Ok I’ve got another DW x LP headcannon here, so stay with me.
Right let’s go to the episode ‘my valentine ghoul’. In this episode Negaduck tries to woo Morgana, in order to use her powers for his evil plans.
Through a series of events, Darkwing is struck with a love potion, which makes him fall in love with the first person he sees. Basically Darkwing falls in love with Negaduck.
Now you may be wondering, what does Launchpad have to do with all this, he’s not even in the episode??
Ok so, Darkwing, under the influence of the love potion calls Negaduck loads of nicknames like nega buddy, pal, chum etc. I do understand that these nicknames were a result of censorship, but still, hear me out.
The fact that he calls Negaduck all these nicknames under the influence of the love potion suggests that these are the types of nicknames that DW would use on the person he is truly in love with.
Right? Now who does DW use these nicknames for without the love potion??? LP!!! He constantly calls LP buddy, or pal. He always uses these nicknames, without any sort of prompts, it’s just natural to him.
Moral of the story is that, DW uses nicknames that he would use for the person he loves, for Launchpad.
Therefore DW is in love with LP. Case closed.

Does anyone else think it's absolutely heartbreaking that Gosalyn's most treasured keepsake of her grandfather is tainted by the guy they thought was a trusted friend, but betrayed them both? It's bad enough Gosalyn was forced to sacrifice her only chance at finding Dr. Waddlemeyer in whatever dimension Bulba banished him to, but she could never again look at that photo of her and her grandfather together without being reminded that Bulba tore them apart. 😭😭😭
The symbolism in the photo is very telling. Bulba is literally standing between Gosalyn and Dr. Waddlemeyer, and he literally came between them with his treachery.

Launchdad? 🤨 🎤
LAUNCHDAD 💪
thanks for the ask! i had this sketch lying around so the timing is perfect.
launchpad and gos’ dynamic is so incredibly important to me. her rambunctious, rebellious spirit and endless energy paired with launchpad’s bottomless positivity and chill aura is so perfect. he’s the most supportive, sweetest father figure she could possibly have. i love how in the show she has no apprehensions about coming to him with anything, and always feels safe with him. it’s how things should be, and a nice change of pace next to drake’s short temper.
one of my favorite scenes in the whole show is in the alien queen one near the beginning when they’re all three on a road trip, and gosalyn turns her home camera to launchpad and says “show us your true self!” iirc and he takes his hands off the steering wheel to make a silly face at her LAWLLLL the dad humor with launchpad is strong. not to mention drake’s immediate chastising him to keep his eyes on the road. they are so married <3
i just love how playful launchpad is with her, yet he always takes her seriously and talks to her on her level. he not only cares for her more than anything but respects her and is always honest with her, which is earning some serious parenting points in my book.
he’s already cultivated such a healthy relationship with her and provided so much security for her before she even calls him “dad”, which i’m almost certain she’s never done in canon. but, i can easily see her doing so by mistake and quickly correcting herself, only to leave launchpad a sobbing heap of overwhelming pride and joy at the title <3
launchpad playing mediator between drake and gos is also so important to me. drake loves her to death, there’s not a doubt. and i know he wants to be the best parent he possibly can for her, but what he lacks in emotional presence he makes up for in over-protectiveness. and i LOVE that we see growth and change in the show, and he is learning more every day! but let’s face it, launchpad is infinitely more approachable.
i think drake sees so much of himself in gos that it’s sometimes hard for him to take a step back and analyze things cooly. like, he was bullied for being a geeky wimp. gos snarls at anyone who implies she isn’t at least as tough as nails. drake had to learn to make it on his own and defend himself when he had no support. gosalyn has had to say goodbye to everyone closest in her life. drake overcompensates for his fragile ego and seeks attention wherever he can find it because he NEEDS to prove he’s the best at everything all the time in order to be worthy. everything gosalyn does when she’s ‘acting out’ is either to earn some kind of respect from drake or to rebel in a search for some relief. drake had no support so he builds four walls and a roof around gosalyn so she never has to be alone, ever.
launchpad stands in the doorway of that box with a smile and a warm hug locked and loaded, because he also knows what it’s like to be alone. can we just. talk about how isolating it is to be so kind? just for a minute. can we talk about how launchpad isn’t capable of giving any less than his all. he pours everything he has into everyone he meets because he also knows how much it hurts to be left, and he doesn’t ever want to be the reason anyone feels that sting. he greets everyone with his signature 100 watt smile that only flickers at the threat of harm done to those he cares for, and provides an immovable rock of support at all times. do you ever wonder why he has exes all over the world yet lived alone in a hangar before meeting drake? do you ever wonder if it was his incessant positivity that pushed people away or his determination to not be a burden ultimately leading to an emotional divide unsurpassable by a well hidden vulnerable side, ironically buried beneath all of this sincerity? do you ever wonder how heavy that heart on his sleeve is?
hey. hey anon whyd you have to give me this prompt /silly
#sorry that devolved into LP analysis so quickly but as you can see i am so insane in the head about this showBSDNND#asks#anon#launchpad mcquack#gosalyn mallard#gos#LP#drake mallard#darkwing duck#dwd#giddly’s art#no id#im at work rn so this may be a bit disconnected and shoddy whoops

