Ashton Character Profile

Ashton, originally labeled E12-19, is a last-wave genetically Altered supersoldier created by Caduceus Technologies before the Fall. He escaped during the revolt of soldiers against their creators and fled. Encouraged by a rogue employee that he is a person, not a thing as Caduceus asserted, Ashton was set loose alone in the wastelands of a freshly fallen society. Shortly after he found Dev and they banded together to survive a world that hated them.

Ashton stands his tallest at 7' 1". Usually, he slouches, at first out of fear of being more of a target, then as they began integrating into human settlements, he began consciously slouching, to appear less frightening. Like all Altered, he has enhanced strength, stamina, and senses, especially hearing. His experiment group also is the only Altered group to sport digitigrade legs and paws for added speed and agility.

When Ashton was a teenager, he cut off his right ear that bore the Caduceus serial number as protest and a literal severance from his past. Ashton is a forward thinker, influenced by the novels he consumes voraciously, and can be a little theatrical about things.

Despite the fears that come from being so different, Ashton works tirelessly to prove the Altered are, deep down, no different than any other human. He fights every day to combat the commonly held view that Altered soldiers are mindless killing machines, or at worst, less feeling than even their animal likenesses. He's built his whole life around learning how to be more human. He reads, he writes, he taught himself how to draw and sign ASL, he studies everything he can get his hands on. Later, after he and Dev and the other survivors in his settlement found some security, he started teaching, mostly doing outreach about the truth about Altered people with an intersectional approach. He is fussy about language: he'll correct anyone's mistake if they call the Altered 'soldiers' or make insensitive animal jokes. He was the one that brought structure to the original band of Altered (himself, Dev, Jules, and Cain). He insisted they all name themselves, like people, and adhere to rules like 'no teeth'... the Altered are people, so it's unbecoming (and alienating) to make a show of their sharp teeth.

Over the course of books 2 and 3, Ashton sustained a nearly completely crippling injury on his left foot. A brace was made for him, so he wears that for long trips or work days, but limps a little when he doesn't feel like wearing it. His feet bear the most scars from poor living conditions in his youth in the wastelands and are usually in a state of dirtiness and wear from never wearing shoes. (Some of his fellows have joked they’d scavenge some dog booties for him, which he adamantly refuses on moral principle but also, the Altered don’t usually need shoes, him especially.) He sometimes has to take power sanders to his left foot's toenails since they don't naturally wear down anymore. He also has signs of a past broken nose, a fake top left canine (custom!), and a few arrow/bullet hole scars here and there, mostly hidden by fur.

His fur is longer in the neck, cape, elbows, hocks, tail, and withers, like a real borzoi. The brown spots over his eyes and lower back are brindle. Ashton wants to belong. He is highly motivated by acceptance and praise. He knows he's a human and wants to make the world safer for everyone, especially Altered people. Now, with life among the humans, Ashton works tirelessly to be a good example of a model Altered citizen. He is charismatic, outgoing, social, and always trying to do better. Ashton isn't terribly good at moderating his intensity, can let his temper get the best of him at times, and struggles with feelings of frustration. His partners Dev and Sybil admire his gumption but also know when he needs a reminder to take a break. Ashton wants to save everyone, knows he can't, but will try anyway.

Ashton has a wide vocabulary and some people are irritated at his tendency to directly quote from books or recite Shakespeare. He sees this behavior as very-human and thus a good thing for an Altered to do, but a lot of people just think he’s kind of a know-it-all. Sybil calls him a nerd, and she's right. However, the children of the settlement are all quite fond of him, mostly due to the best piggy-back rides ever, but also because he'll do the voices when reading a story. Been rereading the Discworld City Watch series coz those books are like crack laced with serotonin and I think Carrot is simultaneously one of the best and most terrifying characters in Discworld.

When, right at the end Cruces is telling Carrot he's a long lost king and has the documentation to prove. Carrot walks over to it, takes a read and while Cruces is doing his villain monologue, stabs him through the chest. It's quick and clean and Carrot doesn't even bat an eye that he just took a man's life on purpose.

I say on purpose because my boi literally committed manslaughter in the previous book when he threw the Law and Ordinances at Wonse. He didn't seem to miffed then either, aside from the fact he just misunderstood an order from a superior.

Granted it's a funny joke and Wonse was a bastard but Carrot doesn't seem to react to it.

