i can never keep track of my favorite songs but i do have a couple artists i love that come to mind!! :33 so!! in no particular order……

1/ yorushika

actually i lied yorushika is in fact my number one always and forever if yorushika has a million fans i’m one of them if yorushika has one fan that’s me if yorushika has no fans that means i am no longer on this earth. yorushika is a jpop/jrock band consisting of n-buna (songwriter/musician) and suis (vocalist) and they mean the whole galaxy to me their lyrics are so insanely good i use them for writing inspo all the time and in general they’re just?? so good??? their songs always feel so bittersweet and nostalgic and the instrumentals are soo incredible…. this is my favorite band of all time they fr changed my life i highly recommend checking out any of their songs/albums bc they have literally never missed. I Fucking Love Yorushika.

we all saw it coming let’s be real i don’t know a single queer jjk fan who doesn’t love mitski we literally owe her everything? jokes aside it actually took me some time to warm up to her songs, at first i only loved her lyrics but eventually i saw The Light. her songs have this specific melancholic vibe that i’ve never found in anything else and i eat it up every single time ….. i adore her instrumentals and her voice and obv her lyrics !! i resonate a lot with them AND i associate them w lots of jjk characters (especially sugu wbk he’s a mitski girlie).. i just really love her !! she’s Mother always and forever :)

Relationships

Link (aged to an adult): Confidant. The way to describe our relationship is a complicated one— we were incredibly close before the Calamity and had been in multiple battles together, though as King Rhoam had gotten more desperate for Zelda's powers to awaken, we started drifting apart because of our duties. The fondness I have towards him that implied more than just friendship had vanished due to losing my memory, and those feelings don't make it's return. And of course, he's an amnesiac too.

Zelda: Close friend. Before the Calamity, she had given her approval/blessing to Link and I because of our bond. Other than that, she's roughly the same as canon

Jack: This isn't seen until the Tears of the Kingdom era, but we were old souls that had reincarnated from the Zonai/Ancient Hylian period— lovers that promised to find each other again somehow... even though Sheikah technology had put me in regenerative stasis for a century and he wasn't around for the Calamity to happen. (AKA I'm not putting this man through the same fate as me)

Revali: Also complicated in a sense. He had romantic feelings towards me that I didn't know about, but it never got addressed with the severity of the impending Calamity. I only found out when Teba gives me a pile of unsent letters that were with Revali's diary. I apparently don't find some peace of mind until the gap between the events of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, despite having seen his spirit.

The Rest of the Past Champions (Daruk, Mipha & Urbosa): We were very close friends with all of us working towards one goal— sealing Calamity Ganon. But that didn't go too well, now did it?

Teba (has his own because he doesn't become a Sage): He's.. a guiding figure in a way? His dad talks are helpful when I'm not trying to instigate any banter for the hell of it while trying to get my memories back

The New Sages (Sidon, Yunobo, Riju and Tulin): God, I adore them/p I have almost a sibling bond with all of them, especially Tulin since he's itty bitty in the Breath of the Wild era. I wouldn't be surprised if I come up with silly nicknames for all of them

Purah and Robbie: They're dorks, but in a smart and silly way. Buut Purah pestering Link and I about our memories while trying to get them back has caused Link (or myself) to lash out a couple of times. Yeah, good stuff/s

for reading, i’d say on earth we’re briefly gorgeous (shocker!) and all of my favorite poems. as well as anything by ao3 user hatsuna!! specifically, everything is old is new is old is new again, pas de deux, and i wish to live in a world. i think those are her best works. do read!!!! they changed me as a person!! fuck!!!!!

for watching, definitely kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai and whisper of the heart! kaguya-sama is my favorite anime because it’s hilarious and heartfelt, every character is lovingly crafted and kaguya is just me in anime girl form. i could not recommend it more!

whisper of the heart is not only my favorite ghibli movie but also my favorite movie of all time. i remember when i watched it vividly: some january, probably 2021; a crisp and bright winter scene of me, a thirteen year old girl struggling with high school entrance exams and a desperate urge to create despite my heavy doubt in myself and my skills. and there, on the screen, was shizuku: another girl, thirteen, fellow entrance exam crammer and aspiring writer. and then she went on a journey, grounded in reality but just as magical as any other ghibli movie in its own right. she tugged out the story kept away in her heart and made it into something real. she found love, and it made me believe that i, too, could do the same.

when it comes to listening, i’d say the entirety of sidney gish’s discography but especially ‘mouth log’, ‘sin triangle’, and ‘impostor syndrome’, paramore’s after laughter, a good handful of mitski’s songs but specifically ‘your best american girl’ and ‘goodbye, my danish sweetheart’. ‘valentine’ by fiona apple always. and i have a couple of playlists made up of songs i identify with: this one that’s more angsty, and this one that you and my other mutuals made !!!

2. have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?

ao3 user hatsuna…lol. our thinking overlaps a lot and when i find myself rereading her fics i keep wishing that i was the one that wrote certain lines because they’re so good and voice my exact feelings. i’ve grown past the blind idolatry that i used to treat her writing with, but now i can point out things i don’t like or would change. still, i love her writing and feel super connected to it!!! and a huge shoutout to kafka.

