My opinion that absolutely no one asked for is that genderswap Dean would, without a question, be hyper-feminine and not (at all) a tomboy. And why is that? Asks no one. Because if Dean’s original form is hyper-masc, then if he were to swap, the same thing would apply, just the opposite. He’d lean on it as a defense mechanism. It’s that silly simple, I swear. Anything else is just wrong.

So Dean would have long hair and dress up in micro-shorts, mini-skirts, skinny jeans, cowboy or combat boots with small heels and super skin-tight tops with John’s jacket over all that—and he would absolutely always wear mascara to emphasize his/hers stunningly long lashes and gorgeous green eyes. And I think he’d wear something like VS body mist, sweet like vanilla, coconut, stuff like that.

Samantha would be a tomboy tho, like a cute nerdy tall one.

my opinion no one asked for: "2020 trend" on TikTok

okay so i'm just gonna be mainly mindlessly rambling but to anyone who uses tiktok on this app and has the same fyp as me; what are your thoughts on the "turning 2025 into 2020" trends?

me personally? i love the idea! they have the right vision and passion to bring back being "cringe" but... why does it have to be 2020? why can't 2025 just be respectful and accepting on it's own? why can't we just learn from our past and create a bigger and better community for "weird" kids and people without being problematic or having to cling onto the past??

and now, this isn't new behavior. we've been rattling the bars of our "cringe" enclosures since the beginning. for years people have tried to relive the past– 80s, 90s, 2000s, and so on and so back! it's totally understandable! i've been a victim of it! "old" and "nostalgic" things are awesome! but i don't understand why we have to be at war with different aesthetics and generations and why we can't just learn how not to be so hateful or so afraid of the future..

i feel we should stop trying to recreate moments in the past and focus on creating new fun things for today and appreciate the present the best we can. i love the cringe freedom movement and i know it can be hard with new trends and society being disapproving and harsh but when has that stopped people before? it sucks to say it may always be this way. if you dont like something, nothing is forcing you to look at or associate with it. if you do? rock on! be proud of it!

go be happy! go be "cringe"! heal your inner child! typing quirks, kins, roleplay, music, art styles, cosplay, makeup– have fun. it doesn't have to be a "trend".

just watched barbie and a part of me felt exactly like this (photo duh) in the middle of the movie.

a truly masterpiece, reconnecting childhood memories and realizing that not everything needs to go a certain way in life.

the color theory in the ending brought tears into my eyes so bad, the dialogue was spot one and it healed a part of my inner child.

to me it's a women's movie, showing something that only girls would pass through and understand, the knowledge/confusion/joy/anger of being a woman and reconciling their childhood through humor and clever remarks.

a beautiful fun movie that broke my heart in the loveliest way possible

CBFN4000 is an au version of MCYT Hermitcraft’s Cubfan, set in my DBHC (or Detroit Become Hermitcraft) AU! This au is inspired by the 2018 game Detroit Become Human, but not because it really has anything to do with DBH—I simply yoinked the android mechanics and incorporated them into the world of Hermitcraft. It began as a S8 au, and has roughly followed the hermitcraft timeline up to the present! 

Cub was the last android made during Season 8. While many of the hermit androids were made at the beginning of season 8 and a few were made for season 9, Cub was finished and activated mid-late Season 8, around the time when Hermits started noticing the Big Moon. Cub’s model ended up being a sloppy experiment in deviation, as Doc suggested they try to transfer deviancy to an android upon activation to try and avoid traumatic situations that might cause an android to deviate violently or upsettingly, such as Etho’s, Tango’s, or Mumbo’s experiences. While this went relatively well initially, it clearly wasn’t very thoroughly thought out, as Xisuma (who is normally so adamant and detail-oriented when it comes to assuring the androids’ safety with experiments like this) wasn’t truly himself due to external manipulation and mostly left a relatively young-deviant Doc to carry out the project himself. 

