Katsuki is scared of Shoto and Sero, but in many different ways, for example: He smacked sero on the neck once instead of the back of the head, sero tappened him to the ceiling, after left-hooking him. Todoroki has threaten him many, MANY times and each one becomes scarier for a reason he will never understand…

Iida has a buzz cut and denki asked him to give him (denki) one, so he did, but iida had to ask him to get rid of it because he missed his long hair

Ojiro is the only one, i mean THE ONLY ONE who will publicly smack katsuki around- this isn’t bc ojiro doesn’t listen or anything. It’s because Katsuki is horrified of asking him not to do so because he enjoys being brought down after an ego boost like winning a fight- but iida and kaminari know they will get the shit (lovingly) beat out of them.

Kaminari is very competitive, all of them are, but he plays ‘dirty’ and is very good at traps when he wants to be! His Boyfriends know this because well, they’ve had the pleasure of falling for them 1 to many times-

Ochako was the first 2 figure out abt theyre relationship bc she was training with bakugou anc saw denki n ojiro checking him out, she ended up confronting them afterwards and b4 they could explain she saw bakugou smack judas butt with a towel, she put it together quickly and laughed it off before getting back to training.

Todoroki Shoto is actually very close with the whole quad(?) todoroki is very straight forward and blunt canonically, same goes for this au, he’s basically a little ass but we love him.

Hmph. He was just looking out for Deku. As a future hero, you couldn't just choose anyone to date. The media would be all over it. Yeah. He was just protecting the image of class 1-A.

Everyone was still staring at him as he boiled his own personal stew of rage, anxiety, and nausea. "What the fuck are you all staring at?" He growled, the threat of explosions making the bystanders turn their heads away.

"K-Kacchan?" Wide green eyes found his, filled with worry and... was that fucking pity? Better not be, you damn nerd.

"Hmph."

Maybe stomping away and leaving Deku's question open-ended wasn't the greatest option, because everyone was whispering at lunch. And unfortunately, his go-to "Shut the fuck up, all of you," wasn't working.

"Bakubro, what happened this morning? Mina said ––" Kirishima started, glancing warily at his explosion-prone hands.

"You think you can trust a single thing that bitch says?"

Kirishima shrugged. She is our friend, were the unspoken words.

Kaminari looked at his tray and muttered, "She told him Midoriya was dating someone from another class... and he freaked out."

"Shut the hell up, Dunce Face," Bakugou popped a few explosions off.

"Do you maybe think you're overreacting, Bakugou?" Kirishima ventured. He'd always been the one to stand up to Bakugou, to say what was on his mind, to offer that helping hand despite it always being slapped away.

"No! It's fucking Deku! He can't just date––" Bakugou cut himself off, realizing his next words would probably be disastrous. "––some random extra. Plus, that isn't even the fucking point. Racoon Eyes lied." When everyone stared at him confused, he stood up with his tray. "This is pointless. Fuck off."

He knew what he was doing, dammit.

"Kacchan?" A knocking at his door pulled him out of his mathematics tunnel vision. "Kacch––"

"What the fuck do you want?"

"Can I come in?"

"No."

A distant chorus of laughter echoed from the downstairs common room, and it sure as hell felt like the universe was aiming those laughs right at him. What a dumb predicament.

"Please? I just want to talk to you. About earlier, I––"

"Go. Away."

"Then I'll just say what I have to say out here." Oh, great. His determined voice. Now Bakugou really wasn't escaping this nerd's rambling. "I... please don't get mad at me for saying what I'm about to say. I care about you, but... you can't control who I date. If I found someone from another class, why would it matter?" He paused. Bakugou gave no response. "I'm sorry Mina played that prank on you. I really had nothing to do with it and would have told her it was a bad idea."

"Are you done?"

"Kacchan. Please. I'm trying. Can you try? I know you're capable."

Silence. Bakugou didn't know how to respond to that. Despite his anger, Bakugou could recognize the logic. And he fucking hated that Deku actually sounded right.

"Fine. It was dumb. There, you happy?" He growled.

"Thank you, Kacchan," Izuku murmured. The fragility in that voice...

"You don't have to keep standing there like a weirdo-creep. Just come in already."

His untouched math homework lay mocking him. Oh, screw you.

