Random baby/kid AKJ headcanons I was thinking about instead of debugging an issue at work:
Cathy was a really bad mom at first (as depicted in AK:G) because she was a young, scared, impoverished addict in an abusive relationship. Over time, however, she grows to be at least a caring mother.
One night when baby Jason, like every other baby in the world, is crying non-stop, Willis tells Cath if she doesn't shut that baby up then he will. So she crawls out of bed, grumbling to herself about her hangover, and makes her way to his crib. All they need right now is a child endangerment charge. She lights up a cigarette and leans over his crib, and he immediately stops crying. He smiles at her, and reaches for her, and from that moment on, she does her best as a mom, and Jason still loves her for it.
Notes:
I'm a Cathy Todd stan and can do what I want.
Willis is abusive in my Arkhamverse but not in his regular 'verse. See? He was an asshole but not an abusive asshole.
I actually like Willis being canonically abusive in AK:G because I like to think AK!Jason has a unholy trinity of terrible father figures: Willis, Bruce, and Joker.
For a time, Slade is... I guess maybe you could call it fatherly? He mostly just reminds Jason that he saved his ass from that pit and Jay owes him. But he also kind of watches out for him when Jay first arrives in Venezuela. I have lots of Slade & Jay headcanons for another day 🙃
More below the cut!
Kid Jason hates going home after school because Willis always finds a reason to be angry at him. So, of course, one place he visits is the public library until closing time. But he also meets his elderly neighbor one day in the lobby of their apartment building. He sees her struggling carrying her groceries inside so he offers to help her. From then on, he helps her out here and there whenever she needs it. Sometimes she even gives him a $5 bill, which he hides under his mattress with the rest of the money he's earned from helping her. He doesn't do it for the money but he certainly isn't going to turn it down when she offers.
Sadly, he starts going straight home again after school when he realizes that Willis just takes his anger out on his mom instead of him, and he'd rather suffer than see his mom cry 😭
Notes:
Jay canonically watched out for his neighborhood in AK:G so I'm sure this included helping out elderly ladies.
* * *
One night Willis is in a meth-induced rage and he kicks (literally) little Jay out of their apartment building onto the sidewalk in the middle of a Gotham winter without a coat. Jay makes his way toward his school, or maybe the church they went to once or twice when Cath was trying to detox, or the public library... but all those places are quite a hike away in heavy snow. He's so cold that he finds a spot in the back of a closed corner deli. The back door to the place is propped open and there's heat coming from the kitchen. He curls up between the door and the dumpster, trying to get warm enough to make it... somewhere. When one of the cooks finds him out there he tries to run but the cook, who looks like he could play in the NFL, catches him and brings him inside. The old Italian man who owns the place is delighted to have him there. He gives Jay plenty of hot chocolate and complains about the weather and how the neighborhood is going to shit and other old man stuff.
Jay goes back there after school ever so often, and eventually he starts working there (breaking child labor laws of course). This deli turns out to be a mob hangout, and that's how he meets some of the guys in Maroni's crew, and eventually the boss himself.
Notes:
When Cathy comes home and finds Jay missing and his coat on the floor she freaks. After screaming at Willis she goes searching for her baby boy. She eventually finds him, and he gets lots of hugs and kisses.
I don't know if this one actually works since there are probably lots of places nearby that are open 24 hours that he could go to, but I don't care 😉
* * *
When 10-year-old Jay finds Cathy dead from an overdose he calls 911 like a good boy. Willis freaks out when he finds out (the apartment is full of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and he cares more about his drugs than his family) He's in the hallway outside of their apartment bellowing at poor little Jay, who's already traumatized and in tears from losing his best friend/mom when the elderly neighbor hears the commotion. She comes out and yells, "Willis Todd you leave that baby alone!" (she yells this a lot), then she holds & comforts Jay until the police/paramedics get there 🥲

so its probably about time that i put something down about my CAT.HER.INE TO.DD as i don't have her listed or her bio up yet.
cath was born into a middle class family with aspirations to be a teacher. she has two older sisters who resent their youngest for getting away with everything and for becoming the center of the family's attention with the sharp 10 year age difference from the second eldest. they did not miss her when she broke away from the family.
it was in college when she met wi.ll.is to.dd. far from clean cut herself, always looking for a little adventure. she thought he was a challenge. he thought she'd be fun. it was series of flirtations before a fully intended one night stand on both parts. but crying woke up cathrine as willis slept passed out like the dead which brought her to explore the apartment to find the source. a baby in a cheap bassinet in back apartment room all alone. stumbling in, hungover as hell herself, she scooped up the child attempting to soothe its pitiful cries till he fell asleep. it was willis' voice that startled her concentration on the baby. 'that's my kid, jason.' (NOTE: i do alter the beginnings based on each JT i interact with to better fit their lore/bg if they prefer jason to be older...ect )
she tries to forget about wilis and jason for a few weeks before finding herself back in willis' orbit. finding herself gravitating to the crying child in the corner or pulling him from his father's arms to better soothe him herself. before she knows it her studies slip as she spends more and more time with jason. a proposal. an engagement. her family disowns her for choosing a bum. a bum with a child. a rushed civic wedding and an interrupted wedding night. but she didn't mind. she loved him too.
it was only a few years later that the migraines set in. willis couldn't hold a steady job or a job that included health insurance. he found other means of getting money. means that gave her access to morphine. unbeknownst to either party that morphine was laced and began the snowball downward.
the addiction was manageable while willis was around. but after a slip up with two-face things progressively got worse for catherine and jason. she tried to hold down a job. manage the bills. get clean. but the migraines and the desire drove her straight back. she tried. she tried. she slipped. she failed.
Revived AU: there was a lot of chaos the day catherine todd died. and she did die. for ten minutes she was brain dead in the ambulance before being brought back to life. before the paramedics mixed her up with another jane doe who looked vaguely similar on a chaotic day. she woke up a week later. severe memory loss and needing rehabilitation to function again. things slowly came back as she re-entered the world again. it was six months later that she remembered who she was. remembered her son. discovered bruce wayne had adopted him. she made it to wayne manor, but stopped at the gates realizing the billionaire could give her son everything. protect him. teach him. all she had ever been was an addict with no prospects. no future and no means to care for the growing boy. so she walked away. she was sure he was in better hands than her own and she loved him. she wanted every opportunity for him. things she could never give him. she was now clean, holding a steady job, going back to school and getting her teaching degree when she heard the news. jason todd was dead. and she loathed bruce wayne for failing her son like she had. over the course of the next few years she works to get involved with helping other addicts like herself, teaching kindergarten and volunteering at shelters. every week she has a date with AA and NA meetings. catherine todd had finally gotten her life somewhat straight. the only thing missing is her son-

Escape- pt 9
pt 1. pt 2. pt 3. pt 4. pt 5. pt 6. pt 7. pt 8.
