I found that my landlord had got a letter from the Count, directing him to secure the best place on the coach for me; but on making inquiries as to details he seemed somewhat reticent, and pretended that he could not understand my German.
The reaction, and following actions of the old romanian couple after learning that the Count placed the responsability of securing Jonathan's travel to the castle on them is a true testament on the horror limbo that these people have been living for god knows how long.
An inmortal, and monstruos man lives inside the countryside in luxury untouched by time itself orders you to secure transportation for this young man, barely an adult in what matters who has traveled so far, to meet what you know will be his death. A being that should be a myth is forcing your hand to guide the son of another mother to an early grave, an end that is waiting for him outside of the walls of your inn.
He and his wife, the old lady who had received me, looked at each other in a frightened sort of way... When I asked him if he knew Count Dracula, and could tell me anything of his castle, both he and his wife crossed themselves, and, saying that they knew nothing at all, simply refused to speak further.
How many times has this happened? How many young people have dissapeared one day without leaving a single trace while everyone has to force ignorance within their brains less the terror makes them unable to keep going. Worse, even if the young english man, all bright eyed and full of life, says That Name out loud you can't chastice him for such mistake because he simply doesn't know what he is calling, and the only thing that you can do is close your eyes to pray for his soul.
However, sometimes the horror is so overwhelming that another answer comes out, a last ray of hope that could change the course of what seems to be written in stone. A simple hand extending in frightened kindness for a fellow human being.
"Must you go? Oh! young Herr, must you go?"
This old woman, this old lady who has and still lives under the terror of the Count decides to try. She tries, and tries to convince Jonathan to not go, to not leave to walk to the jaws of the beast, or to at least wait for a day or two because everything is pointing to what seems to be the inevitable. Moreover, when her pleads are futile at the end, she still dares to gift Jonathan a rosary, a small protection against that cursed being who laughs at the face of everything that makes her human.
She saw, I suppose, the doubt in my face, for she put the rosary round my neck, and said, "For your mother's sake," and went out of the room.
This old lady not only sees Jonathan the young man who is just starting his life, she sees a mother waiting for any news of her son coming home. She sees a poor woman trying to find anything that could tell her an answer of whenever her son is alive or dead, while being unable to both live and grieve.
The old lady doesn't know if Jonathan will survive his duty. In fact I could pressume how her guilt of knowing that the rosary on itself is still not enough to ward off the Count made her leave the room, but she still tried to hold on the hope that this time, maybe this time, there won't be another young soul buried in the soil.
#Two (remarked) old innkeepers with no grown children around to help are forced to lead a young lamb to the slaughter#The poor grandma has a mental breakdown that gets worse the more Jonathan tries to both comfort her and explain his duty#I have to think how many times this happened before Jonathan ever knew that Bistritz existed#dracula daily#dracula#jonathan harker

This is Nogrety, Lamb's first spouse they're from my first playthrough of the game. (I still miss them :[[ )
Some basic info/lore that you might wanna know about them under the cut!
-Nogrety confessed first then after a while Lamb asked their hand in marriage, Nogrety wasn't sure at first because they thought the Lamb just asked as something political when it wasn't.
-Nogrety is a cow, but prefers the male/neutral terms, Lamb would call him "husband" in private and "spouse" in public.
-One of the first generations from the cult, saw Lamb as an equal, tho they respected the cult's leader role.
-Helped build the first farms and loved to work in the field.
-Nogrety was loved among the cult but also respected as a second in command when Lamb wasn't there. (He was close to being the first disiple too but died before Lamb could give them the role)
-Died with sickness waiting for the Lamb to return from a crusade in Anura, they still feel guilty about leaving their husband alone.
-Lamb spent over three decades mourning Nogrety, Narinder had to poses their body in order for the cult to not fall apart. Lamb doesn't remember anything from that period.
-Lamb married other followers but only when they asked only to keep the cult happy even if it made them sad.
-Only marriage that was done for love, until Lamb Married Narinder several decades later after "getting over" their first love, tho Narinder knows he cannot compete with such thing, so he just helps him through the bad days.
-Sometimes Narinder would summon Nogrety's soul to the cult grounds so they would keep the Lamb in check, Nogrety became a servant of The one who waits until Lamb ascended.
-Lamb refuses to revive Nogrety because they don't want to burden them with inmortality now that he has the Inmortality necklaces.
-The cult knows Lamb is always mourning because Nogrety's tomb is still intact and clean with new flowers everyday at the graveyard.
Hope you like my character and well a bit of lore about my lamb and their spouse hehehe.
Nogrety is from my actual game file, so yeah, I still miss them, tho I changed a bit of things because I actually wanted to make a fic with a bit of my take on the game events, and what better to give my Lamb their story with things that happened to me in game?
Anyways hope it wasn't too boring or long to read. Later!

