"You can't bring your girlfriend into the bathroom, man."

"Excuse me?"

Just this is enough to put Steve into attack mode. He can feel Eddie's hand tighten around his in warning.

"Yeah, we have a no-bathroom-fucking policy after the last incident." The guy that stopped them has the decency to at least look bashful, rubbing his cheek awkwardly. Steve can almost sympathize, if stopping horny couples is a task he's supposed to do on the daily.

Almost.

"I'm sure me and my boyfriend can find a better place to fuck," he says dryly.

The guy's eyes widen, then flicker to the side, where Eddie is hovering awkwardly.

"Shit, dude, I'm so sorry—"

"So do you stop only hetero couples?" Steve interrupts him with a quirk of an eyebrow, bitch mode in full swing. "Or did your management just forget queer people exist?"

He opens his mouth, but closes it, rendered speechless.

"Or are they actually heterophobic and want only gay sex to happen in their bathrooms?" Steve cocks his head to the side.

"I don't—"

"So can me and my boyfriend go pee or...? We'll hold our hands while doing so," he raises their joined palms. "But nothing more, I promise."

"Just go," the man says tiredly, his expression pained.

"Thanks," Steve nods to him. "And consider simple no-fucking signs."

Finally free from the bar worker, Eddie pulls Steve towards the bathroom. Once inside and away from the loud music, he falls against the door with a sigh.

"Sorry," he says, hands hiding his face.

"What for?" Steve asks, latching the door closed.

"I don't know," Eddie groans in frustration. "For not cutting my hair, maybe? Maybe then I'd look like a man," he scoffs.

"Do I have to list off all the guys with long hair again?"

"I'm good, thanks."

"Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Slash..." he starts listing on his fingers anyway.

"Steve."

Steve drops his hand.

"Listen, if that guy assumes every person with long hair is a girl, then clearly he's not listening to enough metal."

Eddie lets out an involuntary snort, and Steve grins at the sound.

"And should we believe what an uncultured philistine without taste has to say?"

"No," Eddie admits with a fond roll of his eyes.

"Good," Steve smiles and leans down to kiss him. "Because I love your hair."

"I love it too," Eddie groans, his frustration still not gone. "I just wish it didn't make me feel this way."

"I know, Eds. But it's okay to feel like this, it's normal that it hurts," Steve reminds him, wrapping him in a hug. "You're a man to those who matter, who know what good music is."

Eddie's laughs gets muffled against his shoulder.

"That's true."

"And you're not going to change things you like about yourself because of a stranger's opinion."

"Hell no."

They stay quiet, just enjoying the warmth and comfort of their embrace, until Eddie speaks up again.

"Thank you."

"I'm just reminding you your own words."

"Still."

"Well, in that case, you're welcome, baby."

"Okay, but now I really have to pee."

They disentangle themselves to reach the urinals, but not before Steve lands another peck on his lips.

Eddie always takes longer in the bathroom, considering the time it takes him to disentangle and adjust his packer, but once he's free, he sees movement in his periphery. Steve is holding out his hand.

With a laugh, he grabs it, so they can pee hand in hand.

Once at they are at the sinks, they meet each other's eyes in the mirror.

"I kind of wanna fuck in the bathroom now," Steve admits.

Eddie makes a face and looks pointedly around. It's not the worst bathroom he's been in, but it's still a bar bathroom.

"You're not fucking me here," he says decisively. Steve hums.

"No, but you could fuck me."

Now that's a thought. One Eddie didn't plan in advance.

"Sorry, left my dick at home."

"Babe, you can make me come on just your fingers," Steve reminds him, leaning sideways against the sink to properly look at him.

Eddie pulls a strand of hair over his mouth at the reminder.

"Well..."

"Or we can always make a show and pretend just for kicks." His boyfriend suggests with a mischievous smile.

That, makes Eddie's eyes sparkle.

"We absolutely can," he quickly agrees.

Steve throws himself at the door with a rough slam, and moans in his best impression of a cheesy porn star.

"Fuck, I love you so much," Eddie attacks his mouth with no less enthusiasm. He starts moving his hips against his leg and groan to the rhythm, Steve rattling the door and whimpering along. "I can still fuck you after, right?"

Steve moans again, now more genuinely from the mere thought.

"You'd try not to."

I have so many, but tbh my favorite headcanons have to do with her having PTSD - so i can't promise this will be a fun post

PTSD

Hates being alone at any given moment and had to ask Donald if she could room with him in the houseboat for a few months

Genuinely cannot look at her reflection and will be needing exposure therapy

Does not like the feeling of movement underwater because it reminds her of the moon's gravity

Terrified that she'll never be fully capable of being a mom because of the 10 years she missed

Cringes at any moon or space themed items now - sometimes triggers her on a bad day or if she looks at them for too long

Her hair being too long is a trigger for her, so she always keeps it shoulder length or above

She ALWAYS feels cold even if her body temperature is normal and sometimes it drives her crazy

Lots of nightmares about what-ifs - what if it was my kids instead of me, what if it was my brother instead of me, what if i didnt have oxychew, what if i never met the Moonlanders, etc etc etc

The taste of black licorice will genuinely send her spiraling, and because it lingers - it wrecks her for days (she hates similar flavors such as rootbeer)

Finds a lot of joy in warm places so she now loves to be out in the sun

Had a period of time where she wasn't really talking with Penumbra because of the severity of her triggers/ptsd

Both finds peace in dead silence, but it also brings her back to the moon as well - she has a very complex relationship with isolation

Prefers silver over gold (even though she doesn't wear jewelry, she likes silver on others and silver on things such as zippers and buttons)

Spent quite a few years terrified of flying after the horror of her own trauma set in, but it threw her into a big depression since piloting is her passion

