Pokemon Characters and Date Ideas

Basically: what dates would these Pokemon characters do with you? Characters: N Harmonia, Leon, Grimsley, Rika & Prof. Augustine Sycamore

N Harmonia

Was honestly showing affection and did private, one-on-one hangouts together even before you two started dating

It was around this time he got more affectionate in your friendship. Resting his head on top of your hair, deep eye contact (which he was often really bad at), and braiding/playing with your hair or vice versa. 

It wasn’t until you “officially” ask him out and he cocks his head to the side like a confused puppy and goes “I thought we already were?”

Confusion ensues.

As for dates, N is a really quiet and private guy. He doesn’t like being out in public or in overstimulating environments.

Most of the time dates are hikes, picnics, exploring, all that the fun outdoorsy stuff where he gets to shine in his element. 

Occasionally y’all go to Nimbasa City and go on the Ferris Wheel or play at the arcade in the Amusement Park which you both find enjoyable. 

But his favorites are on late nights when neither of you can sleep. 

You two will just go to Dragonspiral Tower and stargaze at the top of the ruins or watch the local wild pokemon do their thing. 

It’s quiet, it’s fun, and he’s with you. What else could he ask for?

Leon

Dense boy, you probably had to beat him over the head with a book to get his brain to understand (mostly bc he keeps accidentally friend-zoning himself)

Has never really dated before? 

Like, Rose set him up on dates because it's good publicity but he probably hasn’t gone on a real date.

He has money, all these brand partnerships and stuff. He tries to do really classy stuff when y’all first start dating but it leads to him being clearly uncomfortable and you getting fed up and explaining you like him for him and to do fun stuff together.

Mostly home dates from that point on or outings that don’t feel like “dates”. 

Game nights where you two play video games are super fun. Some days are challenge days where you see who can do the best run on a Roguelike or who can win the most rounds of a battle royale type game

Some days are cozy co-op games where you solve puzzles and create things…

Y’all’s favorite thing to do together though is just walk and get lost. Esp with Leon’s terrible sense of direction, you two find weird hole-in-the-wall places that are so much fun.

The best one you found was a great hole-in-the-wall traditional kantonian ramen bar that was on the edge of going out of business. However, due to you and Leon talking about it so much with friends and posting about it online, you saved the shop from going out of business.

Grimsley

Your first date with Grimsley wasn’t really what you were expecting in all honesty

He took you out for lunch at his favorite Kalosian cafe then took you to a bookstore and had you both pick out different books for each other, then went to his house and read while old records played in the background

Of course, the book he picked out for you was one of Shauntal’s (because gotta support your friends/little sister figure)

It was so different from what you were expecting but so sweet at the same time. 

Most common dates are drinks at bars after long days or flower viewings knowing you would like them

He also takes you to his favorite spots whenever he visits Alola with you.

But the most fun dates are when the two of you go to Castelia or Nimbasa to the casinos

You both are given the same amount of money and the challenge is who makes the most in time for your dinner reservation

Whenever the two of you see each other during these you have a habit of teasing the other about who’s in the lead. 

In the end, the winner pays for dinner (much to the chagrin of the other)

Rika

She’s the one who asked you and was super casual and blunt about it

Picks you up after work and takes you to the store where the two of you talk about what to make for dinner.

The two of you go back to her place and begin cooking together, smiling and chatting the whole time as the two of you get distracted by cutting veggies and being in each other’s company.

From then on dates were mostly cutesy, one-on-one time for the two of you.

Crafts while watching movies are the most common, sewing, embroidery, sketching, it's just fun and relaxing

Ceramics classes too, wet clay on your hands and you rub it on her face. Only for her to cock her brow and smirk as she cups her face with her filthy hands and kisses your nose.

Her favorite dates are the ones when you get to help her at the Academy. Running after-school activities or working in the library

It combines her admiration of her students and her love of you… her two favorite things

Prof. Augustine Sycamore

Honestly over the moon when you accepted to go on a date with him

The man is in his late 30s/early 40s and his last relationship kinda fell apart really badly

So he was out of the dating scene for a while and didn’t exactly know what to do when you said yes

Like, his brain crashed and did a hard reset. He was not expecting to get this far…

He gives all his employees off one day and decks out the backyard of his lab with string lights, and sheets, rummaging around the attic of the lab, and a call to his favorite restaurant.

