❀ My Boku no Hero Academia DR ❀ (~ student version ~)

NOTE: I haven't shifted yet, this is based on my script and ideas for this DR

My other main DR (besides my fantasy DR). Honestly, when I started shifting my clear goal was my fantasy DR, but two months into my shifting journey I got hooked on BNHA and started wanting to shift there, it was "just for fun" at the beginning, but now it's one of my biggest motivations.

In my main BNHA DR I'm a student at UA. I have an alternate DR where I'm an adult (not exactly a pro hero, it's complicated) and my DR self is a different person with a different quirk, but I'll make a separate post about that DR later.

My quirk is mirror skin, I can turn my body into a reflecting surface like a mirror. This allows me to reflect attacks and send them back to my enemies, and it's good for stealth missions because I can also camouflage by reflecting my surroundings like a chameleon. Or I can reflect the light to send signals or blind my opponets (similar to Toru's special move). My skin also becomes harder and more resistent when I'm using my quirk (but the mirror can crack if my enemy is too strong). My hero costume is made of a reflecting silvery fabric (similar to a mirror so it blends with my skin when I'm transformed).

I have blond hair, grey eyes, I'm short and tiny, and I love wearing soft fairycore / romantic style clothes and accessories. My signature accessory is a flower crown, I always wear one, usually a simple one with tiny white flowers, but I have different colors and sizes to match my outfits. My room is also decorated fairycore style, with fake leaves, butterflies, mushrooms and fairytale vibes.

I'm in class 1-A because I love them so much, and I'm so excited to meet everyone! Honestly, I haven't scripted any friendships or relationships because I want to meet them in person first and see how it goes, who I vibe with... so I can't tell you who my best friends are, but I can't wait to find out. But I scripted that I live in the same area as Kirishima and I meet him on my way to school on the first day, because he's one of my favorite characters, and making a friend even before starting school makes me feel more confident (I'm very shy and never made friends easily in my CR, plus he's so nice and always tries to make everyone feel included!) And I also scripted little scenarios to interact with most of my favorite characters, so I make sure I'll have a chance to talk and spend some time with all of them.

I'll probably intern with Fat Gum, he's so nice and I get to spend more time with my boys Kiri and Tamaki, but... I'm not sure yet, I don't want to script too much because I also want to be surprised. There are some things I haven't scripted at all like the sports festival, I have no idea how I'll perform there, I assume I'll pass to the 2nd round because everyone in the hero course did, but the teams and the 1-on-1 fights are a mystery.

Also, while I haven't physically scripted it, I imagine my DR in 3D and looking completely real, so I use the BNHA stage plays (and some cosplay photos) to visualize how the characters might look like if they were 3D. Not exactly face claims, though, because I'm open to them looking different, it's just a visual aid. And I don't mind if they end up looking animated either, I'll leave it up to my subconscious.

"mithrun is the only real monsterfucker in dungeon meshi" is objectively the funniest bit you can get out of his everything, but in all seriousness i think his attraction to his love interest is deliberately overstated—and that makes sense, because romantic jealousy is a classic and digestible motive, which is explicitly what kabru was aiming for in condensing mithrun's backstory, and also because until chapter 94, mithrun wasn't willing to admit to the true nature of his desires.

but because romantic envy is both classic and digestible, it probably isn’t a unique enough or complicated enough desire to tempt a demon’s appetite. mithrun’s wish, as far as we can figure from kabru’s reduced retelling, was to have a life in which he had never become one of the canaries, and that carries like 3857 implications and desires within it. that’s delicious. his love interest acts as sort of a red herring to his motivation for making it, though. (side note: i'm saying "love interest" here because, keeping in mind that i barely speak japanese on a good day anymore, "想い人" is something i'd usually take as just kind of an old-fashioned and romantic way to refer to a lover, but in context i wonder if both the connotation of yearning and the vagueness are intentional, and i think this phrasing gets those aspects of it more effectively. anyway.)

mithrun considered his love interest to be untrustworthy. there was a minute where i thought that comment might be about a similar-looking elf (yugin, one of his squad members), but comparing the two…

the "sketchy" arrow is definitely referring to the elf we know as his love interest—the bangs go toward her right, she only has the one forehead ornament, and, most notably, her ears aren't notched.