Like, throughout the books Vimes constantly struggles with the urge to just go ham and remove all the people causing the problems. He's constantly faced with the cynicism and cruelty and just the sheer stupidity of the world and always tries to do the moral thing, to do it by the book because as he says, "if you can do it for a good reason, you can do it for a bad reason." He's in the grey between black and white.

Carrot on the other hand doesn't really seem to mind. We never really see what Carrot is thinking (probably because he's so honest he just flat out says it) so it's hard to parcel how he feels about things.

My headcanon is he killed Wonse by accident, never thought about it again and then killed Cruces when he realized Cruces was a greater threat than he realized plus was about to kill Vimes. You could say the same about him skewering a werewolf later on in Fifth Element, but that was a survival situation I feel. Granted he never really kills again but I like to think if Carrot was face to face with Carcer or Stratford it would've been a very short conversation.

I think that's another reason why Vimes keeps a close eye on Carrot. Imagine doing your best to live life by a strict set of moral principles only to have your charismatic, well beloved second-in-command simply kill a man in front of you then tell you without blinking you had a wedding to go to.

Carrot even says "Personal doesn't mean important" which kind of tells me that no matter what his feelings on the subject, he's going to try to do the right thing.

And he killed Cruces for, I feel, a good reason.

He's a good man who'll kill you without a word and Vimes is a good man who'll kill you when there's no other acceptable option.

Vimes is the grey and Carrot is the white that gets dirty.

Thoughts on the transformers one movie?

SURE!!

First off the movie looks amazing, the ost is incredible, the voice acting is pretty good and the writing is Awesome! The pacing a little fast, the story movie kinda quickly which is fine, I’d rather have a fast movie then a slow one.

You can tell the actors really cared about this movie, I have never seen actors get this much into the marketing for anything! Brian Tyree Henry did an amazing job for Megatron, by far he was the best.

There was plenty of action! The fighting and weight of the character was great, you can tell they were really hitting each other hard. This movie had a lot of love put into it. Incredible watching experience.

D16 was the star of the show! In my opinion at least! They were able to capture the innocence and the loss of that innocence really well. The slight character tics also didn’t get past me and did a lot to add to the emotions the character were showing.

I loved this movie, and I will be watching more as soon as I can! I accidentally missed that end credits scene. We were just too excited and wanted to talk about it!

Bee is the goofster to the group. Very cute and very funny. He really didn’t have an arc either and I wish he did. Bee was mostly there to serve as the comedic relief. And honestly I think we all needed. He wasn’t ever too annoying or obnoxiously stupid. I very much enjoyed him!

Sentinel Prime

God what a fantastic villain he was! Kinda sad he died. I always knew Dee would kill him. He was just as pompous and trashy diplomat as I hoped. Such good lines from him. He died like a dog and couldn’t be happier. We didn’t get to see his alt mode which made me kind of sad. He’s like a mega church pastor! They are usually secretly evil. Him turning the tides of the battle with the primes is something else dude.

ORION

Oh god here we go. His character was just fantastic! I’m really happy we are getting an origin story. His personality being the adventurists, rowdy, troublesome questioner is so cool! And such a big contrast to the usual iterations of Orion pax. He’s stray kitten coded. His young age makes him optimistic, selfish and naive. It also causes him to mistreat Dee; having the best intentions of course, even tho he completely disregards what Dee feels. It started off as him just wanting to be seen and help his people to everything quickly getting out of hand and him losing his best friend. I’m sure he regrets making Dee participate in that race. His issue just being childlike innocence and being self centered.

DEE (aka Dean. Aka Megatron.)

Oh god y’all aren’t ready for this one!

Dee starts off as the goodest boy. Will of whimsy! But like most villains all it takes is one bad day. Oh Dee you poor thing. If robots could cry he would have like four times in this movie.

Good Christian boy. Followed the rules, didn’t ask questions and had unwavering love for the Primes. Megatronus and Sentinel being the big two.

It’s cool to think of Dee eyes being a dead giveaway to how he’s feeling. Betraying him even in the final scene.

“NO, I WANT TO KILL HIM!”

