PLEASE tell me about Kimari I saw an art fight of her and I love her already
AAA im glad u like her!!! shes my main bitch here lemme tell u
kim is a wild child; she's not afraid to be herself, even if it pushes other people away. she would much rather find people who appreciate her authenticity than pretend to be someone she's not just to keep people around. which is why she loves Justice so much; he is the first romantic partner she's had who uplifts her and encourages her to be herself around him.
she's my main dnd character that ive had for like 10 years atp. idk it might be shorter but she started as my skyrim character and i converted her to dnd a few years ago
she is a 35-year-old half water genasi/elf in a sci-fi space-exploration campaign. she's a bounty hunter for the main part of her story, which is how she meets her boyfriend, Justice (my fiance's character hehe), who is a minor antagonist at first. that changes the entire trajectory of her life, eventually leading to her joining up with the main party.
before she met Justice, she was mostly going around and having very short-lived flings with anyone who would spare her a passing glance. yknow, until she would eventually scared them away with her mannerisms and overall vibe. spoiler alert: her shitty ex from her past spread nasty rumors about her because he was stalking her. she doesn't know that, so assumed that she was just too much of a freak for people to wanna be around.
she is not afraid of laying into people, especially if they cross her. she knows her way around a good battle of tongues, in more ways than one. WINK
her favorite past times include music, fashion, and revenge. she likes giving people what they deserve, albeit only justifying it for herself. her favorite food is lemons, because she loves the texture of biting into them with the skin on. a few words i associate with her are:
whore, cunt, girlboss, fish, slut, uhhh... did i mention cunt? cunt. yes.
theres a lot of art on her toyhouse page i posted above, but even more that i havent posted. i might actually start uploading some doodles there tonight because i have um. a lot of them
anyways thanks for the ask!!!! im always happy to rant about my little freak <3

2022 Fanfic Review
(I was a little busy with the last few weeks of the year. Better late than never lol)
Number of stories posted (to AO3): 29 (plus 4 Stardew Valley fics since last year)
Published word count: All time: 239,748. Year 2022: 43,460. (Another 3,952 words can be added to both for fics published exclusively to Discord for now.)
2022 fic-writing goal: Publish at least ten more chapters of Rusalka before 2023.
Met? No, but eight out of ten chapters published isn’t too bad.
Fandoms written for this year: Stardew Valley and Fire Emblem: Three Houses (no big surprise).
First fandom ever written for: Darkwing Duck, written over ten years ago and before I knew it had a fandom.
How many kudos total received this year: 180 (565 from 2021, 292 from 2020, and 157 from 2019, a total of 1,194 since starting in 2019).
Work with the most hits: Rusalka (FE3H) with 3,493 hits and Dinner Date (Stardew Valley) with 2,181 hits.
Work with the most comments: Rusalka (FE3H) with 41 comments, followed by I Was Your Man (Stardew Valley) with 8.
Most popular stories (this should be top five by kudos/likes, but to cover a work written this year, AO3′s top five, and the top five Stardew fics (across both sites), it’s a top eight this year):
That Summer, That Night (Stardew Valley) with 88 kudos and 139 likes.
Always. For All Time. (Loki TV Show) with 157 kudos.
Luau Mayhem (Stardew Valley) with 49 kudos and 82 likes.
Dinner Date (Stardew Valley) with 107 AO3 kudos and 20 Tumblr likes.
Rusalka (FE3H) with 96 AO3 kudos and 7 Tumblr-snippet likes.
Dearest Companion (FE3H) with 91 kudos and 8 likes.
I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues (Stardew Valley) with 22 kudos and 70 likes.
Home (Stardew Valley) with 28 kudos and 61 likes.
Quickest work to write: I Was Your Man (Stardew Valley), probably four days for writing and editing.
Longest work to write: Rusalka (FE3H), 29 months and counting lol.
