What are your headcanons about Della?
Tumblr media
I have so many, but tbh my favorite headcanons have to do with her having PTSD - so i can't promise this will be a fun post
MASTERLIST OF DELLA HEADCANONS BELOW:
Appearance:
Scars from the Moon
One across her beak on left side
Scars on her arms and legs
Other markings
Stretch marks especially on her tummy and butt
A few stretch marks on her chest and thighs
Freckles on her beak (because she had triplets and ducks IRL sometimes get freckles after pregnancy)
Other
Chubby pear shape
DD cup size
Squishy belly
Big eyes
Fluffy unkempt feathers (she's bad at preening)
Thin hair (also bad at taking care of it)
Short beak
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Queer Headcanons:
Homoromantic
Bisexual
Prefers to just call herself a lesbian
Ciswoman (doesn't mind they/them pronouns and probably finds it entertaining if she's referred to as he/him)
Supports all of her queer babies
She also does not actively seek out romance, but she isn't offput by the idea entirely
Mental Health and Neurodiverse Headcanons:
PTSD
Hates being alone at any given moment and had to ask Donald if she could room with him in the houseboat for a few months
Genuinely cannot look at her reflection and will be needing exposure therapy
Does not like the feeling of movement underwater because it reminds her of the moon's gravity
Terrified that she'll never be fully capable of being a mom because of the 10 years she missed
Cringes at any moon or space themed items now - sometimes triggers her on a bad day or if she looks at them for too long
Her hair being too long is a trigger for her, so she always keeps it shoulder length or above
She ALWAYS feels cold even if her body temperature is normal and sometimes it drives her crazy
Lots of nightmares about what-ifs - what if it was my kids instead of me, what if it was my brother instead of me, what if i didnt have oxychew, what if i never met the Moonlanders, etc etc etc
The taste of black licorice will genuinely send her spiraling, and because it lingers - it wrecks her for days (she hates similar flavors such as rootbeer)
Finds a lot of joy in warm places so she now loves to be out in the sun
Had a period of time where she wasn't really talking with Penumbra because of the severity of her triggers/ptsd
Both finds peace in dead silence, but it also brings her back to the moon as well - she has a very complex relationship with isolation
Prefers silver over gold (even though she doesn't wear jewelry, she likes silver on others and silver on things such as zippers and buttons)
Spent quite a few years terrified of flying after the horror of her own trauma set in, but it threw her into a big depression since piloting is her passion
Hates taking care of her stump because she doesn't like taking her prosthetic leg off - she sees it as her own, so she hates taking it off even though she knows she needs to when sleeping or showering
She has a hard time looking at her stump and scars because on one hand; sick as hell battle wounds, but on the other; damn was that the worst time in my entire life
Depression and Anxiety
Even before crashlanding on the moon, she dealt with depression and social anxiety
She has a bit of a hard time keeping her room tidy and taking care of herself, but she's phenomenal at putting other people first
Feels as though she's not attractive enough
Wants to be a ray of sunshine in other peoples' lives
She's very scared that she won't be enough for people and therefore she must put 110% into everything she does for others
ADHD and Autism
Her sensory issues tend to directly conflict with her PTSD issues - like she hates silence because of the moon, but sometimes she gets overstimulated by noise and needs the silence or alone time
She does not sleep until her body physically passes out because the change in activity is hard for her to deal with
Goes insane if she feels understimulated because her brain begins to shut down and she dissociates
Many, many stims (sometimes doubles as grounding with PTSD): bouncing her leg, various hand motions, feeling the fabric of her clothes, physical affection with her loved ones, playing with the tightness of her prosthetic (loosening and then tightening it over and over), shaking her head to feel her hair around her shoulders (and solidifying that what she's feeling is earth gravity)
Really hard time understanding social cues that makes her come across as rather ditzy
Special interest in aircraft technology and was a top student at her flight school
Love/Hate relationship with reading because if she enjoys what she's reading she gets invested, but if she's understimulated, the words jumble together in her mind
Not good at math for a similar reason
Fish are a huge sensory nightmare for her; the scales, the smell, the taste, etc
Is generally pretty sensory-seeking, but has a few Hard Nos on textures (such as slimy scales)
Other:
I headcanon Della having compulsive sexual behavior disorder, and her libido especially spiked after being on the moon for 10 years, and it makes her feel really gross at times
Due to said hypersexuality, she gets intrusive thoughts that piss her off
Because of the moon not really having a clear indicator of night and day, Della lost her circadian rhythm and struggles with a Hell combination of non-24 and ADHD insomnia
The lack of general sleep makes it hard for her to lose weight and so she's insecure about that
Physical Disabilities:
Because she was on the moon for so long, the zero gravity and lack of proper breathable oxygen took a huge toll on her, physically
She developed really bad asthma and will likely be recovering from it for the rest of her life
Her lungs can only intake so much oxygen at a time, so she also struggles with shortness of breath
Upon returning to earth, her body was really broken down from the cold atmosphere - causing her to not be able to regulate her body temperature properly
Her bones were weakened upon arrival, so she has to spend years recovering physically from it
Her stump is irritated a lot because she doesn't like taking care of it properly
She owns crutches for when she needs to take breaks from her prosthetic just because of the discomfort when wearing it
She is not afraid to hit Donald with a crutch BTW
IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER SPECIFIC HEADCANONS THAT YOU ARE CURIOUS ABOUT, SHOOT ME AN ASK! <3

The Moon Will Sing by The Crane Wives is Lena Sabrewing's song.
