Key Developments 

UN: Security Council passes resolution for “lasting” ceasefire without U.S. veto. Netanyahu says that Israel will continue the war until the release of Israeli captives.

UNRWA: The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reaffirms that UNRWA is a ‘lifeline’ for  Palestinians in Gaza. 

Guterres’s remarks came after U.S. President Biden signed a government funding bill effectively banning  UNRWA from receiving U.S. funding until 2025.

On Monday, UNRWA’s Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, said that 171 UNRWA employees had been killed by Israeli forces since October 7.

Nine Palestinians were reported dead and five missing by Gaza authorities after drowning while attempting to retrieve air-dropped aid packages that had fallen in the sea north of the Gaza Strip. At least 27 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, mostly children, have been reported dead of malnutrition caused by the lack of access to food.

Israeli forces wounded two Palestinians in military raids on Nablus city and the Balata refugee camp.

Israeli forces also arrested 30 Palestinians across the West Bank, raising the number of Palestinians detained by Israel since October to 7,800. The total number of Palestinians in Israeli prisons has risen to 9,100.

A 26-year-old international activist died on Friday from critical head injuries after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in Beita, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

The activist, identified as Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, an American of Turkish descent, was shot in the head with live ammunition while participating in the weekly protest against settlement expansion, the Palestine Chronicle correspondent from the West Bank reported.

Medical sources confirmed that she was immediately transported to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. Despite extensive efforts by medical staff, she succumbed to her severe injuries.

As well as prohibiting nearly all construction of wells necessary for Palestinians to secure additional quantities of water to support population growth and socio-economic development, such policies have denied communities access to water and sanitation facilities, including water, toilets, sewage networks and cisterns for rainwater harvesting.’

Hello all I am Doaa Jad Al Haq from Gaza I studied a diploma in fashion design and clothing manufacturing at the Palestine Technical College in Deir al-Balah and graduated with a very good grade. I was first in my class during the two years. I worked for a year in a center affiliated with UNRWA, and after that I created my own project and began Palestinian agricultural hand embroidery, which is part of the Palestinian heritage. I embroidered on clothes and bags, then After that, I focused more on making bags in all their forms. I embroidered the bag with different drawings, shapes, and colors, then I completely detailed it. I had my own workshop. Unfortunately, everything was gone from the beginning of October 7, so the occupation destroyed the place where I was working, and by destroying my house, I had nothing left, and during the last four months, I borrowed money from a friend to leave Gaza with my autistic child. The situation was very bad for him and for all of us. I left behind my husband and my family. Now, with your help and generosity, I hope that you will help me buy a machine and the necessary tools to start my project again in Egypt so that I can treat my child and help my family. Settlers had a pogrom against Palestinians last night, in the town of Huwara in Nablus.

"Dozens of Israeli settlers rampaged violently for hours in the West Bank town of Huwara on Sunday evening, setting fire to Palestinian homes and cars, hours after two Israeli brothers were shot dead in a terror attack there.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said one man was shot dead by Israeli fire during the riots in the town of Za’tara, south of Huwara and close to the settlement of Kfar Tapuah. The Palestinian Red Crescent medical service said two other people were shot and wounded, a third person was stabbed and a fourth was beaten with an iron bar. Some 95 others were being treated for tear gas inhalation." -- TOI