Longest work of the year: Rusalka (FE3H) even with just the 35k words published this year, followed by As Ships Sailing Past At Night (Stardew Valley) at 3.8k words.
Shortest work of the year: I Was Your Man (Stardew Valley) at 1.5k words. From all time: Our Friend Linus (Stardew Valley) at 666 words. Of FE3H’s all time: Until The Bitter End at 1.8k words.
Work I am most proud of (regardless of hits/kudos): I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues (Stardew Valley) and Rusalka (FE3H).
Work with more feedback than expected: I Was Your Man (Stardew Valley). It turns out, lots of people like a girlboss-Marnie and Lewis-getting-what-he-deserves fic.
Pairing written the most for this year: Ferdinand/Dorothea (FE3H) and Harvey / a farmer OC (Stardew Valley). No new pairings this year beyond a brief Marnie/Marlon (Stardew Valley).
Favorite pairing written for this year: To my surprise, Seteth/Manuela (FE3H).
A pairing I wish to explore next year: Sebastian/Abigail and Harvey/my OC Kim (Stardew Valley), followed by Claude/Hilda (FE3H) if by some miracle I get around to it. Honorary mention to Twilight/Yor (Spy X Family) which I adore, but might not write.
Number of WIPs in docs for next year: At least five.
Rusalka (FE3H)
Thirteen Meetings (FE3H)
That Summer That Night Chapters 5-6 (Stardew Valley)
When You Come Back To Me Again (Stardew Valley)
Harvey/OC Kim story (Stardew Valley)
Favorite character to write this year: Hmm... Maru? (Stardew Valley). Ferdinand (FE3H) has been fun too.
Character who gave the most trouble in writing this year: Any characters in my years-old unpublished WIPs lol, so primarily Kim (Stardew Valley OC) and Ignatz (FE3H).
Any collaborative works this year: No. I haven’t ever co-written a fic before.
Written any gifts this year: Two gifts for Stardew Valley, each Harvey and Farmer OC fics. The farmers are word-ghost’s Peach and elleasinwoods’s Elle.
Received any gifts this year: One art and one fic (yet to be publicly published), both for Stardew Valley.
Most common category: Gen (19), followed by F/M (11). Lots of overlap erring into Gen.
Most common “Additional Tags” tag: Platonic Relationships (occasionally followed by can be romantic). It’s a low number though.
Ever written a crossover: The closest you get is video game characters (Stardew Valley’s Maru and Sebastian) in one game experiencing another video game together (Subnautica).
Ever received hate on a fic: Nothing with great vitriol. I’ve had occasional corrections when I mistakenly used an incorrect tag or an opinion on how I should have worded an idea, but nothing rude.
Ever had a fic stolen or translated: No and no. I’d faint from shock the day someone asks to translate a fic of mine into another language.
What I listen to while writing: Nothing; I prefer quiet and isolation. Sometimes I listen to music before I write to get in the mood, but usually I find music distracting.
Artists’ songs used most (if any at all): I don’t often use song lyrics, but I did use three this year; a couple chapter titles from musicals, one short fic title from Elton John, and another short fic title from Bruno Mars.
Own work I reread the most: Rusalka (FE3H). I reread and edited earlier chapters for polishing up and the sake of getting a word count of 69,420 after publishing Chapter 16.
Favorite fic written this year: Yes??? I love all five!