Hates taking care of her stump because she doesn't like taking her prosthetic leg off - she sees it as her own, so she hates taking it off even though she knows she needs to when sleeping or showering

She has a hard time looking at her stump and scars because on one hand; sick as hell battle wounds, but on the other; damn was that the worst time in my entire life

Depression and Anxiety

Even before crashlanding on the moon, she dealt with depression and social anxiety

She has a bit of a hard time keeping her room tidy and taking care of herself, but she's phenomenal at putting other people first

Feels as though she's not attractive enough

Wants to be a ray of sunshine in other peoples' lives

She's very scared that she won't be enough for people and therefore she must put 110% into everything she does for others

ADHD and Autism

Her sensory issues tend to directly conflict with her PTSD issues - like she hates silence because of the moon, but sometimes she gets overstimulated by noise and needs the silence or alone time

She does not sleep until her body physically passes out because the change in activity is hard for her to deal with

Goes insane if she feels understimulated because her brain begins to shut down and she dissociates

Many, many stims (sometimes doubles as grounding with PTSD): bouncing her leg, various hand motions, feeling the fabric of her clothes, physical affection with her loved ones, playing with the tightness of her prosthetic (loosening and then tightening it over and over), shaking her head to feel her hair around her shoulders (and solidifying that what she's feeling is earth gravity)

Really hard time understanding social cues that makes her come across as rather ditzy

Special interest in aircraft technology and was a top student at her flight school

Love/Hate relationship with reading because if she enjoys what she's reading she gets invested, but if she's understimulated, the words jumble together in her mind

Not good at math for a similar reason

Fish are a huge sensory nightmare for her; the scales, the smell, the taste, etc

Is generally pretty sensory-seeking, but has a few Hard Nos on textures (such as slimy scales)

Other:

I headcanon Della having compulsive sexual behavior disorder, and her libido especially spiked after being on the moon for 10 years, and it makes her feel really gross at times

Due to said hypersexuality, she gets intrusive thoughts that piss her off

Because of the moon not really having a clear indicator of night and day, Della lost her circadian rhythm and struggles with a Hell combination of non-24 and ADHD insomnia

The lack of general sleep makes it hard for her to lose weight and so she's insecure about that

Physical Disabilities:

Because she was on the moon for so long, the zero gravity and lack of proper breathable oxygen took a huge toll on her, physically

She developed really bad asthma and will likely be recovering from it for the rest of her life

Her lungs can only intake so much oxygen at a time, so she also struggles with shortness of breath

Upon returning to earth, her body was really broken down from the cold atmosphere - causing her to not be able to regulate her body temperature properly

Her bones were weakened upon arrival, so she has to spend years recovering physically from it

Her stump is irritated a lot because she doesn't like taking care of it properly

She owns crutches for when she needs to take breaks from her prosthetic just because of the discomfort when wearing it

She is not afraid to hit Donald with a crutch BTW

So now, that I have time, I'm actually gonna sit and watch the trailers properly. Let's go.

Dare You to Death - The plot is appealing to me, the cast is interesting. I was never a JD fan so if I decide to watch it will be for all the ensemble and the actual plot.

Head 2 Head - My babies! Forced cohabitation my beloved. I'm gonna pretend I didn't see the vision thingy cause other than that this just seems like a cute bl, and I'm here for that.

Burnout Syndrome - OffGun in a love triangle? Gun being fought over by two men just has god intended? I am so seated for this!

Whale Store xoxo - MilkLove is back and I wanna like this one. It seems cute, and drama light. I'll probably be tuning in.

Only Friends - Dream On - The chill that came down my spine when the song started playing. I left my body. With that said, and like I said before, EarthMix is here, so who am I kidding? I will watch. Kinda surprised to see JossFluke already paired in another bl, before the first one has even started airing. OhmLeng was predictable as a recurring pair and I'm always here for Ohm. Leng has a lot to prove being surrounded by all these names.

That Summer - MOND! Mond kissing boys! That's it.

My Romance Scammer - Not in a million years did I think we would get this OhmFluke combo. Dimples is back kissing boys and Ohm is just back. And MarkJunior seem to be here to stay. Also, I love that since we got gay marriage we should immediately tackle gay divorce. Sounds good.

Melody of Secrets - I'm glad they're back playing adults although the dynamic seems to be the same. I wish they changed it up and let Book be the pursuer. I like the horror elements and we don't get enough of those but I don't know about this one.

Love You Teacher - The first half of this trailer had me. I love Perth and he's playing a grown up so I was sold. And then it happened. And I don't know how I feel about any of it.

MU-TE-LUV - I guess we're getting this and not OurSkyy3. Will watch the queers and the rest we'll see.

Cat for Cash - This is just rude. Do they know that cats are my ultimate weakness? I can't watch all these shows, but a show with talking cats? multiple of them?? C'mon. I'm not even gonna pretend to be torn about this one. I will be watching.

Girl Rules - So, Only Friends but make it sapphic. I'm sad to say, I'll probably pass on this one.

Boys In Love - PAPANG!!! The rumours were true and he's paired with Pod in this. All I saw in this trailer was that and the dimples. Who is that kid? Cause he's adorable. This is the obligatory high-school bl, it looks soft and fluffy. Might check it out.

My Magic Prophecy - I will be skipping this one.

A Dog and a Plane - What a mess of a trailer. But do I care? Not even a little. It's TayNew so I'll be watching with bells on.

Me and Thee - This show will be the true test of how shallow I can get. Will I start a show because Est was wearing glasses in the trailer? Only future me will know. Look, PondPhuwin can play, we know this, but I don't know if I want another show with them so soon. At least they're playing different roles, so there's that.