A Lyric by Lyric breakdown ✨✨
Because each verse fits Lena so well it's actually so insane
Like... this song fits her backstory to a T. I'm half convinced she wrote it herself.
also note! I imagine the song being sung by Lena. As in, This is Lena talking to Magica, or telling Magica these things she feels.
another note: this is solely my interpretation of Lena's backstory and how it could fit in the song! any other interpretations are valid but this is my personal take on it.
So without further adieu, here it is!
The Moon Will Sing by The Crane Wives
Tell me once again I could have been anyone, anyone else Before you made the choice for me
Born from the shadows, Lena could've literally been anyone. She could've been just a homeless kid roaming around the streets. She could've been adopted by a family. She could've made friends. Could've started a band. Be a musician. An Artist. She could've stayed in Italy. Be among the people there. Have a life of her own.
But no, she couldn't. Didn't.
Because she was the shadow of Magica De Spell. A mere puppet used for trickery and deception. And the key to setting her former caster free.
My feet knew the path We walked in the dark, in the dark I never gave a single thought to where it might lead
Lena was made on Mount Vesuvius, which is in Italy. She had to - practically on her own - ('cuz i doubt that Magica was helpful) go from Italy to the US to get to Duckburg, whilst being a newly made living person from the shadows, most likely not having a single clue on how to be a person.
She was probably so confused at first. I feel like Magica immediately ordered her to do something complicated and yelled at her for not understanding what to do.
For the first few years, she probably just blindly followed Magica's instructions. She followed the path Magica paved and led her to, and it was littered with shadows and darkness.
All those empty rooms We could have been anywhere, anywhere else Instead, I made a bed with apathy
Eventually, Lena probably learnt about Magica's nature and the morality of it. She probably saw how other people treated each other, or maybe she was able to watch a TV show that showed her what a good and honest person would act.
Eventually, however, she would have to arrive at Duckburg and follow through with the plan her master made for her. She'd be at the place where the main plan were to commence, and she'd have to put her morals aside for just a little more to finally be free.
My heart knew the weight Ten years worth of dust and neglect We made our peace with weariness and let it be
*15 years of dust and neglect.
Lena wasn't cared for in the slightest. It's really evident given how Magica treated her throughout the series. Magica only wanted her powers back, and Lena was the means to get it.
She didn't care about where and how Lena was supposed to live in this world. She didn't even consider her alive.
And Lena knew this, so she just chose to live through the bare minimum. There wasn't any point in her making any friends since she was just a tool. There was no point for her to get attached to anything because she wasn't staying anywhere for long.
And eventually, Lena probably got bored of "living". She grew to care less about everything and everyone around her. Her life was just a means to an end. She didn't and couldn't experience what it felt like to be alive because there always was a shadow lingering behind her, telling her that she was wasting her time on something useless.
Name your courage now We could have had anything, anything else Instead, you hoarded all that's left of me
*insert scenepack of Magica possessing Lena's body*
need I say more?
Swallowin' your doubt Like swords to the pit of my belly I want to feel the fire that you kept from me
She wants to feel love. She wants to feel warmth. She wants to feel the embrace of someone who actually cares about her. She craves it. The love, the lessons, the concern, all of it. She wants it, no, needs it at this point. She'd been deprived of it for so long, it's like breathing air for the first time after being submereged in the water.
And that family, the McDuck family, they gave it around like it was free candy. Sure, she had to earn some of it from Mrs. Beakley, but when she did, the love, concern and the protectiveness was offered to her, not only tenfold, but with no strings attached.
She's never experienced anything like it before. The feeling of security, the love that wrapped around her like a warm blanket. For once in her life, she finally felt safe. And now that the had a taste of it, she can never let go.
The moon will sing a song for me I loved you like the sun
At the end of the day however, looking back, she loved her aunt. Despite all of the torment, abuse, and neglect, during that period of her life, she loved her. It was wishful thinking on her part, but she truly deeply wanted Magica's love, approval, and care.
She loved her. She was her creator. She was there when she was made. And although it was probably grudingly, Magica most likely was the person who taught her the basics of life, or atleast, to blend in with the people.