Jane Seymour has stayed with Henry long enough. Cue Catherine of Aragon and the rest of the girls to save her.
Jane and Catherine take advice from others.
Henry had made his way out of the state and hadn’t seen his case since leaving until now.
“A Mr. Henry Tudor has been on the loose since last month due to a report of physical abuse to his at-the-time fiancee. Police have very limited information. If you, or someone you know, has any information on the whereabouts of Tudor, please dial the number at the bottom of the screen. That’s all for tonight. We’ll see you again tomorrow.”
“Shit,” he muttered when he heard a knock on the door. “Coming.”
“Your food is here.” The lady smiled before her nose scrunched in confusion. “You look vaguely familiar.”
“Oh, that’s not possible. This is the first time I’ve ever been at this hotel.” It wasn’t a lie; this was the first time he had been at the hotel. “But maybe I’ll see you around sometime soon? After you get off of work maybe?” Henry didn’t know it, but he had just fallen into a trap.
“I’d like that. I’ll come to your room around 7:30?”
“I’ll be waiting.” He winked at her and closed the door. “Oh this bitch doesn’t know what she just got herself into.” Then a realization hit him: he never ordered room service.
Around 7:15, Henry heard a knock at his door.
“It’s just me!” The room service lady called.
“Hey gorgeous,” he grinned as he opened the door. “Boy are you-”
“Henry Tudor put your hands up!” The woman yelled as she pointed a gun in his direction.
“How do you know who I am?” he shouted as he threw his arms up.
“Bring ‘em in boys.” A group of police ran in and seized the man.
“What the hell? You bitch!” He tried to escape the woman’s grasp.
“You didn’t think I recognized you? If you thought you were going to get away with harming a poor innocent woman to get to another poor innocent woman, you really are crazy,” she laughed as Henry was put in handcuffs and led out of the hotel.
Catherine’s cell phone began ringing while the two were napping again. She reached for the phone quickly so as to not disturb a slumbering Jane.
“Hello?” She answered without looking at the caller ID.
“Catherine? It’s Beale.”
“Oh hi. Let me wake Jane.”
“You might want to. I have big news.”
“Okay.” She held the phone to her chest. “Jane? Honey, wake up.”
“Mmm,” she stirred. “Baby’s hungry. Pickles and peanut butter.” She smiled with her eyes closed.
“I’ll get that for you, but right now Beale is on the phone.” Grace’s eyes flew open.
“I’m awake. Put it on speaker.” Catherine complied, and Officer Beale’s voice was heard throughout the room.
“Henry was arrested yesterday. We are unsure of who else is or was involved, so we suggest you continue to lay low and keep up with any sorts of training you began. He has a $250,000 bail before he goes to trial, and it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be able to make it, but we’ve had crazier things happen. Questions?”
“Are there any people suspected to have been involved?” Catherine asked simply.
“There was a disposable phone in his possession that had been calling a recently disconnected number. He alluded to the fact that he was in contact with a Mr. Thomas Culpepper. Does that name ring a bell?”
“Yes,” Jane said through clenched teeth. She knew she had been right to hang up on him the day he called her.
“He hasn’t been seen in a while, so we’re suspecting it has something to do with him.”
“Thank you sir. Have a nice day,” Jane’s voice trembled. As soon as they hung up, a tear fell down her face.
“Why are you crying honey?” Catherine wiped the tear away with her thumb.
“Hormones and happiness,” she began sobbing. When her sobs grew louder, the other four women made their way to the bedroom. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence for the gentle woman to cry, especially now with carrying a child. That didn’t stop the others from running to her side to offer her comfort, and cake if you were Anne.
“Happy crying?” Anna read the room quickly. Jane nodded.
“Do you want cake?” Jane shook her head. “Well, I always have cake ready if you ever decide you want cake.”
“Just give me her damned location!” The second Jane and Catherine hung up, Thomas had called, refusing to give up his name. “I am a very close friend to Jane, and I want to make sure she’s okay! She considers me family!”
“It’s confidential sir. I can’t just give that information away to anyone, and you are not family sir. If you were family, she would have told you herself.” Beale had figured this was someone who wanted Jane for themselves. “If anything, she’s dating the person she left with. They’re her family now. Good day.” Best to not give up any information on Catherine either, he thought. Then, he remembered something. Grace had mentioned something about a baby.
“Jane Seymour,” the blonde answered as she usually does.
“I would advise you not to answer the phone like that anymore. You’re hiding, remember?”
“Oh. I didn’t even think about that. Thank you.”
“Just looking out for you Jane. Are you pregnant?” He got straight to the point.
“Ye-yes,” she stammered. “How’d you know?”
“You were half-asleep and said something about a baby and pickles and peanut butter. My wife had the same craving when she was pregnant. Put two and two together.”
“Oh. Well, I am, and I fully intend on keeping it.” Her voice went stone cold as she followed with, “I demand full custody of my son or daughter.”
“Of course. I’ll have those papers sent out as soon as I can.”
“Thank you,” her tone went back to normal.
“Of course. Good day.”
“You told him?” Catherine asked, half asleep.
“Figured he should know?”
“Hey, do you wanna go out to dinner tonight? I can pick you up at six,” Catherine laughed at her half-joke.
“Sure. What should I wear?” The blonde leaned back into her companion.
“Something nice, but not too nice? It feels like forever since we’ve done anything fancy, and when the baby comes along, God only knows when’s the next time we’ll be able to do something,” she laughed.
“Okay! Before all of that though, I have to call my mom.”
“I’ll be here.” Catherine reached for her phone. With Jane out of the room, she saw this as her opportunity to call John.
“Hey John, it’s Cath. We have to talk.”
“What’s going on? The kid’s not yours, is it?”
-
“Mom, it can’t really be Lina’s. That’s not really how that works. And besides, we haven’t done anything,” she paused before adding on a quiet, “yet.”
“Okay!” Margaret exclaimed, although a bit defeatedly. “I just need to prove your father wrong... Wait, yet?”
-
“Sir, I’m taking your daughter out tonight. I want to ask her if I can be there for the baby, almost like another parental figure. You know her best. How will she react?”
“That baby might not be yours biologically, but that doesn’t matter. Your heart’s in it, and that makes you more of a parent to this baby than Henry will ever be.”