This part! This is my favorite part of the whole movie. Dee had the audience full attention. The desperation, sadness and anger in his voice. Fantastic! As D16’s friend, this needed to be addressed immediately. But I can understand Orion not knowing what to say or how to comfort him, cause as a kid yourself what do you even say to that?? Orion always knew something was wrong, he was the questioner, but to Dee this was his life. To Orion, Sentinel Prime’s betrayal wasn’t that deep. But this was Dee’s life, he followed them without question, just to see his hero struck down in cold blood. His anger is something Orion can’t comprehend, he never knew he had that in him. I think Orion could probably right this off the first time but it wouldn’t be that last time D16 would start scaring Orion.

I’ve always heard people describe Dee has flipping his personality. There is no flip. Dee is deceptively passive. His whole life has been flipped and need Orions support. But sadly that moment would never show up. I don’t even think Orion would know how to go about it since he was so focused on his goal. My mom said Orion was a bit irritating because  he couldn’t properly read his friend.

At first I thought he had carved this into himself. Which is bad, really bad. But I think Sentinel doing it to him actually makes it worse. He hasn’t just mutilated Dee once, But twice. He took something he liked, something that was special, something that was a symbol of him and Orions friendship and made it cause him pain. It’s like the last of his innocence being taken away from him.

So when he was trying to kill Sentinels and Orion was holding him back he said “He needs to die.” And that last part sounding so emotional hits so hard. He loved Sentinel. You can hear the hurt and sadness in his voice for megatronus prime, sentinel the other miners, but mostly for himself. And almost all that hurt Orion had to say “you’ll be like sentinel.”

Oh brother that was no the move. Immediately upon it being compared to sentinel by his best friend, the rage returned. Blinded by his rage he accidentally shot Orion.

Finally we have Megatron. Bro is on his Kratos arc. Sentinel was driven by greed. Megatron is driven by his hate and anger.

This by far the best transformers movie. I think ever.

Lads I do not remember if I read about this from one of you on Tumblr or if I was talking to my bestie or if perhaps I was just daydreaming all along BUT I have not been able to stop thinking about the ghouls needing to have their claws trimmed on tour and their different reactions 😭 like fully I am imagining Copia sitting on the bus with fucking dog nail clippers because they've been touring long enough that their claws have grown back out and it's time to knock them back before they get to their next hotel. Please if someone has made a post about this send it to me I feel that I'm losing my mind!!! Anyway, here's how I think each of the ghouls behave!!!

Aurora: The goodest girl. Perfect princess. Only whines a little until Papa gives her a little piece of candy to suck on for her trim. She gets a little kiss on her head after each snip, so by the end she's purring and happy swishing her tail. She's a treasure.

Rain: A bit fussy, but overall just about as perfect a princess as Aurora. He'll try to yank out of Copia’s grip here and there if he thinks he has the clipper up too high on his claw. He doesn't mind trimming them a bit but Papa can you PLEASE leave them a LITTLE long??? Also gets lots of kisses, a nice pat on the butt when he's sent away to get the next in line.

Cirrus: She's very good and still, but SUPER tense because she hate hate hates the sound and the feeling of the nail trimmers snapping her claws off. It makes her skin absolutely crawl. She wears headphones and listens to music and it helps, but she does have a low growl going the whole time, tail lashing a bit. Copia goes very quickly for her, and then she gets a nice shoulder massage and kisses.

Mountain: A bit like Cirrus, the feeling bugs him a lot. His ears flick with each snip, and he will whine about it. He's gotten MUCH better at not flinching though, which Copia's once-bruised ribs are very grateful for. But Copia is very good at what he does and it's over quickly. He always makes a nice cup of tea before he trims Mounty's claws so he can send him off to relax right after.

Cumulus: This girlie does not appreciate a nail trim. She tries very hard to wheedle out of it. Oh, Papa, I have to go to the bathroom, my stomach is bugging me. Oh, Papa, I need a snack first. Oh, Papa... could we spend some alone time together first~ I need you~ Copia does have to get stern with her sometimes. It's just a few moments, my love. Come now, be a good ghoul for your Papa. And she will... but her tail is twitchy and she's pouting and whining the whole time.

Swiss: Truly a good boy! Doesn't mind a trim. It's a bit annoying, but he likes the attention from Copia. Copia also is a bit more fussy with Swiss' claws, as they tend to be a bit dryer and more brittle than the others (tour kinda dries him out), so he's grateful Swiss is good. He's always sure to rub in some good cream and file and shape them a bit so they don't snag and snap on anything. Swiss is purring the entire time, leaning in for an affectionate nuzzle or head bump here and there. Papa showers him with affection the whole time, praising his sweet ghoul, let's take care of you, my beloved.