Bore the shadows that you made With no light of my own
Lena is a shadow, case in point.
Additionally, Lena didn't have a life besides being Magica's sentient shadow. She didn't have a life of her own without her. She was just a slave to her master.
I shine only with the light you gave me I shine only with the light you gave me
She was only as alive as Magica wished her to be (atleast in her perpective). To her, she wouldn't be alive until she truly had her freedom.
And that was the driving force for Lena to go along with Magica's plan. She didn't want to do it (especially after meeting the McDuck family) but she had to. She never had a choice. The only choices she was able to make were in the guise of furthering Magica's ploy for revenge.
So, she shined (had freedom) only with the light (permission) she (Magica) gave her.
And she shined (lived) only with the light (magic) she (Magica) gave her.

Gyro has really had a huge impact on a lot of people's lives in DuckTales. And sadly, he was so overlooked (by both the characters and the production crew)...
Tumblr media
If it hadn't been for his OxyChew supplying Della with oxygen, nutrition, and water, she never would have survived to make it back to her family; the Ducks really owe him a huge debt of gratitude. It honestly bothers me how ungrateful Della was; I mean, I get how horrible it must've been to suffer the taste of black licorice for a decade (and to have the taste permanently stuck in your mouth after that), but c'mon...
Tumblr media
In 'The Most Dangerous Game... Night', if Gyro hadn't shown up with his shrink ray and interfered in the Ducks' game night, Louie- who was questioning how he fit into the family- might not have discovered his talent of seeing all the angles, and how that contributes to the family on their adventures, and how he could use that talent to someday have his own successful business like Scrooge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Gyro hadn't created the armor in the first place (before it became the Gizmoduck armor, back when it was still known as Project Blatherskite and was supposed to be Gyro's ultimate project and solution to regain control over his inventions after they always turn evil), Fenton never would have discovered that his passion for helping others- which he still always loved doing as a scientist, even after becoming Gizmoduck- could also extend to being a superhero. And Gyro actually gave him the new-and-improved model of the armor in the end, which he specifically built for Fenton (self-contained, using Fenton's brain as the core processor this time); granted, that was on Scrooge's orders, and Gyro still thought Fenton was a danger to himself and others in the suit, but the point stands.
Tumblr media
If Gyro and his technology hadn't helped Scrooge get back his gold Rockerduck stole (Gyro happened to be stuck in the Old West with his Time Tub, which was a fortunate coincidence), Scrooge wouldn't have gotten that part of his fortune or that part of his legacy.
Tumblr media
Gyro took Manny on as an intern and gave him his own name- and yes, Frank Angones indeed confirmed he got his name from Gyro, which likely explains why Gyro actually remembers it- allowing our favorite Headless Man-Horse to become more of a normal guy with a normal life like he wanted, instead of just an evil supernatural creature or 'freak'.
Tumblr media
Gyro played a huge part in helping disable the Solego Void before Donald could be erased when Bradford threw him in!
As @sometimes-they-come-back-237 pointed out in a very similar Gyro appreciation post (which I think is such a fun coincidence, and it's so cool more people agree), he saved both Della and Donald, and he deserves a raise (and more respect by Della)!

Ok, so my anxiety really did not allow me to get this out earlier lol. Anyway:
TS songs as Ducktales Characters, part III: Webby Vanderquack
Tumblr media
(I would like to apologize beforehand for the poor redaction you're about to read, neither google translation nor my brain was having it)
If I had to explain Webby's character, I would sum it up with the concept of belonging. Having grown up isolated from the world, only with her granny, Webby needs connection with someone. She needs to belong or connect so much that she becomes obsessed with every detail of the life of the only person she knows, Uncle Scrooge, in the hopes she finds her place in the McDuck family. But, even when she starts to become family, she envies the triplets' relationship for she cannot be part of such intimate bond. She then clings to Lena, the only relationship she formed on her own.
Webby also gives the impression that her desire for an intimate relationship is the reason she supports Dewey despite not agreeing with keeping the investigation about Della hidden: it is something that unites them both in an exclusive way. It would also help her even more to be part of the family: if she gets to be just like Scrooge, then she MUST belong to his family. All for at the end being cruelly reminded that she'll never be family by blood, and, even if she was, family relationships are not unbreakable (speaking exclusively from her point of view at the end of Last Crash). This is why she needs to bring the family together at the end of season 1: she has done so much to form a relationship with the family, but if the family isn't together then she doesn't belong anywhere.
On a separate point, it is this sense of belonging that she has with the family that leads her to give so much importance to her friends and gives them her complete trust. It is friendship that allows her to have a family and therefore makes no difference between family ties and friendships. Hence her blind attachment to Lena.