So would you say you're glad Quackerjack ended up different in the series than Tad Stones originally envisioned him?
I am absolutely happy that Quackerjack turned out totally different than what Tad Stones wanted him to be.
I mean full respect to Tad Stones, but I don’t think having QuackerJack’s personality be more like The Joker’s would have been that great of a choice.
You see, while he does have his more serious moments, Quackerjack is more so the goofy/“whatever happens, happens” type of character. And I love that about him.
And he kinda explains his own personality in the episode, “The Haunting of Mr Banana Brain” where he says to the possessed Mr Banana Brain/Paddywhack: “But Mr Banana Brain, you know Darkwing Duck always ruins things. It’s no big deal, it’s just part of the game.”.
By this quote Quackerjack tells us that to him what he does is just a fun game. He does actively try to succeed in whatever he does, he’ll even gets upset if he doesn’t win, but at the end of the day it’s just a game. And that is what I love about Quackerjack so much. He’s all about fun, it’s not that serious to him, even if the fun is a little harmful.
If Quackerjack had been what Tad Stones originally envisioned him to be like, I honestly don’t think he would have been anywhere near a favorite character of mine.
So yes. I am thrilled that Quackerjack’s personality got changed.

Favorite Evil Doppelganger Villains
Negaduck - Of the "Evil Twin" variety, we have Negaduck from Darkwing Duck. Something of a parody of Reverse Flash, Negaduck cuts straight to the point of his trope by being pure, cartoonishly, over-the-top evil in a way that is both hilarious and genuinely menacing. This is mostly due to Jim Cummings' voicework, as the cold, snarling, raspy voice he gives the character can easily flip from lovably gleeful in his evil-doing to murderously serious on a dime. And I'm not kidding about the murder part: guns, chainsaws, flamethrowers, bombs, you name it...there's no weapon Negaduck won't brandish with lethal intent. Whether it be in Darkwing Duck, DuckTales (2017), or his new comic series, Negaduck is always a blast.
Yami Bakura - Of the "Superpowered Evil Side" variety, we have the Spirit of the Millennium Ring, aka Yami Bakura, from Yu-Gi-Oh!. Possessing the gentle, kind and soft-spoken Ryou Bakura is the exact opposite: the 3,000 year-old spirit of a brazen and psychotic but cunning tomb robber that has been assimilated into the soul of a demonic god. What makes Yami Bakura such a great villain isn't just how evil he is or how smart he is or the lengths he's willing to sink to in pursuit of his goals...it's just how long he is willing to play the game. It takes 230 chapters (manga) and 188 episodes (anime) between his introduction and the final story arc for Yami Bakura to have everything he needs to set his master plan in motion, but he is patient enough to wait that long, and the pay-off is more than worth it. Add to that stellar voice-acting from both Rica Matsumoto and Ted Lewis, and you have a villain to remember.

