To celebrate 100+ followers on tumblr I wrote a fic for the other DeNile brother i haven't written!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking around and following me on this fun writing journey so far.

Truly nice seeing how many of you have liked the stories I've made from characters I've loved so dearly since childhood, and now I write them genderbent and with romance because that's the power of a fandom girly, welp. Enjoy

I decided to make a headcanons fic! to get a feel for what I want to show/what the relationship is like between the two

I kinda describe [Name] as feminine and sporty, wearing skirts while skating (with headgear and knee pads ofc we have to be safe while skateboarding)

-Cleon is the type of boyfriend who always makes a dramatic entrace with you while holding onto your waist "Make way for the royal couple! Us!" He yells out, getting a giggle out of you from his antics "i don't know how you can deal with him" Claws wispers as he walks passed

- Cleon is the type of boyfriend that he wants everyone to know you two are together and gets matching necklaces with eachothers initial inside a heart, he also always is holding onto you're waist right until you two separate to you're respective friend groups.

-Cleon loves to kiss you on the forehead or the back of youre hand when you two go to your separate classrooms "see you soon my ruby have fun in class" he takes your hand and softly gives if a kiss while making eye contact with you "thank you baby, hope you have tons of new gossip to hear about in class" you laughed and he gives you a pout before giving in and laughing along "honestly better than too hear the teacher go on for hours" you two separate and you give him one final wave.

-Cleon who after school waits for you at the front and when you place a kiss on the cheek as a 'thanks for waiting', he opens the door to the limo for you and drives you home like always

-Cleon is the type of boyfriend to fix you're makeup if he notices a way he can enhance your already beautiful scaly smooth face

-Cleon looks at the color pattern of your scales and traces them with his fingers ever so gently " the patterns you're skin adorns on you my ruby are devine" you smile at him "thank you" you give him a kiss and one of your snakes does too on his cheek.

-Cleon much like his brother is into fashion and giving meaningful gift to his ghoulfriend;so often he gives you perfumes you like, figurines of characters from shows you like, plushees that you decorate your room with.

And one tims you told him that you where thinking about getting a new skateboard he got you one the next day, in varies different colors/patterns/ with designs on them and so many wheels to mix and match

"Uhhh babe this is nice and all but isn't it kinda overkill?" You asked with concern "I mean don't get me wrong it's a nice gesture but a simple skateboard would do" he chuckles "nonsense if my darling ghoulfriend wants a new skateboards she's getting them" he smiles proudly.

- Dates with Cleon are quality time together at either of you guy's home, to the beach on the weekend to his father's condo, the boovies, mall dates are regular because you sometimes can't juts go on a 8 hour shopping spree so you wait at his house in his room while on a video call "how's this one do you like the pattern?" He gleams from the other side of your phone "babe that pattern with the 16th pants you showed me would look great on you" you munch on some chips "you're absolutely right! Thank you darling"

- Cleon adores how you are very feminine but also loves to see you in you're "lazy clothse" or wearing his shirt while resting on his bed belly down while you kick you're feet back and forth it's so cute to him and he blushes when you just go right into his closet to get his shirt.

"You looks so pretty with my shirt darling, why don't you take some home and take a picture everytime you wear one" he asked 'innocently' "sure,only if you wear my crop tops" you bluff "deal" "huh, we'll send me pictures too" you two shook on it.

-Cleon Friday night gets comfortable clothes gets in bed with you and the two of you going on to have a drama show marathon "that bitch!" You exclaim angrily "I know right?" Cleon responds on his chair next to the bed under his face mask with pickles on his eyelids.

-Cleon who posts you on his socials with you're permission and tags you and the tittles are usually "me and my ruby" you and cleon but him kissing your cheek. "date night with her~" you accross from the table at the restaurant smilling at him with a smile that he is sure you could make him do youre bidding. "the prettiest goddess" and its a picture of you facing the sun hitting you just right with its orange and yellow tones

- Cleon loves to comb your hair in the nights that you stay over; he even pets a few of the snakes every once in a while. They often look content and lick his palm,when his head is on your lap and you lean your head down so one of the snakes can plant a small snake kiss "looks like someone has a crush on you babe" you joke

When you stay for the night so you two can sleep together on his comfy bed, he usually goes under you're arm snuggles into to you're chest because he loves to hear you're heart beat until he finally goes to sleep with his arms around you're torso and when he's sound asleep you kiss his cheek and so those one of you're snakes.