Favorite title used: I Was Your Man
Favorite line/passage written this year:
I Was Your Man (Stardew Valley): ‘ “Do you, Marina Cabrera Armenta, take Marlon Ward, to be your lawfully wedded husband?” Marnie didn’t even pause to glance to see him in the crowd. Her eyes were only for Marlon. Without hesitation, she said yes. “By the power vested in me as Pelican Town’s former mayor by the Ferngill Republic, I hereby declare you, Marlon, and you, Marina, husband and wife. Dear nephew… kiss your bride already.” The others in town laughed and cheered as Marnie removed her veil and Marlon brought a hand to her cheek and they kissed tenderly. Marnie never looked so happy. This Marnie was not the one he had known, but had he ever really known her at all? And now Lewis has his whole empty retirement to ponder this. ’
Honorary mention to a Rusalka (FE3H) excerpt published this year, but first drafted in 2021: ‘ Ferdinand craned his neck to better look at her face. There was only a trace of the tears that dried on her cheek. Again, his heart ached. That is enough, he chided himself. He must not fall under the delusion that someday Dorothea may grow to love him back. The woman under his arm is not one falling in love with him. No; this was a dear friend who is simply tired, tired of facing the great challenges life relentlessly gave her. A dear friend of whom he could only dream of being more than a friend. His own feelings were not worth compromising what has slowly become a wonderful friendship. She may never return his affection, and he already learned to accept that fact. The memory of her like this would forever haunt him, like a shadow burned into his side, but that did not matter. What is most important is that she feels comforted and safe. Ferdinand shifted ever so slightly in his seat, to make himself more comfortable. He managed to resist the urge to kiss her forehead, but chanced on brushing some strands of hair from her face, gently tucking it behind her ear. Dorothea exhaled deeply, and the ghost of a smile crossed her beautiful face. Who knew that a heart could feel so heavy and yet so light at the same time? With a puff of smoke, the candle beside them went out, casting them into darkness. Ferdinand closed his eyes, and allowed himself to drift to sleep. Come what may, he would protect the queen who many years ago won his heart. ’
Biggest surprise while writing this year: I hadn’t been too greatly attached to Manuela’s character when I first started writing Rusalka, but even with the little excerpts this year building up to a bigger moment yet to be published... dang. She has excellent angst potential.
Top scenes from anywhere you would choose to have illustrated(TM): I listed two last year. The Stardew Valley one came true in the form of a gift art. The other is a now published scene of Rusalka (Chapter 16) of Ferdithea dancing together at a masquerade ball.
Story I haven’t written yet, but intend to: For Stardew Valley, a Hallmark-esque Sebastian and Abigail story in which years later for a Winter Star, Abigail returns to Pelican Town from Grampleton divorced and with a son and reconnects with Sebastian, who had moved to Zuzu City and is visiting his family for the first time in years and just after a nasty breakup.
Writing strengths: I tend to apply grammar rules correctly on the first draft. I also enjoy doing research for my writing, and I like to think it shows in my stories if you’re looking for it. Character details briefly mentioned in its canon? Referenced. Character from a culture I am less familiar with? Culture researched so I get a better idea of the character’s upbringing and how it affects their personality and thought processes. Affliction I haven’t dealt with personally? I research the symptoms from a scientific standpoint as well as testimonies from fictional and real life people.
Writing weaknesses: I like to be as canon compliant as possible. If a story has not yet ended, then it is difficult to write my own ending. At best I can think of a scene that could plausibly take place with what has been established in mind. (Sorry Twiyor!) Also, I err on being overly concise with my prose and occasionally mixing up verb tenses.
Fic-writing goal for 2023: Finish Rusalka (another ten or eleven chapters). For every Rusalka chapter not published in 2023, write and publish another short-story or a chapter of a new story from any fandom.

I love these Lost Adventure comics. They're short but pack so much extra lore or character facts.
But I really REALLY like it because a majority of the stories heavily involve Sokka. They really want you to know that he is the one who causes the problems, adapts, and grows from them. He's never afraid to ask help from his friends, especially when they're the ones who can get him out of sticky situations. He has this everlasting trust in them and inscrutable optimism no matter how badly things devolve.
My favorite story so far has to be the one where he and his father collaborate to take over a fire nation ship. Sokka came up with the plan and Hakoda never questioned his son once. Everyone knows the plan is foolhardy but they place their faith in Sokka's strategy. I really liked that.
There are lots of moments of Sokka girlbossing his way out of situations where he'd die if he didn't, ex: infiltrating the fire nation army, escaping, and when caught, pretending to fight the avatar and die in battle. Those fire nation soldiers literally made a memorial for him.