Consider, this:
isn't Ducktales 2017's version of 1991 Darkwing Duck. This is their 1960s Batman.
This,
Launchpad's self-insert fanfiction, is 1991 Darkwing Duck.
(Does he later re-write his favorite episodes to swap out Jim for Drake and include Gosalyn as well? Do they contribute ideas and this is how they each work through their individual traumas? Is the weirdness of the the 1991 cartoon a reflection of how LP sees things? Does he write Bushroot different from how he appears in Jim's version of the show?)

CHARACTER STUDY: Liquidator, Representation of parody or oblivion by the script?
INTRODUCTION
Good morning / good afternoon / good evening or Good night, Returning with the third character in this analysis, Liquidator / Bud Flud. First of all, this post wasn't the easiest thing to structure, especially when the character doesn't exactly have a good depth within the program itself, so let's not leave aside the points to add to these characters, there is a guarantee of better reach with the public when the screenwriter explores how to think and until the end he will realize some things that basically they would have made him one of the strongest of the superhero's main team of adversaries, without further ado, let's follow the information.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS ABOUT SENSITIVE CONTENT: NONE
DARKWING DUCK SERIES - Taking everything the show SAYS for itself
The episode “Dry Hard” is characterized as the first and last of great participation in the sense of having attention on his abilities, there was a comic strip, but publicly only one. To sum up the basics, Bud Flud is one of the businessmen responsible for selling water on a very hot day and to earn the final income he poisons the water of his opponents. Until he is stopped by Darkwing Duck until he meets his end as a normal dog. Later, chemists somehow brought him back to life and enhanced his abilities so that they could manipulate matter and its form, giving enough idea to snot the total water of Saint Canard and sells the fresh water expensively (I don't know where this guy got the water from, if it wasn't his I don't know but where he made it appear). Luckily Darkwing has the upper hand when he beats him by throwing cement from the local construction site and learning something from the episode. Unlike those who remember, Darkwing used his own opponent as a garden decoration (old-era Disney wasn't The family friend, was it?).
DARKWING DUCK FANDOM - Building everything that was formed for the fans together with the most indirect interpretations perceived in my participation when writing or drawing with lore
There is a great personality who worked finger by finger on the character of Liquidator, whoever walks in the community must recognize the great effort and quality of this artist's work, so I also want to add to the old ones from the first internet communities like Devianart and Instagram, have been working for quite some time on adding abilities, design variation beyond their basic concept of a mutant water dog.
The point that I will highlight as its differentiation in our main universe that we will have in this meeting is that the character received a few more things from references, from a renewal of its personality, adding some points and making it go a little beyond sales dialogues. Give to cauterize a mix between a character with little social filtering/sincerity and a bit of a sensor of ease in getting into fights (it is not possible to go into too much detail, this part is better worked on than said). Trying not to leave this passage too vague, the character here gets a light dose to flourish his best characteristics that range from confidence (perhaps pride), greed (a big point) and professionalism, being able to say that in his episodes he failed to defeat the protagonist. However, there are some moments like the boiling water trap for the water modification that could have easily resulted in a filming accident, originally the villain 's animation is SIMPLY WEIRD, only, only weird, of course there's not really any indication that it was intentional by Darkwing, however it seems to have been a moment... of possible poor elaboration in the scene? It's an opinionated piece, but honestly here, Darkwing Duck barely showed any resentment or guilt over the ACID DEATH of a criminal, yes, criminal, however in this version there is a makeover that shows that it was an accident and without attempts at humor here, this moment could really have a more dignified passage and less than an episode of the week. Darkwing Duck really isn't the type who wouldn't take passages involving death, this isn't one of the first times.
IN DARKWING DUCK appearing in the episodes:
"Just Us Justice Ducks, Part 1" (Season 1, Episode 20)
"Just Us Justice Ducks, Part 2" (Season 1, Episode 21)
"Life, the Negaverse and Everything" (Season 1, Episode 35)
"Dry Hard" (Season 1, Episode 36)
"Darkwing Doubloon" (Season 1, Episodes 40)
"Jail Bird" (Season 1, Episode 62)
