Valiant cover dated 3 April 1976. Death Wish cover by Mike Dorey (this was a different strip to the Death Wish that later appeared in Speed from the same company). The "Great News Inside..." referred to the title merging with the reprint title Vulcan. Valiant would later merge with Battle Picture Weekly in October that year.

In fact : This King Kong is the edition in french language of the british serie Mytek the Mighty.
Written by Tom Tully and drawn by Eric Bradbury or Bill Lacey.
The french collection was composed of 32 issues (between 1972 and 1978). In reality only sixteen episodes because number 17 to 32 were just reissues of number 1 to 16…

On the occasion of Shaky Kane’s birthday, (which is today, fact fans) let’s take a look at his Mytek the Mighty story from the 2000AD Action Special. Written by Si Spencer, it revamps the old Valiant character in stylish fashion.
There were no more Mytek stories by Kane, largely because the 2000AD of the time discovered that they didn’t actually own the rights to publish the character, or many of the the other characters from the the 2000AD Action Special.
