I think the most fucked up part about My Hero's ending is that Izuku is genuinely not even phased by One For All being gone. From the moment he got it to the moment he lost it, he truly believed it wasn't his and that he didn't deserve it. That his dream was always borrowed, and never his own. He never recovered from his past, he truly believed he could not be a hero without a quirk. He never got the help he really needed.

In that way, it actually is really nice that everyone helped him get the robotic suit so he could become a hero again. In a way, Katsuki extending his hand for Izuku to join him in heroics is a way of righting the wrongs of the past, and encouraging him to be a hero without a quirk.

Fucked up.

On the one hand, you’re his biggest supporter and want to see him achieve his dream, but when you see the potential cost of that dream, you’re torn

Don’t get it wrong, you’re so happy and proud of him, but at same same time

especially if you’re is quirkless and just feel all the more helpless to do anything

this is why you sit his classmates down and ask that they please look after him for you

but Izuku never leaves any room for doubt that he’s glad to have your support, even though it’s tough for you sometimes

and he tries his best to avoid getting too hurt so you have as little to worry about as possible

“So I’m thankful for my sister even though sometimes we fight. When high school wasn’t easy, she’s the reason I survived.”

Izuku’s letter to you was the hardest to write when he left UA

he knew how much this was going to hurt both of you, but he’d rather do this than put your life at risk

the whole time he was away, he had to fight through the pain of being away from you for so long

but when the rest of class 1A finally got him to come back, one of the first things he did was fall asleep on the couch with you

Oh yeah yeah I'm fine I'm just thinking about the Sad Man's Parade appearing behind the Erasure group and throwing them into the concrete, constantly making more doubles and growing in mass, meaning that as they were falling on top of Eraserhead and Monoma, the ever-growing weight of doubles on top of them made them hit the ground even harder and definitely should've been enough to kill them but it didn't because the writers decide if they live or die and that's their only saving grace

I’ve spent enough time trying to convince myself that it’s not that bad. But I gotta be honest with myself.

The ending of My Hero Academia is complete and utter garbage.

Just entirely rushes out an unsatisfying ending, skipping a decade into the future with no concern for any of the unresolved arcs and storylines, and throwing away any of the meaning behind the series as a whole. Izuku has a heart of a hero and will one day be the greatest hero? Nope. Hasn’t been a hero in a decade and rarely sees his old friends. Which is super cool especially since at the same time that manga ending happens, we get the Shoji spotlight anime episode where 1A says they won’t leave anyone behind :) . The implication that Izuku never healed from his past and truly and honestly believed he couldn’t be a hero without OFA, despite his mentor in Aizawa fighting quirkless, as well as his friends like Tooru and Hitoshi, he truly believed he was worthless and unable to be a hero, is fucking heartbreaking. That’s the worst part of the ending to me. Izuku has completely resigned himself to the idea that he only had worth for one year, and then it was back to being worthless. Even though he saved countless people, saved the entire world, at the end of the day he doesn’t believe any of it was him. He has been unhappy his entire life, and he was ready to simply fade away into the background, just a memory and not a hero.

What an absolutely shitty ending. I’m glad i spent half my life reading the manga and watching the anime. A whole fucking decade for the series to say “actually things don’t ever get better, but now Izuku has a bandaid fix of having a hero suit so he thinks he’s worthy again” BITCH GET THAT MOTHERFUCKER THERAPY.

Please dear god- I need a sequel series to simply ignore the ending chapter like how Dragon Ball Super ignores End of Z-