every time she’s given a full-body depiction in his dungeon, she’s drawn as a chimera, with the body of a snake from the waist down. (side note: the “what if a dungeon has chimeras before reaching level 4?”/“then the dungeon lord is unstable” exchange just being mithrun grilling his past self alive is so funny. he’s so. but anyway) there are a couple things about this.

first, the snake part of the chimera appears to be modeled after some species of coral snake mimic

which, in the biology-for-fun manga, i… doubt is a coincidence, especially with the added context of the “untrustworthy” comment. the dungeon’s conjured illusion of mithrun’s love interest was a harmless copycat of a venomous original. for whatever reason, he felt this person was a threat and made up a "safe" version of her to be in a relationship with, and while it’s definitely possible to be attracted to or even love someone you find to be toxic and/or intimidating, when you take that into consideration alongside the configuration of her body, you get some interesting implications.

which brings us to our second point: if we assume that mithrun was not in fact fucking a snake, then sexual attraction, at least, was so far removed from his idea of a relationship with this person that he did not even bother to keep her dungeon copy human enough to maintain the illusion of the option of a sexual relationship. this is somewhat echoed in the depictions of their interactions, which also imply a frankly unexpected romantic distance. she kisses his cheek and he doesn't seem to react; she's at the edge of a narrow bed with only one set of pillows, on top of his blankets while he's underneath them.

the kiss is particularly interesting because it seems to contrast the text. kabru's narration tells us this was everything mithrun could have asked for, but mithrun is there looking unreadable to pensive, likely because this is right before the panel that makes it clear things in the dungeon are beginning to go wrong.

walking through this backwards for a minute, we have the physical barrier of his bedding and the spatial separation inherent in a bed made for one person, the emotional barrier of his mounting anxiety getting in the way of his ability to enjoy the affection he sought, and... the snake, which historically carries the connotation of temptation, yes, but also mistrust, barring physical intimacy. okay. ok. if a dungeon reflects the mentality of its lord, all of this might suggest that mithrun was not able to have any real desire for a relationship with this person. his unwillingness to be vulnerable or let another person in was insurmountable. but in that case, why was she such a focal point that she remained to the end, after his dungeon had stopped creating iterations of his friends to come and visit him? why would he get so upset over her meeting with his brother that he became lord of a dungeon about it?

well. mithrun's brother was also interested in her, probably genuinely. and mithrun had to win.

you have an older brother who your parents completely ignore, probably in part because he is chronically ill/disabled and almost definitely in part because he received a ton of recessive traits that resulted in rumors that he was an illegitimate child. you are aware, most likely because those same parents fucking told you, that you actually are an illegitimate child. but they keep you around because you had the good fortune of looking just like your mother. what can that possibly teach you but that you, like your brother, are disposable?

it's utterly unsurprising that mithrun, under these circumstances, developed a pathological need to be better than everyone around him. people don't keep you otherwise. i'd argue this is also why he says he looked down on everyone he knew while milsiril claims his dungeon reeked of feelings of inferiority—he sought out people's worst traits and prioritized them in his mind to protect his already extremely fragile sense of self-worth, and all the while he tried to be as likable and high-performing as he possibly could be. his parents disposed of him anyway, but even then he tried to keep up the performance. he was kind to everyone. he never once lost to a dungeon.

when he saw his "love interest" meeting up with his brother, what he saw was himself being replaced by a person his parents had always treated as worthless, and if that was what they thought of the child they'd kept, what value could anyone possibly see in the bastard they'd given away to die? mithrun and kabru tell the story like he wanted to win this unnamed elf's heart, but it was never about being with her. it was about cementing his worth, proving that he didn't deserve to be thrown away.

and so it's particularly cruel that his demon discarded him, too. but maybe it's also particularly gentle that, in the end, there was someone who refused to even consider giving up on him.

yeah. it's love. you wanted to be loved, even when the only way you were able to understand it was through the desire to be wanted, and you wanted that so badly that the idea of being consumed felt like the promise of finally mattering to someone.

i know it will never happen but i so desperately desire an origins-type playable backstory thing in all games but especially veilguard. i feel like it added so much depth to origins and made you feel instantly connected to your character in a way that gets lost in games like inquisition where you fill in the blanks as you go except for the bare basics. like, i do enjoy the freedom to willy nilly decide where a character was before the events of the story from a creative perspective, but the playable origins were just so good! especially when you go back to where your warden is from and can engage differently with the arcs there

So. Danny has discovered he might erm, might be technically a necromancer. At least as far as magic is concerned. Like even if it’s just via resurrecting himself the magic side of things (god, he’s more scientist- sided dangit) count it as such. 

