I think it's funny how I contextualise my big coming out journey. Like it's always seen through the lens of what I was doing at the time, and not through that of the strength and emotion that led up to it. There wasn't one big moment, but many little ones that add up to a journey.

I still remember the moment I realised what I was. I saw a new PhilosophyTube video was up. Something to watch while I shaved my legs while nobody was home. The video has since taken on a more obvious title, but at the time it was something innocuous and unrevealing. And it was Abigail coming out as trans. And I sat and I cried in the bathroom of my mother's house because I couldn't believe it had taken so long for me to realise *why* I was shaving my legs while nobody was home.

I can recall where I was when I got myself referred to a gender clinic. I was stood by a river on a grey November afternoon in a city I had been to once a decade prior. And I very clinically explained that I was "experiencing symptoms of what I believe to be gender dysphoria" to a GP over the phone while I had a smoke for moral support. There were lots of reeds, and some powerlines strung overhead.

I remember when my best friend found out. I had been in a bad place and was in and out of hospital and he (somehow) remembered my Reddit handle and tracked me down to see when I was last active only to see me pretty openly identifying as female and trans. He messaged me to say he saw it, but he was just worried about me.

I remember when I had to tell my ex about it. We had both bought tickets for Shadow of Intent (my absolute favs) on their Melancholy tour cycle, but then the plague happened and they delayed for like three years, and by the time they came back around, they were on the tour cycle for a whole new album. She and I hadn't spoken since we had broken up in 2021 (unknown to her, I had been experiencing a dysphoria-fuelled identity crisis which destroyed our relationship) and she wanted to know if I was still going and I had to work out how to tell her that I was a whole different person now.

I remember being sat on the homeless hostel bedroom floor, newly homeless, and a good way into my transition, and tearfully hanging up on my mum after refusing to explain why I couldn't come home. I hadn't seen her in nearly a year, and didn't know how she would react to the visible changes to my body, and I knew I couldn't go back in the closet. So I called my older brother and cried while I told him. He was always going to be the first to know, as he had always been firmly on the side of trans rights. He offered to pick me up the next day and take me home to tell mum, just in case she banished me or something. I remember the first time he saw me as I am now, and didn't say anything. It was just another day.

I remember telling my mum in the kitchen the next evening, after hurriedly wiping off all my make up and scraping off my nail polish in my brother's car as I thought it would be a bit much for her to handle. We even stopped so I could put on a pair of guy pants I had kept for such an occasion. When I told her, I remember dancing around it as I did, impressing upon her the medical necessity of a certain process I had started. And when I told her, she shrugged and said "Good. What do you want for dinner?"

I remember telling my younger brother when he got home from his holiday. We had wandered to the woods nearby for a smoke on a lovely summer's day and when I told him I remember being very blunt about it. His response was mostly, "Huh. Neat. That's got to open up a whole bunch of questions for you. Like how does that affect your sexuality? You gonna get the op?" He didn't make a big deal about it, he just defaulted to his inner biologist brain. He was genuinely curious, rather than being weird about it.

It just seems like in retrospect, the ordeal of telling everyone seems secondary to the actual things I was doing when it happened. It's so strange how it all just recedes to a series of rather unremarkable still images in my mind. I've got a ways to go yet, but I'm getting there.

Buck fic, but those two co-parent hardddd so enjoy this clip of a victim talking to Eddie in the back of an ambulance about his new nail art.