-
“She’s taking me to dinner, and I’m going to use this as an opportunity to ask her if she’ll help me with the baby, so long as everything goes well these next months.”
“Honey, I’m 100% sure that woman would literally do anything for you. She’s like a sister to you, isn’t she?”
“I’m not so sure anymore Mom. I don't really think of her like that anymore. I have to go get ready though, so we can talk about this later.”
“Not so fast.”
-
“Whatever happens, be there for my daughter. It doesn’t matter if you’re an aunt or another mother to that kid. Have the best intentions for the baby. Have the best intentions for Jane.”
“Yes sir.”
“I just have one more question for you,” John announced abruptly. “Are you, for real, in love with my daughter?”
-
“I just have a question for you Janey, and I want you to answer it truthfully. Are you in love with her?” Margaret pressed.
In two separate rooms, the two replied, “Uh, yeah. I think I am.”
Jane quietly walked into the living room, realizing she had forgotten a washcloth for the shower. Catherine was still on the phone. She backed into the hall but couldn’t help listening in on her conversation.
“Yeah, no. Don’t worry John. You can tell Margaret.” Jane gasped before going silent, praying Catherine hadn’t heard her. She counted to ten before walking in.
“Dad, I gotta go,” Catherine tried to cover up her conversation, blissfully unaware that Jane heard the last of the conversation. “See you later.”
“So cute with your dad,” Jane played along with the other woman’s bit. “So where are we going exactly?”
“Well, Cathy knows this super quaint- no. It’s a surprise.” She grinned. “Don’t worry. You’ll see in like three hours. Right now though, I have to run some errands. You cool to stay home for a little while?”
“Yeah, of course I am.”
“Okay. I’ll see you in a few hours. Don’t do anything too crazy.” She kissed the blonde woman's cheek softly.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m just going to get the peanut butter and pickles you never got me!” she teased.
“I hate you.” Catherine grinned as she made her way out of the house.
Before Jane could go to the kitchen, Anna appeared.
“So you and Cath are finally going on a date?”
“Well, I wouldn’t call it a-”
“It’s probably a date. Seymour, you can’t tell me you and Cath don’t have even the smallest thing for each other.”
“We- I- she-”
“Just say it man. You’ll feel better.”
“Why do you think you know?”
“Know what?” Anna encouraged Jane to verbally admit the feelings she had for her friend.
“Why do you think I have feelings for Lina?” Jane chose her words carefully. She wasn’t about to admit her feelings for her best friend, knowing her feelings would only be rejected.
“Well, for starters, you’re the only one who’s allowed to call her Lina. Anyone else is only to call her Cath, and you both made that clear. You’re also just not that secretive. The longing glances, the way you two are never apart, the clear soft spot you have for her.”
“You’re silly. We’re just friends. And even if I did have feelings for Lina, and I’m not saying I do, there’s no way she would reciprocate the feelings.” Jane wasn’t going to get her hopes up.
“So you’re telling me that if I called her Lina to her face, she wouldn’t tell me not to?”
“Well no. She doesn’t really let anyone call her that but me.”
“And you’re telling me that Cath just goes around and kisses all of her friend’s cheeks? Because I can say with certainty that she hasn’t done that to any of us, not even Cathy, and those two are related.”
Jane went to argue, but Anna continued, “Listen Seymour, all I’m saying is: don’t deny what’s right and what’s right in front of you.” The woman left, leaving Jane standing by herself for a moment. Had she really been that oblivious? Was it possible Catherine was also in love with her?

Sorting it out
Summary: The boys sort it out with a little help from their extended family (notes at the end - AO3 Link )
Steve sighs as he puts his phone back in his lap. Leaving Danny is the hardest part of this but the mission has run its course, he’s done. He needs time to shake the memories, to find the fabled peace of mind. A sense of dread tries to claw its way up from the pit of his stomach, he squashes it but it’s too late. A visual has already wormed its way into his mind, Danny, alone in his chair on Steve’s beach. The urge to get off the plane and back to Danny is strong but he manages to suppress it. He wonders what would have happened if he finally told Danny that the casual ‘I love yous’ had taken a deeper meaning for him over the last two years. This afternoon, for one glorious moment, he thought Danny was going to lean in and kiss him, but his partner turned away and left Steve staring at his back. It cemented his belief that he needed to leave the island, get over Danny, find peace and then maybe he could go back to seeing Danny as his best friend and not a love interest. Then he remembers Danny’s face and the look he gave Steve. He rubs at his eyes, fuck is he making a mistake?
“Is this seat taken?”
Steve glances up in shock, because he recognises that voice.
“Catherine ..”
“Hey sailor”
“It was you? You cracked the cypher?”
She nods her head yes.
“Lincoln got a hold of me, said you guys needed some help. So ..”
“He’s a good man”
“He must be, did you really give him the keys to Danno’s car?”
“Well, we can’t have Danny Williams driving his own car”
“Yes we can, you just won’t allow it.”
They both smile before Catherine sits down and takes his hand, squeezing it slightly.
“What are you doing Steve?”
He sighs, letting his head fall against the rest and closes his eyes.
“I just need to be on my own for a while. Find a semblance of peace”
“No, I’m not talking about that and you know it.”
Cath tugs on his arm and he rolls his head towards her, taking a deep breath before he looks at her.
“Why in god's name are you leaving the one thing behind that can give you everything you are looking for huh?”
“I .. Now listen. We don’t .. Jesus Cath, Danny doesn’t love me that way okay?”
She squints her eyes, a broad smile taking over her beautiful face.
“I meant the team, you know, your chosen family? Funny you immediately jumped to Danny.”
“I ..”
But Cath holds up her hand and shakes her head.
“No. shh. Let me talk okay?”
When he doesn’t answer she prods his shoulder.
“Fine! Were you always this bossy?”
“Yes I was, you liked that about me. And I’m pretty sure it’s why you fell for Danny.”
He shakes his head and opens his mouth but she gives him a look and he makes a zipping motion with his hand.
“Look, I know the past few years have been hard, especially the last months. I, more than most people, understand the need to get away. After Billy, I needed to find some peace but most of all quiet. A place where I could admit to myself that we” she gestures between them “became complacent. We were together because it was comfortable, easy if you will. I love you, very much, but we weren’t in love at the end. You and Danny? You fit. He loves you. Probably more than he’s willing to admit. And you love him, have loved him for a while now. I don’t understand why you haven’t said anything yet? You were never shy? And I know what you guys got up to in the barracks after the light went out.”
“Can I talk yet?”
“Don’t be a smart ass.”
