Pick a musical song for each of your characters?
I already have Leo’s and Donnie’s down — Leo gets “My Grand Plan” from The Lightning Thief Musical, Donnie gets “The Bad Guy” from Ultimate Storytime!
Mikey would probably be either “Hakuna Matata” from Lion King or “Tomorrow” from Annie lol (though I’d also give him “Anything Can Happen” from Mary Poppins)
Tell me why Raph would get “(Just a) Simple Sponge” from the Spongebob Squarepants musical…? Or maybe “Pathetic” or “This Little Girl” from Matilda?
I wanna give April “Strong” from TLT, but then again she might identify a lot with “Who I’d Be” from Shrek the Musical
(As a joke) Draxum gets “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton (he actually gets “The Pitiful Children” from Be More Chill)
Big Mama gets “Stay With Me” from Into The Woods
Karai strikes me as a “No One is Alone” from Into the Woods type a gal — NO WAIT “PAPA CAN YOU HEAR ME?” FROM YENTYL OH MY GOD I’M GONNA CRY
Also since I gave basically everyone two songs I’ll add some extras to Leon and DvD—
Leo would probably get “Skid Row (Downtown)” from Little Shop of Horrors, though I do kinda like “Santa Fe” from Newsies too
Donnie might get “No More” from Into The Woods… it’s hard to find a song that really matches his character arc

3 Criminally Underrated Musicals (And why you should listen to them)
1) The Mad Ones
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Kerrigan and Lowdermilk's The Mad Ones. It shows an empty road disappearing into the distance under a starry sky. Full ID in alt text. End ID.]
You know that feeling of driving fast down an empty road with the windows down, the wind whipping through your hair? You know that feeling of being able to do anything you want, like the world is right at your fingertips, just waiting for you? You know that feeling of sitting in the middle of the woods with a good friend and thinking about how incredible it is that you live on the same planet at the same time?
Well, this is that feeling.
The Mad Ones is about Sam, who just graduated high school, and her friend Kelly, who died in a car accident before she could graduate. It's about Sam's journey in remembering Kelly and learning to live in the moment without her. It's also about freedom, and expectations, and living life to its fullest.
Also it has the phrase "kidnapped by aliens with enormous genitalia". What's not to love?
Seriously, this is one of my all time favourites and it has a very special place in my heart. I love to listen to it on those rare days when everything seems to be falling into place and it feels like life is actually going somewhere.
From a writing perspective, this is just an incredible masterpiece. The lyrics just stir something in my soul and the friendship between Kelly and Sam is just <33333 (Heart). It deserves so much more love than it gets.
2) The Lightning Thief
Tumblr media
[Image Description: The cover of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. It shows a blue brick wall with a yellow glowing lightning bolt symbol against it. Full ID in alt text. End ID.]
Okay, so the books are iconic and the movies sucked and the TV show is looking good but everyone's been sleeping on the musical for far too long. I had my doubts at the beginning too, I'll admit it, but honestly this slaps.
Although it isn't an exact one-to-one with the books, the vibes are spot on which is the most important thing anyways.
Percy is a sarcastic little shit, Annabeth is a total smartass, and Grover is... well, the impossible-to-explain awesomeness that is Grover Underwood. As funny as it is, though, there are some moments that just hit you right in the feels. The Tree on the Hill, anyone? My Grand Plan?
Also the Luke reveal gives me literal chills every time. It's so SO well done, much better than any other depiction in my humble opinion.
The whole thing is just an excellent balance of feels and humour and has some truly iconic lines. Case in point:
Percy: "Grover, you're a good friend." Grover: "Awwww. Dude, I'm your only friend."
Mr. D: "Oh, you're alive. I suppose that's good news for you but it means a lot more paperwork for me, so don't expect me to be happy to see you. Of course, being alive is temporary..."
Luke: "The Hermes cabin takes anyone who hasn't been claimed. You know what that means... we're literally the reject cabin. Welcome to the dysfunctional family!"
[Literally just the entirety of Luke's part in Their Sign]
Grover: "You hurt his feelings. Tell the squirrel you're sorry." Percy: "I am not saying sorry to a squirrel." Annabeth: "He's very sorry. Tell the squirrel you're sorry, Percy."
Alright, anyways! This is the Percy Jackson website, right? It's great, just listen to it.
Moving on!
3) 35MM: A Musical Exhibition
Tumblr media
[Image Description: The cover of 35MM: A Musical Exhibition. It's a red background with a black, ink-like camera design from above. Full ID in alt text. End ID.]
God, how do I even begin to explain 35MM?
There's so much going on here in the best way possible. It's not a traditional musical, at least not in the way people immediately think of musicals.
The idea behind 35MM is that there's multiple separate songs, each based on a photograph. That said, there are some theories about the level of connection between the songs and if they're even connected at all. Either way, it's absolutely incredible.
The songs all have different themes including babysitting a murder doll, a homicidal prom queen, a vampire love story, the young love car crash tragedy that lives in my heart forever, and many more! If you're a fan of the strange, unusual, and vaguely unsettling, this is the musical for you.
Although the fandom is small, it's incredibly dedicated and there are some truly wonderful animatics on YouTube to check out as well as some theory threads on Tumblr, Reddit, and basically anywhere else if you look hard enough.
I made the mistake of accidentally introducing my English professor to this musical so now you all can be introduced too!
And now some honourable mentions:
Islander
Islander is an acapella musical done entirely by two women. It tells the story of an island nation that was split in half long ago, with two girls (Each from one of the halves) meeting for the first time. It has a super cool Scottish folk song-style of music to it and just an incredible plot.
Jekyll & Hyde
Jekyll & Hyde is the musical adaptation of the famous gothic story. It's intense and dramatic in all the best ways and I Need to Know always sends shivers through me. The voices are incredible and it's just AHHH!! Wonderful! Also Confrontation is a work of art and nobody can tell me otherwise.
36 Questions
36 Questions is kind of unique in that it's a podcast musical, meaning that there's no stage performance. In the most basic terms, it's about two people trying to fix their marriage with the whole '36 questions to help strangers fall in love' type thing. Part of one of the songs, For the Record, was a popular song on TikTok a few years back so it may be somewhat familiar to folks. Either way, worth a listen!

