This taxidermy sculpture is part of an ongoing “Franken-animals” series that I launched two decades ago. Garishly dyed animals were also among the first pieces I created and they remain among my signature pieces. This particular piece is dear to my heart because it appeared in BUST magazine in 2009, a feminist women's lifestyle magazine founded in 1993 that is still going strong. The sculpture was commissioned by a collector as an anniversary gift for their partner. The other reason it’s so close to my heart💗