When you arrived you saw the backyard completely transformed into a cozy outdoor movie spot with takeout and snacks prepared at a picnic table

It’s super sweet

Besides that, you two go on “research” dates together. It’s mostly pokemon watching and taking notes on what you find.

Living with N Harmonia (GN reader)

Can be seen as both romantically and platonically

N is so not used to it. He's usually always on foot and barely has time to go home to be with his sweetheart

He understands the concept of living with another person, but the simple thought of him being able to come home to see your gorgeous face, and that sweet smile of yours has his mind on loop

When living with him, he likes to be outside a lot, so making a garden with him or for him will cause his heart to leap, seeing you happy is what always brightens his day.

There are indeed times where you two will have arguments, but he's so quick to be guilty for yelling at you in such a way, that he ends up leaving, only for him to come back with things you love as a apology.

When sleeping together, at first, he was absolutely awkward about it, if you can, you'll have to kinda butter him up to get him to realize it's normal. Sweet baby is just a little anxious he isn't doing it right, so reassure him that it's okay, he'd soften up quick after that.

As much as I would love to baby him, he's a grown man, but he's a little slow on the pure concept of love. He admits he doesn't under the pure concept, so he's trying his best at getting used to living with you, and doing everything with you.

When living with N, he's usually super kept to himself when he's at home and has time to relax. He'd engross himself in books to pass on time, but if you were to ask, he'd read to you

Outside play dates. Geez, he loves the outdoors so much. There would be times where it'll be late at night, and he's outside with wild Pokemon, talking to them while looking up at the stars. Please join him

Overall, living with him is an adventure of its own, in such a good way. I need his figures so badlyyy

Playing with his hair is one of the first kinds of affection you gave him

Sometimes when he’s having a bad day, he likes to lay his head on your lap or chest and have you play with his hair

Cuddling is another thing he’s really come to love, but it took a long time for him to get used to that as well

Extremely self indulgent set of headcanons that probably no one but me relates to. This is gonna be for a Noivern-shifter reader specifically (because… that one’s the closest to how my kintype looks) but. you can picture it as a different dragon if you like

Warnings: None!

-He kinda starts to suspect something’s off pretty soon after he meets you. He’s perceptive like that.

-The way you seem to complain about your back hurting and scratch at it a lot (your wings wanting to come out)

-How you eat kinda messily, and mostly gravitate towards meat.

-Your sharper looking eyes, teeth, and nails

-How your hearing and smell seems more sensitive than most

-He doesn’t prod you about it though. He just thinks you have interesting quirks! If anything, he kind of likes it. You remind him of a Pokemon. (Except for whenever you’re having back pains, he worries when that happens.)

-Surprise bitch you are one

-When you first transform in front of him, it’s likely to protect him from an aggressive Pokemon he can’t manage to calm down himself.

-Once the threat is handled and you shift back, you freak out. You’re terrified he sees you as a monster now.

-Of course, he doesn’t, he’s just had his mind blown is all. He wasn’t even aware something like you existed.

-Before he can stop you though, you dart away into the woods to hide.

-He quickly starts searching for you, asking his Pokemon friends to help him look.

-When he finds you, you’re still in your dragon form, curled up under your wings and crying inside a cave. His heart breaks when he sees this.

-He makes his way inside and places a gentle hand on your wing, and starts speaking softly to you.

“Oh Y/N, you didn’t think I would hate you for this, did you?”

“It’s okay. I don’t think you’re a monster. If anything, I think it’s marvelous. I still want to be your friend.”

-You lift your wing to look at him, and he moves his hand up to stroke your head softly. You can’t help but press your head to his chest and cry in relief, letting him hug you as you slowly change back into a human.

-When you’ve realized you have feelings for him, you try to impress him by bringing him shiny things and doing fancy display dances with your wings.

-He thinks it’s sweet, but doesn’t understand the gesture right away. (And his Zoroark thinks your dancing looks ridiculous.)

-You try more human approaches. Asking him on dates, giving him flowers- it still goes over his head. Arceus help you both.

