There are so many metaphors in this story omg. I can't help it. I love them.

This story has a lot of the same characters and events as the Homecoming series, but I don't know if I necessarily consider them the same canon. A lot of characters and stuff about Bear Creek crossover in a lot of my stories.

It was a pain in the ass sometimes, but Ray still loved it. He couldn’t help himself.

Ray's affection for the truck is also a metaphor for his relationship with Crow Horse. Obviously.

One of my bulletproof headcanons for Ray is that he doesn't drink.

I love Sammy Moon Dog.

Jimmy, who was good at noticing when people were upset or at petting height, nuzzled Ray’s knee until Ray scratched his ears.

Derangedfangirl took this story about Ray's first undercover job and wrote Fade.

I have to do quite a bit of research when writing for this fandom to avoid anachronism. Just little things.

Crow Horse fucking up Ray's suit is, as a genre, my favorite.

When I'm creating Native OCs for this fandom, I always make sure to use last names from the correct nation, and the way I do this is by using last names of people from that nation. I never make up Native surnames.

I love Jimmy and Crow Horse's relationship. They get a lot of small moments in my fic. myhappyface refers to it as, "Crow Horse's continuing vendetta against Jimmy" lol

I originally wrote the last scene from Walter's point of view, and the beta reader had me switch it to Ray's

Tiospaye is one of my favorite words in any language.
