61 days until my surgery
happy new year!
it's honestly really nice to have something to look forward to in the coming year. it helps with the sort of bummed out new year this has been
I went to a small (3 people) party to celebrate nye. we smoked and drank and played board games. we had a good time for sure, but it was so odd turning on the TV to watch the ball drop. there was no one on the stage performing in New York, and all the shots were just really tired people trying to be energetic because the camera was pointed at them. there was someone who sang imagine right before the ball dropped, then they showed two old people kiss for like a minute straight then a 2 second shot of two guys kiss lmao. weirdest and most depressing ball drop ever honestly
but it was nice to ring in the new year with friends, and I always love a chance to smoke and drink with others.
im celebrating the new year by my self a bit by getting food at my favorite restaurant today. usually it's way less busy here but I should have expected they would be busy since they're one of the few places open on the holidays
I really hope I don't get sick
I've been doing so well, masking at work and in public as much as possible. with everyone else sick from the holidays I have been feeling hopeful that I'll avoid the worst of it but this might be the end of my run
honestly I deserve a few days off work since all my coworkers got sick and left me to do work with less help
whatever it doesn't actually matter
I have a couple of new years resolutions, tho I think the word resolution is a stretch here
the first one is I want to eat something whenever rim hungry. this isn't a new goal but I'm reaffirming it. I've been doing worse in the past few weeks cause I'll just come home from work and sleep until my next shift. falling asleep slightly hungry isn't hard but I'm too used to it and I know it's not healthy. I've always struggled with eating enough, due to both trauma and autism related food avoidance issues. I never knew I had an eating disorder cause I didn't have issues with my body image (related to food at least - dysphoria is a different thing). but I do have very disordered eating. for a long time I didnt feel hunger because I had ignored the feeling so much that it didn't trigger in my brain. it's taken years for me to work from "no hunger feeling - just random headaches and shaking" to today when I said "oh I'm starting to get hungry, I should eat before I actually get hungry". it's been a long journey, and im not done yet, but it was a great feeling today to realize how far I've come. my goal for the new year is to recognize that trigger early, like today, and then act on it. that means I have to keep easy food accessible, so I have to go grocery shopping soon haha
another resolution is im not smoking now that the new year is starting. my surgeon says no smoking a month out, but I want to make my recovery easier, and I think swapping to edibles is better for me anyway (and not much of a hardship, at least I can still get high). that reminds me, I do need to go to the dispensary again and get some other edibles once they open back up. I want to get something low dose I can micro dose on. if I'm being honest I'm gonna miss hitting my pen at work and I wish there was an edible that could give me that little bit of something like a pen. probably not a good thing to want but that doesn't stop the desire. (I love to take a few hits of my pen before I do some cleaning, it's just a nice chill time. not great to do before making food, I can't work as quickly when I'm high and then I get stressed with orders coming in)
lots of people make new years resolutions that are very black and white. they want to stop doing something or start doing something. I think that's the wrong way to do it because if they mess up once many people give up entirely. I prefer resolutions that are intention based. I have the intention of eating more regularly this year, but I'm not going to attach any details to that resolution so I literally can't fail. as long as I eat when I'm hungry once this year (done) I've succeeded (yay!). the resolution acts more as a reminder to myself, and I prefer that over traditional resolutions. honestly Atomic Habits is a great read if small improvements over time is more your style, it helped me a lot with actually doing the things I want to do
well I'm finishing up my meal here (writing when not on my break at work!? wow, this might literally be the first time I'm doing this) and I'll need to drive home soon so I should finish this up.
happy new year, I hope you can find small ways to make your day better each day

Just shared some parmesan pasta with my rat. Haha, this is one seriously spoiled rat. Not even the famous New York pizza rat got to eat this well.
Another funny thing was that when Tom got up at 5:00 in the morning yesterday, he looked at Alexa’s clock all confused and wondering why it was 2:00 in the morning when it was really a timer I had set, LOL.
I was up forever last night so my schedule made a two-and-a-half-hour jump and I didn’t get up until 3:00. It does that some days and some days it holds.
I hate the cold but love how it’s been keeping things quiet. No one’s been interested in their motorcycles. at least no one in the park. But Florida is going to be back to being Florida with highs around 80 and lows around 65 so that’s about to change. I don’t doubt for a minute that today or tomorrow I’ll be hearing from the Honker and the bitch behind him.
Tom and I decided to be bad the day before yesterday and get some more candy that was on sale for Valentine’s Day, even though it’s not even February yet. Carol, an English woman who’s a cashier at Walgreens that we’ve come to know well, was laughing her ass off when I said that the ONLY good thing in having hypothyroidism is that you can eat all you want because your weight isn’t going anywhere anyway.
I’m glad my shoulder is a little better today. I slept on it wrong the day before so it was sore all day. Today, I’m just very tired from being up so long.
Looks like the Zinnia project is a bust. The few that started to sprout are withering away. They never even bloomed. In a few weeks, I'll plant some outside and see if I have better luck out there.
There’s no easy way to say this but I decided that I’ve had definitely had enough of Andy. I swear to God that from now on if I ever dump someone for any reason or they dump me, that’s it! No more do-overs just because I miss the positive times and wish people could change simply because I explained to them what annoys and even offends me. Better to miss the good times than to deal with the toxicity. People are people and they don’t change. I think that because I’ve chosen to change more than most people (mostly by being less mischievous and vengeful), I incorrectly assumed that most others did the same. Well, they don’t.
I love Andy and hope he gets everything he wants in life from permanent weight loss to the man of his dreams to lots of money but I can’t deal with what’s basically the same old shit I’ve always had to deal with. He thinks he knows it all and everyone else is always making excuses or doesn’t know what the hell they’re talking about. Yet he’ll go into this whole spiel explaining whatever about something HE has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about even though he obviously believes he does. He still doesn’t seem to understand that there’s a difference between an opinion and a fact. We all may have opinions but that doesn’t mean they’re always correct facts.
And oh how he loves to argue! When I was dumb enough to reconnect with him in 2010, he just had to point out over and over again that it wasn’t the wildlife of Maricopa living with us, it was us living with them. Yeah, whatever.
He was telling me that I could lose weight with Hashimoto’s because he can lose it with edema after being told he couldn’t yet he’s obviously not smart enough to realize that you can’t compare the two. They’re two totally different things and while I acknowledge that doctors aren’t always perfect I can’t believe they’re all lying when they told me that it hinders weight loss. He sure thinks so, though, and said not to listen to them because one doctor told him to lose weight and then said that he would need vein surgery in his 70s. This pissed him off and he went to someone else who told him that the doctor shouldn’t have said that because he couldn’t possibly know this. So according to him, this is supposed to be why the doctors are lying about me being able to lose weight when it’s a proven medical fact that if the metabolism is slow, the body can’t burn nearly as many calories. Really, it’s an obvious no-brainer but this guy is so stupid at times and doesn’t even know it. I have heard that idiots don’t realize that they’re idiots because they’re just not smart enough to be capable of realizing it and hearing how ridiculous they sound. If doctors are lying to me about how Hashimoto’s affects weight loss, are doctors lying to him about his edema, diabetes and sleep apnea?
He was telling me things like how I could look up in a handbook what my insurance company has to offer and find out if a nutritionist is covered as if I wouldn’t know these things. At one point I laughed and said you must think I’m really stupid and he said no you’re not stupid at all. You’re very smart with all the languages you’ve learned. Then why was he telling me things that pretty much everyone knows?
Anyway, he was a bit contradicting when he said his nutritionist is wonderful and smart but then she’s not very smart because she recommended the wrong snacks or something like that. Oh, and she’s my type too, he says, because she’s tall thin and dark. I told myself I wasn't even going to bother to try to explain to a guy on testosterone treatment that a menopausal woman refusing to even think of HRT doesn’t have a “type.” Beautiful women to me these days are beautiful in the way a flower or a butterfly is. Also, not that he did this of course, but if you go to see a doctor because of how they look, as Tom said, you’ve got a problem.
He continued to chew in my ear when leaving me audios even though he knows damn well that annoys me and no, it’s not something he forgot despite his shitty memory because he acknowledged that he’s always known it annoys me but didn’t think I would “notice” him eating a strawberry. Eating is eating, isn’t it? It doesn’t matter what’s in your mouth if you’re making these gross smacking sounds. He’s just a die-hard opposite-doer. Always has been.
I’m also tired of the projections. He projects so much of himself onto others and assumes they’re just like him or at least can and should be at the same time bragging about how much he loves being unique.
Then there’s the fact that he just doesn’t get a lot of what I say and that’s only the parts he can actually remember. The memory issues are real but so are the stupidity and stubbornness.
He gets too pushy at times and it had a way of making me feel like I wasn’t good enough as I was. I don’t think he realizes or is smart enough to recognize or understand these traits of his but rather than not accept him as he is and waste my time trying to explain myself and try to change him, I just ghosted. Yes, Karma will get me for it but that’s just the price I’ll have to pay for someone I feel is more of a toxic than a positive influence on me.
Sure, we’ve have had our share of laughs together but I was finding myself annoyed and even offended much more often than I was laughing. The fact that I feel a sense of freedom and relief knowing he’s once again out of my life, this time for good, tells me something right there. I was just as stupid to let him back into my life as I was with Termite Tammy. Toxic is toxic.
At first I didn’t want to do anything that would signify he was dumped. But then I realized that if I simply ghosted him and left it at that, I would have to make it look like I abandoned my Facebook account and I didn’t want him to think anything was wrong either and possibly waste some poor cop’s time coming out doing a wellness check if he has this address. I’m not sure if he does, though. I have sent him mail from this place, but I don’t know if he saved the address. Either way, I would be making an awful lot of work for myself having to tweak this setting and tweak that setting to make it look like the account wasn’t in use and I didn’t think it was necessary to go that far. But I didn’t block him either. I simply blocked messages and his phone number, although I realize he could call from another number. I can avoid anything from that area code, though, and if it’s a different one and a voice message is left, I can delete it as soon as I hear his voice if he goes that far. As I said, the last thing I wanted to do was tell him why I’d had enough because I knew 100% of it would go right over his head, and 50% of it would be totally forgotten within a day. So that was out of the question because it would be a waste of my time.
Hashimoto’s or not, I’ll try almost anything once, and I’m not going to let it stop me from talking to a nutritionist when I get a referral to one next month. The only thing that makes me a little nervous about potential weight loss is how it may affect how my thyroid and BP meds affect me. Meanwhile, I’m tired of the false truths. I’m tired of him telling me things he doesn’t know a damn thing about. No one knows my own body as well as I do. Yes, I definitely do need to eat healthier but if your metabolism is slow, you can’t burn calories like a normal person. I would have thought anyone with half a brain would be capable of understanding this but apparently not.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if even though doctors have officially diagnosed my N24 and it became obvious to Tom and me what it was before I even saw a doctor about it, he still thinks it’s some grand excuse because I’m supposedly afraid to admit I don’t want to work. Yes, Andy acknowledged years ago that it “hit him like a bell in the night” that no one wants to start their day at three in the morning and that I do have a sleep disorder but he probably only said that to win me back when I dumped him in the past.
The point is the same. The guy doesn’t realize that not everybody can do everything he can do just like he can’t do everything others can do. That’s where the self-projection comes in. If he’s obsessed with his weight then so am I. I most certainly was in my teens and twenties (mostly thanks to my mother) and that’s the Jodi he remembers and is judging me by. If I remained as obsessed with it as I used to be, I probably never would have gotten this big because I would have starved myself. If you’re that obsessed with weight, you don’t care about the hunger that not eating brings. But the truth is that for many years I haven’t given a shit. I do now, though, in a non-obsessive way, not for appearance’s sake but to get healthier and put myself at less risk of becoming diabetic in the future along with acquiring other health problems that can come from obesity. I would also like to be able to get around easier and regain some of my flexibility.
Do I think I’ll ever really lose weight even if I see a nutritionist? No, I don’t. I think the best I’ll get from it is a healthier diet and that’s fine if that’s the case. If I don’t lose weight, then without Andy the expert know-it-all around I won’t have to be told I was still eating the wrong foods and making “excuses.” I don’t need people like that in my life. That’s not being a supportive friend. That’s basically the same as being called a lazy liar.
Again, I know I’ll be punished for this. The last time I walked away from Andy, Aly ended up dumping me for 17 months. So I’m sure something will happen but I’m willing to take that chance because I think it’s okay to pick and choose our friends and to cleanse our lives of toxicity whenever possible. Sometimes one really does have to look out for themselves.
Luckily he doesn’t know any of my email addresses and I don’t think he knows where any of my blogs are. So I did something right the day I decided to stop mixing friends with my journals and keep that separate so that only strangers or other writers who don’t know who I am read me. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if he knew about the blogs, though. I can ignore emails and he can read my blogs all he wants if he finds them because I’m not changing my mind in the future.

JAMIE POV
Five days, that's how long it was until you saw (Y/N) again. Well, it was four days, sixteen hours, twenty-two minutes, and forty-two seconds, give or take a second or two. And why did you know the exact time, only because you'd been counting the hours since she left Jordie and Jessi's house. The dinner party had gone great, at least you thought it had, but then you hadn't seen her since then; not even a glimpse of her outside in the backyard or pulling into the driveway. It was maddening or maybe it was just you slowly going insane as every little noise outside had you wandering over to the window to check and see if it was her. It hadn't taken much to convince your brother to throw a dinner party on short notice, in an excuse so you could see (Y/N), but now that you had, there was just this overwhelming need to see more and more of her.
Now, here you were, just four days, sixteen hours, twenty-four minutes, and sixteen seconds from seeing her again. She was to be at the practice center at four-thirty today, so that someone, that someone being you, of course, could show her around the facility. You stood back a bit, staring at the entrance doors just waiting for her to walk in. And then she did. She looked radiant. Dressed in a simple navy pantsuit with a pair of high heels that clicked across the floor, she made her way to the front desk. Instead of rushing out to greet her, you headed back to the locker room, where you knew the receptionist would usher her back to you.
Your palms were sweating and suddenly you felt unsure of yourself. What if she was only playing nice at Jordie's and really didn't want to be around you? But that didn't explain how she'd laughed and reminisced with you about different things. That laugh, you knew it was a genuine one, for you heard it so many times in your dreams you had it memorized. God, you hoped you could make her laugh like that again today.
You could hear her heels on the floor, so you busied yourself with one of your sticks retaping the blade, even though it didn't need it. "The team captain is in there, Miss. If you need anything just let me know." You heard the door open and then turned around.
"Jamie?"
"Oh hey (Y/NN)," you tried to sound casual as if her simply being in the same room as you didn't send your heart beating into overdrive.
"I guess I didn't realize you were the team's captain."
"Yeah, have been for a few years now." Your heart sank a bit in the knowledge that she hadn't really followed your career except to know where you were, so she could avoid you.
"Well that's…," she stumbled on her words which was unusual for her and you wondered if she was as affected by you as you were by her, or if it was just her disdain for you, and that she hated to give you any amount of praise. "That's really amazing. Your coaches and team must really hold you in high regard."
"I'd like to think so." You finally abandoned the stick that didn't need taping, leaning it against the wall before turning your attention back to (Y/N). "Anyhow, I guess I'm your tour guide today." She gave a weak smile and a simple head nod, which was not encouraging to say the least. "So, how about we get started? If you want you can leave your stuff in here, no one will bother it." She'd been carrying her medical bag and a few other things, but she handed them over to you and you set them in your stall. "Well, as you can see this is our practice locker room, pretty basic. I thought we'd start with a tour of the entire place before I show you the training room."
The two of you headed down the hallway and back out to the lobby. "Obviously, you came in this way, but I'll show you the entrance you can use in the future. We're pretty much contained to this side of the building as you can see, but when practices are open, people can come and watch." You showed her the rink, from seat level, then headed back out. "This is the club lounge, if there's ever an event here where we aren't skating we use one of the boxes up there. You're more than welcome to as well."
"I have to say this is kind of elaborate for a practice rink."
"A bit."
"I was expecting metal bleachers and…well, I don't know. I feel like this is more like the arena and then a practice rink."
You chuckled, for you kind of thought the same thing, the first time you came here. Now you barely even noticed it. "Well, the boards are the same as the AAC, but other than that it's very different."
"AAC?"
"American Airlines Center," you hadn't realized you shortened the name. "Sorry about that. I think we're scheduled to tour that on Wednesday." It gave you another opportunity to be with her.
"Yes, I have that on my calendar, but was going to see if we could change that." You supposed there was your answer about her wanting to be in the same room as you. "Dr. Ellis has a patient that needs a knee arthroplasty and he asked if I'd show him the technique I've been using. Less evasive and I'm having great success with cutting the healing time by half." Oh, so it was a medical thing, whatever an arthroplasty was. "If we could push it back a bit that would be great, if not maybe we could look at another time."
"I'll work around your schedule, it's not a problem." If it meant spending more time with her you'd go to any lengths that you had to.
"Thanks, if we could maybe make for like three in the afternoon instead of noon that will give me plenty of time because I have a feeling, he'll want me to sit in on his other two surgeries he has scheduled that day."
"Not a problem." You took out your phone and made the change in your calendar. Thankfully, you didn't really have anything after practice that day but giving her the tour. "Shall we continue then?" She smiled, and it made your heart feel light. You took her to the offices next. "Down this hallway is pretty much everyone that works for the Stars; PR, accounting, our GM, our owner. You'll pretty much find them here." You stopped in front of a door and then opened it up. "This office is for you." It had a great view, well as much of a view as any of them had, but it really was a nice place for her to work.
"Umm…this won't do."
You blinked at her a couple times, there was really nothing wrong with the room. Everything in there was modern with state-of-the-art equipment. "What's wrong with it?" The words came out a little harsher than you intended but you really couldn't see her problem.
"Well for starters, we're on the what, the third floor? And I believe the locker room and training room are on the first." You gave a confused look as this was Dr. Lundin's old office and he never been concerned about it being where it was. "It's just if I'm going to be working on you…well not you, but any of you. I need to be near you. I can be at ice level during practices, but if I'm treating you, my office should be closer to the ice." Well, you couldn't really argue with that. "Also, there's no exam table in here. I get that I'll be doing most things in your training room, but there may be times when I'll need you to stop in to look over something, or what if one of you need to see me about something private."
She had a point, though none of you had ever really gone to Dr. Lundin like that. Come to think of it, he wasn't really around that much. He more or less made recommendations on where you should go if you had a problem. He wasn't necessarily the doctor to fix you. Seems like (Y/N) planned on being more hands-on, and you were ok with that. "You make a good point. Give me a second." You stepped out of the room and called the Jim Nill, the general manager. You weren't sure he was the man to go to, but you knew he'd be there in the building at least and could possibly offer a solution. It was a short phone call, as you expressed (Y/N)'s concerns. Jim was happy to help and said that he'd get someone on moving her downstairs to one of the spare rooms that housed equipment at the moment. "All set. They're going to move you down next to the training room. It might take a few days to get in the stuff you want, but if you make a list, we'll leave it at the front desk and make sure it gets taken care of."
"Thank you, Jamie. I really appreciate you doing that."
Her praise was like music to your ears, you could remember the days when you'd have a good game and she would go on and on about how well you played and you'd literally soak up every word that came out of her mouth. "No problem, guess we should head down there then." You showed her the room, which she seemed pleased with, then took her over to the training room. A couple of the trainers were still in there from practice, so you introduced her to them.
"I hate to be a pain in the ass but would any of you mind if I changed the set up here. I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I just see a few things that could make this more efficient."
"Sure, go ahead," Dave, the head trainer told her.
"So, see these units right here. They would work so much better if you had them in between the training tables. That way two guys can be on the machine at the same time."
"Oh, I see what you're saying." They went to move the equipment, it looked heavy so you helped as well. (Y/N) was opening up cabinets and taking things out, then moving them to other ones.
"Is the AAC," she looked over as you to confirm she'd said that right. "Setup like this as well."
"Pretty much," Dave told her.
"Could we make these changes there as well?" They seemed to be a bit annoyed, but she wasn't deterred. "Bear with me for a moment. Say Jamie has a cut to his eye that needs to be stitched." She looked at you to play the part.
"Ow my eye," your acting was horrible and they all laughed.
"When he comes into the room, we take him right to the nearest table, which is here." You sat down where she gestured. "It's obvious, he needs stitches, but the medical cabinet is all the way over on the other side of the room, and by the time we get there, look for what we need then come back we've waist two minutes of playing time and we don't even have a single stitch that we need in." She was making a lot of sense. "If we had our sterile supplies here, and then individually marked and put in like this." She rearranged the cabinet as she talked. "Then when Jame comes in with the cut. We can assess it and stitch him up in no time."
"Makes sense," Dave agreed. "I'll get to work on changing the AAC as well." He and the other trainer were done for the day and said their goodbyes before heading out.
"Hey Jame," you noticed she'd started using your nickname and you weren't upset about it. "Could you move this table over to here?"
"No problem."
"Is something wrong?"
Quite the opposite actually, you thought today was going pretty well. "Um, no why?"
"You're favoring your right shoulder. I saw you do it earlier."
"Oh, I think I just slept wrong on it or something." Well tossed and turned on it was more like it, as thoughts of her pervaded your mind.
"Sit." It was a command and one that you were not to argue with. She came up behind you then, her hands going on your shoulders, kneading and massaging your shoulders and for a moment it felt like heaven, just having her hands on you again. Then she pushed down hard on a particular spot and you winced. "Tender?"
"A bit."
She came around in front of you and stepped in between your legs. "This might hurt a little." Hurt? God, she was killing you at the moment, as her body was almost pressed intimately up against yours. You willed your growing erection to calmed down, but apparently, it had a mind of its own. She moved your arm in a weird position, then pressed down almost under your armpit but not quite. (Y/N) was right, it did hurt a tiny bit, and you grunted at the pain. "Sorry." She went back to kneading your muscles, while you caught the scent of her perfume, or maybe it was just her, either way, it intoxicated you. You closed your eyes inhaling deeply, willing your body under control. You'd give anything at that moment to just wrap her in your arms and press her lips to yours. Would her lips be as sweet as they once were? Would she kiss you back with the same abandonment as she had that first time so long ago? There were so many questions swirling in your head, and you wanted to know the answers, but it was too soon. If you attempted any of this now, you'd take the chance of losing her for good and it was not a risk you were willing to make. All too soon for your liking, she stepped back. "Does that feel any better?"
You rotated your shoulder and neck a few times. "Yeah, it actually feels amazing."