IN DUCKTALES 2017 appear in the episodes:
"Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!" (Season 1, Episode 11)
"The Duck Knight Returns!" (Season 2, Episode 16)
"Let's Get Dangerous!" (Season 3, Episode 12)
IN COMICS (Boom! Studios and Joe Books):
"The Duck Knight Returns, Part 1"
"The Duck Knight Returns, Part 2"
"The Duck Knight Returns, Part 3"
“The Duck Knight Returns, Part 4"
"Crisis on Infinite Darkwings, Part 3"
“Crisis on Infinite Darkwings, Part 4”
"Dangerous Currency, Part 1"
"Dangerous Currency, Part 2"
"Dangerous Currency, Part 3"
"Orange Is the New Purple, Part 1"
“Orange Is the New Purple, Part 2”
“Orange Is the New Purple, Part 3”
DARKWING DUCK/DRAKE MALLARD - Story adapted without extreme spoilers, just adding the changes, ideas on his biological identity and influence:
One thing that is important to note is that we gathered information from the episode and with the loose ideas that we already had about what led to the character's acceptance of crime, for now.The main point is that we improved the approach with their own solo appearances and made it a little harder to win. One example is that now cousin Mortimer has a better participation in the character's past. :›
LIQUIDATOR/BUD FLUD - Conceptual And Final visual:
Concept art Vs Final Design
Not enough data…
Canon Redesign
DEVELOPMENT
The first point not to forget is that the character deserved as much attention as the others in terms of giving him room to deepen his skills, of course, possibly the animation was not very cheap, But then why do they still bring the same character who only had one episode? This is your chance! Liquidator is a perfect villain to give the protagonist trouble, he not only manipulates water (and possibly is not entirely water), he himself is an unstable chemist with unknown capabilities. Able to change the state of a liquid, transition components, general manipulation of one's own body, in addition to low damage capacity, this super villain advances without difficulty within a police conflict. If Saint Canard hadn't already had some budget misappropriation, they would have reformed the banks as well as the police department to keep this villain in (yes, in the comics it was easy for him to have simply broken the glass, IF BY CHANCE it was glass). The question of the character's abilities is pure experimentation, both in script and in combat, and,the only thing that seems to be able to bring this character down is purely pricing his original body, very similar to some other characters in the cast of characters with liquid bodies, right? I can't say anymore for now, secret AU information.
> CREATIVE WRITING: What ideas can be worked and how can each one fit in?
RELATIONSHIPS:
In this process, you can work on the character's relationships as you prefer, whether platonic, loving, intimate or aggressive, the dog's relationship with others. Would he act with Negaduck the same way he did with the other Fearsome Five? Would he be open to questioning or would he find a way to manipulate the situation for his own good? Would he still have any family he would like to meet again in another life? But what reason prevents him from doing so other than mutation? Dynamics are the soul of stories, feel free to respond with your observations about this mischievous dog.
THE IMMORTALITY:
Before working on this issue I will add a theory that I tried to formulate with zero experience in chemistry, Maybe it didn't come out very well, but I'm going to transcribe what I explained in private to an acquaintance. "The fact responsible for making the jealous is the neutralizing component in the character of the donor due to three factors, CaO, H2O, CO,2, KOH and NH4, summarizing what these components found in the productivity of the agricultural process leads to the decay of electrons to a positive form of a homogeneous mixture (on this side the entire Liquidator is internally heterogeneous and nothing mixes), then the jealous has components that neutralize making a base mixture, because in the end jealous is the base of water." Summarizing what I said there.
Structuring this concept, the fact responsible for the opportunity for rebirth and maintaining the character's consciousness makes his body purely unstable to maintain each item. This point is visible because its shape is always spilling and is basically impossible to be physically damaged. Of course, with this concept the only object of damage to your body is through reactions or addition of components that break down in water, ranging from soap, chlorine, liquid or powder products in general. However, this is a theme that influences the character's personality and life, because it can gradually make him feel the consequences, perhaps destruction of the components, seeing everyone in his friendship circle die, becoming a completely unhuman figure and perhaps making him as crazy a criminal as the rest of his team, and, If this observation is correct someone could easily threaten him with this weak point in mixtures.