“Danny and me, it’s complicated. I always thought once we’re settled, with a pension plan in place we would see what we could become. But it was never the right time, always something going on and then a few months ago he started pushing me to date. And then I realised I missed my window.”
She looks at him intently for a moment.
“So nothing happened to make him push you away? Nothing at all?”
“No?”
“So you didn’t sell the restaurant? Told him you weren’t ready?”
Steve blanches, Danny knows it was just the restaurant. Right?
“Danny knows that was just the restaurant!”
He’s aware of the slight panic in his voice as he echoes his thoughts. Cath places a warm hand on his arm and he focuses on that as he takes a deep breath.
“That was your pension. Your happily ever after. The one you pushed to have, together. And then suddenly you’re out? That must have stung and maybe it told him you weren’t ready to take the next step.”
“But he said if you’re out, I’m out. I mean this wasn’t my decision alone!”
“Of course he said that. He. Loves. You .”
“I know. We’re best friends.”
“Right, I hoped this wouldn’t be necessary but you are .. argh!”
Steve frowns as he watches her raise her arm. Within seconds two air marshals come into the cabin, stopping short at their row.
“Commander McGarrett,” the marshal, Andy Turner, steps to the side as Cath moves to the empty seat across the path “If you’d be so kind as to follow us.”
Steve narrows his eyes at Cath, he gets up but he’s not feeling kind at all.
“What did you do?”
“It’s for your own good.”
“What did you do?”
He repeats and he’s conscious of all the eyes on them.
“Missing a window is not possible if you are the one crafting it. Also if there was a right time? Then this is it.”
“Cath you can’t force this. It’s not your decision to make.”
She grins at him as she pushes past him to take the window seat.
“As I said, it’s for your own good. Oh and Steve?”
He stops but doesn’t look back.
“Don’t blame the kids okay? They just want you to be happy.”
The marshals lead him off the plane straight into a holding cell. It’s bare, one cot, pillow, sheets and toilet and sink in the corner. They leave him there. He inspects every surface of the small room, already knowing he won’t find any surveillance equipment because monitoring the cells is in violation of the privacy law. He sits down and waits.
Not even thirty minutes later the door opens and Danny comes in, leaning heavily on his cane. When Tani lingers in the doorway Steve suddenly and with clarity knows exactly what Cath meant with don’t blame the kids. He rushes forward but Tani is quicker and she closes the door with a deafening sound. He slowly turns to Danny and goes for the offence.
“Look what you did! Now we’re stuck here.”
Danny hmms, sits down on the cot and purses his lips.
“Do you honestly think I didn't know they were up to something? Steve, you’ve been gone for an hour and a half, when Cath called to tell me you were detained at the airport nobody was surprised. Charlie is a better actor than most of our team.”
Steve grins at that, remembering Charlie’s innocent face when a bag of candy appeared on the belt at the supermarket. Danny catches his eye and Steve’s heart seems to skip a beat. The dread turns into hope and somehow that’s worse.
“So why are we here Steve?”
“Because Cath is a busybody.”
Danny’s sigh is filled with disappointment and Steve’s stomach clenches.
“Fine. We’ll wait them out.”
The silence is oppressing and Steve struggles to keep quiet when suddenly Danny’s cane hits the ground, hard.
“No. You know what? You’re finally going to listen to me without deflecting or running away! You’re an asshole.”
Steve opens his mouth but Danny is suddenly in his space holding a finger up.
“Shut it. You are an asshole. You were perfectly fine with walking away and not looking back. I get it. I do. But fuck Steve you left me months ago. You twisted your way into my heart, my home, my life and eventually my retirement. And I let you. That is on me. But just when I, we, landed on the same page you dropped me. The restaurant was too much. You couldn’t do it. It wasn’t you. And again I got it. I let you walk out but you kept coming back and I couldn’t handle it. So I pushed you away, onto the dating scene, hopefully giving me a fighting chance to get over you and still I .. Then you told me you needed time. Away from me, from everything you call home and for the last time I told you fine. I thought this is it, I was going to tell you but you shut me down. I just, I desperately wanted to be the reason you’d stay. But this morning made me realise I’m once again not enough. And that’s fine, this is the story of my life. I .. with all my negative thinking, with every imagined scenario you leaving me behind never crossed my mind. That’s how sure I.. Look, I’m sorry. This isn’t fair but damn it! I’m pissed.”
Steve blinks, the hope burst into a million tiny butterflies.
“Okay, sit down before you keel over.”
He helps a grumbling Danny back to the cot.
“I really just meant the restaurant Danno. I could never truly walk away from you. You’re in my heart. I don’t want to give you a fighting chance. You’ve always been enough for me.”
Danny narrows his eyes at him but Steve ignores it and kneels down between Danny’s legs. He tugs him close and buries his face into Danny’s neck, inhaling the familiar scent. Danny tightens his arms around him, mumbling half hearted threats into his shoulder and Steve feels a tension, he didn’t know he was holding, leaving his body. He sags into the embrace, closing his eyes and just breathes for a moment. Eventually he draws back and looks Danny in the eye, he leans in slightly, giving Danny ample time to pull away. But when Danny raises his brow, Steve grins and plants a soft kiss on the corner of Danny’s mouth. Danny huffs and yanks him into a proper kiss, groaning when Steve deepens the kiss almost immediately. He gets lost in the kiss, loving the feeling of Danny’s fingers carding through his hair. They kiss for a long time, mapping each other’s mouths, necking like teenagers on a first date. He slips his hands down Danny’s back, but pulls away when he feels Danny twinge. Right, bruising, from the kidnapping. Fuck.
“Ah sorry.”
“You didn’t beat me up Steve.”
“No but it was ..”
Danny kisses the words out of his mouth and for a moment he forgets everything around him. Until Danny breaks the kiss, sweeping a thumb over Steve’s sensitive bottom lip.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“But Danny, you are the most important person in my life right now and everybody knows it. I can’t do this without you. I’d rather be miserable on my own knowing you are safe than be responsible for your .. So you see now why it’s better for me to leave?”
He looks at Danny willing him to understand only to be met with an eye roll and a cuff to the back of his head.
“I know you like to think you are superman but you do not control the actions of other people Steven. I’d rather have you here, being able to save me than thousands of miles away and not being able to do a damn thing. Afghanistan and Korea taught me that. So if you are going to stay, then make damn sure that this is what you want because if you leave again then we are done. No take backs, no do overs.”
Steve looks away, he’s going to have to stop fooling himself seeing as how he isn’t fooling anyone else. Cath was right, now is the time.
“I hear Jersey is nice this time of year.”