"Excellent," a huge satisfied grin on her face, which only made you smile back. You felt it then, a shift in the air, almost as if her heart was giving way to you in some small manner. Maybe it was just you, but there was something in the way that her eyes held yours, the way they softened as she gazed at you. You remembered that look, had only dreamt of seeing it in her eyes again but now here you were, afraid to blink for if you did it would break the spell. Her watch chimed then, like the clock striking midnight in a fairytale. "I really should be going," she told you, and just like Cinderella, she was running away only this time you knew she wouldn't get far. "So, Wednesday, then right?"
"Yeah, three o'clock."
"Ok, I'll see you then."
"Hey (Y/NN)," she turned back around. "Since we're heading downtown, why don't I just drive us both down. I'll show you the shortcut." She seemed to mull that over a bit.
"Sounds good." She made a move to leave again, only this time, she stopped herself. "Thank you for today Jame. I really appreciate you showing me around."
She called you Jame again, another step in the right direction. "Anytime, (Y/NN)." You sighed happily as she walked out of the training room. You were one step closer to winning the girl of your dreams back.
READER'S POV
What was wrong with you? You seriously needed to get ahold of yourself. That moment in the training room could not happen again. For god's sake, your watch had to chime to tell you to breathe, because you were pretty sure you'd stopped. There had been something in Jamie's eyes. Those big beautiful brown ones of his, that you could spend hours looking into. People always said the eyes were like windows into your soul, and if that were true you saw your own reflected in Jamie's. The shocking thing was, it didn't frighten you like it should. There was this small part of you that wanted to fall headfirst straight into him, but you couldn't. This time it wasn't just your reputation as being easy riding on the line. It would be your reputation as a doctor and a professional as well, and that was something you would not let him ruin.
You turned over yet again in what felt like the most enormous bed at the moment. You couldn't seem to get comfortable and sleep was evading you, as thoughts of Jamie filled your head. Every time you closed your eyes there he was, smiling as he took another bite of cake in his mouth, laughing when you least expected it. It was all quite maddening and thrilling at the same time. This time you sat up in bed. Grabbing your iPad, you opened your one guilty pleasure and started reading the romance novel you'd started on the plane here. You hadn't picked it up, since the day you saw Jamie. It would provide the perfect distraction from him.
You were about three chapters in when things started to turn a bit steamy, and as you read each line you found your hands wandering over your body. Your hands snuck up your shirt, wishing that it was our hero's gliding over your breasts the way he caressed the main characters. As the dialogue went on, you got more and more turned on, until you abandon the book for your own pleasure. Closing your eyes, you pictured the protagonist with his dark locks, kissing his way down your body. Your hands would thread into his hair, as he kissed above your panty line, before slowly shimming them down your legs. It was almost as if you could feel his warm breath against your thigh making you shiver. You let your fingers mimic his, as they slid between your folds, your pussy already wet with desire for him. He softly kisses you there then, his beard somewhat scratchy against your sensitive skin, but it was a feeling you yearned for. His long fingers would slip inside, moving in and out of you slowly at first driving you mad. Your hips flexed up, as you gave over to the fantasy, craving the faceless man's touch. You could see the muscles of his back stretch across his skin and you longed to rake your nailed down them as he thrust his cock inside you, though it was his torturous fingers driving you wild at the moment. You were close now, just teetering on the edge with the need to cum. Rubbing your clit with your other hand, you thrust your fingers in out of you in a motion that you knew would take you to the heights you sought. Only your mind told you it was his fingers, his tattooed arm, his wicked tongue that was taking you there. Eyes closing tighter, as you fully emersed yourself in the fantasy, you felt the orgasm begin to build. Your legs started to tremble and your breathing was erratic, and then it hit and you were screaming out his name. "YES…JAMIE…YES!" Your eyes flew open, at the sound of his name echoing off the bedroom walls. It was Jamie you were picturing the entire time. He was the man giving you such exquisite pleasure. The realization had you spinning and throwing the covers over your head, too bad you couldn't hide from yourself. How were you ever going to face him in a couple days?
Sleep was something that evaded you that night and the next, well not entirely you did get a few hours here and there. The only problem was Jamie seemed to creep into your dreams as well. There were ones where the two of you were laughing and joking and having the most amazing time, and ones that had you calling out his name in pleasure again as well. But the ones that got to you the most, were where he was with Caitlyn. They would be holding hands or kissing right in front of you. You'd wake up so angry that you wanted to punch something or someone, namely Caitlyn. It had you questioning why though. If you didn't have feelings for Jamie, then why were you so angry at some college girl who threw herself at him. The deeper you dug into that, the more you didn't like the answer, for it meant there was still something there between you.
Thankfully, Wednesday came and so did your teaching surgeries, which meant you had something else to think about other than Jamie Benn. It was an early morning as most days in the operating room were, so at five, you grabbed a coffee and headed to the hospital. As you suspected, Dr. Ellis had you tag along on his other three knee arthroplasties, which meant you were walking out of the OR just before noon. If you timed it right, you could grab a quick bite to eat before going over charts and then be at Jamie's before three to tour the AAC.
"I've got to say your method in that replacement was impeccable," Dr. Ellis told you as you headed down the hallway to the doctor's lounge.
"Thanks, it took a little time for me to get things right, but as I said when you take that ligament…"
"Dr. Ellis, you're needed in the ER for a consult; car versus pedestrian," the nurse told him, and immediately your heart sank. You always hated seeing these kinds of accidents come through the hospital. "It's a twelve-year-old, his leg is in bad shape. I'm not sure it can be saved."
"Dr. (Y/LN), would you join me?"
"Of course." The two of you quickened your pace as you rushed to the wounded child. "I thought you said this wasn't a trauma hospital?"
"It's not. I'm not sure how this case got here."
The moment you got to the ER, you didn't have to be directed as to where to go. Doctors and nurses rushed in and out of the room at a frenzied pace. It had honestly been a good year since you'd done any extensive trauma work, but the adrenaline came rushing back through your veins with a force of a good slap shot. When you entered the room, it was worse than you expected, you'd only seen one other case that was this bad. You rattled off a flurry of questions, to those around you, trying to assess the damage. "I think we're going to have to amputate," the chief emergency physician said.
"Only as a last resort." You looked at Dr. Ellis. "If you're willing, I'd like to try and save this child's leg, but we need to get him in the OR now."
Not even a second ticked by, before he said, "You heard her people, let's move." Everyone started rushing to get him prepped for surgery.
"I'll need your assistance," you told him as the two of you made your way back, nurses following close behind.
"Of course, anything you need."
"Oh, I need someone to call Jamie Benn." Dr. Ellis gave you a funny expression. "He was to show me around the arena today in a couple hours. I need to push that back." He nodded to the nurse who jotted down the information before the two of you went to scrub up.
The surgery was grueling, your feet hurt and your back ached from standing in the OR for over twelve hours, but it was worth it. You were able to save young Noah's leg. And while most of those that had joined you in the operating room were headed out for drinks, which they wanted you to join, you were putting back on the dress that you'd chosen this morning to wear for your tour with Jamie. Admittedly, you may have decided on it because it showed a little more cleavage than usual and that it was Jamie's favorite color, but right now you'd give anything to not have to wear it for another couple of hours as you walked around an arena trying to remember where the entrance and exit were. Though still you, glided it over your body and headed out the door.
You thought about pulling into your driveway, but decide to go straight to Jamie's instead. Your feet already hurt from standing all day, and the heels that you'd brought earlier now felt like they were twenty inches high instead of the three that they were. No point in walking extra steps from your place to his. You rang the doorbell and almost immediately Jamie answered. "You look…"
"Like hell." You finished for him as he stepped aside you let you inside his house and even through your exhaustion you realized this was the first time you were seeing the inside of his home.
"I wasn't going to say that."
"Oh, well I feel like it," you added. "But anyhow, are you ready to go?" You were standing in the entranceway taking everything in, the vaulted ceilings, the winding staircase, even the glass doors were things that you'd talked about with him when you were younger. It was almost a carbon copy of your dream home that you two talked about.
"Um…well, I kind of didn't think you'd be up for it tonight."
"Oh, thank god."
He chuckled as you sagged in relief of knowing that you wouldn't have to put another ten thousand steps in. "I have an alternative if that's alright." You had no idea what he could be thinking, but anything other than a thirty to forty-minute drive downtown would be better. Just then your stomach growled, the sound seemed to fill the room and Jamie's eyebrow shot up.
"Sorry, I haven't eaten since six this morning."
"Well, then I think you're going to like my idea. Follow me." He headed into the open concept, kitchen, and living room, which was decorated all in white. "I kind of figured you'd be hungry, so I cooked us dinner. You still like salmon, right?"
"Love it." You couldn't believe that he went to all this trouble. You could see the table set perfectly, and that he had a couple pots on the stove, which smelled divine. "This is so much better than the drive-thru I was going to beg you to go to."
"Fast food, really? Come on (Y/NN) I would've sworn you'd go for pizza at least."
"I mean well, obviously, but when you're crunched on time."
"So, does this mean you're staying for dinner?" It wasn't in your original plans, but he'd gone to all this trouble, and well, you did have to eat.
"I'd love to."
"Great, I just need to get the grill going. How about a glass of wine while we wait?" You nodded, after the day you had, wine sounded perfect. "Red or white."
"A dry white since we're having fish." His walk-in wine cellar was to die for and filled from head to toe, you couldn't help sneaking a peek behind him. "I didn't realize you were a wine drinker."
He shrugged, the movement careless and carefree. "From time to time, I enjoy a glass. It's always better to share it with someone though." God, you'd said the exact words almost a hundred times. You loved your wine, but it was almost self-indulgent to just open a bottle and drink it yourself, so you rarely did it. He chose one, then came back out to the kitchen to uncork it. "I almost hate to ask, but how did the surgery go?"
"It was long, but we ended up saving Noah's leg."
"Oh my god, that's amazing."
"Well, I don't know…"
He didn't let you finish, just scooped you up in a hug. One that literally lifted you off the ground. It took your breath away not only from the shock of it but because of the way it made you feel. There were so many times you'd completed something successful in the OR only to come home to an empty house and no one to share it with, sure you had your family to call, who were always thrilled, but this, this was different. It was someone sharing in your joy and happiness, and you could feel it in the way that he held you that he was just as excited as you were. All too soon he put you down as if he realized he'd overstepped his bounds. "Sorry," Jamie told you taking a step back, yet still wearing a huge grin. "But you freaking saved a kid's leg. Like who does that." Again, he didn't give you time to answer. "You're truly amazing, (Y/N)."
A blush rose to your cheeks at his compliments or maybe it was from the way he held you and you longed to feel his arms back around you. Either way, the room suddenly got a bit warm. "Thank you."
He poured you both a glass of wine, then lifted his. "To the most amazing doctor. Dallas is lucky to have you." You clinked your glass with his then took a sip of the crisp chardonnay.
"This is good," you sighed as you took another drink. "Would it be terribly rude of me, if I took these shoes off? My feet are killing me."
"God no, make yourself at home," he chuckled.
"What I should really do is run home and change into some sweats. If only my feet didn't hurt so bad."
"You can wear mine."
"Oh no, I couldn't." Because really, you couldn't wear his sweats, that would just be going too far.
"Please, you used to do it all the time." Ok well, he had you there. "I think you had more of my sweatshirts than I did at one point."
"Hey, I couldn't help it, they were just so….cozy." He laughed again and you found yourself joining in.
"Well, you're more than welcome to steal some. It's not like I don't have a ton from the organization. Which reminds me, I'll make sure they send you over some stuff."
"Oh, that would be nice."
"Until then just go put mine on. You know you'll be more comfortable." He was right, but it felt a little awkward and you hoped he wouldn't read into it.
"You're sure?" He gave you that look, the one that told you if you didn't get your ass into his sweats, he might kick it, and you had to laugh. "Ok, ok." It kind of felt like old times, only without all the bad stuff that happened, and god help you; you liked it.
"Upstairs go to the left. They are in my closet on the right-hand side. Bottoms are in the third drawer and the sweatshirts are hanging up. I'm going to go throw the salmon on."
He headed out to the grill, and you made your way upstairs. The bedroom had pristine white walls, like the majority of the house. A massive four-poster king-size bed was done in shades of gray; it reminded of you the bed you shared long ago once. You shook yourself, as memories of that first time with Jamie came flooding back. There was no point in dwelling on that; you told yourself as you made your way into the huge walk-in closet. It was neatly arranged and you had to wonder if it was Jamie being meticulous or if he had a housekeeper that did all this for him. A shelf on the left side caught your eye. There were photos there nestled with his colognes. A picture of when he was drafted sat there, along with one from when he won his gold medal playing for Team Canada. At that moment, you realized you'd missed so much of his life. All these major life-changing events, that had things gone differently, you would've been part of, or at least you told yourself you would've. You sighed, feeling a heaviness in your chest that you didn't want to explore at the moment.
Turning to the right, you went to grab the sweats like you were supposed to instead of digging around in Jamie's closet. You found them easily then moved down to grab a sweatshirt off the rack. You didn't really pay too much attention, just grabbed a Stars hoodie then started to head toward the bathroom to change. Again, photos caught your eye. These more personal. There was one of him with his mom and dad, that brought a smile to your face. You'd always loved his parents. Another was him with Jordie and Jenny, and still another with just him and Jenny's daughter. It was the one next to that, that made your breath hitch and your heart beat faster. It was a picture of the two of you, one of your favorites from Canada Day. You'd been out at the lake house with his family, and someone had candidly captured the two of you just staring happily into each other's eyes, a smile playing across both your faces. You remembered the moment like it was yesterday. That he would still have this picture was just….well, it was a lot to digest. You'd burned yours in a moment of anger weeks after what had happened, but Jamie, well apparently he kept his and still had it on display. What did this mean? Did he still have feelings for you? Did he still love you? Moreover, how did you feel about him now, after all this time? There were so many questions in your head, it was making you dizzy.
You rushed into the bathroom and splashed some cold water on your face. Part of you wanted to run the two houses down to your home and lock the door behind you, but that would solve nothing. So instead, you inhaled deeply, getting control of your emotions just as you would before you entered the operating room. There was nothing between you and Jamie anymore, the two of you were just…well, you were trying to be friends, that's all this was. You quickly changed into his clothes, throwing your dress across the huge soaking tub, then you plopped your hair on top of your head in a messy bun. It was only then that you looked at yourself in the mirror. It was a reflection of your teenage self, the one that loved Jamie with her whole heart, but you weren't that girl. You were older and wiser, and you were not about to let your heart get trampled on by one Jamie Benn again. Squaring your shoulders, you headed back downstairs, where you'd pretend as if you hadn't seen the picture of the two of you that set your heart aflutter.
When you entered the kitchen, Jamie's jaw dropped and you knew he was seeing that same version of your teenage self that you saw moments ago, though he recovered quickly. "You look more…comfortable."
"I am. Thanks again for letting me borrow these." You decided to not mention, how they made you look, or feel for that matter. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"I've got it pretty much under control. Just prop up your feet, it'll be ready in a few."
"It smells delicious."
"Thanks."
"When did you learn how to cook? Because from what I remember, you could barely boil water." It was true, he was never that great in the kitchen, but from the aroma, his skills had definitely improved.
"Well, when you're on your own as long as I've been, you learn quick." He finished mixing, what looked like some sort of sauce before drizzling it over the asparagus that he'd broiled. "Besides, I can't burn off a large pizza the way I used. If I indulged in that every night, I'd have even more of a dad bod than I do now."
"Oh stop, you do not have a dad bod. Trust me I've seen plenty of those and you're not it." With his toned arms and legs, he seemed more in shape than when he was sixteen years old. Well at least more defined. In fact, just looking at his thighs brought all sorts of wild fantasies to your mind. Oh my god, you needed to stop thinking of Jamie like this or there was going to be another sleepless night in your future.
"Thanks," he answered back to your compliment. "Though I will never live down the nickname Chubbs."
You laughed, like full-on belly laugh. "Oh my god, tell me that did not follow you around."
"With Jordie on the same team," he said while rolling his eyes and joining in your laughter. "Of course, it did. It's fine though, actually, it'd be weird if people didn't call me that."
"I'll have to remember that, Chubbs." He raised his eyebrow at you before stepping out to grab the salmon. This really was nice, the two of you just laughing and joking, maybe you could be friends after all.
"Your dinner, madam," he said as he placed what looked like something out of a five-star restaurant in front of you, before sitting down in the chair beside you.
"Wow, this looks amazing."
"Well, it's not the celebration dinner you deserve for saving a kid's leg, but it will have to do." He raised his glass again towards you. "To an amazing doctor." He needed to stop making these toasts to you, as they made you blush every time.
The conversation at dinner flowed easily, like two old friends who hadn't seen each other in ages, instead of two exes. You reminisced about old times and caught up on gossip from back home. It was all really refreshing, and you realized that you'd worried about moving to Dallas for no reason at all. You helped him clean up the dishes, then you both moved into the living room to finish up the bottle of wine. "I was thinking," Jamie told you. "I drew out the AAC a bit, that way if you're schedule gets too packed, you'd have somewhat of a map to get you around."
There he went again, being all kind and sweet. A complete contrast to the man that you'd hated for the past fourteen years. "That's really nice of you. Let's have a look." He laid it out on the table and started to explain what parking garage to use and where that entrance would put you once you were inside. He was about midway through when the knot in your neck from surgery today, decided to stiffen a bit. You tilted your head to the right, then to the left; in an attempt to work it out.
"Little stiff?"
"Yeah, sometimes long hours in the OR, make my neck not want to hold my head up anymore."
He chuckled then moved back against the side of the couch so that he could rub your shoulders. "Here let me."
"You know, I'm supposed to be the one helping you out, not the other way around."
"Yeah, well humor me." You turned, giving him your back. His hands were gentle as they kneaded the muscles there and you had to admit it felt really good. You could feel yourself relaxing back against him. "Scoot up for a second." You did as he asked and then he swung his one leg up so that you were now seated in between his legs, then he went back to working on your muscles. "Better?"
"Mmm," you sighed out and let your eyes drift shut. It had been a long time since anyone had taken care of you the way that Jamie had tonight; cooking you dinner first and now this. He gently nudged you back against him, as your body grew heavy. Slowly, you drifted off to sleep. What you didn't know, was how Jamie settled you fully against his body, then grabbed the blanket that was strewn across the back of the couch to cover you up. Nor did you know how he pressed a kiss to your head, as his arms slid around your waist. He knew that he should probably wake you up, but he couldn't resist the opportunity to hold you in his arms even if it was for just a little bit. Jamie told himself that he'd just lay with you here for a little bit, let you rest for just a few minutes, but what he didn't plan on was falling asleep with you.
You weren't sure what woke you, maybe it was the light snoring in your ear, but you found it hard to rouse yourself out of slumber. You were just too comfortable, too cozy, too content, to want to wake up. There was just this safe and secure feeling that you had that just kept lulling you back to sleep. But slowly, you came alive. You blinked a few times, trying to figure out where you were. This wasn't anything new, when you were an intern, you'd wake up all over the hospital depending upon where you fell asleep, and moving to Dallas you still weren't used to your new home, but nothing here looked at all familiar. It was then that you noticed, someone's arms around your midsection, and that you were sleeping on said person's chest. A light bulb went off in your head, and you realized that person was Jamie. Obviously, you'd fallen asleep at some point, you just didn't know why Jamie hadn't woken you up. Instead, he chose to fall asleep as well.
You should be in a panic, but for some reason, your not. It just all feels so…right. Only it shouldn't feel that way at all. You shouldn't want his arms wrapped around you like they are, and you shouldn't like the gentle rise and fall of his chest as you lay against him, and you definitely shouldn't have your fingers interlaced with his, but you do. You actually could stay like this…well if you're being honest…forever, and that scares the living hell out of you. It's then you decide you have to get out there and you start to untangle your limbs from him. The movement waking Jamie. "Mmhmm," he hums sleepily and for some reason, your heart flutters at the sound. His hands tighten around your waist and you don't cringe like you should, but if you stay here any longer, you don't know what will happen.
"Jamie," you whisper. "Jame."
His eyes peek open as you turn and look at him. There's a slow smile that comes to his lips, that just sends heat to your core. Fuck, you need to get out of here. Then realization dawns on him, "Oh shit, I must have fallen asleep." He's scrambling now and so are you. "I'm sorry….I only meant to let you sleep for a bit." Oh, so he didn't mean to hold you all night and make you feel cherished? Why does your heart sink at that knowledge?
"It's ok, but I should really be going." You're a little stiff as you get up off the couch and look around the kitchen for your purse, noticing that it's five in the morning. "I need to get ready for rounds at the hospital."
His hands go to the back of his neck, then comes around the rake down the front of his face. "I'm really sorry…"
"Jamie, it's fine. I'm the one who's sorry. I shouldn't have fallen asleep on you like that." You slip back into your heels then head towards the front door. "Thank you again for dinner."
"Anytime," he mumbles and there's this look of confusion on his face. You can't decide if it's about waking up with you in his arms or if he's still not fully awake yet, but you're not going to ask, as you open the door and slip out. "Hey (Y/NN)." You turn back around the minute you hear his voice. "I'll call you," he tells you, and damnit if your heart isn't beating faster again, like your fifteen and the prospect of this hot hockey player calling you is just doing weird things to your insides that medical science can't explain. "About rescheduling the tour."
"Right, the tour," you muttered and suddenly, it's not as romantic as it all seemed a moment ago. "Yeah, we definitely need to do that. Thanks again." You shut the car door so fast and drive the two houses down, which looks completely stupid, as Jamie stands on his front porch watching you, making sure you get inside ok.
What the hell just happened? It's the only question you can think of as you drag yourself up to the ensuite in your bedroom, so you can wash your face. You grab a cloth and turn the water on, your mind trying to digest the last ten minutes. You just spent the night with Jamie Benn, and you're not mad about it. You're not mad about it at all and that's frightening. A week ago, you didn't want to be in the same room with him for five minutes. Now, you were laughing over dinner and falling asleep in his arms. Jesus, what were you thinking? You look up at yourself in the mirror and all you can see is his damn hoodie and sweats on you. You take a deep breath, trying to calm yourself, but instead, all you can do is smell him. He's on your clothes, well of course he is, they're his, you idiot. You swear when you pull your hair all the way down from its even messier bun that your hair smells of him too. And when you close your eyes you can feel him; his arms wrapped around you holding you close, and damn if you don't want that again.
"NO," you yell out to yourself in the mirror. "No, no, no." He's not good for you. He'll break your heart. Your mind knows all these things and still, your heart is trying to open the door and let him in. This can't happen, you need a plan. No, what you need is someone to remind you how he broke your heart.