I Saw Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2) yesterday, and Even thoug i LOVED the movie, i personally have a problem i'm how they managed the character of Delores. Bc GOD she has potential to be the ACTUAL MAIN VILLIAN OF THE MOVIE.
Why i Say "actual Main VILLIAN"? Bc the trailer of the Movie show her LIKE THE MAIN VILLIAN, but we BARELY SEE HER and Worst, we see other minor antagonists (the "Romantic interest" of Astrid/ Rory) MORE THAN HER.
And normally this SHOULDN'T have to be Bad perse, but we got something totally different from what we spected in the Bad sense. And from a Character VERY IMPORTANT TO THE PLOT(A SOUL SUCKER, A PERSON FROM THE PAST OF BEETLEJUICE AND WHOM WE USE TO KNOW HIS BACKSTORY!) so, i came up with how I would handle Delores without changing ALMOST NOTHING of the Movie.
Instead of the guy, Dolores could have make her way into the living wolrd, both to stalk Lydia, and to make the arrengments to make the ritual to archive inmortality. But in the proccess she needs to 1- get the soul of Beetlejuice and 2- have her own life Back. And how does she do it?
Easy! She manipules Astrid into becoming her friend(maybe using a máscara?) and make the pact they do in the movie. Going for "migration", getting a soul, being temporally stoped by Beetlejuice, and then the secuence of the weeding.
The rest of the movie? The exact same. But with the participation of Delores instead of the "Romantic interest"(it would be funny if Delores ends up obsesed over Astrid like Beetlejuice with Lydia thoug). And FIN!
It was that hard? I mean WHY WAS THERE TYE ROMANTIC INTEREST IN THE FIRST PLACE?? IDK. Hope You at least enjoy My rant.

hey could you an omen x reader relationships headcanons with someone who's a radiant with plant power who can control the nature around them
hello, this is almost my first request so im kinda exited. i dont wnt to risk messing it up so imma do hc for this. Hope you like it. Honestly i dont have any more words bc of tummy hurts.
────୨ৎ────
NATURE AND ANTINATURAL
(Before relationship)
First of all, you gotta know that Omen see hismelf as something against nature and its own process, this all due that he is not human and even since he transformed into radiant, no one has see him as a human, a product of something natural and mean to be.
He see himself as a violation of the human anatomy and evolution, thinking that he is a disgrace. And by this, he gonna mostly think that a person that control and live protecting the nature, is gonna hate him for who he is. and this person is you.
But the little and more relevants interactions he realize that is not that bad, that you are not some kind of lorax, just a person than meant to be to have a strong bond to plants and some interesing informacion about botany, but bno that you could or want to rip him apart for not being a human one.
Even with this, the bond among you both is his dear bonsai. A tree he have been taking care of for relaxing benefits, learning patience and admiration towards his plant.
You, as a radiant with a control for plants, helped him with his task on the tree, helping him with some tips and even, when his bonsai was dying while he was out, control the plant so it would be amazing as if a perfect care taker was the owner of it. THing that of course he didn´t knew.
After you both had already a good friend base, where you both helped and admired each others habilities, he would get some trust and confident towards you. His time with his bonsai for him was sacred, a moment of peace between him and his adopted son, but since you knew a lot about it, he would spend his alone time with you.
With this little alone time among both of you, the secrets, vent, jokes, confesions and trust starting blooming.
(Relationship development)
He was a radiant, not anything, his habilities where persued on killing and dying, he was used to it, even if its purpose was heal, as could be with sage, he knew something twisted was on it, it was breaking up the circle of life itself, something he tough he did a lot of times by being a inmortal.
But with you, this cicle was safe, not on risk, you werent reviving plants, you managed them as you pleased, trying to understand their living and even, had a bond with nature itself. (he swears you talk with trees)
This power, the habilitie of peace with something as wild and beautifull as nature made him admire and have so many ask about you, when did you realize? how was like? could you have the same relationships with plants with animals?
And between this questions he realized he wasnt just admiring you. he felt warm inside, which was weird because he was always cold.
And it was diferent, everytime he hold or taked care of the bonsai, he felt as if, in a way, he was taking care of you. And that made his inside soul even more warm.
Sorry for not doing it as IN the relationship, just didnt tough as if that would be the big big deal, i just think that this kind of conections are really special at the time of link two persons togheter, annwss, Hope y´ll liked it!!

