused, tapping his elbow before realising that he had been talking about himself for a while, ‘but anyway, i see that you and (y/n) are still going strong. haven’t y’all been together since the first year of highschool? that’s impressive! when are you gonna wife her up?’
kita perked up upon hearing that, ‘uh, yes. but how do you know that?’
atsumu couldn’t help but smirk, casually running a hand through his hair before motioning to the hickey on kita’s neck which was on semi-display, ‘right there, bud.’
kita looked down but unfortunately, his neck didn’t bend enough to see what atsumu was referring to
‘also,’ atsumu chuckled, slightly embarrassed about what he was going to admit ‘i saw the pic of her you put on your facebook.’
‘ah, okay.’ that one kita could understand
atsumu was about to open this mouth to say something but then the shrieking noise of the coach kurosu’s whistle rang through the gym room, indicating the start of the match
the game went surprisingly smooth tbh
minimal fights :o
but kita did get teased quite a lot smh
anyway, after everything was all said and done and everyone started to filter out the gym, kita rushed to the bathroom to check himself in the mirror and see what atsumu was referring to on his neck
once he took a look at himself, he frowned
just as he thought, a hickey - that’s embarrassing
it was clear you made an effort to place hickeys in areas that would be hidden though as the bruise was barely peeking out from under the collar of his jersey, atsumu just has a rather keen eye
however, that wasn’t going to stop kita from pounding you dry when he gets home - as a punishment ofc
kita was about to leave but he couldn’t help but stay and stare at himself in the mirror for a bit longer, recalling last night as he wondered at what point you bit those onto his neck
was it during the 2nd round? or the foreplay? or perhaps the 4th round? wait- no- definitely during aftercare cuddles!..or actually, maybe the 1st round?
in all honesty, he couldn’t remember
to him the whole night was a blur of pounding into you relentlessly, overstimulation, pleads for mercy, tears, passionate kisses and praise
with a sprinkle of daddy kink but let’s not talk about that
oh, and not to forget the way you’d call out his name just as you were about to reach your orgasm
or your sweet, lewd whines that echoed through the room when he thrashes against your sensitive spot
and don’t get him started on the cute little nicknames you have for him that squeal out through moans, like ‘daddy’, ‘master’, ‘sir’ etc
kita snapped out of his fantasies, letting out a sigh and about to exit the bathroom- until he noticed himself in the mirror out of the corner of his eye
he was hard
smh smh smh
now he was stuck between a rock and a hard place
(literally 🤠)
he could either potentially embarrass himself or cause an accident by walking to his car and driving home with a throbbing boner
or he could call you to help him jerk off in a bathroom stall
so he took a seat in one of the stalls - for the sake of the ppl he might run over if he did otherwise
he rung you up and thankfully, you picked up and you weren’t feeling bratty enough to deny him the help he needed so badly
although it wasn’t a very pleasurable experience since he was constantly on hyper-alert just in case the janitor walked in, at least he got a lot of nostalgia from it :))

hi!! i just wanna say i love your writings sm!! and umm,, is it okay if i request a scenario/headcanon of oikawa's reaction about finding out his gf who is sugawara's younger sister and sugawara's reaction finding out that his sister and oikawa is in a relationship? oh, sugawara found out when karasuno was first meeting seijoh for the practice match! if you dont mind doing this and i hope its not too confusing and too much;; ps. i really really really LOVE your writings! keep up the good work!!
Your Boyfriend’s Who? (Oikawa x reader)
the one in which Sugawara finds out his little sister is dating the star setter of Aoba Joshai~
--------------------------------------
“Suga! What did you do to make Y/N cry again?”
“What are you-?” The gray-haired setter narrows his eyes at your sniffling figure behind the back of his team captain, hanging his head before releasing a deep sigh when you grin, signaling they had been crocodile tears all along. Daichi continues to stare at him scarily with crossed arms as you tug on the captain’s sleeve “sadly”.
“I told her she had to sit in the stands and not bother those three on the lineup!” Suga juts his chin in the direction of said three as Ennoshita boos along with Narita and Kinoshita.
“Booooo, we already told you she wouldn’t bother us.”
“Y/N could always sit with me.” Kiyoko pipes up and your eyes glimmer with hope as Suga groans dramatically with a hand on his forehead as the team finishes unloading their stuff from the bus.
“Kiyoko please not you too-”
“The council has spoken!” Tanaka booms as he lift you up onto his shoulders, your fellow first years holding in their laughs at the look of dismay on Tsukishima’s face as passerbys ogle the team oddly.
“What are you even doing here?” Suga questions with an eyebrow arched, and you grin a little sheepishly as you rest your chin on Tanaka’s shaved head. Daichi palms his face, wondering why your brother wouldn’t ask that question as soon as he saw you on the bus.
“Um, when you asked mom to sign that paper excusing you from classes she signed one for me too-”
“Mom what-”
“She’s smart. Let her have this.” Tanaka sticks his tongue out as you mirror that action, and Suga groans as Daichi sends you a look saying don’t do it again.
“Sorry Suga-nii.” You mock pout at your brother’s defeat as Suga clicks his tongue, but says nothing as you all file into the practice court, your face blanching when you realize just what school you had snuck your way into.
“On second thought, I want to go sit in the stands with the rest of the audience-”
“What? No, stay- you gave everyone the trouble.” Suga scolds as he sits you down on the bench next to Kiyoko like a child. “Now don’t make even more.”
At your pout, Suga hesitates before kissing the top of your head and jogging off to the court. “Be good. Watch her like a hawk, Kiyoko.”
“Stop acting like I’m some sort of criminal!”
“You are a criminal.” Suga calls back as you deflate, Kiyoko giggling by your side as she tilts her head in question.
“Why would you want to go sit in the stands, Y/N-chan? Didn’t you want to watch up close?”
“That was before I realized what school Karasuno had a practice match with.” You look around nervously, deeming it fine as long as that certain someone took a hint and didn’t approach you during the match.
“What’s wrong with Seijoh?” Kiyoko questions further as you lean into her shoulder as the team begins warming up, and you let out a nervous chuckle before leaning in to whisper in her ear, cupping your mouth.
“My boyfriend goes here, and he may or may not be on Aoba Joshai’s volleyball team-”
“You have a boy-?!”
“Sh!” You put a finger to your lips, glancing around worriedly before nodding your head yes. “But I don’t think he’s dumb enough to come up to me-”
“Think? Suga and Daichi would rip him to shreds!”
“True, but I’d like to give him a smidge of credit.” You shrug, frowning in worry as Seijoh comes out onto the court, the bestfriend of your boyfriend raising his eyebrows in surprise as Iwaizumi stalls for a second.
You panic when Hanamaki and Matsukawa raise a hand to you in greeting, grins faltering when you make a cutting motion with your hand across your neck, waving it back and forth while mouthing you don’t know me.
Looks of realization pass the third-years faces as Matsukawa and Hanamaki laugh, Iwaizumi sighing and hanging his head while massaging his temple. You grin nervously as Iwaizumi sends you a message, tapping away on his phone.
Your team doesn’t know?
-Worse, my team and my brother don’t know.
You’re so dead.
-Where even is he?
Coming l8r.
-That’s good then, right?
Iwaizumi pockets his phone into his gym bag after scoffing at your message, shooting you a warning look like this won’t end well as you wave it off, the match finally starting after Karasuno finishes warming up.
You keep worriedly glancing at the entrances to the school as Hinata and Kageyama help pull a good lead over the opposing team, Kiyoko not being able to hide her hum of amusement.
“Scared?”
“Very.” You bite your thumb, noticing that the game was near it’s end before relaxing a little. “Maybe he won’t even play-?”
“Coach! I’m here!”
“Ooooor maybe not.” You sink in your seat, spinning around in the other direction to face away from Oikawa Tooru as Kiyoko lets loose a few more giggles.
“That’s him?”
“...yeah.” You cover your face in embarrassment as you wonder if this was the day your brother finally disowned you.
“He’s...a crazy good player.” You hear Takeda-sensei mumble, and you can’t help but glance behind you to see your boyfriend in action. To your absolute dismay, chocolate eyes met yours as you spin back around quickly, heart hammering in your chest after seeing that Oikawa had smiled immediately at the sight of you.
“...he saw you, didn’t he?” Kiyoko whispers as you nod, saying your prayers as the game finally ends. You flinch when Suga’s voice sounds behind you, the players all gathering around for towels and water as you sheepishly turn back around for the umpteenth time.
“What’s with you, oh wonderful sibling of mine?” Suga quips, handing you one of the few juices in the cooler as you laugh, a bit too loudly before poking the hole with the straw.
“Nothing. Good job win-huh?” Your eyes widen when you see that the score gap had been lessened drastically, Karasuno just barely pulling ahead by a few points as pride flutters in your stomach at your boyfriend’s doing.
“Ugh, I’m tired.” Suga collapses next to you, leaning his head on your shoulder as you go to shove him off.
“You didn’t even play-”
“Just shut up and let me sleep.”
“Y/N, what do you wanna eat-?” Daichi begins to question, before a voice so familiar sounds that almost has you running out of your seat, not prepared at all.
“You came with the team to see me, Y/N-chan?” Oikawa’s head pops up between Kageyama and Tsukishima, easy grin faltering at the sight of your brother’s head on your shoulder.
Oh this would not end well at all.
“Y/N...chan...?” Suga lifts his head, eyes questioning as he turns to you. “You know him?”
“I’d appreciate it if you weren’t so buddy-buddy with my girlfriend, you a classmate of hers?” Oikawa tilts his head, grinning with no kindness behind it as you put your face in your hands.
You can feel Suga’s burning stare as you escape to hide behind a sighing Kiyoko, the entire Karasuno team on edge as Sugawara rises to his feet, holding a hand out to your boyfriend with a matching grin.
“Try her brother.”
Oikawa’s face falls, and in any other situation, you would have laughed.
“You...have a brother?”
“You’re dating the setter of Seijoh?!”
“Ladies please, not all at once.” You attempt to joke, Tanaka the only one to throw his head back in laughter as Kiyoko stifles a laugh into her palm.
“Okay, yes to both of you.” You go to stand next to Oikawa with a sigh, looping your arm with his before offering a sheepish smile. The cat was out of the bag, anyways. “Everyone, meet Oikawa Tooru, my acquaintance-”
“Her boyfriend. Pleasure to meet everyone!” Oikawa corrects as you nudge him, the setter moving to interlace your fingers with his before pulling you to his side, eyes narrowing at the sight of Kageyama.
“Nice to see you again, Kageyama-Kun.”
You sigh at the fact that there was more tension between him and his junior than there was with your brother before swatting Oikawa in the side, him whining before pouting at you.
“Do you even love me?!”
“Of course I do...don’t. Of course I don’t.” You falter at the hardened gazes of both Daichi and Suga as Tsukishima whistles lowly, enjoying the drama as Yamaguchi nudges him in disapproval.
The silence that settles isn’t a pretty one as Oikawa chuckles a tad nervously, kissing your cheek before spinning on his heel.
“I’ll take you out after this-?”