You pick up your phone and dial your best friend, Emma. She'd been with you through the whole breakup with Jamie and remained by your side through every dumb mistake you made afterward. Emma had even moved to the east coast, when you went to John Hopkins, though she'd met the love of her life there and was now engaged. You knew it was early, but you also knew that your best friend would answer the phone if it was you who was calling. "Hello, sunshine," she answered all cheerful and it only put you in a fouler mood.
"Really? How are you this happy in the morning?"
"You know I've always been a morning person. Now, please tell me what happened with Jamie."
"How do you know something happened with him?" It was truly baffling how she could just read you like an open book.
"Why else would you call me at six-thirty in the morning? Tell me he's not breaking your heart already?"
"It's worse." You pause trying to figure out the best way to tell her. "I think I'm falling for him again."
"Get out!" She shouted at you through the telephone. "It's been like what ten days?"
"God, when you put it like that, it sounds insane."
"It's not insane (Y/N)." At least Emma didn't think you were crazy for possibly falling back in love with Jamie. "You two have history, like big-time history, and that just doesn't go away overnight. The question is what do you want to do about it?"
"I don't know, Em." It was true, you were so conflicted about whether you should just shut Jamie out completely, or open your heart just one more time. You were hoping your best friend could shed some light on the situation.
"Well, then I think I have your solution." You waited patiently for her to tell you what it was. "You know what they say, in order to get over someone, you need to get under someone." Had you heard her right, did she really just tell you to go out and have sex with someone random?

Let’s talk: BTS decorating their BE photocards (BangtanB)
by Admin 1
Today BH posted a Bangtan B*mb of the members decorating their BE photocards and honestly, it was just too funny of a video to not post some comments about it. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do since it’s an amazing happy boost, and also showcases the differences in the members personalities really well in the way they approached the decorating and the final results.
Before I get into it properly, can we please talk about Namjoon for a moment? His duality? The way he can be so cute and silly and cover his photocard almost completely in cute glittery stickers and then turn around and look like this? I wasn’t ready. For those who saw my post yesterday about the LGO videos, yes, I still haven’t recovered lol.
Okay, now, lets talk about the video and the cutest/funniest moments.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0b7bb935a148e7af5a5edba65dfc5e94/419effb9dd9abcf8-ed/s540x810/4afede62743ed1a428e0780c31cea50f60d2cd24.jpg)
(Not to be me but gotta love how Jimin’s and Tae’s photocards are stuck togetehr/connected through the pink sparkly squiggly line sticker, cute. Also it looks like Hobi turned himself into a cute cat boy haha.)
The first duo were the 94 liners, Namjoon and Hobi, and right off the bat it made me smile and laugh so much. Hobi started out trying to make it at least somewhat neat, complained about how he’d stuck the J a little crookedly onto the photocard, but sooner rather than later escalated into just going all out with different hearts and squiggly lines to the point of giving himself heart shaped purple space buns and a pink tail.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/fe93fca18e8b1883f9423342b29ae75e/419effb9dd9abcf8-84/s540x810/5bd260dd99189b4753669d91f3b850e86a5256c0.jpg)
Meanwhile Namjoon’s plan seemed to be just covering the entire photocard in stickers, except for his face. He added flowers and squiggly lines, even at one point tried to scratch off one of the stickers to adjust its placement which, I mean, is very Namjoon. Also, the sheer size difference of their hands and those tiny stickers? And Hobi’s proud smile?
Next up was Jimin with Seokjin and they were my faves in this hands down. The way they work off of each other and make each other (and us) laugh is just so fun and entertaining to watch. Their dynamic is amazing! I love how Jimin wanted to stick an A in hangul onto Seokjin’s photocard (turning Jin into Jan) and at first Seokjin told him not to do it, not to touch other people’s art, but of course he has the worlds biggest heart and soft spot for the members so he allowed Jimin to do it in the end.
Three times.
And like that wasn't enough, Seokjin discovered one of the pink squiggly sparkly lines and called it ‘pink poop’ deciding he wanted to stick that onto Jimin’s photocard right above his head. Which, in the end, Jimin also let him do. Adorable.
Their themes were also just so...them. Jimin sticking to flowers (with Seokjin suggesting that he should add a stem below his face so he’d literally be a flower, which Jimin didn’t accept) to match the photocard itself while Seokjin went for “twinkle twinkle little human star” and literally added a yellow star onto his face and surrounded that with even more stars. If that doesn’t scream Seokjin, I don’t know what does, and I mean that in the most endeared way possible.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ad55bb5dc8796db0ebaebfa0d8284b95/419effb9dd9abcf8-59/s540x810/ea37ffab7f5b4a50c5d6734e7fc1223d019faeb2.jpg)
Even more so when we think back to the BE Unboxing in units (11:55 onward) where they were supposed to add star stickers as rating along with a review right onto the cover of BE. There, too, Seokjin covered most of the cover in stars, the amount most certainly exceeding any rating system for albums.
Then we had Tae along with JK, the only duo that was relatively quiet as they worked, their section less filled with laughter. This isn’t a bad thing, of course, just means they were focused at their task which makes sense in the context of their personalities. Both are visual artists in their own right, JK usually sticking more to videos and photography (though he also draws), while Tae also dabbled into painting, so it was interesting to watch how they approached the task, both of them ending up with results that were far more minimal and neat than those of the previous pairs.
Tae even made a joke about how their photocards decorated with their names alone simply have name value and would sell for five billion won at an auction. I mean, he’s probably not wrong about that...

And lastly we had Yoongi on his own, his segment likely having been filmed a while before the other members judging by the background and when his surgery was. He also worked relatively quietly, though that was likely due to the fact that he was on his own. Looking at how many options there were, I thought to myself that I’d simply be overwhelmed by too much choice.
The cutest thing about his decorating though was how in the end he concluded that he’d want to give his photocard to Hobi so he can keep it in his wallet. Which is even cuter when we think back to FESTA 2020 and how Yoongi had won a Hobi photocard which he’d put in his own wallet. Those two are so soft for each other.
And like all of that wasn’t cute enough, we got this adorable Hobi selca.

Overall it was a really, really fun Bangtan B*mb full of laughter and the members having amazing chemistry with each other. Such a simple idea, having them decorate their photocards, and yet the result is so good!
But, speaking of decorating photocards, could you imagine actually doing that with any of your own? Because honestly I can’t. I’m not necessarily one of those ARMY who collect all the photocards etc and yet I still value mine too much to attempt anything like this out of fear that I’d just ruin them. Same with my ARMY B*mb. Even though I’d love to have the handle covered in rhinestones to match Namjoon’s sky blue mic, Seokjin’s pink one, Yoongi’s black one, or JKs purple iridescent one, but I’d never be brave enough to even give it a try. After all my ARMY B*mb permanently lives in its box so it won’t break or fall or something could happen to it in general.
Anyway, sorry for going on a tangent. The point though is that this was a great Bangtan B*mb with perfect timing for a Sunday.

The Realization of Importance
Part (3/3)
Let’s end it.
A/N: This is to say that all the characters and the main story line belong to Voltage Inc. Only the fictional story is a work of mine, as well the fictional characters, Hana, Touma and Akari. Also this story is based on dream event, because I had this as a dream many days ago. It might be a little different from the usual genre, a little more angsty, so this little girl wants to know your honest opinions about the work. Be honest and do let me know what you think. But, if it feels a little bit dreamy or weird, you can discontinue reading from here.
Part 1 II Part 2
Part 3/3
Hana: ?!
Standing behind me was none other the man I loved the most, Kasumi. But, why is he here? His face is looking as cool as a cucumber. And, is he smiling? I hurriedly get up from my seat.
Hana: Kas- Err, I mean Chief Kasumi! What are you doing here?
Kasumi: Listening to your conversation.
Hana: ...I- Well, I am not MC.
Turning my head where I put the hairpin to his side, I show him my ‘recognition symbol’ or whatever.
Hana: I am Hana, the new resident.
Kasumi: I know that.
Hana: ?
Why? Just as I am trying to focus on my work, why does he drop such lines? What work has he with me? I rack my brains for a possibility.
Hana: Oh, are you here to talk with Touma?
Tucking on my white coat and holding me like a scared child, Touma slowly ducks his head to the side. I knew that Kasumi loved children, like he played pictionary with Sora that time. So I decide to give it a try.
Hana: Touma, he is the head of EICU, Dr. Kasumi. You can talk to him. He really is good person. Oh yeah, we might play pictionary together!
Kasumi: ...
Probably not expecting the response, Kasumi’s eyes go wide. Did I say something wrong? Wait, don’t say me... This event has already happened here already. If that’s the case, I might be in knee deep water right now.
Hana: I thought that Touma might like to draw, since he is good at gardening and sightseeing, so I asked. That’s it.
Kasumi: Touma, I know you can do it. And as she said, we can play pictionary anytime you want. But, I have a request to make.
Touma: What is it?
Kasumi: Can I accompany you to the visit to your garden?
Hana: What?!
Okay. I seriously need to check my mental health now. Am I really in my senses? What in the world did I hear just now?
Hana: But, we shouldn’t trouble you. After all, your schedules might be packed. And what about Dr. MC?
Kasumi: She has a lot of study to do. Besides, I want to see how this resident handles the case.
So it was just as a mentor... I see. Although I would have felt pangs in my heart at this time, I feel relieved, although I don’t know why.
Touma: I would be happy to!
After finishing our drinks, I drop Touma to his bed, and go towards the CSD (Cardiovascular Surgery Department). But, Dr. Kasumi is following me. I was sure that was not the case at first, as both CSD and EICU were in the same direction. But, instead of turning to the opposite side in the fork, he turns in my direction. WHAT IS GOING ON?! Oh god, stop, my heart...
Hana: Dr. Kasumi, I need to ask something. Do you have any work at the CSD? I can help you out with the menial tasks, if you ask.
Kasumi: ...
The silent intimidation! His dark prince cape never slides from him!
Kasumi: I need you to meet me in the outside in the evening. I have something to discuss with you.
...aand, there he goes, not listening to me. And, why the heck is he calling me to join him in the evening? The more I try to clear out my mind, the more it becomes tangled with his words. Guess I have no choice left. Maybe it’s something related to Touma?
Hana: ...Alright.
[Evening: Seimei Medical University Porch]
As I am sitting on the bench after completing the post OP rounds of some patients, a chilled can of coffee hits my cheek.
Kasumi: Here.
Holding two cans of coffee in his hands, he gives me one, and takes a seat beside me. Surprisingly, it’s my favorite flavor, mocha.
Hana: So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?
Kasumi: ...
Gazing at the children playing at a distance, he remains silent.
Hana: Dr. Kasumi, I am not a psychic that I can read your mind by telepathy. You have got to say something.
This time also, the response is nothing. Giving up, I look up at the sky, which is painted with a hue of orange and yellow. Gradually, the Sun sets, leaving a pinkish violet band spread in the horizon.
Hana: Look, Dr. Kasumi, the Belt of Venus! Now, you have to say the reas-
What leaves my mouth leaves me surprised. Clasping my mouth with my hand in order to shut it, I slowly move my fingers around the coffee can.
Kasumi: MC.
Hana: Dr. MC? What happened to her? Is she busy today?
Kasumi: You are MC, right? And that name ‘Hana’ is just a false one. Am I wrong?
Hana: You are getting it all wrong, Dr. Kasumi. Look at this hairpin, I am the new resident, not MC...
Kasumi: And what if I say that the hairpin you are wearing is the one you bought when you went to the zoo with me?
I can’t even dare to say a word. What exactly am I supposed to say? That “I am MC, I don’t know what’s going on here” ? I try to push another excuse.
Hana: This hairpin is common here! I think that Dr. MC may also have one at her home. Look, Dr. Kasumi, you might need some rest as you may be overexerting yourself. I will go and inform Dr. Kyogoku, okay?
As I get up from the bench, a sudden grab of my arm makes me stop.
Hana: ?
Kasumi: At least let me justify why I think of you as the MC.
Why those pure eyes? Was his pull not enough? Those eyes are my weakness, and I can’t resist his words.
Hana: Ok, I will listen to you.
Kasumi: Until yesterday, I was unsure myself that which one of you was my MC. The way you said that you are a new resident, all of us had no choice but to believe it as the truth. But when I saw you talking with Touma, that made me clear of your identity. Because my MC is a little childish, likes to get acquainted with patients, and...
Hana: and?
Kasumi: No wonder where you are, I can always recognize you.
His fingers intertwine with mine, and as I am about to reply, Kyogoku comes from the building.
Kyogoku: Kasumi, we have got hold of her true identity.
Without any delay and without loosening his hand, he drags me with him, and we all leave for the EICU. My mind which had turned to mess after all the things he said, was not working at all, so I stay silent to know the truth.
[Evening: Seimei University EICU]
There was she, Dr. MC. All the other doctors were also there. But, why were people from Metro Police Department standing there? And that to, handcuffing her? What the heck was going on while I was outside? Just as I was thinking, a police speaks up.
Police 1: Finally, this miscreant got caught.
Police 2: We are sorry for all the trouble she caused. We will make sure she gets the ‘reward’ for what she had done.
Police 3: Thank you for the help doctors! No wonder you all are jewels! Now, give us the permission to leave.
What the WHAT?! No one was in shock as me. She, A MISCREANT? So, inso and dreaming were not the reason?
Hosho: I am glad to see our MC back!
Takado: Oh, and how foolish of us to think that the silent impostor was this idiot. Never in life.
Ekuni: She didn’t even falter when we threw jokes on her.
Matsunaga: And here I thought, we are going to get two talented doctors... Although I am happy that you are the only precious girl of the EICU.
Kyogoku: Butthead, now you know who you are right?
{A/N: Now, Hana is the actual MC, so no need to use the fake name, otherwise who knows what will Kasumi think of me... ^^;)
MC: God, can anyone please explain what is going on... I might just pass out from the overdose of information.
Kyogoku: Apparently, she was a die-hard fan of Kasumi, or whatever it may be, and was super jealous of you. So she arranged all of this. Went through a plastic surgery to look exactly like you, changed your documents by adding a false name, just to take your place.
MC: Then, how you all figured it out?
Hosho: It was Kasumi who first told us that something was weird.
Takado: That how the office, which is a place of damn banters, was as silent as the sea. Although it was peaceful, it felt wrong.
Ekuni: She didn’t know her own schedule of scrub ins, and didn’t lash us out.
Matsunaga: And most importantly, I was not satisfied her response when I asked her to join me during breaks.
Kasumi: We all are aware of your behavior and your nature, so it was not long till we figured it out.
Kasumi: MC?
Ha... haha, my life. I will not hesitate to say that it is more intense than what happens in mangas. One can do this much only for jealousy?
MC: Thank god, thank god you all remember me. Here I thought I was in a parallel world and no one recognised me.
The doctors could sometimes lead me to release smoke from my ears out of fury, but nonetheless, they cared for me, and that’s what of value to me the most.
[Some days later: Touma’s garden]
{A/N: Again, a random picture}
Touma’s surgery is a success. On the day of the surgery, Kasumi volunteered to accompany me in it, as his schedule was open for the morning. The good thing is that he can still walk and talk, although now in wheelchair for some days of recovery. Me and Kasumi, to fulfill our promise to Touma, were leaded to Touma’s garden on the day we paid a home visit to him.
Can I say that the place is paradise? Tulips, lilies, hydrangeas, pansies, daffodils and all the varieties are lined in rows. Adjoining to it is the fruit garden, and beside it is the vegetable one. Huh, did I even know how to plant a sapling when I was of his age? Answer: no.
As I was appreciating the beauty sitting on the cool grass, a small flower is tucked into my hair. It is a Syringa Vulgaris. In other words, a small lilac.
Touma: This looks pretty on you.
MC: Oh, thank you Touma.
But, just after that, a flower crown is placed on my head.
Kasumi: And I think this looks even prettier.
MC: ...
My cheeks flare up crimson. Aww, just how cute are these two, adoring me like that! I can just float in the sky out of happiness,
MC: Thank you.
MC: Oh, but I wanted to ask something.
Kasumi: Sure.
MC: If you realized that I was the original piece, then why didn’t you recognize me in the office?
Kasumi: That’s because the other you submitted your reports just before you came. Did you notice that when you were about to submit the papers in your hand, it was not the original but only blank papers?
MC: ...No! Now that I think about it, I was so heartbroken at that time, that I didn’t even glance at it. And probably, she might have done it when I was in post OP rounds, and my documents were all laying on the table. Ah, the headache I felt there might be due to her making me unconscious using chloroform, because I found myself in the closet. God! And here I was thinking that I fainted due to overwork!! That chick, grrr...
Kasumi: Pfft, as expected.
MC: Don’t laugh at me! Well, how did you find the clue then? Even I was confused of my own identity. Didn’t your thoughts waver?
Kasumi: I got the first hint by the hairpin you had. I was pretty sure that it was the same one that you bought when we went to the zoo, and that you always kept it in your bag. But when I asked the other you about this, she just made excuses that she had left it at home. Further, you mentioned about Sora and also exclaimed when the Belt of Venus appeared, so my confirmation was strengthened.
MC: A prodigy you are, aren’t you?
Kasumi: No.
MC: Huh?
Kasumi: No matter which different identity you own, or wherever you may be, I can always recognize you, because you are the most important person to me in my life.
Seeing my blank face, he chuckles and a soft touch lands on my lips, like a feather fluttering on my skin.
MC: The same goes for me too. I can always recognize you anywhere, because you are the one I love the most.
As I see the dandelions dancing in the wind, the flowers, fruits and vegetables bathed with sunlight, and the smile of Kasumi, which I yearn the most, I realize something. That I am important to him and so is Kasumi to me. No matter whatever may come, I will always stay by his side, and support him with all my heart.
~
END.
{Author’s trivia: I actually woke up just after the scene where Kasumi realizes that she is his MC. So, I just added the after plot, to complete it.}
That’s it! I am telling you, I was myself feeling butterflies when writing the end part. So I am sure, the story will appeal you just like it appealed to me. Pure nature of Kasumi, dipped in honey felt words. But gahh, it felt so dramatic, the police and all... Let me know what you think. If any requests, feel free to drop it in the suggestion bowl. Have a good day ahead, and give your best everyday, just like our dark prince!

In Due Time.
Serial Killer/Yandere!Jeno x FTM!Reader
You woke up, the summer heat making your body sticky from sweat. You slowly sat up, grimacing.
You hated the summer with a passion but you were happy that you were able to show off your new chest since you got top surgery the beginning of this year.
Getting up, you took off your tank top and boxers and went to take a shower. Once you got out, you got dress for work.
You worked at a small bookstore and you loved working there. You got to read all the books you wanted to and for free at that while also getting discounts whenever you did decide to buy a book or two.
You threw on your book bag and headed out the door, making sure it was locked.
As you walked, you thought about the killings that were happening in your city. There was a serial killer on the loose and you would be lying if you didn’t say you weren’t scared. Knowing that the killings were in your city didn’t really help with your mental health and as you were already mentally ill to begin with, let’s just say it fucked with your already bad paranoia and anxiety.
Most of the victims were women though but that still didn’t stop you from being scared. It still didn’t stop the bad scenarios that would enter your mind before you fell asleep.
One wrong turn in an alley and you could wind up dead…
Oh how you hated your mind.
You yawned, covering your mouth as you made it to the bookstore.
You opened the door and was greeted with a rush of cool air, thankful that the air conditioner was on.
Heading to the back of the store, you put your items away and your ears twitched as it heard the bell to the front door ring.
A customer.
You dusted off your shirt and walked out of the back and into the front of the store, taking your spot at the register.
There was a young man with dyed blonde hair walking around, just checking the books out. Taking one out and reading a bit of it or the back of it and repeating this process.
You took out your phone, scrolling on twitter, laughing at memes when you felt a presence before you.
You looked up and gulped.
It was the young man and my god was he handsome.
“I like to buy these books.” he smiled, his eyes turning to crescents and you smiled back, nodding as you took the books to ring them up.
It was 3 books, 2 about psychology and 1 on hypnosis and you didn’t really think much about it.
“And here’s your change!” you chirped and the blonde boy smiled once more at you.
“Thank you.” he said before headed out the door.
You couldn’t help what you did next.
You squealed on twitter about the handsome customer.
~~ The next day at work the handsome young man came in again, looking around the store once more.
You sat at the register reading a book when you felt his presence again.
Looking up, you were met with a bright smile.
“Um, I wanted to ask you a question.” You closed the book and nodded at him.
“Ask away.” you smiled.
“I um… I was wondering if you would like to go out for coffee sometime?” he asked bashfully and you were shocked.
This couldn’t be happening.
This handsome man could not be asking you out.
“W-what?” “Coffee. Would you like to go for coffee sometime?” he repeated and still in a daze, you nodded.
“Sure.” you responded and the smile that was already on his lips grew.
“I’m Jeno.” “Y/n.”
You 2 exchanged numbers and after talking for a bit longer, Jeno left the store.
~~ As you waited at the booth for Jeno, your eyes were glued to the television in the cafe.
“And in breaking news, the dismembered body of a 23 year old graduate student was found in the river today. Luna Kim was has said to have been missing for 2 days. Friends say that during the night of her disappearance, she went home with an unidentified man at a night club. Detectives say this seems to be the work of the Hatchet Killer. If you have any details on this case, please call your local police.”
You felt a chill go down your spine.
Poor girl, you thought.
It was always sad when someone died but to be murdered? That was way that you never wanted to go.
Lost in your thoughts, you jumped as you heard a deep, “Hey.” Looking up, you saw Jeno smiling as he took a seat at the booth.
“Hey.” “I didn’t mean to scare you.” he laughed.
“No, it’s fine. I was just thinking about the Hatchet killings. They found another body today.” Jeno’s face fell.
“Really? Damn...” “I know. God, I hate it here. People can be so evil when they want to be, taking someone’s life in cold blood is just so… inhumane. It’s so wrong like how can anyone even do that?” you rambled and Jeno nodded, agreeing with you.
“Yeah. It’s terrible how evil this world can be sometimes...”
A small smile come on face.
“Do you want to order now?” and you nodded, wanting to get this date started.
You both got up and stood in line, talking to each other.
Jeno was a student in psychology and sociology. He liked studying about the topics on his off time which is why he came in the other day and bought those 2 books about psychology.
You on the other hand was a graduated student, going to school to become a librarian.
“If I could, I would live in a library. Seriously, I’m not joking!” which made Jeno laugh.
