Tonight, the occupation designated administrative evacuation, instruction, and operational zones for northern Palestine, stretching from Naqoura to "Netanya." The beaches of Tabariyya and the northern coast, including Haifa, Akka, and "Nahariyya," are closed, and classes have been suspended from Akka to Tabariyya. Additionally, the airspace from Khdeira to the northern border is closed until Tuesday. While the occupation boasted for hours about destroying 400 Hezbollah launch sites and thousands of rocket launchers, it simultaneously declared a state of emergency from deep within the Haifa line northwards to the so-called "Defensive Area 2." Day Eight—Last Group Day in Jerusalem & on to Akko

We had to depart our apartment that we all came to adore.

Our last day with the entire group included a “closing ceremony” and then more shopping back at Ben Yehuda. We had lunch and then walked from Ben Yehuda to Ammunition Hill. This was an amazing walk in our smaller group that took us through the Haredi neighborhood of Kikar HaShabbat. It was a hot hilly walk but we were able to see all sorts of people bustling through their neighborhood.

At Ammunition Hill there was another presentation by more IDF officers in a bunker that is used for practicing military drills.

Back on the bus to our closing dinner at a lovely outdoor venue between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Our group of six are somewhat outliers from the much larger group but this time we joined in the dancing.

This is where our small Austin group broke off from the larger group and continued on our trip. While all the others headed to the Tel Aviv airport to return home, we got on a smaller bus just for the six of us and Moshe to drive north to Akko. We arrived at our hotel in Nahariyya at 1030.