Danny’s laugh is music for his soul and he leans in to taste it.
******

I seem to be on a roll, part of it is that people keep giving me inspiring prompts and another part of it is the fandom collectively deciding we needed a slightly altered ending. This tiny fix it story is based on a tumblr post from mcdannohmygod, @mireilleleerves tagged me in it and I really liked the idea. I did give it a twist, though. Hope you enjoyed it!

hi everybody! i’m cj or cath, whichever, she/her pronouns and residing in the est timezone!! i’m not very interesting so onto the real reason you’re here my sad boi GRAYSON EVERTT. under the cut are a few bullet points on this babes and learn more about him on his STATS PAGE. i also have a CONNECTIONS/PLOTS page available to you all! like this if you’d like to plot with this walking disaster ♥ also, i won’t be here for opening for interactions because of prior plans but i’ll have a starter scheduled!![ TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of death, child death, car accidents and alcoholism. ]
━━━ nathaniel buzolic, 32, cismale ↷ grayson everton has been living in wisteria apartments as a chef/bartender for amount of time in 2 years. during that time he has earned the reputation of the cataclysmic. it makes sense you know, they can be self-destructive and pessimistic. but let’s not forget they’re pretty selfless and honest. ( level two & 302 )
history:
grayson was born in brooklyn, ny to a single mother. she worked as secretary at local lawyers office, so she made ok money. he never knew his dad and his mom has always told him he never need to know him. sometimes he is curious just who he could be but always respects his mothers wishes. his mom worked a lot leaving him.
bella fitzgerald @bvllz and him grew up down the hall from one another and have been best friends ever since he could remember. their parent’s often bonded over having two similar aged children and they would have play dates together.
when he was 11 his mother had an affair with her boss (a big fancy pants lawyer at the time) and thus come the light of his life his little sister gabrielle everett. he always thought he never wanted a little sibling until he was holding her in his arms. she was everything to him and he was the usual protective older brother. her father wanted nothing to do with her and left her solely to their mother.
her mother lost her job because of the affair and her reputation got ruined and trashed, she ended up having to get a job as a waitress at a restaurant. at this point the family of three was struggling very hard to make ends meet, grayson himself went out and got a job at 13. because of their mom’s work schedule grayson became the father figure for gabrielle.
growing up he was always a happy kid, he loved his family, had normal friends, played soccer and did normal kid stuff.
everything changed for him after his sister’s death. one night when he was 16 and gabrielle was 5 their mom ended up getting off early at the restaurant and told grayson to pick her up and the three of them could get ice cream. they rarely ever got treats like this so of course both jumped at the chance. on their way to the resturant the car got t-boned and totaled by a drunk driver. the car had run straight into gabrielle’s side.
everything came crashing down around grayson after that. he felt personally responsable for her death and to some extent his mother blamed him as well. his mom resorted to drinking to cope with the pain quickly become dependent on it.
at this point was when grayson began acting out, he skipped school, flooded his body with drugs and alcohol, and partied to he couldn’t. he did whatever he could to try to forget what had happened with his sister.
because of lack of attendance and overall bad attitude he decided to skip going to college and stayed home to support himself and his mom. he still continued his self destructive ways.
this went on for a long long time, grayson working menial jobs just to pay the bills. it wasn’t till got a line as a cook in a local dinner did he realize his love for cooking. he enjoyed the creativity and structure of it. it became his passion and he started cooking for his mom and bella all the time refining his skills.
wisteria:
two years ago he was offered a position at an upscale restaurant in LA after the owner tried his food at the diner. he jumped at the offer and bella moved with him since they really can’t be apart.
he now lives comforatbleish on level 2 #302, he send money back to his mom whenever he can to help out.
he still his a self destructive butt head when it comes to drinking and drugs. he also parties way too much. all these years and he still hasn’t learnt a proper coping mechanism for the pain. he feels like he doesn’t deserve anything because of what happened with his sister, still believes it’s 100% his fault. maybe he does this a little less then in high school, but only a little.....
he doesn’t do relationships, he hooks up with everybody and anybody. but he’s kinda hopelessly in love w/ bella though he’d never ever tell you that because pshhhhhh you’re wrong. he’s probably had the occasional relationship in the past two years but ended up sabotaging it by cheating on them or something.
i wrote this really fast so i could get it up asap! much apologizes if there is anything unclear or grammar mistakes! - tap dances away -

You promised to come back. Chapter 4 [Sam Drake/OC]
Pairings: Sam Drake x oc/reader
Warnings: Umm, Reference to sex, cursing, minor violence, maybe some NSFW? I don’t know. (I haven’t written so much to know all the practical things, sorry)
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9 - Chapter 10 - Chapter 11 - Epilogue
Chapter 4 - The Rossi Estate part 2
I rushed to the bar, and ordered a whiskey and poured it straight down on my throat. It burned my gut and I waited for it to stop. I ordered another one and took my glass and looked at it. People around me were looking at me but I didn’t care. My head was messed up.
How the hell Sam was alive? And why the hell he is still searching that goddamn pirate treasure? I shook my head and poured the whiskey down my throat. I asked for another one and I took the glass and turned my way. I saw how Sam was talking to a waiter and Nate grabbed his back pocket a keycard. I started to walk to Sully and headed there at the same time as Nate and Sam. I glanced at Sam and noticed he had a tattoo on his neck. Nate opened the door and Sully gave us the earpieces so we could talk. Brothers disappeared from the door and Sully turned to me. "You alright?" I nodded to him. He offered his hand and I grabbed it and we started to walk to the hall. "Sorry kiddo, I thought Nate told you." He said to me. "It doesn't matter. Let's just get this cross. So I can go back home" I said when we stopped.
“This must be hard on you.” he said and I took a sip on my glass while he took a drag on his cigar.
“Well, yeah. I got over his death years ago. And now he is back. I’m so messed up.” I told before Sully winched and someone said behind us: “Hands in the air.” I got scared, did we get caught? We slowly turned our backs and a woman smiled at us and greeted.
“Hi Victor. Joanna?” She looked surprised to see me. I nodded to her.
“Hello, Nadine.” Sully said and chuckled. Nadine Ross. I knew her, we had catch up on the same gym years ago. I didn’t know how Sully knew her but listening to them talk, they probably didn’t have any pleasant meeting in the past.
“I was on my way to the bar. Can I get you something?” She asked and I raised my glass and she turned her eyes to Sully who told her to bring scotch, on the rocks.
Nadine started to walk to the bar. I looked at Sully and he had a really serious look on his face. He was calling for Nate and asked did he cathed that. I heard Nate saying something and teasing Sully about a lady buying him a drink. I looked around and looked the people in the hall.