Wu - Who was saying this wasn't bl? Did you not see the golden thread? And the fate talk? And the looks? And well, everything? It's a bl. I don't know about this one mostly because I don't know the actors. Although tumblr is doing its job well and I'm this close to binging the frenemies show so maybe I'll reevaluate.

Memoir of Rati - I am so easy, it's embarrassing honestly. They so pretty, the scenery is so pretty, historical bl. Sold!

Ticket To Heaven - So many flashbacks to catholic school. It looks good, which doesn't surprise considering it's Aof. I'm glad GeminiFourth are back playing more serious roles. I am really intrigued by this one but also don't trust it completely for some reason. I don't know yet.

Yeah, I'm a sucker. I will be watching most of the first episodes of this line up in like a year when they actually get made. Probably not gonna stick with a lot of them but we'll see. As it's becoming obvious, I'm easy.

Also just a fun fact I guess, and as @lurkingshan as said here, with these shows, 4 couples will hit 5 series as a pair. OffGun, FirstKhao, ForceBook and EarthMix, even though that last one I'm counting Ossan's Love which is also not released yet.

And another thing, of the Gmmtv 2024 QL shows, 7 have yet to premiere. Thame Po, will premiere December 13 but the other six don't have dates yet. They are : My Golden Blood, Ossan's Love, The Ex-Morning, Us, Sweet Tooth Good Dentist and Revamp. So yeah, we're not gonna see any of these new shows anytime soon. Although I'm putting my money on the OffGun series being one of the first to premiere in this line up.

A concise (and biased) summary of GMMTV 2025 Pt.1 shows (2/2)

In no particular order:

11. Cat For Cash (Firstkhao, Cat Cafe AU (?), Magical Realism AU. This is the fluffy romcom that firstkhao and all the Soms have been praying for. Enough angst and crying, let them be cute and fall in love!! Also Khao cat confirmed!! I don't make the rules. Silly but cute) 6/10

12. Girls Rules (NamtanFilm, MilkLove, ViewMim. Jojo said he supports women's rights, and women's wrongs, and he's so valid for that. Love seeing women in a male dominated field. Female Only Friends, dare I say?) 6/10

13. Boys In Love (High school AU. Debuting Mick Metas, aka baby Win Metawin, and we all cheered! also featuring a lot of babies, presumably the newest crop of gmmtv recruits, and so far i'm not mad about it. I'll have to wait and see how they actually do. Classic 3 high school couple stories, general sweetness all around) 8/10

14. My Magic Prophecy (JimmySea, Doctor AU, Urban Fantasy AU. I'm personally not the biggest JimmySea girlie so this doesn't do anything for me, but I know there's people out there who are loving this, and i'm so happy for them. Jimmy is a doctor (what a concept) and Sea can see the future sort of? So what happens when Sea tries to change the future for someone he is close to?) 4/10

15. A Dog and A Place (Taynew, side MarcPoon. New is a flight attendant, and Tay is just some random clown, and since Tay owes a debt to New, he agrees to stalk New's bf and find out if he's cheating on New or not. Silly ahhh goofy ahh show, for anyone looking for a light watch and a laugh) 4/10

16. Memoir of Rati (GreatInn, side AouBoom. Historical AU, absolutely serving I Feel You Linger In The Air minus the time travel. I'm sorry to say but this is the genre of show that Earthmix deserved, we need them in a period piece STAT. That being said, it does look beautiful, it looks worth watching for the aesthetics itself) 5/10

17. Me and Thee (PondPhuwin, side PerthSanta. Photography AU, Mafia AU, except it's on crack??? looks so funny and they both do comedy so well with each other honestly i'm just having such a giggle. Can't wait for this one. Big mafia bossman Pond needs help of 'ordinary guy' Phuwin to learn how to seduce. Shenanigans ensue) 8/10

18. Ticket To Heaven (FourthGemini, Historical AU (sort of), Church AU. P'AOF COME FUCKING THRU I SAY. This is what i've been waiting for. Repressed seminary boy meets rebellious new kid, and struggles to come to terms with his sexuality while being in the church and close to God. As much as I would love for FourthGem to exercise their skills with new directors, i'm so happy to see them working with Aof again bc I just know he knows how to bring out the best in them. Fourth is absolutely going to kill this role, he's in his actor bag and i'm so proud of him. I can't wait to see how he pulls this off) 11/10

19. I Love 'A Lot Of' You (NanonMind. Mind has DID with 5 distinct personalities, and Nanon is hired by her father to make all versions of her fall in love with him. Not sure why, but an interesting premise to use for a show, that's for sure) 3/10

20. WU (SkyNanin bromance, Boxer AU, Magical Realism AU. Sky is some kind of psychic/fortune teller, and he enlists down and out boxer Nani to protect him. I never watched Frenemy myself but I've heard nothing but amazing things about both of their acting, esp Sky. So if you need a reason to try this show out, it's Sky's phenomenal acting chops) 9/10

The unexpectedly tender and intimate romance between Severus and Petunia - post the events of First War- tops this list. Maria has a way of writing care, intimacy with such loving attention to detail, it blows me away in all of her work. This also has a sequel!

Summary:

1981 was not Petunia's year. The day before New Year's Eve, determined to make a fresh start of it, she straps Harry and Dudley into the car and flees north--only to hit into the biggest snowstorm she's ever seen in her life. Grief-stricken and dazed by his pivot from Death Eater to teacher, Severus Snape spends his holiday far from everyone, wandering aimlessly through the snow. The last thing either of them wanted was their paths to collide, but when Petunia gets stuck in the snow, they'll get stuck with each other.

2. Not bright or noble, but almost sublime by @yletylyf

Severus/Sirius raising Harry. Explicit.