“Nice nails.” Ms. Martin says, eyes directly on Eddie’s still-painted fingernails. He had been so busy getting his own house in order yesterday, that he didn’t even think about how his nails must look. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d walked around with painted nails before. Although, when his sisters had done them for him back in the day, Adriana and Sophia had held back on the sparkle nail polish. “Thanks.” Eddie says, rolling his eyes as Chimney snorts next to him. “Let me guess, you have a little girl at home, right?” “Yeah, she’s eleven.” Eddie offers simply. “She had a sleepover this weekend and she and her friends went a little overboard.” He explains, wiggling his fingers a little closer to give her a better view. “Do you have a photo?” “Yeah, of course.” He doesn’t think twice as he slides his phone out of his pocket and clicks the side button, lighting up the lock screen. It’s a photo he’d taken of Chris and Hailey from when he and Buck took them to the aquarium last week. In the perfectly timed photo - courtesy of one Evan Buckley - they were posing in front of the whale tank when a beluga whale came and joined them for the photo. Buck had also snapped a few more after the pointed out the whale, and the kids excitedly turned to say hello. “Hailey is my nail artist, and then the other one is my son, Christopher.” “Oh, they’re adorable.” She smiles sweetly, bringing her hand up to rest over her heart. “I remember when my kids were that age. They really grow up so fast.” “Yeah they do.” Eddie agrees.

“Since we’re spilling our guts apparently, got anything you want to share?” Chimney asks, finishing his sentence with a wince. His hands are clenched into tight fists, which Buck is sure is meant as an outlet to redirect his pain from the severe pressure building in his leg right now. “With you?” Buck scoffs. “You’re the worst secret keeper on the planet.” “First off, I might die here of shock in a few minutes once you slice me open, and if that’s the case then you won’t have to worry about me telling anyone your secret.” “Chim-” “And second,” Chimney adds, cutting off Buck’s protest, “if the secret you’re going to tell me involves how you feel about a certain FBI agent, then that’s pretty well known to everybody, so it’s not really a secret you need to worry about me keeping.”

Green Arrow AU 🏹 - Oh, the beloved Green Arrow AU! Here's a piece of Buck and Eddie meeting again for the first time since he came back from Lian Yu (yes, I know that differs from the original plot, but I am taking some creative liberties with their backstory)!

He looks different from the last time that Eddie had seen him. He’s gotten taller, at least four inches, standing at nearly 6’2” now. For someone who had been stranded on a desert island for seven years, Eddie would think he should have withered away, yet, Buck is bulkier than he remembers, broader, four times the muscles that he remembers Buck having. He stands taller, his back straighter, but his head ducks lower than he used to, as if he’s purposefully trying to hide. Eddie had seen Buck on the news telling the world that he was alone on that island after everyone on the Buckley’s Gambit had drowned. Yet, if he was alone on that island, why does he carry himself like a solider who just came back from combat, one who is constantly on his toes, ready for any attack? “Buck! Hold on, there’s someone that I want to introduce you to.” Bobby calls, causing Buck to stop in his tracks. He pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath before turning to face Bobby, who is quickly approaching him. He forces a smile, before shifting his gaze away from Bobby to Eddie for the first time. It’s subtle, but Eddie swears he sees Buck’s eyes widen and his smile soften for half a second in recognition. “This is Eddie Diaz. He’ll be accompanying you from now on.” “Bobby, I don’t need a babysitter.” He insists, refocusing on the older man. “I understand, but this is… this is something that Maddie needs…” Bobby tells him, reaching up to gently squeeze Buck’s bicep. “It’s something I need, too. Okay?”

my Beheaded Bride ( who allegedly in-lore is named Annabelle ) was my first customized Animatronic and I was honestly really scared to touch her cause 2008 is only getting older and older and I worried about modifying something that is technically considered vintage and rare, but in the long run I'm not selling her any time soon, and since the Beheaded Bride is one of my all time fav spirit animatronics I don't think I'm letting go of her or caring about resell possibilities. So i used mostly just acrylic paint, nail polish, and actual eyeshadow, false lashes, a new wig and fake nails to make her more dimensional and realistic, and I think it makes her so more special than if I had kept her how I found her. in the long run the thing is still vintage, and a special rarity, it just looks so much more loved and unique at the same time.