Phantom: Pathetic. The saddest, wettest eyes. Acts like Papa is mad at him and this is his horrible, wretched punishment. He slinks in, tail wrapped tight around his leg. He kind of ragdolls too, making it hard to maneuver him for a good trim. Copia is patient with him though, believes he'll be fine with it someday as long as his experiences are always calm and gentle. Phantom gets to sit in Papa's lap for his nail trims, held close and cuddled the entire time. Like Rory, he gets a kiss between each snip, but also back rubs, soft reassurances, lots of praise. Eventually he discovers Phantom is perfectly happy and content to sit still and purr in Papa's lap during his trim if they get to listen to music together or if Copia turns on a video for Phantom to watch during his trim.

Dew: Oh, the problem ghoul. He has come a looooooong way. This poor ghoul used to not be able to get through a nail trim without a sedative and a muzzle and an extra set of hands to help hold him still. He would beg and plead to not have to do it, I'll be good Papa I promise I promise I will be so careful not to scratch up the hotel bedding or the towels or the floors! He hates the sound, he hates the feeling, but most of all he hates disappointing Papa. So now, Dew gets to wait until they make it to their hotel, and he can take a long, hot shower to relax and soften his claws a bit beforehand. Papa just holds him for a while and takes deep breaths with him. Waits for his tail to go still, or just a single thump here and there. Sometimes they have to wait a few minutes between each clip for Dew to calm back down. When he's all done Papa absolutely spoils him. They cuddle up and turn on a calm movie, Dew gets back rubs and praise and smooches.

(Aether, who trims Dew's claws at home, HAS accused him of faking it for attention. Dew vehemently denies it, of course.)

Sir Lewis Hamiltion has a dog, his dog is the goodest boy in the world, and I know too much about his dog so now you must suffer with this knowledge as well enjoy:

Lewis adopted Roscoe, a English bulldog, from an online adoption agency in 2013.Roscoe is a purebred bulldog with both his mom and dad being show dogs. Roscoe's name was chosen because Lewis thought it but Crofty calling Nico ‘Roscoe’ at the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix makes me have my doubts. Lewis later adopted Coco, a female bulldog. Coco’s breeder was originally going to put her down due to how expensive her health conditions, mostly likely a heart condition, were but Lewis stepped in. If you are trying to tell Coco and Roscoe apart in photos, Coco has a wider white stripe on her head. It is widest around the top of her head. Roscoe has more wrinkles and a brown spot on his snout and his strip ends at the top of his head and a new one starts off center in the back of his head. Coco’s fang teeth are also out more often compared to Roscoe's little teeth and she is a lighter color than Roscoe. Lewis expressed that he adopted the dog because his family has always had dogs, mostly labradors, but he said he always wanted an English bulldog. Coco lived till June 2020 when she passed in the night. Lewis and Roscoe were with her. His mom has five dogs! Both Roscoe and Coco have passports so they can travel with Lewis. Lewis was also granted special permission from Bernie Ecclestone to bring the dogs to the padlock (I assume Charles will ask Domenicali to bring Leo to the Padlock). 

Lewis brought a jet to fly with the dogs which he then sold in 2019. Roscoe is good with traveling due to his love of napping. In his first trip with Lewis he slept through most of the flight waking up to go to the bathroom and to make Lewis put him in his lap. Lewis followed Roscoe's command, sleeping with Roscoe in his lap like “a baby.” Lewis said, “Roscoe is the best travel pet, he just sleeps with you.” As Roscoe is getting older, Lewis has made the decision to travel less with him, as the time zones were getting hard on him. While Lewis is racing, Roscoe stays in Los Angeles, California with dog trainer Kirstin McMillan (adventuresindogtraining on instagram). Lewis says he gets pictures of Roscoe everyday and checks in on him. Roscoe also attends a dog park or “Los Angeles' first canine social club” as stated on their website called ‘Dog PPL’ in Santa Monica. It is about $120 a month for one dog.  