I remember talking to Lety when we connected in Snirius fandom: "Where are the fluffy fics? Where are the raising Harry fics?" Of course, Snirius fandom as a whole is interested in the tension and delicious angst of Sirius and Severus together, often veering to darker territories - so it was a relief when Lety started writing this! A very fun Snirius raising Harry story.

Summary:

so i got super inspired by the tv series betty (the skate kitchen spin-off). the idea of finding love, friendship, and acceptance in a small skateboarding community. and lazy skate co was born. my baby 😌

The Sculptor (WangXian, 27.6k)

This fic was inspired by a fabulous piece of fanart by @ceru-draws and I wrote it in a 3-day sprint/fugue state. I'm still really proud of it mostly because I think it's the tightest narrative I've managed to write yet so far, and I really enjoyed creating a modern AU but set in the American 1970's, with some of the little undercurrents of queer/counter culture that that entails. It was really fun to write, the art it's based on is beautiful, and I think it's a nice little read. (It's also part of a series, so if you like it there's more to the universe!)

2. Outta Time (3zun, 4.7k)

Okay so this one is relatively short, less than 5k words, but it's about the ✨vibes✨, alright, and they're immaculate if I do say so myself. @little-smartass and I realized last summer right about this time that we both love Orville Peck and I said I'd always pictured 3zun so vividly for the line in Outta Time that goes "Drag me to the party guess I got nowhere to go / Got a man to my left and one on my right and they're tellin' me 'bout what they know". And aren't I just a lucky duck - she had great ideas for writing a whole fic AND she drew that scene that sparked it all 😭 This fic is also the start of the Orville Peck Cinematic Universe, which is currently only 2 published fics but there are many more in the works! This is the fic for you if you like soft gay cowboys.

3. Tales From Jianghu Shopping Center (Wangxian, NieLan (implied), SangCheng (unestablished), 6.6k)

This is another one that's all about The Vibes, this time inspired by a post by @lansplaining reimagining all of the Great Sects as businesses in a seedy strip mall. It's the 90's, it's summer, it's fluffy fun and low-stakes drama for everyone! I wrote this one partially out of homesickness when I was missing the boiling hot Southeast American summers I'm used to, but also I just really have a deep love for shitty little strip malls and the weird shit you find in them so this was bound to happen either way once I saw that absolutely INSPIRED post. This is also another one that's part of a larger universe (are you sensing a theme?) and they're all slice-of-life fluffy little summer things focusing on various ships within the community. And I have more in the works!

4. After Each Midnight Begins A New Day (3zun, Wangxian (background), 54.4k)

The one that started it all! This is not only my first chaptered fic for The Untamed, it's the first chaptered fic I've ever finished in my life, and I'd been writing fic for a decade by then. I feel like I can't really rec things I've written without including this one, which was a turning point for me in the fandom both in terms of starting to really actively participate by sharing stuff I'd written (outside of tags and short one-shots) and in really letting 3zun take over my brain for what would be the next three-ish years and counting. I still go back and reread this fic every now and again and of course there are things I would change now with so much practice under my belt since I wrote it, but I do still love it as it is. (This one is also part of a larger universe with plenty of extra scenes, some of which are chaptered fics themselves....shocking, I know.)

5: You Need Tending (12k) and You Are Of Their Ilk (44k+/WIP) (Baby Wangxian)

I'm putting these two fics together for number 5 because this is my post and I make the rules now lol. I wrote the first fic and then decided that I wanted to explore the sort of ripple effects of what happens after the Lan save WWX from the streets, and then it really got away from me, so the sequel is much bigger and more emotionally fraught than the first (at least in my opinion). It just feels weird to recommend either of them without the other when they're so closely linked! It's been ages, I know, since I last updated You Are Of Their Ilk but I'm still claiming that it's a WIP - I will finish it one day, I just don't know exactly when. So if you love it and want to see it finished, don't give up hope!

So there we go! I know this is more than 5 (a LOT more than five if you include the extras and stuff for all the fics lol) but oh well. 5. Do you respond to comments? Definitely!! Comments are such a serotonin boost and I love responding to people and thanking them for commenting because it genuinely means the world to me.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? A Ghost We Both Know has a very angsty ending. I’ve had a few people even ask for a second chapter but I fear the angst is the end of it.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I’d say Just A Tug has a very fluffy ending.

8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes. I’m very new to it and quite frankly I have no idea what I’m doing and it sometimes feel like torture but I can’t stop writing it LOL. I’m learning as I go on so every time I write something I’m basically experimenting but I do feel most comfortable writing queer smut.

9. Do you write crossovers? No. Not something I read or write.

14. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue!! Most of my fics stem from random dialogue scenes I’ve made up in my head and I think I do a good job writing realistic fun dialogue. I think I’m fairly good at writing the overall scenes too—speech tags and tones,character expressions,introspection between all that. I like my dialogue scenes to be very detailed.

15. What are your writing weaknesses?  Still very new to writing so to me everything 😅? But mainly descriptions of sceneries and surroundings. It’s such a specific skill to be able to capture surroundings into words and articulate it well and make it sound beautiful and I’m just not there yet.

16. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? The idea of using google translate and someone noticing its all so off is just a big no to me. I do however speak arabic so 👀👀

18. Favorite fic you’ve written? Surprisingly my most recent luzriel fic. I really struggled with writing it bc I was going through probably the most stressful weeks of my life but I somehow finished it and it was exactly what I imagined?? I had such a vivid image of what it looked like and I feel like I conveyed that really well. 

It’s also such a rarepair and there’s no scenes of them even remotely interacting so I had to build their dynamic from the ground up. It was a challenge to write a character like Azriel who I don’t really read too many fics about and is also so enigmatic in the books. I had to do so much research on that man like I was out here searching what he smells like. I know him too well now.