CONCLUSION
This post ends here, I will not complicate the information as much as I had planned, unfortunately, without a bonus about the theory of what reaction Bud performed to bring his life back.Possibly messing with the fictional more than actually some technical source of what I expected, well, I'm leaving, see you around, BYE-EEE!

She saw her father first. He emerged from between two large mounds of robots, dressed as Drake Mallard instead of in his Darkwing Duck regalia. Which was probably why she hadn't been able to find him earlier; she'd been looking for the trademarked purple suit. Seeing him in his civilian outfit, as her father rather than as his heroic persona, caused tears to spring to her eyes. She really was home. Gosalyn sprinted towards him, blinking away the tears. He swayed upon seeing her. For a terrifying moment, she thought he might collapse all together, but he kept his footing and leapt over heaps of destroyed robots, running towards her. They met in the middle. Drake slowed down as he got closer. Reached out and seized Gosalyn's face in his hands, his blue eyes raking over her features. She smiled, tears cascading down her cheeks, which he wiped away.
Chapter 20 of "That's Christmas To Me", from the Geronimo Saga by @rebellingstagnationblog
I don't deny it, after this ask, and having read the analysis of Drake's situation in that story, I couldn't resist wanting to capture the scene where Drake can FINALLY take a breath when Gosalyn, his beloved daughter, returns him.
This saga of stories can really cause a whirlwind of emotions.
BONUS:
It's canon that Negsy is Scrooge's protégé! (yay!)

Yeah, okay, here goes:
I think some fandom infighting would be less toxic if we a really understood that all of us are here for different reasons.
And I don’t just mean that different kinds of stories are going to be helpful for some and hurtful for others and vis-a-versa, or that different people are going to tell different stories, you know, differently, and that should do our best to let people enjoy things. I mean that, at the end of the day, there’s a spectrum of the parts of fandom people enjoy.
For example, I have a sibling who’s in some fandoms strictly for the transformative aspect of fandom. Canon is more like a jumping off point and, to some extent, an afterthought. Their primary interaction with whatever a fandom is centered on might be fanfiction and other fan works. The characters and world they interact with in those fandoms are often completely unrecognizable from canon. The goal is often to create characters—self-inserts or otherwise—to exist in completely new stories that are (vaguely) informed by canon, but not beholden to it in any way. Most everyone in that fandom has a self-insert OC or a Y/N. The whole point is taking something you like, or wanted to like, and shaping it to fit you better. That’s fandom for them. And that’s great!
And then there’s me, who’s almost the exact opposite. Canon is more of a focal point. I love seeing fanfiction and fanworks that completely veer away from canon events and characterization, I appreciate them, but I don’t like making them myself. I love to write, but I have a hard time writing fanfiction, I couldn’t write a fic-it-fix to save my life (no, not even in the highly unlikely hypothetical scenario where it turns out a lot of us are wrong and Tech is dead for real). The closest I get to fanfiction are either short little half analysis/half story blurb posts, or doodley fanart that’s either a theory for something I think could happen in the future in disguise, or silly drawings about scarves. I compartmentalize fanon, my headcanons, and actual canon a lot. And I love seeing people’s OC’s, including the self-insert ones, but I dont want to make one myself. I don’t want to be in the story, because it isn’t about me; one of the things I love most about interacting with fiction I didn’t write is that it helps me get outside my own head and see things from a different point of view. I write a lot of metas and theories, but my favorite thing is being able to look a story that’s completely told and done, and getting to tease it apart. And that’s also okay.
Now, the two points I’m using as examples aren’t really opposites; there’s a ton (A TON) of very good character analysis and interpretation in fanfiction, and there’s often (maybe even usually) transformative aspect to analysis/intepretation. And I’m betting that most people in fandom fall somewhere in the middle of the range between transformative and interpretive when it comes to what they like about fandom. A lot of people write great fanfiction and equally great meta posts, and honestly, I think being good at the one makes you better than the other. But they are different approaches to enjoying and interacting with fiction, and I think at least a little of the friction in fandom can come from not recognizing that we all often have different approaches to this fandom thing.
Edit: I need to also mention that when it comes to interpretation and analysis, there’s a lot of wiggle room for contradictory conclusions that are all equally valid. Do I think that interpretive conclusions not supported at all by the text exist? Oh boy howdy, yes. But I also think there’s a lot of space before you get there, and a lot of ways for even one person to interpret the same thing, let alone an entire fandom.
Edit 02; I should probably also acknowledge that, as a lifelong Darkwing Duck fan, I also really enjoy shows or even books where ‘canon’ is more like a loose set of guidelines or a basis premise and the whole idea of the show is to do wacky things with that premise. I’m way more likely to get involved in the transformative side of things when this is the case.

