side order was obviously psychological and physical pain for 8 (what else is new) but have you ever thought about how much fun they could've had in certain levels?

mostly with the fact the ∞-ball levels can be a nice session of exposure therapy considering 8 has been an unintentionally traumatized 8-ball murderer for however long they were in the metro (aka: the balls no longer fall!! they're saved!! its a late squidmas miracle!!!!), and also they can occasionally watch from afar as the battering lentos (big boi fishes) somehow solve things while playing with it.

there's also the fact two of the bosses sing BANGERS. absolute icons of their generation. where would we all be without the new idols that are my bois asynchronous rondo and pinging marciale???

also 8 gets to witness the true power of gay moms in the elevator of all places with a very done with life sanitized dj who might as well be their sassy aroace cousin who most definitely talks shit about everyone /j

tl;dr side order is peak comedy at times and fanon 8 should be shown to have at least a bit more fun than ive seen.

Headcanon that Zeb is the only person on the Ghost crew (possibly in the entire galaxy) who has First Name Privileges when it comes to Kallus. If only so we can get the following exchange:

OH- Oh, I was expecting the awkward grind through the first season of podcast voice acting and sound design, but Fathom/Derelict does not have that. I am absolutely vibing with this so far.

AU where Meggy gets turned into a vampire and Mario gets turned into a werewolf

They were bit in completely separate incidents and are keeping it secret from everyone, including each other and the rest of the Crew.

Luigi's the only one who knows that Mario is a werewolf because he was there the night Mario got bit (well, nearly mauled to death is more accurate).

Meggy initially doesn't have anyone who knows about her being a vampire, at least until Whimpu happens to stumble across her while she's feeding.

Mario can shift voluntarily into either a very-big-but-seemingly-normal wolf form, himself with wolf features, or a big scary wolf-man form, but it takes him a while to properly figure out how both because he and Luigi have to figure it out with no help and because he's an idiot.

He's also got an uncontrollable fuckoff-Massive wolf form with a mind of its own that he turns into when there's a full moon.

He's got some wolf mannerisms now, obviously

While Meggy does have the classic vampire weaknesses, they're thankfully the manageable versions (so the sun does hurt her but sunscreen deals with it, mirrors and cameras only don't work if they have silver, needs to drink blood but can still eat normal food no problem (unless it as garlic obviously), etc.) since for plot reasons I need her to actually be able to keep it a secret.

She can shapeshift into a variety of animals, not just bats, and one form in particular makes all the shit she has to deal with now almost worth it: Vampire Squids are a thing that exists, which wouldn't matter for most vampires with how situational it would be (due to vampire squids specifically being deep sea squids) but in her case it means she gets to have her Swim Form again (though modified a bit since vampire squids have webbed tentacles with tooth-like spikes on the underside)

Also I know that vampire squids are actually octopi but let me have this

The vampire and werewolf that turned them are still at-large and causing trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom (including making more vampires and werewolves, many of which are less inclined than Meggy and Mario to not follow their new darker impulses), bringing all manner of monster hunters out of the woodwork to deal with the problem (some, like the Belmont Clan, are more competent and altruistic than others, like the Guards (because of course those two would want to get involved in the latest violent trend)), which is a large part of why the two of them are keeping themselves a secret

Another big part is of course the fact that Anti-Shroomy Exists

It also turns out that Bob was a big-name monster hunter a few hundred years ago, and shockingly he's easily the most competent of all the hunters in town, so the Bros, Meggy and Whimpu are understandably extremely wary of him right now

and as if the situation wasn't bad enough, Demon Peach has somehow managed to crawl her way out of the Creep Pit and is prowling the Kingdom (surprisingly stealthily for something of her size and disposition, I might add)

And idk if it's moreso a crackship or a rarepair that only works in an AU (HACKS up Starstruck), but Reggie's line of "...and I hope Ollie made it out too. I hope a lot of things." It's totally me reading into it but like,,,,I want them to talk because Ollie is not dead to me in my heart of hearts.

Maybe the only change is like Reggie taps into the communication on the radio in Hot Water instead of using the earpiece, so Ollie ends up hearing him also? And they end up getting along really well (with Reggie having to jump through a couple hoops to be like "haha what agency..."). There's an Agency base in the South-East coast of Australia and maybe the Agency ends up adopting him after he washes up on the shore with the escape pod (after HEAVY questioning).

Rehabilitation Chapter 1. The aftermath (An Agent 24 story)(This story in cancelled atm)

The events at Kamabo Co. just 2 weeks prior had left agent 3 a shell of her former self.

As the beeps of the heart monitor echoed through 3´s head, she tried to shift and get more comfortable. Only to be met with the truth she was yet to accept. She couldn't move. Nor could she talk or see for that matter.

So there 3 was. Stranded in a sterile hospital bed. Alone with her thoughts. It was hell.

Every few days someone would come by and visit. Most times it was Callie and Marie. Sometimes they would bring the Captain with them. That was the only good part of 3´s days. They would mostly talk about how Octo Valley just isn't the same without her. 3 liked hearing that they all cared for her, as she was practically raised by the Cuttlefish´s. But all good things would come to an end as eventually they would have to leave. And just like that... 3 was alone again.

It went on like this for a months. 3 showed no signs of improvement though. The Squid Sisters were a lot busier now too. It had been weeks since their last visit. 3 was at the lowest she had ever been. Until an unexpected surprise came.

3 had heard a knock upon the door and it slowly creeping open as someone steps inside. 3 got exited, maybe the squid sisters were back again. But, 3 only heard one person. They sat down and started breathing heavily, almost as if they were nervous. ¨H...Hello.¨ the voice said. 3 did not recognize the voice, though she did recognize the accent. It was inklish, but with a very heavy octarian accent. ¨S... orry for.... you.¨ the mystery figure managed to squeak out. After, there was a very long silence, only interrupted by the mysterious figure mumbling something to themselves in octarian and then leaving the room.

It was quite an odd experience for 3. Although with no way to ask any questions, or get any answers, she was yet again left to sit alone in her own thoughts. Only this time, they were all about this mysterious Octo.