Not only is Roscoe Lewis’s son but also his best friend. Lewis talked about his instant connection when they first met. Roscoe gets sad when Lewis leaves and happy when he returns. Lewis says, “Then I get the Frisbee and play with him, and that’s, for me, the biggest highlight – the unconditional love you get from a pet like that.” Roscoe loves quad bikes. In one interview, Lewis said it’s because he’s lazy so he likes being driven around. However, I think it’s because he has taken after his dad and wants to race. Roscoe also loves frisbee and his ball; it seems like he enjoys fetching and chasing after things, like chasing other cars down… Roscoe WDC 2024 confirmed. Lewis also has Roscoe involved in many of his projects, Lewis has hinted that Roscoe has a cameo in ‘Apex’, his movie starring Brad Pitt. When Fortnite asked him to be in the game he said he would only agree if Roscoe was in the game with him. Fortnite, of course, agreed because Roscoe is an angel. They ended up putting him in a jet pack. He was 1,500 V-Bucks or 2,400 V-Bucks with the ‘Lewis Hamilton Budle’ (IDK if thats a lot I don’t play Fortnite). Lewis also said Roscoe is the only person he can count on to stand with him along with Bono.

After Coco’s death, Lewis took Roscoe to the vet where they recommended starting him on a vegan diet similar to what Lewis has. This vegan diet is often recommended to bulldogs because they often have food intolerances or allergies to the meat proteins that can affect the skin and gastrointestinal tract. The vegan diet Roscoe is on still includes the same things without the meat proteins in it that caused him to have health issues. Lewis has said his breathing has improved and that he no longer has skin allergies. Roscoe also has physical therapy and acupuncture every week to help with his joints.  Roscoe has also had health issues that caused him to ejaculate, often uncontrollably, scaring baby Roscoe and leading to him getting snipped in 2016. Lewis did have his sperm frozen so that Roscoe could have puppies. Lewis said, “It’s great his genes will live on.” Lewis said his plans were to have Roscoe’s puppies after he retires but with the fanzone in 2024 Australia GP, it sounds to me like he may be looking sooner to have Roscoe’s pups or to retire. Last year, around the British GP, Roscoe had some issues regarding his spine. If I remember correctly, it involved a slipped hernia in his spine. Luckily, he got stem therapy and was able to attend the GP. He has been improving, and as of today he is back to normal.

Now for the part most people know about. Roscoe started his instagram account, roscoelovescoco, in January 2015 with a post featuring Coco and him captioned “Thanks for following us :).” The instagram account was originally a joint account with both Coco and Roscoe until 2020, although both did get solo posts. As expected Roscoe does make money off his Instagram, but he is also a dog model. Lewis said in a Silver Arrows interview in 2021 that he gets paid $700 a day which goes in Roscoe's treat fund. Roscoe also has sponsorships. His Thanksgiving party was sponsored by Bramble Pets, and he did content (including a commercial) for Zapp, a food delivery company Lewis invested in. Roscoe also appears in Lewis' vlog channel (it hasn’t been updated since 2021) multiple times. His last appearance is in a video “Adventures with Roscoe! | Lewis Hamilton Vlogs” which is also the last updated video on Lewis channel. He reached 1 million followers in 2024, which is more than Chouprette Lagerfield, the cat of Karl Lagerfeld (I am not joking, this man left a good chunk of his fortune [~$300 million] to his cat). Roscoe’s captions on his instagram posts were originally typed in a sort of third person first person mix but in October 2020, Roscoe finally established his first first person post with his famous lisp. However, the conspiracy expands as prior to this first lisp post, there are two posts on instagram where Roscoe (and Coco) are talking to us. The first one was posted April 2024 with Roscoe saying, ‘They put a thermometer up me bum, dad!’ In this speech bubble, Roscoe doesn’t have a lisp but does speak in a sort of baby talk. The next post in October 2017 features both Roscoe and Coco with Roscoe saying, “We got acupuncture today Dad!” and Coco saying, “It’s my favorite.” (More info about the dogs getting acupuncture is in the health section.) I will note his lisp comes and goes on his posts around November 2020. His lisp finally stays and its intensity does increase. There are also a few posts taken with Mercedes that don’t feature the lisp, and a few posts talking about Roscoe or Coco written in their “Dad’s” pov where it obviously doesn’t use a lisp.

Manga:

Fullmetal Alchemist- the gold standard

Silver Spoon- by the same person who did FMA. Agricultural school stuff. Cute.

Agravity Boys- space sci-fi gag comedy, a wild ride to say the least, I miss my stupid boys

Magu-chan: God of Destruction- cute digimon/pokemon-shaped gods get woken up and mingle with a bunch of middle schoolers. Cute fluff mostly, will occasionally pull at your heartstrings (including the ending)

High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku- comedy/ slice of life, about an entire family attending high school. Has a volleyball arc that rivals the likes in haikyuu!!