“She’ll be eating with us, thanks though.” Daichi cuts him off as you groan, mouthing a yes behind his back before Oikawa’s lips stretch into a half-smile before nodding once to your brother. He waves backwards as he walks off to his team.
You smile in thanks to both Hanamaki and Matsukawa who were both sending sorry stares to you while Iwaizumi rightfully hit Oikawa upside the head for his stupidity, scolding him about telling him not to as Oikawa whines.
“So,”
You hide even further behind Kiyoko with a I can explain kind of smile fills your features as Suga crosses his arms, the entire Karasuno team looking at you in accusation. Your brother’s lips stretch into a kind smile as he tilts his head, Daichi and Kageyama crossing their arms beside him.
“You have a lot of explaining to do.”
“Before or after my date with my hot setter boyfriend-”
Needless to say, the surprise meeting between your brother and boyfriend from rival teams did not go over the team of Karasuno too well.

Haikyuu!! Karasuno HeadCannons
Head Empty, only Haikyuu!! thoughts, SO HERE WE GO, SOME KARASUNO HEADCANNONS~!
(Feel free to ask for headcannons for other schools in the show too. Or even more Karasuno ones)
- I personally like to headcannon that Daichi basically feels as if he's the only SANE person on his team. (Minus Suga, maybe.)
- Daichi's just arriving at the school, it's been a lovely, peaceful morning.
-but he knows that's about to end as he opens the doors to the Karasuno Gym
- Yup, he opens the door to see Tanaka trying to pick a fight with Tsukishima who pissed him off.
- Yamaguchi and Ennoshita have given up on trying to break up the fight are are off in the corner of the gym staring into space and debating their life desicions
-Hinata is on Kageyama's shoulders, speaking of Kageyama, once again he's trying to hit Hinata who keeps tilting his weight to stop him from landing hits.
-The peanut gallery is who knows where (Kinnoshita and Narita)
- Meanwhile Asahi's cowering behind Nishinoya from everything
- And suga...? he's...he's just so done, he's on the stage just drinking what's probably his 5th cup of coffee this morning.
-Daichi just lets out a loud sigh, here are the crackheads that he sees each morning.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The second years realized they could manipulate Tsukishima into doing things using Yamaguchi
- If they needed him to do something they simply had Yamaguchi ask him for them.
- For example, they're buying meatbuns but don't have quite enough, so they look to Yamaguchi who sighs.
- He turns to Tsukishima, "Hey Tsuki, do you have 200 yen by chance?"
- Tsukki grumbles and takes out 200 yen from his pocket, "No, why are you even asking me idiot?"
- It works nearly every time until Tsukishima catches on that they're using Yamaguchi to get him to help them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I ship Ennotana and Tanyoko (Or whatever their ship name is) but Ennotana is just far more entertaining for me.
- They were the biggest pain in the ass to get together.
- Tanaka kept on insisting that he liked Kiyoko and that he was straight when it just was not the truth
- it was PAINFULLY obvious how weak their tough left wing spiker was for Ennoshita
- Ennoshita was no better, "He like's Kiyoko there's no point." was the line they usually got out of him.
- He was so sure that Tanaka liked Kiyoko that he didn't see the point in trying.
- The Team get's rather tired of their constant dancing around each other and it was getting to the point where it was becoming an issue for the whole team
- They'd constantly get distracted staring at each other and it was affecting their performance in matches.
- They hatched a plan and had Asanoya talk to the two, Asahi spoke with Ennoshita while Nishinoya spoke with Tanaka.
- They lead the two to the same Cafe after convincing them to get lunch with them (Asahi had a slightly difficult time but he got it done.)
- While waiting for their food Nishinoya starts by getting Tanaka to talk about Ennoshita
- "Yeah, Okay, maybe I DO like him, but I don't think he likes me."
- The second Tanaka says this, Ennoshita turns around to realize that it was Nishinoya and Tanaka at the table behind him.
-Pure embarrassment ensues while Asahi quietly sips the tea he ordered and he and Nishinoya share the same accomplished smirks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I always have this idea of Sugawara being VERY overprotective of Hinata and on the occasion Yamaguchi
- When KageHina announced they were dating
- Oh god, if Suga hadn't been restrained by Daichi and Asahi
- He would have lectured Kageyama while shaking him around like a ragdoll.
- Kageyama had to swear to never hurt Hinata before his fellow third years could safely let him go.

It seemed to take forever to walk home after he separated from you, his hand raised to eye-level as he stared at the palm that held yours, the fingers that wrapped around yours, his body heat rising immensely. His wide eyes gape at the picture of your hand holding his, everything else leaving his mind as if it was never there in the first place. All his head was filled with was the warmth of your gentle hand in his, the way your fingers fit with his so perfectly- he felt as if it was on purpose, the way your hands molded together so neatly.
He shook his head trying to snap himself out of it, a trance that was rather difficult to break out of. He huffed, stuffing his hand in his pocket aggressively while turning to the lane of denial.
It didn’t mean anything. It wasn’t special. You’re a distraction. He didn’t need this. He needed to focus on volleyball, and volleyball only.
Furrowing his brows as he walks into his room, he sloppily sets his bag down before lazily piling on top of his bed, groaning in his pillow. Forgetting the events that had occurred earlier wouldn’t be easy, but… fake it ‘till ya make it, right?
He slugged his way into school the next day, his head throbbing and his eyes screwed shut while his fingers rub the sides of his temple. He didn’t want to see you, knowing you would want to talk to him about what had happened. He would avoid you, he planned. Running into you was not a good idea, even he would know that.
“Hey, Kageyama-kun!” He shuts his eyes and sighs in head while his mouth stays shut.
“Kageyama?” Every time you say his name it makes it harder for him to stay quiet; he suddenly felt bad.
Hello?” He could tell by the high tone in your voice you were worried, but he wouldn’t risk it. “Is it because of yesterday? Do you want me to forget about it? Because Kageyama, I really don’t wa-”
The glare he sent you made you take a step back, the sharpness of his dilated pupils carving through yours frightening you. He could tell you knew what he meant just by looking at your disappointed expression, your eyes suddenly droopy and your shoulders sinking. Once he saw your body disappear behind the wall that you passed, he whips his head forward, determined to stay on top.
His door slams shut once he enters his home, his chest heaving and his eyes gleaming red with his hands balled up into fists. How dare Hinata say that? In front of everyone, too? He didn’t do anything wrong! He doesn’t need this. Not from Hinata, not from you.
Then he remembered.
Your practice together starts in a couple hours, a few days left until your big game. He grunted in anger- nothing seems to go his way. He shouldn’t attend, he knew that. He didn’t want to go, he didn’t have to go. Yet, he felt obligated. He couldn’t say that you weren’t working hard for this and that you weren’t improving. He could say you suck, but that would be a lie. He had skipped his own practice, yet he was still finding time to go to yours. What turned him into this?
Arriving at the school once more for the day after he had calmed down, his feet finally picking themselves up and his head lifted as he walked through his castle. Before he opened the gym doors, he could hear the squeaking on the polish floors from your athletic shoes- you had already started practicing without him. Did you think he wasn’t coming? He walks through the gym doors, the bounces of the volleyball rolling away echoing through the large room as you plant your feet down, staring with wide eyes while you witness him come in.
Why was he here?
You could feel the dense atmosphere when he takes a couple steps towards the bench, setting his bag down.
“So…” he started awkwardly, “are we going to get started… or?”
“Uh,” you paused, shaking your head, “yeah, sure,” you rushed towards the ball cart, “yeah.”
“Okay. Toss me,” he commands. You nod in compliance before handing him the ball, waiting for him to pass it to you so he can watch you set. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as his eyes scan your technique. What the hell were you doing?
“What is that?”
“What?” You pause your movements, watching him march towards you with intent.
“That thing you’re doing, why are you doing that?”
“What are you talking about?” He grabs your wrists firmly, whipping them in the right place before taking a step back to observe.
“Do it again.”
You toss to him, and to you it was a perfectly fine set, it floated through the air and got to bullseye in a quick second. He didn’t seem happy, though, his demeanor turning more and more aggressive as he curses under his breath and acts like you’re a nuisance, and his attitude that had turned into venom stung you once he opened his mouth to speak. He wasn’t teaching you, he was being a straight up asshole.
You huff, frustrated. You confront him, walking up to him next to the net, dipping your head down as you size him up before glaring directly into his eyes. “What the hell is wrong with you today? First, you ignore me all day, then you show up to practice like nothing happened, only to be annoyed and irritated that I’m doing something wrong when I’m doing perfectly fine!”
“Fine! You’re doing fine!” He shouts, your head backing away. “You haven’t improved at all, you’re basically ruining your chances here!” His head leans towards your as he yells, his body towering. “If you’re not going to put in the work or be better, you might as well not play at all!”
Oh.
“I told you not to move your wrists like that, so why do you keep ignoring it? You need to listen to me! I’m teaching you! Follow my directions and maybe you’ll get somewhere!”
You did not want to show vulnerability towards him at this moment, you already feel down as it is; he insults your skills and then tells you you weren’t good enough and that you should stop trying. What a dick. He shouldn’t be making you feel like this. His opinion shouldn’t matter to you. A skilled volleyball player who teaches you how to be better telling you that you are not good enough just cuts a little deep, though. Like maybe… he was right. You did not deserve to be here, to be in the same gym as him, to have him teaching you, to even be talking to him or be in his presence. He was better than you in every way and there was nothing you could do about it. Your head hangs low- you can't help it. You didn’t want to be sad, but the steaming tears that well up in your waterline threaten to spill as you bite your lip.
“Are you even listening to me?” He continues to raise his voice; he takes a step forward as you back up, bringing your fingers to the bottom of your mouth as to fidget, turning your head away as he keeps yelling. “You can’t do it! I don’t even know why I came here! I should have known you weren’t going to pull through, it was like your skill had disappeared!” His voice seems to growl in anger as he pushes up against you, watching you fall apart.
You didn’t cage the whimper that escaped you, a tiny sliver of wetness crawling down your cheek at his aggressive conduct. You didn’t even hear the rest of his words as you screw your eyes shut, letting the tears break through like a dam while you block everything out. You didn’t even notice how there were people in the gym now, watching and shouting at Kageyama in protest, pushing him backwards as somebody takes you in their arms.
“Kageyama, what the hell are you doing? Shut up!”
“Get away from her, you asshole!”
“Y/n? Y/n, are you okay? Come here,” a soothing voice bleeds through, a voice you barely recognize. They place their hands on your head, pulling you towards their chest as they turn you away from the rest of the people in the room.
“You’re an absolute dick, you know that?”
“What’s wrong with you! Why would you say that to her?” The people kept yelling, forcefully taking him away as he got defensive.
“Stop- get off!”