Wave is here guys!!
Meet Wave, a sans made of water, He goes by He/Him, he is demiromantic and lives in the sea.
Originally Wave was going to be a swap-like version of Fireflame, but when I was finishing his design i descarted it, so he´s not a Swap!Fireflame or something like that.
Because he´s made of water, a liquid, he can change his form at his will, like Nightmare does
This is an example of what I´m saying.
Oh, and he´s going to appear in my animated series NightVerse, so that´s cool.
Wave doesn´t have a soul, because he´s a liquid, and he´s also inmortal by the same reason, so he would be a deadly enemy, but luckily he isn´t strong or anything, he can´t hurt you even if he tried to.
He has a counterpart called Lava, I´ll reveal his design another day, this is the future link for Lava.
Go ask questions about him in my askbox!!!!
You can use him on drawings, comics, animations... without asking me, just make sure to credit me, and this is optional but please tag me ´cause I want to see your work!! Thank you.
Wave belongs to EpicNightM (Me)
Undertale belongs to Toby Fox

Aiko (me): Vash, I was thinking... You will become a plant when you die. What am I going to do?
Vash: *ruffles her hair* You will take care of that plant if you want to. I will be there. Inmortality is possible. My body will die but my soul won't. I'll be in that little plant. You will breath the oxygen I give to your lungs, I'll give you what you need to keep living. I will be that company you need. I'll give you that fruit you love so much, or that flower you love to look at when you wake up. You'll know I'll be there because every time you see that plant, you'll know it's me looking at you.
Aiko: *starts crying* Such a beautiful thought... Mf my make up...
Vash: *hugs her* Aiko, don't cry. You won't be alone if I die first... I will always be with you. Even if you can't see me... *kisses her forehead*

I think people don't talk enough about the Spiral Nemesis and how it's not entropy because of overpopulation, but how the Spiral Nemesis is actually a full on war between spiral life forms that ends up destroying the universe, how Lordgenome himself would've been prone to this and the own strenght of the Anti-Spiral was the one who ended up probably saving the universe, and how the fears of the Anti-Spiral got confirmed when he used his power to give himself and just himself a good life on an earth that was barren whilst oppresing and resenting his own kind, like i understand he got convinced that the Anti-Spirals were invincible and a good future was impossible even with his own power, so he chose to break the rule of spiral power by creating creatures that would enforce a will that comes from despair, fear and defeat, the Anti-Spirals touched his soul and it got to him in the end.
Returning to the Spiral Nemesis i think that the Anti-Spirals were this enforced idea of entropy and giving up against the weight of mortality and the usage of will as a sustainable motivator, it's a fearful oppresor mentality that goes all the way from what they saw as "Destiny" but was nothing but a dark path that every being was at the risk of falling in. It's such a good perspective on the argument that human nature is one of violence and selfishness, weighting it with fate on itself.
Finally i love how death is out of the whole Evolution vs Stillness, the series understands that inmortality is something that humans aren't meant to feel, we saw how fucked up Lordgenome and the Anti-Spirals got on it, it expresses the end of life as this natural process that even in the wake of death, serves a purpose at great scale so the universe on itself can exist peacefully.
I should finish my homework