The green-haired boy crept in and sat on the floor. Bakugou noticed that he didn't even take two steps inside the space. He was scared. The explosive blond sneered in annoyance.

A few moments of silence blanketed them uncomfortably before Midoriya spoke. "Why did it bother you so much to hear I was dating someone?"

"Fuck off. Don't make me kick you out."

"Kacchan."

Katsuki refused to look at him. "It's just... I don't know. I don't like the thought of you dating some extra." He mumbled.

"O-oh," Midoriya mumbled after a few seconds ticked by. "I just thought you were angry, you know, because you hate new people in your life, and––"

"Stop rambling. It–– they wouldn't... deserve you." His rough voice traveled through the small space and needled itself directly into Izuku's heart. Shiny rays of hope wove through him–– and old shoots of hope, ones he had uprooted so desperately out of self-preservation a long time ago, stirred.

Something Bakugou had said earlier struck him suddenly. Some random bitch you couldn't have even known longer than eight fucking months? What the fuck, Deku?"

The only person he'd known here more than eight months was him.

"Y-You mentioned time as a factor. Kacchan, did you... you just seemed so angry. Who would I date that I've known longer than––"

"Get out. GET OUT."

"Just talk to me, Kacchan!"

Pop. Pop. Warning explosions lit up in Bakugou's palms, familiar reminders of what the warrior could do. "Get the fuck out of my room right now."

And while Bakugou usually existed in a constant state of varying degrees of anger, this outburst was not like his usual outbursts. It was hotter. Wilder. Ready to devour and burn anyone who came close.

Midoriya knew he'd lost. The door that had opened was now firmly closing shut. All he had wanted was to build a bridge, but the raging fire on the other side had set it ablaze the minute he tried to set in a support beam.

An empty, sickened feeling filled him.

He hauled himself to his feet, muscles aching in protest. Turned his back and stepped through the door.

Red eyes watched as he closed it behind him.

“Morning, Bakubabe!”

Mina’s here early, Katsuki thinks. The first one to make it into class, only after Katsuki himself.

Weird. Usually its Izuku walking in a few minutes after Katsuki, with Mina dashing in with seconds to spare before class starts.

The mischievous glint in her eye makes the hairs on the back of his neck rise up like a cat. She’s fucking up to something, as usual. Goddamnit.

It doesn’t take long for Katsuki to figure out what.

His ears manage to drown out her mindless chatter until a certain set of words cut like a knife through his consciousness, throwing him backward and reeling, trying to catch up.

His eyes go wide.

“Wait-fucking-what?”

“Huh?-wait. He seriously didn’t tell you? I heard from Shira-san in 1-A last night that her and Midoriya were dating! Isn’t that just the cutest!” The bitch has the nerve to clasp her hands together and sigh like a lovesick school girl. Katsuki barely even notices.

“He fucking-he, he’s fucking dating someone? What the fuck?” Katsuki’s breathing stutters, his mind swimming with so many thoughts, so many feelings he couldn’t understand, couldn’t place, couldn’t-what the fuck.

What the fuck.

What the FUCK.

Mina is staring at him with her beady fucking eyes, with the biggest shittiest grin he’d ever seen on the girl.

He could care less in the face of his sudden panic.

“Good morning Kacc-oh! Morning Mina! You’re here early!” Izuku walks in then and has the balls to act normal. As if he wasn’t fucking dating someone right in front of him.

What the fuck.

Katsuki abruptly stands, shoving his desk away, just because it seems like the right thing to do in the situation. He’s stalking up and staring Izuku down with the fire of a thousand suns before he even knows what’s happening.

“You’re fucking DATING someone? What the actual FUCK?! I-what-fucking- what the goddamn everloving fuck? Some goddamn extra from 1A? What the fuck? You’re really so fucking horny you’d settle for some random bitch you couldn’t have even known longer than four fucking months? What the fuck, Deku?” Katsuki is seething, barking his grievances in Izuku’s face with all the restraint of a rabid dog. If his vision hadn’t tunneled so badly in the moment he might have seen Mina staring at the two of them with a look of absolute unhinged joy.

Deku has the gall to look confused.

“I-Kacchan-what? I’m not-who-wha-“

“Fucking Shira-bitch? Are you fucking kidding me? Gonna lie right to my fucking face? How fucking long, Deku?”