You 2 ordered your meals and sat back down, talking more.
You talked about what your hobbies were, how you had a pat cat named Catkitty and how you were teaching yourself the bass guitar out of boredom.
Jeno told you about his hobbies as well, how he liked conducting psychological experiments sometimes and that sparked your interest.
“What do you do exactly?” “I can’t really say anything or my professor will get mad at me.” he rubbed the back of his neck and you backed off.
“Wait. If you study psychology, why did you buy a book on hypnosis?” and Jeno shrugged.
“It looked interesting.” he answered, taking a sip of his ice coffee.
“Oh. Okay.” You 2 ate and chat for a long time and eventually the sun started to set.
“Wow, we’ve been in here for 3 hours...” you commented. “I should go. I hate going home in the dark.” you said, getting up to leave. “Let me walk you home then.” Jeno got up as well.
You agreed and seeing as you 2 already paid for your meals, you both left the cafe.
As the sun set and the sky became dark, the air around you became cool and as you 2 walked backed to your apartment, you talked and laughed away, enjoying each others company.
Jeno seemed like the perfect man to you. He was charming, funny, handsome. He was the total package and you couldn’t believe he asked you out and that you were having a great time with him.
Sighing as you made it to your apartment, you turned around, deciding to give him a quick peck on the cheek.
“Um.” you started, looking down at the floor. “I had a great time today.” your cheeks heated up as you looked up at him.
You was always so shy, you really couldn’t help it at times.
Jeno’s crescent eye smile came into view as he said, “Well, thank you for agreeing to go out with me. I hope we can go out again?” he asked and you nodded.
“I would like that.”
~~ Some months has passed since you and Jeno started dating. Everything seemed perfect. A little too perfect and for these pass 2 weeks, you couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.
You couldn’t tell if it was your paranoia messing with you or your instincts warning you but you just had a feeling something was about to happen.
Jeno had been acting… strange as of late.
His usually calm but bright personality was being replaced by a more irritable and stressed personality.
He was snap at you for no reason these days and even manipulated you into not seeing your friends when you wanted to go out last Friday.
It was weird and something was off with the man you loved.
At the same time, the Hatchet killings seemed to have stopped at the moment and that made you sleep a bit easier at night.
But even with that one good thing, you still couldn’t shake the feeling of dread you felt whenever you saw your boyfriend now.
Sitting on your couch and writing a story, you heard a knock on your door.
Looking up, you got up and went to the door, looking through the peephole to see your boyfriend.
You opened the door, a small smile on your lips and you stepped to the side to let him in.
Jeno took off his jacket and shoes, kissed you on the lips and went to take a seat on your couch.
You sat back down, grabbing your laptop and continued writing again.
“Whatcha writing?” he asked and you grinned.
“It’s a story about a this girl trapped in another dimension of reality where some of the inhabitants are zombie like monsters while the other are a cult that sacrifices other people to the “God” of their reality so they won’t turn into the monsters but that “God” is actually a bug like alien from space. I’m still thinking of the details of the story though but I’m calling it Siren.” “That’s really ambitious. I love that about you.” “Why thank you.” you said and continued where you left off on your story.
You were so use to Jeno coming over to your house that you didn’t think about why he was here, only loving that he wasn’t snappy today.
Everything seemed normal, that is until he brought up the Hatchet killings out of the blue.
“So, Hatchet Killer seems to be taking a bit of a break huh?”
You stopped typing and looked up at him.
“I guess so. Honestly, I’ve been able to sleep well knowing that the killings haven’t happened in about a month or so. It’s nice to be able to run to a 7/11 at 2 in the morning to get a slushie again haha!” you laughed and Jeno laughed with you.
“Yeah. I’ve been looking into his case, well, more like I’ve been looking through my dad’s files since he’s a detective working on the case and it seems really interesting. They think he’s a student since all of the victims are college age and that he stalks his victims before kidnapping and killing them.” “Hmm. Is that so?” “Yeah.” “Why do you bring this up?” “I’m just… I don’t know, stressed? I haven’t been able to do my experiments since we started dating and I got bored so decided to look into the case since I know you’re pretty interested in it too.” which you were but still… with you gut feelings and him bringing the case up out of the blue, something just felt… off.
“Well, why can’t you do your experiments?” you asked him and he sighed.
“Mostly because I’ve been spending my days with you. You always occupy my thoughts you know. I wake up thinking of you and I go to sleep thinking of you. I dream about you every night too.” and you frowned slightly, that unshakable feeling gripping you.
“Really.” “Mhm.” he hummed sliding closer to you, so close that your noses were touching.
“Come on Y/n… I know you’re smarter than this.” he said, his face blank and an unreadable emotion in his eyes.
“What? What are you talking about?”
Jeno took you laptop, closed and placed it behind him. One of his hands rubbed your exposed thigh as he said.
“I know that you’ve notice that I’ve been on edge lately. I also know that you’ve been snooping around my room because of it.” you gulped.
You have been curious as to why he’s been acting strange lately so you did look around his room a couple of times to find anything out of the ordinary. The only thing you found were a pair of handcuffs and that was it.
“H-how do you know that?” and Jeno smirked.
“I have cameras around my house, including my room. You remember that bear I gave you?” you nodded, becoming scared as he talked. Jeno had an intimidating side to him and it scared you deeply.
“The eyes have a cameras in the. My friend Renjun made it for me.” “What?! Why would you do that?!” you asked in shock, your voice rising.
“To always keep an eye on my love. I’ve always had kept an eye on you and you letting me into your life just made it easier.”
You tried to get up but was forced back down back Jeno, his hands at your side.
“I know that you think I’m the Hatchet Killer. And you know what? You’re right. I am the Hatchet Killer and I’ve been so stressed because I haven’t been to kill anyone since dating you.” Jeno closed his eyes, took a deep breath, let it out and tighten his grip on you, opening his eyes back up. “You’re too smart for your own good, you know that baby boy. I’ll admit though, my acting got worse the more I got stressed but I did had you fool for a while didn’t I?” he grinned and you began struggling in his grasp. You wanted to get out of there or to at least have this all be a dream.
“Don’t worry. I’m not gonna kill you. I can never go that far with you. But I will have to give you some rules, just so I can continue doing my experiments without you running off with someone else.
“1. Ditch all of your friends and family. I’m the only man that should ever be in your life now, the only man you should care and worry about. 2. If you talk about your friend Mark, I’ll torture right in front of you. 3. You should love me and only me. Think of only me. Do you understand?”
You had stop struggling by then and nodded your head, tears forming in your eyes.
Jeno smiled.
“Good boy. Now, these rules are simple and easy to follow but if you break any of them, I will have to punish you. You don’t want to be punished now don’t you baby boy?” he cooed and you choked out a yes.
“Good. Now pack your things. You’re gonna live with me for now on. Plus, it’ll be easier to train you if you lived with me.”
Jeno wasn’t going to train you.
He was going to break you. Break your mind and turn you into a docile pet that depended on him and only him. He’s been watching you for so long, for 3 years now and planned this meretriciously while also running his little “psychology experiments”. What he didn’t expect to happen, was to become more obsessed with you than he already was.
He knew he was obsessed, it was just he didn’t think he was so obsessed that he stopped one of the few hobbies that gave him joy in his life just to spend time with you, but no matter. You’ll learn to love this life and him in due time.
You were his new joy.

Jotaro - Possessed
This is cross-posted from Wattpad and available on AO3. This was my first fanfiction, the writing has improved ever since.
Enjoy~
It was a normal day for Y/N and the crusaders. You were all aboard a boat for a day or two to join your destination.
You all decided to reunite at a certain hour to discuss your plan and what to do, but in the mean time, everyone was doing their own things.
Kakyoin and Jotaro were sunbathing in their uniforms, Polnareff was chasing some cute girls to pick up, Abdul and Joseph were getting some light drinks, and you, you were just strolling around the boat, having some time for yourself since it gets tiring being around men all the time.
You were walking along a hallway when you suddenly bumped into someone running around the corner, both of you falling on your backs.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry miss! Are you okay?" said the man while scrambling to get over you and check you out for injuries.
"Ugh... I-I'm fine.." you groaned as you opened your eyes, only to find the face of the man merely inches away from yours. You blushed a bit at the closeness "Um... " you muttered quietly at the man.
"You sure ?" He suddenly put his palm over your forehead, leaning a little bit more "Your face is red, aren't you a little bit sick?"
'Who is this guy??' you thought to yourself, confused at the behavior.
"No, no I'm fine, thank you, can you get off of me now please?" you said quickly, almost in a panic.
"Oh! Of course miss, my bad!" He finally got up and away from you very slowly, almost lingering. "Be careful little lady..."
You almost pushed him out of the way as you got up and hurried away from him, ignoring his last statement.
'Jeez, what is wrong with that guy? Some people are weird, man...' You thought to yourself a bit freaked out as you felt the guy's eyes still on you.
Later during the day, all the Crusaders got together in Abdul and Joseph's cabin to talk about future plans, where to go to next, new discoveries made by Hermit Purple and whatnot.
"So there might be one or more stand users in this very boat. Let's all keep our guards up." inquired Joseph to the group.
"Of course, let's search the ship in groups according to our stands abilities." added Kakyoin.
"I suggest Kakyoin and Polnareff since their stands could team up greatly with a good offense/defense ratio. Mr. Joestar and myself together as well." Abdul said.
"Good idea." said Kakyoin "So that means...." he trailed off, looking at you
"That means I'll team up with Jonathan!"
. . . Silence.
Everyone had a confused look on their faces while Joseph eyes widened like saucers.
You then realized what you said and got horrified.
"Wh- JOTARO! I meant Jotaro!!" You frantically said while putting a hand over your mouth.
No reaction from the men. You started to feel very flustered and added awkwardly.
"I-I don't know why I even said that haha.. I-I don't even know a Jonathan..."
The tension was horrible to bear. No one made a sound. That was weird. You weren't usually one to slip up like that.
"Hahaha... I must be tired haha.." you tried to laugh it off, to lighten the mood, but you could not ignore Joseph's hard stare on you.
As you couldn't take it anymore, so you got up from your seat on one of the beds and went on your way towards the door.
"Anyway, I'll go first, join me later Jojo.." and just like that you were gone.
The others tried to shake it off, like it was nothing, but Joseph was uneasy from the ordeal. He felt like something was wrong, and it wasn't just about getting the wrong name. Jotaro felt it too.
The whole day went like this, with everyone searching in vain, and with you slipping up every now and then, saying weird unusual things, and acting oblivious about it seconds later. That perked everyone up, but nobody knew what that was all about.
Until later, in the evening, everyone reunited again in the same cabin as before to report. Nobody could find anything suspicious on the boat. Not even Hierophant Green who scanned the entire ship.
Everyone was a little bit on edge to not find anything... It was too calm, too easy.
"I'm worried..." you started.
"We did everything we could... Or maybe there really is no one against us in here." said Kakyoin calmly.
"But then that would mean the stand user seen by Hermit Purple was not sent by Lord Dio..."
That was the kicker.
Everyone flinched and your eyes widened at your own choice of words. Something was terribly wrong with you today, and they had to figure it out.
In a matter of a second, before you could even react, Jotaro, who was sitting beside you, forcefully grabbed your wrists and pinned you to the bed, immobilizing you instantly.
"W-WAIT!!! THIS IS A MISUNDERSTANDING!!! I NEVER MET DIO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME!!" You screamed, panicked, trying to sound as sincere as you could while struggling against his grasp.
Although It was true, with everything going against you and your weird behavior all day, you were hard to believe.
Kakyoin and Polnareff were speechless, Abdul was sweating while preparing to reluctantly summon Magician Red at any second if necessary. Joseph was glaring hard at you, not wanting to believe you could have been a traitor this whole time.
You were shaking like a leaf underneath Jotaro, who's expression was unreadable. You were panting heavily with anxiety. You tried to argue again.
"P-please!! It's true! I don't know what's happening today, I'm as confused as you are, but I swear on my own bloodline, I'm not a servant of Dio! I don't even know what he looks like I-" You cut yourself off.
At this point you could not prove your innocence, so in desperation you tried to look at the ones who were the most likely to believe you.
"Kakyoin... You believe me right..?" you called weakly, your voice cracking. He avoided your glance, not knowing what to think anymore. You turned your head to the left where Joseph was.
"Mr Joesta-" You were suddenly cut off by two strong hands cupping your face and making you look in front of you. It was Star Platinum holding you still.
"Wh-what are you d-"
"Don't move." Jotaro interrupted. He moved his hands so that he had both your wrists on one hand and brushed his other through your hairline only to find a fleshbud stuck in.
The other men were shocked at this discovery. So you were indeed under Dio's command... But how?
Confused and scared you wanted to ask what was going on. You eyed the others, asking silently for answers. You felt the pressure on your cheeks lessen and Jotaro replaced Star's hand with his own.
"Y/N, look at me." The dark haired male ordered.
"Jojo..." You were terrified, but trusted him with whatever he was thinking.
You tried to stay still while Star Platinum worked his surgery on you to remove the evil appendice. You couldn't help but but cringe a little and hold your hitching breath as you could feel everything.
It lasted seconds that felt like hours to you, Jotaro's beautiful ocean eyes conforted you through the operation. He was always so harsh, but his eyes held something precious and warm that eased you. Even the hand that held your face felt like a warm caress.
With a sharp burning pain, Star removed the parasyte while you let out a groan. When Star Platinum finally got rid of it you let out a breath of relief.
And just like that you blacked out.
Jotaro got up from his previous position while saying quietly "She went to sleep...". He was smart and perceptive, he figured you weren't always possessed. No, this was recent, and there is a stand user on board. He figured you must have met them and they were the cause of all of this.
"So what do we do now, we wait until she wakes up and explain?" asked Polnareff still very unsure of what's going on.
"Something doesn't add up. If she was sent by Dio, she would have attacked us straight up, or when we expect it the least. She had many occasions to do so. This is strange, I don't get it." added Kakyoin, trying to find a plausible explanation to all of this.
Joseph agreed "I don't believe she's a traitor either, but we'll have some questions to ask her when she wakes up anyway. I'll stay with her, you guys go do a last check up to see if anything unusual happens."
Everyone nodded and went again on another exploration. Now they know that if that stand user can put people into Dio's submission, they'll have to be extra careful and ready to meet not one, but many obstacles.
Long hours have passed when you woke up, only to find Joseph sitting at the edge of the bed where you passed out, but now covered with a blanket and some bandages around your head.
"Mr. Joestar..." you croaked out, a bit of sadness and guilt in your voice. He looked at you with genuine worry, glad that you woke up.
"Oh Y/N you're awake! How are you feeling? Nothing hurts?"
He was always so nice to you, to the boys and even to strangers. Joseph always felt like a caring father to you, which made you feel even more guilty. You shook your head in response.
"Mr. Joestar... Did I... Betray you..?" you couldn't look into his eyes as you said those last words. His expression turned serious and he gazed in front of him.
"No, you didn't. If anything, you're the victim here. Do you remember anything unusual that happened today?"
You couldn't think of anything for a moment until you remembered that weird encounter from that morning, when you bumped into that tacky man.
Your eyes widened in realization. You gasped and Joseph noticed that. As he was about to ask you what was wrong you sat up and exclaimed.
"That guy! It was him!! He's the one who infected me! That fucking bastard, he's so dead." You angrily threw the covers and got up, ready to find that guy and beat his ass.
Before you could storm out Joseph grabbed your arm, stopping you.
"Wait Y/N, explain, what's going on? What happened?"
And so you explained everything that happened that morning, with the guy bumping into you, acting like a creep. You told him how he got very close and touched your forehead too.
"I see..." Joseph pondered, "So that's when he put the fleshbud on you, you didn't feel anything because you were so distracted by his behavior...It's okay, let's calm down and get the others so we can chase him down. You remember his face, right?"
You nodded, now calmer than you were minutes before, thanks for Joseph and his reassuring demeanor. You two then went to get the others, only to find them grabbing a bunch of random people by the collar and beating the shit out of them, and Kakyoin trying to reason them in vain.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Yelled Joseph as he saw the chaos before him.
"We can't find the culprit so we're just punching everyone until one of them admits." Jotaro said like it was common sense, and Polnareff nodded like the supporting friend he was.
Joseph was so done with his grandson's bullshit, so you just got up to them saying that there was no need to, since you knew who was the guy.
Upon realizing that you were awake and safe, Jotaro just threw the guy he was holding over God knows where and just came to you with Kakyoin following.
"Y/N good to see you back! You scared us, you know?" Said the cherry-haired male with a soft smile. He then leaned in close and whispered.
"Jojo won't admit it, but he was worried sick, never saw him walk so fast to beat someone up." he added with a little snicker.
You blushed a bit at this. Really? Jotaro was worried about you? You tried to look at the male for confirmation, but he was looking the other way, efficiently hiding his face.
He just lead the way with his hands in his pockets, acting like he didn't care when he was secretly happy you were okay. It was kinda cute.
At one point, you were all strolling on of the hallways when you saw something that piqued your attention. A scene that felt like 'déjà vu'.
A few feet away from you, that same guy from before, bumped into a random woman, and was now leaning close to her to touch her forehead.
At this, you sprinted down the hall, taking out your stand to attack him.
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER YOU PSYCHO!"
The guy tried to jump back to dodge your stand, but is was too late. You violently pinned him to the wall of the hallway. You glanced at the woman who already had a fleshbud on her forehead.
'Shit!'
The woman ran away, but Joseph and Polnareff were quick to react and ran after her.
"Leave it to us!" Yelled the french man, running off.
As you were distracted by the possessed woman, you didn't notice the guy getting away from your stand's grasp, and kicked you hard in the stomach, sending you stumbling backwards and falling into the solid chest of Jotaro who caught you.
You couldn't even say his name since your breath was cut by the impact. He just put his hands on your shoulders as you coughed while muttering a 'yare yare daze'.
The other crusaders joined your side to help you out, since they knew that even if you were strong, you really didn't like fighting or using violence.
"Huh? And who might you be? Ohh aren't you the cute little lady from this morning? Sad to see you didn't want to join us. Lord Dio treats us reeeaal nice~" the man sneered.
"I swear to fucking god-"
"How many people have you infected so far?" Kakyoin cut you off, scared that you might let yourself consumed by unnecessary anger.
"Oh? You don't wanna know how I do it? Don't worry about how many colleagues I have here, they're all probably with your two boy friends, having the time of their life."
"So how do you do it? I doubt it is just a stand. Did Dio lend you that ability so you can recruit new slaves in his stead?" said Abdul while scanning the guy, trying to find any flaws in his posture and manners, any potential weakness.
"Ooooh you got it first try! I like my men smart~" the guy said with a disgusting tone "I might just take you for Lord Dio."
And as he said that, he launched at Abdul and spread out tentacle-like vectors that the Egyptian recognized as the same ones Dio had when he met him.
"Abdul watch out!!" Kakyoin tried to warn him.
It happened so fast he didn't have time to summon Magician Red. You just tackled Abdul out of the way, while the guy fled the scene. Jotaro ran after him at lightspeed without even thinking twice.
"Jojo!!" you screamed as you wanted to go too, but Abdul held you there.
"Let me go Abdul! I can restrain that guy with my stand!"
"Don't act reckless Y/N, trust Jotaro on this, he can manage. You've already done enough for today."
"He's right Y/N, he'll be okay, let's go find Mr. Joestar and Polnareff they might need us more." Added Kakyoin, trying to reason you.
They were right, you thought. You wore a worried expression as Abdul helped you up.
After you reunited with Joseph and Polnareff, Kakyoin, Abdul and you managed to neutralize every enslaved passenger.
You were waiting for Jotaro to come back and remove all the fleshbuds, but the parasytes just dislocated themselves from their hosts and scrumbled away like insects.
The stand user could probably not control them anymore, which meant Jotaro succeeded.
Jojo finally came back while dragging Dio's underling like a potato sack, looking like a bloody pulp.
"Eeeewwww!! Disgusting! What did you do to his face, Jotaro?!" Joseph exclaimed while squirming. This was not a pretty sight, and the old man was squeamish.
"Jeez, you didn't go easy on him" said Kakyoin with a knowing look. "I wonder why..." he subtly glanced at you, then back at Jotaro, suggesting something.
Jotaro just clicked his tongue and blushed a faint color as he threw the guy over at the group.
"Just do whatever you want with him, I'm tired." he turned on his heels and started walking away while the others -more like Polnareff- were taking great pleasure in planning what they could do to him for revenge, as if being almost killed by Star Platinum's fists wasn't enough.
You just followed Jotaro while calling him.
"Jojo...!" He stopped and waited for you to catch up.
"Jojo... You... You knew that I wouldn't betray you? You actually trusted me?"
He didn't say anything, but his sea colored eyes answered for you. Your expression turned soft in gratefulness.
He believed in you, even when you were obviously acting like a traitor, he immediatly searched for Dio's appendice, knowing you would never betray him.. He trusted you. That thought alone filled your heart with love and appreciation.
"You saved me... Again. How can I thank you?" your soft voice and expression made him feel some kind of way. You were just too cute. He couldn't believe what he was about to say.
"Kiss me." He commanded, his voice and expression not faltering. You thought you heard wrong.
"... I didn't catch that, can you repeat?" You asked, genuinely unsure if you actually heard what you heard.
He suddenly approached you, the closer he got, the faster your heart was beating. His huge build towered over you.
"You heard me" he confirmed.
Your face and ears were burning, you couldn't believe this was happening. But this was your chance, he offered his consent, this was no time to ask questions, even if you had a thousand right now.
You shyly raised your arms to grab his collar, and looked around to make sure nobody was here to watch. God this was embarassing. You slowly pulled him down and got on your tiptoes, trying to reach for his perfect lips.
You succeeded as you gave him a tiny peck, short-lived, but full of love. You thought you could pass out from all the blood running to your face. But before you could let go of him, he wrapped his arms around your waist and captured your lips once again, in a longer, more desperate kiss.
You were loosing balance so your wrapped your arms around his neck, which deepened the kiss even more. It was bliss until you had to part for some well deserved oxygen.
"Jotaro..." You breathed in his neck "I didn't know..."
This small gesture made his heart skip a beat. He rarely ever felt so much love, and warmth, to which responded by squeezing you harder against him, like you were a soft pillow.
"I couldn't find the right time." He muttered quietly.
You both just stayed like this. Enjoying each other's warmth. It felt so right. Like two fitting puzzle pieces. You couldn't be more happy at the moment. Nothing could ruin it.