Which means that half the time someone tries to summon a necromancing-esque being, he’s the one who gets tugged if he’s even a centimeter within range. It was annoying enough in high school, it’s no less annoying in this world they’ve all moved to. 

On the bright side, thanks to also being half dead himself, the summonings and other rituals can’t actually drag him somewhere. It just causes him to feel like someone was crushing a lung or two, which honestly nothing new. (Gosh were those days of vigilante work really that violent? Huh, guess they were)

What he wasn’t expecting was for a tiny child, a living child, to track him down despite him not existing legally or anything similar in this world, to revive their previous local child vigilante. Which like, hey, first of all, he has a few questions? Just a couple and yeah sure, he’ll shake on it- can he have your name first there kid…? 

Tim, on the other hand, is getting a little concerned when he realizes a lot of the questions the probable-fae keeps asking are in line with the stuff CPS asks. (Unknown to him, that is exactly where Danny is getting several of his questions about this scrawny vigilante kid. Erm. He might have to take the kid, for like, his own safety- hey Frostbite he needs your help he has some questions-)

What progress at home has biden enacted? What policies of his show that he is making progress that prove he is actually different than trump?

I like to pretend I have faith in humanity, so I'll answer as if you're asking this in good faith.

Biden's DEA has lifted restrictions on telehealth prescriptions to make appointments and assistance more accessible.

He put a funding package into place to help unhoused people get access to mental and physical healthcare, as well as short-term and long-term housing.

He has attempted and is still attempting to get student debt relief through - this was blocked by Republican judges appointed by Trump, but he's still working on it.

Infrastructure repair - his administration has budgeted funds to actually fix some severely-damaged and frequently-traveled bridges.

Trying to expand access to healthcare to include undocumented immigrants who came to the USA as children (Dreamers) under the Affordable Care Act. Support for Navigator programs and outreach has also been increased.

He has vetoed Republican-led bills that were attempting to overturn environmental protections - one that would have forbidden investment fund managers to consider climate change in their portfolios (I have two degrees in accounting and this is actually huge), and another that would have overturned restrictions on agricultural runoff into our waterways.

He and his administration worked for ages to get rail workers paid sick days.

This is just some of what he's been doing. Meanwhile, Trump and other Republicans want to criminalize the lives of LGBT people like you and me. They want to eliminate no-fault divorce and force births that will kill parents or devastate them financially. They have stated flat out that they want to install a military dictatorship in the USA. They attempted to put that in motion on January 6th, 2021. They failed once. They will do better next time.

One party wants to house the homeless and expand social safety nets, while the other one wants to criminalize homelessness. One of them wants a future in which I might be able to vote to change how much of a war machine my country is, while the other one wants to eliminate my ability to vote entirely. Those are not the same. Those literally are opposites.

At the end of the day, all you and I can do is choose to do the least amount of harm possible. You and I cannot choose to do no harm. This is the USA, we sell war, you and I cannot choose to do no harm. I wish we could, my god do I wish we could, but that is not an option. So we grieve for the harm we couldn't eliminate and work to minimize the harm that is done. Despite all the crap they support, Democrats are the minimum amount of harm right now. Acting like they aren't is exactly what brought us to an election where our options are a future where we are either wading in blood or drowning in it.

Not voting for Biden will not help Palestine. Not voting for Biden will guarantee a Republican president who will make the situation in Palestine WORSE. AND it'll hurt a lot of other places as well, both at home and abroad, because Republicans are about business and the USA is in the business of war! And I would very much like that to change someday! I would very much like to someday be able to choose to do no harm! And I know what I have to do to try for that future, so what are YOU going to do? There is no standing off to the side in this. If you aren't helping pull, you're the dead weight we're pulling. Are you going to dig your feet into the mud and blood and drown us there? Or are you going to get the fuck off your ass, grit your teeth, and help us pull free?