“Yeah. Nadine Ross is buying me a drink.”
“Nadine Ross?” Nate sounded surprised, he had heard that name before. Then it hit him.
“Wait, doesn’t she own that army-for hire? What’s it called, Coastline?”
Before Sully didn’t manage to answer I answer instead.
“Shoreline.” Sully looked at me and looked surprised. I looked at him and slowly nodded to him made him know I knew her, Nathan and Sully continued their talk and I saw how people started to gather closer.
Soon Nadine came back with their drinks, and they started to catch up. I listened and gave little smile once in awhile. I heard how Nate was asking how everything was looking, but I couldn’t answer since Nadine was standing front of us. I started to get little nervous. Then I heard Sam saying about pants being just a little bit too tight. I was just about to take a sip on my whiskey and I almost choked on it. Thank god Sully and Nadine was just laughing and it looked like I was laughing with them. I wiped my chin on my hand.
I looked down at my glass, which was almost empty and wandered to go get another one. I didn’t want to get drunk but I surely needed another drink. I excused myself before I turned and walked away. I placed the glass on the table looking down on my heels and saw waiter coming towards me. I looked and saw he had a glass of wine on his tray and I asked him to stop. Then I realized it was Sam. He looked me deep into my eyes and lowered the tray to let me grab a glass from it. My heart started to beat harder. He winked at me and continued his way. I sighed quietly.
Then I turned to Sully and saw someone going towards to him. Wait, was that Rafe? I looked more specifically. I had met Rafe only twice fifteen years ago, but I still recognized him. Of course, that prick was here after Avery’s cross. I put the wine glass front of my mouth and whispered.
“Nate? Sam? Rafe is here.” Saying his name felt weird. I searched my eyes at Sam and saw him wince when he heard me telling Rafe was here. He looked at me and turned to look at Sully. He didn’t look as surprised to see Rafe there as I thought he’s gonna be.
I sighed and started to head to Sully. I saw how Nadine stepped next to Rafe and I wondered if she was his bodyguard or something. As I reached closer I heard Sully saying
“You are working for an American.” Okay, so she was working on Rafe. Great, that’s just great. I saw how Rafe turned to Nadine and noticed me coming further. He raised his eyebrows and looked me up and down. It felt disgusting. I just wanted to punch him.
“I see. Talk about a power couple.” Sully said to them and turned to me, as I grabbed my hand around his.
“Joanna.” Rafe smiled at me.
“Rafe.” I answered and looked at him with the cold eyes. He wasn’t surprised to see me, and I wonder why. But then auctioneer told that they're going to start bidding in a few moment.
“Well, I know when I’m a third wheel. And I actually had a company of my own.” As Sully nodded at me, and we started to turn away.
“You kids have fun tonight.” Sully told them before Rafe grabbed his elbow.
“Hold on Sully. How did you find out about it?” Rafe asked him and his voice got deeper and angrier.
“It?” Sully tried to herd surprised and to be like he had no idea what Rafe was talking about. “Now what ‘it’ is that, Rafe? Nadine, I think your partner here has had too many Bloody Marys.” Rafe knocked Sully drink out of his hand and I stepped back to avoid the liquid to spill on me.
“Cut the bullshit, old man.” No everyone was looking at us.
“Now I don’t know how you scammed your way in here. But if you think…”
Rafe sounded ruthless. I was ready to punch him in his face, but I looked at Nadine and thought that I would never win against her. Rafe, I could take down easily, but I knew what Nadine was capable of.
“Rafe!” Nadine cut Rafe off before he got too far by poking on Sully’s chest.
Rafe chuckled and tapped Sully on his shoulder.
“Well. You get my point.”
“Lovely seeing you both.” Sully said before we turned and left. I was still on Sully’s arm and my hand was shaking.
“You alright?” Sully asked me.
“Me? He was threatening you not me.” I said to him while I tried to calm myself as Sully tried to get contact to Nate. We hadn’t heard from him for a while.
The option started and we watched Rafe bidding against some old men on the corner. I was getting nervous, where the hell was Nate? I saw Sam walking around with the tray in his hand. I hoped he wouldn’t do anything hasty.
Then I heard something in my ear.
“God dammit it, kid, where the hell’ve you been?” Sully asked when we finally heard Nate’s voice.
“I made it. Had a few close calls, but-“ Nathan said before Sully cut him:
“Yeah, well if you’re gonna cut the power. Now would be a good time.”
“All right, well, I’m gonna need a minute before I can reach the panel.”
“We don’t have a minute, Rafe’s about to walk out of here with your cross.” I said to Nate and he sounded shocked.
“Wait. What? Rafe? Rafe is here?”
“Yes, Rafe is here. And as of right now, he has the highest bid.” Sam told and I saw how he lowed the tray on the table in front of him.
“Well, outbid him.” Nate told us.
“With what? I don’t have that kind of scratch.” Sully asked and I turned to look at him when my heart popped up in my throat. This is not going well.
“Sully, we’re stealing it, remember?” Nate reminded us.
“What if he calls my bluff?” Sully asked and scratched his whiskers.
“He won’t.”
The auctioneer asked was there any more bids.
“Guys, if we do not get this cross, I am as good as dead.” Sam said and I looked at him and saw he was nervous and worried next to the table in a cross on it. Him saying he’s going to be dead made me realize that I had actually forgotten for the last twenty minutes that I had assumed he was already dead for the last fifteen years. And that I had actually no idea why he’s going to be dead if we won’t catch the cross. I needed answers. But first, we needed that cross.
“Going once…going twice.”
The auctioneer was almost hitting the mallet on the table and I closed my eyes and waiting for her to say Rafe had bought the cross.
“Screw it.” Sully spoke before lifting up the paddle and I opened my eyes.
“Bene! We have one hundred thousand euros in the room. Thank you. Do we have any other bids?” The auctioneer spoke and looked the crowd. I let a relieved sigh out of my lungs. I probably forgot to breathe. I saw Rafe looking at us before he lifted his paddle up.
“We now have one hundred ten thousand euros in the room.”
“In for a penny, in for a pound.” Sully looked at me before he raised his paddle again. I looked at Sam. He looked at me back and he had that serious look on his face.
“Don’t worry you’ll be out of there in no time.” Nate told us. Sully shook his head a little bit and said we better be.
I looked how Rafe and Sully were raising their paddles
“Alright guys I’m at the switch. You ready?” Nate finally asked. I tapped my wine glass with my fingers, I was so nervous.