“Shut the hell up, Kageyama!” You recognize that voice as Hinata, who screams at Kageyama to quiet down, who is probably two seconds away from just decking him in the face. Daichi holds him back by bringing his arms up and caging them around his biceps, forcefully bringing them up so he cannot use his arms or hands to use as he backs up out of the gym, the rest of the boys either going with Daichi or staying with you. Some just awkwardly stand there as who you can assume is Kiyoko holding you, Yachi bringing her trembling hand to place on your shoulder for what she hopes can identify as comfort. Yamaguchi stays close, a worried face plastered while he gazes fearfully at the situation, Noya and Tanaka having a shouting match with Kageyama as they storm away, Tsukishima, Ennoshita, Kinoshita, Asahi and Narita standing in the middle of this mess, observing and while half looks concerned, Tsukishima stays stoic, as if it was expected the King would do such a thing.
~.~.~.~
“Kageyama.” He grunts in response, turning away as he sits on a metal chair in the storage room, surrounded by his upperclassmen. “Kageyama.” He looks up in defeat, Daichi’s glare compelling him to follow unspoken directions, raising his head and preparing to be scolded. “Do you have any idea what you just did?”
“Listen, you little shit-”
“Tanaka, sit down, I think he gets it, look at him.” He turns his head to notice how sulky Kageyama looked. A shadow casts over his face as his hair dangles in front of it, his arms stay flat on his lap and his shoulders relax a little too much for comfort as his back slouches.
“Do you understand what you just did?”
He did. He very much did. He did what he knew in the very back of his mind what would be the absolute worst thing to tell you. He knew how you felt about yourself. He could see the frustration you pent up on the court, every fist you balled up, every huff or frustration and whip of your head when you made the tiniest of mistakes. He knew that you had no self-confidence. He knew you believed that if you were not perfect, then you weren’t good enough at all. He knew he just shattered your self worth, and after trying his best to help you piece it back together, all his attempts to give you compliments and tell you that you’re doing well and that you earned your place, he was doing a shitty job now. All he did in response was give a very hesitant nod, admitting his fault yet wanting to keep it to himself. Daichi sighs as he leans back against the chair across from him, crossing his arms as he watches Kageyama frown deeper. Tanaka eases forward, the role of ‘bad cop’ suiting him nicely while Nishinoya’s body is against the wall, just watching. Even Noya is disappointed.
“Then you know what you have to do, right?”
“Mm.”
“Good. Give her time, she needs it. You’re lucky none of us have punched you in the face.”
“Still debating,” Tanaka pops his knuckles as he glares at the dark-haired boy. Daichi moves to stand up, motioning for the rest of the boys to leave as well, before letting his body rest on the doorframe as he pauses.
“I know she means a lot to you, I can see it in your face whenever you look at her. I know you didn’t mean what you said, but you did, and you can’t take it back. When you apologize to her, you better beg.” He turns around to walk out before stopping again to face him. “Oh, and if I ever find out you do that again, consider your position lost,” he deadpans, leaving the room and shutting the door, leaving the darkness to consume Kageyama and his thoughts, letting his regrets and guilt float around in his nerves and letting it sink into his stomach.
He messed the fuck up.

Soo...
Lmao few things to point out about this last ep...
Firstly
👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
Wtf happened here.. his hair just oh god...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm convinced the person drawing this had a random sneeze attack
Tumblr media
And then was like
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like lol. Wth!
▪︎Also this 🤣🤣
They tried to give her Rin hair so bad.. that they failed... why is her bangs like that... and why did her hair grow???
Tumblr media
And this was irritating.... how could anyone possibly see her tears.. SHE'S FLOATING IN WATER!!! 😡
Tumblr media
☆ Sesshomaru left his children there knowing full well they wasn't ready for a battle with Kirinmaru.. he's the reason for Setsuna death.. which I didn't cry over cause you know towa is gonna revive her...
☆Sesshomaru brought back Zero.... then a few moments later was ready to kill her... what Sesshomaru... that was stupid.... and don't say it's cause she tried to kill his daughters... she been trying to.
☆ They show Towa "Demon form" in the opening
Tumblr media
But got a different look... and a diff. Energy color... like did yall forget??
☆Kirinmaru is fucking bipolar.... He gets mad that Setsuna cut him. Strikes and kills her... then... at the end of the fight... acts like he feels bad for killing her and says he'll carve her name in his heart... excuse me what???
☆ It's so funny that it's said they didn't wanna make the story about Moroha cause it'll be the same story again.. but then proceeded to make the story the same. Sacred jewels spread across the land. 7 pearls spread across the land... I... sigh~
☆Zero acting like she wanted her pearls... but didn't seem to care to have them at all...
☆Also another Kagura reference like yall playing games or what?
"Whether or not your life measures up to Setsuna, I'll find out." Towa
"Whether or not she died in vain, is for me to decide" Sesshomaru about Kagura
Like stop playing...
☆Rin has had more chances at life than anyone...
☆WTF IS UP WITH THIS PIN WHEEL. AND THIS child. They gave no explanation!!
☆I wish people would stop saying sesshomaru is such a good father and husband... he's not..
Also that Rin is such a good mother... (not saying she isn't.. even though she let sesshomaru just walk in and take them. ) but she hasn't raised her kids she's been stuck in the tree since their birth she's played no part in their life other than birthing them
My favorite part of the whole episode??
Finally happened. Moroha had someone with her 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I'm in love with this photo!
Tumblr media
Bonus..
We have RT saying that Sesshomaru and Rin relationship was pretty much parental/ Guardian... and the Narita Ken talking about Sesshomaru being so far from love.. 🤣 and that he didn't need to have kids.
Poor Inuyasha and Kagome get mixed up in this..
I think that's all I've come up with.. add to it if you want 😊
Sorry the show is just Trash. It earned its name as Trashahime..

SERENDIPITY
Tumblr media
(part - 4)
"Do you think Kageyama will come for practice?" Kindaichi asked, looking at his boyfriend, before he pulled a shirt over his head.
Kunimi shrugged.
"Exchange students have to attend the same clubs they participated in at their schools, so he has to come, right?" Kindaichi persisted.
"I don't know" Kunimi hissed, annoyed. He really didn't want to discuss this. Kageyama was....a touchy topic and he really wished that anyone from Karasuno had been the exchange student, but Kageyama. Heck, even the Shrimp would have been better than this.
The door to the boys locker room opened. The Seijoh Coach strode in, the exchange students behind him.
"Ok boys, this will be your locker room, and you will use the free ones. Feel free to ask me or any other students, in case you have any confusions"
Saying this, he exited the room, leaving the boys to get changed.
Kunimi and Kindaichi watched the crowd curiously, just like the other Seijoh players in the room.
Tsukishima was the first person to separate himself from the crowd and move around, searching for his locker.
Which happened to be right next to the one that Kunimi used. Both gritted their teeth, very much annoyed.
"Kageyama senpai! Our lockers are here!"
Kindaichi turned to his left to see a boy, first year by the looks of it, opening the locker just one place away from his.
"Where's mine...?" the low husky voice, had Kindaichi gasping sharply.
Two places away, Tsukishima smirked.
"Here senpai!" the boy said again, his pale blonde curls flopping over his grey green eyes. He really had too long hair for a boy, it reached almost till the nape of his neck.
As Kindaichi watched, Kageyama emerged from around the corner, his expression somewhat annoyed. He looked to where his junior was pointing.
Even as Kunimi turned around to face the Karasuno ravenette, the boy seemed to have grasped the fact that his locker was right next to his former team mate's.
Heaving a sigh, and looking more irritated, Kageyama spoke.
"Hey Kagari, swap with me"
The boy paused, looking at his senpai. Kageyama's face bore a look of irritation, but when you looked closely, thought Tsukishima, you could clearly see the tinge of despair and fear.
"Well?" Kageyama asked, raising one of his eyebrows in question.
The boy nodded.
"Hai!"
"Thanks Kagari, I appreciate it" he said as he opened his duffel bag, refusing to look into the eyes of his crushes.
Which was good, since Kunimi and Kindaichi's faces were a mixture of emotions.
The real show began when Kageyama took off his shirt. At least for Tsukishima. He saw how Kindaichi's eyes seemed to almost thirstily take in Kageyama's abs and muscular arms. Kunimi had shut his eyes in an attempt, not to do the inevitable and it seemed to be working, albeit with a little too much effort. It was getting difficult for the SaltBottle to refrain from laughing aloud at the antics of the Seijoh players.
"Hey King! Let's go. We're gonna be late"
Kunimi's eyes snapped open in surprise. Kindaichi whipped around to face Tsukishima. They didn't get how he was calling Kageyama 'King' just like that.
Kageyama shrugged. That was what Tsukishima always called him, no matter what. He didn't mind. It'd be weird if he called him by his last name or first name.
Plus, that name reminded him of his faults, reminded him of how he had been, and what he had lost because of his stupidity. It reminded him of his royal cruelty. And right now, it reminded him, that he had no right to fall in love with the two boys standing but one place away from him. Or another pair of setter spiker boys.
Nope. He'd extinguished that hope with his 'King' like attitude and his 'natural talents'.
Sighing heavily at his depressing thoughts, he banged the locker door shut and waited for the first year setter beside him.
Kunimi grabbed Kindaichi by his arm, indicating clearly that he had had enough of this.
"Let's go", he said in his usual quiet voice.
Kindaichi let himself be dragged, not glancing again at the King. But just as Kunimi was about to open the door, someone else opened it from the other side.
A boy with midnight blue hair and black eyes stepped into the room. He was a little shorter than Kindaichi, and as he entered, he almost knocked over Kunimi, who was standing just by the door. Kindaichi supported him, preventing him from falling.
"Warui warui!" the boy spoke up immediately, apologetic. "I really should have been careful. Are you okay?" he looked at Kunimi, concerned.
Kunimi nodded, he'd just been surprised.
Kindaichi fussed over him.
Kageyama, watching all this drama, felt melancholic, knowing well that he would never be the receiver of those caring caresses.
The boy ran his eyes over the room, before he spotted Kageyama. A grin lit his face as he called out his friend's name.
Kageyama looked up.
"Anzai!" he was surprised.
It would entertaining to see the King's former soldiers getting jealous, thought Tsukishima, lips curving into an evil smirk.
"Go ahead with him," he indicated at the bluenette, "we'll follow along"
Kageyama nodded. He was glad of any excuse to escape from the room. He grabbed his friend's hand and pulled him out of the room, hurriedly.
He didn't notice how angry Kindaichi looked or how Kunimi was biting his lip in his attempt to keep his sanity.
Tsukishima was cackling on the inside.
The poor soldiers! They sure don't seem very happy that the King's social skills have improved!
"So? Aren't you supposed to be with swim club?" Kageyama asked his friend.
Whenever he thought of the word, he felt warm tingles go through him. After the incident at Kitagawa, he'd really thought that he was incapable of being friends with anyone.
Yamato was a friend, but then he was Kageyama's childhood friend who knew him inside out. He also had an open mind and inextinguishable optimism, putting up with Kageyama, even when he was at his rudest. He had stuck by him through the whole King of the Court thing, making him precious. But his real best friend was Hinata and Hinata alone.
Or so he had thought.
Until the ginger head and Suga had talked with him seriously about the need to make more friends, from outside of the volleyball club. He'd been reluctant, the old memories resurfacing, and hadn't put any effort into it. That was when Hinata, in a desperate attempt to make him sociable, spilled the beans about his past to his class. He'd been so in shock at the act, that he'd almost gone into one of his panic attacks.
