i’ll be brave since you asked ; what about bodyguard megumi teaching the reader some simple self-defense moves ( he’s worried ⋋_⋌ ) especially bc they don’t have any cursed energy. your work is so cute!! 🥺 feel free to scrap. mauh, kisses! 💗💗
Bodyguard! Megumi: teaching you self defence
A/N: Thank you for the ask my love! Idk why I struggled with this one so much lmaooo😭 But I hope you guys enjoy it! <3
“You need to kick higher y/n”
You glared at your bodyguard whose tall figure was leaning against the wall ever so coolly with his arms crossed, as he instructed you on self defence, his dark eyes watching you like a hawk.
Maybe if you wasn’t so annoyed right now, you would’ve appreciated the raven haired man’s beauty more.
“I’m trying!” You retaliated before huffing “why do I have to learn self defence anyways? Isn’t it your job to defend me?” You say, causing Megumi to simply glare at you with an unamused look.
“Because you need to be able to defend yourself y/n. It’s worrying” he answered, and for a brief moment, you caught his concerned look as he furrowed his eyebrows.
“Okay jeez, no need to be so negative” you mumbled, you hear a sigh and some footsteps from behind you, “Im not being negative y/n, now come here” he calls you over.
And you walk over towards him defeatedly, you mimicked his crossed arms and an angry pout so he knew you weren’t happy.
Once you stood in front of him, his pale hand pinched your cheek. “Ow! Meg-“
“Now stop being such a gremlin and concentrate” he ordered sternly, which highly contradicted the way he was squishing your flushed cheeks.
“Okay okayyy” you whined, trying to escape his iron grip. He was enjoying this too much for someone who had a blank look on his face. Once he finally let go, he ordered you to try to the kick again.
“Hi-yah!”
Megumi bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from laughing at the silly exaggerated sounds you made. Why must you be so stupid and cute?
“Not like that y/n. Like this” he said, as he demonstrated a kick to your chest, his shirt riding up as he did, the kick sent you falling backwards, but Megumi was quick to catch you.
You stared up bewildered at the strong bodyguard who quickly encased you in his arms, his dark eyes staring down at you blankly. “Your turn”
You attempted to master the kick a few more times, until Megumi told you to try the kick on him.
And when you did, it worked like a charm. You foot quickly connected with Megumi’s face, only making him stumble a bit unlike when you were kicked.
You stared at Megumi in shock as you got back up, Megumi smiled amusedly as he wiped the blood that leaked from his nose. It was a rare moment to see the usually stern and grumpy bodyguard look so proud of you, you could feel your heart soar at the feeling.
“Good girl”
He brushed himself before announcing “now let’s move onto the heel palm strike”
“Uh uh I’m tired” you said tiredly, dropping to the floor with a huff.
He crouched next to you on the floor, staring down at your lying figure shamelessly, you’ve gotten used to it now, you just let him.
“You can’t just stop now” Megumi says, but you whine and shake your head refusing to move, making the bodyguard shake his head at you with a dry laugh.
“Megumi?” You call out after a moments of silence.
“Hm?”
“Are you making me do all this because I’m a non curse user?”
There’s a moments silence in the air, before you feel a hand place itself on your head.
“I’m doing it because I want you to be able to prove to your clan you’re way stronger than they will ever be”
His words stop your train of thought. You’re taken aback by the words that he said, words that no ones ever told you before. Maybe your mom once did, because it was probably out of pity. But Megumi’s words seemed true.
You don’t let your tears fall, instead you smile. You realise how lucky you are to have Megumi, whether his words were true or not.
“Who cares? I got you right?” You suddenly blurt out as you sit up, you flashed a big grin to the raven haired sorcerer, leaning against him happily, making his heart skip a beat.
“Thanks Megumi” you said, giving him a quick hug in appreciation, which he returned by awkwardly patting your head, before you left the training room.
Megumi sat there for a moment as he watched you leave. “Lil gremlin” he mutters under his breath with an adoring smile and softened dark blue eyes that you will never witness.
All the bodyguard could wish for was that you knew his words were true.

My Everything | S.B
Paring: Sirius Black X Wife!Reader
Summary: When five marauders goes to two within the instance of a day. Two children are left without fathers and a wife is left without a husband.
Request: Sirius Black x Wife!reader reuniting and she's Remus sister
A/N: My first Harry Potter request. I got so excited to see this in my inbox and I hope it isn’t the last :)
Perhaps it was the feeling of betrayal she felt when he was finally gone. The fact that everything he’d ever said was a lie. She couldn’t help but think maybe his vows were a lie too. The five Marauders were now two. Only two left. How did this even happen?
The unbreakable group of five. James Potter, the so-called leader of them all. The mom friend who always made sure everyone was okay and cared for. Sirius Black, the second in command. The mischievous, charismatic troublemaker who was always in detention. Peter Pettigrew, the outcast of them all. The shy and naive boy who gave them all a sense of logic. Remus Lupin, the intelligent and solace of them all. The only boy smart enough not to get caught. Y/n Lupin, the creative and sneaky one. The only one who could sneak and out of the Potions cabinet without Slughorn noticing.
Now it was just the Lupin twins who, as Sirius called them, the “Linking Lupins.” It was hard in the beginning. First-year was difficult. All they had was each other. Lyall hadn’t really been accepting in the first place, but Hope was always blissfully unaware of her son's problem. All she knew was that he had to go away once a month. Lyall cursed himself out every night that Remus went away, cursing himself for letting this happen to his son.
The cries of his baby girl begging for her brother. The wails of Y/n pleading for Remus not to go away. Not wanting to let go of him, hearing Remus from inside the room in the basement begging to be let out. Sobbing, crying for his mum or his dad to let him out, praying that the wolf doesn’t take over. Whimpering at how much it hurts the way his bones dislocate and relocate back together in a new way.
So yeah, first year was challenging. But Dumbledore had a safe place for him to go every evening of the full moon, and Y/n would be there when he woke up every time. Remus relished in the way her hands felt in his. They were so soft compared to his calloused ones. So gentle compared to his often rough movements. Small compared to big. She was everything he wasn’t, and he was happy about that.
James Potter was the first to talk to them with his flamboyant nature. His eyes were the lightest of browns with spotted glittering green. His smile was perfect and straight. How could someone’s smile be that way at the ripe age of eleven? Despite his aura screaming, “I’m the popular kid, and you’re the loser,” he was actually quite nice.
Upon looking at James, the Lupin twins both thought of trouble. They remembered the popular kids from their muggle school before this one, how they used to belittle Remus for his scars and how Y/n used to push them away. So, forgive them for being a little cautious around him. It didn’t help that James’ counterpart was the opposite of them both.
Sirius Black, lanky and confident. This boy had no boundaries and absolutely no limits. If he wanted it, he was going to get it. His eyes were the purest iron, and his smile was white like quartz. Hair black as coal and personality as gregarious as the color wheel. His style was toned back, but his character could’ve put the color wheel to shame with how bright he was. Sirius Black could’ve been the antonym to Remus and Y/n Lupin.
During second year they found another boy who was being beaten by Slytherins for his scarlet and golden robes. He was stocky, and it seems that he was pretty timid. His blond hair was disheveled, and his blue eyes full of fright. Y/n had stepped in front of him just like she had Remus from the bullies back in muggle school. Her wand was held tight in her grip as she stared at them.
“What are you gonna do, Loony Lupin?” One of them snarled.
“Aguamenti.”
The Slytherins were now covered in water. Damp like they had all taken a shower with their clothes on. Their black robes turned a shade darker. The evergreen accents turned olive, and the silver turned into grey. The main Slytherin boy gritted his teeth, and his icy eyes stared into Y/n’s e/c ones.
“You’ll pay for that.”
Y/n pocketed her wand in her robes, smiling sweetly, “I’m sure I will. Now, run along before I do something worse.”
They didn’t want to obey, but they also didn’t want to stay in that situation. The Slytherins scurried off like dogs following their owner's command. Y/n fixed her hair with her hand and turned around. She was offering her soft hand to the boy who was frozen, shocked, staring at her. Hesitantly he gripped her hand, allowing her to pull him up. She was only slightly shorter than him.
“Y/n Lupin.” She introduced, “You are?”
“Pe- Peter Pettigrew.”
Y/n bowed playfully, “Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Peter.”
“Pleasure.” Peter muttered shyly as her group of friends approached.
Remus swung an arm around her shoulders, “You’re bloody brilliant, you know?”
“Our star.” Sirius swooned jokingly as Y/n punched his shoulder, causing him to pout, “Who’s this?” James queried, looking at Peter, who cowered under the hazel-eyed gaze.
“Boys,” Y/n smiled brightly, “This is our new member of the Marauders. Peter Pettigrew.”
Peter fiddled with his hands anxiously, “New- New member?”
“Mhm!” Y/n hummed, “You’re our new addition.”
James smiled, “Any friend of Y/n’s is a friend of ours. Welcome, Peter.”
From then it went from four to five. Peter never really stopped thanking them for letting him in. For the first time, Peter felt at home, and it was thanks to Y/n. He realized how kind she was, how creative she was. It was so strange. The group was so different, like extraordinarily diverse, yet they worked together so well. Y/n and Remus seemed to be the brains of things. James and Sirius seemed to be the trouble makers. Peter just did his own thing but always contributed.
In fifth year Remus started to worry. Everyone was so secretive. They stopped hanging around as much, even his sister. It hurt. It really hurt to see them seeking around on the map that he and Y/n created together for the most part. It wasn’t until during the winter break did Y/n finally realize what they were doing affected them.
Remus barely cried. Or at least that’s what people made it out to seem. Remus actually cried a decent amount. He was snuggled up in his room. His blanket encasing him, and his arms held around his pillow tightly, gripping it as if it’d leave him like he felt everyone else was. His heart felt broken. Y/n was outside his door, hearing his soft cries, and gently knocked on the door.
“Rem. Can I come in, please?”
He didn’t say anything, so she just let herself in. The door closed behind her with a click, and she saw her tall brother curled up into the tightest ball with silver streams on his cheeks. Y/n sat in front of him and rubbed the side of his arm. Remus’ eyes continue to release water like a dam that had been broken. He couldn’t swallow it no matter how hard he tried.
“What’s wrong, Rem?”
Remus didn’t say anything. He just dug his head deeper into the pillow he was holding. Y/n’s hand made its way to his sandy-colored hair. She was scratching at the scalp and smoothing his hair away from his face keeping the strands from getting wet. Her hand hesitantly reached his cheek and wiped away the tears that kept falling.
She sighed, “Remus, please.”
“You’re- you’re gon’ leave me, aren’ you.” Remus choked.
“Leave you?” Y/n questioned softly, afraid if she raised her voice any more, it’d make things worse, “I wouldn’t leave you if I was given a chance, Remmy.”
He sniffled, “You- you haven’ been a- around.”
“I know.” Y/n soothed, caressing his cheek, “But there’s an explanation for it. James, Sirius, Peter, and I have been distant. We know that. But there’s a reason for it. You’ll find out soon.”
Remus’ eyes met his sister's warm e/c ones, “Please don’t leave me.”
“Never.”
He smiled gently. The corners of his lips barely curled, but she knew it was there. Remus had fallen asleep with his sister's hand in his hair. When she was sure he was sleeping, Y/n left the bedroom, allowing him to sleep peacefully. Then she wrote a letter to James where she knew Sirius was staying too.
One more week, Y/n thought. One more week of this Mandrake leaf in their mouths until they could be done with this.
It took another month before it was ready. Before they were ready. They were in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom when they started. James started first. When he turned into a stag, they all began laughing. James turned back, pouting. Sirius turned second into a huge black dog. Y/n smiled and petted his head.
“Very fitting, Sirius.”
Sirius turned back, letting Peter turn next. He was so tiny that Sirius almost stepped on him. James and Y/n sniggered at their rat friend. Next was Y/n, who turned into a graceful cat. Her fur was black, and her eyes were a striking e/c. James smirked and nudged Sirius.
“Matching animagus’, eh?”
Sirius scowled, “Cats and dogs don’t match.”
Y/n turned back, “Don’t they?”
“Ready for this full moon?” James asked them all.
“‘Course!”
“Yep!”
“Can’t wait.”
That full moon was better than them all. Remus had people to join him. There was something that he noticed, though. Every time he’d get close to the cat, the dog would growl and stand in front of her. It was like the dog was protecting what was his. Y/n noticed it too. Every time Remus got close, Sirius stood in front of her, keeping him at a safe distance.
It wasn’t until a quiet night in the Marauders dorm did Remus finally bring it up, “Sirius.”
“Remus.”
“How long?”
Sirius furrowed his eyebrows, “How long what?”
“You know,” Remus moved his hand in a circular motion for him to continue, “How long have you liked my sister?”
“Woah, Remus.” Sirius stated in shock, “That’s quite the accusation.”
Remus tilted his head, “Is it?”
“Yeah. It is.” Sirius replied, “Y/n is my friend. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“So, you not sleeping with any girls for the past year is just a coincidence?” Remus questioned knowingly, “You staring at her during class and parties is just on accident?”
Sirius’ cheeks went pink, “And it’s definitely a coincidence that you always hug her first after every Quidditch match.”
“Okay, fine, fine.” Sirius confessed, “I like Y/n. I have for a while.”
“So why haven’t you asked her out?”
“Excuse me?”
Remus shrugged, “Why haven’t you asked her out yet? You know she enjoys going to Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks.”
“Mate, have you forgotten we’re talking about your sister?” Sirius asked, “Like your twin sister?”
“I know.” Remus replied, “She likes you too, you know.”
Sirius’ eyes were practically bulging out of his skull. How in the name of Merlin was Remus so calm about this? He said it so casually as if they were talking about the weather. Sirius expected Remus to get angry or throw a book at him.
“Are you- Are you giving me permission to date your sister?”
“As long as you don’t hurt her, sure.”
Sirius hesitated before asking his next question, “Can you help me do it?”
Remus smirked, “Casanova of Hogwarts can’t ask out Y/n?”
“Please, Remus.” Sirius begged, “I really like her, and I don’t want to fuck this up.”
Remus snorted, “You always fuck things up.”
“That’s why I need you!”
Remus just smirked triumphantly.
“Pleaaaseeeeeee.”
“Alright, fine.” Remus relented, “Just be cool about it, yeah? Take her to Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks. She’d enjoy that a lot. Maybe take her to Tomes and Scrolls.”
“You’re a lifesaver!”
“Yeah, yeah.” Remus rolled his eyes, “Now shut up. ‘M tired.”
The following day Sirius and Y/n did go to Hogsmeade together. She was amazed when they went into Honeydukes together. She picked out some of her favorite sweets and some for Remus since the full moon was a week away. When she went to pay for it, Sirius pushed her hand away, paying for it himself. Y/n wouldn’t stop thanking him.
Next, they went to Tomes and Scrolls. On any ordinary occasion, Sirius would’ve hated this. Truth be told, he wasn’t really a reader or a book person in general. But for her, he’d do absolutely anything. Y/n picked out some new books and began raving to Sirius about one in particular. So again, Sirius paid for them and told her to find a table in the Three Broomsticks.
Sirius went to the area where the book she was raving about was found. He grabbed one for himself, planning to read and annotate it for her. Maybe he’d give it to her as a birthday gift or just a random gift. Nonetheless, he knew she’d love it, and Sirius would fall off a cliff if she asked him to.
Inside he found her sitting with a hot chocolate and a butterbeer for himself. Sirius slid into the booth smiling at her. They talked about everything and anything. Sirius even went as far as to tell her some stuff about his family the other guys didn’t know about. He went on about how he envied Remus and her relationship wanting the same thing with Regulus.
Sirius told her how he wanted his future to look. How many tattoos he wanted. Where he wanted to live. How many children he wanted. So on and so forth. He was so open and so honest it surprised her. Generally, if someone asked Sirius what he wanted his future to look at, he’d just shrug. Now he was spilling everything to her.
It didn’t take long after that for them to become official. Remus smiled when she announced it. He was happy for her. Remus could see how happy Sirius made her, and for that, he was grateful that someone could take care of her in his absence. Y/n only wanted that for him too. One day she’d have a family, and Remus wouldn’t be her main priority. That scared her because, for all seventeen years of her life, it was just her and Remus.
After graduating from Hogwarts, they got married. It wasn’t anything huge, especially with Voldemort on the rise, but it happened. James was Sirius’ best man, and Marlene was Y/n’s maid of honor. Remus walked Y/n down the aisle and gently kissed her cheek before letting her go. Seeing Sirius and Y/n get married made James overjoyed to marry Lily, but that would happen all in due time.
So what was it that made her feel this way? Was it the betrayal? Was it the dishonesty? Was it the disloyalty? What was it in truth? The moment Sirius was locked away in Azkaban, everything changed. When Remus heard about it, she was his first stop. Inside he saw her with a baby on her lap. Their baby boy, just a year old. He was born only months before Harry.
Little Perseus Sirius Black. Y/n’s pride and joy. He was everything to her. Remus had walked into the house seeing his broken sister holding her child close to her as he cried. Remus walked in and gently took the child from her arms, allowing her to lean on his shoulder as he held Perseus. The little boy smiled at the familiar face of his uncle.
“Rem!”
Remus smiled softly, “Hey, Perseus.”
It took a long time for Y/n to collect herself. Remus had taken a spot in the house since he couldn’t find a place by himself. Y/n worked at the ministry most days, and Remus would take care of her little troublemaker. As Perseus grew, he looked more and more like his mother. The same e/c eyes and h/c hair. The only thing that made him look like a Black was his defined body and facial structure.
The sharp jawline, the defined nose, the straight cheekbones, the semi-hollow cheeks, and the pointed chin. His features were that of the Noble House of Black, yet he could’ve made his way to look like a Lupin even more. For a while, Y/n worked a lot. She was trying to keep her family afloat. But it wasn’t until Remus said he got a job offer at Hogwarts did she have to stop. Working for her felt like nothing. Every day she was worried about Perseus going to school. Especially with Sirius being out of Azkaban.
The night that Remus saw Peter Pettigrew on the map, he knew something was wrong and sent Y/n and owl for her to come to Hogwarts. Without hesitation, she did. On the night of that full moon, she was also down in the Shrieking Shack, holding Harry close to her, not wanting him to get hurt. When everything got resolved, she cried.
Y/n went home that night rethinking everything. A week later, Remus and Perseus returned home. She couldn’t remember holding Percy that tight ever. Y/n was just thankful that he was safe and he was home. That night that Y/n and Remus told Percy what really happened, why his father was never really in the picture.
A year later is when Perseus finally met his father - well, that he can remember. He was fifteen now, going into his fifth year at Hogwarts when Y/n and Remus took him to Grimmauld Place 12. It felt foreign, and it felt evil. Needless to say, Percy didn’t like the place. Inside, Sirius was waiting for them along with many others.
When the door opened and shut gently, he knew it was her. For the first time in over twelve years, he’d be allowed with his wife again. The woman he loved and the woman he felt the most solace with. He’d also see the boy that he used to know grown up into a young adult. The young gentleman Sirius always wanted.
Perseus stood in front of her, Y/n’s hands on his shoulders. Sirius almost chuckled at it. Percy was protecting her even if she didn’t know it herself. He stood in front of her for a reason, to make sure she’d be safe. Sirius stood in front of them, swallowing harshly.
“Remus, Y/n.” He choked on the last name.
“Good evening Sirius.” Remus greeted politely, “How have you been?”
Sirius shuffled, “I’ve been better.”
Remus hugged him, whispering in his ear, “Don’t fuck this up.”
“Hey, Siri.” Y/n smiled with tears in her eyes, “Hey, love.”
Gently she walked in front of Percy and hugged him tightly. Sirius’ arms went around her waist, and his nose dug into her hair. The scent of her perfume and shampoo calming his nerves slightly. Y/n dug her head into his neck and placed her arms around him. They pulled away and smiled. Gently he kissed her forehead.
“I’m sorry for believing that you would ever,” She looked down, “You know.”
Sirius picked her chin back up gently, “You have nothing to be sorry for, love.”
Y/n kissed his lips softly. His lips were far from how she remembered. They were no longer soft and tasted of smoke. Instead, they were chapped and tasted of firewhiskey. Perhaps some things never change. Their lips melded together perfectly, just as they did so many years ago. They pulled apart, smiling brightly. She pulled from his embrace to stand by his side.
“Sirius, this is-“
“Perseus, I know.”
Perseus smiled nervously; they had the same smile, the same straight smile, “Hi.”
“Hi.”
It was silent for a while as Perseus shuffled, “Are you- are you staying this time?”
“I’d like to.” Sirius replied, “I’m not quite sure the extent of my living abilities, but I’ll be here.”
“I’m- I'm in Slytherin.”
“Okay.”
Perseus looked incredulously, “Okay? That’s all you have to say?”
“There’s nothing wrong with being in Slytherin.” Sirius stated, “Your heart is in the right place.”
“How would you know?” Percy snapped, “You’ve been gone for most of my life. You don’t know anything about me.”
Sirius quirked an eyebrow, “So you standing in front of your Mather was just a happy accident? You weren’t planning on protecting her. Shall something go wrong?”
Percy looked at the ground, “Someone had to make sure she was safe while you were gone.”
“That’s not fair.”
“Life isn’t fair!” Percy yelled, “You left us. You don’t realize how badly you hurt her while you were gone.”
Remus walked back into the corridor to see Y/n frozen staring at her son. Sirius was standing in an argumentative stance. Percy’s eyes were filling with tears of frustration as he stared at the man who abandoned him from the start.
“You left me. You left mum. You left Remus.” Percy cried, “How did you expect this to go, huh?”
Sirius didn’t say anything, “Did you expect me to be happy?! Did you expect me to hug you and fall into your arms?!” Percy shouted, “Because I’m not. I’m not happy, and I’m not going to fall into your arms and hug you like a naive little boy. My mum deserves better than this bullshit.”
“Enough!” Remus snapped, and Percy froze, “Your father is risking his life to be here right now. To meet you. I get it. I wouldn’t be happy either if my father did what Sirius did. But with things, the way they are right now is holding a grudge really that important?”
“N- No, sir.”
“Percy.” Y/n called, and he stared at her with watery eyes as she approached him, “I get it. You’re angry, you’re upset, but he’s still your father. He wants to be here now.”
“B- But he-“
“I know, my love. He’s going to try and make up for it. You don’t have to trust him right away. You don’t have to say ‘I love you’ right away. He isn’t expecting that.” Y/n wiped the tears from his cheeks, “All he’s expecting is his son. The little boy that he last saw.”
Percy looked down, “I know you aren’t that little boy, and I wish you still were. The little boy that used to make me smile and laugh. The little boy that used to cause mischief around the house driving Remus mad.”
Sirius smiled, “You’re older now, and that will take some getting used to. I know you don’t remember, but Sirius used to be the only one who could get you to stop crying. He used to hold you all night, sleep with you in the rocking chair.”
“Sirius used to babble nonsense to you while I was at work. He used to take you to the park. Make you laugh by turning into a dog.” Percy sniffled, “Back then, Sirius was your everything, baby.”
Percy hugged his mom tight, “I- I’m scared.”
It was only loud enough for her to hear, “Why, baby?”
“What if- what if he leaves again?”
“He’s not going to.” Y/n moved the hair from his face, “Sirius wouldn’t leave us unless he had to.”
Percy knew what that meant. Sirius wouldn’t leave unless he got killed or died. Percy looked at Sirius’ eyes which were filled with tears from recalling the moments of his past. Y/n smiled reassuringly before Percy allowed himself to hug his father. He was wrapping his arms around his stomach, nuzzling his nose into his chest.
When they pulled apart, Sirius smiled, “You’re my everything, kiddo.”