Season 2, although Webby doesn't have an active role, is consistent with the former idea in Golden Armory: again she needs to prove herself as an equal to the new family member to feel validated. However, after Last Crash she is never again pushed away or questioned as family and her belonging is reinforced again and again, as seen in Found Lamp, where Uncle Scrooge trusts her with an essential part of the adventure, the same goes for Rumble for Ragnarok.
I don't remember much (and I don't have anywhere to rewatch the series at the moment) about her role in season 3 outside the plot twist that I so dislike (and that in my opinion ruins the message of found family and makes her entire development seem pointless), but I do remember that her fear of abandonment is consistent for Fight for Castle McDuck.
Anyway, all this to say that the Taylor Swift song that would be Webby's anthem, in my opinion, would be The Outside.
I've seen other people relate her to Seven or You're on your own, Kid, and although Seven agrees with the idea of longing childhood innocence once it's lost by the maturity that comes with experience (as seen in Harp of Mervana), the lyrics of The Outside expand the idea of loneliness and feeling like you don't belong anywhere, as well as learning to observe people to look for ways to connect. The song was written about going to school and meeting all these new people and realizing that you won't connect with them and will end up isolated, no matter how much you can offer to a friendship. Just as Webby would never be blood related to the Duck/McDuck family, even though she began to relate to them at the same time they reconnected and her fear of the family pushing her aside eventually.
"The Outside"
youtube
So how can I ever try to be better? Nobody ever lets me in. And I can still see you, this ain't the best view: on the outside, lookin' in. I've been a lot of lonely places; I've never been on the outside.
Thank you for reading. Next one should be Huey, but who knows what will come out of that (ゝω・)ノ

DCRC Week #20 (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Guys how has it already been 20 whole weeks time isn't real. Anyways speaking of, we're reading PKNA #16: Extraordinary Repairs which is a huge deal cause it means that after waiting 20 whole weeks I CAN FINALLY DOXX CAMERA 9'S FULL LEGAL NAME AND ADDRESS!!! IT'S S-
Okay FINE I guess I'll wait to say his name until we actually get to the right part in this post. And idk why I've even prevented myself from saying his real name in front of my friends that are going through this series for the first time cause it's not even like a secret or revelation, they literally tell you his name at the end of Day of the Cold Sun in his character sheet, but nobody reading the English fan translations would know that because nobody has uploaded translated versions of the character sheets (yet...) ANYWAYS
Just as a heads up to anyone who is reading this comic for the first time, the English translating here is a little scuffed (I assume whoever translated this chapter wasn't a native English speaker) so there are occasional grammatical mistakes but nothing too severe that it limits the effect of the story!
Tumblr media
Angus I can PROMISE you do not want to start doing research into Everett Ducklair, do you know how many fuckin doomsday weapons he kept "accidentally" making??? You don't want the smoke.
Tumblr media
What kind of fucking idiot steps into an elevator shaft without stopping to see if the elevator is ACTUALLY THERE omfg I hope he hits the bottom and dies
Tumblr media
GUYS HE SAID THE- HE SAID THE TITLE OF THE CHAPTER!!!
ALSO HDL MENTION 🔥🔥🔥
Tumblr media
guys.... there he is.... the man of the hour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
shoutout to the way the other guy is drawn in this panel btw (his ears fell off I guess)
Tumblr media
OHOHOHO TRENCHCOAT REVEAL!!! GUYS I AM GIDDY AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I JUST THINK HE'S NEAT
Tumblr media
HE SAID THE THING
Tumblr media
why he ourple
Tumblr media
OHHH YEAHHH IT'S YA BOI STEFAN MOTHAFUCKIN VLADUCK!!! Who appears to be constantly having a series of PTSD-related war flashbacks but ummm let's not worry about that right now
Tumblr media
It's really interesting to me that Donald is a fan of Stefan's work. I mean media was obviously different in the 90s but still, when's the last time you heard someone bring up their favorite photographer? Either Stefan is FAMOUS famous or Donald is one of like 10 people that like to read the credits under newspaper photos.
Tumblr media
This panel makes me laugh cause out of context it looks like Stefan is running away from PK (on account of his huge torn up fucking evil looking cape) bro is literally FNAF 2 jumpscaring at him
Tumblr media
I FUCKING TOLD YOU
Tumblr media
Coolest character design of all time (literally just a duck in a trenchcoat)
Tumblr media
What have you seen WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN. 200 page comic docuseries covering all of Stefan's horrifying past experiences NOW!!!!!
Tumblr media
You're telling me Ducklair was in his basement building fuckin DINOSAURS??.... ok I can't lie that's cool as fuck good for him
Tumblr media
So close except actually not close at all. Granted PK does hang out in Ducklair Tower all the time, but it's not like Angus knows that 😭
Tumblr media
Love how much this laser gun just looks like a regular pistol
Tumblr media
Me reading poorly written analysis posts of DT17 sorry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love evil fucked up PK can we keep him like this actually
Tumblr media
PAPERINIK MURDERS ANGUS FANGUS IN COLD BLOOD (REAL)
Tumblr media
Nvm we just gave him a concussion. also hi Stefan 👋
Tumblr media
Also we drugged him. Y'know just for good measure!