Although his past revelations made his classmates understand him more, and he had made friends with people like Rikka, the class Prez, Mei, Subaru, among others, his best friend remained Hinata.
Up until Anzai arrived.
He introduced himself quickly, quietly, hood covering his head. He sat next to Kageyama and had actually slept through most of their classes. He never spoke to Kageyama, even when he needed something. He just tried to figure it out himself or gave up quickly.
As Kageyama told Hinata, 'it's like I'm sitting next to my own reflection'
Hinata had laughed a lot at that.
"Why don't you try making friends with him then? You'd be quite a pair."
For a while, Kageyama had been silent. Then he'd asked Hinata very seriously, whether he was fed up with their friendship. Although he had spoken calmly, his heart had been beating fast.
Hinata had shaken his head and explained how Kageyama was going to have to get over his fear of making friends or getting close to people. Kageyama had felt touched at how much his friend looked out for him and had decided to follow his advice, although he was doubtful.
The next day he'd tried to talk to Anzai and had been successful, although both of them, it turned out were just very socially awkward.
After four more months, Kageyama, Hinata, Anzai, Yamato, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Yachi, Mei, Kumiko, had become the best of friends.
In that time, Kageyama had discovered that Anzai had a dare devil streak to him, once you got to know him really well. Anzai had discovered that although Kageyama and he had almost the same likes and dislikes, there was a huge difference between their temperaments. Kageyama got crankier faster, to no one's surprise. Anzai was the slightly more cheerful of the two.
Now the pair were really close and had been delighted when they had got assigned to the same school. Kageyama hadn't still told him about his crushes though.
"Hmm? Oh first day so no practice apparently" his 'friend' answered now.
"Wanna try spiking my sets?" Kageyama challenged, smirking.
The swimmer answered with a smirk of his own.
"Sure!"
As the two boys rushed into the gym, Kageyama glanced at the boy, racing beside him, blue wavy locks fluttering in the wind. For a moment, as he squinted, there seemed to be a ginger haired boy running by him.
"Look straight ahead idiot!" Anzai panted out, "or you'll f-fall!"
He looked ahead but he saw faces flash past in the back of his mind.
Hinata, Anzai, Yamato, Yamaguchi, Yachi, Tsukishima, Noya, Tanaka senpai, the two captains, Suga, Asahi, Narita, Kinnoshita, the new first years, Mei, Kumiko.
"I win!!" Anzai pumped his fist in the air.
Uncharacteristically for him, Kageyama nodded. Anzai looked at him, surprised. A soft smile came on Kageyama's lips, as he thought,
I may have lost a race, but I think I'm winning the marathon.

Boys vs. Boys — PART 1.
Tumblr media
PAIRING ~ prohero au! friends to lovers, Bakugou x reader ( x Yo Shindo)
GENRE ~ fluff, a little bit of angst!, jealously
WARNINGS ~ language! a tiny ~spicy~ joke inserted
WORD COUNT ~ 8.1k
SUMMARY ~ After more than a month being away in the States, you have finally returned to Tokyo...with a party more than one. And when Bakugou realizes who the extra person was, tension grows between him and ‘pretty boy dunce-face’ a.k.a, the one and only: Yo Shindo.
Tumblr media
[Bakugou] 10:35 a.m :
Text me when you arrive at Narita Airport, okay?
[Y/N] 10:41 a.m:
Of course :)
Bakugou leaned back on his chair in his apartment and read the text that you have sent to him yesterday, over and over again. In less than 30 minutes, you will finally arrive back to Tokyo after spending a month and a half in New York and LA for pro-hero work in the States.
Bakugou was never the type to be constantly checking his social media. He doesn’t even turn on his notifications because his simple rule was: if you had something to tell him, text him through Messages. Or just straight up call him. He doesn’t want to be spending time scrolling through Instagram, liking people’s outfit or food posts, nor did he want to retweet some silly tweet that Kaminari posted, complaining about how his neighbor’s cat hated him on a personal level. Bakugou had his own pro-hero work to do.
But today was different! And he had to be honest to himself, he was a little embarrassed to admit it. But ever since you texted him yesterday, he immediately turned on all his social media apps and now, he has spent way too long scrolling through your friend’s posts--hoping to know if there were any news of your arrival.
Bakugou grunted as he ruffled his blonde hair messily, feeling impatient that he hasn’t received any news about your arrival yet. He leaned over to his desk to grab his water bottle, but right before he unscrewed the cap, his phone vibrates loudly on his desk and he immediately dropped the water bottle and unlock his phone.
Finally! After so many weeks of you being away…you were finally here.
Closer to him.
Bakugou impatiently swiped right to unlock his phone and saw your message.
[Y/N] 7:56 p.m
At Narita, finally 🥴
His lips twitched a smile when he saw the emoji. Yeah, a 14 hour flight isn’t really the most comfortable, huh? He quickly replied back with his thumbs running with speed.
[Bakugou] 7:56 p.m:
How was the flight?
A few minutes past, no response. Bakugou shrugged, a smile still on his face knowing that you were safely here at Tokyo now, and in a few hours, he will be able to see you at the welcome-home party that Yaoyoruzu is preparing at the very moment in her godly-rich mansion.
But, before he rests his phone back on his desk, hundreds of notifications blew up on his phone and he checks his insta story to see what Mina, Uraraka, and Tsuyu posted. After all, they were currently at the airport picking you up.
Bakugou clicked on Mina’s latest insta story, his heart throbbed in excitement to finally see you until—
His face fell.
“I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW YOU TWO WERE DATING!,” Mina squealed in the short clip captioned: “I WAS RIGHT! @yaomomo u owe me $20 bucks 😘😘!” Her phone went flying everywhere which made the video awfully blurry. But Bakugou already caught it and oh, did he feel sour in the mouth.
You looked as beautiful as ever, with your simple yet stylish slightly cropped cream-T and gray sweatpants. Even though your eyes looked a bit dazed as if you had just woken up, you looked so cute to his eyes.
But what made Bakugou’s emotion shift so fast was not of you. Of course not!! How could he ever?!
No.
It was who you were walking with.
He clicked next on Mina’s insta story, hoping in that split millisecond it was not who he think it is. Not the person in his mind that kept bugging him after seeing so many headlines on the news of the two of you working together in New York and LA. It can’t be him, right?
Right?!!!
But Bakugou’s guts knew way fucking better. And his eyes grew angry when he saw the pro-hero, Yo Shindo, standing next to you. Wrapping you closely in his arms with a smirk plastered on his face. And you looked just as pleased too as Mina caught you laughing with Shindo so lovingly before running towards Mina with your arms wide open.
“Wow,” Bakugou heard Tsuyu gleefully whisper next to Mina. “He’s even more hot in real life! Why the hell can’t I find men like that?!”
“It’s a rarity.”
Bakugou heard Tsuyu scoffed playfully. “Tell me about it.”
Mina continued to wobble the phone, which makes Bakugou want to shout at the device on his hand to stop! moving! But alas, the next clip that was just posted 16 seconds ago, he saw you with your arms wide open, giving all your girlfriends a hug.
“Aw, I miss you guys so much!!” You squealed. Bakugou could no longer see “pretty boy dunce-face ” anymore but he knew he was with you and his stomach drop.
Ah, Yo Shindo. The pro-hero who study abroad in New York after high school for an internship at a country-famous agency, second best from Captain Celebrity (who was #1 hero in the U.S!), becoming a famous pro-hero in America.
And surely enough, when you flew to NY and LA to collaborate with Yo Shindo, news broke out nation wide in America about the two of you working together that even Japan starred the news on television one day. And those past weeks while you were gone, Bakugou had to suffer from all the pictures that the paparazzi took in New York and Los Angeles. And he admits it. He spent way too many nights awake, changing his VPN to U.S.A on his computer (thank you Kaminari for the tip!) to read and watch CNN, New York Times, and any other newsline that starred or mentioned you and Yo Shindo, hoping to grasp any updates about you.
But now you were finally here in Tokyo…with a party more than one. And as Bakugou closed Instagram, he closed his eyes to calm himself down aka, reassuring yourself that you and Yo Shindo were definitely no more than just friends…
Who spent more than a month together in the States…
And flew back to Tokyo together in the same flight…
Yeah…not helping.
Bakugou lifted himself off his chair and threw a towel over his shoulder, heading towards the shower to wash up before the party at Yao-momo’s tonight. But Bakugou’s phone buzzed once more and when he leaned in to check it, his heart did a little flip when he read your text.
[Y/N] 8:14 p.m
Not the very best 😔 a flight attendant and I had this argument because there was a seating error!
Bakugou relaxed a bit. He knew it was a little self-indulgent and selfish to feel this, and maybe it was jealously that was pouring over him, but he felt his nerves relaxed a bit knowing that perhaps you didn’t at all fell for that Yo Shindo boy.
Bakugou began to type back. Not an overly-top-gushy-pick-me-up text that he know that idiot Deku would type, but a nice and cool but sweet text to cheer you up from your bad flight. But before he clicked the sent button, he received another message.
[Y/N] 8:15 p.m
Thankfully Yo Shindo was there to help me out, he’s here in Tokyo too by the way!
Bakugou felt his stomach drop again. He backspaced his previous text and rewrote a new one.
[Bakugou] 8:16 p.m
Oh, that’s great!
He knew it was far from the truth as jealously crept up behind his back again, but he had to play it cool. He can’t be jumping into conclusions before he knows anything about the two of you!
[Y/N] 8:16 p.m
I’ll see you at Momo’s, right?
Bakugou smiled at the screen. Despite the news of pretty-boy dunce face in town, he still can’t wait to finally see you after so many weeks. Of course you have been keeping him updated through your texts every week, but to see you actually in person after so long…his heart couldn’t stop beating when he typed back.
[Bakugou] 8:17 p.m
Yeah, I’ll be there.
And with that, Bakugou finally rested his phone back on his desk and headed towards the shower, hoping to wash away all silly thoughts flowing in his mind.  Hoping that…when he sees you tonight, he is able to have an opportunity in the near future to tell you about the emotions he has been feeling ever since you left Tokyo last month.
With no distractions in the way—especially not that  pretty boy idiot!
—————
Okay so his previous plan came to a halt.
“Yo, Yao-Momo!!” Kaminari shouted as he hopped back onto the couch. He pointed behind him excitingly. “I didn’t know you had black custom-made toilets!!”
“Black toilets?” Kirishima asked, setting up the living room table with cups and beverages.
“Yeah! And there’s even a TV mounted on the wall above the bath tub. And OH! There’s “jacuzzi” mode in the tub! And there are speakers so you can listen to music and the mirror above the sink opens up to a—“
“So did you go pee, or did you just take a full-ass bath in my bathroom?” Yaoyorozu asked with her hands on her hips and sneered eyes.
Kaminari widened his eyes like a puppy. “I CAN TAKE A BATH IN YOUR COOL BATHROOM?!”
Yaoyorozu sighed as she placed two finger on her nose bridge, but Kaminari could tell that she was trying not to laugh.