-To your embarrassment it takes a blatant, fully worded confession from you while riding the Ferris Wheel with him for it to finally sink in.

-Things go uphill from there though! He likes you back and you two become official

-Of course, the dragon shenanigans don’t stop there

-You like to hang out in a sort of half-dragon half-human form a lot and he really likes this, because this way you can wrap your arms and tail around him and you’re still small enough to to lay in bed.

-He LOVES burying his face in your neck fur. It’s so warm and soft

-Sometimes you’ll hang upside down from a tree or something while holding him securely in your wings. Surprisingly, he’s pretty okay with this. He trusts you not to drop him

-You’ll carry him around on your back a lot too

-And sometimes pick him up by the back of his shirt (especially when he’s refusing to get enough sleep)

-You might’ve accidentally bitten him a few times. Not enough to draw blood or anything, just play bites for when you wanted his attention and couldn’t help yourself. He gets bitten by his own Pokémon all the time for the same reason so it didn’t bother him that bad, but you try to restrain yourself more

-Your ears are pretty sensitive, so he’ll get you special headphones for you to put on when you’re in loud or crowded places!

-He’ll also rub your back and shoulders when your wings are aching, and help you brush your fur too if you’d like

-In return you like to preen and groom his hair. Again, something his Pokemon do to him pretty frequently, so he doesn’t mind

-He finds out you can purr and while it’s a little embarrassing to you, he loves it. The sound is relaxing and helps him fall asleep when you’re cuddling

-If you’re having a day where you just don’t want to words, that’s fine. You can speak in dragon noises and he’ll still understand you

-Honestly he’s a wonderful partner to have, Pokémon or human form he still treats you like a person. He can also relate a lot to the feeling of being an outcast to society

Y'know, I'm curious. I know you've been doing a lot of self aware Pokémon HCs, so something I wanna know is if you've ever done Self Aware N before. This isn't a request by any means, but just being curious if you've ever written our beloved christmas tree being self aware at all.

He’s already dealing with so much, so suddenly being snapped to self awareness, or slowly becoming aware, are things that could be quite a shock for him.

Whether he knows right away when you start a new game, or becomes so over a playthrough, its such an interesting thing.

Imagine he goes through everything in the story of Black and White

How he grows and learns, and how his relationship with the player character evilves until the end.

And then he wakes up. He’s in the castle again, and Ghestsis is back, as if nothing happened.

He tries to shake it off as some dream, only for his fears to almost choke him when he sees the player character again ‘for the first time.’

But he notices something. How their face is blank. Eyes empty.

He tries to ask what’s going on, but his feet are walking for him, and suddenly words are pouring from his mouth. Familiar words he said on his own last time. Now they feel forced from his throat.

And then he’s in a battle.

This time though, something is different.

Their pokemon are different. A different level, maybe a different gender, maybe a whole new team.

He fights, but his attention is elsewhere. He swears he sees something flicker behind Them. For a split moment, he swears he sees a screen, and a face.

“Ah… I hope I’m not too under-leveled for this challenge. I should have leveled up a bit more…”

He thinks that Hilbert/Hilda is speaking, but their mouth never moves. Its as if its coming from around him.

“Oh well. It will at least be a challenge this time! Battling N is always a treat.”

N feels sick. His hands are sweaty, and his pokemon, his friends, are so oddly quiet.

The battle is over in what feels like seconds. Before he can even ask what’s going ok, his feet are moving, and he’s talking once more.

Words he’s already spoken fall from his lips. No matter how he tries to stop them, he can’t.

He doesn’t believe this anymore! Why is this happening? Why can’t he stop? Move! Move. Move…!

And then he does. His feet move on their own, all the way back home. He can finally breathe again, but at what cost?

Until he figures out what is going on, he’s trapped in his own personal nightmare. Especially when Ghetsis swings by, acting so sickeningly sweet. His honey laced words that are secretly coated with venom.

How the lies fall from Ghetsis’ lips so easy, and N wonders how he fell for them in the first place.

But he does make one vital connection.

Whoever, or whatever they are. He always ends up being forced back to them against his will. Forced to speak the lies he once believed.