Cub, though adjusting to sentience rather well at first, very quickly became wrapped up in the Big Moon happenings on the server, new personality and inexperience to emotions like fear and ignorance completely overwhelming his young system. He became obsessive over the implications and consequences of the Season 8 Moon Apocalypse, joining the Mooners and spreading his conspiracy theories religiously throughout the server as he descended into madness. The insanity was like a virus to his programming, pervasive and all-engulfing, and Cub’s final attempt to free himself from the Moon’s impact with the Earth—to launch himself on a llama into space via potion-powered TNT(insane btw)— left his hands and feet singed and cracked to ruin.

The experiment, considered a horrific failure by a deeply shameful—and more awake—S9 Xisuma, left Doc and Xisuma with the decision to reset him for the new season, and they ended up pairing him with a hermit like they had done with the other androids until they had found deviancy enough to pursue their own projects. So, at the start of season 9 and fresh after a reset, Cub was paired with Scar. Naturally, because Scar is… Scar, Cub deviated almost instantly after being given to him, and very quickly adopted the iconic lazy, stoic, amused attributes normally associated with Cubfan. Scar’s tendency towards mischief and general shenanigans grew instantly on Cub, and the two were an immediate inseparable pair. So much so that when Scar began rambling one day about his Season 5 Hermitcraft Shenanigans (where deals with the Vex may or may not have been involved), Cub immediately stated he was interested in being in on it. Whatever “it” means. It’s unclear if Cub also made a deal with the vex or became connected to them in some other way, but… well, he got Doc’s help to trick out his eyes, hair, and back to best fit the part. Scar is very jealous that he can't magically make himself have the same features to match.

Cub is closest with Scar, but he gets along just as well with any of the other hermits! He’s close with Jevin and many of the other redstoners like Etho and Doc, who are the other two androids I’ve put on artfight!

Cub's eyes can light up in the dark, and he’s the only android who has edited his programming so that the default state of his LED is white, not blue. It still will go yellow and red if his processors are working particularly hard, but he’s replaced the blue setting on his LED with white to better match the Vex vibe. Cub has all of the vibes of a fae. If that’s anything <3

I've seen a few posts about women and pants now and many of them are very good, and not to nitpick those posts or downplay religious sexism or anything, but I have to emphasise:

Somebody who DOESN'T live in a controlling religious country/cult/family is also affected by sexism. We all know that, right? Secular parts of the first world also have opinions about how women dress, including when it comes to trousers, especially in childhood and in institutions like schools and the workplace

Me and many people my age (20s) remember being forced into skirts, punished and shamed by parents & teachers & peers & possibly then bosses about what we wear not being feminine enough, and it wasn't by deeply religious sects. Many updates to dress codes are very new and sexist views are still in place in many institutions. Normalised societal misogyny wants women (and people they want to treat as women) to dress femininely, down to what KIND of pants they're allowed to wear (compare a pink top and jeggings to mens jeans and tell me these two women are treated the same. Hating women in pantsuits is still a sexist office joke today, and even those outfits are feminine compared to male suits, which raise eyebrows when worn by women). The women I know who wear trousers regularly are literally otherwise feminine, and all wear dresses to events.

I know trousers have become much more normalised over the past few decades in secular society (yay!! the result of many many years of effort and lawbreaking) but let's not be absolute when we talk about the pants concept lol. Especially within a larger conversation about female/transmasc/intersex/transfem masculinity and social perceptions, especially in an age of rising fascism

Hot 4am take but I feel like if we want to get people more interested in making their yards a more habitable space for wildlife like insects, we have to acknowledge that ‘Don’t want bugs in your house’ is still a 100% fair and valid point of view. ‘Loves nature’ and ‘doesn’t want roaches spiders and mosquitoes in the house’ aren’t opposites.

And with that in mind, when we propose to people that spraying pesticides around houses is Not A Good Idea, Actually, I feel like we need to give an alternative asides from ‘deal with it.’