“Food’s here!!” Yaoyorozu’s boyfriend, Yosetsu Awase, announced as he plopped down six pizza boxes on the table.
“Thanks babe for picking it up,” Yaoyorozu said before giving Awase a kiss on the cheek. She smiled happily at her boyfriend and when Bakugou glanced up, the two of them looked so good together that he couldn’t help but feel a sour in his stomach as he reflected back at the news he saw on Mina’s Instagram story.
Bakugou cleared his throat as he helped Kirishima set up all the props. “So…when’s Y/N getting here?”
Kirishima looked at him and when he saw his best friend look so curious and innocent, Kirishima’s eyes immediately lit up and he nudged Bakugou on the ribs even though he knew he may be dead meat from teasing him.
“You still like her, huh!” Kirishima said in a low whisper with a smirk, which almost caused Bakugou to light up his hands and slam Kirishima face down on Momo’s fancy wooden floors. But before he could even act, he heard the entrance door whoosh open with Mina’s voice echoing from the door to the main room.
“YOU OWE ME $20 BUCKS MOMOOOOOOOO!!!!” Mina shouted as she dragged you to the living room. When Bakugou saw you standing a couple feet away from him, he sucked in a breath.
You were still wearing your airport outfit that he saw you last on Mina’s post. But when he thought that you couldn’t look any more beautiful from the small screen on his phone, he was so wrong. As you stood there with a sheepish grin on your face—to Bakugou’s eyes— you were 10 times more prettier in real life. Hell, make that a hundred.
When you locked eyes with Bakugou after giving Kirishima a hug, you blushed before stepping towards him, about to do the same, until—
“Y/N!! YOU’RE FINALLY FUCKING HERE!!! I MISS YOU SO GODDAMN MUCH!!!” Yaoyorozu squealed as she ran over, cutting Bakugou from his hug. Bakugou had to back up before Yaoyorozu jumped over him and he was not happy about that. But when you let out an “oof!” and rested your shoulder on Momo’s shoulder, your eyes were still on Bakugou’s and you gave him a weary smile that said: “sorry!”
Bakugou couldn’t stay furious too long when he saw your apologetic smile as you hugged Momo back. He gave an appreciative nod at you that made you know that he was glad to finally see you back.
When Momo parted away, she blinked her eyes at Mina, who was standing right next to you with her arms crossed and a sly smirk plastered on her face.
Momo perked up. “Wait, I owe you $20 bucks?”
Mina widened her eyes and grabbed your arm, shaking it so excitingly that Bakugou swore she probably loosened all your bones now. “Bitch! You owe me $20 bucks when we bet on Y/N and Yo Shindo being together!”
You shot your head at Mina with eyes widened. “You guys bet WHAT?!” You asked so sternly that it made Mina and Momo tuck their hands sheepishly behind their backs.
“Well…” Mina teased, eyes staring at the ground as she drew circles on the floor with her shoe. “We kinda bet on whether you will get together with Yo Shindo when you were away…”
“We? As in just the two of you, right?”
Momo clamped the back of her neck embarrassingly. “Uh…plus Asui and Ochaco..?”
You gasped, shaking your head in disbelief. “You guys! I cannot believe—“
“That you love us too much for you to get mad at us?” Mina interrupted with such a cute smile that you parted your mouth for a few seconds and darted your eyes from Mina to Momo before dropping your hands and releasing a sigh.
“Fine…” you said, rolling your eyes but your lips lifted up to a smile. You extended your arms to your friends. “Come here you guys…Ya’ll are so lucky I haven’t seen you two for more than a month. Or else you’ll be dead meat!”
Your girlfriends ran in to hug you one more time, continuing their warm comments on how much they have missed you.
Yaoyorozu parted away when a thought came across her mind. “WAIT, Y/N, FOR REAL THO. Are you guys dating? .… Oh my god,” Yaoyorozu cupped her cheeks with her hands and blushed warmly. “Don’t tell me he’s actually here, is he?!”
Bakugou silently pleaded to himself that pretty boy dunce face is not here. Oh god, please let him have mercy!
“He’s here!” Mina squealed turning her head back to Yaoyorozu. “And he’s so cute in real life!”
Yaoyorozu clamped her hand over her mouth. “Oh my god. Yo Shindo. In my house.” She scanned the whole living room, making sure that everything looked fine.
“Uh. Your boyfriend. Also. In your house.”  Awase cleared his throat as he and Kaminari came back with paper plates.
Yaoyorozu walked towards her boyfriend and planted a sweet kiss on his cheek. “Of course you know I love you, babe. But Yo Shindo is here. That’s like…that's like having Brian the Sun come over to perform a song, y’know. We are all just fangirling!”
“We?” Bakugou sputtered out. Kirishima flashed him a smirk which made him roll his eyes and mutter out a “whatever”.
But no one heard him, because right after Bakugou’s comment, Tsuyu and Uraraka entered in with the man that Bakugou never thought he’d ever have to see since his pre-license exam during his first year in U.A.
Yo Shindo came in holding two pack of beers and bowed slightly with a celebrity-level smile that would have all girls swooning after him. He was wearing a Gucci shirt under a blue flannel, paired with ripped vintage denim jeans and a black beanie that made the bangs on his head scoot down just a tiny bit. His face mask was resting right below his lips and his whole aura screamed: “FASHION” in all the right places. But it wasn’t just his looks that demanded attention, it was also his aura of easy confidence that he held. And if he wasn’t a pro-hero, he’s the type of guy that would be easily mistaken as a supermodel.
His yellow Gentle Monster sunglasses were tucked in his shirt and Tsuyu and Uraraka giggled as they sat down the rest of the beers on the table and directed Shindo to do the same.
“Hey,” Shindo greeted everyone as he moved next to where you were standing which made Bakugou’s eyes squint just a bit. You nodded at him with a smile that made Bakugou want to twist his guts. “It’s so nice to meet everyone! Y/N talks a lot about you guys.”
“SO YOU REMEMBER US FROM THE LICENSE EXAM?!” Kaminari asked excitingly, almost jumping out of his seat.
Yo Shindo chuckled as he wrapped his arms around your waist, making you widen your eyes just a bit from his touch, but the look on your face didn’t really show any uncomfortableness—as if you were already used to it.
But oh, if only Bakugou shot lasers out of his eyes!! He would zap away his hand from your waist in a blink of an eye.
“Yeah,” Shindo nodded his head cooly. “You, Kirishima, and Bakugou are awesome!” He said looking at the each of them. Kaminari and Kirishima grinned appreciatively back. But weirdly, when Shindo’s eyes landed on Bakugou his gaze stayed a tiny bit longer than usual.
What? Bakugou mentally questioned to himself when he saw the way Shindo stared at him seriously. It was like he was challenging him, and there was a string of tension that only the two boys could feel and Bakugou already knew from the start that he and him were not going to get along.
Shindo blinked his eyes back to reality and flashed a friendly smile to you—a complete change of face for what he was expressing to Bakugou, but no one else seemed to notice. Shindo pulled you closer. “Well, let’s get this party started shall we?”
You nodded happily back and everyone began handing out plates and popping bottles of beer. Bakugou joined in too, with a grin on his face.
But although he smiled as he listened to you talk about your crazy adventures of that one creepy stalker you encountered in LA or how everyone must order the pastrami egg n’ cheese bagel at Frankel’s Deli in Brooklyn, Bakugou couldn’t help but feel a discomfort itch in the back of his mind as he saw you sitting on the couch with Shindo so closely next to you.
And whenever Shindo glanced at Bakugou, there was always this silent edge that he could feel from the look of his eyes. Unfortunately, in such a social environment, he couldn’t excuse himself with his best friend Kirishima to talk about this. Bakugou knew that people will question him. What’s there to be uncomfortable about in Y/N’s Welcome Home party?
So as Bakugou took another sip of his beer while you talked about your crazy adventures, he mentally crossed his fingers that you and Yo Shindo are merely just friends.
Even if a part of him told him otherwise.
————
“Wait, you two went on a date?!” Momo asked looking at Shindo as her back sat comfortably on the sofa with her boyfriend’s arm around her. “In New York?!”
Shindo smiled at you and laughed. You mirrored his expression and shook your head at Momo. “Well, it wasn’t really a date actually, it was just a tour around New York.” You said.
“Oh, please tell us!!” Uraraka said to Shindo with excited eyes. Shindo laughed and nodded happily, making all the girls put their full attention on what he had to say.
“Well, I first met Y/N in New York City. And after seeing her and her awesome abilities—“
“Oh please,” you said, waving your hand dismissively from that with an embarrassing smile.
Yo Shindo pouted adorably at you. “It’s true!”
Bakugou saw Uraraka and Tsuyu quietly exchanging each other glances that didn’t need much for him to know what they were thinking. And as much as it hurts his guts and heart to think about this, he couldn’t help it.
You and Shindo looked so good together. It was like those couples on k-drama or whatever the hell people were watching, where the audience knows that they are perfect for each other. And even though you hadn’t mentioned anything about him being your boyfriend and all…well, it was just obvious. Even your girlfriends could see it. And from the look of Kirishima giving him a lopsided smile as if saying “Ouch. Sorry bro.”  Bakugou could basically confirm his hypothesis correct.
But instead of wanting to just punch pretty boy in the face to release his anger (which, he wanted to do so bad) he kept his cool and restrained his emotions as he listened to Shindo explain this “date” that the two of you went on.
“Well, I offered to take Y/N around New York City, since she was new to the place on my motorbike and—“
“ON YOUR MOTORBIKE?!” All the girls (plus Kaminari) squealed. Awase tilted his head back to laugh at everyone’s reaction and Kirishima muttered a phrase that included: “dude, that’s so manly!” causing Bakugou to turn his head at him and shoot him a death dagger.
Kaminari—who by the way— is obsessed with motorcycles and dreams to own a Harley Davidson one so he could be as cool as Keanu Reeves, pumped his hand in the air and excitingly asked, “Yo, Shindo, what type of motorbike do you have?”
“The one I took with Y/N?” Shindo said, which meant that he had more than one. But the way Shindo said it wasn’t in an egotistic kind of way, nor was it annoying (which bugged Bakugou) but rather, he said it in a humble and polite tone.
Shindo glanced at you with a charming smirk on his face, as if remembering that precious time with you in New York. “It was a Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883! In black.”
“WHAT!” Kaminari slammed his beer down on the table. “C-can I have a ride?”
Ugh, an idiot I swear! Bakugou said to himself as jealously crept up to him once again as he saw everyone—even Kirishima—so engaged on Yo Shindo.
Shindo laughed again and nodded. “Sure! I actually shipped that one to Tokyo since I’ll be staying here for a while.”
Mina lifted her eyebrows at Shindo. “You’re staying in Tokyo?”
Shindo shook his head. “I’m just staying here for a couple of weeks for some pro-hero work. I’ve been away so long and I wanted to come back since I realized I missed Japan so much. And a friend of mine offered me to collab with his agency for now!”
Bakugou let out a puff of air as Uraraka gleefully smiled and said, “Wow, that’s so great to hear!”