They are Always with Us - (Christen Press X reader)
Everyone was anxious this camp. Of course they were. The World Cup was only a few months away and roster selection was only around the corner. Which meant that every camp mattered. You needed to come and prove that you deserved a spot on that roster.
But that wasn't the only reason everyone was anxious
"Is she here yet?" Ali asks in a quiet whisper to the table which consisted of me, Ash, Pinoe, Becky, Alyssa and Alex.
Pinoe shakes her head slightly. "No. She and Tobin are arriving soon. Tobin flew out to her so she could keep her company and so they could come together".
Alex let's out a low sigh as she runs her hand through her hair. "Gosh. I wasn't sure if she would come or not. I don't know if I would be able to do it if I was in her shoes".
Ash stabs at her food as she shrugs, "I mean the World Cup is just around the corner. Every camp matters at this point".
"I know but we would all understand if she wouldn't come to this one. I mean she just lost her mom..." Alex says before trailing off at the moment end.
It was the sad reality of the situation. It's only been a month since Christen's mom passed away. We all knew how close she is with her family especially her mom. And to be honest we didn't know if she would come to this camp. It really killed us all to see the usually happy smiley and optimistic forward so sad. I remember attending the funeral with Tobin to offer support for Christen. It was crippling watching Christen leaning into her dad and sisters so devastated.
"Do we know who she's rooming with?" Ali asks again trying to move on the conversation quickly not wanting to dwell on the sad truth.
Everyone shakes their head and shrugs before I voice quietly. "I am". Everyone's head snaps to me in mild surprise. I guess they all thought she would be rooming with Tobin.
"Just make sure to give her the space she needs this camp. And maybe just keep an eye on her" Ali advises me with a small smile while I just nod. And with that the conversation swiftly moved onto talks of the World Cup.
After finishing up my food I throw away my trash before deciding to go to my room for a nap. But my eyes widen when I see one of my best friends standing there in front of me. "Tobin! Hi I didn't know you were here yet".
She gives me her signature big grinned smile as we both hug. "We only got here a short while ago. Was about to go get food. Christen said she was tired and went to take a nap in her room".
I nod as I bite my lip fiddling with my phone in my hands. "How is she?"
Tobin sighs letting out a huge huff of air as she scratches the back of her neck. "Didn't speak much to me on the flight or anything. I think she's still trying to come to terms with it. I think she just wants to busy herself now to distract herself". Tobin gets a cheeky smirk on her face, "She did say how she really wanted one of your big bear hugs though".
Of course Tobin knew about my crush on Christen. The three of us hang out all the time and caught me staring at Christen.... multiple times. That and Tobin was practically my sister of course she knew.
I can already feel my face burn as Tobin winks at me. "Shove it Tobs". She laughs a big belly laugh as she nodded her head towards the room. "Seriously though I think she would really like to see you".
I nod as I move towards my room, "Sure I'll see you later Tobs". She nods as she walks into the elevator, "See you later Lover girl".
I throw a middle finger back at her over my shoulder as I hear her cackle before the lift door's close. As I opened the door to our room I peak my head in, smiling when I see Christen was already passed out on the bed. But it's soon replaced with a frown as I see how exhausted she looked with subtle tear tracks on her face.
I move to plop down on my bed next to hers. But freeze when she starts to shuffle on the bed. She flips over onto her side so she's now facing my bed. A few loose strands falling into her face. I carefully and gently go to brush them out of her face and smile as I see her subconsciously smile before nuzzling her face into the pillow cuddling further into the blanket draped over her.
I climb back onto my bed ready to take my own nap. I stare at the ceiling for a bit. Usually if I was roomed with Christen I would be a nervous wreck. Worried I would let slip my feelings for her. But right now I can't focus on that. Right now she just needs me to be there for her. And as I drift off the last thought on my mind was that it didn't matter.
Cause Christen Press is way out of my league
---
I yawn tiredly as I stretch my arms over my head until there's a loud pop from my back. Media days sucked. They were always long and tiring.
And as much as I love Alex being paired with her both was awesome and sucked at the same time. Cause when I'm paired with her most of the questions get directed towards her with allows me to just sit quietly and answer a few questions as I wait for time to pass. But it almost meant everyone wanted to talk to her and so it always over ran and took forever.
So when I was finally released from media hell I couldn't wait to just curl up and crash for the night. Or maybe talk to Christen.
I would have been perfectly happy with either or.
Cause we haven't been able to fit in a proper conversation since she was already down in the meal room when I woke up from my nap. So apart from a small smile and a hug we haven't gotten the chance to really catch up.
As I'm digging around my sweatpants pocket for my room key I'm pulled from my task as I hear someone call me from behind. I turn to see Tobin and Mal walking towards me. "Hey guys".
Tobin grins at me, "Looks like Media has you dead on your feet". I just give her a blank 'really?' look causing the two to fall into giggles.
"Yeah well then your paired with Alex it seems like it's never ending media" I sigh. "Honestly I don't know how Alex does it. I'm pretty sure she answered the same question in about 6 different ways".
Mal scrunches her face in a small grimace. "Ouch. Media days are always kinda sucky. All we did was play Mario Kart all day".
I pout while the others once again laugh at my misfortune. "Lucky for some". My eyes flicker to my door as I swallow already feeling the heat from my cheeks. I clear my throat playing with my hands as I drop my voice slightly. "So uh have either of you seen Christen yet?"
Mal just shakes her head simply while Tobin gets a wicked grin on her face her eyes filling with mirth and glee. "No. But last I heard was that she was going to the roof".
When she winks at me I know I've been caught and rub the back of my neck shyly at Tobin let's out a big laugh while Mal looks between us confused. Swallowing back my embarrassment I shake my heat hoping the blush would die down quickly. "Uh I'm going to go check on her. Make sure she's okay".
But obviously Tobin sees through that as she winks at me. "Go get her Tiger".
I narrow my eyes at her and slap the back of her head as I walk past get towards the stairs. But wince and speed up when I hear Mal.
"Wait what?"
It takes a second before I hear Mal gasp and release a small "No!" Along with Tobin's hearty laugh. I mentally groan at the fact now Mal knows about my crush on Christen. Mentally working it out in my head how long is it going to be before the rest of the youngins as well as the entire team finds out.
Many many many stairs later and I'm finally on the roof. But now we come to the difficult part. What many people don't really know is.
I may have a 'slight' fear of heights
So when I look to see Christen leaning over what looks to me as a really rickety railing I can already feel my heart start to pound and I haven't even left the doorway.
So instead on focusing on how high we're up at the moment cause the thought alone makes me feel dizzy, I focus on Christen. How she has her arms crossed leaning on the silver metal railing. How she's wearing a pair of shorts and a loose and baggy shirt. Which upon further inspection I realize is mine. I smile thinking how many of my clothes she must had stored away somewhere.
Any time I bring it up she would always unapologetically smile at me as she wrapped her arms around herself and argue that my clothes were always warmer. But that's probably to do with the fact that I'm taller than her and my clothes are always bigger and baggy on her which makes her ten times cuter.
She had her long curly hair tied back in a ponytail keeping her hair out of her face and splayed out on her back. Except for these small strands near her face which are flying around due to the wind.
For a split second her elegance and beauty had me in such awe that I forgot about my fear
"Are you okay?"
I instantly curse myself out in my head. Of course she isn't okay. How stupid could I be. I physically wince at my stupidity but Christen just looks at me from over her shoulder and sends me a small smile before looking back out over the railing.
I gulp and pull at the neck of my jersey hoping that would help me breathe but it doesn't. Swallowing hard I take tentative steps towards Christen. Once I make it beside her I grip the railing hard with what could only be described as hanging on for life or death grip. With the railing in both hands I force myself not to look down and just breathe.
I only open my eyes when I see Christen sigh and step back still holding the railing but moving so that she now has her chin on her arms against the railing peering up at me through her eyelashes
Oh sweet Jesus
"How was media day?" Her voice is soft and light but still slightly strained.
I shrug being as brave to tap my thumbs against the railing in an attempt to distract myself. I fail. "You know. The usual. Long. I just let Alex do the talking mostly. Which is easy cause who would want to talk to me with her in the room?"
I meant it as a joke but obviously she doesn't find it funny as she frowns at me. "Your still important too Y/n/n".
I blush and make the mistake of looking out over the railing and then settle for looking at my shoes. "I...I know Chris. Just...". I sigh, "Who would want to talk to me when you have Alex Morgan in the room?"
I can see from the corner of my eye that she pouts at my statement before leaning her head against my bicep making me tense. "Well no offense to Alex but I much rather talk to you all day than Alex". She gives me a cute smile as she looks at me sideways. "Especially if it means I get more if those special bear hugs".
I bite my lip and look down but in doing so I accidentally ended up looking over the railing and down all the way to the ground. I felt like I wanted to keel over and just barf. My vision was starting to go wavey. The only thing keeping me upright was the fact that I knew Christen had other things on her mind to be putting up with my shit and the fact I was holding onto the railing so tight I was surprised there wasn't a dent in it.
There's a small silence. It was peaceful. The only noise there was the wind and the slight flapping of out clothes. And while I was trying to figure out what was best to say I guess Christen could see right through me.
"I miss her" she says softly distracting me from the urge to spill my guts over the railing. Her voice cracked slightly at the end. Accompanied by a tiny sniffle at the end. And I could see her look up and blink rapidly no doubt fighting back tears. "I miss her a lot".
I frown as I watch the person I love so much start to crack and crumble slowly. I open my mouth hoping to provide some sort of comfort but nothing comes out.
I sigh as I run my hand over my hair before I gently put my hand on hers. "I know Chris. I know". I close my eyes and take a deep breath before deciding to disclose something that not many people know about. "Have I ever told you about my family?"
I wait as I watch her think for a second before shaking her head. I dig around in my pocket for my wallet before I pull out a small picture and hand it to her. I smile as I watch her handle it so delicately. "I know everyone thinks Tobin and her family are my family, which I suppose is kinda true. Cause in College Tobin and her family practically adopted me into theirs". I point at the picture. "But that's my real family".
I can see Christen furrow her eyebrows in confusion as she looks at all the different people in the picture.
I look at the picture over her shoulder and smile fondly remembering the day it was taken. "This was taken the day I got my first call up to camp". I take a deep breath before I look away knowing what her reaction is going to be. Cause everyone has the same reaction when I tell them. "I came back from practice one day to see the entire orphanage had thrown me a party to celebrate".
And just as I expected her head pops up in surprise and her eyes widen
I can see how her mouth opens and closes several times but no words come out. I mean I understand that's usually the reaction I get from people. That and pity.
I shake my head smiling softly at her. "I didn't tell you to get sympathy or anything like that. It wasn't that bad. I mean it had it's moments and money was pretty tight most of the time but I have pretty awesome brothers and sisters". I wait a second as she continues examining the picture. "Did you know your mom knew?" I ask quietly.
Now that gets a reaction as her head snaps towards me and she stands up properly. "Really?"
I nod with a smile. "Yeah. Once I told her I wasn't related to Tobin she asked where my parents where and I told her the truth". I chuckle a bit as I rub my thumb over her knuckles. "She didn't treat me differently at all. All she did was hug me and she always invited me over for the holidays". My smile drops slightly, "I wish I had taken up at least one of those offers now. She truly was amazing".
"She never told me" she whispers quietly. She looks as if she's replaying all the conversations she had with her mom trying to think if she ever mentioned it.
I squeeze her hand. "I asked her not to tell you. I always thought she would but I guess she kept her word".
Christen looks down. "It was always important to her. Keeping her word".
I smile brushing some of those fly away hairs from her face and behind her ear. "It just made her even more incredible than she already was".
Christen looks down as she clasps her hands on a long beaded necklace. It takes me a second before I recognize it to be her mother's. "I really miss her".
And it seems that was what breaks the dam as her voice breaks and tears start to leak from her eyes. She starts to curl in on herself before she burrows into me. I hug her with one arm the other still holding tightly to the railing. But as I feel her tears start to wet my shirt I chide myself and ignore my fear and throw my arms around her holding her securely into my chest. I whisper small coos and reassurances in her ear as her sobs eventually start to die down.
As she stops crying she nuzzles her face into my chest making me let out a content smile. "Sorry".
I rub my hand in small circles on her back as I squeeze her tighter into me. "It's okay. Nothing to be sorry for". She looks up at me gives me a teary smile before her hands stop on my chest and she scrunches her face. "Y/n/n? Your heart is pounding. Like it's about to jump out of your chest?"
At that reminder my right hand goes back to clutching the railing while the other rubs the back of my neck sheepishly almost like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar. "Well" I stutter. "I might...kinda...have a fear of heights and we're really high right now and-"
Christen's eyes widen before she chuckles and takes my hand pulling me away from the railing and back to the center of the roof well away from the edge. I can already feel my vision getting better. "Why didn't you say so? You would have comforted me just as well from here".
With red cheeks, I shrug shyly scuffing my shoe against the ground only looking up when Christen giggles.
"Well that was really sweet of you Y/n" she smiles before she bites her lip. "Honestly I thought it was maybe... because of me". She scoffs quietly. "Stupid right?"
I blink at her owlishly trying to register her words before they finally click. Did she just....?
"What? No! I-I mean I..." I stop stumbling over my words and take a deep breath as I see her smile clearly amused at me. "I mean yes my heart was beating fast because of how high we are up. But I do like you and if we weren't this high up and there was a threat of me getting throwing my guts up right now you would definitely have my heart racing. I just always thought you were way out of my league. I mean your....you".
She bites her lip as she smiles and shakes her head at me as if I'm telling some bad corny joke. I gulp hard as she steps closer to me as I stay frozen in my place. "You never give yourself enough credit Y/n. I never understand how you can't see how amazing you are. I mean you came all the way up here, even though your terrified of heights, just to check on me". I see her eyes flicker down to my lips, "I think that's amazingly selfless of you".
And before my mind can catch up she leans in and kisses me softly at first as her hands lean up again my shoulders. As my mind slowly starts to comprehend what's happening my hands slowly move to her waist as I kiss back.
She pulls back only to come back for another kiss moving even closer so there's practically no space between us. Her hands move down and untuck my jersey from my joggers. I gasp as the kiss starts to get more intense and I have to hold myself back from letting a moan slip through my lips. Everything is better than I could have ever imagined. But while every part of me screams to let this continue. I know I can't keep letting this happen.
I pull back breathing heavy and I can see Christen inch in for another but using my grip on her hips I hold her back. Her eyes furrow and scrunch in confusion and concern as she searches my face for any tells.
I sigh screwing my eyes closed for a second trying to prepare myself. Not wanting to fall for those green eyes before I open my eyes. "Chris I would love nothing more for us to continue this. Like you don't know how much this pains me". I look into her eyes sincerely, "But I know your not in the right place right now. Your still getting over your mom and probably stressed about the World Cup and everything".
I can see her features ease at that but she's still slightly hesitant. "I promise you I would love nothing more to keep doing this. I just want to give you a little time to make sure this is something you want and not because your sad and want something to distract you. I don't want to take advantage of you like that".
With that Christen nods and smiles while on sigh glad I was able to convince her of my intentions. "Your too good Y/n".
I just smile down at her as I take my hand. "I just want what's best for you Chris....even if you decide that isn't me".
I move her hand to my chest directly over my heart. "But just so you know that I was being serious". I let her feel how fast my heart was beating. Even faster than when I was over at the ledge. "See? No where near the edge and you will have my heart racing. All systems were ready to go. And when I get back to our room I'll definitely need a cold shower".
I smile brightly as Christen bursts out in giggles trying to hide them behind her hand. "Gosh you make me laugh even when I think it's not possible anymore".
"I will make a fool out of myself everyday if it means I get to hear you laugh" I tell her honestly giving her hand a small squeeze. She smiles and gives me one small chaste kiss.
I smile into the kiss before we break apart and lean my forehead against hers. "Just remember. The ones who love us never really leave us". I point to her heart, "They'll always be in here".
She opens her mouth and scrunches her nose at me trying and failing to hide a smile blooming on her face. "Did you just...."
But before she could finish I nod. "Quote Harry Potter? Yes. Yes I did".
She giggles at me and gives me one last peck before pulling me by the hand back to our room.
"C'mon you dork I want some special bear hugs when we get back to our room".

soft.
a bucky barnes x fem!reader wherein the reader comes home to see the super soldier with a toddler tucked in his lap.
WARNING: none! (all mistakes within the story are mine)
A/N: soft and domestic (and clingy) bucky, anyone? i’ve written this with tfaws bucky in mind after episode five where he was on the couch and smiled after seeing sam’s nephews. so yes now i present to you bucky with a child bcs we need that content, ,, good bYe for i shall be drowning in my own feels.
---
“Do you really have to go, doll?” Bucky asked, watching you by the frame of your shared bedroom door with his hands crossed against his chest. A heavy sigh heaving from his lips as his eyes observed you pick out a shirt to wear, hands grasping on his black shirt and opted to wear that; a small smile formed on his lips as you slipped into the clothing piece, adoring how big it looks on you.
You turned to him with your hand on your waist, an eyebrow raised, “Unless you want to starve for a whole month then fine I won’t go to the grocery” you say teasingly, checking yourself out in the mirror before walking up to him, arms linking around his neck loosely; his hands circling around your waist in a protective manner as he pulls you into him. “I won’t be gone for the whole day, James.”
He groaned softly, wanting nothing more than to accompany you but seeing that you were going with your mother, he opted out. “You always say that then be gone for the whole afternoon.” he grumbles in between the kisses he gives you. “You and your mom take so much time at the grocery store.”
You threw your head back and laughed, finding his small whiny state adorable. You retract your arms from behind his neck and cupped the sides of his face, squishing his cheeks gently. “You sound like a child, Buck. I promise I won’t be long. Besides, you have Alpine to keep you company.” you motion your head to the sleeping cat on the bed.
“Now please let me go so I can leave now and be back sooner.” you tell him, pressing one final kiss to his lips before ducking out of his embrace, making your way to the front door and grabbing your car keys before turning back to see him standing behind you with a small pout on his lips (albeit he would never admit to doing such an act),
You grinned and walked up to him, reaching up to press a small kiss on his lips. “Sometimes it's hard to believe you’re this big scary dude that can take twenty men down in a course of ten minutes when all I see is this big baby.” you tease, a hand snaking up to the back of his head to play with the ends of his hair softly.
“Doll wait before you go” Bucky starts off, holding onto you, cheeks lightly flushed as he hesitated with his words, clearing his throat lightly before looking away, “Can you set up that damn Netflix thing on the TV before you leave?”
Your gaze on him softened even more and nodded, leading him to the living room and set the whole thing up for him, handing him the remote right after. “I’m guessing you can manage now?” he smiled shyly, the area around his eyes crinkling as he nodded. “Yeah, I will. Thanks, doll.”
“I’ll be back later, I love you, Buck!” You bid him a goodbye, looking back at him from the door and gave him a small wave, the male waving back before focusing on the TV, searching for that one movie you suggested he watch.
“What was that movie called again? RIght, The Breakfast Club”
---
Not even half-way through the movie, Bucky had somehow fallen asleep on the couch, not finding the first few minutes of the film entertaining. He somehow fell deep into slumber that he didn’t even notice the front door of the house opening until he felt something being placed on his stomach.
He stirred awake and the first thing his blurry vision could make out is the outline of a toddler sitting on him. “Hey James, I’m leaving Hugo with you and Y/N for the weekend. Our babysitter cancelled out last minute and I’ve been trying to call my sister but she hasn’t picked up any calls.” Damian, your younger brother said in a rush, putting down your nephew’s baby bag on the coffee table. “Thanks James, we owe you one.”
But before Bucky could get a say in any of this, Damian was already out the door and the sound of a car pulling away was followed. Barely half-awake, he stared at the tyke who was staring right back at him with his innocent E/C doe eyes. “What do I do with you?”
He takes Hugo in his arms as he sits up, placing him on his lap, his metal arm reaching over to pause television. “Y/N’s better at this than I am.” he mumbles, watching the child look around the room before he started to fidget on the larger male’s lap, wanting to roam around.
Bucky sighs, “Now why won’t Y/N answer her calls?” he asks the tiny human who was still staring up at him. He reaches over to grab his phone and dials your number, only to hear it ring from the other side of the house, inside your room. He dropped the call and placed his phone inside his pocket, now wondering what he could do to keep the small person alive.
“Usually Y/N deals with you.” He says, watching the small child struggle on his lap, clearly wanting to get down. Bucky finally gets what Hugo wanted to do and sets him down on the carpeted floor, watching the toddler (wobbly) walk around the space freely.
Seeing that the child was doing alright after finding a small fixation with Alpine who was now resting near the couch, he returned his attention back to the TV to resume watching the movie. His attention split in half as he continued to glance back at the kid who was now playing with the toys you had brought him and kept at in a basket in the corner of the living room where you deemed it “Hugo’s Area”
Bucky was finally getting into the film, entertainment written all over his face at the sight of the students dancing around the library until it morphed into one of concern when a small bonk followed by a loud cry resonated the room making him look over at Hugo who was already flushed from crying.
He paused the movie again and rushed over to Hugo’s side, taking the small boy in his arms, cradling him on his lap as he tried to calm him down. “Now kid, don’t cry on me. C’mon” he mumbled, raising him up lightly to look at his forehead as he searched for any wounds, relieved to find none.
“C’mon James, what would Y/N do…” He said to himself, standing up as he moved around and cradled the crying child, trying to remember what you would do whenever he has meltdowns like this.
“Oh god, right!” Bucky exclaimed as he remembered, quickly going to the couch and sat down, placing Hugo on his lap as he gently placed his vibranium hand on the back of his head and his flesh one cupping the smaller one’s cheek, wiping the tears that glistened on his smooth skin.
Seeing how the toddler was starting to calm down, he carefully spoke, “Now you gotta work with me, little one.” Bucky then proceeded to blow softly on his face, remembering how you would do that when Hugo was having a fit. “Now can you do that for me as well?” He asked, encouraging the child with a small smile.
Once he felt the kid do the same thing, he repeated the steps a few more times until he was completely calm, letting the child snuggle up against his chest, feeling how he would occasionally let out a small shuddering sob from time to time, making Bucky laugh at the adorable action. “Now what do you want to do?” he gently asked, the cold surface of his metal hand that caressed the child’s back making small bubbles of laughter elicit from the baby.
“Bucky wead [ read ] pwease?” was all that left the two-year old’s mouth, causing a small surprise from the older. Hugo then pushed himself off from Bucky’s chest and turned to his small corner of the room, raising his small arm and pointing his even smaller finger towards the bookshelf that was filled to the brim with story books.
A chuckle left the soldier’s lips, “Alright then, little dude. Go take your pick.” he then proceeded to let him down and watch as the toddler walked his way towards the array of books and picked out one, running back towards him with a big smile.
“Alright big guy, what do you have for me?” Bucky asked, taking the tyke in his arms once again, taking the book from Hugo’s hands. He let out a (very) fake gasp of excitement which made the toddler laugh out loud as his reaction, making small little wiggles of his own eagerness for the book.
Bucky shifted in his seat a little to be more comfortable, letting Hugo snuggle up to him as he opened the book and started to read, “Llama Llama, red pajama, reads a story with his mama.”
---
You were elated to finally come back home and fall into your lover’s arms from a long day of errands with your mom. After the Target trip with your mom, you had to drive her back home and help her with her own groceries and pack up everything with her over at your childhood home一 with an addition of having a few serious talks with her about your future.
“Seriously, Y/N. When are you going to give me a grandchild?” Your mother poked your sides as you helped her bring in the bags filled with her stuff. Ever since Damian introduced Hugo to the family, she’d been on your heels about when you and Bucky would bring one to them as well; admittedly you and him had been in a much longer relationship than Damian and his wife which surprises everyone even more.
You shrugged, rolling your eyes in a playful manner. “I don’t know, mom. I think I’m content being with Bucky for now.” you answered truthfully, setting the items on the kitchen island and turned to her, “Besides, we have Alpine! Our cat!”
This made your mother sigh, laughing softly at your antics. “I know my sweet girl, but I’m just so excited to see a little you or James run around with Hugo.” Her answer causes your heart to swell at the thought of starting a family with him some day; conversations like this with him are normal but are always caught in a fleeting moment so you were never certain about his opinions on the matter.
“Well you just have to wait and see, ma.”
Taking the bags in your hand, you walked over to the door and opened it with ease, expecting to see Bucky waiting for you on the other side only to be greeted by none. Your eyebrows were furrowed as you carefully stepped inside, assuming he had fallen asleep as he waited for you until you heard his quiet voice resonating through the living room. “Little llama, don’t you know? Mama llama loves you so”
You peeked at the source of the sound and what you saw made you just melt on the spot. Bucky had Hugo on his lap, your nephew playing with the thumb of his artificial arm as he listened to the story that he was barely paying attention to as he was already falling asleep.
Not wanting to interrupt the moment, you graced on over to the kitchen in silence and arranged everything as quiet as you can. The smile on your face growing bigger at the thought of how much of a good father Bucky could be; the sight of him with your nephew caused a thousand butterflies to dance around in your stomach freely.
“You’re back, doll?” Bucky’s quiet voice made you jump, head whipping to his direction where he stood with Hugo fast asleep in his arms.
You nod and walk towards him, offering to take him from his arms and Bucky disagreed, pulling away from your attempts. “Hugo’s with me, I’ll take him to bed and I’ll help you finish out here, alright?”
Chuckling softly, you agree and reach up to place a quick kiss on your nephew’s forehead, moving aside so Bucky can place him down inside your room.
You were folding up the plastic bags when you felt a pair of arms sneak up and circle your waist, capturing you in a back hug. Your back was flat against his chest, the warmth from his body making you relax in his arms. Turning around, you let your arms snake up around his neck, your hands playing with the ends of his hair, his physique visibly loosening up. “So your brother came here earlier and said you weren’t picking up your calls.”
“I forgot my phone, i know.” you told him, throwing your head back slightly to let out a soft groan of annoyance at yourself before looking back at him. You met his gaze and his eyes were filled with adoration and love with a spark of something you can’t seem to pinpoint. “What’s going through that head of yours, James?”
He hummed softly, pressing a quick kiss to your lips, “I was just thinking of how I want to have a family of my own with you.” he answered truthfully, not finding anything shameful in admitting his thoughts. “The afternoon I spent with Hugo made me realize I want that for us as well.” his words were soft and dripping with enthusiasm at the thought of being with you for the rest of your days.
This made your cheeks flush lightly, a happy smile resting on your lips as you were already in agreement of his words, “I’ve been thinking the exact same thing, Bucky. I can’t wait to have our own little minion running around the house.” you admitted, this time making Bucky smile even wider than yours, happy that you had the same thought.
“Also, not to brag but I think I’m his favourite now.” Bucky said out of nowhere, grabbing the small carton of chocolate milk from behind you and letting you go, opening the drink and chugging it down in one go.
You rolled your eyes at his words, playfully flipping him off as you sauntered into the pantry where you were arranging your stock of goods. “I highly doubt that, he loves me way more.”
“That’s what you think but Hugo made me read his favourite book to him so now I’m his favourite. He even said it himself.”
“Oh no he didn’t!”