That one word sent a shock through Danny's system, like he was back in the portal being electrocuted all over again. Still, he knew what was at stake, so even though that look on Tim's face made him want to fall to his knees and explain everything, he knew he couldn't.

Instead, he raised his gun as the portals filling the sky multipled and merged together as the ghost zone tried to absorb their reality. Channeling his inner Dan, he gave Tim a mocking smirk, What? You didn't think all that was real, did you?"

"You...you're lying!"

Danny tilted his head at an angle he knew would look as smug and condescending as possible, and judging by the burst of rage he felt coming from Nightwing a few rooftops over, it worked. "Tim, you know better." He said in Bruce's voice, It was the exact thing Bruce had told them when they were starting thier relationship.

Everyone had disapproved when he had brought his new boyfriend home a few months after meeting at the skatepark. Bruce hated Danny from the get-go, more suspicious of him than he had been with any of the batkids' previous partners.

Danny opened his mouth to mock him more but was quickly cut off by a punch to the face, not by Nightwing, or by Robin, who was still racing towards him at seemingly Mach speeds. Nope. It was Hood, who looked madder than Danny had ever seen him, surprising both Tim and Danny alike.

"You did all of this just to steal our souls and trap us in some weird afterlife dimension as your slaves?!"

Danny had no idea where the slaves thing came from, but it sounds villainous, so Danny's gonna go with it, "Of course!"

My alternate BNHA DR where I'm not a student, but not exactly a pro hero... it's complicated.

In this DR I have a healing quirk which is very similar to Rapunzel's magic. When I sing, my hair glows and whoever listens to my voice gets healed from their wounds. If they aren't injured, they get energized and in a better mood. Because of that (and because I'm a huge Disney fan), I chose Rapunzel as my hero name, and even my hero costume is inspired by Rapunzel's dress.

Fun fact: Disney tried to sue me for that, but then they realized how similar I was to Rapunzel, how charming and popular I was, and that I was basically a real life Disney princess, and they decided to sponsor me instead.

I don't work as a hero, but I got a special hero license so I could use my powers at my job and in emergencies. In order to get it I had to learn basic fighting skills, how to rescue people and other hero stuff. I work at a hospital, using my voice to cure people, but I also help local heroes when there's a villain attack or an emergency, mostly helping victims and healing them. I'm not a fighter but I can take care of myself.

I have short brown hair in a flip-out style, similar to Rapunzel after she cut her hair (I used to have long hair and dye it blond when I was younger, but got tired of it and chose comfort instead). I'm good at singing and have a beautiful voice. Sadly, my quirk doesn't work through recordings, if it did I'd probably have become a singer. Rapunzel has become my personality and I usually wear Rapunzel inspired outfits. I have an insane amount of Disney stuff like plushies, mugs or accessories.

I have three different DRs, each with a different S/O, where my life and circumstances are slightly different (I don't know if I'll end up shifting to all three or choose just one).

In one of them, I work at a hospital in Kyushu and sometimes help local heroes in emergencies, so I met Hawks during one of those times and collaborated with him and his team. He protected me from a villain while I was trying to help the victims, then I took care of him at the hospital after the battle, we started getting to know each other and became friends, and eventually ended up falling in love.

The second one is very similar but I live in a different city and end up falling in love with Tensei. He offers me a position in his agency as a support hero (to heal the heroes when needed and to help evacuate and take care of the victims).

And the third one would be my teacher DR. I start working at UA as Recovery Girl's assistant, because there is some problematic class where kids get injured constantly and she can't keep up with so much work, so she requests someone with a healing quirk to help her. Because class 1-A practically need their own healer, I end up going with them everywhere and supervising their training sessions so the poor nurse can have some rest and take care of the rest of the school. Because of that, I spend a lot of time with Aizawa, and even though we're quite different, we end up getting closer, becoming good friends and eventually falling in love. After some time, I also start working teaching first aid classes at UA. Oh and of course I love taking care of Eri and making her watch all my favorite Disney movies.