Writing my fic made me really appreciate the way the dev wrote so many of multiple characters scenes If it's just one character, or at least 3 of my favs with mc, I am doing just fine and the scene flows But get all the brothers together and my brain melts going "Nope not handling this" I cannot not write the scenes too so... ctrl+A and delete the whole word pad? No that will just make me cry

It's really hard to write a scene with that many characters in it. Usually what I do is focus on two or three of the characters that matter.

For instance, if I'm writing a scene where all the brothers, MC, Diavolo, and Barbatos are all together in the student council room, I'll narrow in on the characters that are the focus of the story. For me that's usually MC and one of the others. I'll say what each of the other characters are doing, but then I'll zoom in on MC.

Assuming MC is the viewpoint character, it'd go kinda like this-

You were sitting at the table in the student council room. Lucifer and Diavolo were looking over the upcoming plans for the school festival together. To your left, Belphie was distracting Beel from eating the paperwork in front of him with a bag of spicy newt chips. Across from you, Asmo was painting Satan's nails. Levi was hunched over his handheld device while Mammon was muttering about horse race results while scrolling through his D.D.D.

You looked over to your right, where Barbatos had just finished making tea. He poured a cup and handed it to you. You took it gratefully and sipped it.

You gave Barbatos a look. "Is this...?"

"Indeed," he said, smiling. "White tea with jasmine. I know your favorite, MC."

-and then from that point you can just focus on MC and Barbatos. Everybody else is doing something, but they're not part of the immediate action unless you need them to be. Like if you needed Beel to actually start eating paperwork so Barbatos and MC would get involved in trying to stop him, you can do that. But if you don't need that, he can just continue to be distracted by Belphie in the background.

It's not really possible to focus in on every character when there are that many of them. So I find it's better to have the majority of the characters act more like part of the setting while focusing the action on the characters that matter to the scene.

It isn't really the same as the way the devs write, though. That's because the devs are writing in a different format. For us, we can describe what the characters are doing, as above. That allows us to illustrate that those characters are present without having to involve them in the story directly.

The devs, on the other hand, don't have the luxury of description. For them, it's all dialogue all the time. Which means that if they want us to know that all those characters are in the same place, they have to have each character say something. And if they want us to know what each character is doing, they have to have each character either say what they're doing (e.g. having Asmo say, "Oh Satan this new color of polish I found looks amazing on you!") or having one of the other characters say what they're doing (e.g. having Mammon say, "Can't believe you're lettin' Asmo paint your nails that color, Satan.")

This is why I often talk about how I think this format is limiting to how good things like event stories can be. It isn't that it's impossible, but I do think it can contribute to the lack of quality.

ANYWAY.

Sorry to take your ask and run with it, wow. I'm always surprised at how much I have to say about these things lol. You'd think I'd be used to it by now...

how to pass time while fasting !

i’ve found that the not eating part of fasting actually isn’t that hard, but passing the time is. and as appealing as sleeping all day every day sounds, it’s probably not the best idea, so here’s some ideas i’ve collected!

— go on a walk for at least 30 min

— do an activity that gets your hands messy for a few hours. personally i like to draw, and my hands are always covered in pencil afterwards.

— paint your nails! see if you can find a nail polish that takes a while to dry, or do a bunchhh of coats. can be a little annoying but passes time for sure!

— watch a good, long movie (maybe an ed movie, but not necessary) or show / my current favs are titanic, to the bone, the outsiders, and the hp series if i wanna do a marathon lol

— listen to an album / playlist that’s at least an hour long. either listen to one you know, (and if you’re up for it, dance around a bit n burn some calories!) or look for some new music to enjoy <3

— read a book for at least 1 hour! healthy + passes lots of time if it’s a good one

— watch some youtube! can watch anything �� just plain old (long) entertainment or something to motivate you (mukbangs, gross food, etc)

— make a playlist! could be motivation or just for fun. personally, i like making playlists based on my favourite book characters, or songs that make me want to move around / motivate me for some reason.