Home: Where She Belongs
[Levi Schuler x Laura Day Masterlist]
Pairing: Levi Schuler x Laura Day [F!MC] with Lily (daughter) Book: Mother of the Year (chapter 16) Word Count: <1,600 (sorry it's a big long!) Rating: General
Prompts: @choicesaugustchallenge relaxation; @choicesbookclub : MOTY Replay Chapter 16 ; @wackydrabbles #108 (prompt in bold)
A/N: As a whole MOTY is a solid book, but one thing that I hated was the fact that instead of going home with her daughter after winning the court case MC sneaks off with her LI for a 30 diamond scene. I love those scenes, but that wasn't the time.
Synopsis: Following the celebration with their friends over the court case win, Laura and Lily head home for a private celebration, knowing they had won and no one would keep them apart. [Fluff with some comfort/care]
Bliss. Laura thought after some consideration. That's what this is—bliss.
Her body fluttered with a pleasant warmth that enveloped her in its comfort and relaxation. She breathed easily for the first time in weeks, the weight of the world no longer on her shoulders. She could simply enjoy the moment without worry of tomorrow.
She knew better than to expect the future to be sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns, but for the moment, this was enough—actually, it was more than enough—it was perfect. The outcome might not have been everything she wanted, but it was better than what she feared. Lily was hers, and she always would be.
The voices of her friends surrounded her. They had all been eager to join in for a celebratory dinner. She had never needed to ask them to be there; they just were. She wondered how she and Lily would have survived in Goldcliffe without them; thankfully, they'd never need to figure it out.
Laura leaned forward, resting her chin on the back of her hand as she watched Levi play a game with Lily and Luz across the table. Their laughter was a melody in the night air, one that filled her heart with joy. Her eyes glistened in the dimming light. She wondered if the smile etched on her face would ever fade.
Lily's mouth opened, a silent yawn slipping out between excited explanations of her science fair project and how her newly rebuilt rocket was better than the previous one.
"It's late," Laura finally said, interrupting their game. "You've had a big day, my Stargirl. We both have. How about we head home?" Home—Laura couldn't help but smile at the word. Lily was going home with her, where she belonged.
"Okay," Lily agreed, without any complaining, knowing they had already planned their own little private celebration.
Laura said her goodbyes, thanking her friends once more for all they had done. Lily made her rounds, giving hugs and reminding everyone of the upcoming science fair.
"Thank you," Laura whispered as Levi drew her into his arms, holding her safely. "I couldn't have survived this without you."
"As much as my ego thanks you for that, you're the strongest person I know. You can survive anything." He brushed a kiss on her forehead as he leaned back, his attention turning to Lily. He pulled her into a bear hug that lifted her off the ground, causing her to giggle into his shoulder. "Goodnight, Rocket. I'm glad we'll still get to be neighbors. I'd hate to lose my partner in crime."
"I'm glad I get to stay too!" Lily beamed. "Do you want to come have celebration hot chocolate with us?"
"Celebration hot chocolate?" Levi set her back on the ground and bent down to her level. "I don't want to mess up whatever you and your mom have planned. You two have fun."
"But, there's extra marshmallows!!!" Her eyes widened, pleading with him.
"Extra marshmallows, huh?"
Lily nodded enthusiastically. "And whipped cream. And cinnamon! And chocolate syrup!"
"Wow. That is tempting." His gaze shifted to Laura, who was attempting to hide her smile behind her hands. "Are you sure?"
"Yes! You have to come!" She insisted, slipping her hand into his. "Right, mom?"
"I think she's right. I mean, how can you argue against celebration hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, AND cinnamon?" Laura shrugged in defeat as if though there were no other options than to accept.
"Then, there's nowhere else I'd rather be," Levi decided.
It didn't take long for the water to heat once they returned home. They worked together, moving through the kitchen as if it had always been like this—the three of them. Levi got the mugs ready with the powdered chocolate mix. Laura carefully poured water into each, leaving plenty of room for Lily to add all the toppings.
Marshmallows rained down over the three cups as she scooped large handfuls onto each mug. Lily grinned excitedly as she tipped the can of whipped cream, creating white, fluffy mountains, with one peak noticeably higher than the others.
"Do you think you need that much sugar before bed?" Laura questioned with a raise of her brow.
Lily's eyes widened, and she nodded enthusiastically. "It's a celebration!"
"Just this once!" Laura kissed the top of her daughter's head, her fingers trailing through her silky, black hair. Every day had always been a treasure with Lily, but now more so than ever. She would never take a second of their time together for granted.
Lily sprinkled cinnamon on hers and her mom's cups. "Do you want some, Levi?"
"Hmm‚" he pondered. He dipped his fingers through her cinnamon-dusted, whipped cream ridge, sampling it. "Mmm, that is good!"
"Hey!" Lily pouted. "No fair."
Levi laughed, a playful smirk pulling at his lips. He scooped up some of the fluffy topping off of his cup and dotted it on her nose. "Better?"
Lily's mouth fell open in surprise. Her hand was on the can of whipped cream again. The nozzle pointing at Levi, her finger hovering dangerously on the trigger, ready to set it off with the slightest change in pressure.
Their gaze narrowed at one another, the corners of their lips pulling up as silence fell in the kitchen.
"If it's war you want—" Lily began, breaking the quiet. "Then you shall have it."
Levi grabbed the plastic container of chocolate syrup, holding it up. "Two can play at that game, Rocket."
Lily stood in her chair, keeping her finger carefully on the nozzle. "I have the high ground."
Before he could respond, Laura stepped in, snatching both containers from them.
"Mom!"
"Laura," Levi moaned, matching Lily's tone but adding a teasing wink.
"You two are trouble!"
"Only the best kind of trouble, right?" Levi took his mug and lifted it up. "What do you say, rocket—partners in crime still?"
Lily lifted her mug, clinking it against his. "Space partners in crime," she added.
"How could I forget?" He took a sip of his cocoa as Lily did the same. Both of them ended up with whipped cream on their noses.
Laura sighed happily, watching the two most important people in her world laugh effortlessly together.
After about an hour of Lily vibrating from her sugar high and rattling off the names of all the stars in the night sky above them, she finally crashed on the couch. Her eyes were closed, but her mouth still attempted to finish the list.
"I think it's time for bed, my little astronomer." Laura helped her sleepy daughter to her room to get ready for bed. She tucked her carefully under the covers, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Good night, my beautiful girl. I love you to Andromeda and back."
She paused at the door, taking another look back. A part of her worried she'd never have this moment again. The sight of Lily safely asleep in her bed, the glow-in-the-dark stars above her keeping watch as her daughter dreamt dreams bigger than she could ever imagine.
When she returned, she found Levi where she left him on the couch. She curled into his arms.
He brushed her hair back, kissing the crown of her head. "What do you need? What can I do for you? Lily wasn't the only one with a big day."
"This," she whispered, closing her eyes as she breathed in his scent. "Just hold me."
"Done." He hugged her closer, wrapping her in his warmth. His fingers caressed her back, massaging her tenderly. "I won't let go. I love you, Laura—you 'n Lily, more than I could've thought possible."
Her body trembled, and she let out a sharp cry. The tears she had pushed down all day erupted at the sound of his confession.
"Shh, it's okay. I've got you."
She buried her face in his chest, hoping to quell the tears that kept coming, not wanting to wake Lily.
"It's okay. You did good. Lily is safe. You're safe. It's going to be okay." He continued whispering tender encouragement in her ear as he kept her close, allowing the weeks of frustration and heartbreak to pour out.
Slowly, her breathing steadied, and her sobs subsided.
"That's it. You need sleep. Come on." He lifted her into his arms, much to her surprise. His brow arched as he caught her eye. "What? I said I wouldn't let go."
She nuzzled back into his neck. "Thank you...for everything."
"Shh, just rest." He carried her to her room at the end of the short hall, placing her down on the edge of the bed. He ran his thumb over her cheek, wiping away the last of her tears.
Her eyes were red and swollen. "Stay?"
"Are you sure?"
She stood to meet him, wobbling a little, not realizing how tired she was, but he was there to support her. She cupped his face. "I've never been more sure. I love you, Levi."
He kissed her softly. "Okay. Who am I to disagree with what the lady wants."
"Good. I'm not ready for you to let go yet." Laura slipped out of her clothes, grabbing a baggy t-shirt to put on.
"Great band!" Levi noted as he took off his pants and shirt and slid into bed. "I have the same shirt at home."
"No, you don't—" Laura climbed in, nestling into him once more. "—because this one's yours."
He breathed out a laugh as he rested his head on hers. He held her close, humming softly until she finally fell asleep in his arms.
Thank you for reading! I appreciate your support. Likes, reblogs, and comments are always amazing and make my day!
I hope you enjoyed this story. (Don't worry, Laura and Levi will still get their 30 diamond scene... that night just didn't feel appropriate for it).

warnings. manga spoilers, fluff and angst, gender neutral reader
a/n. my entry for anilysium's collab, don't forget to check the masterlist !! thank u sm temi for the beta ♡ @thefairywalker
hope is what makes someone hold onto a promise. and that hope it's worse than the broken promise itself.
—
845.
an autumn-like breeze cooled down the summer afternoon, and with the sky barren of any clouds, it was easier for the sun rays to land on those familiar blond strands.
"over there!"
eren's small hand—even though it was big enough to cover yours—wrapped around your wrist before it tugged you through the crowd. your rapid breaths were all you could hear while you mentally prayed to make it on time, just a couple more steps and you would be within reach, already staring at armin’s frightened face which caused your heart to jump. but what finally managed to send you in a state of despair was the sight of eren shoving the bigger kid away.
“what do you think you’re doing, yeager?!”
“are you hurt?” tears gathered at the corners of your eyes while you helped armin up on his feet, you didn’t have to turn around to know eren had received a punch, his pained wail making you flinch.
armin took your hand and together faced the scene before your eyes, holding onto each other's hands while tears dampened your cheeks.
“leave him alone!” the tremble in your voice was obvious, even after multiple fights with those kids it always ended up the same way. armin and you crying in fear for eren and mikasa's safety.
only this time mikasa was nowhere to be seen.
“shut up!”
“don’t talk to them like that!” with a kick on the shin, eren managed to keep the bully out of commission for a few seconds. but that was enough for your saviour to arrive.
“leave before i call the garrison.”
relief began to relax your tense stance, you all knew that it wasn’t the moment to be wasting their time in a kid’s fight, the shortage of food seemed to worsen each day and keeping the people on a tight leash became harder as the days went by.
the kid seemed to finally realize he wouldn't win this time, so with a scoff he took a couple of steps back, "this isn't over," his annoyed gaze traveled from eren to you, "and try not to piss your pants next time."
the three of you watched him run away while the rush of adrenaline began to wear out on your bodies and gave in to the tiredness. had mikasa not intervened, the outcome would've been way worse.
"hey," eren was the first one to break the silence, turning towards you and landing a hand on your shoulder. unfortunately, the softness in his voice was your catalyst and soon you allowed the distress to overcome you, "oh no, don't cry!"
it was useless to try to get your tears to stop, falling one after another as your chest racked with broken sobs, "i-i'm sorry i couldn't be o-of help!"
armin watched in worry as eren tried and failed to get you to calm down. he could tell you were scared when you confronted the bully, your hold on his hand so tight he feared you would end up hurting yourselves. but even so, you had pulled through your fear and stood your ground, something he admired from you.
with a tug on your shirt, mikasa signaled you to start walking, her impassive yet reassuring gaze letting you know she was there for you.
"let's go home."
—
the warm steam that blew onto your blotchy face felt soothing, the taste of mrs. yeager's freshly brewed tea successfully relaxing the tightness in your chest as it ran down your throat.
you could already feel the tiredness hitting you all at once, begging you to lie down and close your eyes so you could rest your mind after the afternoon's occurrences. but with eren's eyes observing you, you knew you weren't off the hook yet.
"better?"
not trusting your voice, you hummed and smiled behind the cup resting on your lips, sniffling slightly when a flashback of eren being punched on the face appeared on your mind.
however, he didn't seem to be done with the topic.
"why did you stand up to him if you were so scared? you were lucky he didn't go for you."
"'cause i didn't want him to keep punching you."
"i don't need your help," his tone gave you the wrong impression. were you bothering him? a frown pulled your lips in a wobbly pout but he was quick to realize his error, "i mean, we should focus on armin, right? he's the one always in trouble."
you rocked your feet back and forth, watching them dangle from the chair as you mulled over his words. he wasn't lying, it was armin who often ended up as the victim of those bullies. at least when neither of you were around to aid him.
"i have a plan!" eren suddenly perked up, eyes brimming with excitement and pride as he obviously found his plan a good one, "dad always says that it's his duty to protect mom because they're married. so, if we get married, i can protect you and we can protect armin—together!"
you couldn't help but gasp, "married?! but we are too little!"
"not now, dummy. when we grow up!"
"what if i cry again and can't protect armin?" you voiced out your biggest worry as you pushed the cup away and made room on the table for your arm, resting your chin on top of it after yawning.
"i'll protect all of us," he didn't even hesitate, “and we have mikasa too.”
the silly promise made so much sense to your 10-year-old brain, which is why you held onto the hope and safety it gave you and agreed.
carla yeager squealed the news to her husband once eren and you had fallen asleep.
—
850.
there wasn't a day where you didn't regret not going with them.
the lively days soon became dull without eren and armin’s excited voices as they discussed the fire and icy lands in armin’s book, mikasa’s reassuring presence gone as well. but you knew you wouldn’t make it through the strenuous military training—or at least that was what you had told yourself.
truthfully, you wondered how were they not scared of continuing with their suicide mission of joining the legion, all those sacrifices just to see what was outside the walls. why couldn’t they be happy with what you already had? it wasn’t much, but you had each other, which was more than what most people could say.
with shiganshina gone, you became one of the refugees that lurked in the streets of trost. the conditions to live growing harsher, food and shelter becoming escarse and a luxury, but eren’s promise gave you enough strength to go on with your days until you landed a job as a waitress at a pub.
you missed them, all of them.
their names flew from the mouths of the military police and other higher ups that passed by, making you wonder what they were up to. however, when news spread about eren’s abilities to shift into one of those creatures, that old sense of worry shook you to your very core.
was he hurt? mikasa wouldn't let anyone lay a finger on him, but what if they separated them?
multiple scenarios ran through your head, many of them not so pleasing and only worsening your nerves. but if their names kept coming up in the authorities’ conversations after each and every mission, then it meant they were still alive.
unfortunately, all you could do was pray for their well-being and silently beg them to return.
—
854.
after years of not hearing his voice, it took you several seconds to recognize it.
“where– where are we? why–”
“you’ve changed,” his tone was soft yet hints of curiosity sept through as he marveled at you, “you look older..." prettier, he wanted to say.
having spent so many years without the intensity of his gaze, you realized you had grown unused to it, “you’ve changed too.”
it seemed like everyone had disappeared, except for you and him. dunes of fine sand slithered under your feet and a bright light illuminated the starry sky, converging by the horizon and causing his green eyes to shine in a way you had never seen before.
“eren… what’s all this?”
one moment you were surrounded by chaos, people screaming while an army of colossal titans walked south and eren declared war against the rest of the world; and the next it all had gone quiet, a man—eren—standing next to you while holding your hand.
"they will pay, and then we will be free," his thumb rubbed the skin on the back of your hand gently.
you caught the way his gaze hardened for a second, rage clear in his features but what confused you the most was the amount of hurt swirling in his eyes.
what did he mean by 'they'? you were aware of marley's feelings towards the eldians but was it truly that bad? there were so many questions you wanted to ask, but something told you that you didn’t have enough time so you chose to stick to the most important ones.
“how's mikasa? armin... is it true? he’s the colossal now?”
eren pulled you closer to him by tugging on your hand, cradling the side of your face with his free hand as a smile took over his lips.
"mikasa's busy kicking everyone's asses," he joked and you couldn't help but laugh, relieved at the sudden lightness in his voice. your eyes closed briefly when he leaned forward and rested his forehead against yours, licking his lips before continuing, "armin... yeah, he's the colossal. looks like i need to find another excuse to marry you, hm?”
you found it unfair how after almost a decade, he could still hold such a power over your heart, the butterflies in your stomach feeling worse than what you recalled.
“you remember?”
he didn't miss the hope in your tone, his own heart aching at the thought of you assuming he had forgotten about your existence. there wasn't a day where he hadn't wondered about your well-being, were you safe? had a titan stole your life just like they had done with his mom? it was armin and mikasa who consoled him whenever the intrusive thoughts became too much to his already stressed mind.
“i never forgot.”
it was subtle, the way that kids promise evolved into a lifetime vow—but neither of you minded.
“i need you to promise me one more thing," he murmured, his breath fanning over your lips while your own faltered at his proximity.
“you’re leaving again,” it wasn't a question.
“i have to.”
it pained him to no end, but it had to be done. the warmth of his lips touched your forehead, your cheeks, and lips; staying longer on the latter while your hearts synchronized for a moment, sharing years worth of affection.
"stay here, on the island. find somewhere safe to stay until it all ends.”
a mere murmur on your lips, that was all it took to harm your hopeful soul.
"and don't wait for me."

precious — park jeongwoo
warnings: lowercase,grammartical error,mention of death,nightmare
words: 1.8k words
pairing: jeongwoo + fem reader
it's nothing strange when jeongwoo stays with your family during holidays or school days. you guys' bonds are really strong, besides your parents are also best friends since high school so that's why both of you are close to each other.
it's usual summer breaks, jeongwoo hanging with you at your house, binging some netflix series. jeongwoo who is already bored watching the vampire diaries for thousand times, secretly glancing at his best friend.
he never thought of having a girl like you as his best friend (beside haruto of course) for him, you're perfect. sometimes he has a thought that he would never bored live in this world with you only. sounds creepy but that's how he loves his friendship with you.
turning 17 is a lot harder than jeongwoo ever imagine, he thought going through puberty is a lot easier. but trust him, it's not.
when he gets older, he realized that he saw you not as a best friend but as a girl he wants to date. he doesn't know when or why he fell for you but for sure he head over heels towards you.
"woo, stop looking at my pretty face"
"am i supposed to look at your damon then?" jeongwoo scoffed, flustrated you caught him looking at her
"um, yea?" you answer, grabbing a handful of popcorn from the bowl and stuffed into her mouth, without breaking the glance from television
jeongwoo let out a small laugh, seeing you, really into that show although this is their thousands time watching it
"im tired of these vampires, i'm bored" he confesses, lean back on the beige couch, once again he glances at you hoping you would respond to him
"you can't get tired of this, we're gonna binge this show until we're old," you said
"old? are you gonna be old with me y/n?" jeongwoo asked
without looking at the brown-haired boy, you nodded
"how about your future husband? doesn't he be jealous when his wife binge her favorite show with her guy best friend?" jeongwoo asked, when he sure his feelings towards you, he can't help but think about their future, if they ended up with someone else, does their friendship will last long? or they're gonna be like a stranger?
jeongwoo's question finally made you pause the show and turns her back to jeongwoo, staring at his relaxed face
"what?"
"i don't want to be married, no-one can't stand if i'm having one of those ruthless nightmares" you frowned and pout at the same time, jeongwoo can't help but smile as a response, he just wanna pinch your soft cheeks.
you suffer from nightmares, although it happens occasionally, when it's happened, you will call jeongwoo, face-timing the sleepy boy until the next morning because you're too scared to return to sleep and spent the rest of the night, crying. and jeongwoo is the one and only who accompany you till the next morning no matter how tired he is.
he never sleeps when you having a nightmare, he will take care of you and calm you down, you will keep apologizing to jeongwoo and treat him with good food the next day, and of course, jeongwoo didn't mind at all, because he hates seeing someone he loves suffering.
"so do you want to get married to me then?" jeongwoo asked, if haruto is here, he will screaming at the top of his lungs cause jeongwoo finally got some brave to make his move.
you let out a big laugh
"nope, i want to marry with damon" you stick out your tongue at jeongwoo, making the boy tickles your body.
the house filled with your and jeongwoo's laughter, although you guys didn't notice you guys are really at your highest of happiness now.
+.*
it's 4 am and you once again woke up because of the nightmare. however, this nightmare felt different, it made you shaking so bad and out of breath, your body all covered with cold sweats, tears slowly falling to your cheeks.
quietly you sobbing in your blanket, although all of your nightmares seem real, this nightmare felt too overwhelmed for you— usually, you would call jeongwoo but today you didn't, it because your nightmare this time is about him.
you never dreamt about anyone else, never! but tonight you dreamt about jeongwoo, you dream that he is dead. his soul left his body because saving you. all the scenarios from your dream keep playing in your heads and you want to forget it but you can't.
and that time you realized,
you and jeongwoo fit together like a puzzle piece.
+.*
you didn't sleep after the long night. you calmed yourself by watching some of your and jeongwoo videos together. you cried when you realized you fell way too deep at jeongwoo. his laughs are loud and annoying, he's too talkative, and he's too clingy. for others, he may be annoying but not to you, you could listen to his laugh, he's never-ending story while he clinging onto you every day and you feel weird if he didn't do that for a day. he also always put others first before him, he always cares about the people he treasure. how can you not fall for this boy!?!?
you grabbed ices cube from the freezer and put it on both of your eyes to get rid of the swollen eyes. although you knew so well jeongwoo would notice your swollen eyes but it's never hurt to try.
minutes later you heard jeongwoo's voice across the living room, greeting your mother. quickly you threw the ices into the sink and wipe your wet eyes using your sleeve.
you grab your mom's morning coffee and greet jeongwoo who already enter the kitchen, smiling widely as he saw you.
"jeongwoo, your voice is so loud my ears hurt!" you said trying to act normal.
jeongwoo grins and side hug you, jeongwoo frowns when he saw you drink a coffee? you hate coffee, even the smell made you mad.
"you drank coffee y/n? are you a real y/n?" jeongwoo look at you with a suspicious look and hit your head
"you ghost, get out from y/n's body, she sleeps and watching the vampire diaries all days it's no hope for you to control her body" he hit your head once again
"ouch! ya, park jeongwoo!" you slap jeongwoo's chest and put down the mug on the counter.
"that was my mom," you said making jeongwoo mouthing an 'o'
you and jeongwoo are now in your study room, studying for your guys' upcoming exam after summer breaks end. the room is so quiet, and it made you nervous. whenever you with jeongwoo, you guys are never this silent. usually, jeongwoo would sing or throw some stupid jokes that could lighten the darkroom.
you glance at jeongwoo, you lowkey surprised seeing the male is so focused on his study, jeongwoo is indeed a smart boy but you never see jeongwoo study so seriously???
"woo, you okay?" you asked
jeongwoo drops his pencil and finally look at you
"why?"
"um, the silence is too loud, you know"
"yeah"
jeongwoo continues his study after the short answer. his short responses making you shocked. never in your life he treat you like this
"woo, are you okay?" you asked again
jeongwoo sighed and his eyes bore into you.
"your eyes swollen, i thought we have no secrets at all? but i think we have now" he said and crossed his arms.
he felt upset when you didn't tell him why you were crying. he saw your eyes red and swollen in the kitchen but he didn't wanna ask, usually, you're the one who would tell him from a to z, what happens.
you bowed your head, you bite your lips. how you're gonna tell jeongwoo about your dream? you start picking your nails, all of a sudden you remembered your dream crystal clear, you recalled how jeongwoo's body full of blood, exited from his chest and his face so pale, mouth shaking while try to said his last words
'be safe y/n'
you shriek when the image of jeongwoo's death felt too real for you. you cover both of your ears and your face buried down between your knee.
"y/n are you okay?" jeongwoo asked, panic, he goes to your back and rubs your back, whispering 'everything is okay. he shocked and clueless since this is his first time facing this kind of situation but he copied everything you do whenever he felt blue.
after a moment you finally raised your heads and look at jeongwoo who worriedly stare at you. your face pale, trying so hard to forget about your dream and the fact that your dream feels too real not to help you at all. you quickly hugged jeongwoo, you buried your face in his chest, crying, and begged him to not leave you. jeongwoo froze at your sudden action but he still ensures you that he would stay.
"i got a nightmare yesterday" you finally speak up, your face still buried deep in jeongwoo's chest, too scared to face him.
"what? y/n why you didn't—"
you make a little space between you and jeongwoo
"the dream is about you woo! i dreamt you died last night and it felt too real! i scared, the dream wouldn't go away so i cried all night, i– still clearly saw your dead body in my dream. it all felt too real woo"
jeongwoo face become soft and his unsettle towards you faded away, he hugs you tightly and kiss your head
"i won't go anywhere, those dreams are devil trying to hurt my precious best friend," he said, rubbing your back to calm you.
you let go of the hug and look at jeongwoo with shy looks
"because of that nightmare, i realized something"
"what?"
"i don't love damon anymore, i love you" you confess making jeongwoo giggles
"finally i beat damon! come here bestfr—"
"no woo! i love you as a boy, man, or whatever it is. i love you not as a friend!" you said
jeongwoo froze, his smile faded
"i,i— you what? y-you love me?" he asked again
you shyly nodded
jeongwoo froze
his brain still processing all of your words. it's kinda strange when your crush has the same feeling as you
"woo, you're making me scared. say something"
jeongwoo looks at your red and swollen face, he smiled at how he is so lucky to have this girl as his girl?
"i love you too, i love you a lot and it's hard to keep it since you're my best friend," he said making you smile and tears falling on your cheeks
"please stay tonight i'm still scared," you said
"of course, now come here precious girl" jeongwoo said, wrapped his hand around you and kiss your head.