“Shira-who? Kacchan i dont-I’m not dating anyone. I don’t even- there is no-who is Shira-san?” De-Izuku has the audacity to look confused at Katsuki’s accusations. Not a hint of dishonesty marring the green haired boy’s stupid features.

The realization smacks him right across the face.

Oh no.

Oh fuck.

This fucking BITCH.

“YOU!”

Katsuki whirls around on the alien bitch and Mina yelps, moving to dodge from one of his explosions, barely managing to escape with a bit of fringed hair before Izuku grabs his arms from behind and holds him in place with blackwhip.

“Kacchan, stop!”

“What the f-that fucking bitch told me you were dating fucking Shira-cunt! Ashido you stupid bitch! I’m gonna melt your fucking shitty stumps right off your goddamn head!”

“KACCHAN! Why would it even matter if i was dating someone! It was just a prank! There isn’t even a Shira-chan in class 1A! Calm down!”

And-didn’t that hit him like a sack of bricks. He deflates in record time and something searing hot settles in the pit of his stomach.

Katsuki feels nauseous.

The subtitles are in .ass formats and were synced using Aegisub.

These subtitles are synced with the officially released dvd but can be used only after transforming the dvd (which has multiple vobs files) into a video file.

bakugou literally cannot catch a break

Bakugou: Fuck you Midoriya: I'm so glad you asked, we –– Bakugou *could fry an egg on his face*: F-Fucking... nerd– I..tch, you –– you're DEAD. Midoriya: Necrophilia??!?! Didn't know you were into that Bakugou: Okay, now you're really fucking dead. And so is your whole family. Midoriya: WAIT, DON'T GO AFTER HER TOO! You've known my mom your whole life, that's so inappropriate! Bakugou: ... Bakugou: that was too far.

If you were not previously aware, there is a My Hero Academia musical theater adaptation called the Ultra Stage. I've been watching videos of it and it is so good! I am obsessed with it and you should look it up yourself. As of right now there are four stage plays that cover the show's events up to the end of Deku vs Kacchan Part 2. Some highlights include:

A very talented cast of actors who really embody the characters and perfectly sell the songs and choreography. The big highlights for me are Ryota Kobayashi as Bakugo, Yume Takeuchi as Ochako, Raita as Shigaraki, and Yuki Okamoto as Present Mic.

Great costumes dedicated to faithfully recreating the looks from the show (seriously, Present Mic and Shigaraki looked like they stepped out of the screen and materialized into live action)

Some really dang good songs! My personal highlights for me are "All Might" (All Might's pretty catchy theme music that gets multiple reprisals), "All Might: Izuku and Shigaraki Version" (A specific reprisal I want to highlight that's an incredible duet that takes place during the mall scene), "Evil is Spreading" (A villain song by Dabi, Toga and Twice), and finally "I Want To Be a Hero" (the main theme that plays at every stage play).

Gran Torino has an entire song where he sings about frozen taiyaki using his cane as a guitar while All Might, Endeavor, Aizawa, Present Mic and Best Jeanist put on white suit jackets and serve as his back up singers. The whole thing is bonkers enough to deserve its own separate mention.

They use a ton of practical effects to recreate the Quirks in live action, such as ribbons for Tsuyu's tongue and Sero's tape, mini sparklers for Bakugo's explosions and Kaminari's electricity, and they even managed to recreate Shigaraki' disintegration power and I still don't fully understand how they did it.

The stage play is very funny. There's always someone in the ensemble doing something silly in the background, every single person hams it up like no tomorrow (except Aizawa naturally), and they have a ton of fun with the stage play medium.

The transformation between big and small All Might is to have one run on stage, stand in front of the other while matching his pose, and then take over while the first All Might runs off stage. It's super endearing.

Nezu in this play is a puppet they make the teachers carry around and interact with, and seeing it fills my heart with joy every single time.

During act breaks, they have Aizawa, Present Mic and Aoyama come on stage to entertain the audience with improv skits they do in character. They are ridiculous even compared to everything else that happens, and they need to be seen to be believed.

The fight scenes are very well choreographed and feel like actual combat.

Even in spite of all the goofy elements, they actually do take the story seriously and there are some really tense moments, most of which are Shigaraki's scenes.