When Combustion Man found him and Aang on the train, while Aang battled, Sokka broke into the engine room and taught himself how to operate the train in under 10 minutes. He really doesn't get enough credit for how badass he is.
Seriously, when they make textbooks about the 100 year war, Sokka's going to turn up in so many unrelated significant historical events haha
Also love how he pulled an Aang and accidentally enrolled himself as a teacher in a fire nation school and ended up kinda being good at it 🥺
Alright, but the poem he wrote. Man. (I'm going to skip to the most important lines).
Oh, I know: Sokka and his dumb jokes.
Sokka who lost his girlfriend to the moon.
Lots of battles to fight, lots of strategy to craft. It's a busy life.
But then the night comes.
The air is still, the waters placid, the fire banked, the earth dense and unyielding.
No one is combining his soul with a spirit. No one is reincarnating. No one is kidnapped.
Everything sleeps. Everyone vulnerable, barefoot and drowsy.
This is me at my best, when people I love or revere or both need me whether they know it or not.
I almost never sleep.
That's my boy. He loves his friends with everything he has. He respects their abilities but he makes it his job to have their backs no matter what. He's not as powerful but the skills he possesses are indispensable to their success, winning the war and after.
Ugh, and he still loves shopping. He still enjoys drawing, he still cracks his goofy jokes, he still gets excited when he and Toph start scheming.
This comic is a blessing for Sokka fans who may have felt he didn't get his due in the series. It's really great.

Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood: A Review
Title: Love on the Brain
Author: Ali Hazelwood
Genre: RomCom
Rating: 4.8/5 Stars
Release Date: April 23, 2022
Format: E-book
Synopsis:
Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project--a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia--Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward. Sure, Levi is attractive in a tall, dark, and piercing-eyes kind of way. And sure, he caught her in his powerfully corded arms like a romance novel hero when she accidentally damseled in distress on her first day in the lab. But Levi made his feelings toward Bee very clear in grad school--archenemies work best employed in their own galaxies far, far away. Now, her equipment is missing, the staff is ignoring her, and Bee finds her floundering career in somewhat of a pickle. Perhaps it's her occipital cortex playing tricks on her, but Bee could swear she can see Levi softening into an ally, backing her plays, seconding her ideas...devouring her with those eyes. And the possibilities have all her neurons firing. But when it comes time to actually make a move and put her heart on the line, there's only one question that matters: What will Bee Königswasser do?
Review (with potential spoilers):
This is my second Ali Hazelwood book, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Love Hypothesis. It was one of my favorite books from last year and I have re-read it multiple times. I plan to read all the novellas she has released as well. When I read The Love Hypothesis, it was easy to see that it was originally a reylo fanfic, but as a fanfic lover I had not issues with it at all.
This one, I jumped right in. Bee is a lover of science, Marie Curie, and cats and she is chasing after my own heart. I loved this woman and her personality from the very first page. She is brash, unapologetic and holds her hurts close to her chest. She also has a style that I would kill for, differently colored hair, septum piercing and tattoos. Yes, mommy. From the beginning we learn that she was engaged, cheated on, and emotionally abused (though she never puts it in quite those same words). Now, she is married to her work and just received the chance of a lifetime, the ability to collaborate with NASA on a neurosciencey thing that can help astronauts (I’m not a science person, sue me.) Until she discovers that her archnemesis is her co-lead. (We all know where this is going right?) But she pulls on her big girl panties and sets off to Houston to pair up with a man who hates her (does he really?) With her very eccentric assistant, Rocio beside her to inform her of all the morbid curiosities life has to offer. Seriously though, I LOVE Rocio and would gladly die for her. Well her and Kaylee.