Okay, I'm curious. Convince me of the truth of the asenath-cawl ship. I don't know this character and my cawl books are trapped in a warehouse in billings so assume I know nothing ever.
(this is genuine curiosity and interest, you seem so enamoured with these two. I want to see what you see in the ship, since it clearly makes you happy.)
Hey Anon, thanks for asking!
AsanethAyu appears in two media, one indirectly in the "To speak as one" short-story and other in the "Genefather" book by the same author. She has a very detailed description of how she is (something that even in necron books are rare).
Cawl wants to use her knowledge to know better about necron technology (He stole her from an Inquisitor prision), but he tries his ways by talking with her, playing a board game. In their conversations he repeats how fascinating she is.
AsanethAyu is very prideful (even tried to kill him once, but Cawl keeps talking and let her decide what to do), but she acknowledge how similar are they.
It's a ship very adaptable to explore themes and tropes:
A classic "enemies to lovers"
Two very prideful scientists working together
Angst developement and maybe comfort or not
Exploring inmortality and the meaning of time, soul and life.
Also, Himedere/Kamidere necron gf x Charismatic but prideful admech bf
They have a lot of chemistry.
(From Genefather)

"At least when I die, I can rest assured my soul will be in good hands."
That was the sentence the witch told him, making his eyes grow wide for a moment. So much time has he remained by the witch's side, he has forgotten he is nigh inmortal.
His gaze rested on the golden ends of her skyblue hair, as time pass he could perfectly picture it turning more dim and gray. Her skin wrinkling, and her golden gaze turning more dim.
For him, death was but a common sight. But her death?
What would it bring? Why...can't he put those feelings into words?
"Mister reaper?" Her voice snapped the White Grim Reaper from his inner turmoil, his red eyes looking to her.
"What is it?"
"What will happen when I die?" Kuon seemed curious.
"... I cannot reveal that to you while you live." He folded his arms and sighed. "But rest assured. No harm will reach you, not while I remain by your side."
"So, in life and death I am protected by you?"
"Yes."
"Heh...What an honor. Guess I could truly rest in peace."
He sighed and just patted her head with his gloved hand.
"Let's not dwell on that possibility. You are a Witch, your kind live centuries." His black hair rested under his fedora, making a contrast with his red eyes. "Besides, if you can think on that, you can think on the ritual to bring me back to my realm. Which I sugest you to focus."
"R-Right. Sorry."

🍇🍓 for ask game?
🍇Share the "villain" or main antagonist of your clan and talk about them! (Note: Doesn't need to be a cackling supervillain, it can also be an annoying trickster, etc!)
-For this one I'm treating the Roving Altar as the main lair-
there is not a current antagonist (yet), there is plenty of lesser evil guys but most are centered on their own goals and dont really involve themselves with the rest of the clan(s) unless someone is nosy and loud about them
Latronis on the other hand is very much the whole deal, he is the one who set in motion the series of events that would lead to the creation of the Altar , therefore indirectly affecting everyone involved in that clan, like bringing up and granting someone of the likes of Mellus the equivalent of inmortality (which allows him to continue his own crimes) or Golgoryas getting allowed to continue his experiments and abuse without consequence.
Something funny(? about him is that while in present day he is still a bad guy (stealing from graveyards and the occasional crime towards travellers that roam his territory), in the past he was worse lol.
In search of divinity for himself he made a deal with a lesser god to purify his soul via a great sacrifice; whatever that entailed, he grossly misinterpreted (out of a bit of malice to those he didnt from his lair to begin with), instead he sacrificed his old clan in an "accidental" cave in resulting in a massive grave that was meant to "bury his sins for his new life". Of course the lesser god was appalled by the action and denied his request (pointless denial in the end as the tundra ended up getting his wish thru other means, but with a worse cost)
Eventually he came to meet a lone survivor from the cave in, Azopteros (who didnt recognize Latronis as he was a hatchling at the time). While at first he took the other under his wing reluctantly with plans to getting rid of him, he soon learned that the damned guy was given the divine gift he was denied and not only that but the fool didn't even know!. This would lead to a confrontation between both but given Latronis' luck he had abscond the fight as he had no means to kill Azopteros as he was still a mortal and a cursed one at that.
🍓Show off your favorite wet cat (pathetic) dragon and share a fun fact about them!
Thorn is very much my fave pathetic alcoholic meow meow.
when full-swing drunk, he has tried pretty much any drinkable liquid known to dragonkind that anyone brings to him, yes even that one you might be thinking and doing a face about
#flight rising#thanks for the ask <3#dragon share#lore share#spoiler all my tundras are pathetic wet cats one way or another but these two are a case

