Okay so I wanna talk about the names of the Fallout TV Leads (but Cooper because I don’t like him) and how it reflects their character/story + some speculation on Season 2:

Lucy - Her name means “as of light”, like as in being born in daylight, which I think is rather fitting. She’s always cast in such a pretty warm lighting, always making her smile soft and her kindness to others even sweeter. She shares a name with Saint Lucy, the Saint of the Blind Martyrs. She is a martyr, of sorts, with the pain she suffers throughout the show coming from her being a Vault Dweller, but she also is blind. Blind to the truth of what Hank and Vault-Tec had hid from her. Very fitting.

Maximus - His name means “The Greatest” and that fits perfectly with his story. He wants to be loved, to be needed, to be the best Brotherhood knight to show he believes in this Eden that the Brotherhood fights for, but he also afraid of the future, fearful of abandonment from those around him. His name could also refer to the Pontifex Maximus, some of high priests in Ancient Rome, and how their name makes to “crave bridges and roads” for Rome. Which, in this context, would be him building a new road for the Brotherhood, for himself.

Norm - His name, at first glance, is quite plain and almost comical for someone who seems one note. It’s a name that sounds old-timey and yet also a bit childish. The meaning behind “Norman” is about Vikings but also is symbolic of bravery, determination, and a strong-will. All things that Norm displays but there’s also another hitch. His name is just one letter off of and is “normal”, it’s plain and simple but he isn’t normal by the Vault’s standards and is the black sheep. His own name is almost making a joke out of himself for being different. Poor guy.

Thaddeus - His name is simple. It means “courageous heart” and “beg for praise/one who begs” according to the internet. Let’s start with courageous heart, and let’s get out of the way with that Thaddeus is not very brave. He is a coward throughout the show with moments of courage, but he does seem to have a kind heart, deep down behind the fear, and which nicely seaways into that Thaddeus begs for praise from others, to have others see him as someone worthy of companionship, praise, and respect. Basically, he’s named Praise Kink

Red Hood : I used to have another name, before... A long time ago. But that person is dead now. I get to choose for myself now, they can't take that from me. I won't let them.

Found a fantastic academic paper on game design which really gets to the heart of a lot of what I'm trying to say in the Haruspex video yet for the life of me I couldn't find anything recent from the author no matter how hard I searched until I found another paper written by a woman who had the exact same email address as the author but a very different name then I finally realized what had happened.

Mild rant from me about Hans Zimmer's involvement in Dragon Age:

I just think it's such sellout behavior to hire expensive movie composers (Zimmer is also known to be a transphobic asshole lol) known for their blockbuster soundtracks for your game when you already had the most iconic soundtrack ever for the previous installment, except the composer was lesser known.

Most people hear the swell of violins and immediately think it must be the best soundtrack ever, but if I am really honest, the DATV soundtrack so far sounds like the most generic slopfest with the laziest leitmotif I had the misfortune to hear in a long while.

Hiring people for their name alone is something I find incredibly shameful. Like I cannot even put into words how nasty it is in my eyes, because it actively takes away from lesser known creatives in the industry who could have made a name for themselves. And it doesn't matter to me if Zimmer only did the Main Theme or whatever, because in that case, it shouldn't be his name that is plastered everywhere but Balfe's! But everyone is talking about Zimmer anyway for exactly the reasons I already mentioned.

Even just the thought of how expensive this endeavor must have been... That money could have gone to other, more important places, easily. It makes the layoffs also that much more bitter in my eyes. Idk. I adore Dragon Age and I am still a huge fan and I will play it, but stuff like that make me angry. I don't need some Zimmer who has been sitting his ass on his laurels from 10 years ago in my franchise. I'd rather have a no name person, or Trevor Morris, to get a chance again.

Visitation Rights

When Danny went to list Dani/Ellie as his heir after she'd come back from her years of traveling the world, he was quickly informed that he already had one in line for the thrown.

"What? Since when?!"

The pretentious, floating eyeball looked like he wanted to be anywhere else other than here, providing information to King Phantom, but explained anyway.

"The day you officially achieved royal status, you permanently linked your being to the Infinite Realms. When this happened, however, a child was in the process of being created with the assistance of ectoplasmic runoff that's been leaking into the mortal world for centuries. As a result of your power being incorporated into the Realms at such a time, this human child retained an imprint of your core signature. The Infinite Realms itself has recognized this child as your offspring. Your... other offspring has yet to be recognized in such a way and would therefore be considered your second heir once claimed."

Danny stared at the Observant with wide, blank eyes that were slowly filling with dread and panic.

"Why are you just telling me this now?? My coronation was over a decade ago!" He held his face in his hands and gave a horrified groan at what he just learned.

"If you really wanted that clone as your heir, I'm afraid it's too late to change it-"

Danny's head shot back up with a snarl and furious green eyes.

"That's not what I'm upset about you walking cataracts! Eleven years! I've missed eleven years of this kid's life!! How could you think I-"

At a loss for words, he growled deep in his chest. Deep enough that it echoed throughout the halls and rattled the floors.

"Who is this kid, and where can I find them?"

Once given the information and learning of the child's other parental figures, he gets to work. A few weeks later, he appears in the home office of a well-known billionaire with a stack of papers that he promptly slams onto the desk in front of the startled man. (1)

"I demand visitation rights to our son, Damian Wayne."

(1) Danny actually visited Talia first to get visitation rights. Needless to say, that didn't go very well. He's still got a couple knives floating around in his chest cavity because of it.

(*) ALSO! I'm not sure how this lines up with the DC/Batman timeline. All I figured out is that if Danny waited to be crowned until after he graduated college as an astrophysicist, which take 5 to 7 years, he'd be about 36 years old when he finds out about Damian. Bruce would be about 41, so the age gap is only 5 years. If y'all wanna make this Danny/Bruce, go ahead!