Tumblr media
NO FUCKING WAY YOU GUYS EYEBALL REVEAL 🔥🔥🔥 HE HAS GREEN EYES. or at least one green eye... I guess he could have heterochromia or something whatever
btw this is the most we'll ever see of his face so SOAK IT IN FOLKS (at least, the most we'll see in PKNA, there's like one singular comic from 2016 that shows his entire face if you're curious. You can just google his name and the photos will come up.)
Tumblr media
SHOUTOUT TO THE LITTLE CAMERA 9 END HERE IT'S SO SILLY.
I love this issue, Camera 9/Stefan is probably one of my favorite characters. He's just fuckin cool man idk what to tell you. He's fairly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things but I like having him around, he's a fun character to add as a little bit of flavor to a series with so many ongoing narratives. I do wanna highlight this bit of text from the bottom of his Paperpedia page (which has been auto-translated from Italian and might be a bit off):
Tumblr media
I'm so incredibly intrigued by the analysis here because, if true, I wanna know whose idea it was to start referencing classical Luigi Pirandello literature in a Donald Duck comic. I'm not saying I don't want my duck comics to have commentary on media sensationalism and alienation, but I am saying that it's certainly unexpected. Still a welcome topic!
I used most of my image limit covering the main comic so I won't be able to add a lot about the bonus comic but I will say: WAHHH WAHHHH THIS IS THE LAST TRIP COMIC 😭😭😭 at least for a while anyways. There are the Trip's Strip comics but I haven't seen anyone translate those into English and they also start at like chapter 40 so
Tumblr media
Is the Raider just fucking allergic to dressing normally like what's going on here. Also HAHA TRIP THOUGHT HIS DAD DIDN'T COME TO THE GAME BUT HE WAS ACTUALLY WATCHING THE WHOLE TIME, EVERYONE POINT AND LAUGH 🫵 YOUR DAD LOVES YOU HAHAHA LOSER
Goodbye Trip, my sweet summer child... my child who sucks so fucking bad. He's the worst I'm gonna miss him. And ummm see you later with more spooky Carl Barks!

Hello!! Normally I don’t do this kind of thing but I was rewatching Let’s Get Dangerous to try and sleep and had some thoughts.
How much of Bushroot’s character in the special is a purposeful rework because they wanted to use the design inspired by the Twin Beaks episode in DWD ‘91 and how much of it is just plain misinterpretation of his character? Let me explain.
There’s two lines specifically that have me thinking about this. First is when the triplets stumble upon him, Dewey says “It’s Dr. Reginald Bushroot, a prominent scientist who was accidentally turned into a plant monster.” The second line is when DW, Launchpad, and Gos are about to face against the F4, Launchpad and DW both say “Well technically Bushroot isn’t a villain, per se.”
When in context of the original ‘91 show, these statements are both flat out false. Bushroot is originally ridiculed by his peers despite actually being brilliant and this leads him to being fired and continuing his experiments on his own. He very purposefully gives his experiment one last shot by testing it on himself to prove his hypothesis which turns him into the plant hybrid. In the reboot it’s framed as an unfortunate accident when in the original he wanted to do it and was elated when it worked. Everyone else just had a bad reaction when they saw the results.
As for the second line, I feel like because Bushroot is arguably one of the most sympathetic villains, people consistently want to look past his actions and motivations to identify him as maybe an anti-villain type. But based on his actions, he’s more than definitely a villain. Visual body count alone, he’s killed more than the other fearsome four members. He’s the first to bring up the suggestion of killing someone as a solution multiple times during fearsome four team ups. He also picks some of the most brutal ways of getting rid of who he’s fighting. In Easy Come, Easy Grows he was just going to let Gosalyn, Honker, and Launchpad get run through a mulcher and was pretty indifferent about it. He mentions that it’s final and messy, but otherwise is content to be rid of his issue. I know a lot of the time these situations are played for gags but if you look at it objectively it’s kind of fucked up LOL.
His reasoning a lot of the time is that he just kind of wants to be left alone to tend to his plants, and because most everyone ran away from him before he became a villain (and the one time he tried to go undercover he was trampled lol), stealing and otherwise committing crimes is just easier. I think this along with his more timid personality makes people forget he’s totally not afraid to kill someone if it leads him from point a to point b. All of his desires are selfish as well which is more of a villainous characteristic, especially with how it is used for his character.