Things I'm looking forward to: video edits on youtube with the music from the Lightning thief musical and the show.
We deserve a Good kid tribute for Percy (and maybe the reprise with Luke), my grand plan with Annabeth and the tree on the hill for Grover.

Okay I've decided there's way too little selkie Percy Jackson content on this webbed site so here's my contribution:
You know those awful tales where the (usually female) selkie's skin is stolen and she has to be the asshole thief's spouse until she can either steal it back or be rescued by someone else?
I'm thinking about percabeth in a similar situation.
Imagine this: Annabeth aboard the Princess Andromeda, after Luke convinces her and some other demigods to join him in his rebellion against the gods. She is twelve years old and filled to the brim with anger. The gods do not care about her, or any of their children. They are pawns to them—faceless soldiers to use and nothing more.
It is this anger that motivates her to join Luke. It is this anger that brings her here, standing on the deck of Kronos's ship, harpoon in hand, staring into the churning sea below. Storm clouds gather ominously above as thunder crashes distantly— a telltale sign of another fight between zeus and poseidon.
The world is in chaos, with the lightning bolt and helm missing (stolen) the gods have only each other to blame. Most coastal regions are underwater now, and the storms never let up. It's miserable. She hasn't seen the sun in weeks.
But it won't be so for long. The gods are sufficiently distracted, too absorbed in their petty squabbles to notice them (not that they were ever paying attention) and it leaves them free to carry out their plans without any interference.
So here she is, her anger churning in her mind like the sea below, her grey eyes scanning the frothing depths for any movement. Something flits in her periphery vision– a seal's tail lightly breaking surface, a tanned hand curiously pressing against Andromeda's hull, an echoing bark drifting over the waves. She clutches her harpoon tighter.
Tonight, Annabeth Chase is hunting selkies.
-------------------------------------------------
For context, this is a really underdeveloped au where Percy is born a selkie and Sally asks Poseidon to take them someplace they can hide from Percy the gods and the mortals. So Percy grows up half feral, swimming with seals and knowing nothing of the world on land. The only human he's ever seen is Sally. Due to Poseidon's protections the monsters never find them so Percy never ends up going to camp half blood.
Meanwhile in camp, Luke is staging his grand rebellion and needs a certain prophesied potential destroyer of Olympus to join it. All Annabeth sees in her dreams are green eyes in the depths.