27. do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the “real you”?

definitely not. i’d like it to be, though. of course body dysmorphia has to do with it (it always does, as it bleeds into every corner of my life), but it’s also a matter of presentation. most of the time i’m either wearing my school uniform or pajamas and a big sweater. which i wouldn’t say is the best representation of myself..!

i want to fill my closet with pretty, flowy things, because i love those styles! i want to experiment with makeup because i love all the glitters and blushes, but it’s so expensive that i only really own mascara and lip tint. but for what it’s worth, i like my hair for its color, waves, and curls; i like my eyes because they’re a very pretty, deep brown, and the mole above my left eye is my favorite part of my face! i’m still fashioning my presentation of myself, and that’s fine, i think. finding out how to present myself in the truest way will come to me in due time!

scott's pov is SO fucked up and this is my favorite example of it. like one commenter pointed out, the line invokes this sense of innocence and happiness and then in the next few lines i immediately juxtapose that with present scott, who's unhappy and in pain and desperately trying to convince himself that he's doing the right thing by pushing jimmy away.

4 (whats your favorite line of dialogue):

“That’s not what I want to hear, not at all. I’d rather you be happy than love me.”

this is arguably jimmy's best line in the whole fic. it's so bittersweet- it's in response to scott being all angry and bitter and demanding if jimmy's happy to know he was mourned- and jimmy just comes in so gently, so softly, like 'no, no, id rather you to be happy'. I was so proud of this one.

IT’S PERFECT BECAUSE . i think the lyrics work both ways !!! i can see both sets of lyrics being from reader’s pov; loving suguru makes it easier for them to love the world . they want him to call them by name. but it also works well from sugu’s pov…. he aches for them and yearns to follow them . he loves it when they call his name, too. they’re both yearners…. what can i say…..

ANOTHER VIBE-BASED SONGGG i also love this one mickey … it’s so beautiful and soothing :((( i imagine it playing during the scene where suguru shares a bit of his past with reader . sitting by the windowsill in their room as the moon glows….. and then he carries them to bed and tucks them in :) i can picture him humming them to sleep with this song.

honestly !! i associate a lot of my character/reader pairings with seasons …. especially this one though. i’m also always thinking about your little knight and prince and how he’s the summer to their spring :3 in my case i think suguru is probably reader’s autumn!! a bridge that softens the gap between summer and winter…. he gives them stability and comfort. and they give him both summer and winter. he meets them right in the middle <33

IT’S ABOUT . the violence . and tenderness. a person who thinks they’ll bring this brighter, kinder, more ”pure” person nothing but pain . reader assumes they’re too much for anyone to handle so they keep everyone at arm’s lenght . i think they view the people they admire as paintings. and they’re convinced they’ll smudge the canvas if they get too close . but deep down they want to be accepted, claws and all :(((

and suguru does!!! they both accept each other as they are . a fox and a wolf. suguru will let reader bite and hiss and claw at him as much as they need. he won’t love them any less . and reader sees suguru covered in blood, manic and frenzied, and still only thinks about how beautiful he is . how nice their name sounds when it’s falling from his lips . they don’t love each other despite their flaws or because of their flaws . they just like each other. scratch marks and all . i’m normal abt them btw

THIS ONE 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 MICKEYYYY HOLD MY HAND. this one is almost TOO perfect . i love the crane wives and so many of their songs would fit super well into this fic …. but this one is just . insane . the album cover even has a little fox 🥺 BUT AAA JUST . the instrumental and the LYRICS … i’m gonna need to really pick them apart because they’re so unbelievably perfect for royalty!reader i’m going to. scream.

OK SOOO . crows . are a bit of a motif in the fic. crows remind me a lot of suguru maybe that’s why. then there’s also the garden, which is mentioned a lot in the fic too!! all the flower imagery…

but . here’s the thing. royalty!reader is a Liar. they lie. they wear a mask. they’re not honest with their own self and not with anyone else either. and they assume everyone is looking down on them. i can picture them looking out into the garden, seeing those free crows, and imagining their cawing as mocking laughter . it drowns out the sound of their own lies . (crumbles to the floor)

🥺🥺🥺 this line is so…. pretty. and hopeful. it makes me think more of knight!sugu than reader because i think he’s done many things he can’t forgive himself for . but the forgiveness he yearns for is just within reach . all he needs is a push. and i think reader more than anyone wants the better things in life — for themselves and for their knight.

then there’s the bird line ….. as much as he pushes and pushes for that connection, he’s just as scared as reader is when it comes to intimacy!! his hands turn into birds and fly away from them . he’s afraid of crossing a line or boundary. i tried to show it in the fic but like …. he’s very particular about certain things . he’s willing to bend certain rules (esp later when his devotion starts sticking more to his lord than his knighthood) but he’s Very firm about other things . like not calling them by name at first . it’s a little… too much for him. knights really have to tiptoe that line.

…. there’s this one arthurian work that i love. that you’ve definitely heard about bc it’s so popular + they made a movie out of it and i don’t think it was a good adaptation but it was soooooo so good as a movie . gawain and the green knight….. I DON’T WANNA RAMBLE TOO MUCH BUT UM. i love the arthuriana :333 and i’m mentioning this story because gawain is tested on his value as a knight right. there’s a whole thing about how he kisses a man’s wife because it’d be impolite to deny the lady’s wishes (rejecting her would go against his honour as a knight), but he can’t sleep with her because that would go against … his honour as a knight. it’s a whole. purity thing. you need to be chivalrous but also chaste. so knight!sugu acts all charming and flirty but when reader wants him to cross the line between them he’s like 😳 yeah. he’s . a silly little guy .