Hongjoong smiled proudly as he finished putting on the top coat on his daughter's tiny finger nails. Blowing on them softly, he admired his work of painting on a cute array of different glittery red and blue designs on each nail.
"Oh you already look so pretty my darling. Now let's finish up your hair."
Going behind her, he began to brush her hair, making sure not to pull too hard, not wanting accidentally hurt her.
"You know darling, daddy once had his hair those colors." He told her as he watched her admire her tiny painted nails.
The little girl, whipped her head around, an incredulous look on her face as she looked at her father's natural hair color.
"Don't worry. There was a time mommy didn't believe me when she saw my natural hair color."
His hands skillfully managed to make her hair into a ponytail and he fastly secured it with a a red scrunchie.
"Speaking of mommy, we're going to pick her up from work and then go out as a family to the park. What do you say?"
The girl immediately nodded, clapping her hands cautiously, not wanting to mess up her still drying nails. Picking her up, Hongjoong placed her on his arm and kissed her forehead.
"You're such a little cutie. You get that from your mommy...."
Holding up his finger to his lips, he continued:
"Don't tell her though. Remember she doesn't like being called cute."
He made her pinky promise not to say anything.

Seonghwa had just finished helping your son brush his teeth and tucked him into bed. Kissing him goodnight, he made his way back into your room.
"Seonghwa?" You called out for him.
"Tell me love." He answered as he got into bed with you, his arm instantly pulling you against him.
"Do you think he's ready? Sleeping on his own from now on?" You asked him, full of worry.
Chuckling, he kissed the top of your head.
"Baby he's already 4 years old. I think it's perfectly fine for him to sleep in a room of his own."
You nodded softly, still unsure about it.
"Darling, his room is right next to ours and you saw how crazy and excited he was with picking out his bed and decorations. I think even he was anxious to move out of mommy and daddy's room." He teased you.
You huffed softly. "I miss my tiny baby."
"Oh how will you hold up when he goes to college?"
Right at that moment, a tiny head peeked into the room.
"Mommy." Your son cried out, his tiny legs running over and crawling up the bed and onto your lap.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" You asked.
"I wanna sleep here." He answered as he began making his way in between you two, getting under the covers and smiling at you two.
Seonghwa looked at you, about to say no but failing the moment he saw you pouting your lips. He looked back down at your son who had a similar puppy look on his tiny face.
Seonghwa had to admit defeat at his two babies ganging up on him.
"I guess one more night won't hurt. "

Even though his hands were already full with the two baby carriages, Yunho somehow still managed to open the door for you.
"I made sure the house would be clean and spotless for when you all got here."
Your hands covered your mouth as you saw the big "Welcome home" banner that Yunho had put up the day before.
"Oh my god." You exclaimed.
"Oh. Wait til you see the nursery. And I want you two to see it as well."
Leading the way, Yunho and you walked down the hall and stopped in front of the room you had originally picked out to be the nursery. Although you had both started decorating it, you never got to fully finish it after you got further along in the pregnancy. And Yunho really wanted it to be a surprise for you and the twins you were carrying.
"Close your eyes." He told you.
You did as he asked and waited patiently for his next instructions. Putting the carriers down for a second, Yunho opened the door and quickly brought the babies inside.
"Now you can look."
You gasped as you took in the beautiful pink nursery. The two cribs had the girl's respective names carved into them so it'd be easier to tell them apart. The walls were decorated with flowers and butterflies, and the diaper station was already installed in the corner. It made you tear up how much work he put into it.
"Oh my God Yunho....thank you so much." You sobbed.
"No.....thank you for giving me not one, but two blessings." He pecked your lips.
Turning back to the babies, he picked them up in his hands.
"All right, now how about we figure out who goes in which bed cause I'm already confused."

Yeosang calmly stirred the baby food before looking at the baby in front of him.
"Ok sweetheart time to eat. So....open up."
Yeosang held up a spoonful of the food, but his 5 month old son simply looked away towards where Seonghwa was standing.
"Hey no no no. Don't look at Uncle Seonghwa, look at me, look at daddy. Look at daddy's hand! He has food!"
Yeosang swirled the spoon around, mimicking airplane noises as he held up the spoon right in front of the baby's face. Still his son made no initiative to eat it.
"Pleeeease eat the food! Your mom will be so mad if she finds out I couldn't feed you." Yeosang was now whining and sulking at this point.
Rolling his eyes, Seonghwa went over and snatched the spoon away from him.
"You're doing this all wrong Yeosang. Watch and learn."
Taking Yeosang's place, Seonghwa cooed at the baby, holding up the spoon again.
"Mam-ma?" Seonghwa did his infamous aegyo.
Yeosang was about to say something, but then he saw his son giggle and happily accept the food. Yeosang's arms dropped to his sides.
"Seriously? He listens to you but not me? I'm his father!" Yeosang complained.
"You'll learn in time Yeosang. I'm already on baby number three while you're on your first. Give yourself time. You'll soon learn how easy it is."
He gave the utensils back to Yeosang so he could finish. Sighing softly, Yeosang attempted it
"Mam-ma?" He was embarrased but elated when he finally got to feed his son himself.

San had a huge smile plastered on his face. He was holding his 6 year old son's hand, the little toddler happily skipping about, sometimes landing big jumps that caused San to almost let go of him.
"Somebody is excited." You chuckled as you adjusted your 1.5 year old daughter on your arms.
"Of course he's excited. It's his first day of school. He's going to make a lot of friends and he's going to make us proud. Right buddy?"
The little boy nodded and almost ran off when he finally caught sight of the entrance to the school. San however was faster and caught him.
"Ok ok slow down bud. First things first."
Setting him down, he began opening his backpack.
"Do you have all your school books and utensils?"
San began to check that they didn't forget anything he would need. Satisfied that he had everything, San kissed his forehead.
"Say bye to mommy and your baby sister."
You put the girl down so she could give her older brother a kiss on the cheek, which he made a cringing face at but still accepted. Then he went over and kissed your cheek, saying a goodbye before sauntering off to class. You and San just looked at him, feeling somewhat nostalgic. Your thoughts were interrupted when your daughter let out a squeal and tried to run after her brother.
"Oh no way missy! You don't get to leave me for another 4 years......maybe 40." San giggled as he picked her up.

"27, 28, 29, 30! Ok! Ready or not here I come!"
Running down the hall, Mingi began his quest of finding out where his daughter was hiding at. He first checked under all the beds, knowing she would usually fit her tiny body underneath them.
"Ahh I see you're getting more clever now."
Chuckling, he went to the bathroom, sneaking in very quietly.
"Gotcha! Oh wait no." Mingi felt flustered when he didn't see two large eyes looking back at him when he pulled back the curtain.
"Seriously, where can that girl be?" He asked as he went back to the kitchen to search.
Puzzlement soon turned to panic as Mingi couldn't find her anywhere. He began running frantically all over the place, searching every corner and shelf, but still there was no trace of his little girl.
"Haha...ok princess you win..... so please come out now....." He called out, unable to mask the worry in his voice.
But the girl didn't respond and now he was freaking out.
"Oh my God! I lost my own daughter! What will I tell Y/N?! She's gonna kill me! I'm a horrible father! Sweetheart where are you?!"
He was on the verge of crying when he saw some shuffling coming from one of the curtains. Mingi walked over there and pulled the curtain back, relieved and shocked to find his daughter laying on the huge window sill, hugging her bunny plush, sleeping soundly. Mingi let out a sigh of relief.
"God what a scare you gave me." He said as he picked her up and carried her back to her room.
Gently, he layed down on his bed, his arms holding her against him. He smiled at her tiny sleeping figure.
"Oh look. You pout in your sleep just like your mom. Never noticed that."
Kissing her nose, he decided to take a nap alongside her as well, exhausted from the terrifying moment he just went through.

Wooyoung definitely wasn't having the best time of his life as he peeled the diaper open.
"Ew ew ew ew." Wooyoung looked away, not wanting to see the mess caused by his 3 month old son.
You however stood behind him, watching him and trying to direct him, although right now you were merely rolling your eyes at how dramatic he was being.
Wooyoung took a quick glance and groaned.
"Why are babies so gross?"
You smacked him on the head for that.
"You wanted a baby? Well now you have to learn to take care of him. I go back to work in one month and I sure as hell aren't leaving my kid in your care if you're not ready." You told him.
"Ok fine! Geez. Just don't pressure me. I'm new at this."
Wooyoung struggled to get the diaper off and rolled up to throw away, but once he did, it seemed he got passed the hard part. You then proceeded to show him how to wipe the baby's bottom and the importance of using the cream the doctor prescribed to prevent diaper rash or any infection. Wooyoung seemed to be doing fine, all he had left to do now was put on a clean diaper.
"AAAAHHHH!"
Wooyoung screeched loudly when your son decided it would be a fun idea to pee at that moment, landing right on Wooyoung's chest. You bursted out laughing, literally doubling over and slapping your knee.
"Oh my God! That was so funny!" You exclaimed.
"What the heck?! Why would you do that?! Attack your own father like that?!"
Grabbing the diaper, he handed it to you.
"Take care of your son."
"He's your son too Woo." You reminded him.
"He's only my son when he's a little angel and is well behaved. Right now, he's strictly yours."

"All right. Now here's what you're going to do. You're just going to kick that ball into that net as hard as you can."
Getting into position, Jongho waited for his son to kick the ball. The boy ran as fast as he could and kicked the ball, but not hard enough so it was easy for Jongho to catch it.
"Good job buddy! Just a little bit more."
Tossing the ball back, he once again got into a goalie position, watching in amusement as his son tried once again to kick it into the net but failed as it didn't even reach anywhere near it, the boy getting a little sad.
"It's ok. Don't worry about it. You'll get the hang of it soon." Jongho assured him.
"Daddy I want to try!" His sister, who up to now had been helping you prepare food, now stood up and ran over, not wanting to be left out.
"Ok baby girl, give it a try." He tossed the ball to her, which she surprisingly caught rather easily.
"What can you sissy little girl do?" Your son taunted her.
"Put a stick on it." She stuck her tongue out at him, which you quickly chastised her for.
The little girl surprised everyone when she kicked the ball so hard and fast that even Jongho couldn't block it, it just flew past him. Jongho was so surprised and soon he was happy.
"That's my little girl! Daddy's girl!" He shouted as he ran over to her and began parading her around the soccer field, already planning on having her take soccer lessons.
Your son on the other hand, stomped all the way back to where you were, huffing slightly. You hugged him.
"Don't worry. You know you'll always be mommy's boy."

Here me out, A Child AU of the brothers, with a Loving and Protective Older Brother MC. This MC would basically always be there for the brothers, helping them manage their “sins” (which are just childish flaws in this AU) and spoiling them.
MC gives them all the much needed affection and stability their absent parents (Can’t escape the daddy issues) deprived them from, and makes sure to create free-time for the boys so they can explore their hobbies, play with each other (And their beloved Older Brother, and just be kids in general.
Perhaps MC & the brothers parents are the CEO’s of multiple different worldwide company’s and don’t have time/don’t really care for them? And so they just have MC and the boys in a random mansion with maids/servants to manage the house and “care” for them, leaving MC to step up as the guardian for these boys despite being their older brother. (I imagine that the servants/other staff don’t do much in terms of anything personal, and only do stuff like clean the house, cook, give them distant lessons, stiffly help the boys get dressed if they need assistance, etc.)
In other words the boys would be screwed emotionally if Older Brother MC wasn’t there to make sure they were actually thriving and getting to act like kids.
However, this MC is also the only parental figure in these boys lives, and as such this MC gets very exhausted because at the end of the day they are taking care of 7 children who rely on him, so maybe you could write some good old hurt/comfort in the end to really to really pull it all together?
I really love this ask, y'all be sending me the best sibling prompts and I'm over here, having no idea wtf a proper sibling relationship is 😂 please keep them coming
I absolutely adore this prompt!
Warning: neglectful parents, hurt with comfort, long, angst
You jogged down the stairs, eyes darting around to find the least busiest servant. You started to loose hope until you spotted a maid carrying a laundry basket. You quickly rushed over to her.
"Are they home today? I have a party I was invited to and I was hoping they'd look after the kids."
"I'm sorry, master (Y/N) but your parents aren't home today and I'm afraid they won't be in until next Wednesday, we can always look after them-"
You tried to hide your disdain; the servants were helpful but they just did what was needed, they didn't bother with the emotional side of caring for your little brothers. Most of them being toddler's still, the youngest were just babies! They needed emotional care!
"thank you but I'll just do it myself."
The maid didn't say anything else, going on with her task. You entered the living room where you knew your brother's were. You found another servant watching them, bouncing Satan whilst he screamed and wailed.
Lucifer was glaring at the servant whilst he held Beezlebub's hands, stopping the little guy from chewing on his hand. Mammon was holding a sleeping belphegor. Asmodeus was padding at the servant, wanting his little brother but the servant just ignored him. Levithan was the first to notice you; he gripped the game controller he was playing with, waddling quickly over to you.
"I'll take it from here." You stated, causing all your brother's to turn to you.
The servant let out a sigh of relief, handing you Satan harshly. "I'll be back for my duties later."
Satan grabbed onto your shirt, sniffling and let out small noises of anger before finally settling down. You gently bounced him, kissing his little cat eared hat.
"did I take too long? I know they're not very nice to you, I'm sorry."
You knelt down, your brother's all coming to greet you. You gave each one an exaggerated kiss on the forehead. Asmo tugged at your sleeve, pouting.
"They wouldn't let me hold Satan, gimme."
You chuckled, letting asmo cradle his baby brother. Lucifer was fuming; evident from how he crossed his arms, an ugly angry face present on him.
"They're useless." Lucifer was the eldest out of your younger brother's, he was always protective of them and insulted by the servants lack of care.
Mammon crawled into your lap, belphie giving you grabby hands as he finally woke up. You gave him your finger; he happily grabbed it and held it close to his face.
"They're not useless, they just don't get the kind of care you need."
Lucifer just huffed. Tugging little Satan's hands off his brother's hair, poor asmo trying to to move too much. You knew you could always count on Lucifer to help you; afterall you were looking after 7 brothers.
Beel was gumming Levi's controller much to his distress. You quickly put the chew necklace in your little brothers mouth, The ginger happily going for it while the third eldest protectively clutched his controller.
suddenly, your phone rang. You answered the call, not even checking who it was.
"(Y/N), It's Michael, I'm here to speak on behalf of your father."
"Huh? He can't call me himself?" You raised a brow, adjusting your seat as you kept the phone close to your ear.
"Not right now, he's busy in his latest meeting - I'm sure you've been told that they won't be coming back until next Wednesday but there seems to be some issues and their stay will be extended."
"what's mom doing? Is she busy aswell?"
"she's staying in the hotel, her bussiness is done for now."
You grit your teeth, turning your head away from your brother's eyes. You could feel them watch you with their curious big eyes. But you refused to let them see you mad; though that didn't stop your mouth from moving without much thought.
"Michael, can you tell her to get her damn as- butt back home and stop using dad's trip as a vocation! She's got kids to look after-!"
"my apologies, I'll tell her you request her presence but I cannot promise-"
Your buzzed aggressively, you checked to see who it was and it was another student from the university you went to. Well- you went to it through online school as your brother's took top priority.
"I get it, I need to go, I have another call."
He couldn't even say goodbye, you swapped the call. It ended your call with Michael automatically.
"hello? What's up?"
"(Y/N) you coming tonight? I was telling people you were coming so you better come."
"I can't- my parents aren't home so I have to look after my brother's." You sighed, your mood deflating.
"don't you have like maids or something? Just let them do it! You're always looking after your brother's, just come over!"
"you know I can't! The servants don't give them the emotional attention they need, they're still young and growing! I can't just let them be treated like that-"
"uggh!!! You're always like this, I shouldn't of invited you, Everyone knows you're just some bore with no life, I thought you could actually prove people wrong."
You wanted to chew them out but you could see your brothers upset faces in the corner of your eye. you hung up, turning to comfort them but they caught you off guard.
"you go! We'll be good for the maids! I swear, I won't make (Y/N) upset!" Mammon cried out, clutching his little brother.
"I'll watch over them, go have fun." Lucifer chimed in, adjusting his hold on Satan.
You shook your head. Internally yelling at your peer for being so loud. "I'm fine being right here, you guys are more important than any party."
Asmo furiously shook his head. "No!! Parties are cool and you're cool! Go!"
"Parties aren't all that, I've seen enough of them in movies."
You've been one to one. Looking after your brother's took full time once you were old enough but you didn't need to do things like that. You could easily dance around in a room with music and snacks. You definitely didn't need to do that - it was just some experience people did for fun. You're fun! You can have your own fun!
You had a life and was the most interesting person ever. Totally. Definitely. 100%! It wasn't like you were actually looking forward to it and really wanted to meet your peers in person for once....actually make friends and let yourself be you for once.....
Chubby hands squished your cheeks. You looked up to see baby Beel was holding up his chew necklace; wanting you to chew on it. It was his favourite, belphie picked it out for him and he's been keeping close to his chest since. Belphie was the one squishing your cheeks, trying to get your attention.
"how did your face get wet..?"
That's when it hit you. You were crying. You hastily wiped them away, forcing a big smile.
"I'm fine! See!"
Suddenly, a controller smacked you in the forehead. You yelped. Levi was frowning, his little hands for clenching and unclenching.
"THEY'RE JUST NORMIES!!! YOU'RE TOO COOL TO CRY OVER THEM!"
You gasped, not expecting him to act out like this. You were so use to his timid and shut off nature you weren't sure he could even raise his voice like that. Satan stirred away, confused on why his brother was yelling.
You didn't expect that to hit you so hard. You bawled out into fat tears, hugging mammon, Belphie and Beel. It wasn't long for the rest of the brothers to come to your side, hugging you as you cried. You hurriedly hugged them all, kissing each of their chubby cheeks.
Asmo, mammon and levi were all crying with you. Each of them returning a kiss to your cheeks. You always kissed their cheeks or forhead to make them happy. To have them do the same to you made your heart soften.
"I'm so happy you're all my brother's....thank you."