I understand wanting to support Bushroot because most of the time he just wants to be left alone and his origin is a little sad, but I feel like disregarding the fact that he is a villain who has committed very bad acts for selfish reasons is a disservice to his character. There’s nothing wrong with liking or wanting to support a villainous character, I root (heh) for Bushroot a majority the time lmao. Anyway that’s pretty much all I wanted to say. Side note, I hope in the DWD reboot they don’t take DT17’s approach to Bushroot because I think ‘91 Reggie is a much more complex and interesting character.

I can't remember if anyone's ever thought of this before, but how fun would it be for Beakley and Gandra to be spy sparring partners, post-series? Not real fighting, but mostly training.
I imagine Bentina regularly trains just to keep herself sharp (despite her age and experience), and that Gandra always did the same. And even though I hc that Gandra would mostly put her spy life behind her now that she's with Fenton, has a much better life and support network, and found great success with the GizmoCloud (I hc its success in the international scientific community allowed her to get the genuine respect and recognition she's always yearned for, allowing her to get offers for all kinds of freelance gigs, so she would no longer be desperate enough to only team up with crooks and villains who who only used her), I still think she would want to keep her spy skills sharp, just in case.
I can see them exchanging playfully competitive banter (Gandra: That all you got, grandma?), and them being genuinely impressed with each other's skills, and Gandra learning a lot from Bentina's experience. Of course, Gandra would make the mistake of being a bit too cocky a few times, and maybe Bentina would also underestimate Gandra once or twice 😁
I think they would get along decently! And they would definitely keep each other on their toes.
I can see Webby also joining in as a sparring partner, and them being impressed with each other's skills too (Webby would be fangirling like heck after each round with Gandra, and Gandra would play it more cool with her compliments but still be genuine).

I agree with the fact that a lot of these episodes are wack in season three but as someone currently writing a whole essay on "Quack Pack!" alone, I'm gonna have to disagree.
Yes, Donald does in the past use his anger to protect his nephews and those around him (we see him do that during the battle against the hairless apes later in the episode) and wishing for a normal life is the way that Donald wants to protect his kids again.
Let's take a retrospective of Donald in Dt17. In the first episode he's forced to move from his safe status quo (remember the safety vests?) into a place of danger. After that point he no longer has control over the safety and health of the boys on their adventures. He literally cannot keep them safe in most situations. That's terrifying for a guardian of 10-12-year-olds! Especially as a guardian of Dewey!
Over the series Donald has been kidnapped, he's gotten hurt, he's had a mental breakdown, he's been imprisoned on the moon and a deserted island. In "Quack Pack!" he even says, "...silly problems, comforting music, and a nice ending with no one getting hurt, lost, or captured."
Donald had those things happen to him and wouldn't know what to do if it happened to his boys. For once he put his anger away to protect his boys, and that protection was to be like a normal family (or what the status quo of a normal family is in the Duckverse).
Yes, I agree with you, the episodes and characters of season three are off. I think the show should've stuck with the formula of focusing on a duck brother a season rather than that. But I do think Donald was justified in his want for a normal family, even if it wasn't what was right.
:)
Who else felt that Donald acted very OOC in Quack Pack? The season 2 episode Whatever Happened to Donald Duck shows that Donald cares deeply for Louie, Dewey and Huey, so much so that he channels his anger into protective parental instinct, because the mere idea of anything bad happening to the boys enrages him, and shows how deeply he cares for the boys as their surrogate father, who had to raise them himself after their mother's disappearance...
...and then Quack Pack comes along and ruins that. In the episode, Donald pretty much traps his whole family (including his nephews) in a sitcom-like fantasy world of his own making against their will, and when they explicitly tell him that they don't want this, he refuses to let them go just so he fulfills his selfish desire of wanting to have a "normal family", completely ignoring any consent from his family, including his nephews.
I don't really think the guy who would do anything to protect the three boys he raised for their whole lives would really do something like this. Sure, you could argue that Scrooge forcing a life of adventure onto Louie and Donald is just as selfish, but it's in character for Scrooge to do that. It's not in character for Donald to do this.
I LOVE Ducktales 2017 but man the third season's handling of some of the characters' was...questionable, to say the least.

May we discuss Ducktales and Body Language, especially in 'Astro B.O.Y.D'?
I want to talk about Gyro throughout this episode and how he acts, specifically because I noticed something really interesting. His character development for both his own growth, and what we learn.
Tumblr media
Let's start with the earliest example, a small detail. When 2BO first returned to evil, courtesy of Akita, Gyro immediately began hyperventilating. While it may not have been as severe as that of Donald in 'The Town Where Everyone Was Nice' it's still something to note to show how much of an impact this has on him. Just in Season 1 he dangled dangerously over the gold in Scrooges bin while Bulb went mad with power and had a lot of strength and sharp things he could use yet Gyro didn't shake or look this scared. He looked nervous yes, but not terrified.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second one, the 'I have to do this for me'
We've all had that Atticus Finch/Kirby Finn/ most protagonists moment where you did something, not only to help a person in need, but because you had to do it to prove something to yourself. The same thing goes for Gyro here. You can watch as he says 'You save Gizmoduck, I've got to destroy 2BO' he takes a deep breath and does the hand movement thing where it's like you're convincing yourself of something. He's got to face his problems and last, he can't let people keep fixing it for him. He can't brush this off or ignore it, he's got to be the one to do it. Gyro in this scene must prove to himself that he's capable of this. Furthermore when his plans get changed by Huey, he needs a minute to realize he's not destroying 2BO (or in his mind, his greatest failure) he's stopping him. Which brings us to this,
Tumblr media
The Blame for His Guilt.