And so the conversation continued. After Shindo took you around on his motorbike, he took you to this fancy, romantic restaurant down in Manhattan, and then took you around Central Park when evening came. And during this whole conversation, everyone pitched in their squeals and glees here and there, but Bakugou remained silent the whole time. You laughed at Shindo’s jokes and descriptions and added a story on how clumsy he actually is, despite his cool exterior.  And Bakugou grew slightly more furious—but it wasn’t a challenging kind of anger. It was just that it frustrated him that he couldn’t point out, or find, any particular ”flawed” that Yo Shindo had.
As the conversation moved along from one to the other, Yo Shindo offered to help Awase and Kaminari to clean up the empty pizza boxes. Kirishima and Bakugou offered to help as well, recycling empty bottles away and folding paper plates to the waste bin.
And as Bakugou walked across the living room, picking up the last few empty bottles of beer on the side table of the couch, he heard you and your girlfriends lowly whispering.
“Well?! “ Yaoyorozu questioned curiously, patting your knee. “Did you…you know!?”
“What?” You asked curiously.
“You know…Yo Shindo…vibration quirkkkkk,” Tsuyu moaned as Uraraka and Mina nodded in agreement, eyes clearly swooned away by Shindo.
Tsuyu grabbed your arm and stared at you dead deep into your eyes before glancing to where Shindo and the other boys were at in the kitchen. “Please tell me what happened! You two obviously hit it up, right?!”
Bakugou wanted to throw up right then and there. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to hear what you were about to say next. And as much as his conscious tells him to “WALK AWAY KATSUKI”!!! Curiosity killed the cat as he watched you in the corner of his eyes while he cleaned up the table slowly to the side.
You covered your face with your hands as embarrassment crept up on you and squeezed your eyes shut.
“I KNEW IT!” Uraraka said in a low whispered as she snapped her fingers.
Bakugou’s stomach dropped and his jaw tightened in grit.
“Guys, no,” You whispered sternly back, but your cheeks still glowed with heat. “Nothing happened between me and Shindo.”
Bakugou eyes widened as he darted his attention back on the table. Wait a minute… there is hope! A wash of relief swept through him when he heard your reply, but his happy thoughts immediately crumpled when he heard Mina’s suspicious tone.
“Sureeeeeeeee,” Mina exhaled a puff of air sharply—not convinced that you were telling the truth. “I can see it in your face that that’s a LIE!”
Bakugou knew it would be wrong for him to continue hearing this (wrong in a sense that if you were just hiding the true secret, he may blow the roof off of Momo’s house, and that wouldn’t be appropriate). Plus, who the hell takes 5 goddamn minutes to clear up some trash?!
So, with all his might, Bakugou bravely walked around the couch, passing you and the girls as he headed towards the kitchen. And when you saw Bakugou walk pass in front of you, you silently let out a gasp with a parted mouth shaped as an ‘o’ on your face.
————
After the party was over and it was getting pretty late, all the girls decided to finally head home. They offered you to join them but you passed appreciatively by saying how you had to thank and Awase and Momo for everything and Awase was still in the back, cleaning a few things up, while Momo had some errands to run.
“How do you not drink Momo-Yaoo!!” Mina said as she threw one arm around Momo’s shoulder.
Momo sighed but a smile graced her lips. “Cuz I know I’ll have to take you guys home!” She said sternly but sarcastically.
Mina gave Momo a “thank you” hug and you and the girls laughed
“Since you’re finally here, we all have to go to that tendon place in Shinjuku!” Tsuyu announced happily, giving you one last hug before heading out.
“Tendon Tuesdays are definitely back ya’ll!” You laughed happily and all the girls hovered above the two of you, joining in for one last group hug as they shared “I love yous” and goodbyes.
“You guys are acting like I will be leaving again,” you laughed when you all pulled away and saw your friends getting teary.
Mina smiled softly. “We’re just happy you’re finally back.”
And after Mina said her sweet comment, Uraraka wailed a “You GUYSssssssss!” in a sarcastic tone and everyone bunched up together again for another group hug as they wailed their hearts out.
Bakugou walked in and saw all the girls form into one ball and he couldn’t help but grin at the sight. Yeah, he was so happy that you are actually in Tokyo.
After more “text me!” and goodbyes, the four girls exited out the door and you stood in the living room by yourself, cleaning up the last few trash on the table for Momo.
This is the time. Bakugou said to himself as he began to walk towards you. Nervousness crept on his neck which was unusual for him since you were one of his closest friends. Kirishima and Kaminari headed back to their places and before Kirishima exited, he gave one last talk to Bakugou.
“Dude, you don’t even know if she’s with him yet,” Kirishima said outside the front gate. “Maybe they’re just friends!”
“Just friends?” Bakugou repeated slightly icily—almost like a scoff. He tucked his hands in his pockets and shook his head. “I don’t know, man. You see it too though.”
Kirishima stares at his friend and bit his lip, knowing that from the way Shindo has been treating you and all the stories you two of shared together, it looked like you two were together. Sure! Maybe you two were just friends, but Bakugou felt like it was highly unlikely. Plus, you were exchanging whispers with your friends and from the look on their faces, it was like something exciting was stirring up.
“Yeah,” Kirishima finally said. “But still…we don’t really know. And now that everyone is almost gone, now’s your chance to finally talk to her in peace!”
And with that in mind, Bakugou walked towards you in the main room.
“Hey.”
You looked up from the table and widened your eyes. “Bakugou! I thought you already left with the other boys. You’re still here?” You asked. But you immediately blushed and waved your hands quickly when you realized how wrong that sounded out your mouth. “Not that it’s bad that you’re here! I didn’t mean that. I’m happy you’re still here!”
Bakugou laughed, his shoulders relaxing as he looked at you with a smile. You laughed too at your own dumb act and the awkward tension was slowly replaced with a comforting one.
“You really don’t wanna see me, huh?” Bakugou teased with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes. “You know it’s not like that.”
Bakugou grabbed the back of his neck and locked his eyes with you. You hummed curiously, knowing that he wanted to say something.
“Y/N, I just wanted to say that I’m really glad that—“
“Y/N!!” Shindo’s voice echoed from the back kitchen. He waved his arm excitingly with a bright smile but then paused when he saw you and Bakugou standing in front of each other, alone.
Ugh! Bakugou thought to himself as he saw Shindo’s face grow slightly tensed when he looked at him.
Shindo walked towards you respectfully with a smile. “Hey, I know it’s pretty late. Do you want me to take you home?”
Bakugou parted his mouth opened for just a bit. His anger and jealously was rising high now and he wasn’t sure why.
“Oh!” You said, turning your head to Shindo. “No, it’s fine, really!”
“You sure?”
You smiled at him. “Yeah, thank you though.”
“Well then,” Shindo turned to Bakugou and then back to you. His gaze turned serious. “Can- Can I talk to you in private for a moment?”
You opened your mouth and directed your hand towards Bakugou. “Oh! Bakugou was actually talking—“
“It’s fine, Y/N” Bakugou said in almost a strict tone that your face fell a bit. He nodded his head at Shindo and then smiled at you, telling you that it really was okay. “It’s not important, really. Actually…I think I’m going to head out.”
“Bakugou, wait—“ you said, your eyes staring directly at his.
“Y/N,” Bakugou tried to laugh. But you knew him too well that the laugh was forced. “Seriously, we can chat again later some time. Plus, since you’re back, we can finally hang out like we used too.”
Shindo glared at Bakugou sternly after he said that, but at this point Bakugou couldn’t care anymore.
You paused and stared at him before mumbling out an “okay” as Shindo turned and pulled you away from him.
And after letting Awase know that he was finally heading home, Bakugou exited the door and walked towards the front gate. He tucked his hands in his pockets and felt his heart grow heavier and heavier until—
“Katsuki! Wait!”
Bakugou twirled around to see you extend your arm up high out the front door. You ran towards him and put your hands on your knees to gasp for air.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to call you so directly.” You said apologetically.
Bakugou shook his head, but his heart skipped a few beats when he heard you call his first name. “It’s fine. You can call me that.”
You widened your eyes and hugged yourself closely. “Oh?” You smiled. “Okay then.”
“Uhm…did you need to tell me something…or..?” Bakugou asked curiously, internally wondering why you suddenly exited out of the house.
“Oh! Right!” You tapped your head dumbly. “Right….I- I actually wanted to say goodbye to you and-”
“Weren’t you just talking to Shindo?” Bakugou pointed out so cold that your face immediately fell when you heard his sudden shift of tone.
“Um-”
“Sorry.”
“No! I- I actually need to apologize for that. I should have spoken up more. We haven’t…really chatted during the party.”
Bakugou scoffed and smiled as he tilted his head up towards the night sky in silence. He was so furious just a few seconds ago that any one who dared stopped him will be blasted off to space. But when he heard you call his actual name, he felt more at peace. But sadness lingered in his heart as he darted his gaze behind you at the door, knowing that Shindo was in there.
From the door entrance to the front gate was a large garden in between, and when you realized how quiet it was, you cleared your throat and looked up at him.
“We’re not together,” you finally said.  “I mean, Shindo and I.”
Bakugou’s eyebrows shot up immediately but quickly replaced his shock look with a calm one.
Wait…what?
“Oh…?”
He blinked his eyes and parted his mouth slowly, carefully thinking about the words before saying them out loud. “But Mina and them—“
“Kept teasing about the two of us being together? Momo kept throwing us questions about our quests? All the girls teasing and the “date”?” You said in air quotes with a smirk. “Shindo is really nice and he’s like that to almost everyone, really. Plus…”
You stopped, glancing up at Bakugo and then turning your head away. Heat crept up to the apples of your cheeks as you continued. “Plus, there’s someone else…”
Bakugou’s mind buzzed with clouds as he felt like a a horde of demons was ready to swallow him up.
There’s someone else.
It can’t be him, right? Bakugou’s shoulders fell and frowned a bit. How could he be so stupid thinking that you actually liked him in the first place? Could it be…Kirishima? Kaminari? Oh fuck, maybe it’s Deku. His mind continued to swarm with possibilities of the “someone else,” casting more and more doubt onto himself until he heard your laughter.
You clenched your arms around your stomach and laughed. A beautiful melody that never ceases to amaze Bakugou. It was like a warm breeze in the summer swooping him away. But Bakugou lowered his gaze with confusion as he stared at you. “What’s so funny?”
You looked up, wiping a small tear on the corner of your eye with a bright but soft smile on your face.
“It’s you, dumbass.”
Under normal circumstances, anyone who called him that will immediately turn into dust, but with you… He couldn’t even get riled up an inch. Because when he heard those words left your mouth, it was like fog clearing up on a raining day, a heavy weight now off his shoulders.
Wait…is this really happening?
A cunning smirk graced his lips as he stepped closer to you.
The cool evening air no longer felt cold and you grabbed his hand pulling him closer. It was dark but he could still see the perfect outlines of your face.
“Really?” Bakugou whispered huskily above you, not sure if he was dreaming or not. Excitement buzzed throughout his body, his focus entirely on you.