So, in the event, Rook has shown that he just carries rope with him. You may do whatever you wish with that information 👀
This was an ask from a few...weeks ago? I don’t remember exactly how long this was sitting in my inbox because I was waiting for the perfect time to answer it (//∇//)
Rook had been a very kind and helpful senior to you this year. You’ll be lying if you say that you didn’t think he was a bit strange like the others, but he has that certain charm in him that makes it difficult for you to complete look away from his direction. Besides, it got to the point where you just got used to him and even thought his actions were somehow entertaining...If you were the spectator, rather than the target that is.
Rook is a very doting person as well, you are by no means an exception to this peculiarity of his. He’ll appear when you least expected it, often startling you out of your skin just by a mere greeting alone. He would always talk to you as if he’s reciting a poem ever so often, making you think that you may or may not have completely lost his point here, it’s almost like he’s talking in a different language. He always acts like this towards you, and to everyone else as well, you could never know what he’s thinking or what he wants in the first place. Part of you just thought that he may just have been built differently than others, but then again, Rook is an elusive individual to begin with so everything could all be an act in the first place.
Long store short; you were both fascinated and terrified of this man.
But as strange and conflicting your relationship with Rook is, you still respected the guy as your senior to some extent. Say what you want about the the Pomefiore Vice Dorm Leader but you can’t deny his wide range of capabilities. When you are at a lost for things that you think you can’t do, he was the one who provided you with the advices and help that you needed during those times. Before you knew it, you had already owe him in many ways and yet, Rook had never once asked for anything in return.
“Worry not, mon petite chérie. For I am only doing of what I must.” He would say to you as an excuse, often filling you with guilt sometimes. Especially whenever he would ever so gently pat your head, chuckling to himself as he towers down upon you. “Seeing the beauty in your smile is enough to make my own heart flutter in happiness. Oui, believe me when I say that it’s that marvelous.”
Huh...So, people who accepts things like that as payment still exists in this time and age too. Forgive yourself from being too suspicious of his behavior though, you just don’t think a single smile is worth all that trouble but you guessed this was just another “agree-to-disagree” kind of situation. Who knows? The two of you did grew up in two different upbringings. Or quite literally, two different worlds.
Anyways, although you respected his choices after all this time, you thought it was just common sense to at least provide him with a simple gift in his birthday. You saw how everyone else such as Epel, Vil, and Trey were preparing their own gifts, so you don’t think he’ll be able to reject yours this time. You made your way through the Pomefiore lounge where the party was being held, but was unable to see a single glimpse of your peculiar senior around. It was a lively party and he may be busy with the other dorm residents, so you felt a bit out of place and proceeded to ask people you personally knew about his whereabouts.
“Rook? I was talking to him earlier but now, I have no idea where he went.” Vil said with a sigh as he crossed his arms. “That guy is as elusive as always, even I wouldn’t know exactly what’s running through that mind of his. It puts me in an unsettling position actually.”
“But it’s his birthday for goodness sake, he’s the main protagonist of the day. He should be the one to at least entertain the guest out here, not hiding in plain shadows, seriously.” You laughed nervously as Vil ranted in irritation, huffing by the end. He then glanced at you and soon took notice of the gift you’re holding. “If that gift is for him then, just leave it at his room. It’s unlocked, I believe. We stacked the other gifts he got earlier there too so it wouldn’t clog up the lounge.”
“O-Oh, is that so...Thank you very much.” Thus, ended your conversation with the Dorm Leader with a bow, watching as he walked away saying how Epel had been consuming way too much sugar for the night. With no more leads to follow, you chose to go with Vil’s suggestion and headed out to his room, still at a lost for where your senior could be.
It was true, the moment you spotted the room and turned the doorknob around, it easily spun open. “...Pardon my intrusion...” You slowly said as you took a peak before entering, unsure if anyone was actually inside. There was no one, just some elagant room design as expected with the Pomefiore dorm, with neat furnitures decorated all around. You could feel your own heart cry when you compare to your own dorm which trademark lies within the ghost residents.
You felt slightly anxious, it was your first time visiting his room like this so you couldn’t help but to gawk at some things you’ve never seen before. This was your chance to explore another man’s room, albeit only for a few seconds and by the looks of it, it really hits different that of Ace or Deuce. It has the exact same smell as Rook and the sense of familiarity was somehow calming, probably because you’re so used to being in close proximity with him now. His belongings were all well-organized, the books are neatly stacked on the bookshelves, along with some...questionable collection of bows and arrows stuck on the wall. You also noticed a spare hat and a single telescope lying on his desk, you could ask what it was for, but you preferred to keep the question for yourself.
You shook your head eventually, quickly but carefully prancing inside to place your gift on his desk. Finally, your quest has been conquered, although looking around, the other presents that Vil mentioned was nowhere to be found. Maybe he has them already opened and kept at a certain storage of some sort? Anyways, that wasn’t your problem now, you did what you needed to do, it was your time to bounce out of this room, feeling as if you’re invading too much of his personal privacy. Rook did told you that he never liked that in a person.
...Until, something else caught your eye.
You stopped, eyes blinking repeatedly at the slight tear in the wallpaper near his bed. There was something hidden inside, no, it doesn’t seem like it’s trying to hide at all. It was deliberately placed in a place like that for everyone to see. So, like a cat overwhelmed by curiosity, you stepped close to inspect it, even going as far as stepping on the neatly draped bed sheets of his to get a closer look.
“Eh...?” It was a mass of pictures of almost everything and everyone you can think of upon coming to this school. It was stuck inside the wall like a collection of some sort and it took you a while to actually get what all of this meant. “There’s so many pictures...Pfft...!”
You ended up laughing at yourself for feeling so tense, you honestly felt stupid for the amount of suspense you gave yourself. Of course, this was definitely something that Rook Hunt will do, what did you think it was going to be? Sure, it is creepy to think that someone is keeping tabs at everyone and everything through photography but this is just normal in this school. At least, to those who knew Rook to some extent, it’s not really a big deal nowadays, especially at this school. Anyways, you calmed your laughter down and stared back at the pictures to actually admire them as despite it all, every one of them are all well-taken.
Humming throughout your exploration, you thought it would be interesting to see if you could spot yourself in one of these photos. You looked around and at first, it was tough since you weren’t anywhere in the photos that the wallpaper could reveal but after a while you found a glimpse of your own face at the very edge. However, the tear in the wallpaper stops there so it filled you with disappointment to not be able to see the photo he took of you. “That’s a bummer...” You pouted slightly.
However, combined with overwhelming curiosity, your mischievous side couldn’t help but to come out. You peaked through the small hole inside the wallpaper and confirmed that there is more, as you expected Rook would have, just not visible from your angle. You didn’t want to damage anything but you carefully slipped your fingers in the small opening, trying to get a better look of the picture. You were mainly trying to shine light on them, just a little bit more and you could make out of its content. It got your heart pumping somehow, eager to see what kind of photo you were in.
“Bonjour~”
Screaming almost immediately due to panic and shock, you made the mistake of instinctively gripping his wallpaper tight, dragging them down completely by accident. You turned around, face flushed and clutched your chest as your heart beats so fast that it feels like it could jump out at any moment. “R-Ro-Rook-san!?” You stammered out, your butt hitting the bed while your legs shook. “W-Wha-When...!?”
Rook only gave out a chuckle as you frantically try to calm your nerves, which was nearly impossible after the stunt that he just pulled. You knew he loved doing this and to think you’d be used to it by now, but this one felt so different than the other times you were startled by him. He was so close to you with that greeting, too close in fact. Just where the hell does he keep coming from, you didn’t even hear a single sound from your surroundings. Rook stood straight before glancing over at the mess you had realized you made when his expression turned that of worry.
You were still gripping onto the ruined wallpaper at this point so, you gasped and quickly turned around, preparing for any damage you may have caused. However, at that moment, you stopped once your eyes had finally caught what kind of picture were inside those wallpapers all along.
“Aah...To think mon chére fleur herself would be the one to unravel my collection! How embarrassing~!” Rook said, placing a hand on his slowly heating up his cheeks. He bats an eye to your direction, looking all embarrassed as you stared, unblinking at his work. He soon smirked and chuckled darkly, leaning in closer to you from behind, in which you shivered at. “...But how does it look in your perspective? Aren’t they all beautiful?”
Yes, they were harmless pictures, that’s all there is supposed to be on it. But these pictures striked a nerve in you, one such that you didn’t know could cause this much wave of alarming fear in your body.
They were harmless but they were not normal in the slightest. For almost all of what the wallpaper had revealed was all about you, and only you that it makes you sick to the stomach. Everything that you remember doing in your daily routine had been taken into consideration, from a picture of you yawning as you wake up in the morning, to a picture of you sleeping peacefully at night. Pictures of you seemingly eating, walking, talking, everything that you’ve been doing is pasted on the same wall before you, all taken in such high resolution. If that wasn’t enough, even a few photos of you in the nude was in there, bathing and changing, you unconsciously wrapped your hands around yourself as goosebumps quickly formed.
Rook had literally been watching your every movements, documenting your life with a camera and capturing everything, including things that hits way too close. Deeply disturbed, your eyes tried to glance everywhere but the pictures, only to find no escape to them. Some pictures had even been tampered with before taking the shot, like that one photo where his hands shows his hands deliberately spreading your legs for the camera as you slept. You shivered, unconsciously thinking about that other one where it was your breasts that was fully out for the world to see and oh, god...That one with your sleeping face covered with a suspicious white liquid, you almost gagged at the mental image.
“...W-What is this...” You slowly looked up at Rook with fear in your eyes, trembling like a leaf as the same guy looked down upon you with a chilling smile. It was honestly too nauseating that you instinctively brought a hand to your mouth, just in case something does come out.
“Beauty, my Love.” Rook purred closer to you, his eyes brimming with desire. “Your beauty.”
He caught your chin in a gentle yet tight grip. “I had it preserve in a memory that I would forever see. Just keeping them in my mind alone was not enough.” He said, closing in on you on his bed, preventing any possible escape routes. “...For I am a greedy man.”
And with that, you found yourself in his bind, pinning you down on the bed with your hands on each side of your head. “Now...The reason why you invaded my sanctuary was...?” Rook asked but he was not expecting you to answer at all. Instead, his eyes glanced to the side, eyeing the gift you left on his desk. “...Ah, of course. Vil must’ve given you permission to hand your gift in.”
You were as stiff as a rock, too tense to even act and move. The hands on your wrists doesn’t seem too tight but a feeling in your gut screams at you to not even try if you didn’t want to get hurt. You were left gulping down your own nervousness as Rook turned back to you with the same smile. “Merci. I’ll be sure to treasure whatever you have given me.” He whispered as he leaned closer, giving you a delicate kiss on the temple in which you squeaked at. “...But nonetheless, you trespassed on someone else’s territory, petite proie. A predator’s territory, on top of that.”
“I-I’m sor-“
“Non, an apology is not what I need. Someone as beautiful as you should not make that kind face.” Rook cuts you off, before suggestively licking his lips. He sat up, confident enough to let go of your wrist, knowing fully well that you wouldn’t have the guts to push him off. He straddled above your stomach, which left you confused and wary to wonder what he was planning to do. However, looking back at him, your eyes widened in caution as he suddenly pulled out a long and thick rope, one that would certainly burn your skin if you struggle too much. Where in the hell did he... “Lift your head up high and reap what you have sowed. That is the beauty that can justify your crimes.”
“Now...” You breathe heavily as he tightened his hold on the rope, biting his lip eagerly. You can’t even imagine how much he has planned inside his head. It made you visit the terrifying possibility that he was ready for this moment from the very beginning, curiated and planned. Your heart drops at the thought, if that is really the case, then...Just how much? How much further into the future did he plan exactly? “Allow me to indulge myself to this fine opportunity you gave me, beloved Trickster.
“...A fine opportunity, indeed. Beautifully so.”