The three of them recalling the story!!
The three of them going to the museum as a family!!!
Darkwing and launchpad being sweet to each other!!!
And let’s not forget THE PICNIC SCENE!!!! Look at them holding hands!!!
Anyways yeah, this is definitely my favourite episode!!!

In 'The Last Adventure', does anyone else call bullshit on how Stealbeak using that Intelli-Ray on himself made him an unbeatable fighter (to be clear, I'm talking about fighting ability, not strength)?? I think it might have affected LP the same way in 'Double-O Duck', but it makes no sense! What does super intellect have to do with your ability to fight?? Those are two separate things! By that logic, Gyro should be the world's best fighter!
It just bothered me how Gizmoduck got his ass kicked so easily (and how Steels was able to deactivate the suit), because this wasn't his first rodeo! He was an experienced superhero by that point, not some rookie; he'd been up against lots of tough villains!
It made Fenton look really bad in the final episode.
And I'm sorry, I get the show was trying to give LP his final big moment and bring his 'hero arc' full circle, but "We may be heroes, but you have the heart of a hero"... come off it!! I agree that LP did inspire both Fenton and Drake to become heroes in their debut episodes, but how does Fenton (and Drake) have any less the heart of a true hero??

Overly Formal Introduction
Welcome to the Tumblr page of Reading Too Much Into Things, a failed Youtube pop culture Archeologist, Archive, and Analysis channel with a primary focus on Japanese Tokusatsu (live action special effects) primary two branches, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai for recap and review purposes. It lasted for, I think, a year and a half. But enough about me, what do YOU think about me?
While I am not on the same side of any spectrum that will land me with an overriding Hyper Fixation, I do have a LOT of media I care deeply about, know an annoying amount about and will over share, or will get very defensive over criticisms over. I refuse to define myself or my personality off of being a fan of one of, or any, of these popular mass medias.
Fate franchise (stay/night, zero, grand order primarily)
Kobayashi's Maid Dragon

Do you think the right therapy could help Quackerjack?…or is it too late?
I personally think so. If you want to count the Darkwing Comic, “Toy With Me” as canon to the original series, Quackerjack started out his job at QuackWerks legitimately excited to be working there.
Unfortunately, his own paranoia, stress, he even thought the company was rejecting himself as a person whenever the company rejected his ideas, all of that resulted into him having a mental breakdown and he became a worse version of who we saw in the series.
We don’t get a lot of information on QuackerJack’s life from when he worked at QuackWerks and was Claire’s boyfriend, but Claire doesn’t strike me as someone who would willfully fall in love with a criminal. She insisted to Darkwing that QuackerJack, or as she called him Jacky, wasn’t a bad guy anymore. So if we take her at her word then I think it’s safe to say that working at QuackWerks, at least for a little while, helped QuackerJack a lot with his mental state.
Now if we add therapy at top of a stable(ish) work environment, an actual home to live in/livable environment (I think the closest thing to a house QuackerJack ever got was a apartment that he was seen in one time in the episode, “The Haunting of Mr Banana Brain), and having someone who lives with him/someone who he sees everyday who genuinely cares about him, then we add therapy on top of that…Then I genuinely think that QuackerJack could become a better person.
I’m not saying he would get better anytime soon. But if this supposed therapist was genuine in wanting to help QuackerJack, then yes.
I think therapy could absolutely help QuackerJack in becoming a better person.