I know we all tend to read more into a situation than what is actually there, but really, there is only what we are told and shown. Sam was depressed in s8 when he thought Dean was dead , he said it was like his whole world imploded and the walls came crashing down and he ran. But it doesn't mean he was drunk when he hit the dog. In fact, he was quite sober when he rushed the dog to the vet, also, the dog only suffered a broken leg. A car the size of the Impala would kill the dog with no problem, unless Sam was driving slow.

I've seen a lot of meta about Sam's mental state and/or sobriety during this time. A lot claiming he had to have been drunk and driving erratically to hit the dog, but the fact Sam was sober at the vet and the dog wasn't seriously injured would show he wasn't.

I think everyone, including myself, is unsatisfied with that whole s8 story because it's not like Sam at all to not look for Dean. However, Carver wanted to rebuild the relationship between the boys that had been all but destroyed in previous seasons, and he chose to tear it down to the studs to rebuild it better than before.

I guess Carver felt like if Sam didn't look for Dean and had a nice normal life, it would break the relationship down to where it could be rebuilt into the beautifully tragic love it was supposed to be. One not broken by girlfriends, or friends, or life goals.

do you guys remember when sam was drunk for weeks straight after dean died for the first time and he literally had to start squatting in houses because he was spending all the money he ever had on alcohol

during Dís' pregnancies he acts like a rock for her and her nervous husband, while he is secretly terrified when she goes into labour

he weeps the first time he gets to hold his nephews (and the 10 times afterwards)

he handles Fíli like a bomb in the beginning, because he is scared of accidently dropping or hurting him

after Fíli is weaned and Kíli is born, Dís and her husband have a hard time, since Kíli is a very restless baby. To give them some more breathing room, little Fíli spends the next few years in a sling tied around Thorin's chest and accompanies him everywhere. Thorin is more than a little sad, when this time ends, but fortunately soon Kíli is weaned and then Thorin gets to carry him around everywhere

he gives them cute nicknames. Fíli is his jewel and Kíli his gem.

he goes into crisis mode whenever one of the lads coughs more than once (fortunately Óin is very patient)

when Fíli and Kíli are small, they often climb into his bed at night, for example when they are cold or scared. It usually ends with Thorin waking up with at least one of Kíli's feet in his face or an elbow in his gut

he cuddles the two all the time and after little Gimli is born, he gets the same treatment

whenever all of them get together, Thorin usually ends up with three Dwarflings on his lap. (he found a way to stack them. Dís doesn't know what to think about that)

the only reason Fíli and Kíli don't call him adad is the fact, that Thorin would never claim that title out of respect for his late brother-in-law

when they are all of a sudden grown-ups, he sorely misses the time when they were small enough to sit on his knee or come running for a hug

he has a box hidden under his bed with his nephews' old things. He gets a little misty-eyed whenever he looks at their tiny baby boots. (one time he shows them to Dwalin, which ends with both of them sobbing. They don't speak of this afternoon)

he is in general a lot more affectionate and caring with them than on the quest, which is one of the reasons Fíli and Kíli are disturbed by his behaviour starting in mirkwood

Man I just love dressing crazy. Star-shaped eyeliner, jacket covered in bottle caps with smiley faces, bright pink glasses, piercings in my face. I thrive in the weird looks from strangers. I love being that person little kids think is a fairy and remember for years. I love giggling at myself while I make faces in the mirror.

To me, this is what it is to be punk. To make weird, messy art. To sing your crooked voice as loud as you can. To be the most beautiful ugly. To be that creature 8 year old you wrote stories about in their school notebooks. To be the greatest you you can be.

There is nobody on this Earth who can do you like you. So why not go out and be the best you the world's ever seen?

i don't want to discredit the work that writers do, especially in laying the groundwork for a character like homelander and crafting a compelling arc for him with every new season. and i'm sure they were very involved in the making of ep 4 as well, despite kripke generously giving credit where it's due here. however...

it is nice to know that antony starr has not only elevated the character with a superb performance but also made some pretty valuable contributions to the script :) obviously i'm biased but i think he is the standout of every episode. i'm throwing emmys at him