There's a very funny detail at the end of the first play where every single actor comes on stage and does the "Go Beyond, Plus Ultra!", except Shigaraki, who just looks at them in annoyance

I know I mention Shigaraki specifically a lot in this list but the dude who plays him goes so hard in the role that I have to give him extra credit.

To portray Hagakure, they use a projector to create an invisible person wearing clothes and have Nazuka Kaori, her actual Japanese VA from the show, pre record a bunch of lines and play them on stage.

This one isn't really a "highlight" per say but they somehow made Midnight's outfit even hornier then canon and that's genuinely impressive tbh.

There's a scene of Tsuyu dancing around in tap shoes and it's so perfectly adorable.

The subtle character development of Todoroki slowly getting involved with the dancing and shenanigans as the plays go on are fantastic.

They don't always have all the kids in every play so instead they have items to represent the ones who aren't around, ie in the first three plays they have a smile pile of sugar cubes glued together and everyone calls it Sato while Kirishima carries it around everywhere.

There's one act break skit in particular that kills me where Aoyama and Twice try to fight for the audience's attention.

Kota punching Deku in the nuts is somehow just as funny in live action despite him obviously not actually punching him.

They made the doctor healing Izuku after the Muscular fight so funny for literally no reason and I'm so glad they did.

In this recording I watched, Aizawa got an actual leg cramp mid improv skit and his and Mic's struggle to stay in character was honestly gold.

They manage to make All for One, his big fight with All Might, and the United States of Smash just as badass as they were in the anime.

Koda's pet bunny in this version is portrayed as Bakugo in a bunny suit. That's a highlight in and of itself.

Bakugo throughout the Deku vs Kacchan Part 2 fight and the end of the final show of the fourth stage play looks like he's constantly on the verge of tears and it works so well.

In conclusion, this is so amazing, more people need to see it and I hope that they get to continue and adapt the rest of the series.

Established Practice

I read a post about 'fictional characters are objects and can't be harmed' and 'you can't disrespect a fictional character.' Both of these takes are 100 percent correct. But that's never been the point I'm trying to make. Let me try to make it again and walk my readers through the steps.

I encountered a post which sneered at Scott McCall for so "easily throwing [Stiles] under the bus." Several people responded to this post, and the OP, to their credit, apologized and explained that this comment refers to Lies of Omission (5x09) and the infamous fight in the rain. They explained that it had been a few years since they had seen earlier seasons. I'm not mad at them, but it doesn't help their argument.

First, "easily." They rendered this judgement on Scott on the scene, and it has been echoed thousands of times by the fandom over the last eight years. At the time, this is what had happened to him during the season.

his girlfriend had been accused of murder and had had to leave to seek help for a serious supernatural crisis

his mentor and adult advisor had vanished while on a mission to help him and he was worried about him

his pack had been deceiving him and ignoring him

lots of teenagers were dying and he had been told it was his responsibility

he was experiencing a resurgence in his serious asthma condition which hampered his ability to fight the villains

he had promised his beta Liam to do everything to protect Hayden, who during the scene was dying 100 feet behind him

No one needed to have watched Seasons 1 through 4 to know this during the fight in the rain, because all of it was mentioned in the opening monologue of that very same episode. I'm pretty sure that this was on purpose to remind the audience of the incredible pressure Scott was under.

Second, "throwing [Stiles] under the bus." Is that what happened? I think, objectively, the only conclusions that Scott drew in that scene were that he didn't believe Stiles, he needed some space from Stiles, and he suggested -- after Stiles asked him what to do -- that he go talk to his dad. Scott didn't end their friendship, he didn't call Stiles names, he didn't even mention the fact that Stiles had concealed important information and lied to him more than once.

And yet I argue that over the last eight years the fandom has deliberately and purposefully ignored that entire context of that scene and its consequences. To reiterate the above point, you can't hurt or disrespect a fictional character, but I sincerely believe that fandom warps this scene (among others) for the purpose of their own enjoyment. They gain pleasure by turning a character of color from hero to villain, by eliminating all empathy for the character of color, and by positioning a white male character as the target of the character of color's unearned oppression.

I believe I can say this because it is part of a historical and cultural pattern where characters of color and their stories have consistently been mutilated by majority white audiences for their own entertainment.