So I was practicing My Grand Plan from the Lightning Thief because I want to be able to sing it for something and I thought I sounded fine when I sang along to the soundtrack
I did it to the instrumental and you’d think I’ve never sang before in my life

HOT TAKE ALERT but i will never shut up about the tlt musical because i genuinely believe it might be the best adaptation of the lightning thief so far
like don’t get me wrong i love the show and i think it one hundred percent serves its purpose at creating something that will draw new fans in, but the musical just felt like such a love letter to the books and managed to capture the tone in a way that i don’t think the show has yet to do
even more than that i felt like it just understood the characters sooo well. like pls go and listen to ‘good kid’ and tell me that’s not biblically accurate twelve year old percy jackson. he just wants to be a good kid guys!! six schools in six years :(( ‘my grand plan’??? oh my god annabeth chase (which also reminds me of another one of my gripes with the show: i feel like Show annabeths love for architecture comes more from her desire to be connected with her mother than her fatal flaw - her pride - and her deepest fears of abandonment). like please guys go and listen to my grand plan if you haven’t already. don’t even get me started on ‘tree on the hill’ either. like??! ‘maybe if i’d been a little bit braver / maybe if i’d stayed behind to fight / but maybe doesn’t let me go back and save her / maybe doesn’t make it all right’????!!!!!
like don’t get me wrong i love the show and i think it’s serving it’s purpose perfectly and i love seeing the way these characters are being adapted (and i think the actors are doing an incredible job) but the musical will just always have a soft spot in my heart for perfectly capturing the tone and characters. like they’re annoying twelve years olds!! let them be annoying twelce year olds!! i also think it’s largely due ro form! when you’re watching a musical, you have a high suspension of disbelief which i think reallt worked in the musicals favour to create this reallt fun, silly, self-aware, distinctly Percy Jackson tone!!
i wasn’t aware i feel this passionately abojt the musical (and i still have more to say: keep an eye out for a longer rant incoming i think) but all this to say if you’re a pjo fan check out the musical!! if anyone wants a link to watch it on yt just message me!

Chimera Moodboard
Tumblr media
Baby Emo tm
She is almost four years younger than Stella and the two are getting closer by the day, Stella already sees Chimera as the baby sister she always wanted
She is a moon fairy and is kinda insecure about it since in Solaria it is considered bad luck to be a moon fairy but she is working on that and starting to embrace her powers. She’ll start her first year at Alfea in s4
Overall, she is really working on her insecurities and determined to be a better fairy to make up for her actions while under Valtor’s influence
gold rush by Taylor Swift, Easy by Camilla Cabello and My Grand Plan from the Lightning Thief Musical are her songs
4/5

Hey Nina 💜,
1, 3, 26, 95 and 100 for the ask thingie
hiii <333
The meaning behind my url:
My url is from a fandom I've been in since like, 13 years old but specifically the musical adaptation namely, the wonderful musical that is The Lightning Thief. in it, one of the characters sings a song (My Grand Plan) about how she just wants to be remembered and well... mygrandplan was taken but hergrandplan wasn't lol
3. How many tattoos I have and what they are:
I currently have two tattoos, both on my arm. One is a fineline/minimalistic rendition of daffodils and another flower i can't remember the name of, and one is a moon in a bottle. I have a third one planned that I'm gonna get in fall, which will be dragonflies and the words "way to go tiger" on my leg.
26. What's one thing you regret?
to counteract what I posted previously. Not getting into Young Royals sooner lol
95. Have you ever laughed so hard you cried?
YES actually. Last week. I'm not going to share why (because... it was maybe inappropriate) but my stomach and cheeks hurt and I was almost late to rehearsal but it still remains one of the funniest things ever. Also i strangely cry a lot when I laugh at work???? Like in a genuine laugh cry stomach hurting kinda way
Get in my business asks <3

OH MY GOSH
I forgot to post this earlier.
My friend was helping me work on theatre songs, and I'm an alto, but sometimes I can be a mezzo-soprano. Anyway, she was helping me with "My Grand Plan" from The Lightning Thief musical, and her advice was to basically shout the lyrics. I have never hit a note better. It was magical.

Are there any songs you listen to that make you think of Until I Found You?
I WAS ACTUALLY KINDA HOPING SOMEONE WAS GONNA ASK ME THIS HEHEHEHEHE
I know several songs that remind me of specific characters!
When I hear the song "The Mind Electric" by Chonny Jash, I hear it as a Draxum monologue. THE MUSIC SOUNDS JUST LIKE HIM, and the lyrics fit too! IT'S PERFECT FOR HIM.
I was listening to "My Grand Plan" from the Lightning Thief musical, and it sounds like Leo's anthem to me now lol
And everytime I sing the song "You Are My Sunshine" I think of Mikey.
(I just went on Spotify to try and find songs that sound like Donnie and Raph to me. The closest I could get for the moment is "The Pretender" by Lewis Capaldi for Raph. As for Donnie, a lot of the time when I hear instrumentals, soundtrack, or orchestral music it sounds like him.)
Oh yeah and there is one song that makes me think of the AU as a whole! Not sure why, since the song has nothing to do with what the story is about, but I love the vibe from the music and tune (especially from the piano version) and I listened to it a lot when I was working on the plot and writing it.
The song is "Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez.
It's where I got the name for the fic!