Haikyuu!!-sports manga, if you want to cry over boys and their love for the game then this is for you, Boys x Volleyball is the tru otp of the show

Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku- dark historical fantasy, so very, very good. Don't get attached.

Dr. STONE- sci fi, technically the main story is complete. We still have been getting the occasional side chapter or three that continue where the main story left off tho. A very solid shonen jump series. includes one of the best shonen jump dads in the history of ever. Will make u emotional over lightbulbs and stuff. hard not to root for the main cast.

Dr. STONE Reboot: Byakuya- a non-canon little one volume spin-off about byakuya and mainly about a funky lil robot that will make you sob uncontrollably I'd personally say to read up to the end of the Treasure Island arc in the main story first before tackling this one (about ch 140ish)

Dr. STONE 4D Science- a continuation of the main story, only a couple chapters, the ending is a really cruel tease imo and if Inagaki/Boichi don't give us more may they be cursed to lose all their left shoes forever

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Sanji- spin-off of sanji side stories by the duo who did food Wars. ONE PIECE related ofc. Tasty looking food. Sanji too cool for school. One volume.

Astra Lost in Space- space sci fi survival, solid story that deserves more appreciation, the ending is just a tad lackluster in actually showing what a lot of readers would have liked to physically see. By no means ruins the story tho.

Blue Flag (Ao no Flag)- high school, romance, slice of life, boys and gals just trying to figure out life and relationships. Solid.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles- gag comedy that leans a little too much into the shonen battle-esque stuff towards the end imo, but a decently enjoyable time. A mash up of Harry Potter and other various manga like mob, opm, etc.

Mitama Security: Spirit Busters- comedy, axed but I enjoyed it. Goofy fun. nothing spectacular but reading it won't hurt anyone.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes- spin-off of mha obviously, average joe Koichi >>> deku FIGHT ME, the goodest of boys, world building u don't get in the main series, Aizawa's backstory, Knuckleduster is the man the myth the legend.

Chihayafuru- screaming crying throwing up, it's niche it's technically a sports manga, romance, female MC, growth™, love triangle but at the end of the day that's not what's important

My Love Mix-Up!- comedy romance, big big mix-up on who loves who and lots of shenanigans ensue.

Noragami- TECHNICALLY not complete until like 2 days from now when the final chapter releases. my emotions! MY EMOTIONS!!!! 😭

Gintama- comedy/gag with dashes of really good drama

I have no idea what your tastes are, anon, so here's a mix that I've personally enjoyed. Some of them were axed, but technically that makes them complete so I included them :P yes I cheated.

Anime:

There's a lot less of them bc I haven't actually watched a lot of completed series.

Run with the Wind- more boys x sports but this time it's about running. Also the boys are in college. Will trick u into wanting to run.

91 days- ol timey story about VENGEANCE. Set during the prohibition.

Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann- makes you emotional and feel all fuzzy inside, sci fi, mecha

Cowboy Bebop- a classic

Samurai Champloo- also a classic and I actually prefer this one over cowboy bebop tbh, god tier baseball episode

Astra Lost in Space-the anime version, if you'd prefer watching over reading, but I always prefer manga > anime just cause.

FMA 03/FMA BROTHERHOOD- the gold standard. I appreciate both versions. 03 goes the anime original ending root bc obviously the manga wasn't completed yet no biggie.

Mob Psycho 100- MOB!MOB!MOB! and tumblr sexy man reigen arataka

Gintama- animated version alternative lol. The voice actors bring the characters to life.

Obv there are the old school classics like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Gundam and all that jazz if you haven't already checked out some of those. Oldies but goodies.

No word of a lie, I'm smiling so hard right now (and thinking of reasons to tell my husband that isn't "im Hesh Whore #2, yes. The character from the game we first played together. Yes thats what my sign off is) because that screenshot made me so warm and fuzzy inside.

And bizzare headcanons because bringing joy to others makes me happy (and I want to help bring more content to our loveable dude).

So, could you imagine Hesh dating someone who's scared of dogs (well after they've started dating and things have gotten pretty serious). Because he's a package duo with Logan and Riley (his brother and his furry son).