"Eeeewwww get a room you two!!"
... Except this.
You both separated, startled by an obnoxious voice coated with a French accent. You were even more embarassed at the fact that everyone witnessed this.You were hiding your face and Jotaro just glared daggers at Polnareff who was smirking.
"Finally, you got the balls to do it Jojo. Glad I didn't have to force it out of you." commented Kakyoin, his inner fanboy pleased.
The two other men just wore wholesome smiles on their faces. Glad to see something positive in this ordeal.
Jotaro just muttered his signature "Yare yare daze" as he grabbed your hand and got away from these nosy eyes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You knew it was the right thing to do. You couldn't remember much about the things that transpired on that day, but you knew you owed that man something in return. As you try to remember his features, his actions, his name- all you could remember was his eyes filled with desperation. You could get lost in a forest filled with beautiful trees but none of the trunks could compared to his brown colored eyes. His hooded eyes were full of emotions on that day, at that moment. You didn't know him, but in that split second that you saw his eyes you felt as if you knew him for the longest time. They say the eyes were the window to your soul, and in that moment you felt as if your soul and his were one.
You woke up to nothing. You knew this day will ultimately change you life. You were still confined in the hospital after the events that happened, and it was a miracle that you're still alive and breathing. Recovering from the injuries wasn't an easy process, but you managed to heal well. The only things you had on your body aside from your hospital gown were your hospital bracelet and 2 casts, one on your right and one on your left.
As you were playing with the plastic flower propped in your bedside table, you're mind was lost in thought of the man- his whereabouts, his current status, how he was coping, and the like. A soft knock interrupted your train of thought followed by the voice of a female nurse, nurse Jane as what you can recall, greeting you with a beaming smile.
"Good morning (Name)!" "Good morning nurse Jane." Your response held no emotion. Everything you can see- the color of her scrubs, the wheelchair she was bringing, the walls in your hospital room, the plastic flower- you took in for the last time, since today would be the last time you’d be able to see.
Nurse Jane, on the other hand, did not let your emotionless reply go unnoticed. "I know you wanted to do this, but are you really okay with it? If you wish not to proceed, I can always tell the hospital staff to discharge you instead." She suggested.
You chuckled, "Sure I won't be able to see from this day on, but I can manage. Besides, that man saved me, this is the least I can do to save him."
Nurse Jane nodded, "Okay. I will escort you to the surgery room now, I hope all will go well. We are all here for you in your recovery process." She then proceeded to help you get on the wheelchair.
The trip to the surgery room felt long though it only took 5 minutes. In that short amount of time, nurse Jane tried to engage some small talk with you, but you only tuned her out since you tried to take in everything for the last time. There were kids in the hallway, some smiling and some giving you questioning looks, but you didn't mind since this was the last time you'd see the beauty in all you could see. If you were being honest, you wanted to back out the moment you were in front of the surgery room. But then you remembered your reason as to why you chose to do this. You knew this was the right thing to do.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The man woke up to hushed voices in his hospital room. He knew he was okay, but one thing seemed very off to him.
"Guys?" The hushed voices halted. "Can you please turn the lights on? I can't see you right now." The man requested.
"Um, hyung, you see..." Taehyun started off calmly,
The man could hear the uncertainty and worry in Taehyun's voice. I am perfectly fine right? He thought. But he couldn't help but think something was wrong, and he was starting to get anxious by the second, "What? What is it?"
Another unrecognizable voice started to speak, "You see-"
"-that's the doctor in-charge hyung-" Kai, who was right beside him all along, saw his question look and decided to answer his question in mind.
"-you managed to get out the accident unharmed, but unfortunately, you bumped your head pretty hard on the pole as you pulled that person you tried to save and you damaged some nerves connecting to your eyes. You're practically blind right now, and the only way to fix it is through surgery. Which is what we were discussing before you woke up."
"What?" he asked dumbfoundedly, "I can't possibly be blind right? I just bumped into the pole and blacked out, there's no way I could've possibly damage anything. What about our showcases? How can I practice when I can't see? Why can't I see?! What's happening?! This can't be a joke right? Haha nice joke guys you really can't be turning off the lights right now I could hear the cars outside-"
"That's the thing Yeonjun-hyung! You can only hear them, but you can't see them. You're literally in front of your window right now." Soobin said with a mixture of annoyance and sadness.
Yeonjun was devasted to find out that he was blind. Not only can't he see his fans anymore, but he can't live and not see the world he has yet to see. One year in to his career, and now this?
As Yeonjun thought of all the things that may happen from the on, he started to recall why he became like this in the first place. At the time he went in to save her, he perfectly mapped out how he could get out without any injury. He thought of pulling her back towards him to prevent anything else from happening, but what didn't cross his mind was how strong colliding bodies could cause a great imbalance to his stance. And that's how he bumped hard on the street light pole behind him, curse that street pole. He barely got her alive, but at least she was still alive as paramedics went in to get him and her.
"Hyung," Beomgyu spoke softly, "This isn't the end you know. The doctor said so himself, you have an option, and that's surgery. We just found out earlier that you had a donor. The donor requested we need not know him, or her, but we're grateful for his or her sacrifice. The fans will understand hyung, you'll need to rest after surgery though, but I know MOA will be supportive in your recovery process. So, what do you think? Will you go for it?"
Yeonjun, although blind, felt all eyes were on him now. He knew their eyes were filled with hope and desperation. He had to make a choice at that moment. He didn't want to deprive the donor of his or her sense of sight, being able to see was one of the greatest gifts given to human kind. But he also didn't want to disappoint or burden anyone, especially his groupmates and his fellow fans.
"Okay. I'll do it."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few months and many lifestyle adjustments later, you were back on track. Post-operation felt like hell, since you had to ask everyone for help in many things. It was a good thing your sister and friends were there for you every step of the way. After being discharged from the hospital, you immediately started braille lessons. If there's one thing you wanted to enhance significantly post-surgery, it was your sense of touch. That was one way you could identify someone or something, but you had to start from somewhere. You were yet to find out the name of the man, but you decided not to know who he was since there was no point- you wouldn't be able to see him.
And here you were, walking alongside your guide dog Neko in the park near your home. It was already afternoon and you just finished braille lessons a few minutes ago so you decided it was high time you'd go to the park, because why not? You passed by a cafe when you heard someone say, "No way. Bin, that was the girl I tried to-" and deciding not to eavesdrop even more, you continued on your walk towards the park. You ordered Neko to escort you to a bench near the fountain, it was the same bench you sat on that fateful day.
Flashback "For the last time Mom, I won't send in money unless I know the real reason behind it. Who knows, you might use it for drugs, again."
You had enough of your mom calling and begging. Although she promised to get well, you knew better that she wasn't getting any help.
Deciding that it was time you’d go home and take a rest, you stood up almost too stiffly and started walking back home. It was already late at night and you didn't pay that much attention to anything else. It all became muscle memory to you every time you walk back to your apartment, but you were still unaware with everything that was happening around you. You were so deep in thought that you didn't notice you were walking towards traffic. The last thing you heard was a long, loud honk, a voice calling out to you, and before you blacked out, you saw those deep, dark brown eyes.
End of flashback
Dark brown eyes. That was the only thing that stood out in your memory. You had the same shade of brown as what that man had, maybe that's why you were so captivated by them. But before you knew it, you blacked out. You were thinking hard and long about what happened on that day, and how that man saved you, but before you even had the chance to think deeper and deeper, you felt Neko wagging his tail beside you.
"What is it boy? What do you see?" You asked your dog, knowing damn well that he couldn't talk back to answer you. On heightened senses, you felt no sunlight casting on you, immediately thinking that someone was right in front of you. Assuming the worst that could happen, you immediately held on to Neko and, with a brave voice, started talking defensively.
"Look, I don't have much to give to you right now. I'm just trying to have a peaceful day, please don't take anything- even my dog- away from me. I only have a few dollars in me and no card and I just want to have a peaceful day please reconsider before you steal anything from me-"
"Woah woah woah. I'm not gonna do anything to you don't worry." That voice. It sounded familiar, "You look like someone I know and I just wanted to ask a few things, if you don't mind." very familiar. But you couldn't pinpoint who it was.
All doubt was gone and you trusted this man, whoever-he-is, so you complied to his request. "Sure, ask away."
"Um, this may sound very weird but, you look like the girl that I tried to save from a car crash a few months ago. I just wanted to make sure if it was you, though, the girl I saved months ago wasn't- here I say it- blind. But you really look like her though!-" The man said, rushing his last sentence in order to make it clear to you that he only had good intentions in his quest to find out if you were the girl he tried to rescue.
You'd be lying if you said you weren't shocked at all. Was this really the man that saved you? His voice did sound like that person who called out to you on the day of your crash. And to add to your thoughts, he wasn't ever supposed to see you again. You didn't want the man to know you were the one who donated your eyes for him. As your thoughts started to battle against each other, you asked him out of nowhere-
"Why did you save me that day?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeonjun was sitting on a cafe with his groupmates near the park where you lived. It was their day off, and they decided what better way to spend their day off than to go and relax at a cafe sipping Americano's. They were casually talking about everything that happened to them on the past few months, trying to catch up on anything that needed to be discussed. He was deep into the conversation between him and his groupmates when something caught his eye.
It was almost 4 in the afternoon when he saw you walk past them. The girl he saved a few months ago. Remembering that day, everything was still crystal clear in his mind.
Flashback Yeonjun was walking back to his dorm after a long tiring day, it was almost 10:30PM and he just finished polishing the dance break in which he had a hard time perfecting.
You walked past him in the opposite direction with a look of deep-thought. He didn't mind it though, but he wanted to know what your thoughts were behind those brown eyes. He couldn't believe someone had the same colored eyes as him, almost exactly the same. He knew himself too well, and when he saw your eyes, he felt as if the heavens just copy pasted his eyes to your face. It did have a difference, your eyes just had a glimmer that no one had, not even him. Maybe it was at that moment when he saw the emotions behind your eyes that you had that glimmer. That was technically the only difference you and him had, your eyes glimmer when you are feeling lots of emotions, his doesn't. And he believed in the same thing you ponder on, "the eyes are the windows ones soul."
As you walked past him, he saw every emotion behind it. It was filled mostly with anger mixed with sadness and confusion. He wanted to know more, but he wouldn't want to seem as if he was stalking you. He continued walking, and you continued walking as well. But he just had to look back at you, just to see if you were okay. You continued walking stiffly, but it was him who saw you walking towards traffic with a speeding car almost reaching you. He didn't hesitate to call you out, "Hey!", while running towards you.
"Shit." He said to himself. He couldn't stand the fact that in just a few seconds, a persons life will perish if he didn't do anything. He caught up to you on time, pulling you back towards him. He was happy that he got to you on time, but he didn't think it over properly either. He pulled you hard- almost too hard- towards him, and you ended up crashing hard on his chest resulting to him falling back and receiving a hard blow to his head by the pole behind him. You, on the other hand, also fell hard on the ground and fracturing your arm in the process. Your left leg, however, wasn't so lucky. Even if the man got there on time, the car already zoomed past you and in the middle of the heroic pull the man did, your left leg was still halfway through it and the car hit it. It took a few seconds for you to realize that when the man pulled you, you also hit your head hard on a street sign pole, curse that damn pole. You tried so hard to see who the man was, but the only thing (and the last thing) you saw, were his brown eyes.
End of flashback
What confused him was the fact that you were blind. He remembered clearly that you weren’t blind. He had a look of panic and immediately cut off whoever was talking, "No way. Bin, that was the girl I tried to save a few months ago! Or so I think she is her. Look." Yeonjun finished off while pointing towards you. The boys' gazes followed to who he was pointing at and sure enough, you were blind and walking alongside Neko.
"Are you sure though?" Soobin responded, "I mean it could be someone who really looks like her, you couldn't be too sure about it. Not unless you ask."
"Wouldn't it be weird if I just went up to her and asked her straight up? What if it isn't her? Or am I just assuming things-" Yeonjun started to argue but was immediately cut-off by Taehyun who said something that weighed him down,
"Wait. Hyung, I know this sounds crazy but, remember when the doctor said that you had a donor? And that she or he wishes to not inform us who she or he is? I know this sounds really weird and out of the blue but, hypothetically speaking-"
"Again with the deep words?" Beomgyu interjects,
"-shutup seaweed brain-"
"Guys, can we let Taehyun speak?" Soobin sighs, scolding the two boys bickering.
"-hypothetically speaking, what if she really IS the girl you saved a few months back? And when she found out you were blind, she got so guilty and burdened and decided to donate her eyes for you?"
The boys fell silent over this thought. The scenario was highly possible, since Yeonjun insisted that you really resembled the girl he tried to save a few months back. They wouldn't want to think of it that way, because then they'd feel burdened at the thought as well. They were doubtful, he was doubtful, but there was only one way to find out.
"Hyung," all eyes went to look at Kai, who spoke up for the first time after the long silence, "we wouldn't be so sure though. The situation IS likely, but you just have to ask her. We'll wait here, don't worry."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was all it took for Yeonjun to be there in front of you. After you asked that question to him, 1/2 of his and his groupmates' suspicion was true, you were the girl he saved a few months back. What he wasn't so sure was you donating your eyes for him, he was yet to find out the truth.
And before you knew it, you were seated in front of 5 guys at the cafe you walked passed by. They go by the name of Tomorrow x Together, a boy group in which you swore you heard somewhere. They all had introduced themselves individually. Kai and Yeonjun sat comfortably at your left and right respectively, Taehyun, Beomgyu, and Soobin in front of you. Neko was seated to your left, inand it felt as if Kai was playing with him.
After all of you had your introductions down, Yeonjun then explained to you and to the boys why he saved you. As you listened intently, you heard some snickering across the table. Of course you'd understand why some of the boys would find this funny and amusing, it really did sound cliche. But you didn't mind it though, you felt attached to him, he believed in what you believe in. While Yeonjun was narrating his story, there were occasional hums of responses from you and the other members- indicating that you were listening to every word he had to say. The deeper he got to his story, the more you became attached to him. You didn't want to say it, but deep down you believe in soulmates. And maybe in this universe you are living in, your eyes were the only way for you to find your soulmate.
A long silence followed shortly after Yeonjun finished his side of the story. After what seemed like forever, Soobin cleared his throat and then proceeded to say, "Wow. Um- okay- so-, so what now?"
You heard someone slap his forehead, as if he was embarrassed that their leader was being awkward and shy despite not having anything to be awkward and shy about. You all laughed though, clearly humored by the reaction. But Taehyun had to ask you something, once again silencing everyone on the table and direction all their attention towards you.
"Noona?"
"Yes?" You responded calmly.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you blind? Basing off of Yeonjun-hyungs story, you still had eyes to see. What happened?" Oh no. Oh no. You were definitely caught off-guard. You didn't want them to know, but they also needed an answer.
"Yeah noona," Kai then butted in, "you see earlier Tae had this theory that you were-"
"Ya. Kai. Enough. Let's not assume things." Beomgyu tried to silence the youngster, but you reassured him that you wanted to hear the so-called "theory" as well. You knew where the thought was leading to, but you just had to brace for it.
Yeonjun was now silent, possibly waiting for what you had to say after Kai explained what Taehyun “theorized” earlier that afternoon.
"As what I was saying, Tae had this theory that maybe you were the one who donated your eyes to Yeonjun-hyung. Since earlier he was so sure that your were the girl he saved a few months, maybe- just maybe - you got so guilty that he got blind while saving you. So you had to save him as well, by offering your eyes up for surgery."
Everyone seemed on edge after Kai recalled the thought. You sighed and faced towards Yeonjun.
"I know what you saw that day." You said timidly. And Yeonjun immediately knew what you meant, the glimmer in your eyes. But he couldn't piece up what you're trying to say.
You continued on, "Try to think of a moment in which you were at your happiest, or saddest, or angriest. And then look at a mirror."
You heard one of the boys get something from their bags, possibly a pocket mirror. The others still didn't quite catch on to what was happening, but a few seconds of silence later, you heard Yeonjun gasp. "No way. No way-"
"What you guys theorized was true. I did feel guilty. I was told you hit your head pretty hard, causing you to lose your vision. I felt burdened. Had I just focused on where I was going rather than thinking deeply of all the thoughts that went through my head that night, both of us would've had our eyes. Not one or the other. And yes, I did feel the same. We had the same colored eyes, but I knew mine would glimmer when I'm filled with emotions inside. And with the way you reacted, I guess they still do, even if they're attached to another persons body." You finished off your mini-speech with a big, heavy sigh. You felt the weight on your chest being lifted off, one in which didn't know you were holding on for so long.
It was only until then that the boys noticed the glimmer in Yeonjun's eyes- a glimmer in which they haven't ever seen before. So soulmates are real. Soobin thought to himself.
"I- We- Thank you so much (Name)." that was all that Yeonjun said.
You knew every emotion behind those words, you knew he was thanking you for a lot of things. Life in the spotlight would've been very different if Yeonjun was blind. He wouldn't have been able to dance with the guys like how he used to. He wouldn't have been able to see his fans who supported his group unlimitedly. And you were happy since you knew what you did was right all along. Even more so since you knew your soulmate was the one to take very good care of it.
Since then, you always hung out with them- tagging Neko with you always. Yeonjun held you closer every time you were together, both physically and emotionally. He'd always help you out on things, like fetching some water, or walking with you and Neko, or even being there for you when you needed someone to lean on- especially if it were problems regarding your mother. It eventually led to something more than just friends, and the boys weren't even surprised. They were jealous since, as Kai puts it, "We want soulmates too!"
You were happy, to say the least. Your courage didn't go unnoticed. You took a big risk. And in the end, it was all worth it.

[Masterlist] Pairing: BTS x reader Friends2Lovers But as slow as you can go until the anticipation kills us all… Genres: friendship, drama, romance SLOWEST OF BURNS BUT IT WILL BE BURNING AN ETERNAL FLAME!!! Rating: PG-13 and above Summary: Your brother works with a few BigHit dance teams and whilst having permission to accompany him at work the city shuts down banning anyone from stepping outside for a whole WEEK while they disinfect the streets. If you step outside you might get arrested, shot or poisoned by the chemicals they are emitting through the city. Words: 2.5k Announcement: 4 minutes to midnight I made it haha today was stressful, too many people had breakdowns from the quarantine, my sisters, much-needed surgery cancelled. many tears. Italics -Your point of view.
[Part 1] [Part 7] [Part 9] [Tag Yourself Here]
Seokjin watched you leave the elevator in a hurry. His heart sinking almost sickeningly into the pit of his stomach, he was in deep shit. There was no way you were going to talk to him ever again. Obviously, he had been reading the signs wrong.
The elevator returned him to his previous floor worry staining his perfect features. Slouching as he shuffled back into the dance studio, the others noticing his change in demeanour. He felt absolutely horrid, as he slid his body down the wall hanging his head in shame. The boys were shocked the Seokjin had such a pained expression.
“What happened?” Jimin briskly joined him trying to get some information. “I made a mistake, I have ruined everything” “What did you do?” Yoongi asked, taking this as his break from standing, sat, then promptly laid back on the wooden floorboards. “I kissed her” Yoongi got up faster than anyone had ever seen. “You what!?” A voice shouted thundering footsteps closed in until Seokjin was being lifted by his collar. “That’s my sister!”
They had no way of stopping the fist that connected with Seokjin's face but they quickly restrained b/n before he did any more damage. “How will we explain this to the Army?” Namjoon turned Seokjin's head back and forth. Looking at the swelling and bruising that had already started developing under his porcelain-like skin.
“I will get some ice” Hoseok briskly ventured off and b/n stormed off to find you. Jimin after listening to His Hyung’s retelling of events wondered what the big deal was, it was just a kiss and there was no evidence he said he covered the camera. Management wouldn’t find out.
Yoongi saw ideas hit Jimin like a freight train, “this is perfect, Quarantine means no paparazzi and as long as there are no security cameras we can do whatever we want” “You can’t do that, that’s what she is worried about being used and then forgotten” Taehyung picked at the lint on his pants, processing everything slowly. He started analysing every conversation they had shared. “She needs to trust us”
Hoseok who had walked back inside handed over an ice pack. “It’s not her that needs to trust us, we need to back off, do we all really expect to hang out when this is all over. We will be on tour again, tired and busy. Maybe she is right it would put too much strain on our friendship. If we are busy with the tour it’s just her waiting alone, she would be the only one putting in the effort”
Namjoon hummed “you make a valid point”
There was a brisk knock at the door, you were breathing into a paper bag as the panic set in. Your lungs closing up these symptoms resembling an Asthma attack, the human body was truly something. The door opened and your brother stepped in, he was tense but noticing your predicament he assured you he would return quickly with your puffer.
Minutes past and there was another knock, you thankfully had calmed slightly. Enough to head over and open up the door nervously you saw someone you weren’t expecting. It was someone from higher up and they escorted you to the elevator. This couldn’t be happening, how would they know already. This had to be a coincidence.
Arriving at the sixth floor. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves, you felt a little unsure. Taking small hesitant steps, the atmosphere was heavy. People were moving about the place silently, that's what was unnerving. The silence. “This way” the two men either side of you pressed their hands against your back, pushing you forward. In a small office which looked to have been converted into a bedroom. An older man was laying in bed and he didn’t look well.
“We have a list of supplies we need you to retrieve, we have made contact with the hospital and they are waiting,” A man behind a mask took your phone, typing in an address.
“What if I refuse” Your voice was barely audible, two guns were cocked behind you making you freeze up. Looking over your shoulder to the two men who were aiming at your head. You swallowed thickly You would need time to process everything. “Please get dressed and meet us on the first floor while everyone is at dinner”
Yoongi had finished showering and was dawdling to the elevator, he honestly hoped that there was something good for dinner. He never complained about food but he sure had his favourites. When this was over he would order lamb skewers. He knew these were trivial thoughts but he was trying to avoid the exhausting topic relating to the events that occurred that afternoon. The elevator doors opened and he saw you looking pale accompanied by two men in suits. What odd occurrences at first he was heading to the basement and saw your brother holding a puffer saying you had disappeared in the middle of a panic attack, and now. Now, here you were being followed by two young men, is this why you had wanted condoms. Yoongi frowned, why had you dressed like that. He didn’t like the idea of you looking so good in the presence of other men.