You laughed with a happy smile on your face. “Really.”
Bakugou smirked cockily. “Well, then dumbass…I’m glad… because I like you too.” He said slowly in such a cute way that it made you giggled.
“I’m glad then.” You said quietly.
“Do you… want to go grab lunch someday…?” Bakugou asked, the words rolling off his tongue seemed so foreign to him. Everything happened so fast but it felt so nice at the same time.
You nodded your head still smiling. “Yeah…that sounds nice. Though I want your homemade curry, I’ve been craving Japanese food for so long and New York and LA doesn’t even beat the meals that you make!”
Bakugou laughed, his heart feeling so overwhelmingly content. “Well then, I’ll bring you some food tomorrow. You’ll be jet lag and all.”
You groaned cutely. “Oh god, yeah. I’ll probably be sleeping all morning tomorrow. But at least I’ll have something to look forward to when I wake up.” You smiled.
Bakugou nodded, and you pulled him into a hug that surprised him at first but he wrapped his arms around you ever so gently and warmly. The two of you just wrapped in each other’s arms for a few seconds, enjoying the quiet night that Bakugou wished could last forever.
“I’m glad you’re back, Y/N.” He whispered softly in your ear that made you shivered with happiness. “I…I’ve missed you.” He added ever so quietly in a way that it sounded like he was talking to himself. But you still heard those words and it made you hug him a bit tighter.
You tucked your head into his shoulder and whispered out a soft “me too.”
When the two of you parted away, you both exchanged goodbyes once more, but this time, there was a layer of love and excitement in the air. Bakugou glanced at the door behind you, and the sudden reminder of Shindo who was still in there came to mind. Bakugou has never felt so happy in his whole entire life, knowing that you had the same feelings he had for you. But seeing the shadows on the windows, the sudden flash of Shindo’s disapproving face re-resurfaced. He had a feeling that you didn’t know that Shindo actually liked you. And sure! He only met the guy today but his gut instincts knew better that the faces he gave to Bakugou plus his expression whenever he looked at you, it was something more than just a friendship. But before Bakugou could even dive deeper into this thought as he turned towards the gate, you stopped him.
“Katsuki—! Wait.” You called, causing him to turn his head once more at you. But before he could even ask what’s wrong, you slipped a hand through his and stepped on your tippy toes as you planted a warm kiss on his cheek, holding it there for a few seconds. Bakugou widened his eyes for a quick second, and just like magic, that kiss washed his doubts about you and Shindo down the drain. It was like a message that you were his—as dominating as that sound. But it nevertheless made him less tensed.
You swallowed a lump on your throat as you parted away. A little embarrassed at your sudden move but when you saw Bakugou’s face glowed, you smiled and nodded. Words didn’t need to be said for the two of you to understand each other.
“Have a goodnight, okay? Drive safe.” You waved before turning your back to return to the house.
“Yeah,” Bakugou smiled as he tucked his hands into his pocket, turning to the front gate once more. “I will.”
And with that, the two of you parted your ways, with bright smiles and warm hearts that continued to simultaneously flow in the air.
—————
“Cuz I know I’ll have to take you guys home!” Shindo heard Momo from the living room said as he carried the trash bags into the kitchen.
“Uhm.., where should I place these?” Shindo asked Awase who was washing a few cups in the sink.
Awase pointed at the corner besides him where all the other bags were laid. “You can leave them here Thanks, man.”
Before Shindo nodded respectfully at him, he heard you and the girls burst out into a loud laughter, making him turn to the direction of the sound coming from the main room. His eyes softened, as if reminiscing precious memories from a time. And in all honestly, his attention was just focused on your laughter. The melody that he can always listen to and never get tired of.
Shindo had never believed “love at first sight.” But when he first saw you in New York, his heart bloomed in a way that he has never felt before and he was so interested in you ever since. Of course, he kept cool about it, but since he was such an open and honest guy, he always slipped in a move here and there, hoping to grab your attention or sneak in hints, to show that what you meant to him was in a way that was more than a friend.
After cleaning up, Awase takes a sip of his beer, glancing at Shindo’s still turned-head for a moment before saying, “You like her, don’t you?”
Shindo looked stunned as he immediately shot his head back at Awase. His heart pounded in his chest when he heard the question. “H-how did you know?”
Awase smirked. “I know that feeling, dude. That’s how I felt when I met Momo,” He said, tilting his head towards the living room where his girlfriend was.
“I don’t want anyone to find out,” Shindo said quietly as he rested his elbows on the kitchen island across Awase.
“Of course. This is just between me and you.” Awase replied respectfully, knowing what Shindo is going thorough, having a similar experience himself.
Shindo smiled at him appreciatively. He cleared his throat. “And uhm, I know that we just met and all…but do…do you you know if Y/N is involved with anyone—like, romantically?”
Awase pondered on that comment seriously for a moment. “I don’t really know, man. I think Kirishima and the others will know since they were all in the same class as her since U.A. But…from what I’ve heard from my girlfriend, I don’t think so.”
“Not even, uhm, Bakugou?” Shindo slid in the question curiously.
“Y/N and Bakugou!?” Awase laughed. “I’ve never heard of that before! Who gave you the idea?”
Shindo just shrugged, not wanting to say why he asked. Ever since the day he accidentally saw your phone lock screen of you and Bakugou in your days in U.A when your phone dinged on his table, his suspicion arose. Of course it wasn’t much, but the way you talked about him was different compared to the others…
“Hey,” Awase said, interrupting his thoughts. “From what I’ve learned… you can wait to get the answers, or just be honest with her.”
“Be honest with her?”
Awase shrugged. “Yeah. In fact you can even tell her how you feel now, most of her friends are returning home now.”
Shindo nodded appreciatively at him and smiled. “Thanks man, really.”
“You got it, and don’t worry,” Awase reassured when he saw Shindo’s mouth open again. “I’ll keep things low-key.”
Shindo smiled again and walked back towards the main room to find you. Awase was right. After all that you two of been through for the past couple weeks there was a new foundation built upon your friendship—trust. And he trusted you that you can at least understand his feelings. Shindo knew he told everyone that he came back to Tokyo for a change of environment and for hero work…but that wasn’t necessarily the entire truth. Because in all transparency, he came back for you too…and maybe its because he has loved working with you, or maybe it was the way you described Tokyo to him in New York made him really miss home…
Or maybe it’s because he was falling in love with you.
Shindo made his way to the living room and called out your name, but his high emotions toppled over when he saw you standing with Bakugou in the now empty living room, alone.
He doesn’t really hate Bakugou, but ever since he had his suspicion, he couldn’t look at him the same way. And sure, it may be unfair of him to act like that but when he saw the way Bakugou locked eyes with him, he knew something was up that confirmed his suscpisoun. He could feel this unprecedented tension in the air between him and Bakugou—almost like an undeclared challenge.
Shindo mustered up the courage as he walked towards you with a smile. “Hey, I know it’s pretty late. Do you want me to take you home?”
“Oh!” You replied when you noticed Shindo. “No, it’s fine, really!”
“You sure?”
You smiled at him which made Shindo’s stomach flutter with butterflies. “Yeah, thank you though.”
“Well then,” Shindo turned to Bakugou and then back to you, hesitating just a bit about his next act act. His gaze turned serious and he lowered his voice so almost only you could hear him.  “Can… Can I talk to you in private for a moment?”
Shindo saw you opened your mouth slowly. “Oh! Bakugou was actually talking—“
It’s fine, Y/N” Bakugou cut in, looking at Shindo and then back to you. “It’s not important, really. Actually…I think I’m going to head out.”
“Bakugou, wait—“
“Y/N,” Bakugou continued. “Seriously, we can chat again later some time. Plus, since you’re back, we can finally hang out like we used too.”
Shindo glared at Bakugou. He felt his heart ache when he heard that, knowing that the two of you are pretty close. But finally when you agreed, you and Shindo stepped aside for more space.
You turned your head at Shindo and noticed his serious expression. “Is there something wrong?”
Shindo blinked his eyes and cleared his throat. “N-no! I mean, not anything super important. Actually, Y/N… I just wanted to—“
Click!
Before Shindo could continue, your head shot to where the door was just closed and you saw Bakugou’s shadow exit out of the house. Shindo saw you turned your head back towards him as you bit your lip.
“Shindo, I’m so sorry. Can you give me a few minutes really quick?” You said with the kindest smile you had.
Shindo looked at you with a tinge of solemn in his eyes as he smiled. His gut feeling knew what you were about to do, but he didn’t want to force you to listen to him and so he smiled and nodded, earning you a brighter smile on your face that Shindo loved.
“Thank you.” You said as you grabbed his hand and giving it a squeeze.
Shindo saw you run towards the door, not hesitating a bit to open it immediately.
And when you exited, Shindo gave out a sigh. This was a lot harder than he expected. He headed towards the table near the door to pack up some of his things that he laid near, but his mistake was when he glanced up at the window.  His eyes widened and sucked in a breath when he saw you standing near the front gate with Bakugou.
It looked like it was all happening in slow motion.
The way you slipped your hand through his. The cute way you leaned in closer a few inches with the tip of your toes and kissed him on the cheek.
It wasn’t an actual real kiss, but still...Shindo felt a surge of jealously come crashing down on him. He swallowed a lump in his throat as a mixture of anger and sadness stirred in him. And as he saw you wave goodbye to Bakugou, Shindou looked away in sadness as his stomach dropped and his once cool smile now turned into a deep frown.
He felt like he lost you — even though he never really had you in the beginning.
But maybe there’s still a chance for him to confess how he feels.
Because even if you don’t share the same feelings as him...he’ll still find release… that at least the person he loves …. knows.
Yeah… Shindo thought to himself quietly as he pulled out his sunglasses, getting ready to leave. He knew he couldn’t say it now…not after what he just witnessed. So with a sharp glide of his hand like a professional, he slipped on his sunglasses and beanie ever so smoothly and picked up his bags.
I’ll come back to you Y/N…you’ll see.
-------

“hitoka-chan! someone’s looking for you.“
surprised at the news of someone looking for their shy younger manager, the team collectively move their heads to look at the gym’s sliding doors and see a female student taking off her shoes just outside of it. one of her hands rests against the doorframe bent slightly at the elbows to stabilise her body as the other picks up her shoes by the back of it.
you step into the gym with only socks on, moving quickly to bow at the team members and approach the new manager.
in the middle of the duo’s spiking practice, hinata and kageyama both stop and turn at the sound of your voice. the familiar sound of their usual bickers and running, jumping and whatnot go mute, and slowly, the normally loud and slightly deafening volume of karasuno high school’s second gymnasium goes quiet.
“are you guys okay?“ daichi asks as he approaches the first year duo. ”why’d you two stop?“ the captain didn’t get an answer from them; instead, they continued to stare at the guest by the front portion of the gym.
“is this...“ hinata murmurs, blinking every couple of seconds, his face is unmoving and stock-still. “...my chance?“
what? chance? daichi wonders. what chance is there for—
before his mind finishes the thought, hinata dashes towards the guest, and kageyama follows suit right after, sharing the same braincell thought with his partner. they both bow deeply and introduce themselves loudly before you.