Chapter 1

(Mike P.O.V)

I groan as my alarm clock rings. I rolled out of bed and into the bathroom. I stare at myself 

“fuck I need a haircut” I mutters. My hair is dark brown like my shitty ass dad’s. But fluffy and curly like my mom. A pang of sadness washed over me. Damn I missed her so much she was the only person I could talk to but after she killed herself I was left alone. I walk out into the kitchen where I spot my younger brother, Chris already up. Chris always looked like he never slept even though he took medicine to help with his sleeping problems. 

“Hey cry baby” I said as I flicked the back of Chris’s head.

“Mike stoppp” Chris whined as tears started to form in his eyes. I rolled my eyes. My brother was always about to cry. It was annoying.

“Hey hey no crying I’m sorry” I said patting Chris’s head “Where's Lizzy?” 

Chris sniffed “She’s sleeping still”

“Can you go get her then? If you do, I'll make breakfast” I said, opening the fridge up.

“Really!?” Chris said looking up.

“Yeah we have eggs, cereal, or toast with butter,”  I say. 

“OK!” Chris said running off.

{a couple minutes later}

“Morning Mikey” Liz says as she hugs me.

“Morning” I say as I lift Liz. And settle her on my hip.

“Where's daddy?” Liz asks, staring up at me. I try not to roll my eyes. My father could care less about us but Liz is still convinced he’s the best parent anyone could ask for. Bull shit.

“Work” I answer “What do you want for breakfast?”

“A bagel!” Liz says

“We don’t have bagels” I say.

“But I want one!” Liz says. I’m tempted to throw her but I remember what my mom said ‘Mikey darling you just need to control your temper. How about this? If you promise to apologize to the boy I won’t tell your father you got into another fight, how about that darling’ she would say in perfect British accent. I would nod and smile. ‘Good. Now go fix yourself up, we’re having pasta’

“Liz.” I say evenly “You can have some toast, cereal, eggs, or starve.” 

She glared up at me but I guess she wasn’t in an arguing mood so she sighed then mumbled “Toast is fine…”

“Good” I say as I put her down. “Go get ready you can eat on the bus”

{At school}

I walk by all the students. Before spotting my friends.

(Jeremy P.O.V)

As Mike walks up my heart skips a beat. Damn why am I like this. Felix immediately jumps down from his ledge he was sitting on. And wraps his arms around Mike's waist, I envied Felix how easily he can touch Michael without getting flustered. 

“Ok queer boy” Mark says as he blows out some smoke from his cigarette.

“Oh shut your Mexican ass up lest I can hold a relationship,” Felix shots back.

“This isn’t a relationship. It’s more your gay as fuck and Mike puts up with your bullshit,” Mark says, blowing more smoke out.

“I aint gay. But this is a longer relationship than you have ever had,” Felix says, narrowing his eyes.

“OK virgin,” Mark says, which starts a whole lot more bickering from them. I listen for a little bit then tone out and end up staring at Michael. I have been in love with Mike since freshman year. When I was getting bullied and Mike told them to go fuck themselves. It was my first year in this town and Mike should have cared less about me but he still stood up to them. Unfortunately I can’t be…. you know… queer? It was the 1980s being queer was gross. Queer people were being thrown in jail for nothing. Queer bars were being burned to the ground. It doesn’t help that this town is super small and homophobic. But my mother is too. Like every time she has any free she just talks about how awful queer people are. 

“Jer?” Mike says, waving in my face

“Huh?” I say, being aware all them are watching me.

“You were scaring us dude,” Felix says. “You completely zoned out,”

“Really hadn’t noticed” I say sarcastically. 

“Ass” Felix says. And Mark lets out a laugh which results in a punch from Felix. 

“Ladies can we get through fucking school before we start fighting” Michael says rolling his eyes. And we all start walking to our first class. As we walk people call out to Mike. He gives them a nod. Mike was the scariest kid at our school. If you messed with anyone under his protection, you were in for a treat. But really he was the nicest guy ever. God damn it stop being g….queer Jeremy! 

{Felix P.O.V lunch}

Me and Jeremy walk out onto the field where Mike and Mark are already sitting eating lunch. I watch as Jeremy’s face turns red when Mike smiles at us. I run over and settle myself on Mike's lap. He lays back on the grass. Mark starts to tease us. But is quickly shut up by Mike's middle finger.

“Not. A. Word.” Mike warns. 

“You're not scary Mike,” I say, taking a bite of the awful cafeteria food.

“Most of the school would disagree” Jeremy says.

“Yet the scariest boy in school can’t stand up to a 5’3 gay fucker” Mark says as he throws a piece of food at me. I flip him off. But I do wonder how Mike puts up with me. The late calls because I’m too drunk or high to think straight. The crying in empty classrooms. All the times I reach for his hand. Why? My thoughts are interpreted by the bell.

“Ugh yep I’m definitely skipping I have Mr. Coles next and I didn't do my homework, my ass is gone,” Mark says standing up. “I’m going to the roof to smoke, does anyone care to join me?”

“Sure” I say, brushing myself off.

“Eh why not” Mike says sitting up.

“Uh I guess I can come too?” Jeremy says, he’s the only one who doesn’t smoke but we have corrupted him enough that he drinks. Not that we were trying to force him, it just happened that he started drinking. But I’m all for him staying away from that stuff. He has the highest chance out of all of us to do something great. 

{Mark P.O.V rooftop}

We all smoke in silence before Mike says:

“I’m going to runaway” 

I almost choke on my smoke “Well not now but after highschool I’m going pay for a train ticket and get away from this fucking shitty ass town. And you're all coming with me.” Mike continues. “Were all going live our fucking lives not survive but actually live our lives. We can do what we want to do. And when I can I’ll fight for my siblings and bring out every shitty thing he has ever done. Maybe, I can become their legal guardian

“Keep dreaming but that's not happening, we're going die here,” Jermey says.