All these years and it's shown that when 2BO destroyed the city, it appeared to be Gyros fault. Heck, there's a newspaper in Akita's hiding place that shows exactly that. When Gyros blame is changed from; 'I did this. This was all my fault and I've got to change it' (which is the mentality he's had for years) to 'I was the scapegoat. It wasn't my fault, I couldn't have controlled it.' That is something you really don't want to realize, it's much harder when the blame that's been set for years changes, and it's even worse when he realizes he couldn't have stopped it. That command was to be executed no matter what, Gyro couldn't change that. So he lashes out now. He angrily shouts and charges as it becomes clear that he's been burdened with guilt, stress, anxiety, and pressumably some PTSD (which we will discuss in a second) from this. The way he moves in this shot especially you can see the pain on his face and the anger in his body as he goes at Akita. He's believed for years that he caused the Tolkyolk Disaster. That he failed. That his inventions were evil which is why he later in life tries so hard to justify his inventions being good. Gyro realizes he's been carrying a burden with him for so long he never needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Intern Habit Returns.
This is a tiny note but one I love seeing. Cinematic parallels. The moment Akita arrives Gyros acts the exact same way he did when he was an intern. Scared, gripping a rectangular thing that holds information, and cowering. All at the sight of Akita.
((I think it's safe to assume Akita was abusive))
Tumblr media
Scared. This one was when Gyro saw Fenton on the ground, temporarily incapacitated. He's scared for him. It's really sweet to see him actually care and be scared for Fenton or anyone besides Bulb. It's growth.
Tumblr media
This time when BOYD is hurtling dead at him and he's begging, pleading, for him. This is the first time, in twenty years, he's told BOYD he's real. Was he denying BOYD being real because he didn't want to accept that everything horrible had indeed happened? Or was he saying that by BOYD being 'definetly real' his inventions were good, His ideas were valid and he himself wasn't a bad person? Both of these ideas really work for Gyros character. It's known he struggles with self-doubt and it's also known he doesn't like what happened in Tolkyolk, so much so he only vaguely describes it at the start of the episode. It takes a flashback for us to fully find out what happened, that's how little he discusses it. When he throws himself infront of the same invention that destroyed an entire city, trying to reason with him. That's character development. That's Gyro stepping up and taking initiative and proving to everyone that he can fix his messes, he can do good, he is more than his reputation. And to anyone, that would be terrifying. It's scary to think of stepping up and putting yourself in danger just to protect those closest to him. Yet he does it anyway.
--------------
That's all for my analysis, please rb if you have more you want to add on or if there's other pictures/scenes you want analyzed!

Huey, Dewey, and Louie's canonical age.
A question everyones had since the show began? How old are the triplets? Well, it took me about less than 2 weeks to analyze it on my own, but I have figured it out.
So putting this out now: the triplets actual birthday
Tumblr media
Remember to keep that in mind.
Now, in the time progression of "Whatever Happened to Della Duck", Della must've crashed the same day the triplets hatched since the one year anniversary of her being on the moon is ALSO the triplets first birthday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then 10 years past meaning they are in present time at that moment.
Tumblr media
Now, the "10 years later " time period takes place BEFORE "The Shadow War" so Della has no idea what they look like yet. But, it might've taken place after "Mount Neverest".
Moving on to "Mount Neverest", it is stated that the episode takes place during Christmas, meaning their birthday has already passed.
Tumblr media
Which now makes HDL 10 years old.
Now onto "Moonvasion", an episode that timeline wise takes place after "Last Christmas", meaning that the triplets birthday has passed yet again. It is also stated that the triplets, at the time, are 11 years old.
Tumblr media
Now onto Season 3, I could've sworn in "Let's Get Dangerous" they state somewhere that it takes place during Fall, but I don't know where and it might just be a Mandela Effect but still there's "How Santa Stole Christmas" to let us know that the triplets birthday has passed again, making them 12 years old.
And now, in "Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker", in one scene you see a calendar on the door behind Kit. And what month is it according to the calendar?
Tumblr media
That's right, it's May. Which means that the triplets birthday have passed yet again.
In conclusion for the triplets, the show started when HDL were 9/10 years old and ended when they were about 13 years old. This means that the show takes place in the span of about 3 and a half years.