“i’m hinata shouyou!“
“kageyama tobio!“
“please tutor us!“
ahh, must be an honor student. the team, who are all now just standing still, looks over to see what the commotion is about; they can’t hear the conversation from the other side of the gym, but they see you wave your hands in a rapid  dismissive manner, most likely overwhelmed with the sudden appearance (and, quite frankly, the sheer aura) of these two.
“i’m tutoring a few students at the moment so i can’t right now, i’m sorry.“ hinata’s and kageyama’s shoulders droop dramatically, their disappointment clear to anybody with how the air around them seemingly became cold and depressing. “but... i’m free during breaks, so feel free to visit! oh, and i can give you copies of my reviewers for the upcoming exam!”
the two first years bowed deeper and thanked you profusely, sending you to another wave of overwhelmingness. the rest of the team, still in the same spots as they were before, only look at the scene with mixed reactions, staring in silence as they watch you try to make hinata and kageyama lift up their heads.
“i think i’ve heard of her,” tanaka suddenly speaks up. the team turns to look at him. ”someone was talking about this really kind and angel-like first year, gives away reviewers, tutors other people, helps out with others’ homeworks, stuff like that. no one mentioned that she’s really pretty, though.”
“ryu!“ nishinoya shouts suddenly. “we can only focus on kiyoko-san!“
“but they’re different!“ tanaka argues. “kiyoko-san is cool and beautiful! obviously, we’ll follow her forever!”
daichi steps up to forcibly make hinata and kageyama stand up straight, apologizing for their actions as their captain.
“it’s fine,“ you laugh slightly, bowing your head and thanking him for his hard work. “i’m hitoka-chan’s classmate! i’m here to return something to her, actually.“
“[name]-san!“ yamaguchi greets you as he jogs towards you, a smile on his face and his hand already up in the air in the form of a wave. he comes closer, and you jump up to reach his hand to high five it before he tries to heighten it further up where you can’t reach it anymore.
“i touched it!”
“i felt nothing, though~“
“yama-kun, that’s a lie!“
t.. they know each other? once again, the team is in a state of shock and silence as they see another usually shy teammate act differently. it’s rare to see yamaguchi being the initiator in teasing someone (as he’s always with tsukishima), much less being so... vocal and energetic and expressive.
“that makes it my third win this week!“
“sure thing, [name]-san~“
“say,“ asahi mumurs onto the rest of the team who never left their places. “is she... y’know... maybe... yamaguc—“
“oi,“ tanaka interrupts the small group of gossipers as he clamps a hand down sugawara’s shoulder, shaking it back and forth while keeping his eyes on the scene up front. “even tsukishima knows her, damn it!“
immediately, everyone looks back to see the most unlikely member of the team taking to someone else without glare on his face, not even a hint of irritation. in fact, whatever he says has you and yamaguchi giggling, while hinata and kageyama puff up with flames of petty anger.
well, daichi thinks to himself as he overhears tsukishima mock the other firstyear duo for begging you to tutor them in front of everyone else. guess we learn something new everyday.
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ☼ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
you return a week later to the male volleyball club’s gym with a paper bag on one hand and a large plastic bag on the other.
“she told me to give this to you,“ the team overhears your conversation as you approach the tall blonde. “it’s strawberry shortcake, of course.“
damn, tsukishima has girls giving him gifts already? they collectively curse at him inside. lucky bastard...!
“ah— i’d like to give these for everyone!“ with an obvious perk of their ears, everyone gathers around you as you open the large, white plastic bag: it’s filled with various snacks and drinks, most likely bought from a nearby convenience store outside the school, which meant you walked out of the school premises, bought everything in this bag, then walked back to the campus just to give these for everyone.
an angel... she’s literally an angel!
“THANK YOU VERY MUCH!“ hinata, kageyama, nishinoya and tanaka shout in happiness, grabbing their favorite snacks and drinks (yoghurt for kageyama and melonpan for tanaka, of couse) with twinkles in their eyes and a dust of pink on their cheeks.
“you didn’t have to buy these for us,“ daichi steps up and accepts the bag with a small bow.
“it’s fine, captain! thank you for working hard!“
daichi announces a break for everyone, telling them to grab a snack or a drink of their choice before passing the bag to the next person. in a matter of seconds, everyone’s seated on the floor, enjoying the snacks or drinks you bought for them.
tsukishima, the only other person still standing besides yachi and kiyoko, converses with you just a few feet away from the group, but they’re all busy eating or drinking. the two female managers, though, listen in with a knowing look and the smallest smirk on their lips.
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ☼ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
you return, one again, a week later. but instead of dropping by while they were in the middle of training, you opened the doors and greeted everyone with the dark sky of the night behind you.
“ah [lastname]-san! what are you doing so late?“ sugawara steps in as the vice captain, daichi being away to talk with their coach and club advisor about the upcoming training camp in tokyo.
“i’m waiting for—“
“we’re holding a study session later at my house,“ tsukishima speaks up right behind the grey haired third year, walking up to you after to say something before returning back to the court.
e..eh? did i hear that correctly? it’s almost past 7pm though...
“[lastname]-san!“ hinata and kageyama approach you with a slight jog, passing their frozen vice captain by the side. “thanks for the notes you gave us yesterday, it really helped make me understand the topic better!“
“thank you for tutoring us yesterday, even though it was a break time and you were probably busy and had other people needing your help and—“
“i told you, i’m happy to help, kageyama-kun!“
ah, right. she’s just an angel doing her angel duties, sugawara sighs, his mind now clear and grounded. there’s no way someone like tsukishima would be in a relationship with an angel like her...
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ☼ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
...right?
the team, currently on their break, discusses about the possible reasons why you’ve been visiting them weekly for the past two months. you’ve never spoken up about it specifically, and there’s nothing really obvious that the team can focus on to hypothesize about the question at hand.
ennoshita, having observed the times you’ve visited them and how you interact with the team, explained his insights on the situation.
first, none of the second or third years have spoken up about having a significant other, nor has any of them heard or knew you before you first visited them, so clearly, they’re out of the picture,
second, your first visit was because you had to return something to yachi, but only yamaguchi and tsukishima had talked to you freely as a friend would.
third, you once gave something to tsukishima, most probably a gift from one of her friends who liked him, and gave her gift through you. which means...
“i had a feeling yamaguchi was really close to her,“ asahi’s eyes light up in understanding. “it’s rare to see him be so talkative and cheerful.“
“no, but the air around them doesn’t seem like it,“ tanaka contributes to the discussion. “[name]-chan has this really light and air aura around her, you can really feel how angelic she is! it seems like there’s just a playful, friendly aura when she’s with yamaguchi.“
“that’s... a really detailed, creepy description, baldy,“ kinoshita strikes an arrow into tanaka’s body.
“first name basis? without asking her? invasion of privacy,“ asahi shivers.
“no wonder kiyoko-san keeps ignoring you.” narita finishes the blow.
“i did not— [name]-chan gave me permission!“ (”yeah, after scaring her into accepting it.” “stop being so brave for nothing, oi!”)
“it still seems off if tsukishima’s the reason,“ nishinoya pouts. ”our angel [name]-chan wouldn’t settle for a guy like tsukishima!”
“i agree!“
“yeah, she’s too kind for that!”
with collective nods and hums of agreement, the team returns to their training, the summer training camps they had in tokyo and saitama still fresh in their minds despite a few weeks having passed by since. summer had just ended, and the second term for the current academic year has barely started, so they haven’t seen you since the last time you visit them before the month long break.
night approaches, and the day ends for the karasuno male volleyball club  without your prescence. eager to go home, they quickly changed and walked to sakanoshita market for their usual pork buns.
“a.. [name]-chan?!”
with a turn of your head, you greet the team with a smile and a small bow. “i figured you’d come here after training, so i went and bought you guys some pork buns before the get sold out.”
with a dramatic cry, hinata, tanaka and nishinoya fall to their knees and clasped their hands together as they thanked you profusely. after telling them that you had the worker keep the buns steamer to keep them warm, they immediately went to the counter; ukai, with impeccable timing, just entered from the back and immediately scolded them for being loud.
amidst the chaos, however, one person steps in and swiftly starts pulling you towards the exit.
“let’s go,“ tsukishima mumbles, his large hands easily caging your wrist in his grasp. “before the idiots notice—“
“tsukishima, what are you doing?!“
“how dare you steal our [name]-chan away from us!“
“give me a break,“ you hear him complain under his breath with a sigh. you giggle in response but try to hide your hands from the group, remembering that tsukishima had wanted to keep your relationship lowkey as much as possible. especially from the volleyball idiots, you remember him emphasizing.
“sorry, but we have a project to discuss! yama-kun, let’s go!“ with a last wave goodbye, the three of you escape the team and disappear from their sights.
as the team walks home while enjoying their warm pork buns, tanaka stops to a halt as he realizes something. “isn’t [name]-chan classmates with yachi and not those two...?”
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ☼ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
“were you able to study?“
“yeah, thanks for the jacket! library’s freezing, as always.“
the team eyes the two of you from the other side of the gym, suspicious and doubtful of their thoughts due to tanaka’s insightful realization last time. it doesn’t really seem like they’re in a relationship, right? they ask each other through knowing glints of eye contact. there’s no way they’re—
“oh, i heard from this guy that you’ll have the spring high tournament soon!“
“tsukishima got demoted to ‘this guy’, pfft.“
“pfft, ‘this guy’,“ hinata bursts out loud. “tsukishima doesn’t even get called by his name—“
yeah, there’s no way.
for the first time since you started visiting them three months ago, however, you stayed inside to watch the team train for the said competition with permission from daichi and the two adults beside door.
it’s a change of pace from you and a change of scenery from the team: they’re not used to anyone who’s not a part of their club to watch them, nor did they ever expect that it’d be you, of all people.
“[name]-chan,“ tanaka jogs up to you when their practice officially ended and the time to clean and tidy up the gym has started. “are you waiting for tsukishima and yamaguchi again? to talk about your, uhm, project?“
“no, i’m just waiting for kei.“
“k-kei?“
“yes?“ tanaka turns around to see tsukishima standing behind him, his hands on his hips and bored look on his face, but if you look closely, you’ll notice a hint of mischief in his golden eyes and the slightest smirk on his lips. “do you need something, tanaka-san?“
“you’re kei? i thought your name was hotaru!“
“nope, it’s read as kei.“
“i thought you were over having people guess your name for you!“
“i’m too tired to put up with people asking how to read it.“
tanaka, in the middle of your bickering, can feel his brain explode and his heart shatter slightly. i can’t believe it. fuck you, tuskishima. nishinoya, noticing his best friend’s frozen form in between you and tsukishima, jogs up to tanaka with slight concern.
“it’s true.” it’s the only think he can say before numbly looking at the two of you still bickering.
“maybe i’ll call you hotaru instead of kei then—“ (”k-kei? who?”)
“fine, i’ll stop.“ (”him?!”)
“good. you’re no longer a middle schooler, loser.“
“with your height, you’re the middle schooler here.“
fuck you, tsukishima.
“rude!“