Hi! I hope yoı are doing well! I have a couple of questions if you dont mind me asking. Just what are orcs in your universe? By which I mean are they inmortal? Do they have afterlives? Do they have thwir own settlements and cultures? How are they affected from the presence of evil? What do they generally think about Sauron and Morgoth? Are there any of the original orcs surviving until the Third Age? I have so many questions!
P. S. This got longer than I expected, sorry aboyt that.
Don't apologize– I'm always happy to share my thoughts about the Legendarium. As background for this; I made a post about why I dislike orcs in canon– feel free to check it out, but mind the content warning. This also got very long; I basically dumped the entirety of my orc worldbuilding into it.
CW: the creation of orcs, violence, dehumanization, referenced child abuse, Sauron and Morgoth being Sauron and Morgoth
So I'm going off the the idea that the first orcs were elves Morgoth took from Cuivienen. These elves had no idea what the Valar were; they were taken from their homes and families, brought to a strange, dark place away from the stars, and corrupted by Morgoth's dark power. Some gave in, some fought, a few managed to get away. Those that didn't were changed into something... different, though they still weren't really orcs.
What Morgoth wanted was an unquestioning army that would obey his commands. It didn't work out that way. While his brute-force power was able to twist the elves' bodies, their souls, their free will, was much harder for him to corrupt. The violence they had been through, and the darkness of Morgoth's constant presence, left them too weak to be a brutal fighting force, and most of the maybe-elves held fast to memories of better days, and their unwillingness to hurt others. It was then that Sauron, cleverest of Morgoth's lieutenant's, stepped in.
See, the maybe-elves, despite the horrors they had been through, were still very elven in many ways. They sang, they crafted, they fell in love, they had children. And that was where Sauron saw his opportunity. He took the children as soon as they no longer needed their parents to stay alive. Unlike their parents, the children were more used to the darkness, stronger, and by virtue of being so young, much easier to mold into what Morgoth desired. Especially since Sauron had no ethical qualms about using violence to get them to behave.
A few generations of this, and you arrive at proper orcs. In some ways, they look elvish– pointed ears, sharp features. In other ways, they look rather different. Most of them do not know they are descended from elves (mind you, it's more myth than fact for the elves as well), and those who do have heard it only as a faint legend from a time long gone. They don't speak any kind of Elvish, they speak Black Speech, a language Sauron tailored as a tool of control, and as a way to stop the orcs from communicating with anyone else. They are strong physically, darkness no longer sickens them at all, and other than their earliest years with their parents, all they've known is harsh training and Morgoth's doctrine. Morgoth has his army.
Still, it's never that simple. Violence and indoctrination can't keep everyone in-line, especially once there are too many orcs for Sauron to constantly be watching. And after all, their loyalty to Morgoth is formed mostly out of fear; Many rebel against being forced to fight when they don't want to, they refuse orders by letting their enemies escape rather than capturing or killing them, they keep a few of the old stories alive, they start whispering in a new language Sauron had no hand in, they kill a few balrogs along the way. Some of them escape. Not many of them do, and some of the escapees end up dead; killed by animals or harsh conditions, or fearful men, elves, or dwarves. But as the First Age wears on, many of them find their way to a few settlements, deep in the mountains or forests, far to the east of Angband. They live in relative peace there, though meetings with nearby men often end violently; the orcs might not be mindless monsters (or doing Morgoth's bidding, anymore) but the men certainly see them that way. The orcs, who have only ever seen men on the battlefield, think much the same.
When Morgoth is defeated, many, many orcs die in the War of Wrath and the collapse of Angband. Those still living flee the wrath of Valinor's armies, disappearing into the far reaches of Middle-Earth. Many remain loyal, mostly because they don't really believe Morgoth could be gone, and because they've never known anything else. Certainly, the Valar and elves don't seem to offer anything better. Dead orcs, like elves, have souls destined to stay in the world. There's a closed off part of Namo's Halls for them. Many (but not all) of the Valar are very certain that they shouldn't be let out under any circumstances.
Things get more complicated in the Second Age but this is already a lot; I can type it up later if people are interested.