You nodded as the shock was shaking you to the core, you were escorted down to the basement. Yoongi stood outside the elevator with wet hair, he moved aside as you went to the storage room to get dressed. Finding some long pants and your undergarments which had dried by now. You were dressed covered but not too warm; you knew walking would keep you warm”
It was torture. You brushed passed him as he eyed the two gentlemen even though it really wasn’t his business. Running a hand through his hair he was exasperated. Not knowing how he got from the basement to the cafeteria but here he was focusing on his bowl of kimchi jjigae. Dinner had provided a much-needed distraction. He didn’t want to know what you and two men could get up to.
You stood off to the side of the first floor zipping you into the suit. You put on a brave face and spotted Areum walking to the cafeteria. Hesitating just long enough to get a gun pressed into your back “move”
“I wonder what y/n will eat she doesn’t really like kimchi jjigae,” Jungkook asked quietly flooding back to Yoongi’s mind were subtle things, the way your eyes were blown wide you must have been excited.
“Guys I can’t find y/n and last I saw her she was having a panic attack in the basement. “I saw her go to the basement with two guys, she is probably having the time of her life right now” There was bitterness in his voice that even left him shocked.
She gave you a scared look as if she was going to call out but you shook your head slightly and flicked your hand in a subtle shooing motion. She quietly ran to the cafeteria and you were thankful she listened. Afraid that if they spotted her she might have gotten hurt. Heading out the building and down the foggy streets, there was something eerie about this all.
“She what!” Jimin froze looking at the monotonous rapper. “What do you mean?” “Namjoon-ssi” a voice shouted Hoseok recognised Areum and smiled. “It’s y/n, she, she and they with guns” The boys were on their feet, “what did you say? Who what do you mean guns?” Their words overlapped sounding like nonsense to the other diners.
“Tell Me” b/n shook her not so gently. She was scared as she tried to stay calm and explain. “They had guns pointed at her and they sent her outside.” “Outside!?” Jungkook went to run but was grabbed “let me go Hyung she could be dying, the poison” “They have guns Jungkook” “She was in a suit,” Areum said
Yoongi scolded himself, she hadn’t been excited, she had been scared, he wanted to slap himself. Why hadn’t he tried to talk to you to find out what was wrong? He could have stopped all this. If only he just asked. He knew she was waiting for him to ask.
“Who were these men?” Namjoon hissed ready to throw hands. “That’s the thing, it’s the higher-up’s bodyguards, this is an inside job whatever they want they are willing to risk other people’s lives for it” Areum sniffed. “Maybe she left a note in the storage room,” Taehyung said hopefully and they all took off heading to the basement. They searched all the obvious places and deemed it unlikely that you did. They had no choice but to sit and wait.
You had been travelling for about two hours by the time you arrived at the hospital. The night was still, it was cool but inside the suit, you were very warm. The boots you were wearing ironically were not exactly made for walking. They were for style rather than comfort. Blisters already forming on the backs of your ankles. It was too quiet, you had your radio on barely audible. Not wanting to run into any unfamiliar people in the fog, with little to no noise you continued making the journey to the Hospital. Arriving they led you to the back, filling your pack full of supplies, staring at the oxygen tank you were supposed to carry back.
“What if she doesn’t come back?” Areum paced “She is smart, she will be fine” Your brother seemed dead inside, staring into nothingness. They didn’t want to admit the odds but they honestly thought he was being delusional the odds were stacked against you.
“I heard there are thieves killing people and stealing their supplies on the street” Seokjin frowned. This was clearly his punishment for catching feelings. The nine of them paced and shifted around the room. Like the worlds longest and most anxiety-inducing game of musical chairs. “I hope she is safe” Jungkook muttered
Heading back. Following the map in reverse, you heard someone talking. Switching off your radio not wanting to risk being found you slowly moving along the street. There was a voice speaking Korean one was shushing the other and they cocked guns.
They could hear your breather, reaching behind you and turning the dial until your breather stopped. You continued moving quietly. You couldn’t let yourself be found. You knew these were bad people. You had heard about people with guns. The supply place had warned you about the thieves. You continued moving quickly, your lungs burning, you would have to take another breath soon.
Gasping Jimin pulled his head out from the water in his hands, he tried to clear his head splashing on his face. He wanted to confront the higher-up’s, he needed answers. He wanted to go out and get you but he couldn't. There was no plausible way to do it. He felt like he was running aimlessly through the dark.
Running aimlessly in the dark, well you called it running but it was more like a glorified power walk, you reached down turning the dial. Taking slow breaths of the oxygen pooling back into the mask, you think you might have lost them. Your heart was beating so strong in your ears it was unbearable.
Clutching the large medical oxygen tank, you navigate your way through the thick fog. It was damn near impossible to see, you were watching the ground for anything audible that would give yourself away. You saw a pair of feet stopping abruptly. There was a figure in front of you, thankfully they were facing away, their breather was louder than yours. His gun was strung over his shoulder and his hands seemed free.
“Why did you kiss my sister?” “I um, I think I have feelings for her?” “Listen, you know that’s not a good idea, why would you drag her into this, the kpop world is ugly and the fans deadly and devoted” “It’s not like we planned for this to happen, we just like her” Yoongi hummed Laying across the couch. “Wait, we? Great, just great, anyone else in love with my sister?” Taehyung raised his hand and the others followed suit.
Raising your hand you switched off your breather, he looked like he was about to turn so you swung with all your might. The tank colliding with the back of his head, he dropped. You snatched his gun and continued you had to be close, you passed a familiar building plaque. Turning your breather on you had to do something.
Two buildings away. In a moment of stupidity, you unzipped the front of your suit, slipping the gun inside. Into the hem of your sweatpants, you arranged it to hide under the lumpy suit. It was quite a long gun it reached your knee and up to your underarm. But you had to make it look natural. You could feel the uncomfortable warmth on your body from the chemicals. Luckily the headpiece was isolated from the body of the suit meaning it didn’t let the fumes that leaked into the suit, up into your eyes or lungs.
You made it to the door and they let you in, thrusting the items into their hands you told them you had to wash the fumes off and walked to the elevator in the suit. You got to the basement and heard both the boys and your brother arguing, turning into the bathroom and slipping off the suit. You removed the gun. It was a big, locating the safety on the side you switched it on. You thought you would be more scared holding a weapon but that moment had already passed.
Throwing open the shower door you saw Jungkook turn, slipping in the process and covering himself with a washcloth. “Please don’t shoot!” “Jungkook shut up, look I need a boost. Can you lift me up here? I need to hide this.” “Where the hell did you get that?”
“Jungkook come on” “Okay,” he turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. He walked over, body glistening and he squatted down holding his towel from shifting. His muscular arms wrapped around your thighs and he pushed up, standing. Placing the gun up on the ledge before he returned you back down.
Straightening up he frowned “what’s wrong with your neck, it’s all red.?” “Chemical burns all over my body, no major exposure but it’s potent stuff out there” those words registered in his mind at a lightning pace. Chemical burn, burn, an injury you were hurt.
He grabbed you, walking you backwards and turning the shower on. He took the detachable shower head and began washing you down. He frowned at the redness of the chemical biting into your skin. He one-handed pulled your shirt above your head and threw it with a wet slap across the room, his hand then travelling to your sweat pants sliding them down. “Is that better?” He was trying not to look at your beautiful body. Now really wasn’t the time.
“Yes you can't imagine the relief”

Unforeseen Chasm (Part 63)
Prompt: Two sisters fall for men that are absolute enemies. The love they have could tear all of them apart, or it could bring them together.
Word Count:4309
Warnings: Lift in spirits for reader, a year after the snap,feelings exposed again, arguing, angry Tony, Bruce vs. Tony, fighting, a change in life, surgery/transplant, happiness and fluff for the OFC. life goes by for reader,looming darkness, Song for this part: Is there somewhere - Halsey Note: This is by far the longest thing I’ve ever written (including my novels). It’s a collaboration with the amazing @mrs-dragneel-stark-solo. It started as a funny “What if…?” and it evolved and got huge. This took two years to write. We are both proud and happy and we hope you enjoy it. It follows from Thor 1 to Endgame in the MCU. Some of the timelines may be off in order to fit certain people, and some characters may show up earlier or in different ways than they have in the movie. But for the most part, it follows the MCU. It also has a bit of crossover with some other Marvel characters throughout the story.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the following morning that you ran into Remy on the way out of the hotel, just outside the doors.
“Didn’t expect you to still be around, not after my killjoy session last night.”
“Oh, don’t take all the glory. You aren’t the soul reason for all the heartache going around,” he assured jovially.
You stopped and turned to face him. “Remy, I know what you’re trying to do, and I appreciate it, I do. You’re trying to act like everything is okay, or that everything is gonna be okay, and I know that’s just your nature. I know you don’t want to seem down, but you’re going to have to, for me. I left because of the optimism. I don’t have it in me, okay?” you begged softly, grabbing his arm and squeezing. “For me, just… dwell in the harsh reality. Think of me as misery and you’re my company, alright?”
He nodded, a sweet smile on his face. “Alright. I’ll stop with the cheerful talk.”
You thanked him and the two of you began walking to your first sight to visit today. “And besides… it is my fault. It’s all my fault.”
“Oh, come on now,” he started, scoffing and you threw a daring look his way.
“No, it really is. I was out on the battlefield. I should’ve been there to stop Thanos. Instead, I was too focused on everyone else. I wanted to make sure they were safe. By the time I realized Thanos was here, it was too late.”
“Cher, I don’t think you could’ve taken him alone,’ he offered gently. “You said he went up against Cap’n Rogers, Romanoff, Banner--”
“Right. All mortals. Wanda slowed him down, tremendously. Thor nearly killed him the first time. Can you imagine what I could do? I’m Thor and Wanda and you rolled into one. I could’ve killed him. It might not have been easy, but if someone had my back, made sure I didn’t get interrupted, I could’ve done it.”
“I think you’re bein’ a little hard on yourself.”
“I think you’re being ignorant to the facts,” you retorted.
He sighed. “Well that may be, but it doesn’t change the fact that when the snapped happened, you were the first person I thought of.”
“That so?” you challenged, keeping your eyes down to the ground. “Why didn’t I get a call then?”
“I figured you’d be busy. I wasn’t sure about you and Loki, or Shannon. I wanted to check on you, but if things were bad, I didn’t want to come barging in. Besides, we had the mess at the mansion to take care of. I couldn’t just drop all that. I wanted to but…”
“No, I’m glad you didn’t. I was busy. I was busy trying not to fall apart, trying to be there for Shannon, in the small capacity I could be anyway.”
“It seems we found each other at the right time, then.”
“Found each other? You tracked me across the globe. It’s not exactly a coincidence,” you reminded, a touch of humor in your voice.
The two of you set off then, quietly. You went all around the city. Remy took photos for you and of you, so that you could focus on the beauty here and now, be in the moment. When nightfall happened and you started walking back to your hotel, you began talking. It was nice to have someone to talk to.
“We had all these plans, you know?” you started suddenly. “I don’t know how to live without him. Here or back in New York. he’s been such a huge part of my life, my every day life for years…”
“I bet that’s hard.”
“It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to live through,” you admitted.
With that, he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and pulled you in close as you two walked.
-----------------------------------
Things had begun to die down for what had happened. You were still missing and that didn't stop Shannon from continuing her search. At some point she and Tony had left the compound and had gone to find a peaceful place to start a new chapter in their marriage. It was time to start a family. Everyone had gone their separate ways so it was only natural that they wanted to bring some happiness to this point in their lives.
Bruce had come to terms with the fact that Shannon wouldn’t be leaving Tony anytime soon but that didn't stop him from confessing his feelings. Things had gotten heated after that, seeing as when Bruce said those words Tony had just been walking in. This created a fight. They ended up going a few rounds and Shannon had ultimately had to use her powers to rip the men apart from each other.
“You two are acting like savages, this needs to stop!” she growled, holding them both back. “Now, Bruce, you know I’m married to Tony and I love him very much and yes I do love you too but, I’m not sure there’s something that can be done.” She turned over to the other man. “Tony, what in God’s name is wrong with you?! He’s your friend, not some stranger.” She lets them go and huffs. “You two need to figure this out, okay? And no more fighting.”
She walked away and both men walked off to the bar and had a long talk about what would happen.
“Listen, Tony I never wanted to get to this point but I love Shannon just as you do and I would never do anything to hurt her.” He holds his drink up to the cut on his eyebrow. “I know this isn’t conventional but would you be willing to have a polyamorous relationship so that I can be with her?” Bruce hoped that the other man would agree.
“I gotta say Bruce you have some courage to confess your feelings to a married woman, but my wife!” He shook his head. “I mean I kinda knew you had those feelings from when you had been helping her at the mansion, but I’m not sure if I can be okay with that type of situation and it’s not up to me. It’s up to Shannon on whether or not she wants that.” He refilled his glass. “I’ll have to talk with Shannon and then we can all sit down to figure this out.”
“See, I didn’t think I would get this far.” He sighed. “But you’re right, Shannon should be the one who decides.”
Upon returning to the compound, the three sat down and talked about what would happen next. She agreed to open up the relationship to have her husband and now, Bruce, her boyfriend. Once it was all decided, the next thing that happened was having the cabin built to accommodate the three of them and the potential future.
Life was as normal as it could get for Shannon, Bruce and Tony they’d all found a way to make their relationship work. Who would be with Shannon which nights and things like that. One thing that was a major change was that after searching she was finally able to get a uterus transplant. Which would come to bring a change in their life with the hopes of her having a child. There were dozens of attempts after her body had accepted the new organ, but to no avail was she able to get pregnant right away, needless to say they didn’t stop trying. There had been a point where Shannon believed that she would never be able to get pregnant but she was pleasantly surprised when she took a home test and it had come out positive. She had done her own at the tower’s lab to confirm what the test had said. Knowing that she was finally able to carry her own child was the best moment she could live through. It was nearing the end of October and she hadn’t figured out how to tell him yet but she knew she’d figure it out.
It’d been about a year since Y/N had left and the search for her still continued. She also began to see which X-men still remained. The one person that she hadn’t thought would survive would be Wade Wilson, formerly known as Deadpool.
Shannon figured he’d be a good bet if any in finding you.
“Come on, Wade, pick up the phone,” she mumbled, waiting for the phone to stop ringing.
A second later on the other line all she heard was, “Shut it, tin balls, I’m on the phone! Hello?”
“Hey, Wade, it’s Shannon,” she said. “Are you busy?”
“Well, hello there, Mrs. Stark. What a pleasure.” He mocked formality. “I’m pretty free, what’s up?”
“I was hoping we could meet,so we can talk about this in person.”
“Sure thing. Send me your coordinates and I’ll be there soon. Can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to!” And with that the call ended
About half an hour later there was a knock at the door. Bruce had gone out for a jog and Tony, like always, was hiding in the garage working on who knows what. Which gave Shannon the perfect timing to talk to Wade.
“Coming!” she yelled from the kitchen. She grabbed a hand towel and wiped the water off them and opened the door. “Hey, Wade, come on in.” She moved to let him in.
“Aww what no hug?” He stood there with his arms open. “Whoa wait! I see that glow Shan, are you pregnant?” he teased.
“Hush, Wade, I haven’t told Tony yet!” she pulled him further into the house and peers out to the garage making sure her husband hadn’t heard. “Now what’s with the suit what happened to you being comfortable around me?” she motions with her hand.
“Listen here, lady! No one tells me when I can and can’t wear my suit!” he exclaimed.
“You done with the tantrum?”
“Uh… no, but anyways how’s it been?” He leaned in closer. “Besides the bun in the oven?”
“Haha funny, it’s been going good with my life but that’s the reason I called you.” She headed towards the living room and he followed. “Everything is going good but one part. My best friend, well more like sister, has gone off the radar and I haven’t for the life of me been able to find her and at this point I need someone like to be able to go out and bring her back for me. Considering--” she points down at her belly. “--once I tell Tony he’ll definitely be against me going out to look for her.”
“And what would I get out of it?” He got serious when he heard the reason why. “Normally there’s a contract that gets written up and a price given but since it’s you, Shannon, I’m going to work something different out.”
He sat there for a moment just thinking of what he could potentially get from them. He didn’t really need much. Until a lightbulb lit up since becoming Deadpool he knew his chances of having children were down to zero and with his friend being pregnant he’d like to be in the kid’s life somehow. “Alright so here’s how it’s going to go. I’ll do you this favor in exchange for two things.” He held up two fingers.
“Just two things?” she repeated. “And what exactly are those two things?”
“Great question!” He got giddy. “First, I’d like to be part of that kid’s life.” He pointed to her stomach. “And second, I’d like unlimited chimichangas and not the crappy kind, you guys got the money for the good stuff.”
“Okay first of all why the heck would you want to be part of MY child’s life? And second, okay we can do the chimichangas.” She shook her head.
“Well ever since I became DP I came to realize that I will never get the chance to have my own kids you know?” His voice lowered towards the end but it was enough for her to hear.
Knowing the reason behind asking such a thing pulled at her heartstrings because she knew what it’s like, knowing that there was a chance she could never be a mom. Granted, Peter Parker was hers biologically but was done through surrogacy.
“Okay, Wade, I know what it’s like to be in that position. You can be their god father, okay? And occasional babysitter, how’s that?” She hoped she could complete part of his life like this miracle baby had done for her. “So it’s a deal then, when can you start?”
“We can go over the specifics later, for now just enjoy this moment and let me know if you need help planning the reveal to the hubby.” He leaned closer to her.
“Of course, Wade, thank you.” she leaned her head on his. “You have no idea how much this means to me.”
From then on it had been Wade being around constantly and getting on Tony’s nerves but he knew why and it broke his heart to see his wife like that. Between all of that they all got to see how the wonders of Shannon became a mother to their daughter Morgan. Then during their fifth year since the snap, she had gotten serious with Bruce as well and even though she couldn’t marry him through the church, she figured she could at some point later on. They did agree on having a child, so she gave it a shot with Bruce. They had gotten more than they could have asked for, not only was she pregnant again, but this time with twins. It equaled out to two children with Bruce and two with Tony.
-----------------------------------------
One Year Later…
After three months all over the world, you’d seen and done everything you could possibly think of, with Remy right by your side. Part of you felt guilty, having him there. The other part was so thankful that you weren’t going through this alone.
When you finished, you had no idea where to go, no direction. When the snap happened, a small part of you hoped there was a way to find Thanos and bring everyone back. When that hope died out with Thanos, you could go see the world in Loki’s honor. Then, when that finished, you had nothing left. You still couldn’t return to New York. You weren’t in any mindset to be around Shannon and everyone else.
“Well, that’s it,” you said with finality as you looked down at your phone, checking the list. “We’ve done everything.”
Remy smiled down at you. “Wow. Time flies, right? What next?”
“I have absolutely no idea,” you admitted as you stood, staring out over a river. “I’ve never felt this way before… Directionless. Even when I was in prison, there was a plan. Hopefully one day to get out, but even then I knew at least I’d be in prison the next day. But as of this moment, I don’t know what I’ll do in twenty seconds. It’s a bit unnerving for me.”
“What do you say we… well… settled down?” he asked carefully.
Your face whipped to him, surprised. “Settle down? What do you mean?”
“Well I don’t imagine you wanna keep jumping from country to country,” he surmised, putting his elbows on the railing.
“No, I don’t,” you agreed slowly.
“Then I suggest we take this somewhere permanently. Maybe… start to rebuild our lives. We’ve lived in the past, maybe it’s time we start looking at the future.”
“I don’t know…” you started, looking down and shaking your head.
“What’s got you hesitatin’, cheri?” he wondered, standing to put a finger under your chin to force you to look at him.
You sighed. “I’m not sure I know how to move on.”
“I’m not asking you to move forward, or to forget him, or forget anyone. All I’m saying is to make it easier on both of us. I know I’m a hell of a lot happier when I’m around you, and despite your initial complaints I think you like my company.”
You nodded.
“So maybe...we find us a place, and start to live again. It might be easier to focus on healing if we aren’t acting as if we’re on the run.”
You sighed in agreement. “You’re right… but where would we go? If we stay in one place too long, Shannon will find me.”
“Maybe,” he said with a shrug. “Maybe not. How about we go home? Maybe she’s already looked there.”
“Home? Like…” you asked, prompting him with a questioning look.
“Like New Orleans, darlin’.”
And that was how he easily convinced you to follow him. The two of you found a house slightly out of the way in New Orleans. It wasn’t in the country, but it was private enough that you weren’t in a neighborhood with prying neighbors.
Remy picked up a job as a bartender, and when he wasn’t tending to the drinks, he was playing cards for money. As for you, you found a job in healing. You worked with a mobile clinic that went to a rather large area due to the snap, the patients were widely spread out. It was nice, to give back, to help heal people, when you’d caused so much heartache. Your job was to use your electrical powers to keep equipment from failing. Sometimes you were at the hospital, other times you joined nurses on the road. It was an odd interview, but these were trying times and they didn’t turn their noses up at your request.
If you weren’t working, the two of you were building a home together. The two of you had found pieces of art you loved, began to buy dish sets, furniture. You didn’t have too many momentos, either one of you to go through, but it made it nice. None of it was anything you had to be reminded of, to try and hold back some form of grief. You two painted every room in the house you’d bought. You’d hand selected wallpaper, paint, decor, everything. You weren’t sure if you were doing it as a distraction or what -- but it felt like life was starting again. You two even cooked together most nights, trying out recipes on each other.
Now, it’d been a year since the snap. No word to or from Shannon, but you were sure she was doing fine. Remy had called Logan a couple of times to check on the mansion, but no new students had shown up. Despite missing the vanished and those you left behind in New York, this was as close to happy as you could get.
-----------------------------
One night, you stopped in at the bar Remy worked at, to help him close up.
“Hey, there,” he greeted with a wide grin. “What can I getcha?”
“Just a coke,” you answered. “How’s business been?”
He worked on getting you your drink as he answered, “Kinda slow. But that gave me a chance to do this new trick.”
“Oh? Can I see?” you asked somewhat excited. Remy’s tricks were always something you loved, even as kids. It was a way to be entertained, to make you forget about the other ugliness in the world, and you supposed he was doing that again this time around.
“Sure thing. Let me get it set up.” He reached under the bar for a second, making you curious. ”Alright, so I’ll draw ‘em in like this,” he explained as he leaned over, looking handsome.
You nodded. “Mhm.”
“Then, I’ll do a little ol’ razzle dazzle with the hands,” he continued slowly as he made meaningless motions in the air before making his fingers dance around a space on the bar. “And abracadabra, alakazam…”
Then as if it materialized in thin air, there was a red velvet box on the bar and your heart began pounding.