______
“Hey,” said a voice at the door. I jumped and looked over the top of the computer screen, TJ smirking. “I scare you?”
“Pft, no,” I said. I typed out the rest of the sentence, TJ wandering over to the leather chair in my office JJ normally used to read in. “I’m kinda in the middle of something. Can it wait?”
“Oh. Sorry,” he said as he went to stand. I waved him back down and shook my head.
“Read a book or something. I’ll be another few minutes,” I said. He turned his body back towards the bookcase, picking out one on homes. He flipped a few times and I glanced over at him, going back to the screen. I wrote out a few more lines and read it over, pretty satisfied with it. I set a reminder for myself to come back to it later and spun around in my chair. “So. What’s up?”
“What are you working on?” asked TJ as he flipped through the book still.
“Actor stuff,” I said.
“You always work on actor stuff with parchment paper next to you?” he asked. I looked over my shoulder and saw the paper and envelopes, TJ probably recognizing them. “Writing letters?”
“If you must know, yes, I am. I was. I prefer to handwrite them but I started this one on the road this week so I’ll write it down later,” I said. “So. What’s up?”
“Y/N started doing that, writing letters for the kids,” said TJ as he put the book back. “After the accident and all.”
“Yes, I know. What’s with the intrigue?” I asked.
“Well, you’re a sap. I needed some advice,” he said. I rolled my eyes and he cocked his head. “Oh yes. Clearly you’re a hardass.”
“Sometimes I miss the day you came over the first time and were scared shitless of me. Good times,” I said with a smile. I nodded and he got up to shut the door before taking a seat. “What are you up to?”
“Well...it’s complicated,” he said. “Like supernatural level complicated.”
“The show?” I asked and he shook his head. “TJ, buddy are you okay?”
“I’m fine. I just…” he said. He reached into his back shorts pocket and pulled out a manila envelope. He handed it over and I opened it up, pulling out a few sheets of papers and photos. I recognized the face immediately, TJ sitting up on top of the desk. I smiled and TJ laughed. “You never seen baby pictures of Y/N?”
“No. We thought they were all lost. There were a few things from her parents we found but only a few boxes and her teddy bear. A few pictures but none of when she was little,” I said, smiling at the one of her in a onesie passed out asleep on her dad. “He looks young.”
“Her parents were older than you guys, right?” he asked.
“Oh yeah, a lot older. Just only ever saw them on that home video. Y/N had a picture once she said but some dickhead foster parent burned it,” I said. I pouted and felt TJ’s gaze on me.
“I get angry about stuff that happened to her too sometimes,” he said.
“Just don’t stay angry,” I said and he nodded. I turned my head at one of the sheets and went wide eyed. “Is this her birth certificate? How the Hell did you get this? It looks like the original.”
“It is. Long story short, I’m working on a renovation right now on the east side of town. Out in the suburbs, average home, nothing like this place or even ours to be honest. They needed an architect for like two days at most. Older couple. I got talking to them and we come to realize, I’m standing in Y/N’s old house.”
“What?”
“Yeah. It’s the one she grew up in. It’s her house,” he said.
“Small fucking world,” I said, leaning back in my seat. “I thought they ditched everything in the house after it went up for auction.”
“So did I. So did Y/N. Apparently, this couple packed up a lot of the personal stuff cause they felt wrong about throwing it out. They shoved it in some bins in the basement and forgot about it until this week. Jensen, I got bins full of photos and awards she won as a kid and stuff of her parents and did you know she was a ghostbuster for Halloween? I didn’t know that.”
“Neither did I,” I said. “Why not tell her you found this stuff?”
“Part of me is scared that she knew, that she didn’t want to deal with it. Maybe she wanted to shove it away. I don’t know. You know her as well as I do. What do you think?”
“I know she almost cried over a teddy bear when she was seventeen. I know when she saw that home video she almost cried. But I know both those times it was happy tears that would have happened. You know as well as I do this would mean the world to her.”
“I know it would which is why I need your help. How do we tell her?”
“Oh so you want to make a big elaborate thing out of it all I see.”
“I bet I could get at least your sappy letters level of waterworks,” he said.
“I’ve taught you well,” I laughed. “We’ll come up with something. Oh and I got something for you.”
I reached into a desk drawer and smiled as I pulled out an envelope. I held it out to him, TJ staring as he saw “Thomas James” written on the front.
“What’s this?” he asked.
“Always keep an ace up your sleeve,” I said as I stood. I pushed it against his chest and walked past him. “It’s your first letter kid.”
“What?” he asked quietly. I turned around and smiled. “But I’m not…”
“Yeah, you are. Your dad’s a shithead and I don’t know when or if he’ll get his act together. Either way, you deserve better. I ain’t perfect. Not even close. But I do know you love your kids and for me that means all five of them. We don’t really care about blood relations around here if you haven’t picked up on that by now,” I said. He stared down at the letter and back at me. He nodded quietly and I laughed. “Read it in private and when you’re ready, we’ll figure out something for our girl.”
“Jensen. Why am I getting this now?” he asked as I reached to open the door.
“Cause you asked me for help on something that will bring my daughter joy. Cause you love her as much as the rest of us. Cause I felt like we’re at that place now where we can talk like this with no hesitation. Maybe cause you caught me writing letters and I was in a sappy mood. The letters aren’t always about a birthday or a wedding. Sometimes it’s just moments. Oh and you gotta work on your hand writing kid. Your kids are never gonna be able to read your chicken scratch.”
“I don’t…” he said as I smiled. “I tried writing one once and it sucked.”
“Considering your children can’t read yet, I think you got the time to figure it out,” I said. “Arrow and I are going golfing in a few. Wanna come?”
“I would but I have swim lessons with Allie. She’s getting pretty good. Y/N worries.”
“Never noticed,” I said. “Enjoy it. They’re only little once.”
“I will. Say hey to Arrow for me, Jensen.”
Two Hours Later
Arrow groaned as she sat down in the passenger seat of the cart. She took a swig from her water bottle and raised an eyebrow at me when she caught me staring.
“What?” she said, a little snippy.
“Can we try that nicer?” I asked. She rolled her eyes and sat back, crossing her arms. “Arrow, if you don’t want to golf with me today why’d you ask if we could go?”
“I thought we were going mini-golfing,” she said.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” I asked. She shrugged and I turned in my seat. “Arrow…”
“You were like...excited about it and stuff,” she said. “It’s fine.”
“Well as good at this as you are, I’d much rather we go do something we both find fun. Okay, munchkin?”
She shrugged and I drove up the path, headed back to the clubhouse.
Twenty minutes later she was in the front seat of the car with her head against the window and eyes shut. I frowned and reached over to touch her forehead. It was warm and bit sweaty but she popped right up.
“What?” she snipped again. I looked at her for a moment before it clicked.
“Not feeling great?” I asked. She shook her head and I smiled. “Okay. I know just how to fix that.”
“Not something you can fix,” she mumbled.
“Oh, this I know how to fix. Trust me.”
“How’s that feel?” I asked when we were curled up on the couch in the TV room about half an hour later.
“Better,” she said, a light blush over her face as she held the heating pad to herself.
“We don’t gotta talk about it if you don’t want to,” I said.
“My friends dads don’t really talk to them about you know, periods,” she said with a wince.
“That’s too bad. They’d be able to make ‘em feel better if they did,” I said. “You’re already more of an expert on this than I am but your mom and older sisters say after the first year you really start getting the hang of what to expect and all that.”
“You can stop cramps?” she asked, happy for a moment.
“No, you can’t do that. But you learn what day it’s gonna happen and you learn what medicine works best for you, what makes you feel better best. Y/N got one of those heat pad stuffed animals for your sister. I hear heat helps.”
“Dad, this is kinda gross to talk about you know,” she said.
“Like I said, we don’t ever got to talk about it if you don’t want. Just...know you can.”
“I got that from when I got it and we had that talk. I don’t need it again,” she said. I held up my hands and returned my attention to the TV. “Dad. I’m sorry. That was mean.”
“S’okay. You got a lot going on right now inside you. I’ve lived with women a long time. I’m used to it at this point,” I said.
“Why does Zepp not have to deal with this?” she asked.
“Well...he also can’t make a baby. You got that on him.”
“A baby and cramps. Thanks genetics,” she said. I chuckled and she crawled over, using my leg as a pillow. “Why do you boys get everything? They get to not have periods and stuff.”
“The grass is always greener on the other side, kiddo. I’m sure some days, especially in the mornings, your brother would much rather be you right now,” he said.
“Huh?” she said.
“What grade do you take health class again?”
“Eighth,” she said.
“Oh. Okay. We’ll save that one. Better yet, you’ll find out when you’re thirty,” I said.
“Dad I know what sex is. Biology class. Make a baby,” she said. “Duh.”
“Oh really? Didn’t realize you were so grown up and all now,” I said, ruffling her hair. “What if you want to not make a baby?”
“They you don’t do it. Duh,” she said.
“Right, right. We’re gonna get you a book to explain all this to you,” I said, Arrow rolling her eyes. JJ wandered inside, hands behind her back, lifting up onto her tip toes. “I see someone wants to borrow the car.”
“Please? I’m just going over Tom’s,” she said.
“You’re going over the Pad’s to make out with your boyfriend you mean.”
“Tom is so not my boyfriend for the like, gazillionth time,” she said.
“Why you going to his junior prom then? As his date?”
“We’re just friends. Like, everybody does it,” she said. “I’m his best friend, like of course we’d go together.”
“What do you think? Is Tom just a friend?” I asked Arrow, a shit eating grin on her face.
“She doesn’t know-” said JJ, a loud crash happening somewhere in the house. I hopped up, the two of them following after.
“Zepp,” I called, jogging up the stairs. “Zeppelin.”
I rounder the corner into his room, spotting him on the floor, with a hand on his head. He looked away and I knelt down, putting a hand over his.
“Let me see,” I said. He winced and I pulled his hand back, spotting a gash on his forehead. “JJ, get me a towel please. Quickly.”
I heard her leave and I saw his desk chair flopped over on the ground.
“We told you not to stand on that thing, Zeppelin…” I said, seeing the spot of red on the corner of his desk.
“Sorry. It’s just a cut. I’m okay,” he said.
“I’m not mad, honey. Promise you won’t do it again?” I asked as JJ came back and handed me a towel.
“Yeah. Don’t have to worry about that,” he said. I put the towel against his head and looked at his eyes.
“Did you pass out?” I asked.
“No,” he said. “I’m okay.”
“I know you are tough guy. We’re still going to urgent care,” I said. “JJ tell Tom to come over here. It’s getting late and I don’t want Arrow home alone.”
“We’re not going with you?” she asked.
“Do you really want to go sit in a waiting room for a few hours?” I asked. I helped Zepp to his feet, glad when he didn’t stumble. She shrugged and I turned to Arrow. She looked worried and I pursed my lips. “Well if you want to come, let’s go. Otherwise, JJ stay with your sister.”
I walked out ahead of them, Zeppelin groaning when I took his arm to walk down beside him. I sighed and left them in the kitchen while I grabbed my phone and wallet.
“Alright,” I said. I shooed them out to the garage, the three of them piling in their usual spots. I put the radio on low as I drove, a call coming in quick on the dash. I pressed the button on the wheel and forced a happy voice. “Hi hon-”
“JJ just texted me that her brother hit his head and he’s gushing blood everywhere,” she said. I shot her a look in the passenger seat and she mouthed sorry. “Jensen.”
“De he is not gushing blood. He has a little cut. We’re driving to urgent care right now,” I said.
“Mom, I’m fine,” he said from the back.
“Were you standing on that chair again?” she asked.
“On the way home, we’ll stop at home depot, get a step ladder. Problem solved,” I said. “I don’t even think he has a concussion. We’re just being careful is all. Alright? How’s your parents?”
“Fine. I’m gonna head home early,” she said.
“De. We’re fine. I’ll let you know as soon as he gets checked out, okay? Nothing you can do in the meantime,” I said. “Say hi to your folks.”
“Jay are you sure…” she said.
“Honey. I am absolutely 100% positive. He is fine. I promise,” I said.
“Alright. I’ll talk to you guys later okay? Love you.”
“Love you too,” I said before I hung up.
“You’re totally freaking out on the inside,” said JJ.
“Thank you for texting your mother. Guess who’s not hanging out with Tom tonight now,” I said.
“When was I even gonna go?” she said, rolling her eyes.
“How you holding up back there bud?” I asked as I got on the highway.
“I’m fine for the millionth time,” he said.
“Mhm. Sure you are.”
Three Hours Later
“Hey doc,” I said as we finally were getting out of there with a small bandage on Zeppelin’s head and an ointment for the cut in my hand. “I mentioned to the nuse, he uh, he had a head injury when he was a toddler. It was a hard hit was all, no concussion or anything. They told us to watch out for more of them is all and I know it was just a smack to the head tonight but he’s okay, right?”
“He shows no signs of anything aside from a cut and some bruising. It doesn’t warrant an MRI,” he said.
“I know. I just…” I said, trailing off when I saw Y/N’s friend Kelly walk by in the background. “Kelly.”
“Mr. Ackles! Everything okay?” she asked.
“Zepp hit his head tonight,” I said.
“You do an MRI?” she asked the other doctor. He seemed a little miffed but shoved the chart in her hands and she rolled her eyes as he left. “He’s kind of an asshole, don’t take offense.”
“None taken,” I said. “They said he’s fine but...you know.”
“Send the little shrimp back here and I’ll take care of him,” she said.
“I always knew I liked you,” I said. I got Zeppelin from the waiting room and she sent him off for a quick scan, letting me wait in the hall just outside. “Y/N said you were going for pediatrics if I remember?”
“Yeah. Kids are less of complainers than adults typically,” she said. “How’s Y/N? We haven’t hung out in a bit. Her babies still adorable?”
“Like always,” I said. I smiled and she looked a little a bashful. “It’s okay that you watched my show, Kelly. I’ve always known.”
“Really?” she asked, pursing her lips. “Y/N promised she wouldn’t ever tell you.”
“Oh she didn’t. The you saying holy fucking shit to Y/N when you saw me in the backyard for the first time kind of gave it away,” I said.
“Yeah, subtly isn't really my strong suit,” she said. I chuckled and she shrugged. “To be fair, like all of our friends think you’re the hot dad.”
“I know. It’s great to tease Y/N with,” I said. “Mind if I ask you a question while we’re waiting.”
“Shoot,” she said.
“Y/N. Why were you her friend? You know that’s a hard shell to crack. She doesn’t have a lot of them and most of those are TJ’s. Nothing wrong with that. Just wonder what made you say hi to the new girl at school.”
“This isn’t going to sound great but basically I had this ex boyfriend. He was like a dick once I told him I wasn’t ready to like, you know, do it yet and we broke off and like six months go by and then I had my new boyfriend at the time but this old ex was still like a super dickhead to pretty much every girl in school that wasn’t super popular. He was...he bullied her the first few days.”
“I never knew that,” I said.
“It was only a couple days. By the third day, she was fed up with it and snapped back at him. He didn’t like that so he shoved her and I just walked over and told him to back off of her. She just looked so...not scared but like, defeated you know?”
“Unfortunately yes, I do.”
“I guess we just talked about how much of a dick he was and we sat together at lunch and she eventually warmed up to me by the time we graduated.”
“She liked you before that. Trust me,” I said. “You’re a good kid. You’re gonna be a good doctor.”
“I hope so,” she said.
“So super fan. I gotta ask cause I also love to torture my children’s friends. Sam girl or the other one?” I said, giving her a smirk.
“I’m not answering that,” she said.
“In a way you did,” I chuckled. “Shoot Y/N a text sometime. We’ll get you hooked up with some con tickets sometime.”
“That’d be so cool!” she said. “If it’s no trouble.”
“No trouble at all,” I said as the door opened and Zepp came out. “How’d it go?”
“No bleeding,” said the tech that walked out and handed a slide to Kelly. She walked over to a wall and stuck it up to a light, nodding her head.
“He’s good. You guys are all set,” she said.
“Thanks Kelly.”
“I want pizza,” said Arrow about five minutes later as I texted De that everything was good from the truck.
“I want tacos,” said Zeppelin.
“I want pasta,” said JJ, looking at me. “What’s for dinner?”
“Well since we all agree it’s so simple,” I said with a chuckle. “How about cause at least two of you have felt crappy today we splurge a little and don’t tell mom.”
“Like what?” asked JJ.
“We will get italian food and tacos and the most unhealthy dessert we can find on the menu,” I said. “Eat whatever you want tonight.”
“Don’t we do that always?” asked Arrow.
“Yeah but dad’s a on a diet,” said JJ. I rolled my eyes and she held up her hands.
“I wasn’t on a diet. I had a cholesterol test and didn’t want to get yelled at by the doctor thank you very much,” I said. “But that was yesterday and I’m a free man now. We can go home and have leftover chicken salad if that’s what you guys want.”
“Not at all what we said, right guys?” said JJ.
“That’s what I thought you’d say. Seatbelts and someone look up some menus on their phones.”
One Hour Later
JJ burped from her seat, Arrow letting out one herself, the pair of them giggling as they dug into their desserts. Zeppelin shockingly didn’t want his so I saved it in the freezer for later. I figured the pain meds they’d given him had finally kicked in. I was cleaning up at the sink, the girls in the movie room when he came up behind me and gave me a hug.
“Feel any better?” I asked. I spun around and returned it, a little surprised when he snuggled into my chest. I ran my hand over his head and he took a deep breath.
“I’m really tired, dad,” he said.
“That’s the medicine they gave you. How about an early bedtime tonight and you’ll wake up feeling a lot better in the morning.”
“Okay,” he said, still not moving.
“Alright, alright,” I said. I moved back and squatted down, hoisting him up, legs wrapping around my back. “You better not be taller than me or else this is gonna get real difficult once you hit your growth spurt.”
“Okay,” he mumbled, resting his head on my shoulder.
“I gotcha,” I said. I got him upstairs and set him down on his bed, Zeppelin out by the time I tugged his covers down. I pulled them up over top and kissed his head. “Night kiddo.”
I turned off the lights and went downstairs, tidying up and pouring myself a glass of whiskey. It burned a bit but the good kind, not too overwhelming. I was about to head to the movie room when I caught something on the floor. I picked up the note and smiled.
DAD CHECK FRIDGE
“Well what did you leave us,” I said to myself, opening it up. There was a casserole dish with a note taped to it and I pulled it out.
Made an extra serving of chicken penne (tons of cheese for you). Just stick in the oven and I figure you four can survive another day without mom. Tell Zepp to stop trying to crack his skull open while you’re at it. Love ya. - Y/N
“What would we do without you and your mother,” I chuckled. I heard someone calling my name and I poured more whiskey into my drink. “Please don’t be twilight again. Please please don’t be that again.”
I carried the glass over to the tv room, the girls bundled up on either side of the couch. I didn’t make a face when I saw the sparkly vampire on the screen and was pretty proud of myself. They both started to laugh and I shook my head.
“Dad we know you hate it,” said JJ. “We wanna watch one of your movies.”
“Well well, tonight is a good time to introduce you two to a little movie called Tommy Boy.”
“Night giggles,” I said, the girls heading up to bed after the movie. I stretched out and went to my room, going out on the balcony and taking a seat outside, closing my eyes as I leaned back. “So. Got another question for you guys if you’re in the mood for listening tonight. TJ found some photos and some of your guys stuff. Not quite sure what the best way to give it to her is though. I feel like some fanfare should be involved. Nothing crazy but you know, make it special. Any genius ideas and I’d love to hear them.”
I took a sip from my drink, a light breeze in the night air.
“Someday I’d appreciate it if I got a little more feedback. Just saying,” I said. “She was a cute kid. Still cute but you know what I mean. Just want to get this one right.”
I sat outside for a while, texting for a bit until I got a bit too cold. I locked up and walked around the house, arming the security system before I climbed into bed. I groaned as I plopped down, barely getting my phone on the charger before I was curling up to sleep. My eyes wandered over to the phone when a text from TJ popped up.
Read the letter. Thanks. Means more than you know. Honestly.
Just don’t forget what I said, k? Night TJ
Night Jensen
“Now if only the other three could find ones like that, then we’d be pretty damn lucky,” I said to myself. I chuckled when I saw one last text pop up. I rolled over in bed to De’s side and used her pillow, snuggling down into it. Three more days and she’d be home again to help stop the crazy. Or at least slow it down.
The Next Day
“Alright so I came up with the perfect way to do it last night,” said TJ as he walked into the gym where I was running on the treadmill.
“I hope you knew how to do it before considering you have a child or else this is going to be very awkward.”
“Smartass,” he said.
“One of my best qualities,” I said as I hopped off. “Hit me with it.”
“A letter,” he said with a smile.
“You want to write her one go right ahead but…” I said with a shrug. “It’s definitely important but it’s not a letter kind of thing for me.”
“You literally write sappy letters for your children’s life changing events all the time.”
“TJ. I didn’t make these things or buy them for her. Her parents took those pictures. I can’t write a letter. It’s not my gift to give.”
“It’s not a gift though. It’s-”
“TJ, I’m not writing one. You don’t force that shit. Not the important shit. You should write her a letter and tell her how you found the stuff. That’d be really sweet.”
“So you don’t want to be involved in this now,” he said. I took a deep breath and stared at him. “I’m just trying to understand why you’re changing your mind.”
“I’m not her dad, TJ,” I said, putting my hands on my hips. “I’m not the guy in those photos. It feels awkward if I did that. Those are her memories. You found them. This is totally your thing. You do whatever you want or I’ll help but I’m not writing her a letter, alright?”
He scoffed and I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes.
“TJ. Enough.”
“You’re so fucking stupid. For someone really smart you’re an idiot, Jensen,” he said as he turned to leave.
“Excuse me but why don’t you say what you have to say to my face,” I said. He stopped and turned around, walking over to me, his jaw clenched. “What.”
“If she ever heard those words out of your mouth, it’d destroy her. You literally do not understand how important you are to her you idiot.”
“I understand perfectly well how-” I said before TJ audibly growled. A part of me was happy for a moment at that reaction. Obviously he was pissed and trying to do something to benefit Y/N. For the most part though I had no clue what he was talking about. “Clearly I don’t understand what this is about so-”
“You fought for her, Jensen. I wasn’t there but I know how it was when she came to this house. She ran away. She didn’t want to be here. But you made her a promise, that you cared. No one cared about her for years. I don’t think even you know how deep that hole inside of her was. None of us do. But she tried because you were so damn adamant. Everyday it terrified her. Until it didn’t. Until you got from that first day to now. Jensen you ever tell her you’re not her father to her face and I’ll kick your fucking ass.”
I blinked a few times and frowned, opening my mouth to speak but nothing came out.
“You are her father. She had two. That’s all there is to it. If you think you’re second place or that she loves you any less, you haven’t been paying attention good enough. There is no dad that raised her and dad that adopted her. It’s just dad to her, that’s it. Why don’t you stop being the scared one for once, take a page out of her book and put some fucking trust in your daughter that she loves you just as much as her first father. Understand that?”
I swallowed and nodded, walking out the side door and to the backyard. I walked down to the dock and took a seat, closing my eyes as I exhaled.
“Jensen,” said TJ behind me.
“I got the message kid,” I said.
“I’m sorry for...I just don’t understand why you’re afraid of believing her. What she’s saying isn’t a bad thing.”
“No,” I said as he took a seat beside me. “But I don’t want to wipe away who he was or who her mom was either. I am her second father. I didn’t get unconditional love off the bat like you do with your own children. I guess part of me is afraid she’ll decide it’s conditional again one day.”
“Do you get why I called you stupid?” he asked.
“TJ, I know how I have always felt but it wasn’t like that for her. That’s okay. But I can’t…” I shrugged.
“Can’t trust that she won’t hurt you and say it’s conditional again?”
“Exactly.”
“Funny. A seventeen year old girl found a way to trust you. You’re fifty one and you should know better than her.”
“I’m older and bigger and stronger but I’m not tougher. She had the hard job all along. Just don’t know if she knew that.”
“You know...I know some of the nitty gritty details about the accident. Y/N told me a month back. She didn’t want to but I needed to know, for myself.”
“Did she now,” I said, looking out at the water, watching as a boat went past.
“I know you’re alive because of her. I know you two fought pretty good during it all. I know she screamed at you that she wasn’t leaving you. The girl kept you alive when you should have died. I don’t know what more she has to do to prove to you that there is nothing you could do to make her not love you unconditionally. So suck it up and own that you’re her dad. Write a fucking letter, don’t write a fucking letter. Just stop being scared of her hurting you. She stopped being afraid of you a long time ago.”
“I thought you were kinda nerdy when we first met,” I said. “That was the first time Y/N called me dad actually.”
“You’re a nerd,” he said and I smiled.
“You are as kind and gentle and as much of a best friend to her as I could ever hope for. I love you kid. But I’ve never seen you mad like that. Wasn’t sure if you were capable of it. Now I know you will do anything for her, even jeopardize a relationship with me, one you need in your life too.”
“I care about you but nothing will ever be more important to me than her and my children.”
“I will think about writing a letter,” I said. He nodded and I returned it. “For the record, you so couldn’t kick my ass.”
“I could still try,” he said.
“I suppose you could. Let’s not ever test it out,” I said. He hummed and I stood up. “Thanks kiddo. Always get a little wrapped up when it comes to her for some reason.”
“Not a bad thing,” he said.
“Can’t wait to see you freaking out over your daughter. Ah, that’ll be nice. Let’s have this chat when she’s sixteen.”
“Your daughter is sixteen,” he said with a smirk.
“Shut up. I don’t even want to think about whatever she gets up to with that boy,” I said.
“Just fyi, she’s a smart, innocent kid. Like innocent innocent. She talks to her sister. You’re good.”
“I’m totally not gonna shove you in the water now for that,” I said. “Come on. You can help me wash the cars.”
“What? Why?” he groaned.
“That’s what you get for coming in like a hothead. Come on. I might even let you drive Baby when we’re done.”
Later That Night
I’d just sat down with a sheet of paper and pen when I got a text from Y/N, tons of pictures of her from when she was little coming in.
OMG. TJ found these at my old house. Can you believe it! We’re gonna make copies of everything for you and mom.
I smiled and sat back, scrolling through them for a few minutes.
That’s awesome! We’ll take whatever we can get. You were pretty cute, tall munchkin.
I got in another bunch of pictures, stopping at a set in a frame. There was a black and white one of her and her dad from when she was little the two of them looking straight at the camera and laughing, a bit of ice cream stuck on Y/N’s nose. The one on the far right was one of us in a very similar pose after a day on the lake, Y/N cracking up. The center one was a little less crisp but it was easy enough to see that TJ had gotten a picture from the home video with me and her parents, this one of me and her dad giving each other a smile as a very small Y/N was passed between us.
TJ made this up for me. Isn’t it so cool? I love it so freaking much. It’s perfect.
“Yeah it is,” I said. I wrote back and wiped off my face with the back of my hand, JJ standing there in the doorway when I moved my hand back. She walked over and gave me a hug and I showed her the photos, a big smile crossing her face.
“That’s so cool. Y/N’s dad was a dork like you,” she said.
“I’m Y/N’s dad ya dork,” I said, pulling her into a noogie. She laughed and plopped down on my knee, scrolling through my phone. I gave her a hug, JJ looking through the phone for a few minutes.
“Dad. Why were you crying?”
“Got a little emotional for a second is all,” I said. “Sometimes I forget that I make her smile as much as her other dad did.”
“I like this one,” she said, turning the phone around, showing another one from the airport but not something I recognized from the tape. I vaguely recalled something to do with a bear and scratched my head.
“Uh oh,” I said as I glanced over at the main corridor. There was a teddy bear on the ground, not too far off from where I’d found that little girl a few minutes earlier. “Tell mom I’ll be back in a minute.”
“Don’t miss the flight doofus,” said my sister and I rolled my eyes as I stood up.
“Loser,” I said before I walked over and picked up the bear. I looked down at the other gates, knowing Y/N’s family had taken off that way. I started walking, trying to look around but these were big flights and there were a million people everywhere.
I pursed my lips and kept going, looking all around before I felt something hugging the back of my leg.
“Hi Jay!” said Y/N, looking up at me as I spun around. I saw her mom shaking her head as her dad stood up and walked over.
“What’d we say about you staying with your parents?” I laughed. I held out the bear and she immediately looked relieved.
“You found Teddy! Daddy Jay found Teddy!” she said as she hopped up and down, squeezing the thing for dear life.
“Finding the bear might have been an even bigger crisis averted than before,” chuckled her dad. “I guess we Y/L/N’s owe you one.”
“I just saw it and figured it was hers. She’s having a rough day,” I said, glancing down as she beamed up at me.
“Oh yeah, clearly,” he chuckled. “You in college yet?”
“Uh no sir. I just graduated highschool. I might go in the winter if my plans don’t work out,” I said.
“Nothing wrong with manual work for a living.”
“I’m gonna try and be an actor,” I said.
“Any good?”
“No idea.”
“Well, you better let me get a picture of you and the kiddo for if you make it big someday. We can say we knew you were before you were famous,” he said.
“I’d settle for not flopping on my face,” I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
“Come on you two,” he said, pulling out a disposable camera. I squatted down and Y/N gave me a hug. He took a few and laughed as I stood up. “I do not know what it is about you she’s so in love with. She’s normally quite shy around strangers.”
“Me too,” I said. “Hey munchkin. Do me a favor and stay with your parents for me? Please?”
“Okie dokie,” she said, skipping back over to her mom.
“Thanks for the bear and finding her, kid,” he said as I started to go. “I hope that acting thing works out for you. If it doesn’t, consider doing something with kids. You’re great with ‘em.”
“I don’t think I could handle more than whatever I end up making myself,” I said. “And maybe a kid like yours. She’s pretty easy going.”
“You got a long time ahead of you before you get there. Have a safe flight back, Jensen.”
“You too, Mr. Y/L/N.”
“Dad, hello,” said JJ, her hand waving in front of my face. I blinked and shook my head, smiling at the picture. “What’s that from?”
“I found her bear, gave it back to her.”
“How old were you?” she asked.
“Oh, only a few years older than you,” I said. “Still just a kid.”
“You should hang it up with our little kid pictures,” she said.
“I think I just might,” I said. “It never bothered you, us bringing your sister here, did it? You were young at the time and I knew we had a few rough first weeks but I mean even as you got older. You never felt like mom and I didn’t care about you guys as much right?”
“No,” she said, shaking her head. “We got a big sister. It’s nice having one of those. We just wanted her to be happy I think. She tells me more stuff now that I’m older. I literally can’t imagine living her life. I just can’t. It sounds terrifying.”
“Only a part was. We gave her a family back, including you,” I said. I booped her nose and she smiled. “So. What are your plans tonight? Hang out with the Pad boys?”
“Nah. They’re doing something with Cody tonight. I thought we could hang out if you’re not going anywhere,” she said.
“No, no plans for me tonight. Why don’t you go round up the other two and we’ll go play some minigolf. How’s that sound?”
“Okie dokie,” she said. I smiled and she left the room. I picked up my phone and shoved it in my pocket, stretching as I stood up. I leaned over to my desk drawer and put the paper and pen back inside, a few envelopes with letters already in there. She popped back into view and I closed it up.
“All set?”
“Mhm. Are we taking your truck?”
“Let’s take Baby out,” I said, walking around the desk. “After you, kiddo.”

Jean Kirstein x reader
Requested by anon “Omggg I loved your recent Jean post so can you do something fluffy with him? He needs the whole world, honestly 🥺”
Warning- slight mention of violence, beside that fluff!!
———-
It happened in a flash. One moment you were swinging towards a Titan, readying your blade to slice its nape, the next you were shoved out of your course by Jean and rolling on the ground until your head hit a rock and you were knocked unconscious.
Now you were waking up in your room waking with a painful tension around your head, and a throbbing headache that grew increasingly worse at the slightest beam of sun that hit your eyes. You lift your hand to block said beam from your eyes and that’s when you felt the bandage that was causing the tension.
“What happened?” You whisper, tracing your fingers over the bandage and hissing as you accidentally touch the source of your pain. When you try to remove your hand from your head you can’t help but wonder out loud, “How long was I gone?” You turn to look at the calendar, yet light still hurts your head so you look away and try to move to close the curtains, but in that, your hand hits something hard. When you look down you see someone surprising sleeping next to you. “Jean?”
You blink repeatedly, unable to believe he was here. Which brought you to ask yourself if he was really here, or did you hurt your head a little harder than you thought and just see things that weren’t here.
Maybe that’s it.
You rub your eyes until black dots take over your vision and wait for color and everything around you to return to view to look down at where you saw Jean resting his head, surprisingly and thankfully still seeing him here. At least you weren’t going crazy.
A smile grows on your lips and you move your hand to stroke his hair; just to really assure yourself that he was physically here.
And at the touch, your smile grew wider. You couldn’t help but notice that his hair was softer than usual and not as grimy. Which was a gross thing to notice, but you usually stroked your fingers through his hair because he liked when you did, so it was a habit now and brought you to noticing the smallest things of how his hair was.
Something else you couldn’t help but notice was that he had splints on his leg.
You gasp and your smile falls. “Did he get hurt because of me?” A tremendous amount of guilt hits you and before you could overthink it, from the corner of your eye you see Jean lift his head, and before you could move yours, it’s too late and the top of his head crashes into your nose and starts a new throbbing pain that has your hands flying to try and ease it. “Ow.”
“Ow,” Jean winces as he rubs the top of his head, opening his eyes and pulling his hands from his head as he forgets his pain when he notices your watery gaze. “Oh damn, y/n, I’m sorry.” Jean sits up right and grabs your hands to pull them away from your nose to check what added to your already aching pains.
“Is it bleeding? Or is it broken, it feels broken.” You mumble in a worried tone.
“No it’s not broken,” he assures you, “why would it be broken?”
“Because you have a big and thick head.”
Jean scoffs and rips his heads from your nose, crossing them over his chest and turning his soft gaze into a pointed glare. “Well I’m sorry you were in the way.”
You pout and keep rubbing your nose. “I’m sorry I was worried.”
Jean parts his lips to argue, but he stops himself before he could utter his first word and returns his expression to what it once was, sighing before he checks your nose again. “I’m sorry, are you okay?”
“Better,” you whisper, grabbing his hands before he could rest them back on his side. “You?”
“Better now seeing that you’re finally awake.” He reveals, “I thought you weren’t going to wake up, you had me worried.”
Your gaze drifts to his splinted leg and your face falls. “What happened? How long was I out?”
Jean shrugs, “just a day.” And avoids your other question, causing you to repeat it.
“Jean? What happened?”
His gaze goes to his leg and then to the bandage around your head before meeting your worried gaze. “When you went to kill that Titan, I caught it moving its hand to try and snatch you, so without a second thought I just went flying towards you and pushed you out of the way. In that it grabbed my damn leg and squeezed a little too hard.”
He risked his life and almost died because he tried to save you without even thinking of it....
“Jean,” you gasp softly, dropping your gaze and shaking your head. “Why? You could’ve died because I wasn’t viglient.”
Jean scoffs and almost sounds offended. “So what? Did you want me to let you die?”
“Yes. You shouldn’t have risked your life.”
Jean tries to meet your gaze, but you keep averting him, or else you knew you’d cry.
“You’re my girlfriend, I’d risk my life again because I don’t want to let you die.” He comforts you, “would you let me die, then?”
You gasp and your eyes fly to meet his with a burning fury. “No! Of course not, but you got hurt because of me, you almost died. I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if you had died and I lived because I was careless.”
Jean reaches for your cheek to wipe the tears that slipped down the curve of your cheeks. “Don’t you get it? I saved you without a second thought because I-I,” Jean begins to stammer, moving his hand to scratch the back of his head and hide his growing blush by turning his head away. “I l-love you.” He reveals in a nervous whisper.
You gasp and pull your head back to show your awe-stricken expression. “You….” more tears slip past your eyes and a wobbly smile begins to grow. Before you could express your own feelings, you throw your arms around his neck to pull him in for an embrace. “I love you too.”
Jean wraps his arm around you and begins to stroke your back, kissing the side of your head and staying within your embrace, grinning widely. “I didn’t want to lose you, you scared me.”
You chuckle softly and stroke your fingers through his hair. “Thank you for doing it. I love you.” You pull away to press a kiss on his lips, whispering words that you’d never get tired of saying to him. “I love you.”
Jean shows you a smug grin and completely pulls away to twist around and grab something off your desk. “Which reminds me, my mom, found out what happened and made us some food. It’s cold now, but I can heat it up again.” He tries to stand up, but you snatch the food from his hand and slide off your bed to do it yourself, earning an instant remark. “Hey! I said I was doing it, I’m taking care of you!”
You look over your shoulder and shrug. “Who’s the one without a broken leg?”
“You.” Jean scoffs, making you snicker.
You smirk. “I’m surprised your mom is not here taking care of you.”
Jean blushes again and rolls his eyes. “Yeah it wasn’t easy convincing her to leave. She wanted to pamper us both.”
“She’s nice, I love her.” You admit sweetly, “I think I’d prefer going to your house, I’m sure she has a warm meal prepared.”
“Yeah,” Jean muses, “do you want to go over? Not much we can do here. They’re forcing us to stay put until we heal.” He finishes with a groan.
You turn to face him and grin. “Yeah I’d love to.”