“As I’ll ever be. Victor?” Sam asked. His voice calmed me a little.
“Just a sec.” Sully spoke and lifted his paddle. He had a funny grin on his face. I looked at Rafe and he looked furious.
“The gentleman’s bid: two hundred thousand euros.” The auctioneer informed.
“Five hundred thousand! Let’s get this show on the road here.” Rafe lifted his paddle and he was so furious. I wanted to get away from there as soon as possible.
“Uh… thank you. We have five hundred thousand euros in the room. Does the gentleman wish to bid again?” She asked as she looked over at us. Sully took a moment, turned to Rafe, and gestured him that he had won.
“Had me worried there for a minute, Victor. Thought I might have to kill you!” Rafe said and pointed us with his paddle, and the crowd started to laugh. We laughed too.
“Okay. Let’s ruin this asshole’s evening.” Sully said under his laugh. I looked at Rafe who looked pleased as he thought that this was going to be his evening. I was taking my heels off so I could get away more quietly.
Then the lights went off. I leaned to grab my heels and we rushed with Sully out from the door. We got out of the building just before we heard the door got locked and the guards yelling at each other. We got on Sully’s car without anybody noticing we get away.
I packed myself into the passenger side of Sully’s car and was seating my seatbelts, while Sully was catching up with the brothers and telling where to meet us. Then he looked at me and asked if I was ready. I nodded and he started the car. I took my earpiece out of my ear, I didn’t want to hear if something bad happens. In a moment Sully was talking to the guys again. I tried not to focus, but I heard outside gunshots and my heart stopped beating.
“Hang on!” Sully suddenly yelled at me before he speeded the car on his way through the hedge. I saw bullets flying buy and Sully pushed my head down. I placed my hands on my head and stayed down. I heard Sully hitting the horn and I kept my eyes closed.
“Oh shit oh shit oh shit.” I cursed.
I heard the bullets hitting on the side of the car and Sully yelled to hang on. I didn’t raise my head, but I assumed Sam and Nate were in the backseat. I hoped they were in a backseat. The ride was bumpy and when Sully finally slowed down, I raised my head up. I looked backseat and saw Drake brothers smiling and looking at Avery’s cross. Sam raised his head to look at me.
“You alright baby?”
My heart skipped a beat. It’s been over fifteen years when he last time called me baby. I shook my head and tried to push all the memories away, no, I was over by his death. No going back on this road. I had healed my scars and I won’t open them again.
“What kind of trouble are you?” I asked and looked at him. He looked at me, then looked at his brother before he sighed and started to tell what happened to him. I turned my head to look forward and listened his telling his story how he spent fifteen years in that Panamanian jail.
How he got hit by three pullets. How he fell down. How he was dying, but the guards patch him up and threw him into his cell. I felt my eyes started to pour of tears. It was painful to hear. Then he told about Hector Alcazar, how he helped him escape and now he needed to find the treasure to pay his debt.
He got finished just before we got to the hotel. I was tired. I wanted to go to the bed. I wanted to go to call Oscar and tell him that Sam was alive. Guys asked if I wanted to join them to see what’s inside of the cross, but I refused. I just wanted to go to in my room.

Escape- pt 6
pt 1. pt 2. pt 3. pt 4. pt 5.
Jane Seymour has stayed with Henry long enough. Cue Catherine of Aragon and the rest of the girls to save her.
Jane and Catherine meet the rest of the girls. Kind of a fluff filled chapter.
“Janey? Wake up, we’re here.”
“Huh?” Jane moved quickly.
“Are you ready to meet the others? If not, I can have Cathy tell the other girls to go away for a bit while we get situated.”
“I guess I have to be ready, right?” Jane smiled nervously. The two made their way to the door and Catherine opened the door.
“Cathy? Jane and I are here.”
“I’m in the kitchen! Girls! Come down and meet Cath and Jane!” A taller woman dressed in a blue tee shirt and jeans with an apron walked into the front room.
“Hi, you must be Jane. I’m Cathy.” The woman wiped her flour covered hands on her apron before sticking a hand out. Jane took it tentatively.
“Are you sure it’s alright that I stay here?”
“Of course. Cath didn’t really tell me much, and you don’t need to explain if you don’t want to. It seemed quite urgent though, and we have the space. Make yourself at home. I’m making chicken for dinner.” She sighed as she looked towards the stairs. “Anne, Anna, and Kat, get down here! We have guests!” What sounded like a herd of elephants came running out of a room upstairs, and three women came down quickly.
“Dinner this late at night?” Jane couldn’t help but ask.
“We all get a little distracted when we first get home from-” the woman in blue was interrupted.
“Anne Boleyn,” the woman in green smiles.
“I like your hair,” Jane compliments.
“Space buns! They’re a lot of fun!”
“You’ll learn Annie here is always doing something a bit chaotic. It’s entertaining.” Cathy smirked when Anne stuck her tongue out at her.
“She’s not wrong, but it's still rude to say out loud Parr.”
“I’m Anna. I have a dog. Are you allergic?”
“I’m not, and neither is Catherine.”
“Good. I wasn’t going to get rid of Queen anyway.”
“Anna!” The woman in pink exclaimed. “No need to be rude!” She turned to Jane and Catherine. “I’m also Katherine, but you can call me Kat, Kit, Kitty; I don’t really care which one you choose.”
“Wow. Your hair is-” Jane searched for the right word. “-vibrant.”
“I know right? Anne told me one day I should change it up, and I’ve done it ever since!” The younger woman played with the pink ends of her hair.
“Do you guys want a tour?” Anne asked. The two new additions to the household nodded. The five went around the house while Cathy returned back to the kitchen to finish dinner.
“And don’t worry. You guys will figure out the dynamic of the household pretty quickly. Cathy is kind of the responsible voice of reason. Anna does her own thing.”
“Hey! I spend time with you two a lot!” Anna interjected.
Anne ignored her and continued, “Kat and I are kind of like the kids of the house. Always doing something mischievous. Keeps things interesting, you know?”
“Do you guys need help unpacking?” Kat tried to make herself useful.
“We actually don’t have much to unpack right now, but I am going to have someone send out the rest of our stuff soon if that’s alright,” Catherine stated.
“Do what you want man. This is your house now too. Although, there is only one bedroom left.”
“Jane can have it. I’ll just sleep on the couch or something.”
“Lina! I don’t mind sharing a room. What you guys are doing is more than enough, and we’ll definitely help out around the house and stuff. I really appreciate you guys taking us in on such short notice. You’re kind of saving my life actually,” Jane chuckled awkwardly. Only Catherine knew the truth in what she had just said. These women may have, quite literally, saved her life by allowing the two to move in.