“And here's pessimist Jeremy to save the day,” Felix says sarcastically.

“I’m not pessimistic! It’s the truth,” Jeremy shots back.

“You could at least tell him lightly,” Felix says.

“Right… crap sorry Mike that was mean,” Jeremy says quietly, as his face turns red.

“Damn even you Felix way to crush a man's dreams,” Mike says, holding his heart.

Felix touches Michaels forearm lightly in comfort. “I believe in you really Mike but we’re the unluckiest teenage boys in all of Utah. Hate to say it but we are never leaving”

“I think you can do it,” I say, they all turn to stare at me. “What? Mike has the best grades and a real chance of getting out of here. Plus he said he was bringing us with. And I don’t know about you but I’m all for getting as far as fucking possible from my parents,”

“Thank you Mark,” Mike says smiling “Not everyone has given up on me,”

“If Mark believes in you then you can definitely do it,” Jeremy says, giving a small smile.

“You fuckers aren’t leaving right? When Mike leaves I better have a ticket cause this ass is getting so far away from my mother you won't even be able to see it, which is crazy seeing how big my ass is,”

“So now you believe in me,” Mike says, side-eyeing him.

 “I always believed in you Mikey,” Felix says, with innocent eyes. “I just didn’t want to leave Jeremy alone in his puddle of sorrow,”

“Thanks for throwing me under the bus,” Jeremy mumbles.

“First of all don't call me Mikey it's weird only my sister calls me that and she’s 8,” Mike says “And second of all I don’t believe you believed in me. How does that feel,”

“Aw but Mikey’s cute,” Felix answered, taking a step forward towards Mike.

“I hate you,” Mike says, even though the corners of his mouth were suppressing a smile, Mike pushes Felix lightly away. 

“You know you love me,” Felix laughs.

“Damn Mike’s all done with your gay shit,” I laugh. Then we all start laughing as the bell rings twice telling us it was the end of the day.

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all having an amazing day/night. My name is Venus, I’m a queer, POC writer! Today, I have a specific idea in mind!

To start off, I LOVE anything and everything romance. Especially when the characters are mutually obsessed with each other? Ugh, so good. I will admit, I do like a lot of smut too. Don’t get me wrong, I like to focus on the story as well, buuut I find the smut aspect oddly fun too, so be mindful of that. Be warned, I’m specifically looking for a MxM/MxTransM plot, so depending on what route we take, there could be themes of pregnancy and babies but obviously it isn’t mandatory and something to be discussed.

Lately I’ve been craving a prince x monster/nonhuman or really just a human x nonhuman (with me as the nonhuman) medieval romance plot. I have a specific character in mind to use, I’ll describe him down below!

Ellis is..well, there’s no real name for his species, not that he knows of anyways. A large, chubby creature covered in fluffy white fur, a long tail, and two rabbit like ears. Wide black eyes and dirty blonde hair adds to his oddly adorable charm, accompanied with his curiosity for humans.

I want this to be more of a romance and smut focus plot, sort of focusing on the domestic life between our characters. Whether we have them in an established relationship or have them come together can be discussed, I’m just dying for a sweet and fluffy (and smutty) romance plot at the moment.

The gender of my partners isn’t a concern at all! As long as you’re friendly, can match my energy (and my freak), are over 18, and play as a male character, we’re all good!

Ask game! 🥑What are you currently working on?

Hi!

I have a bunch of WIPs at the moment because I don’t know how to limit myself to one anymore -because my projects are not as massive as they were in the past in terms of expected length- but there are two specific fics I’m working on more than one the others;

The first one is me imagining moments in Natasha and Malcolm’s relationship because I’m so obsessed with the idea of it, the books make it sound like they were SO in love,,,

For now I’m writing the early stages of their relationship, meeting, getting to know each other, that kind of stages, but I have a lot more ideas for later moments (because there’s something in canon that has always intrigued me that I want to explore).

The second one is set in the summer before Carry On. Simon didn’t go back to care (because it makes no sense that he went in canon, he turned 18 before the summer holidays, how could he go back to care?) and to have a link with the World of Mages still, something he didn’t have the previous summers, he texts a number he had written down on one of his notebooks. Turns out it’s Baz.

I’ve really missed writing texting fics… I love texting fics… They’re so much fun… And I love the idea of Baz and Simon getting to know each other in a context that allows them to step out of their “Chosen One” and “Pitch heir” roles. They’re not at school, and no one is watching their text messages. They’re freer to communicate

It’s mostly just fluffy scenes of them getting to know each other (for now,,,) but then, because I can’t help myself,,,,,,,,,, “It wouldn’t have taken six weeks with me helping” is all I’m going to say ;)

Honourable mention to my little baby, that I’m not writing at the moment because it’s Intimidating (it’s one of those massive projects I mentioned earlier) but that I love love love; one of my WIPs is a Normal AU, fem!Snowbaz AU set in the 80s/90s in which they’re childhood friends. David raises Simon, and Natasha is alive for a bit longer than in canon. I write them growing up together, growing apart too, and what I’m especially excited about writing is queer characters in that context of the 80s/90s because (this is getting unnecessarily personal) I’m writing my master’s dissertation on AIDS in gay art and literature, and I’ve been fascinated by the AIDS crisis and the way queer people suffered from it for years, so I’ve been wanting to find a way to write about that.

A humble request to jegulus writers:-

#1 Most time jegulus fic is accompained by secondary pairings. My question is why make every couple homosexual. I mean I am all for promoting queers and trans. But out of all the 10-12 people you are showing, not even 2-3 couple are of opposite sex. Why??? Why always the same couple in all the fic. It has become too much predictable and boring.