The way you had your hair reminds me- Zutara Week Day 1
My second Zutara Week though I hope I can actually finish it this time. I decided I really wanted to do something with Katara doing rhythmic gymnastics so I decided that since most of the prompts fit, I’ll do a sort of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo AU. It’s a good kdrama if you’ve never heard of it. trying to fit 16 hour long episodes into 7 days is gonna be interesting. I’ll warn you now and let you know there will be onesided LuTara but for like a day maybe. I haven’t written that day yet so we’ll see. This will end in Zutara happieness, I promise. Anyway, enjoy. Hair
Zuko crawled carefully as he wiped down the windows. Most of his classmates didn’t want him anywhere near an open area, especially with his limited vision but he’d just gotten his bandaged taken off and he wasn’t about to let it hinder him.
Without them on, he didn’t see Mom flinch at the sight of them, though the massive burn wasn’t any better. The fights between his parents weren’t either and Azula’s teasing was starting to be hurtful more than playful. He wanted it all to stop. If he pretended that things were ok, maybe they would be eventually.
“Hey scarface!” Zuko looked over, 3 of his school bullies storming over. He tried not to flinch, already knowing what they were going to yell at him about. They’d been doing it all day. “We lost the race thanks to you!”
Zuko used to be more confident. But after the burns, a few harsh words and he’d start retreating back down into himself. These bullies took advantage of it. During their Sports Day yesterday, Zuko had dropped the baton in the relay race and ran in the opposite direction, away from the bullies yelling at him.
“Mr. Reversal, can’t believe you’re so stupid.”
“You need a walking stick, scarface? Huh?”
Zuko felt one of them shove him and he expected to hit the window frame. Instead, he went flying out the open window. Years later, Zuko would mostly remember him being caught by an older man with darker skin, most likely from one of the Water Tribes, with kind blue eyes, who held him as he burst into tears and two younger children. The boy patted his back, telling him not to worry because his sister would take care of it and the girl screaming up at the bullies from the ground floor. Her long braid swung back and forth as she shook her fists and threatened to do violent things to them. her eyes seemed bluer than her families, like the clearest ocean.
He didn’t know they’d slip back into his life years later. That the little girl who threatened bullies for a boy she didn’t know, would become so much more important to him.
________________
Zuko unlocked his bike, trying not to feel discouraged. It was hard not to when he’d been disqualified from another competition for having a panic attack. Every time he walked onto the mat, his hearing would go wonky and he’d start seeing double, not to mention his heart beating like it was trying to escape his chest. As a result, he’d always forget to sault his opponent and the referee.
Along with being propositioned to train an up-and-coming fencer to get onto the national Olympic team – which he refused because how was he supposed to help someone when he could even finish a match – all he wanted to do was collapse onto his bed. He could already tell that during training tomorrow, he’d have to deal with snide remarks from Jett. How that guy became captain, he’d never know. He knew if he just beat him in training like always, it would piss him off even more and with the school’s Sports Day coming up, he was not in the mood to do the worst event for the Fencing Department.
He climbed on his bike, adjusting his kit sitting on its place but stopping himself from peddling back to campus when his phone rang.
“What Sokka?”
“So, the results of the match went up. Jett wants to talk to you; says he’s got the prefect thing for you to do to make up for your loss. The rice lifting challenge.”
Zuko had to bite his lip to keep from screaming. The idea of the lifting challenge was to carry as many bags of rice and the industrial size, like the one the school cafeteria ordered and hold it for as long as possible. Usually, the Karate Department would be the one to win, fencing never even coming close.
“I’m not going.” Zuko said, making up his mind.
“What?”
“I’ll hang out at Lu Ten’s office or something, but I’m not going. Not to the crapshot of a meeting or to Sports Day. I don’t care what he threatens me with. I’m only coming back to drop my kit off.”
“Um, well I actually heard Mai was back. Didn’t make it past the preliminaries for the national team I hear.”
This day couldn’t get any worse.
“Screw it, I’m not coming back for the next few days. I’ll be with my uncle if you need me.”
“Wait! Ask Toph to do your event for you. it would put the Weightlifting Department in danger of losing but most of those guys don’t like her anyway. She’d love a chance to get back at them. come back to campus and ask her and then I’ll take you out for lunch. At my dad’s restaurant. You love his marinated salmon.” Sokka said, trying to entice his roommate.
Zuko sighed. “I want two orders. And you’re paying.”
“Done! Get here soon.”
Zuko didn’t bother answering, stowing his phone away and pushing off, heading towards Republic City Sports University.
______________________
Effortlessly, Katara grabbed her back leg and straightened it as she did her pivot. She kept her balance as she came out of it and continued to twirl her ribbon. Her coach nodded.
“Very good. You’ve been practising. Your balance is better. Now I want to see if your fouettés have improved as well. If you want a chance at placing first and getting noticed by our sponsor and qualifying for the national team preliminaries, your routine can’t have any mistakes. Ty Lee, pay attention. I’m testing your fouettés as well.”
Katara looked over at the girl dressed in pink, who was pouting down at her matching hoop, Suki patting her on the shoulder. While Katara and Ty Lee weren’t friends, it was hard to not bond over being singled out by their coach.
Katara stood at the ready, twirling her ribbon as she readied herself when the door burst open.
“Azula!” Ty Lee cried.
Azula Lung was the student with the most sway in the whole school. Her father was the Prime Minister of the Fire Nation and while he didn’t hold much power in Republic City, since all powers were equal, that didn’t mean much at the University. She got the best room, private transport to competitions and rules didn’t apply to her. She could boss around any coach, even though she was in the Karate Department. There’d been rumours that her place was bought, until her first competition where she creamed everyone. She was her department’s ace. In fact, she managed to take the Weightlifting Department’s old gym for the Karate Department, which started a massive feud between them. she was rude and arrogant and somehow, one of Ty Lee’s best friends.
Katara noticed a girl standing next to her. She was dressed in all black, the only colour being the red of her nails. She looked incredibly bored and only looked annoyed when Ty Lee launched herself at her.
“Mai, you’re back!”
“Mai has returned from her qualifying competition for the national team. We’ll be taking Ty Lee with us. Problem?” Azula announced.
“No of course not. Except, Ty Lee, you were supposed to show me your routine for Sports Day? Since you’re our department’s cheerleader.”
Azula scoffed. “Sports Day, waste of time. She won’t be attending. You, blue peasant.” Katara balked at that and narrowed her eyes. “You’ll be taking her place. Problem?”
Katara opened her mouth to say, yes big problem, but all the girls of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Department crowded around her, suffocating her with their hands.
“None at all.”
“Thanks Katara!” Ty Lee said, scooping up her bag and dashing off, Mai following and with a raised eyebrow that spoke of her superiority, Azula leaving as well.
“You can’t argue with her Katara.”
“She’d have you removed from the school. I heard she got a person’s whole family business shut down for pissing her off. Do you want that for your dad?”
“Her dad might be the Prime Minister, but he’s practically a mafia boss.”
Comments like this floated over her head, as well as ones telling her they’d help with making a routine for Sports Day, which was in a few days. All Katara could think about was how completely unfair this all was.
And she let it out too once training was concluded for the day.
“It’s completely insane how she can just lord over them like that!” she said, harshly untangling her hair from its bun.
“Easy, you’re gonna rip your hair out.” Suki said, stopping her from tugging at it more and helping to pull half of it into a bun like she usually wore it.
“She’s a student. A sophomore at that. Where does she get off acting like she’s the greatest thing in the world? Just cause her dad is a Prime Minister? So is mine!”
“I thought Water Tribe issues fell under Yue’s dad’s jurisdiction?” Toph, a member of the Weightlifting Department asked, her hand holding on tightly to her guide dog’s harness. She was just as well known as Azula, due to the fact that she was blind but was still one of the highest climbing Weightlifting competitors at the school. She beat all the senior’s bests within her first month.
“Yeah, only because the South is smaller. That’s not the point! The point is, she does whatever she wants and doesn’t get in trouble for it and it extends to her friends too. I have a competition coming up soon and instead of working on my routines for that, I’m going to be learning choreo for a routine for one of the dumbest traditions of Sports Day.”
“Oh,” Toph said, a massively mischievous smile on her face, “well you won’t think it’s stupid when you hear what I heard. Wanna take a guess as to who’s the Fencing Department’s cheerleader?”
Katara looked over at Toph, who’s smile was growing maniacal. Usually that meant someone was going to get embarrassed as hell. It usually tended to be Sokka.
“Wouldn’t it be one of the girls?”
“Nope.” Toph shook her head, popping her p.
“Is it-?”
“Katara, watch out!”
A guy on his bike and panicked look as he turned the corner, thankfully started the veer off course at the sight of her. She still stumbled over her feet and fell to the floor, her hands pricking in pain as they were scratched. Thankfully though, her jacket took most of the damage. The guy on the other hand, had to shove his bike off his feet, rubbing at his shin.
She took in the pale skin, paler than Toph’s and dark hair surrounding his face. It didn’t stop her from noticing the large burn surrounding his right eye. she noticed that his school jacket was the same one Sokka wore, meaning he was in the Fencing Department.
“You should be more careful.” She meant for it to come out a bit nicer, but the anger from dealing with Azula slipped in.
clearly the guy didn’t enjoy being yelled at as he snapped back. “I didn’t see you.” he seemed to rethink his anger and continued in a calmer voice. “Are you ok?”
ok, now she felt bad about snapping at him. “I’m fine.”
“Oh, what up Sparky?” Toph asked, seeming to brighten as she figured out who almost crashed into them. her guide dog Badger, lead his owner over and with surprising accuracy, Toph punch the guy on the arm.
It was a little scary how well she could do that.
“Stop calling me that.”
“Hey, tell me. Seen his skirt yet? I know he doesn’t shave his legs so please tell me he’s going all out for this.”
The guy sighed. “Thought Sokka told you not to tell anyone.”
“Sokka? He’s the Fencing cheerleader? That’s why he’s been borrowing my hair pins? Those things are expensive.” Katara interrupted.
Toph burst into laughter, clearly enjoying herself while Suki looked thoughtful.
“So that’s why he asked for makeup advice. Suddenly Sports Day is looking a lot more fun.”
“Speaking of which, I’m going back to my room before Jett finds me to let me know my event. Oh, Toph wanna annoying your department?”
“Always.”
“Take my spot for the Rice Lifting event. I’ve dealt with way too much to even put up with Jett today.”
Katara furrowed her brow, wanting to say something about the fact this guy wasn’t going to participate but then she noticed Toph’s smile dropped a little and her punch was definitely softer the second time she hit him.
“Done deal Sparky. Tell your old man I’ll see him later.”
“So who was that?” Suki asked as the guy finally took off.
“Zuko Lung, not related to the royal brat. I go to his old man’s tea house sometimes. He’s Sokka’s roommate apparently.”
“Oh yeah, he’s a pretty good fencer from what I hear. Weird though, I haven’t seen his name in the announcement of students placing.” Suki said.
She had a point. Katara never remembered seeing anything either. She also found it a bit strange Sokka never dragged his roommate to meet the rest of them. there was something about Zuko though that seemed familiar. It was on the tip of her tongue but nothing came to mind. Oh well, for another day then.
“Hey, let’s go find Sokka. Maybe if we catch him off guard, we can get him to agree to let us wax his legs.”
__________________
“I hate you.” Sokka mumbled, hiking his cheerleading skirt up. Katara bit her lip to keep from laughing at the crop top he was in. apparently, he pissed off their department captain by telling him that Zuko wasn’t participating and Toph was taking his place, so his new uniform was worse than his last.
She tossed her braid behind her, trying not to think about how young she must have looked. She had her hair like this when she was younger since it was much easier to put it into a bun. Her own uniform was rather pink for her taste, but Ty Lee basically guilt tripped her into wearing it since it already been bought. She was still annoyed at this, even more so when she found out her new roommate was Mai. The dark and depressing girl was apparently in the Archery Department and Sokka, who’d been in that Department before transferring to fencing, said she was undefeated. Yet she didn’t get past the first round of preliminaries to get onto the national team.
“Hey Sokka!” Aang, a member of the Track and Field Department came bounding over, his own skirt floating around his legs. “Katara, you never told me how much fun a skirt can be. Took me a while to find boxers that weren’t too long but still.”
“I’m glad your having fun Aang. At least someone is.” She said, smirking at Sokka.
“You deal with 3 hours of having your hair ripped out and then come talk to me.” Sokka snapped. “Ugg, I’m gonna kill Zuko. This is all his fault.”
“Wow.” A familiar voice said. Zuko was in casual clothes, carrying a cooler. Next to him was a man, with a squarish face, the same gold eyes and dark hair as Zuko, though his hair was pulled back into a top knot. “See if I bring you anything ever again.”
“You know Jett will kill you if he sees you.”
“He can’t do anything. My uncle called to pull me out for the afternoon. This is work, we’re delivering ice tea for the Fencing and Track and Field Departments. Aang, next time, don’t put your order late at night.”
Aang looked embarrassed. “Sorry. You were already gone when I got back from training. I was going to order for the Rhythmic Gymnastics department, but I know how conscious your coach is about sugars and such.” He said, looking at Katara.
“It’s ok. I’m stealing one though, I deserve the extra sugar for being in this outfit.” She said, walking over to Zuko and opening the lid on the cooler. She noticed he was staring intently at her face.
“What elementary school did you go to?” he asked suddenly.
“Huh?”
“Did you go to Ba Sing Se Preparatory?” he asked.
“Yes?”
“You screamed at those bullies.”
Bullies? Wait. It hit her like a thunderbolt, why he looked so familiar. His burn was a bit more faded but she couldn’t believe he forgot him. He’d been pushed out the window by bullies and her dad, would come to drop off lunch for her and Sokka, managed to catch him before he hurt himself and she’d screamed at the bullies from the floor.
“Holy crap. That was you!” Sokka said, “you had like no hair then!”
“Sokka!” he’d disappeared from class for a few weeks and when he came back his hair was cut so far back that it made his bandages stick out more.
“Yours was in a braid then.”
She was confused for a moment when she realised, he was talking to her. Yesterday her hair had been out but now it was in the same style she had it in as a child.
She’d always wondered what happened to him when Zuko suddenly disappeared for good one day. She’d didn’t think she’d find out now.

A/N, PLEASE READ! Hey everyone! This is my first ever The 100 Imagine! I know it's long, but what else do you have to do while quarantined? I hope you like this Imagine! If you use other pronouns, just replace them with the ones I used in this Imagine. I used she/her, because that's personally what I use.