“Now you may be wonderin’ what’s inside that there box. I’ll show ya.” He opened the box before glancing up at you with a grin. Inside the box was a stunning, unique ring. ”Y/N, will you do me the great honor of--”
Thought escaped you though. The sight of that box. Remy’s words. They catapulted you to that day on the battlefield with Loki. Every emotion of grief and loss slammed into you, taking breath and thought with it. All you could do was grab Remy by the edges of his silk vest and kiss him to get him to stop talking.
You couldn’t hear another man say those words to you. It felt so wrong. So utterly wrong.
You hadn’t kissed Remy once or even done anything remotely romantic together. In all reality, you were just two roommates. You did everything together, you lived together, had outings together, but you never kissed, held hands, slept in the same bed… Nothing was romantic between you two.
Remy sank into the kiss easily before you let him go. You couldn’t hide the tears streaking down your face but you did your best to hide the thickness of your voice.
“I think maybe… maybe we should take things slow, at first, you know?” you offered easily. You didn’t want to lose Remy, he’s all you had. But you couldn’t give him what he wanted.
“You mean like, actually courtin’ each other?”
“Precisely,” you agreed with a nod and smile. “Then we can talk marriage. What do you say?”
“I say that sounds like a plan,” he responded before leaning over to kiss you again, slower and more tenderly.
---------------------------------
So life went on like normal, for another year, the only change was the romance. It seemed a small price to pay to not have to hear another marriage proposal or pledge your commitment to him. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with Remy. It just felt like a betrayal of every level to promise yourself to Remy when Loki didn’t get that chance.
To an outsider, this was domestic bliss. You two looked, seemed, and acted happy. You tried to be anyway. But every day was a battle. Even after two years, he was the first thing you thought of when you woke up and the last thing you thought about before you drifted off.
Remy was patient and kind. He never tried to erase Loki’s memory. Never mentioned putting his pictures away, or tried to quiet you when you brought him up. He understood how much he meant to you and he didn’t want to ruin that.
But on the inside, you were hollow and empty. Remy and your life provided excellent distractions. You loved helping those in need, and you loved having your friend around. He kept the majority of the darkness at bay.
You couldn’t hide it anymore though. This cookie cutter life wasn’t cutting it. Not anymore. You had so much sorrow and anger pent up in you. No closure, no answers… you still blamed yourself for the snap, for not killing Thanos properly. You still wanted Loki back. You missed Shannon and the Avengers but you couldn’t be around them. Ultimately, you were living a lie with Remy. He thought you were moving on, falling in love with him, letting it all go, but you weren’t. You were just as broken as the day Loki vanished. No part of you had healed or moved on in any way.
He didn’t deserve this.
So you packed your things, not leaving a note, about to head out the door in the middle of the night before his voice stopped you
“Where ya goin’?” he asked.
Damn, you mentally hissed. You didn’t want him to see you leave.
Your hand was already on the door knob. “I’m leaving. I think it’s best...for both of us.”
“Well thank you for makin’ my decisions for me,” he sarcastically said as he sauntered up behind you.
“You know what I mean. You deserve someone who isn’t broken like I am. Someone who can give you their whole heart.”
He moved himself to be in front of you, cupping his hands on your face. “Chere, I never asked for your whole heart. I don’t expect it. I just wanna be here for you. I love you and I want to see you happy. I don’t wanna be with you so that you can love me back. Ideally, sure, but realistically…” He let the idea hang in the air. “I just wanna to be with you, is all. Now where were you plannin’ on goin?”
“I’ve got a talent for making others hurt, I was gonna put that talent to use. To be honest, I have a lot of pent up rage I’d like to get out of me.”
“I see,” he said with a bit of sorrow.
“I don’t want you to see me like that, either.”
“I told you years ago I found you to help protect you and keep you safe, now whether that’s from yourself or others you plan on going after, I still believe it,” he vowed. “I’m comin’ with you.”
“Why?” you breathed, confused.
“Because I love you, and I want to be with you, whether we’re baking cookies together for Christmas or off doing whatever it is you’re about to do. I’m with you -- always.”
You smiled at him, sadness filling the expression. “I can’t stop you. If you want to come… We'll go.”
‘Alright. Give me some time to pack, and we’ll go.”
Roughly an hour later, Remy was ready to leave with you. Something in you told you he shouldn’t come with you, whether it was for his safety or so he didn’t see what you were about to turn in to, you weren’t sure. But the bigger, more selfish part of you allowed him to come.
Do you usually take blame or blame others? Depends on the context, I guess? When things go wrong on a very deep and personal level between me and people I deeply care for, I usually try to find reasons to blame myself. But if it’s something superficial, like if someone messes up at work through no fault of my own, then I’m able to point my finger to whoever fucked up.
Have you ever been to a McDonald’s in another state? I’ve been to McDonald’s in different provinces and also in different countries. The McDonald’s we went to in Baguio was so surreal because we discovered that they were still using styrofoam containers that they had already phased out years ago everywhere else, and they also never changed the original spaghetti and chicken recipes I grew up with. It was such a blast from the past. As for other countries, I’ve tried out the McDonald’s in Malaysia, Indonesia, and China and made sure to order items that we didn’t have back home.
Have you ever seen 50 First Dates? Yeah, it’s one of my semi-guilty pleasures. It’s such a cheesy movie, but idk the concept is unique and the supporting characters made the whole movie enjoyable for me.
Do you like or hate the smell of fish? The fishy smell at the market can be pretty strong and bleck, but generally I don’t mind the smell of fish. I live in an archipelago, man. We live and breathe seafood. Idk anyone in real life who doesn’t like fish.
Have you ever been to Sea World? No.
Do you know someone who suffers from short term memory loss? I don’t think so, no.
Have you ever read any of John Green’s books? Yeah, but the only one I’ve gotten to read in full was The Fault In Our Stars. I also got to start on The Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns, but because I only borrowed those copies from friends I never got to read either until the end. All were okay, but I don’t find John Green’s writing to be as great as it was once hyped up to be.
If so, which one is your favorite? I guess TFIOS, since that’s the only one I got to read through to the end.
Are you a protective person? With my loved ones and pets, yes.
Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Yeah I’ve felt a lot but fortunately it’s never been a severe one. Just super brief earthquakes where the most that happened to me was a little swaying.
Would you rather go to a beach or city for a vacation? I love beaches, but a change in scenery would also be nice because I already go to beaches for vacations fairly often. City.
Does your license plate number contain the number 8? I never actually memorized my plate number LOOOOOOL I think so? It’s either a 6 or 8.
Were you ever a ghost on Halloween? Nope.
Has someone ever held the door open for you? Yeah, security guards tend to do that for customers/guests. Sometimes, nice strangers that I enter a place with will do it for me too.
Are you a fan of penguins? I think fan is pushing it far lol. I like penguins, but I’m not obsessed.
Have you ever stayed up all night on a school night? Just a handful of times, and it was always as part of a groupwork. I’d never willingly go through an all-nighter for myself.
What’s your favorite brand of chips? Doritos or Pringles. We also have a local brand that makes these deeeeeelicious salted egg chips, but I’ve never actually taken note of what the brand is.
Has anyone ever sang to you? Not to me. But a lot of people have sung around me.
Are you a good painter? No. That’s why I opt for paint-by-number kits, because those come with a guide haha. I can’t actually craft images by myself – that skill belongs to my sister who has an insane talent for painting.
Before buying a car, do you usually test drive it? I’ve never bought a car by myself; my dad takes care of the car purchases. I know he test-drove the Vitara, but idk about the other cars we have.
Have you ever written a poem and then read it aloud? Hmm, I don’t write poems. I don’t find the vast majority of them appealing, and only once in a while will there be a poem that is able to speak to me.
Do you like pineapple? Nope.
Have you ever met your favorite author? I don’t have a favorite.
Do you look more like your mom or dad? Most comments point to my mom, but I’ll get the occasional remark that half of my face is my dad’s as well. I’m a good mix of both.
Have you and your best friend ever liked the same person? This hasn’t happened before.
When was the last time someone called you babe or baby? Maybe August? I’m not too sure. It’s been a few months.
Do you have an older brother? No. But I’m super close with my eldest cousin on my mom’s side and we grew up together and all that, and I pretty much consider him my older brother. He’s definitely more a brother than a cousin to me, and it has always felt and been that way.
Are you a fan of art? Yes, especially paintings and dioramas.
Did you get your mom or dad’s eyes? My mom’s, I think? I really don’t know, I’m bad at recognizing this kind of stuff. You’d have to ask people who actually see me on a daily basis.
Have you ever seen the movie My Girl? Is this the one with the really sad scene of a boy’s funeral and the girl’s like, “He can’t see without his glasses”? I haven’t seen the movie, but I’ve heard about that scene a million times.
Do you watch Teen Wolf on MTV? Ugh, MTV’s teen shows are such a cringefest to me. I never followed it, but I’ve had to watch a few eps back in high school when my friends would watch it while we were at someone’s place. Not my cup of tea.
When it was on, did you watch Cory In The House on Disney? I watched a few episodes, especially when it was still new. But we were also in the process of moving then and we didn’t have cable for a few years in our new house, so I had to miss out most of it.
Do you have any blackheads? I don’t.
Do you have any freckles? Nope.
Do you have a movie that you have to watch during the summer every year? No, but I have something similar. I like watching Love Actually at least once every year, during the Christmas season. I like watching Two for The Road once a year as well, regardless of the time of year.
Do you think that life isn’t fair sometimes? I mean yeah. It doesn’t revolve around me, so I know it won’t always be fair.
When was the last time someone bought you flowers? Valentine’s Day last year.
What was the last book you read? Midnight Sun. Haven’t touched it since September, though.
How many books do you plan to read this summer? It’s past summer, and I haven’t been doing a lot of reading in general.
Does your house have a dishwasher? No, not a common appliance here.
Do you know anyone who has a flower tattoo? I probably do. But I haven’t seen people outside of family for so long that I can barely remember who has which tattoos. I’m pretty sure I know someone who has flowers.
Do you like the name Carter? It just reminds me of the underwear brand honestly, so not a fan.
Have you ever had a secret admirer? No. Should there be one, they shouldn’t be having high hopes; I wouldn’t be interested in the least.
How many different languages can you say goodbye in? There’s English, Filipino, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Japanese – 7.
Agree or disagree: You like Adam Sandler movies. Disagree for the most part, but 50 First Dates is cute.
--
Did the last type of shoes you wore have laces? Yups. I wore sneakers when I went out to get Starbucks last Friday evening.
How much money did you spend yesterday? The charging cable that I ordered arrived yesterday, so I had to shell out ₱140 for that.
What genre is your favorite movie? It’s a romcom/drama. My other favorite is a drama.
Are you texting anybody right now? Nope. I’m all alone today, which is the way I want to be for this weekend.
Who was the last person you were in a car with? My parents.
Do you like the picture on your license/I.D. card? I really do, hahaha. I don’t know why the people at the LTO gave me a pass, but I had been allowed to smile with my teeth. That helped make my license photo turn out super well and I no longer feel embarrassed whenever I have to take it out and present it somewhere.
What’s your favorite thing to snack on while watching a movie? Potato Corner fries. Can’t be any other type of fries.
When was the last time somebody hit on you? July or August when this random guy slid into my PMs. I had never had so much fun blocking somebody so fast.
Was the last person you met a male or female? The last new person I met was male.
Which one of your friends do you feel most comfortable around? Angela or Andi.
Do you own a map of the world? I mean, I guess. I have a collection of the World Almanac for Kids books, and it had always included a world map in its Countries chapter every year.
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food? We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.
Is the light on in the room you’re in? No, doesn’t have to be as it’s bright out and I can see the sun from my window.
Who did you last spoon with? Gabie.
Are you currently watching TV? No.
Have you ever had surgery or stitches? Never. Hope I’ll never be needing one.
Do you own any clothing that has animal print? I have a tank top with cheetah print that I sometimes wear at home.
Does your family eat dinner together? Yes, every evening. We don’t eat together when my dad is working abroad, but since he has stayed home for all of 2020 because of Covid, we’ve gotten to eat together as a family all year.
Where do you work? Somewhere in Metro Manila; I’m not giving the city away.
Are you in high school? I got out of there nearly five years ago.
Do you have a TV in your room? I used to, but not anymore.
Are any of your electronics charging right now? My phone and laptop both are.
What was the last video game you played? Mario Kart 8.
--
Are you hungry?: I can def go for a snack, or maybe even a full meal. It’s taking everything in me not to order Popeye’s or Army Navy from Grab rn.
What color is the chair you’re sitting on?: I’m sitting up in bed; my sheets are blue with gold/yellow prints.
What did you buy last time you went to the store?: I got bottled coffee when I went to 7-Eleven a week ago.
Do you like salsa that has fruit in it?: ...Don’t all types of salsa have fruit in them though? It would be brand-new knowledge to me if I was told not all salsas have fruit.
Have you ever opened up your computer to clean the fan on the inside?: No. I’d rather have professionals do that.
Can you count in binary?: No, and I never even understood how it works.
Do you think stained glass windows are pretty?: No. Mostly because it reminds me of cathedrals.
Are you a chocoholic?: Nah. I like chocolate, but I can live without it.
Are you scared of snakes?: I mean if they were venomous or obviously wanted to eat me whole, of course. But I’ve also already held a couple of snakes before.
Have you had your wisdom teeth removed?: No.
Do you like hard or soft pretzels better?: Soft all the way. I find the hard ones too salty.
What was the last magazine or catalog you looked through?: I don’t even remember. Maybe Tatler? My grandma has loads of those at her house.
When was the last time you wore a raincoat?: I don’t think I have ever worn a raincoat.
Have you ever been carded when buying something?: Idk what that is but nothing out of the ordinary has ever happened to me whenever I’ve made a purchase, so I’m gonna go ahead and say no.
Do you eat meat?: Yep.
Corn and mashed potatoes, or beans and rice?: Both pairings aren’t really a part of our cuisine, so neither sound appealing to be honest. As someone who thrives on rice, I hate the idea of eating beans with it; so I would go with corn and mashed potatoes even though I’m having a hard time imagining how it would work.
Can you sleep with the light on?: I probably can, but it would take me a lot longer to fall asleep.
What’s your operating system of choice?: Mac/iOS.
Have you ever broken a bone?: Never.
Do you have a favorite highlighter color?: I don’t have a favorite color to use, but I prefer pastel shades in general over neon.
Do you have a flashlight?: My phone has a built-in flashlight, but we also keep a couple of emergency flashlights at home in case of blackouts.
Do you like watermelon?: I like some watermelon-flavored stuff like candies, but I’m not fond of the fruit.
…Honeydew?: Hahahahahaha. BoJack Horseman, anyone? Anyway, I’ve never had honeydew and probably wouldn’t like it considering my established opinion on fruits.
Can you shoot a gun?: I’ve never tried, so I’ll say no. I’ve always been meaning to go to a shooting range though; I feel like it’ll be such a cool experience.
Do you like salad?: Not for the most part. The only kind I enjoy is spicy tuna salad, which only has lettuce in it alongside tuna sashimi and spicy mayonnaise.
When was the last time you smashed your finger?: I don’t know if I ever have? This doesn’t ring a bell to me.
What color is your computer?: Silver/gray.
Have you ever made ice cream in chemistry class?: No, my chemistry classes in high school and college were never that fun.
Has anyone ever walked in on you while you were on the toilet?: Sure.
What color hair do you have?: Black.
Do you use the microwave often?: I wouldn’t say so; just a couple of times a month.
Are you good at spelling?: Sure, I’d claim that. Thank the movie Akeelah and the Bee; that movie made me super passionate about spelling and dictionaries for a time. I can still feel its effects today because I’m still very much particular about spelling more so than any other kind of writing/language mechanic.
Have you ever petted a donkey?: I’ve never even seen one before :o but I’d love to have the chance to pet one, heh. It would make me so happy.
When was the last time you went to the doctor’s for a physical?: 2016.
Do you like a lot of ice in your drinks?: Sure.
Have you ever painted a room? Never have, but would like to give it a try.
#survey#surveys#multiple ones again so feel free to chop up#might make this a thing just because#we'll see!#but i most likely will
survey from diggitydoo
Have you ever felt a baby kick? I might have when my mom was pregnant with my brother, but I don’t remember.
What color pants/shorts are you wearing? I’m wearing black leggings.
When is the last time you did something truly fun, and what was it? My Disneyland trip back in February. It still trips me out that was this year, it feels like forever ago and SO much changed shortly after. It’s wild.
What was the scariest moment of your life? I’ve had more than one, but some were pre-surgery fears. It’s a very scary time and my mind always went to the worst places. My surgeries were long and invasive, too. During one of them my blood pressure dropped really low and my body was just in freakout mode for a few days after the surgery. Like, I had to have a few EKGs and a cardiologist check me out cause my heart rate was high (the EKGs came back fine, though, and the cardiologist couldn’t find anything wrong) and they were worried about my kidneys at one point. I think my body was just under a lot of stress from the type of surgery and the conditions beforehand (I had been sick for one, but also the prep required being totally cleaned out and I think I was dehydrated because of that).
Have you ever heard of Leonard Cohen? Doesn’t ring a bell.
Pancakes or flapjacks? Aren’t they the same thing?
What kind of computer are you on? I’m on my Macbook Air.
Do you eat Chinese food? If so, what's your favorite dish? I like chow mien, egg rolls, potstickers, and crab rangoon.
What are you usually doing at midnight? Either scrolling through my social medias, reading, or watching TV.
Have you ever developed feelings for a friend, but you were already with someone? No.
If so, how did it turn out?
Give me your brief definition of love. I don’t wanna.
What is the most beautiful part of the human body, male or female? Hmm. Eyes.
What kind of shoes do you wear? Adidas.
What is the worst thing you've ever done when you were really angry?I just get really frustrated and upset and I shut down and cry. Are there any pills you take on a daily basis? If so, what? My pain medication. And for the next 10 days this antibiotic. It’s bad because I’ve had it since yesterday for an infection I’ve had for at least two weeks that we know of and the reason why I’ve been feeling sick, but I’ve yet to take it. :X I can’t be a normal human who can take pills, I have to crush mine and I’m dreading how horrible that’s going to be. I’m used to my pain medication at this point and it’s not really that bad. But more than that, it has to be spaced apart from my pain medication because it possibly can increase the intensity of my pain med, potentially causing breathing problems, so I’m like oh yay that sounds fun. Sigh. My doctor insists it’s fine, especially with my dosage, but it was scary to find that out. It’ll most likely be fine, but I’ve gotten so paranoid about stuff in recent years that I didn’t used to be about before. I want to start feeling better, but ugh. :/ I’m gonna take the plunge in like an hour.
Do you like the smell of coconuts? I do. Not the taste, though.
What is the heaviest you think you can lift? 5lbs? haha.
Do you take Tums? Nah, I just take Pepto. I’ve taken them in the past, but they’re chalky and disgusting and sometimes made me gag, so bleh. Apart from their intended purposes, it had been recommended to me by a doctor to take them for increasing calcium cause they have a lot of that, but yeah I didn’t do that much.
Have you ever walked on a pier at the beach? Yes.
How about under one? No.
At what age do you first remember feeling butterflies in your stomach around someone? I think when I was like 9.
Do you feel that way around anyone now? No. It’s been a few years since I’ve felt that or had feelings for anyone in the romantic sense. What does that feel like again?
Do you ever talk to yourself or think deep thoughts while on the toilet? I think about stuff, sure.
Do you ever sing to yourself? Yeah.
What is a sound that relaxes you? Certain ASMR triggers and ocean sounds.
How hard has it been to reach your main goal in life? I don’t even know what I want to do in life.
Do you remember the song about hoes in different area codes? Yeah.
What is your main heritage? I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know? I get kinda confused with what that is, exactly.
What kind of pickles do you prefer, if you like pickles? Dill pickles.
What kind of cheese do you prefer, if you like cheese? I love a lot of different cheeses. I just love cheese.
If you could have a sea creature as a pet, what would you want? Nah.
How about a farm animal? Nah.
So, do you have hoes in different area codes? No.
What is the most annoying song you can think of that came out recently? Nothing comes to mind. I haven’t been listening to music lately, though.
What is a song that you hate to admit you like? I don’t hate to admit that I like any song I like.
What inspires you to get off your bum and do something productive? Uhhhh.
Do you ever use Urban Dictionary? I’ve used it, but not regularly.
Do you find the definitions on there to be generally funny or stupid? Both.
What comes to your mind when you hear the word 'transformation'? A big change.
What was something you regularly played with as a child? Barbies.
Have you ever given in to peer pressure? Yes.
What part of your body have you had the most problems with in your life? My back.
Do a lot of people check you out when you're in public? Ha, no. No one does.
What is a good name for a turtle? *shrug*
Can you imitate any accents well? If so, which one(s)? Nope.
Do you like having your ear nibbled on? I haven’t experienced that.
What makes a good kisser a good kisser? I don’t know. It’s not sloppy? lol. How many times a year do you have a family thing? We haven’t had a big family get together in years.
What are the best things to put in a smoothie? I’m a very simple gal, I just liked strawberries and bananas. Unless I went to Jamba Juice where they add stuff and you can add extras like a protein or caffeine shot or something.
Do you ever eat with your eyes closed and just focus on the taste? Nah.
What do you dislike most about where you live right now? My city is crappy.
Has anyone ever given you a rose/roses? No.
Are you watching your weight? I need to be gaining weight, I’ve needed to for the past few years now, but I’ve been unsuccessful.
Have you ever become really good friends with someone you found online? Yes. I used to have several close online friends back in the day. Also, I personally love our little survey community on here. We support each other in some way or another and keep up with each other’s lives through our surveys.
What makes your best friend your best friend? She’s my mom and my rock and has always been there for me. I couldn’t do it without her.
Do you have a drunk uncle? No.
Do you hear weird noises in your house at night? No. I usually have headphones on, though.
What is something you do that is generally more like something the opposite sex does? Uhhh. I don’t know if there is something I do like that. Not that I can think of.
What is the girliest thing you do, if you're a girl? I don’t know.
What is the coolest tattoo you've ever seen? That’s hard to say. There’s a lot of really cool tattoos.
Have you ever created anything artistic that you're proud of? If so, what? I’m not crafty, artistic, or creative, sadly.
Do you only eat the middle of the oreo, if you eat oreos? I eat the whole thing, but of course the creme is the best part.
Do you know anyone with a huge ego? Yes.
If so, is there anything else about them you actually like? They’re very intelligent and would do anything for their loved ones.
Do you have any friends who are more like siblings to you? I don’t have any friends.
If so, what about them do you like most?