— make a pinterest board! this time i really recommend making something for motivational purposes. get some pics / quotes that really make you wanna reach your goals!! another option is making a physical vision board, but digital is easier + more private.

— go on tumblr !! currently i’m passing the time by writing out this list, and you’re reading for the exact same reason so- you can make some posts of your own or find some motivation! talking to people takes up tons of time too, try making some friends!

— clean/organize!

— and finally, of course, you can still take a nap. this is probably the most effective way to distract yourself, and if you really need it, go ahead!

to conclude, try to find an activity that either takes up your time, or motivates you to continue fasting! lmk if you have any other ideas, i’m desperateee

Coming back to tumblr after forever so I thought screw it, I’ll make a new blog (and like eventually RT over a load of stuff from my old main and tag that as well)

Anyway my introduction to Percy Weasleyblr is this snippet from my Trans Percy WIP

His first day back home, Percy had spent an unusual amount of time sat in front of the small mirror besides his desk, staring into it examining himself. He’s started to let his hair grow longer at the end of the school year, watching as his thick red curls begin to tickle his cheekbones, a small feeling of warmth beginning to bloom in his chest as it slowly grown inch by inch. Knowing what his Mother would say, he’d caved and cut it back to his usual length at the end of the year out of cowardice. The same could be said for the chipped remains of red nail polish, nearly entirely gone except for small patches at the base of his nail bed. Penelope had painted them for him, quiet whispers in an abandoned classroom agreeing that he could make feigned arguments of house pride if questioned. Penelope always helped to solve things like this. She was the only person in Percy’s life who truly saw him for who he was, even when that scared him.

There’d been many conversations like that, conspiratorial whispers engaged out of fear, his fear, that some suspecting person was sat on the other side of the door, waiting to burst through with a cry of “Aha!” Should Percy say too much, say the things that he refused to admit even to himself. Penelope had whispered back to him without any of the judgement he reserved for himself.

Trans Percy is unapologetically one of my fav headcanons but there’s so little content (and even less that’s quality) thanks to the chronic under appreciation of my fav so be the change etc etc

-I didn’t know that America Hope’s Peak was basically college so I feel like all the college au writers in the fandom are vindicated rn XD

-Xander being sneaky w/ his tounge piercing to bend the “no piercing” rule at his school. Xander would be that kid who bends the school rules esp the dress codes

-Someone asked drdt dev what David’s new default sprite was and dev does answer and shows the sprite of him w/ one of his hands gesturing out and I cackled XD like of course that would be his default sprite

-The confirmation that Richard Spurling and Duke Spurling are brothers

-Someone did a post theorizing that Duke was probably alive during the Tragedy era and was influenced by Despair which. has me screaming fr

Pls tell me Abt ur umbreon design...

umbreon is my fav of the bunch !! obviously shes inspired by scenemo fashion! ive grown up with the typical gijinkas of umbreon being cool guys in long sleeve jackets and knight armor, and girls with dressing gowns, so i really wanted to play as far away from that for my interpretation.

umbreon is a diy queen, she painted her own shoes yellow (now flaking off from ware and tear, and slightly messy in its application), sharpie as her nail polish, and bleached her hair into rings. umbreon is also the only one of the girls to nod towards the shiny form of umbreon, in her tutu and fox tail being the blue. i thought this would be her own expression, finding the unique individuality of a shiny form to be something to strive towards.

i imagined her being at an anime convention from my childhood and trying to decide between purchasing a yellow tail and a blue tail. go with the standard umbreon colors, the one that would complete her homemade cosplay, or become enticed by the novelty of a step up to her costume and slowly work her way towards a shiny umbreon cosplay. so now shes trying to accumulate items towards that new goal.

other fun things to note, she has red contacts in, and a belly button RING to match all of the other loops, stripes, and rings in her design. i gave her moles because i have moles and i love to slip those in. hehe