#2 I will begin this by saying that Sirius is no way wrong for running away. But if you show that reg was really that much affected by it so how could you make it like they are friends once again. Traumas like this take real time. Sometime years. And that is not for the sake of not trying or lack of understanding. Just because reg accepts that sirius had to leave does not mean his feelings are wrong of resentment towards his brother. But every writer make that pain erase with just one hug or within the span of a couple of weeks.

I humbly request all the talented writers out there to depict variety. For example that despite being understanding and forgiving they are not super close. They cannot bridge that gap despite being in terms with the other persons reasons. That things are always awkward and a little uncomfortable.

#3 Also the whole wizard war theme is based on prejudice. If say someone says a slur to muggleborn then they are hated by this do gooder group. But then what happens with just saying people like regulus, who are shown to be deep down closeted muggle lovers, are bullied for reason not so big but for their sorting. If being prejudiced is so wrong then make them grovel this time.

#4 Also why always pair with wolfstar. Variations are always welcomed. Sometime make Sirius as aroace. Othertime make him stright. Also he could be queer and also not have feelings for his best friend. That is also okay and not too much big of earth shattering news.

#5 Sometime we are shown that James was secretly dating regulus then R got into death eating business then J jumped ship and got together with lily, had a baby, then R miraculously saves the day by either ending the war or bringing them the key info to end it. Then we are asked to believe the these two people who have the audacity to have a kid in the middle of a war in which they are active soldiers are not even that much into each other. They are just co parent. Seems illogical. This is all to bring Harry into picture. And then Regulus with absolutely no self respect decides to again be in relationship with this guy who within the span of a year of their break up had knocked up the girl he used had crush on.

Poor reg only has James Potter to fall on. And make his life good. 🥲

#6 All friends of James end up being super cosy and loving with all friends of regulus. Cheesy much. And I am not even talking about fluffy fics. No angsty fics too have everyone becoming a big happy family in the end.

#7 Making walburga and orion use crucio and imperio. Like why do you need to go into deep end of abuse. Just simple hex is also abuse. And wrong.

It is really funny that reg and sirius did not end up becoming like Alice and frank from canon with the amount of liberty you writers take on using the crucio.

#8 Making Remus and Lily as the shiny example of all good people in the world. It gest boring pretty fast. Let them be vilian sometimes.

No but They are the smartest, they are the most emotionally intelligent, they are the most understanding, they are the one who do not make mistake, if they do mistake it is forgiven quite quickly as compared to the mistakes of reg, sirius and James.

#9 Lily is declining James because she is lesbian or is bisexual but has hots for another 'girl'. Again repetitive much. Can't she be straight and still rejecting James. Can't she have feelings for a 'guy' and not into James. Can't she decide to not enter in a relationship without being aroace.

#10 In canon we see that at the end marauders were a pretty shakable group with betrayal, guilt, trust issues, or simply loosing touch with each other. But all fics with this pairing paint them as super close except for Peter sometimes. I mean it would be good to show them drifting apart and that angst of knowing that they will never be the same. That the good old school days are over and they are not as unbeatable as they assumed. Let them sometimes drift apart forever.

Why is there need for showing physical abuse and sexual assault and horcrux drama for angst? When you can have them normal people with normal suffering. Why make it all picture perfect in the end???.

#11 Sometime you can use pandora or dorcas or marlene or Mary to be surrogate and regulus being the biological father. Why does it always have to be James and Lily birthing harry. Again done too many times.

And James watching regulus getting into relationship with some other guy and wishing that he had seen past the tattoo on his arm and not rushed into marrying Lily and having a kid because now they are fighting all the time but still remain married for the sake of their kid but has to see regulus in newspaper finally getting settled with someone who will choose him first and foremost and whose love is not so pitiful as to jump into someone else's arm so quickly and not even mourning their relationship as if he was nothing.

hello again :3 welcome to the world from 2024!! im doing backlogs of media reviews lol. well i was really busy. and then i was super busy playing umineko!! looking back at this month, it seems like i didnt read a whole lot this month, but then i forgot that ruzhui is literally 300 chapters long. so.. a couple of these i read uh quite a few months ago by now so the review might be a bit stale. however i had like 80% of this written for several weeks so theres only a couple! this will be posted on my neocities at some point

ruzhui by please dont laugh: f/f. after a terrible breakup, college yun an is happy to leave her life behind for some TIME TRAVEL! but while disguising herself as a man to avoid discrimination, she gets looped into a matrilocal marriage with businesswoman lin buxian?! intended as a fluffy palate cleanser after pdl's previous work a clear and muddy loss of love, i think it still kinda ended up getting mired in politics two thirds of the way in, when a lot of us were here for the moments with miss malewife yun an and her powerhouse wife? on the other hand, its hard to stretch out fluff for an entire 300 chapters without contriviances. i also really enjoyed how it managed to balance like. idk. 'returning to the simple emotions of the past' with 'holy shit guys the past actually sucked ass lmfao'. its a pretty relaxing read, so id recommend checking it out if youre into f/f!