What do you like on your hotdogs, if you eat hotdogs? Ketchup and mustard. It’s very rare that I’m eating a hotdog at all, though. It’s been years since I’ve had one.
What is everyone else in your house doing right now? My dad is getting ready for work, but my mom and brother are sleeping.
How long do you think it would take you to run a mile? Pfffft. That’s not happening.
Look down. What do you see? My blanket I’m wrapped up in. What is a subject that makes you uncomfortable? Politics.
What is a subject you can talk on and on about and not get sick of it? I like talking about any of my interests.
What kind of mood were you in most of today? It’s only 6:37AM.
Has anyone ever walked in on you naked? Nooo.
Tell me an inside joke you have with someone. Nah.
What is the worst thing you've ever done to someone emotionally? Ghosting those I was close to. :/
How do you feel now about the first person you ever dated? I don’t feel anything towards them anymore. I don’t have any bad feelings or anything, it’s just been almost 15 years since then and we haven’t even been in each other’s lives in a decade now and I’ve long since moved on.
How about the last person (your last ex)? I don’t have any bad feelings towards him either. I’ve moved on years ago as well.
What is the best invention ever invented? There’s been so many.
What is something that needs to be invented? I’m too tired to think of something.
What always makes you burp? It just happens.
What are you doing tomorrow? Same stuff, different day.
6 weeks post stage 3
Hey all, today I am 6 weeks post op stage 3.
Since my last update, I started to struggle with deflating the device. I started to notice that it felt like the device had twisted even more, and that the button was even further in my leg crease and borderline inaccessible. This all came to a head about a week ago, where I was stuck inflated for about an hour and was unable to completely deflate my device as normal and as I had previously. I emailed Dr Goossen and we decided to stop with the cycling as I was seeing him in a few days. I was really stressed that the deflate button was broken or something, and my anxiety proceeded to spiral to that point that just accepted that I will probably need to have another surgery to reposition the pump as the way it was was not really working, or worse, that I’d need my entire device replaced.
On Tuesday I had my 6 week post op checkup back in Brisbane, so I few up for the day. I went in with René and explained the situation, and I pumped up the device as normal. René then went to have a look and tried to deflate the device, and was also struggling. She said she had felt some scar tissue around the button (which is normal as scar tissue forms a capsule around the device as part of the natural healing) but this may be contributing to the issues I was having with deflation. After about 15 minutes of both of us trying our hardest to deflate the device we decided to just leave it until Dr Goossen could have a look.
When Goossen came in to have a look I explained our issues and braced myself as he is often not the most gentle (and I was a little raw from our 15 minutes of attempted deflation). He started to have a feel around the pump and then, like magic, deflated it with zero issues in 2 seconds. René and I both just stared at him amazed and dumbfounded as we have no idea how he managed it so easily when we had been on struggle street not even 5 minutes prior. I inflated the device again and he showed me exactly where to push and where the button was.
TURNS OUT. THIS ENTIRE TIME. I THOUGHT THE PUMP HAD TWISTED 90º TO THE LEFT, AND THAT THE BUTTON WAS IN MY LEG CREASE. WHEN ACTUALLY. THE DEVICE ROTATED TO THE RIGHT. AND THE BUTTON WAS ON THE FRONT, LITERALLY RIGHT THERE, EASY AS TO ACCESS. SO, this entire time, I had been pushing and prodding and squeezing my poor poor left nut in the complete wrong spot, and for no reason at all (see the attached video of the pump bulb to help explain this visually!).
I am assuming that during the earlier stages of healing when I was still a little swollen the button was being pressed even when I was putting pressure on the wrong side because it was able to press against the swelling, but as that has gone down the lack of resistance meant that the pressure on the wrong side wasn’t enough to deflate the device, which is why one day what was working fine suddenly wasn’t sufficient. Either way, once this was all clarified, I had no issue. I deflated and inflated about 4 times to make sure, and then sheepishly thanked Goossen for tolerating my ineptitude. Since then, the pump has been working completely perfectly, and the button is actually super easy to press. So there we go. I stressed out for no reason and all is well😂
Once that was all fixed up, Goossen and I had a little chat about what happens from here. I was given the blessing to go ahead to have sex once I hit 8 weeks, and he told me that he was very happy with how I’ve healed and that I have a beautiful penis (to which I replied with ‘thank you…literally thank you’ 😂). I’ve also been cleared to go back to the gym as of 6 weeks (gently at first of course!) and have been given instructions to continue cycling the device daily until I’m about 6 months post op. We’ve arranged to have a Skype check up in about 10 weeks, and then I’ll pop back up to Brisbane for hopefully my final sign off in the end of July, also around 6 months post op. Hearing that was honestly a tad overwhelming, it’s really hard to believe that I’m all done and that I don’t have to keep coming back, and honestly a little bit of sadness that I’ll not have much of a reason to see Goossen again once I’m all settled- he’s honestly an amazing surgeon and I think I’ll honestly miss him haha.
I did mention that I was concerned about my testicular implant and that aesthetically it’s still sitting a little too high for my liking right now. We’ve decided to not worry about it yet as 1) there is still a lot of swelling and 2) there is still a chance I’ll be able to yank it down over time. He said we can discuss it in July if it’s still something I’m unhappy about, but he was a little hesitant to surgically intervene unless I really insist- as this would require replacing the implant and could pose an infection risk/ could compromise the erectile device and probably wouldn’t be worth the risk. I decided to just keep tugging and then in July if it’s still an issue we can discuss it again then. He seemed optimistic that with some determination and patience that I should be able to shift it, so I’ll keep working on that.
I’m honestly still a little bewildered and shocked that this is all nearly over, after years of waiting to be at this point. Some days I catch myself thinking about and dreading having stage one, only to remember that I’ve already done it and I don’t ever have to do it again. I feel so blessed and happy I made it here, and I’m excited to move forward with my life without having my body holding me back. I’d just like to say thanks to everyone in here for being respectful and supporting me over the last 2 or so years during this process. All the kind words and support have meant a lot and I’ve appreciated it loads.
That’s all I’ve got to say for now, so far so good. I might be a little quiet now that I’m healed up and done with all my surgeries (at least for the time being) but as usual I’m happy to answer questions, and I will of course update if anything of note happens. Until next time 👍
Arguments and illnesses part I
Dr. Cox x reader
Words- idk around 1000
A/n: the bold lines are jds thinking.
~~~~~~
Now -
"You think you have a tumor?" Jd asks.
"I don't know I know something's wrong I need you to run some tests for me but please just keep this between us."
"...Of course."
96 hours ago -
You never really know what the day will bring for a relationship. something good? Something bad ? What are you going to argue about this time?
The new interns were coming today and you were nervous because you never know how they're going to treat you.
"Hello gang I'm dr. Y/l/n and we're going to jump right into some of the questions. Can anyone tell me why someone would need there stomach pumped?" Five of them raised their hands not bad.
"Yes. . Dr. Cory"
"if you've swallowed a poisonous material, if you've had too much alcohol or swallowed large amounts of medication."
"Right on." before you got the next question out Dr. Cox came in with his group of interns. He asked a question and some girl was right in his space touching him while answering the question. Why does she need to be that close ? And why does she need to touch him? What a slut.
He better not enjoy it.
~~~ later at lunch
Dr. Cox and you sat across from each other.
"So how are your interns?" You ask.
"Ah you know, annoying and incredibly needy. Yours?"
"Pretty hard working. You seemed pretty close-"
"Hey Dr. Cox I was wondering if you could help me with intubating?" You licked your lips and raised your eyebrows, waiting for him to answer.
".... I'm eating lunch. Out. now."
"Okay see you later." She says half sexy.
"You two seem pretty chill."
"Oh my god. Are you jealous?" He asked.
"Of course not!"
"Well trust me she's got nothing on you."
"I'm listening."
"You're hot."
"Thank you "
"No problem now why aren't you eating?"
"I don't know im just not that hungry today. I'm a little nauseous."
"Oh no you don't think you're-"
"No no no. I mean I shouldn't be. I'll check later but I think it's just from working a lot." right after you said that your pager went off.
"Got to go, love you."
~~~~~
God your head was starting to hurt real bad.
~~~
"Hey y/n." Jd says.
"Hey what's up?"
"Nothing much I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for some drinks later with Turk, me, and, Carla?"
"Um I don't think I can tonight I have this really bad headache that's lasted me for hours."
"Oh okay. Hope you feel better."
"Thank you."
~~~~
You got home way before Perry did. You were waiting up for him but you totally failed that. You didn't know why you were so tired and nauseous. It wasn't your period, you weren't getting that for another 19 days. Maybe you were pregnant.
~
"Good morning sleepy head." Perry said to you.
"Good morning. I'm sorry I didn't say up last night I was sooo tired."
"it's all good." He gave you a passionate kiss to assure you it was okay.
"Wanna go take a take a shower?" He raises his eyebrows up and down.
You laugh " haha lets go."
---
"Hey Elliot do you know where they keep the pregnancy test ?"
"OMG you're pregnant? That's great !! "
"No no no shh keep it down, I don't think I am I'm just making sure "
"Yay but you still might be. I'll go get you one."
"Thank you."
~~
As you stood waiting for the results you couldn't stop thinking of the What ifs. What if dr. Cox didn't want a baby. What if you really were pregnant. How would you have the time for that. What if you didn't want a baby and Dr. Cox did. so many things to think about but you were just going to wait so you didn't drive yourself crazy in only three minutes.
You are leaning against the wall, across from the pregnancy test that was on a piece of toilet paper by the sink. It was three mins so you started walking towards the test when you felt like you were going to throw up, so you ran to the stall and emptied your stomach.
"I guess that answers that?" You said flushing and walking over to the test.
You thought for sure it would say that you were pregnant but you almost missed that it didn't say that.
"Wait what?... I guess I'm just getting sick then."
"Hey are you alright? you don't look so good." Jd says when you walk out of the bathroom.
"Well thank you. And I'm fine."
Later that same day on top of being nauseous and vomiting, you got your headache back. You got dizzy but you figured it was because you weren't eating.
~~~ the next day 61 hours
*Okay I need you to run a CT on Mr. Hooks to see if he has a liver Mass."
"Umm we already did that this morning." Jd said.
"Oh.. yeah. Yeah, I'm sorry I was just super swamped this morning that's all."
"Yeah, yeah I understand." But he was still worried tho.
Some people don't like to admit that they're sick even when the signs are jumping out at them….
--
"Hey Turk how are you?" You asked him.
"I've been in surgery all morning so you know how dat be, but what's up?"
"oh nothing I just wanted to ask a question about a patient."
"oh sure what's up?"
"well she's been throwing up but she's not pregnant, she already took a test and she's been dizzy and not hungry also throwing up and forgetting things. I just wanted your second opinion on what it might be?"
"could be a few things but I would say brain tumor."
"oh."
Because they're not ready for the bad news.
"you all right?"
"yeah... great thank you."
They're not ready for the new journey thats awaits them.
Now-
"You think you have a tumor?" Jd asks me.
"I don't know I know something's wrong I need you to run some tests for me but please just keep this between us."
"okay.. wait really you don't want Dr. Cox to Know?"
"Oh no, especially not him. Can I trust you?"
"...Yeah… you can. but don't you think he's going to be mad if he finds out?"
"No because it could be nothing. But thank you so much. I owe you one."
"Uh sure, do you want to do it later tonight?"
"sounds great thank you j.d." she says kissing my cheek.
And sometimes people don't tell others about there possible sickness which can end in a big downfall.
Just Like Old Times Pt. 3 Jay Halstead x Reader
written by @anotheronechicagobog
Warnings: swearing, mature themes, Erin is ooc (I like her character but I’m pissed she just up and left still)
It had been three days and your life was still chaotic. “Calanthe, time for breakfast! You can’t stay in bed all day, sleepypants.”
“But mooooooooom...”
“I made scrambled eggs with chive, but if you don’t want them...”
“No! I want them!” She bolted out of Jay’s guest bed and sprinted towards the kitchen. You chuckled before following your daughter. You leaned on the wall near the kitchen and watched as Jay served Calanthe some eggs and toast. You smiled fondly at the scene before you. “Your mom’s the best cook, isn’t she?”
“Yeah she is!”
“Thanks, guys. So, what’s the plan for today?”
“Let’s go to the aquarium! I wanna see the belugas!”
“Sorry, kiddo, but we need to stay here, it’ll be easier to keep you two safe that way. How about we watch a movie?”
“We did that yesterday. And the day before that.”
“I know, but we have to stay here.”
“But I don’t want to stay here, Jay. It’s boring!”
“Calanthe, how about we build a pillow fort and tell stories?” You intervened, trying to keep everyone from getting upset. Calanthe and Jay seemed to have bonded quite quickly, and you wanted to preserve that. Calanthe held her breath for a moment, visibly thinking about it. “Okay.” You smiled, you knew she’d agree, she couldn’t say ‘no’ to a pillowfort. The three of you collected all the pillows, blankets, and sheets you could find in Jay’s apartment. Once all of you had gotten comfortable inside the pillowfort, Calanthe turned to you. “Mom, you go first!” You chuckled and began weaving a tale about a girl befriending a gargoyle and going on an adventure in the catacombs. Calanthe was beaming, focusing on each word that left your lips. You spared a glance at Jay and almost faltered. The way he was looking at you, heavy and wanting reminded you of what almost was. Your throat went dry and your chest constricted, but you managed to finish your story with a flourish. “And when the sun was about to rise she hugged Hugo one last time before he returned to his position at the base of the tower, facing the much more famous, but much younger, Notre Dame. Or the ruins of it at least. The end.”
“Yes! I loved that one, mom!” Then she turned to Jay, “now it’s your turn!” He looked shell-shocked for a moment. “I don’t know, Calanthe, I’m not very good at making up stories...”
“Then tell a story from your childhood or something.” He sighed heavily before staring to the side, trying to remember something. “Alright, this one time when Will and I were kids we decided to prank our mean next door neighbour...” Jay sat up straight as a wide smile spread across his face, his hands were gesturing wildly, and a true form of excitement you hadn't seen in years radiated from his eyes. “... We were still laughing our asses off on Will’s bed, peeking out the window when we could, and then our dad burst in his face was so red! I’d never seen him that angry before, but for some reason we only found it hilarious! He was stuttering sentences together and his hands were waving around, and then he stepped on a piece of lego! He started jumping around on his one good leg before he was able to walk out of our room. He didn’t speak to Will or I for two weeks! It was fantastic!” You and Calanthe were rolling on your backs laughing. You were starting to feel a stitch in your side and your eyes were watering. Calanthe was tearing up too and started to choke out “Haha-I-can’t-breathe! Hahahahahaha!” Even Jay had succumbed to the relentless onslaught of laughter his story had caused. The laughter began to cease when Jay’s cell phone rang. Doing his best not to laugh like a hyena, he answered the phone. “Halstead.” When his face immediately sobered, you and Calanthe stopped laughing too. You put your arm around her and brought her close. “Are you sure?... Absolutely sure? One hundred and ten percent sure? Okay, okay. I’ll tell them. Thanks, Voight.” He hung up and looked at you. “The team caught them. You guys are safe.” His eyes darted between you and Calanthe. “YES! WE CAN GO HOME NOW! Not that I won’t miss you or that staying with you hasn’t been awesome, but I miss being able to go to the park. WOOHOO! THIS IS AMAZING!” You and Jay looked at each other laughing as you watched your little ball of energy run around Jay’s living room cheering with her arms up. There was a hint of... what you thought was sadness on his face. But that couldn’t be it. Why would he be sad? Suddenly Calanthe stopped running and cheering. “We’ll see Jay again, right?”
“Of course! I mean... if you’re okay with that, Jay...”
“Yes! More than okay with that, actually” Awarm smile spread across his face and you felt your heart skip a beat.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were paged to head down to ED for a consult. “Dr. Choi? I’m Dr. Y/L/N, you asked for a consult.”
“Yeah, right in here, patient broke an arm trying to outrun the police during a bust.” You nodded and followed Dr. Choi into a room with police guarding the door while looking at the man’s x-rays. “Well Mr. Andrews it looks like you have a clean break. You’ll need a cast, but you won’t need surgery which is a good thing.” You smiled, you tried to be friendly with all of your patients, understanding that they came from all walks of life and may not have control of the situation they’re in. “I don’t want your help, bitch.” He then spat on you, causing you to recoil as the two officers came in the room to restrain him. “I’m fine, I’m fine. Look, Mr. Andrews, I won’t treat you if you don’t want me to, but I highly recommend treatment.” He tried to lunge off the bed at you, but the officers held him back. “What’s going on here?” A familiar voice boomed into the room. Jay’s eyes were hard and furious, you briefly flashed back to his argument with Sgt. Voight in the Intelligence break room. “Jay, I’m fine, okay? Everything’s fine.” Jay’s gaze cut to you quickly, and softened, then hardened again when he turned his eyes back to Mr. Andrews. You were an ex-female Ranger medic. You were used to sexist and occasionally violent patients. “Well, when will he be discharged so I can take him in for questioning?”
“Well Mr. Andrews refused the only remaining treatment we offered him so he can be discharged now, actually.”
“I changed my mind! I want to get my arm cast!” Jay snorted and rolled his eyes at the man on the hospital bed. “Of course.” His phone buzzed. He took a look at it and sighed, “I have to call Voight, let me know when he can go Y/L/N?”
“Of course Halstead.” As he turned to leave he quietly told the officers “If he threatens her, moves a muscle, puts her in any danger, shoot him.” You heard him shift to look at you, but your back was to him as you’d started getting the necessary equipment together to cast your patient, “Non-lethally.” He finished the order quietly. You heard murmurs of affirmation and he left. You couldn’t tell if he knew you heard or not.
Calanthe was babbling about her day as you were making dinner. She was excited because Jay was coming over for Saturday night dinners. It had been made a habit after your stint in protective custody. You were making borscht, something you hadn’t made in a while, but Calanthe always loved it. You were hoping Jay would, too. Just as the food was finished there was a knock at the door. You rolled your eyes and went to open the door, because despite the fact that you gave Jay a key he used it scarcely. You opened the door to see two stoney faced detectives. “Detective Dawson, Detective Lindsay, how can I help you?” You frowned, they were wearing their badges and looked like they were here for work. “Y/N, we have some bad news, you might want to sit down.” You nodded numbly and sat on the couch, away from Calanthe who was still seated at the kitchen island. “Hi guys! Are you here for dinner, too?” Calanthe was so young, and couldn’t have possibly read the situation correctly. You looked at Dawson. “I’ll stay with her.” He stood up and went to the kitchen. You looked at Lindsay tears forming in the corners of your eyes. “Please tell me Jay’s not dead. Please.”
“He’s not dead. But he was shot and he’s at MED now, you’re his emergency contact, and Voight thought it’d be better if we told you in person, and one of us staying with Calanthe while you go to the hospital. Presuming you even want to go-”
“Of course I want to go. I want to see him.”
“Alright.” Lindsay sighed and nodded begrudgingly. The ride over was tense. “I get the feeling that you don’t like me. I’m just curious as to why.”
“Y/N can we not talk about this?”
“Alright, fine. I just... You’re Jay’s partner, and Jay is important to me, so I feel like I should get to know you better. But you’re always glaring at me or avoiding me, and I just don’t know what I did to you.” She responded with silence, so you sighed and followed her lead for the rest of the trip.
You sat in the waiting room with Will and the Intelligence team, minus Dawson because he was with Calanthe. You and Will were sitting side by side, sharing your strength. Across from you Erin had her arms across her chest, glaring at you. You were leaving it alone, but Will couldn’t. “What’s with you lately, Lindsay? Why are you glaring at Y/N?” He was snapping and you knew it had to do with worrying about Jay, so you tried to calm him down. “Will, take a deep breath.”
“No. She’s been glaring at you and fighting with Jay because he’s not in love with her anymore!”
“You’re wrong! Jay still loves me! The only reason we haven’t gotten back together yet is because he found out he got this bitch pregnant and she didn’t tell him!” You were shocked. Is that what everyone thought? “Regardless of whether or not Calanthe is Jay’s daughter, you have no right to treat Y/N like this! You should know how much she means to him!”
“Yeah, and it’s her fault he was even shot in the first place!”
“What?” You choked out. You were responsible for Jay being shot? “Yeah. You heard me. It’s your fault! If Jay hadn’t been so distracted talking about you, he wouldn’t have been shot!” You burst into tears, you felt your heart go cold. You didn’t want to believe it was your fault, but you had to. What Erin said, the way the rest of Intelligence was looking at you, you knew she was right. Jay was in surgery and it was all your fault. You tried to get up and leave, knowing you didn’t belong here, but Will wrapped his arms around your shoulders and kept you in your chair. “No, Y/N, it’s not your fault. Just... stay, until he can see you. Please.”
“Will, I don’t-”
“He’s right, Y/N, it’s not your fault. Plus, Jay will want to see you when he wakes up.”
“But what Erin said, the way you guys looked at me-”
“What Voight just said is true, Y/N. It really isn’t your fault. And what Erin said... she took out of context.” Kevin smiled at you then turned to give Erin a dirty look. You nodded and leaned back in your seat, distressed, worried, and confused.
Dr. Rhodes told all of you hours ago when Jay was out of surgery, but he still hadn’t woken up yet. You, Will, and Erin were sitting by Jay’s bed. You and Will were on either side, each holding one of his hands. Erin sat near his feet glaring at you both and muttering under her breath. You were trying to ignore her but it was hard when you could hear her saying some nasty things about you.
Suddenly Jay’s eyes fluttered open and his breathing sped up. The three of you stood up. You moved to lean over him, get a better look at his face, but Erin shoved you out of the way and took your place. “Jay, I’m here.” She cooed, her face and voice deceptively soft. “N-no... N oo... Y/... N... Y/N... Y/N...” He was blinking and breathing rapidly, panicking, searching the room, and when his eyes landed on you, he calmed. “Y/N.” He called out to you desperately, trying to wiggle his hand out of Erin’s grasp. “Y/N!” His breaking voice and pleading eyes brought tears to your eyes. You saw Will gesture to come around to the side of the bed where he was, so you did. Jay’s eyes following your form as you went. “Hey Jay, how do you feel?”
“A hell of a lot better now that you’re here.” You laughed, “Jay, that was so cheesy. I’m really glad that you’re okay.” You ran your hands through his hair, his soft eyes taking in your face. He sighed and leaned into your touch. “I love you Y/N.” You stroked his face and hair, making him sleepy. “I love you too, Jay. Get some rest, I’ll be here when you wake up.” Jay smiled, sighed, and let his eyes close and his breathing even out.