♡Masterlist♡
"Please please PLEASE be safe."
Lack of oxygen on the Ark was a luxury compared to how much air your best friends Jasper and Monty were being deprived of as you held them both tightly in a group hug.
"(Y/N)...can't...breath." Jasper patted you quickly several times on the back, awkwardly trying to escape from your embrace.
You released them, giving an apologetic smile.
"We'll be fine. We're just gonna get food and water, and we'll be back before nightfall." Monty gently reassured you.
That was what scared you the most.
How were they so calm in a situation such like this?
Hurdled from the sky onto the ground which wasn't even 100% survivable, miles away from the fallout shelter you were supposed to be at, with 100, (now 98) teenage delinquents who had no adult supervision whatsoever.
Yeah, what could go wrong?
You took one last look at Jasper, who was adjusting his black goggles on his forehead, and gazing in awe at the green forest which surrounded you.
Without warning, you flung into his arms.
He stumbled back, off balance.
"Woah, (Y/N), chill out. We'll be fine." He laughed, hugging you once more.
"Why don't I get a hug like that?" Monty pouted, jutting his lip out, a smirk dancing on his lips.
You smiled, gifting one of your famous hugs to the boy.
Monty broke away, grinning, and turned to Clarke Griffin, who was now calling out orders to those on the ground.
"Okay, everyone, listen up! Finn, Jasper, Monty, Octavia, Wells, Bellamy and I are all going to the mountain where were originally supposed to land. We'll be grabbing everything we need for a day or so, and then we're all gonna hike there together. (Y/N) (Y/L/N) is in charge. Out of all of us, she paid the most attention in our survival classes. If you even have a prayer of getting through the night without being eaten alive, I strongly advise that you listen to her. Do I make myself clear?"
Disapproving murmurs could be heard around camp, mainly from John Murphy and his group of friends.
"Who made you Queen of the ground?" Murphy spoke up, several people agreeing with him.
Bellamy pushed his way towards the front of the crowd, causing everyone to quiet down.
"No one did. But Clarke's right. Out of all of us, (Y/L/N) is the one who knows what to do. Now you can run off by yourself, or you can pitch in and have a shot at surviving."
All eyes trailed on me, and I couldn't stop the blush that crept on my cheeks.
I never enjoyed being the center of attention. Now I had to babysit 90 rebellious teenagers?
There was no way they were ever going to listen to me. I didn't even commit a crime! I was framed. We have nothing in common except that we were all born on the Ark and flung to the ground. It was just pure luck that Monty and Jasper happened to be on the drop ship. I could trust no one but them.
The 7 teens made their way to the woods, and I felt panic surge through me.
I had liked Jasper for the longest time.
I've always been a closed book. You're lucky if you get through chapter one.
But Jasper and Monty know everything about me.
The one thing they both don't know, is my love for Jasper.
Normally, I would trust Monty, like I did with everything else.
But this was different.
The boy who defended me when I was getting bullied and pushed around by John Murphy.
The boy who helped me with my science homework.
The boy who made me laugh when a smile seemed impossible.
We had sat across each other on the drop ship, fear evident in both of our eyes.
Even then, when death could have been minutes away, I still didn't have the guts to tell him how I feel.
"Jasper!" I caught his wrist, the touch familiar to me.
He turned, eyebrow raised, waiting for a response.
I chickened out.
"Your shoes untied." Was the best I could come up with.
He smirked at our inside joke.
The day we had met was the first day of kindergarten, and I was wearing a pair of my moms old slip on shoes.
Jasper came up to me with a red crayon in his hand, and told me with a smile that my shoe was untied.
I frowned, looking down at my feet.
"But I don't have laces." I had explained, perplexed.
He laughed, explaining the joke and then introducing me to his friend, Monty.
But we were naive school kids then who had no worries other than if an asteroid was going to strike the Ark.
"Let's go!" I heard Bellamy Blake, the oldest of us all, call to Jasper who I was still holding on to.
It's now or never, (Y/N).
"Jasper, we gotta go, man!" Monty jogged back, tugging on his arm.
I let go, and he was gone.
Tears pricked my eyes and I felt stupid.
What if that was the last chance I ever had? What if he got eaten by a giant worm?
I shook my head, forcing the bad out.
Now, all I could think of was positive.
It took me a few seconds to realize that a group had gathered around me. Some looking bored, others scared.
"So, what do we do now?" A girl with her arms crossed over her chest asked me.
I blinked, reminding myself that I was now in charge.
Thanks, Clarke.
I made a mental note to give her a piece of my mind as soon as things settled down.
Back on the Ark, I was often the first choice parents had when they needed a babysitter.
Kids loved me, and I connected with them effortlessly.
Something told me a group building activity wasn't going to happen down here.
I cleared my throat, my mind racing.
Yes, I had paid the most attention in our survival classes, but now it seemed like everything I learned had been erased.
"Well? Do you know anything, or not?" John Murphy was tapping his foot impatiently.
Part of me wanted to snap back with sass, something I was particularly good at.
But this was no time for conflict.
If there's one thing I know about kids, it's that they hate being told what to do.
But these weren't just any kids.
Some of them were here for murder.
"There are 90 of us in all. We're all going to divid equally and do our share. If you don't wanna do anything, that's fine. Just note that you won't be having dinner tonight."
The few people who had secluded themselves from the group joined us.
I began counting off, making sure to keep Murphy with me as I was clearly the only one who had self control.
Anyone else would gladly tear his head off.
I had ten people working on the drop ship, cleaning up the inside.
Eighteen more were scavenging what they could and bringing it outside, as well as picking up debris on the outside.
A few feet away from where we landed were a field of flowers, several which I knew to be edible.
Twenty of us plucked primrose, thistle, dandelions, rose hip, and daisies.
I had another twenty scavenge for pine nuts along the trunk of trees, and strip the needles for tea.
Ten more were starting fires, and another ten setting snares in the forest, which I had to teach them how to do.
It was good, having something to take my mind off of Jasper.
With John Murphy by my side, I had a lot more to think about.
Why hadn't anyone killed this boy?
Could I kill him now?
Why did he talk so much?
"Am I gonna get dinner tonight? You're not letting me do anything." He grumbled as I helped a girl assemble her twitch up snare.
You'll be lucky if you aren't dead by tonight. I'll kill you myself. I thought to myself.
"You are doing something. You're my...apprentice. The only one who has enough strength to tell people what to do. There's a sense of authority in you. You've already watched me make the fires and snares and okay the plants. If anything were to happen to me, you would take my place."
That was a downright lie.
I would trust a wild pack of wolves before I put my trust in John Murphy.
But my lie seemed to appease him, and he was quiet for a few minutes.
I knew there was water somewhere, which is why I didn't send anyone for it.
Vegetation was so evident, and plants were lush and beautiful. I could hear the roar of a stream nearby.
Besides, I didn't want anyone out of my sight.
Turns out with 88 people working feverishly, the job is done fairly quick.
The drop ship was cleaned out, the bodies buried, plants picked, and nuts peeled.
Everyone collapsed on the ground, exhausted.
"Good work everyone. I'm gonna take these plants down to the stream and wash them off. Those who set snares, please set some more, or teach others how to do so."
Someone had managed to scrounge up a makeshift metal pot from inside the drop ship, and several sheets of thin fabric.
If it were up to me, I would have gone to the stream by myself. A few minutes of alone time were all I really needed.
But, it wasn't up to me.
This was life or death.
"Murphy, I need you to come with me. Bring your friends, too. I need strong people to carry back the water."
Feeding the ego of cocky boys is so easy.
Murphy and his friends agreed to go, flexing their muscles as they walked along the path of the woods with me.
"Who's watching camp while we're gone?" One of Murphys friends asked, wiping his sweaty brow with the back of his hands.
Shoot.
I knew I had forgotten something.
"I'm sure they can all manage for a few minutes."
I hoped so.
"You all worked really hard. I think everyone is too tired to start a fight."
I hope that was true, too.
We reached the stream which wasn't too far from camp. It wasn't big by any means, but it was enough to hydrate and clean us.
Murphy and his friends beamed from ear to ear, and I stopped them before they could continue with their plan.
"Wait until we clean and collect. THEN you can hop in."
That seemed to be agreeable enough, after I explained that we would be swallowing their sweat if they got in now.
I took the greens, and bundled them together in a sheet of cloth, and bunched the material together, then dunked them, giving it a shake.
As the boys frolicked in the water, my mind wandered back to Jasper.
How long had they been gone?
An hour? Two?
What if they never came back? What if I was now the mother of these criminals?
"That's enough playing. We gotta get back." I stood from the flat rock I was sitting on, and ignored the grumbled complaints from the soaked boys.
It was a relief that I had asked several people to come along. There was no way I could carry that giant vessel full of water on my own.
Thankfully, things were more or less the same when we arrived back at camp.
Some people fanned themselves with sheets of metal found in the drop ship.
Others dozed on the grass, occasionally swatting away a bug.
But the best thing was my group of snarers holding up several fat rabbits that must have stumbled into their traps.
Everyone cheered, engrossed by the sight of fresh meat.
I smiled, setting the plants by my feet.
"Excellent! We'll have a lovely stew tonight!" I announced, examining the prey.
Water was boiling, greens were being sorted, and rabbit was being skinned.
"They're back!" I heard someone call.
I set down the rabbit I was currently breaking the legs of, and I hopped up.
My eyes searched for Jasper, more than excited to present to him the lovely meal we were able to have tonight.
I wondered what they had brought back with them.
But I didn't see Jasper.
1,2,3,4,5,6...
Six?
Six of our people sprinted into camp, faces red and sweat drenched clothes.
"Everyone in the drop ship! Move, move!" I heard Bellamy scream.
Jasper? Where was Jasper?
"Where's Jasper?" I ran to Monty, who looked like he was about to pass out.
He shook slightly, and extended his trembling hand to me.
Clutched tightly in between his fingers, were Jaspers goggles.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Confused and frightened glances were exchanged as we all stumbled into the drop ship, abandoning the food, and the boiling water over the fire.
Panic surged through me once more as I struggled to make sense of our new reality.
"What happened?"
"Is he dead?"
"Did you make it to the mountain?"
Questions were being thrown like dodgeballs in gym class.
I blinked, adjusting my eyes to the dimly lit space in the drop ship.
Bellamy had closed the door.
Claustrophobia crept over me and I felt sick.
The only thing keeping me steady was Monty's arm, which I was clutching like a lifeline.
"Everyone shut up!" Bellamy's booming voice echoed throughout the small space, and we all covered our ears as the sound bounced back to us.
All fell silent.
"Where's the one with the goggles?" A girl with a big mouth asked.
Bellamy clenched his jaw, and looked at the ground, frustration radiating off of him.
"I need you all to remain calm." He said in a voice that wasn't calm whatsoever.
Murphy scoffed.
"Calm? You run through the woods like Bigfoot is chasing you and you want us to remain calm?"
No one argued with this.
"We're not alone here on the ground." Clarke began.
A blanket of fear rested upon all of us.
"What do you mean, not alone?" A girl by the name of Harper spoke up.
"I mean what I just said. We were attacked on our way to the mountain and whatever it was took Jasper with them." Clarke struggled to remain composed.
I felt my breath catch in my throat, and a strangled sob escaped my chapped lips.
Everyone was in an uproar now, screaming and wailing.
I sunk to my knees, holding the goggles to my chest.
Hot tears streamed down my face and I let out a strangled cry.
Why didn't I tell him?
I let my insecurities get in the way and I couldn't tell him that I loved him?
And now he was as good as dead.
My shoulders shook, and Monty knelt down next to me, tears trailing down his cheeks as well.
"We'll find him. I swear to you, we will find him, (Y/N)."
He sounded like he needed some reassurance himself.
Someone was wailing. The kind of cry that made you want to cover your ears and hide away forever.
It took a moment to come to the realization that I was the one making the sound.
The only sound now was my sobs and ragged breath. My fellow inmates backed away, allowing Bellamy a clear path to where Monty and I were situated.
I felt an unfamiliar touch on my shoulder.
It was Bellamy, and he looked at me with determination.
"We will find him. But right now we need to lay low." He spoke softly.
Anger welled inside me.
"If it were Octavia, you would have a search party out right now! What makes Jaspers life any less important?" I hissed, venom coating every word.
Bellamy held his tongue.
No one argued against me, but no one exactly agreed with me either.
"We leave at first light. Those who want to volunteer, come see me." He announced, walking away.
Monty and I held each other, sobs wracking our bodies.
I spent a good portion of the night bawling my eyes out.
I felt kind of bad. Monty held me, as calm as he could be in this situation, telling me stories and reciting my favorite poems.
When we all had settled down for the night, some of us asleep, I heard Murphy a few feet away from us talking in a hushed voice.
"Now we're all hungry because that one chick didn't bring any of the food in here. It's all outside probably being eaten by whatever the hell took Jasper."
If I had the energy, I would have ripped Murphy's throat out right then and there.
But my chest was tight from all of the crying, and dehydration was setting in.
"Come on, man. The girl just lost her boyfriend. We can go a night without dinner." One of Murphy's cronies stood up for me.
Boyfriend?
Did people really think we were a couple?
Maybe it falls on me and how I reacted.
I had been awake, counting my breaths.
How many did Jasper have left?
"You're in love with him." Monty spoke, disrupting the quiet.
"What?" I attempted to play it dumb.
He scoffed, sitting up.
"I see the way you look at him, (Y/N). It's like...all the stars in the galaxy can't even compare."
I bit my lip, unsure of what to say or do in this situation.
"I do love him, Monty. I really do."
A fresh set of tears welled up in my eyes and began to spill.
"And I never even got to tell him." I cried.
Monty shushed me, rubbing my back soothingly.
"We'll get him back. I know we will. But for right now, we can't dwell on the past. Try and get some sleep." He smiled down kindly at me.
I didn't sleep at all that night.
Go figure.
I pretended to, though. For Montys sake.
He must have been up for two hours before he finally succumbed to sleep himself.
Maybe it would have been best if I had slept that night.
There were no windows on the drop ship, so there was no way to tell when it was morning. So I listened carefully for the sounds of the crickets to subside and the chirps of the birds to arrive.
I jumped to my feet, accidentally stepping on Murphy's hand.
"Ow! What the hell?!" He shouted, still half asleep.
"It's daylight. We have to go find Jasper." I shook Monty awake, my eyes on a frantic search for a sleeping Bellamy.
I found him by the door, near Octavia.
"Bellamy-Bellamy wake up." I shoved him several times, and he awoke with a "Snork?"
"We have to go find Jasper. Get up." I bent over to re-lace my shoes, but was stopped in my tracks.
"(Y/N), (Y/N), slow down." He sprung up, and placed both of his hands on my shoulders.
I wondered if he had even slept at all. Deep purple bags hung low over his eyes.
"No, I'm not going to slow down. We have to go. Who are the volunteers?"
I pivoted around to Monty, but Bellamy twirled me to face him.
"(Y/N), you're not going. You have to stay here at camp." Bellamy spoke the words slowly.
I did a double take.
That had to be some sort of sick joke.
"Like hell I am. Jasper's my-."
"I know. I know. But you have to stay here. You did so good leading the camp yesterday. I need you to stay here."
Several emotions registered on my face at once.
Confusion, anger, betrayal...
"If it was Octavia out there and someone tried to stop you-."
"Stop bringing Octavia into this. Besides you're dead on your feet. If anything happened I doubt you would be able to escape in time." He interrupted once again.
His words weighed heavy.
He was right. I was exhausted. Staying up all night getting over the potential death of my long time crush/best friend tore me to pieces.
"Maybe Jasper is literally dead on his feet. What would be the irony of that?" Murphy's snide comment earned a few chuckles from those around him.
I shoved past Bellamy, and charged towards Murphy, who's smirk turned into shock.
"Do you think this is a fucking joke Murphy?!" I screamed as he avoided a harsh slap to the face.
"Woah, woah!" Bellamy held me back as I screamed obscenities at Murphy who backed away, sneering at me as if I were the insane one who was making disgusting jokes.
I struggled for a bit, and collapsed against Bellamy's chest, sobbing.
I was so angry.
Angry at myself for being so weak.
Angry at Murphy who couldn't be serious for five minutes.
Angry at Bellamy and Clarke and everyone else who didn't keep Jasper safe.
"I love him! I love him, Bellamy. Please, bring him back. Bring him back alive." I gasped, collapsing to the ground, Bellamy falling with me.
"We will. I will. I promise." Bellamy forced me look at him, and he turned to Clarke.
He told Clarke that she needed to stay here and start building a wall around the camp. I was clearly in no state to do much of anything.
That made me angry, too. If I had just gotten some shut eye last night I could have gone with the search party.
Monty was suddenly in front of me, his eyes blood shot, voice clear.
"(Y/N), listen to me. Are you listening to me?" He shook my shoulders harshly, and I nodded my head.
"No matter what happens, if we find Jasper or not, you need to stay strong. It's what he would want."
How could he say that?
IF we find Jasper?
We will find him!
Even if it meant I had to search the entire planet and beyond.
Clarke was suddenly down next to me, turning my head towards her, staring intently into my bloodshot eyes.
"She's definitely exhausted. Dehydrated, too. Monty, I think it's best if you stay here with her. I'll get her some water."
I could tell Monty was upset that he couldn't go either, but, we both needed each other right now.
He took a seat next to me, and draped an arm around my shoulder.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
The remainder of the day was a blur.
I vaguely recall a cup of pine needle tea being pushed to my lips, and someone trying to persuade a few pine nuts in me.
I drank the tea, but was too nauseated to eat anything.
Clarke and the rest of those who stayed behind worked on a wall/fence. I caught glimpses of it outside the drop ship door. It consisted of scraps from the ship, and large planks of tree bark.
I dozed in and out occasionally, but awoke to the slightest of sounds.
Monty was always there to calm me down.
It must have been noon, when there was a series of shouts that awoke me from my twelfth nap of the day.
Clarke rushed in, shoving scraps aside and making room on a flat surface that served as a makeshift table.
I bolted upright, a nasty case of vertigo settling into my brain which was still fuzzy from lack of sleep.
My heart stopped.
Either they had found him, or there was a new causality.
Bellamy, Finn, and Wells were carrying a half conscious Jasper, whose face was green and beaded with sweat.
"Get him on the table!" Clarke demanded as she searched frantically for something.
He was shirtless, a large scab like wound smack dab in the middle of his chest, blood and pus oozing from it.
Monty gagged, and ran out of the ship.
I could hear him vomiting violently.
I didn't blame him.
Jaspers eyes shot open, and he let out a mangled groan, flailing his arms around.
"Keep him still!" Clarke's voice sounded far away.
I rushed to his aid, and took one of his hands which was dirty and covered in covered in grime.
"Jasper, Jasper can you hear me?" I squeezed his hand.
He groaned again in response, tears running into his ears.
I wiped them away.
"You're gonna be okay. You're safe now. You're back at the drop ship. Clarke is going to make you better." My words were thick and it was hard to talk.
Clarke shooed everyone else away, only a few acceptations allowed to stay.
"Finn, go get me a wet rag." Clarke's voice trembled.
That wasn't a good sign.
The doctor was supposed to be calm.
"Can you save him?" I asked, hardly wanting to know the answer.
She grew silent.
"I'll do my best." She spoke.
Jasper was still screaming, and he weakly squeezed my hand.
"Make it stop, please, make it stop." He begged through the wails of agony.
My heart broke.
What could I do?
I would take the pain in a second.
I would do anything.
"Jasper, just focus on my words, yeah?"
What was I supposed to even talk about?
The Ark? The ground?
Both subjects were painful.
He let out a cry as Clarke ever so gently prodded his collarbone with her fingers.
"What the hell?" She frowned, examining the gash more intently.
"What is it?" Bellamy took to her side, intrigued.
Clarke was quiet for a moment, her brows furrowed, confused.
"Whoever, or, whatever did this to him cauterized the wound. He would have bled out by now."
What?
That made zero sense.
Why would you kidnap someone, stab them, and then heal them?
Jasper cried again.
"Don't you have anything for the pain?" I practically begged, already knowing the answer.
"We would probably have something if we were at the mountain. But the only thing we have now is time."
Time?
How much time did he have left?
Jaspers hand went limp, and my blood went cold.
Clarke placed her hand on his forehead.
"He's burning up. I need wet cloth, and lots of it."
She turned to Bellamy, who left in a second.
"He's still breathing, but barely. It looks like an infection. I'm gonna have to reopen the wound, clean it, and recauterize it."
I felt acidic bile rise in my throat.
For Jaspers sake, I prayed he would stay unconscious.
I think Wells was telling me what happened, and how they found him, but it's like everything went static.
Bits and pieces of his sentences wormed their way into my shattered mind as I gripped the metal table and Jaspers hand.
Jasper screamed, his back arching, blood spewing all over his chest and my face.
"(Y/N), I need you to keep him still. I'm almost finished cleaning it. Someone get me a hot knife!"
Jaspers eyes found mine, his wild and frantic.
"(Y/N), please make it stop. It hurts so bad! Make it stop!" He sobbed.
Tears of my own fell onto his pale skin.
I struggled to find my voice.
"Jasper, I know it's hard, but you need to stay still so Clarke can help you, okay? You're almost done. The worst is over."
Was it?
He screamed again, squeezing my hand. Quick breaths escaped from his cracked and bleeding lips.
"I...I never thought I would see you again." He admitted, sighing as someone draped a dripping cloth across his forehead.
Neither did I.
"I knew they would find you." I lied.
He blinked in response.
"I'm gonna cauterize it now, okay? Jasper, this is gonna hurt."
Clarke pressed the blazing metal to the gash.
A burnt flesh smell filled the drop ship as Jasper screamed.
Clarke dropped the knife, breathing for the first time in minutes.
"Done, it's over. We just need to get his temperature down." She began to lay more wet cloth on various parts of his body.
Easier said than done.
For the next few hours, Jaspers temperature ranged from blistering hot to the touch, to cold with sweat.
Sweat poured from his entire body, leaving the table slick with moisture.
He was delirious, reaching his hand out for something, and calling for his mother.
Invisible shadows made him scream.
At last, he settled down, his hand still in mine.
"I'll take it from here, (Y/N). You deserve a break." Monty appeared by my side, extending a cup of water to me.
He was right. I needed to get away. I needed to find a desolate spot and just curl up in a ball, close my eyes, and deem this all as a crazy dream.
Smiling kindly, I gently let go of Jaspers hand.
But Jasper used whatever strength he had left in him to hold fast to me.
"(Y/N)...stay." He slurred.
I pushed back disheveled black bangs away from his sweaty forehead.
"I'm not going anywhere." I whispered.
A ghost of a smile danced on his lips.
"I...I love you." He murmured.
I blinked, unsure of what to say or how to react.
"I love you too, Jasper." I whispered, my voice hardly audible.
His lips curled up once more, and sleep overcame him.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Three weeks later, Clarke said Jasper was okay to go on short walks for brief periods of time, as long as he had someone with him.
More often than not, it was Monty or me.
The fence had been built, and several stations set up around camp.
Animal skinning, water purification, and food storage were the most busy.
I was praised for my wilderness expertise, and held classes for those who had absolutely no idea what they were doing.
At the end of a class where I was teaching how to tell healthy rabbits apart from rabbits who had rabbit fever, Jasper appeared by my side.
"Gosh! You scared me." I laughed.
He had lost a significant amount of weight, but his smile remained the same.
"You're not supposed to be out of bed without someone." I scolded him.
"I'm not alone. I'm with you. Take a walk with me?" He extended his arm, and we walked with ours interlinked.
It was a slow process, but I loved seeing the look on his face when a bird flew by or the wind rustled the leaves on a tree.
Pure joy.
I felt myself falling more in love with him each and every day.
I had erased the day he had been carried back after serving as a dartboard.
Wiped the words that were exchanged.
He didn't remember them, so why should I?
He probably didn't even mean them in the way I did.
Friends tell friends all the time that they love them.
It was like a twelve pound weight had been lifted off my chest, after telling Jasper how I felt.
It didn't matter if he remembered it or not. I said it, and it was done and over with. No need to bring up the nightmare he had gone through.
"I remember, you know." Jaspers feet slowed down even more, if that were possible.
I turned my head to face him, confused.
"Remember what?"
He grinned, a blush creeping its way to his cheeks.
We were stopped at the back of the drop ship, where the fewest people were, but with the most weapons.
He took a deep breath.
"The night I was found. I-."
"Jasper-."
"No, let me say it."
Great, now I was gonna get friend zoned in a place I couldn't even leave.
Not that it mattered much, anyway. Jasper was alive, and that's all that I cared about.
"I love you, (Y/N). I have for the longest time and...and I thought I was going to die. I had to say it. At least once. And I know you said it back but you were probably just saying it to be nice and I-."
I stood poised on my tiptoes, crushing his lips with mine.
He shut up, kissing me back.
I was careful of his chest. Careful to keep my distance from it.
But he pulled me close, his hands gentle on my waist, mine on his neck.
We pulled apart, breathless.
"I've been wanting to do that for the longest time." He smiled, tucking a strand of loose hair behind my ear.
I blushed, leaning in for another kiss.
"Finally!" I heard a familiar voice behind us.
Monty stood there, grinning with two thumbs up.
Jasper gave him a death glare that screamed get the hell out of here or so help me I will break both of your thumbs.
"Finally! Took you two long enough! I was worried I had to go to plan B and use the power of forged love letters," Monty crossed over, patting Jasper on the back, which earned a few winces.
"I guess all it took was a near death experience. Nothing too extreme."
We all laughed, well, Monty and I did. Jasper just kind of smiled and tried to refrain from laughing.
"I guess this means we're a couple?" Jasper looked at me hopefully.
I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I thought you would never ask."

"eh?! what do you mean you're moving?!" reki shrieked out in surprise, accidentally tripping over his feet and landing on the ground
the distant sounds of cars honking and the few civilians chattering filled the air. it was almost dark and they had just gotten off work and were on their way home.
y/n sighed and picked up his skateboard, nodding her head lightly with a frown. "yeah.. my mom said we have to move soon" she said. "but.. why?" reki frowned as he stood up to meet eyes with her.
"well, my mom got a better paying job there so she said we should just move, i guess" she replied, her tone laced with guilt. "oh.." reki muttered. he kicked his feet on the ground, looking down as y/n peers at him with a guilty frown.
"im sorry reki" she whispered with a soft whimper "i guess i should've told you a lot sooner.." she said
reki looked up at her and shook his head. "no, no! it's fine, don't worry.." he reassured with a shaky smile "um..where exactly will you be moving to?" reki asked her
"miyagi" she answered quietly, sheepishly kicking her feet back and forth, causing the rumbling sound of the wheels hitting the pavement to fill the tense air.
"wow uh.." reki chuckled in surprise "that's really far.." he muttered. he then cleared his throat and shot her a shaky grin "well, atleast it snows over there!" he exclaimed. "maybe you can try snowboarding again" reki said, though it didn't seem to fill her with much comfort
"i heard there's a good amount of snow when you're deep in the mountains! you can even-"
"reki.." she cut him off with a soft whimper of his name
reki stopped and looked at her with a sad sigh. he pursed his lips and finally dropped the enthusiastic façade. "i don't wanna leave okinawa" she admitted with a pained sigh. "i don't wanna leave you"
".. a-and the others too ofcourse" she continued with a nervous chuckle "not just you.."
"i don't want you to leave too" reki chuckled as he wiped the tears brimming his eyes
he lightly punched her shoulder and took his board from her hands. "agh! you're gonna make me cry, you know!" he exclaimed. y/n smiled and let out a soft laugh "sorry, sorry" she said
reki pouted and hesitantly brought her into his arms, nibbling on his bottom lip and letting out a sigh as he squeezed her tight. "i'll really miss you, y/n" reki said.
she blinked repeatedly in shock and flusteredly wrapped her arms around him as well. "um-i-i'll miss you too reki.." she stammered out as she tried to fight off the heat that was rushing to her cheeks
suddenly, reki pulled away, much to her distaste, and fixed his stance. "let's skate together before you leave, yeah?" reki mused "just for tonight.. then we'll continue when you get back" reki smiled
"yeah. let's skate" she replied with a fond smile
the pair skated home, taking their usual route and doing some tricks here and there. though their usual chatter and banter was not present, and all there was, was silence that seemed to weight down on both of their chests with varying emotions.
they stopped at the block separating their houses, right under the street light where they always meet up with each other.
reki looked back at her and smiled. "well, this is where we part" he chuckled ."yeah.. i guess so.." y/n muttered back with a frown
reki sighed and nudged her with his elbow. "cmon, don't be like that" he said "its not like we'll never see each other again!" reki exclaimed with a laugh, though even he wasnt able to convince or reassure himself.
"you're just moving, no big deal! we have one more day to spend together and our friends and visit S" reki explained in a comforting tone
y/n sighed in distress and crouched down on the ground. she kept her board in place with her feet and stared at it with furrowed brows. "i guess you're right" she said. "but i really don't want to leave. im completely fine here in okinawa with you and the others."
"i wanna keep skating with you and go to hotsprings together and eat bentos and keep working at dope sketch!" she exclaimed with a look of affliction
reki frowned and sat down beside her, resting his chin on his hands and nodding along. "yeah, i wanna keep doing that too" he said "but we can't really do anything about it anymore"
"unless you wanna try begging your mom or something" reki joked with a laugh as he nudged her with his shoulder. "but it's not like that would work-... y/n?" reki sweat dropped as he looked at her only to be met with a look of determination and sparkling eyes.
"you're so smart, reki!" she praised "that's a great idea, we should do that! you're so amazing"
reki chuckled and cheekily grinned at her "ah shucks, you flatter me too much!" he giggled
"but were not gonna actually do that, right?" reki asked with a soft chuckle
".. right?"
"WE BEG YOU!" they simultaneously exclaimed as they got down on their hands and knees to bow
"w-what?! kids, what are you doing??" nanako exclaimed with a nervous smile as she tried to get them to stand up
"PLEASE! DON'T TAKE Y/N AWAY!" reki cried out as he wrapped his arms around her in a bone crushing hold. "please!" y/n followed up with a determined look in her eyes as she stares at her mother expectantly
y/n loosely wrapped her arms around reki's waist and pouted "please, mom?" she pleaded as she accentuated her 'puppy eyes'. "please, hasegawa-san?" reki pleaded as well as he gave her his 'puppy eyes' for the extra cute effect
nanako seemed conflicted as she stares at their cutesy expressions with a look of dread. "what do i do?! they're too.. too cute!!" she cried to herself "help me, oliver !!!"
she then composed herself and cleared her throat. "well, im really sorry kids" she said "but my desicion is final." she stated with a determined huff "im doing this so we can earn more-"
she cut herself off as she caught sight of the two teens sulking and holding ecah other while a dark gloomily aura loomed over them. "ah well- i-" nanako stammered as she shakily reached her hand out to them with a guilty smile
she then sighed and let her arms hang by her sides. "im sorry, y/n, reki. but we need to move so i can earn more money and y/n won't have to work for me anymore" she explained "plus, i've already purchased the house so there's really no going back now"
"but im okay with working at dope sketch.." y/n muttered with a frown
"i know, but.." nanako smiled nervously "look at it this way! you'll go to a new school and make some friends! we can even try snowboarding during winter, won't you love that?"
y/n briefly glanced at reki and sighed. "sure.." she mumbled
nanako smiled and gently patted them both on the head. "you should hang out with your friends before we leave" she said "you'll regret wasting your time here, yknow?" nanako mused
reki and y/n nodded and went to put on their shoes. they grabbed their boards, and hastily skated to joe's restaurant
"ah jeez.." nanako muttered to herself as she watched them skate away. "teenagers are so hard to handle!!"
"help me oliver!!!"
"guys, we have something to say!" reki exclaimed as he abruptly slammed his hand down on the table, effectively gaining all of their attention.
"y/n is-"
"what is it you slime?" miya sneered as he continued sipping on his drink
"your girlfriend?" they all simultaneously said with a bored tone as they continued on eating their meals
"..." reki and y/n blinked and looked at each other in confusion. "what?" reki asked cluelessly "no that's not-"
"well its kinda obvious" shadow said with a chuckle "yeah, we kind of saw it coming" miya agreed
"what? no seriously, that's not what-" reki was once again cut off by joe who playfully punched him in the shoulder and grinned. "damn, didn't know you had it in you to ask her out" joe laughed "and i didn't think y/n would ever confe-"
"I'M MOVING TO MIYAGI!" she immediately cut him off, mainly to prevent joe's big mouth from spilling anything, and just to get it out of the way.
"WHAT?!" they all collectively exclaimed
"are you serious? that's pretty far away" shadow said with furrowed brows "yeah... what about S?" miya asked with a small frown
"i'll have to quit" y/n says as she steals a fry from cherry's plate "i'll go one last time later."
"miyagi.." cherry mumbled as he swats her hand away from his food. "where in miyagi will you be staying?" he asked. "i don't know" she answered with a shrug. "but im going to a school named aoba johsai i think."
"carla, tell me about that school." almost immediately, carla had responded. "okay master" it said.
"aoba johsai, also known as seijoh, is a private school located at miyagi prefecture. they are mostly known for their performance in volleyball, having competed in numerous tournaments and had made a name for themselves through the sport and successfully deemed themselves as a powerhouse school. "
"volleyball?" y/n hummed in curiosity "how do you play that?" she asked cherry. "i wouldn't know." he replied "though it's a sport where you play with a team. why? would you like to join?" he asked
"probably not" y/n shrugged
"oi, rookie! are you really moving?" joe asked with a small frown "S would get boring without you, yknow?"
"i am" she replied "and i think S would be fine with you guys and reki in it"
reki looked at her and smiled. the redhead slung his arm around her shoulders and picked up his board "how bout we have a beef one last time before you go?" reki suggested "we could all go against each other. just for the fun of it."
"sure, but you'll lose, just so you know" joe boasted as he flexed his biceps. "hah?! just cus you're bigger and more muscular doesn't mean you'll win!" reki whined
"yeah!" y/n agreed with a huff "reki has gotten better and much faster! and he knows more tricks now. he even did a snowboarding trick and-"
miya quickly cut her off before she could go on a full rant about the redhead. "let's just go" miya groaned out as he grabbed his board. "man, are you sure you're not together" shadow sweat dropped as he followed miya and dragged them both out of the restaurant
"we're not!" reki exclaimed with a laugh "why would you even think that would happen? we're just best friends"
"right.. best friends" y/n agreed
shadow sweat dropped as he turned to look at her, only to be met with her teary eyes and her quivering smile, looking like she’s on the verge of crying her eyes out like a child.
"are you okay?" shadow muttered sheepishly as he watched her hastily wipe her eyes and pout like a child "yes" she replied with a huff
"oh, is that so?" miya cooed with a cat-like grin as he stalked closer to her side "i mean it makes sense" he said "the heroine shouldn't be with a slime, after all"
shadow deadpanned as he watched miya slyly lock their arms together with a grin "so who should she be with? you?" he scoffed "ofcourse!" miya wholeheartedly agreed. "im the hero so the heroine should be with me!"
shadow sweat dropped as he watched miya hug her arm and look at them with a smug cat-like smirk. "dude, aren't you like thirteen?" shadow deadpanned
y/n smiled and patted his head with a soft laugh "yup, you're right" she agreed jokingly, her smile widening as miya's face exploded into bright shades of red. "i-it doesn't mean i like you though!" he shrieked out "im just saying that we would be compatible!!"
"i see." she muttered "japanese people are so hard to decipher"
cherry and joe came out of the restaurant and got on their boards, urging them to do the same. "cmon, let's go there before too many people arrive" joe said as he stretched his arms
"last one to arrive buys everyone boba!!" reki announced as he skated away, pulling y/n along as he does so
"ha?! oi! unfair you should've counted!!" shadow exclaimed before hastily catching up to them "hmp, as if i'll lose to any of you slimes." miya muttered as he sped up
"oh please. you all make me pay anyways." cherry mumbled with a sigh as he got on carla and calmly caught up to them
"well you got the most cash" joe shrugged with a grin
"shut up you gorilla."
"i'll really miss their banters." y/n mumbled as she looked back to watch joe and cherry hit each other with their board. "hey, it's not like we can't visit you" reki laughed
"would you visit me reki?" she asked with a hopeful gleam in her eyes. "it would be strange not being with you.."
"of course! i'll visit you like every week!" reki reassured with a wide grin
"heh, as if you got the cash for that" shadow sneered from beside him.
"i-im gonna save up, then i'll visit you every week!" reki cleared his throat with a nervous laugh
her smile widened as she stared at reki in admiration and pure glee.
"okay, im counting on it!"
