So I've been thinking, Sonic and Tails 'fight or flight' instincts switch as they get older.

Let me elaborate.

So growing up Sonic was pure fight instinct when he was younger. Just head first into any fight and he's not backing down for nothing, he's gonna find a way to win that fight no matter what.

But as he gets older he's got Tails to look after and all their other friends that follow him into danger. So now he's more willing to take an L, pull back, regroup and think of a plan in, relative, safety. So he's still not backing down from the over all fight but he develops a flight instinct and does run away when things get too bad in that moment. (basically 'lose the battle when the war' mindset is something he develops over the years aka flight)

Tails meanwhile is the complete opposite. Tails grew up on his own only learning how to run away and hide from those who wanted to hurt him. Then he met Sonic.

Sonic not only helped protect Tails and had his back, but Tails grew up watching Sonic only have a fight instict. And little kids love to imitate anyone older than them and we've seen Tails do this before.

So Tails is just pure fight instict as he gets older, which has Sonic having some regrets™ on how he raised Tails.

Essentially what I'm saying with this whole post is as they get older Sonic is the one that has to hold back Tails from fights.

like I actually do think canon did one thing right: having Danny and Ellie's relationship be functionally "uuuuuuhhhh????? okay you can do your thing and. I will do mine. waaaaaay over there. see'ya cuz!" and then they both awkwardly dip out FAST

not because they don't have affection for each other! because they do! but one of them is a 14 year old kid, neck deep in hiding everything about himself from everyone except all of 3 people (also kids), who was just unwillingly cloned by his creep arch enemy-- and the other is a (???) 12 year old (??ig??) who may have only been around for a few months at best but is still functionally a 12 year old, FIERCELY independent, and just recently tried to murder the person she was cloned from-- then betrayed her dad-- then abruptly had nothing to her name, which also isn't even really hers--

I think they want to be friends-- family, even! but I also think they have ALOT of complicated Feelings about it. none of which touches on a "father-daughter dynamic"

Consider: Boba presses a blaster to the back of Ponds' neck. Boba flicks a switch. Boba pulls the trigger.

Consider: Boba dumps Ponds' limp body into the airlock. When he hits the eject button, the transmitter on the back of Ponds' armor blinks a steady green.

Consider: Ponds is the youngest batchmate of Bly, of Cody, of Wolffe. Ponds is the youngest batchmate of Fox.

Does anyone else have this fear that the police ask for your name and you wait a hot minute to give them your name because you have to make a conscious decision to dead name yourself because that’s what on all your id’s and they get suspicious and arrest you for faking your identity and you have to explain to them your not faking your identity your just trans and getting a legal name change is a pain the the ass and costs a lot of money

i genuinely think my bad memory is impacting my relationships. the thing is its always been bad but recently ive noticed its gotten way worse to the point where im missing big chunks of time even if it happened five minutes ago its actually scary ngl. its also impacting my ability to judge time which is not good. i have been late to a lot of things this past week