Am I right about this? Hopefully. If not, I will lose more of my mind than I already did making this post. Now hopefully, we can all stop being so damn confused on what these kid's ages are.

TS songs as Ducktales Characters, part II: Louie Duck
Tumblr media
I think Louie quickly became a fan favorite for how easy it was to identify with him: his entire family is good at something he doesn't even enjoy.
In promotions, Louie was introduced as "the tongue" of the group and the most troublesome of the brothers, the evil triplet per se. Season 1 sticks to that: he is greedy and lazy. As such, showing Louie's negative qualities and its consequences was never a problem: Dime Chase shows all the trouble his laziness gets him into and the entire Living Mummies plot is about his skepticism and arrogance ruining adventures.
But in season 2 they go one step further: Louie has self-esteem problems regarding his uselessness in adventures (which scare him), but his way of analyzing and setting up scams is special in the family and relates him to his mother. He still lacks humility and responsibility, which he spends the rest of the series trying to learn.
Now, let's go with the Taylor song. My candidate is Mastermind.
Yes, I know it's a love song, BUT Mastermind, despite its romantic context, talks about all the planning and plotting you have to do for people to be interested in you. The part that matters to me for this is the bridge, where she explains that this is all due to the rejection she has suffered in her life and that all the plans she makes are because she cares about what people think of her. Almost the same as how Louie hides behind his identity as the sharper in the family, so they don't see him as just the one who ruins the adventures.
"Mastermind"
youtube
No one wanted to play with me as a little kid, so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since to make them love me and make it seem effortless. This is the first time I've felt the need to confess. And I swear I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian 'cause I care.
I'll try to get back soon with Webby if my anxiety allows it ( ´∀` )b

Ok I know it’s been almost a year since this post, but tonight I was playing Among Us and while someone was trying to kill me I had an epiphany.
Just hear me out, why Webby colored her own eyes blue in a weblena draw she made while Scrooge’s are… “green” if she’s her clone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s because Scrooge had BLUE eyes when he was BORN
Tumblr media
Think of this: Webby inherited Scrooge’s traits from genetics, but she can’t inherit what Scrooge acquired across his life. She can’t inherit scars, she can’t inherit surgeries, and she didn’t inherit the reason why Scrooge’s eyes changed: GOLD
Tumblr media
In the comics, one of me most iconic and unique moments in Scrooge’s life (besides the first dime tale) is when he finds his first gold nugget in the Klondike.
Tumblr media
Even moments before that, he realized that the moment he proved the muddy rock he found was gold, his life would totally change, and there’s the possibility that even HE could change as well.
Tumblr media
The moment he decides to take that risk and submerge it in the water and then take it out, looks like if the golden shine of the nugget literally blasted his eye’s color, because that decision of his life changed him.
Tumblr media
He was not the same Scrooge before and after that. The gold changed his reality from a poor enthusiast to a real rich entrepreneur, and this also changed him in his insides -> eyes are the window of the soul, so his eyes color changed as well, his life now changed forever, all about gold, fortune, business, a new himself. Gold became part of what he is, so: blue color from birth + yellowish/golden color from gold = his new himself, his new soul, his new green-ish eye colors
Tumblr media
That’s why his eyes are different from Webby’s draw. She didn’t choose that blue color of herself because yes, it’s because those are her real eye colors!
And that’s why she never suspected a relationship between her and Scrooge. She can document and investigate Scrooge with all the newspapers and evidence she wants, but she’ll never know about this because that’s something no one ever documented, because it happened to Scrooge when he was alone. She only heard of documented stories and reports, but she wasn’t there, she’s not living Scrooge’s life, she has different adventures, she’s her own person, her life experiences are different, her soul is different because unlike Scrooge, she has friends who filled her own soul with her true self. That’s why she doesn’t care about treasure and gold, because it’s not part of her, her soul. She’s the first innocent soul Scrooge had before gold took part of who he is, and that path eventually took him to fall in greed and tragedy, leaving him alone, only with his precious gold. (Also, notice how this makes sense with Matilda’s eyes being blue as well 👀👇).
Tumblr media
And not even pictures from Scrooge’s childhood could have helped Webby decipher that, because in that time photos were black and white…
… and no one can distinguish blue and green eye colors when the pic is black and white.
Tumblr media
Anyways, thanks for coming to my rambling talk of the day 🙌 sadly the Impostor killed me in the game I was playing so I’ll go to play another game.
So, I was thinking about something. In DuckTales, there are exactly four characters in the show with canonically colored irises (not counting power-ups): Boyd and Gandra both have blue eyes, and Goldie and Gosalyn both have green eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, that got me wondering: What color eyes would the other DuckTales characters have? For simplicity’s sake, I’m limiting it to natural eye colors (brown, blue, etc.)
Comment or reblog with some ideas and explanations!
