Finally updated my headcanons for the main Ninja's appearances ♡ The ones from last year looked ew to me so this was overdue.

Lloyd: I know he doesn't have curly hair, but I was unhappy with the way I drew it before so I tried something different and really liked this so I stuck with it. Light freckles, scars too obviously. The little braid is a personal touch of mine representing a connection to my OC hehe

Nya: the markings from her Ocean form were so pretty I had to keep them faintly, and the blue streaks in her hair seemed fitting too. Also a small nose piercing because she would. I love giving her turquoise colors too. Round face features

Kai: his spiky hair is always a challenge so I tried finding a way that's easier for me to draw. I love giving him a mullet too. Slightly crooked nose, sharp features overall & moles. Lotsa ear piercings. Tattoos probably as well

Zane: the most fun to do, his robotic features give a lot of freedom to work with. Making his hair half dark half white was a random idea but I love it now. Straight and angular features

Cole: wider face and body shape, long scar from his forehead down to the eye. I gave my best drawing dreads for him and I think I did well. Orange-green eyes from his ghost phase. Oh and a slight stubble, I thought it fit him well. Originally wanted to give Kai one too, maybe next time

Jay: saw a cosplay of him with this lightning scar across his face and I loved it so much I took it over. Also heterochromia for him, it just feels right. Lots of freckles, super fluffy hair. One hair streak looks like a lightning bolt. Soft shapes and features

I think Jay canonically not dying even once in the entire show is really funny.

But also it gave me the idea for my fave headcanon for him ever a while ago so, Jay fandom this is for you;

Unless Jay gets any of his vital organs damaged [Ex. him getting large amound of sea water in his lungs in Seabound], he can't die.

If he gets thrown/crushed by something and his heart enters cardiac arrest without damage to any of his organs?

His lighting powers would just, automatically re-start his heart if it were to stop.

Not only that, but depending on the wound and the organ, his lightning can also turn off his nerves because of the sudden adrenaline rush, so he can't feel the said pain unless the adrenaline wears off.

If he were to get beaten to death, he can't die unless his entire body bleeds to multiple organ failures and he won't feel the pain of it until he loses the adrenaline rush he's in due to the said blood loss.

TLDR: Jay's lighting powers are his built in Defibrillator unless he fucks up his vital organs and bleeds to death/organ failure.

Does anyone else think about the ways the merge impacted the world beyond just a cultural/societal sense? Bc my geosci student ass is sitting here like ohhh so all their soil is fucked. Mixing of soils from diff realms is probs like introducing like a million more invasive species than anyone realizes (do you have any idea how alive soil is?) and fucking with the soil microbiome and agriculture is probably going to go to shit in one way or another. I’m sitting here like ohhh so all those dragons in the lava wastes might have kept developing wasting disease post-merge because volcanoes spew up different toxic shit depending (in part) on local geology and now that the volcanoes are in a new place they’re probably spewing new shit the dragons haven’t evolved to withstand. I’m sitting here like ohhh so with all the new chunks of land shoved haphazardly into Ninjago’s land by the merge has probably created new fault systems, subjecting places (which were previously seismically quiet) to earthquakes that their architecture and local psyche have never had to withstand before. Like ohhh okay their world is screwed whether or not the ninja stop mergequakes from happening. Like. Being a lego is not going to be very fun in the next few decades. Okay 👍 no WONDER Cole said the earth itself is screaming 👍

My take on the regional Sora’s trend! She’s an alien now >:3

I had no idea what to do for this initially, but then it hit me, I could just shove her into my OC story. If I have the motivation I might shove everyone else into it too! I roughed out some ideas for the main cast while working on this.

A (sort of) brief lore explanation and tag list under the cut o7 (also tumblr killed the quality so click for a better view etc etc)

A lot of this still a work in progress since I’ve been changing this species lore a lot recently, but! Starsino’s are a semi-aquatic vaguely amphibious + reptilian race, whose society at large bears a striking resemblance to Imperium (hence why I chose it for Sora). Their eyesight is not great, and as a whole the species used to have a sixth sense that would them navigate in difficult to see areas like underwater (similar to a platypus!). At some point the ✨Space Fae✨ (not an 100% accurate description but it’d take too long to explain their lore afshhdf) came down and gifted them the ability of True Sight. Which expanded their sixth sense to allow them access to telepathic/telekinetic abilities. Eventually the ✨Space Fae✨ got bored and left but also took the True Sight with them, which inadvertently cut off their species ability to access this sixth sense at all, which caused their entire society to collapse. Not everyone lost their “sight” but the majority of people did. Some people are still born with the sixth sense and even True Sight, they’re called Seers and True Seers respectively.

Nowadays there are two major factions of Starsino’s society, The Dictatorship, and The Cult. Both are trying to restore everyone’s access to the True Sight they’re just going about it a different way. There’s a lot more to it them this but it can basically be boiled down to a Science Vs. Magic thing.

Sora being born with True Sight (which is where her tech manipulation stuff comes in), is taken from her family as a baby and given to the Science People to experiment on. Eventually she escapes and makes it out of Starsino controlled space. Where she meets Arin! Who is just some human guy who managed to get off of Earth somehow, idk I haven’t really worked that all out.

Anyway! Gonna try to not let this be an all consuming project like my AU’s usually are, but it is oh so tempting