“Well, we’ll leave you guys to unpack. Cathy will call you down for dinner I’m sure.” The three left the room.
The two new women in the house began to unpack, choosing to distract themselves from what was really happening. Jane pulled out one of the many notes Catherine had written her back in high school and read over it all while grinning ear to ear.
“What do you have there? Love note from him?”
“Oh please,” Jane scoffed. “No, a note from Phillips’ class.”
“Oh my god.” The older woman snatched the letter from Jane’s hands and gave it a quick glance. “You kept this?”
“All of them. That’s actually why Henry and I were fighting.” Her face fell. “We got into a fight about I don't even know what, and I walked out of the room and pulled that out because it always makes me laugh. He accused me of being in love with you and cheating on him.”
“But you’re-”
“Lina, I would’ve thought you would know by now I’m not straight.”
“I-”
“Anyway, he told me if I was in love with you, I could never have you because I’m worthless. He said he was the only person foolish enough to take me under his wing. And uh, you know what happened from there,” her voice shook and the river of tears flowed freely. “Sorry, I know we were trying to stay happy today. I just couldn’t hold it in any longer.”
“No, don’t you apologize. It’s perfectly okay. Why don’t we take a little break and do something else. Take a nap maybe?”
“That actually sounds pretty nice. We could stay in here and watch some television? If sleep happens, it happens.” Jane began to lay down on the bed before patting the spot next to her.
“Whatever you want to watch is fine,” Jane yawned as she curled up next to her friend and fell asleep.
After a few minutes of watching the blonde sleep, Catherine slowly stood and began to unpack more things as quietly as she could. While she was unpacking, she couldn’t help shake what Jane had told her.
Jane isn’t straight. Was there really a possibility that the two could live a happy life together as a couple once Henry was taken care of?
Her thoughts were interrupted when Cathy knocked on the door quietly.
“Hey. Just came to check on you two and let you know dinner is ready. The four of us try to have dinner together at least once a week, and you two are more than welcome to join in.”
“Jane’s actually asleep right now, but I’ll try to see if she wants any food. Thank you so much mija.”
“Anything for you and your girlfriend,” Cathy teased, knowing about the long time crush her older cousin had on the blonde sleeping. Catherine stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her.
“Cathy! Not now. At least not for a while. She’s got some things to sort out first.”
“Oh! Is Catalina finally going to-”
“I’m not sure. Not for a while, if I do.”
“What happened anyway?”
“That’s not my place to tell you. Just know that right now, it’s not good. I’m sure she’ll tell you all as she gets comfortable. Just don’t push it okay querida? And please tell the others not to press. The poor woman’s been through enough in the past few days.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll do my best to get the other girls to listen.” Cathy turned on her heel and made her way back downstairs where the rest of the girls were waiting. Catherine opened the door back open and went to wake the blonde.
“Jane?” she shook the sleeping figure gently. “Cathy just came and told me dinner was ready. Are you hungry?”
“Food?” Jane mumbled.
Catherine laughed, “Yes love. Food. Cathy’s quite the cook too if I can remember.”
“Thank you,” she sighed happily as she stretched.
“Don’t thank me. Cath made it.”
“No, thank you. For everything. I can’t ever repay you for literally saving my life.”
“You know I would do anything for you, and you know I meant everything I said in all those notes Janey. Every word in there is true to this day.” Jane blushed deeply and nodded.
“I-” her stomach growled.
“Why don’t we go get some food in you?”
“That sounds great actually.” The two made their way downstairs and became acquainted with their new housemates.
“So,” Jane sighed after about an hour of small talk. “I guess you’re all wondering why we’re here.”
“Well yeah!” Anne exclaimed. “But Cath told us we weren’t allowed to ask.”
“Might as well just dive right into it I guess.”
“If you aren't comfortable with it, you don’t have to tell us anything Jane,” Kat tried. She figured this was something that would be hard to talk about. The young woman knew this especially given what she had gone through earlier in life.
“No it’s alright. I kind of owe it to all of you.”
“You don’t owe us anything you don’t want to share Jane. We’ll all be fine knowing as little or as much as you want us to know, and you’re more than welcome to stay as long as you need. This is my house after all,” Cathy chimed in.
“It might be good to get this off my chest,” the blonde insisted. “I was engaged to this guy Henry. We had been together for 12 years. The other day, it all kind of hit the fan. He uh-” Jane rolled up her sleeves to reveal many bruises. She then lifted up her shirt slightly. “-did this. Catherine kind of saved me.”
The four girls who had just met the blonde were in shock. How could someone hurt what they could sense was one of the kindest women to walk the planet?
“That’s enough about me though. How did you guys meet?”
“I’m Pinky’s cousin.” Anne grinned at the nickname Katherine hated so much.
“Anna and I were in an English class together in high school. She was struggling a little, so I helped her out. Turns out, she’s kind of cool,” Cathy laughed. “We ended up going to the same college. I started working at the coffee shop on campus, and Anne came in at least two times during my shift everyday without fail. We kinda just became friends through that alone.”
“I’m Pinky’s cousin.” Anne grinned as she called Katherine by the nickname she hated so much.
“That is unfortunately true,” Kat sighed. “And I met Anna because some jackass wouldn’t leave me alone on campus, and she stepped in and saved me.”
“We all kind of just started hanging out, and now here we are just all living together.”
“We’re not really sure how it happened. It just kind of did,” Anne chuckled.
Meanwhile, Thomas heard someone at his house at roughly three in the morning. Deciding it wasn’t worth it, he laid back down.
“Thomas! It’s me!” He heard Henry. He ran downstairs before Henry could yell anything else and disturb his neighbors.
“Henry?” Thomas faced a blond man. “What the hell man?”
“That bitch called the cops on me. I need help.”
“Dude, Jane-” Thomas felt a fist come into contact with his face.
“No, she’s a fucking bitch, and if you help her, I’ll call the cops on your ass, and then we’re both going to rot in prison. We wouldn’t want that, now would we?” Henry snarled through gritted teeth.
“Asshole,” Thomas muttered. “What do you need?”
“A fake ID, disposable cell,” Henry thought for a second. “Make that two. You’ll need one too. Colored contacts. I have an idea.” Henry explained his idea to Thomas who quickly agreed in order to cover himself.
“In a few days, I’ll go back. If I go too soon, they’ll figure it out. You’ve gotta go down now though and watch them for the next couple days. Don't let Jane leave your sight, but don’t get caught. You got it?” Thomas nodded.