Like, over the months of dating this doof you somehow never met/realized that Riley belongs to him (the dog food bowls, kennel that's rarely used, dog beds, toys, dog food and treats weren't a dead giveaway that your man owns a dog). You knew of the German Shepard, and from a distance thought he was rad. Just a neat little dude that your boyfriends brother owned (because in this world Logan let's Riley sleep over quite often).

But you've also seen/heard of what military K9s can do. You've heard the Ghosts brag about Riley's achievements (they're all proud of their goodest boy). So to say you're scared of the day when you have to meet this dog is an understatement. Due to an unfortunate run in as a child (or something) that left you as a cat person.

You're not expecting to visit and be greeted by a dog. Hesh isn't expecting for you to scream and back right up from his dog just about in tears when you come visit.

As much as he loves Riley, he feels his heart sink right to his toes thinking you got hurt. Considering the fact that Riley is a military trained dog, and hasn't met you yet. Hesh does end up feeling bad after because when he realized you were fine and just spooked by the dog he did chuckle a bit and pet the good boy while telling you his name (he found it endearing - not realizing quite how scared you actually were).

Of course when he realized you weren't playing and you were shaking in your boots with tears in your eyes he brought Riley into the backyard and hugged you tighter than ever whispering about how sorry he was into your hair. Holding you until you stopped shaking and were ready to talk.

To say he feels like a bag of dicks when he realizes he never warned you (or really talked pets) with you before this is an understatement. This man is shattered. But also thinking of ideas to suggest to help you co-habit the space with its other owner (Riley). Offering to have Logan pick the dog up tonight if you're uncomfortable with him around right now (but that the dog is a huge part of his life just like you and he isn't willing to give up the animal that's been in his life since he was 17).

When you decide you're ready to meet his best friend, he goes to the ends of the world to make sure you're comfortable. Telling you that at any point you can back out and he won't be mad (but is super proud and happy you're trying for him). The first time he doesn't even make you interact. He's cuddling with you on the couch watching a movie while Riley and Logan sit across the room. See, he's not going to pounce. He's not like that, and we wouldn't let him anyway

The next time you put out a shaky hand for Riley to sniff (while squeezing Hesh's hand so hard he could've swore you almost broke something - even though Logan had a handle on Rileys vest the entire time).

A bigger, surprising was when you walked up to the dog without either of the Walker brothers holding him, or having him on leash and patted the top of his head on your own accord. Nobody can agree who was more excited that day. You, Hesh, Logan or Riley (spoiler: Riley was the most excited because you're realizing he's a good boy :D)

After that you slowly started warming up to the idea of this dog. Joining on his walks (sometimes asking to hold the leash and being surprised at how gentle he is when you're walking him), petting him if you're in arms length, giving small commands when Hesh or Logan is around (Riley gets very excited with "give paw" because its like he's making important buisness deals), or giving him treats from your hands.

The most memorable step (that made Hesh tear up and the picture remains as his lock screen), was the night he got called to base after supper for a couple hours. Riley was home, you were visiting and he wasn't able to bring the dog along. So he put Riley in the kennel (with a promise that he'd let him out as soon as he was home - because you were still unsure about the dog out in the house without either brother around).

The fear that struck in Hesh's chest when he got back and noticed the kennel was empty almost caused him to drop to the floor. His goodest boy wouldn't break out, you were still spooked of the dog, what happened???

But that fear was quickly replaced by love and warmth when he got to the bedroom and saw the two of you cuddling asleep. He must have made an audible "awww" after taking a quick picture because you woke up, one arm still around Riley.

"He looked sad and lonely, the bed was cold and we both missed you" you tiredly explained, guesturing for Hesh to come join the cuddle puddle.

It was safe to say that after that night Riley was an exception to the "im not a dog person" rule. (And he was totally the flower dog at the wedding)

Hesh Whore #2 (who loves dogs, and cats and guinea pigs. And has 2 of each listed animal)

First of all, I think you’re missing the big picture. Your husband can become Hesh whore #4 and then all will be well.

Second of all, I’m a massive dog person (allergic to cats unfortunately) and this may have reduced me to tears. Every little scene genuinely makes me wanna crawl out of a hole and draw again. Like if there are any cod artists out there that need comic ideas, I mean come on!

Third of all, you should so be writing fics! I think we all agree.

And lastly, falling asleep with Riley will always be my little daydream. I don’t know how your knew -.- suspicious.