I work in academia in the preservation of intellectual history; I encounter this particular phenomenon regularly. On my desk is a photograph from 1952 where a fraternity is participating in a campus-wide event where different organizations participate in theatrical skits. They're in blackface, presenting a picture of the Antebellum South as a social paradise. As part of my work, I examined the context. This wasn't happening in some rural backwater. This was on a university campus with black students. No one -- not students, not faculty, not administration -- said anything about this behavior, because it was "all in good fun." I guess they just wanted to let people enjoy things.

That's one example, but there are thousands and thousands more, and this behavior has had definite effects on media creation. Even as an ignorant white teenager in the 1980s, I noticed that characters of color in violent action-adventure stories were extremely likely to die, no matter what the outcome of the story , either to establish vicarious justice or to raise the stakes. That was their only purpose. It's getting better, I think we have to say that. Two decades before the scene Lies of Omission, the idea of a Latino actor like Tyler Posey playing a lead protagonist like Scott McCall would have been almost unthinkable. The best he could have hoped for would be to have played Jackson or Isaac. If by some chance he had been able to play Stiles the sidekick, he would almost certainly have been dead by the end of Season 2 in order to 'raise the stakes' for whichever white actor got to be Scott McCall. If by some miracle, Mr. Posey still got to play Scott in the nineties, the show would never have made three seasons, let alone six.

Fandom's reaction to the scene in Lies of Omission isn't an outlier. It's not an anomaly. It's part of a history of characters of color being seen as valid by audiences when used as object in support of white characters and only in support of white characters. Fandom could care less about the full dynamic of that scene or how the entire situation was a tragedy enabled by both Scott and Stiles (and Theo). There's no respect for the story that the production was trying to tell, but that's nothing new. The minimization of empathy and interest in characters of color has been going on for a very long time; the characters may not hurt by it, but we are.

*pops into the MHA fandom after 3 years and sees the ending*: huh

*Proceeds to completely disregard the ending and starts reading fanfics and fanart instead and weirdly starts liking Kiribaku*

I was in the MHA fandom near when the anime started and I watched skits and stuff but never read any fanfics or an fanart. Big mistake now I recently discovered kacchako and Kiribaku fanfics and am going back into my MHA phase.

PLEASE GIVE ME KACCHAKO AND KIRIBAKU FANFICS TO READ (preferably fantasy I’m reading this really good beauty and the beast style one with Kiribaku rn)

Noe (from Vanitas) for the ask game, please....

My first impression: I kid you not, I freaked out when I first saw Noé. I've been writing since forever and you know how we have those characters that we create and stick with us? Yeah, I have a group like that. And Noé looks exactly how I imagined one of those characters to look like. Yes, skin, hair and eye colors are the same! Even both being vampires! Only differences are names, different personalities and my character isn't that tall and he's actually half vampire.

My impression now: I adore Noé so much! He really is my favorite character out of the whole cast.

Favorite thing about that character: Everything, but it's his personality that really got me. He's such a sweetheart, but he will get ruthless if he needs to.

Least favorite thing: Sometimes... Noé can stress me out... anytime he's fighting and gets in danger I'm just like "NOOOOOO".

Favorite line/scene: Almost every scene Noé is in I just love so much, but to choose a favorite has to be when he pretends to take Vanitas hostage and Vanitas freaks out because how scary Noé was.

Favorite interaction that character has with another: Of course, his interactions with Vanitas are my favorite interactions. Really like that whole scene they had on top of the bell tower.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: I would love to see skits of Noé with the dhampirs. Just them hanging out and whatnot. And Murr has to come along. I like Murr.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Yoichi Shigaraki from My Hero Academia. They have good hearts, tad but naive to world, but not afraid to take a stand for what they believe in. Also, funny enough, they are voiced by the same person (Stephen Fu) in dub.

A headcanon about that character: I headcanon that Noé's adoptive grandparents would sing him a song to comfort him whenever he felt down and he still remembers it. Whenever he's alone and feels some kind of way, he'll sing it to himself and he has no idea that others has caught him at those times. Turns out he's actually pretty good at singing and has a voice that can tug at heartstrings.

A song that reminds of that character: Alessia Cara's All We Know. I listen to those lyrics and I think of Noé. Just resonates with him, you know?

An unpopular opinion about that character: I actually don't have one for him!

Favorite picture: Noé had this range to him that he has that I admire, so a couple of shots of him I like are these. He's just so gorgeous!!