And he hears Them. The voice. It always comes back, making commentary.

Yes… whatever madness is happening, they are the key, he is sure of it.

He may not believe it is a god at first, but if you do more playthroughs, he might be inclined to start doing so.

What else could rewind time, and make a new timeline for fun? Forcing people to forget, and relive it, just a little differently each time?

But you are always positive about him, despite the things he’d done. The things he’s being force to relive again and again.

Maybe you’re not as wicked as one might think when trapped in this madness. You don’t even seem aware he’s being forced to relive this.

Perhaps to you, you don’t believe anyone remembers? Is he just an anomaly?

What about Hilbert/Hilda? You seem to control them. He no longer sees them as the teenagers who were eager to oppose him.

They are just empty vessels for you. Something he doesn’t think he would have noticed naturally.

Its like theres a fog in his head. He thinks he remembers the teenager being so… animated. Alive.

But thinking on it? They never were.

They are just a puppet, and no one but him notices.

I had a bit of creative field here so I decided to go with a reader who got lost in the forest but didn't become a Phantump after they died, instead taking care of little Phantumps and other poor pokemon that ended up in the forest.

I imagine it was a pokemon who after meeting him eventually trusted him and led him to you

It came to him as a shock and he wasn't really sure how to approach you

At the beginning he left because he got overwhelmed

However he started coming back every day with food and blankets for you and your little friends

Altrough you cannot actually understand the little ghosts N tells you that they care about you very much

You soon started showing him more of the forest

Including a beautiful waterfall where you spend a lot of time

The waterfall was rumored to bring endless happiness to friends/couples who visited it together

You and N made matching bracelets from the flowers found in the forest

He comes to the forest very often luckily having you to guide him back if he ever gets lost

He admires you for your bond with the forest and it's pokemon and has vowed to protect it and it's residents

It was heaven because every single outdoor restaurant/food truck/cart was not charging new customers for their first individual item at each place (Basically, you could order one thing from every store and it’ll be free but just once!)

“Aw,” you pursed out your bottom lip, “I love you too.”

Steve’s eyebrows shot up, “really?” 

“Stevie, you’re my best friend,” you rolled your eyes, breathing out a light chuckle, “of course I love you.”

“Oh, I-, um…” he winced, screwing his face up as if he had just sucked on a sour lemon, “I didn’t really mean it like that…”

“Okay, you can’t just take it back,” you huffed, suddenly furrowing your brows at him.

“I’m not taking it back, I’m clarifying,” Steve spoke, desperate for you to understand, “I care about you as more than just my friend-”

“Best friend,” you couldn’t help but correct him.

“Yes, my best friend,” he puffed out a light chuckle at your insistent amendment, then placed his hand atop of yours and spoke, “sweetheart, I love you, I’m in love with you.”

“You-…” blinking back at him, unsure if this was just a joke, “I’m sorry, what?”

“I love you,” he repeated, sucking in a tense breath. 

“Wait, is this like when you’re 6 years old and get married on the playground? Is that what this is?” 

Flashing you a warm smile, Steve assured you, “I promise you it’s very much not.”

“Oh…” you breathed out slowly, your gaze faltering a moment as you realized, “okay.”

“Okay?” he desperately tilted his head to catch your eye, unable to gauge your answer through your neutral tone.

“Okay,” you offered a casual shrug as you nodded lightly. 

“O-oh,” a relieved chuckle bubbled out of his growing grin, “okay.”

Glancing down as his fingers weaved through yours, you asked softly, “…so what now?”

“Now I would really like to kiss you.”

“You wanna kiss me?” you blinked up at him with wide eyes, genuinely surprised by his wish. 

“Well, yeah,” his free hand fluttered up towards your hair, tugging a few strands behind your ear, “why else would you think I’d tell you all of that?”

“Well, I don’t know!”

Keeping his fingers tangled in your soft hair, he cocked his brow, “did you really think I wouldn’t wanna kiss you?”

“I never knew you wanted to kiss me before.”

“Y/n, I’ve wanted to kiss you pretty much since the moment I met you.”

“And you didn’t tell me?” you shrieked, completely appalled.

“Well, I told you now!”