-Cleon who just adores you as if you yourself held the sun in you're palms no. As if you where a glorious goddess of the sun and universe and he is so lucky to have you as his ruby and him as you're babe

So I actually used some motivation that was lying around in my brain today to start a little snippit of a TDP fanfic/headcannon/ whatever you wanna call it, that I had in mind. Is it as good as some of my other non fandom works?- No not really, but it may be something. I may also post a picture of the different characters and their ages and whatnot. The snippit will be in the next post.

A writer friend told me something that broke my heart a little bit today; they're going to quit publishing their fanfic.

My instant thought was that they had been trolled or attacked or that something terrible had happened in their life because this person is so passionate about their writing. It wasn't any of that. Engagement with their works has been going down, as it has for many of us. Comments are like gold dust a lot of the time, and just looking through the historical comment counts on old fics on ao3 demonstrates this trend very clearly. It was not simply the comments dropping off which caused them to decide to stop posting, however.

My friend came across a discord server for their fandom (I should point out here that their fandom interest and mine diverged a couple of years ago, we stay in touch but don't currently read each other's posts because I'm not into their fandom and they would rather gouge their eyes out with a wooden spoon than read anything Star Wars) and specifically to share fic in that fandom. They joined, because we all love a good fic rec, only to discover that their latest multichapter fic, which has almost no comments and very few kudos, is being hotly discussed in this server as one of the best stories ever. Not one of these people has bothered to say this to them on the fic. When they asked, none of participants could see the point in telling the author of the fic they apparently loved so much that they love it.

This discovery has absolutely destroyed my friend's love of sharing fic. They share because they love seeing other people's enjoyment, and fic writers do that through comments and kudos/reblogs/likes because we don't get paid. There is no literary critic writing a blog post/article about how amazing the story is for us to copy and keep/frame. There is no money from royalties. All we have are the words of the people reading our works.

Those people on that server could have taken five minutes of the time they spent gushing about how amazing my friend's story was to other people and used it to tell the one person guaranteed to want to hear that praise how much they loved it. They could have taken a moment to express their opinion to the person who spent hours upon hours plotting, writing, editing, and posting those chapters. Instead, they deprived my friend of thing that keeps them sharing their writing, and in the process have killed their love of it. My friend now feels used and unmotivated.

I won't be sharing a link to their fic, they said I could share their experience but not their identity. I know they plan to post one final chapter. I know they intend to express their hurt at being excluded from the praise for the thing they created, and I know they intend to announce that as a consequence they will not be posting for a long while, if at all.

So please, I beg you, don't hide your love of a story from the writer. It's just about the only thing we have.

At some point "fanfic can be as good as professional writing" became "fanfic should be as good as professional writing" and that's caused major damage to fandom spaces.

Please, for the love of god, please don’t be this person. No matter how long it’s been since an update, no matter how many unfinished stories are sitting on their account, no matter what - do not be this person.

Not only is it insanely rude, but you also do more damage than you think be being such a self-entitled ass about something someone created for free and for fun. “This author” can see what you say.

Before January 2025, download your favorite fics, especially those with smut or queer content.

If Project 2025 goes into effect (which it very likely will now that we have three red branches of government in the US), they may attempt to restrict the use/sharing of media on sites like ao3.

This particularly applies to fics with smut or any type of queer content, because the official Project 2025 document states, "Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children, for instance... has no claim to First Amendment protection... Pornography should be outlawed."

Now, I don't expect ao3 to disappear or go anywhere without a fight, but it's best to be on the safe side these days.

To download your favorite fics:

Go to archiveofourown.org and open the fic you want to download.

At the top right corner, to the right of the 'subscribe' button, is a button that says 'download'. Click it.

A drop-down menu will give you the option to choose the format of your download. Choose your preferred format (.epub and .pdf are my personal favorites -- .epub lets you open a fic in the apple books app and .pdf is compatible with like every device and program out there).

When you click the button for your preferred format, a pop-up window appears confirming your choices. The title of the document will default to the title of the fic, so be aware of that and consider changing conspicuous titles to something ignorable, especially if you share the computer.

You're done! Now do this with all your favorite fics!