the devil comes courting by courtney milan: f/m romance. can romance bloom while trying to create the first telegraphic encoding for chinese...? sooo cute im a huge fan of courtney milan as always. surprisingly goes into some pretty heavy topics including like. forced assimilation via child stealing?????? i thought it was well handled though the ldr stuff and the way amelia grows as a person was soo nice

the marquis who mustnt by courtney milan: f/m romance. the son of a conman returns home for one final trick. meanwhile, naomi just wants to take her medic class. the two become engaged on false premises and of course, catch feelings. once again extremely cute im very charmed. also liked the pottery details :3 i think in every fake engagement the whole 'pretending to themselves they dont have feelings' is a little ridiculous so i liked that they just like. acknowledged it at the outset. i think its honestly more compelling to be like 'yes my feelings are sincere and true however X still outweighs '. loove a guy shackled by duty

wandering souls by cecile pin: follows anh and her two siblings, refugees of the vietnam war. ok honestly i dont remember a lot about this book :( sorry but i did like it! its a really fast read and made me really sad so id recommend. (DISCLAIMER: AMERICAN) i also feel like i dont read a lot of non-american diaspora books so thats pretty interesting as well. nice prose also :]

detransition baby by torrey peters: a trans woman who yearns for motherhood, her detransitioned ex-boyfriend, and his pregnant partner struggle to find a way to live--together, or apart? ok sorry this is another review written in january so its kinda weighted more negatively. i had a LOT of thoughts about this in november but i forgot most of them. this novel is a deep look into a very specific kind of queer subculture--a subculture which is both very white and very annoying. sorry. the characters feel like a vivid, true-to-life depiction of the poeple i try to avoid at my little liberal arts college. however, it ALSO feels like the kind of really good gossip that you love to hear secondhand. also, the author shoehorns in discussions of race in ways that are really jarring and also, kinda bad? i honestly really loved the inner voices of all the characters which is why it sucked when i got to suddenly read a copy-pasted twitter thread about intersectional oppression instead. (especially coming from the mouth of a cis wasian woman..?) it feels all the more tokenistic since we immediately go back to the inner struggles of ames and reese instead. ugh. however, it sparked some really interesting conversations with me and my friends. i also got to learn more about ah i guess transfem detransition? as opposed to transmasc detransition. they are very different! um but i guess id recommend?

comics/manga:

surviving romance: action/horror webtoon?? the woman living in the body of a romance novel character is determined to get her picture-perfect happy ever after-- at all costs. everything goes according to plan until the day zombies attack the school. chaerin is forced to bond with the faceless extras of her story, and find out what is rotting at the core of *love every day*. very solid writing!! i like how the author gradually introduces characters, and how the tension ratchets up as more people to care for becomes more people that can be lost. definitely goes into some orv-lite type themes, which i appreciated. i guess my only complaint is that despite the solid execution it didnt really ~wow~ me in any way... still worth checking out though :3

run away with me girl by battan: f/f romanceish? two high school lovers meet again after midori decided that their relationship was just a childish whim. but even though midori has decided shes straight (and is married with a kid on the way!), maki still has feelings for her. dude soooo cute the art style is not personally my thing but i felt like all of the characters were really grounded and the introspective parts were really interesting. some beautifully atmospheric parts! would recommend :3 witch hat atelier kitchen (reread) by shirahama kamome: a spinoff of witch hat atelier, where the two teachers qifrey and olrugio make food together after hours! gorgeous art as always, and some cute recipes too! i reread this since an official english translation came out lol. monotone blue: short furry m/m about apathetic, aloof cat hachi, who meets aoi--a shy transfer student who happens to be the only lizard in the whole school. pretty lighthearted for the most part, but also heavily implied a sexual assault scene?? or at least the vibes?? in a way that treated it far too lightly and left a bad taste in my mouth. possibly worth reading for the art, but idk :/ definitely falls into the romance trap of having a love interest go "ill save you from these bad guys!" for like a cheap plot device and then not really going into it

movies/tv:

parasite: class-focused comedic thriller? the kim family finds a way out of choking poverty by working for the extremely affluent park family. its almost too easy--until it isnt. man everyone says parasite is so good. AND IT IS!!! i cant believe i took so long to see this movie i got to see it with some friends over thanksgiving break and it was so good :] had me stressed for my fucking life sitting at the edge of my seat. has a lot of meat to bite into analysis-wise but is also just so crushing in many ways.. the ending stuck in my head for a long time. rewatching it this january was honestly more stressful in some ways haha

revolutionary girl utena: allegory-heavy commentary on shoujo and princess narratives and the nature of heroism and-- f/f. utena is a girl who aspires to be just like the prince of her dreams. she is somehow wrapped up into an engagement with anthy himemiya, who calls herself "the rose bride." ahhhh i still havent watched the last two episodes actually. people always say "utena is a fantastic show but PLEASE mind every single trigger warning" and its true! utena tackles some really heavy subjects in a way that is delicate, understated, and vicious. i watched a bunch of these episodes late at night in the computer lab and they honestly left me breathless. has so many layers of symbolism to dig through that it can honestly be overwhelming, but also very compelling just on the surface! watch utena. also watch this amv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THN3gYKYojs

the wonderful story of henry sugar: a netflix adaptation of one of roald dahls stories (within a story). it was cute :3 not a lot of sticking power lol but i think this is the first wes anderson production ive ever watched. very visually distinctive!

TILT by nanoray: anime breakcore is one of my truly guilty pleasures. i see the anime girl on the cover and cringe a little bit HOWEVER nanoray is a really good artist. the intro is so liquid... i think the album as a whole really just sweeps you up into a groove. some of my favorite tracks are into and DOGWALK2000 THE LONELIEST TIME by carly rae jepsen: i was so mean to carly rae jepsen in middle school. im so sorry miss jepsen i was just so tired of hearing call me maybe everywhere. im now a changed man. just a really well constructed pop album 👍admittedly not as iconic to me as emotion, but joshua tree and talking to yourself are my favorites atm SAYONARA WILD HEARTS OST: ive never played sayonara wildheart, but i think its a rhythm game about girls fighting each other on motorcycles? with bisexual lighting and tarot cards? but anyways this is a synth-y lush pop album thats super fun! it feels like it tells a story (probably bc it does) and it always makes me want to listen all the way through :3 my favorites are sayonara wild heart and their clair de lune remix