From this point Bee runs into issue after issue, her equipment isn’t there, she has nothing she requested, no one is responding to her emails, she can’t even get access to the building. And of course, we know just who did this to her. But do we? This was the turning point for me in the book. Before this point my blood was beginning to boil, I did not see a way that we could like Levi, and I was ready to call him every mean name in the book. But when we witness his conversation with his boss, I started grinning, because I knew that love was going to come on fast.
From this point on the book moves at a pretty great speed. We get some forced proximity, a ton of miscommunication, a decent amount of steam (if that is your cup of tea), and plenty of girlbossing. We also see a side coupling between two women, and it is hilarious and beautiful all at once.
But whoo buddy, I was not prepared for the third act drama.
In the third act we get potential ruined careers, cease and desist orders, disappointing all the people who matter, and tampering with security cameras. And it happens SO QUICKLY. The worst part of it for me, Bee would have remained silent if Levi had not left the flash drive at her house. I truly don’t think she would have mentioned any of it to him, and just dealt with the consequences.
Honestly, this is the only reason I marked off from 5 stars to 4.8. The villain reveal was expected, but them having a gun and waving it around was too much for me. In The Love Hypothesis, we had a despicable villain who was a piece of shit, but he wanted to ruin Olive’s career, not kill her! This felt like far too much of an escalation.
Overall, I loved this book. I read it in one day and would love to re-read it. Ali Hazelwood did not disappoint, and I hope she continues to give us great rom-coms with a side of science.

Let’s talk about Hospital Playlist. (KDRAMA REVIEW)
note: does contain spoilers
When people ask me what is my favorite Korean drama of all time, with no doubt, IT’S HOSPITAL PLAYLIST. This drama has the comic relief, the emotional scenes, realistic characters-just to name a few. No toxic relationships and petty revenge fights. Nothing else will stop me for saying that this is the ultimate feel good drama.
SYNOPSIS: The drama shows insights into the daily lives of doctors and nurses working at Yulje Medical Hospital. It focuses on 5 doctors who have been friends since medical school, who also play together as a band.
This drama encompasses so many elements and characters so bear with me yo this might be real long
Hospital Playlist is produced/written by the Shin-Lee PD and writer pairing, whose previous works were the renowned Reply trilogy and Prison Playbook (which are *chef’s kiss*) I really like that all their dramas really highlight humanism, and puts emphasis on creating a heartwarming and realistic series. There isn’t always a major conflict to be resolved, but instead it showcases how different people-in this case mostly those in the medical field-go on about their daily lives. I also liked their reasoning to produce a medical drama which was that hospitals were where the most dramatic moments occurred, for example during births, deaths or sickness. And since we are still in the Covid-19 pandemic, it ties in greatly to be paying homage to all the medical personnel saving lives. Hence, props to those who were involved in this meaningful masterpiece <3
The drama is not the usual 16 episodes, but has 12 episodes for each season (SEASON 2 IS COMING SOON YAAS) Good thing is I felt that they were still able to weave a dynamic storyline in the first season even with lesser episodes. The writing was just top-notch with the witty humor bits. Additionally, the music is AMAZING. I love the concept of the main characters being a band and playing different songs every episode too.
Okay, now onto the characters. I thought that every character in this drama was well rounded. Starting of with the main five characters, also known as The 99ers, whose distinctive personalities and natural chemistry make all of them extremely likeable. All main characters are professors of different specialties, and I find the male OB-GYN (Seokhyeong) and female neurosurgeon (Songhwa) very refreshing. Also, I like Shin-Lee dramas always have characters that might be realistic yet hardly seen in other dramas or films. For example, Professor Ahn Jeongwon. Despite being a chaebol (inheritor/heir), he isn’t depicted as a spoilt brat or a cold character, instead as a warm Pediatric doctor who uses his wealth to secretly support patients in need. However it makes him stingy to his friends LOL
To be honest, I really thought I was gonna dislike Junwan due to his cold and tsundere nature. I pretty much believed that he was going to be the party pooper type of the bunch, but with the writer being a master of character development, he turned out to be really sincere and hilarious at times. Same for Ikjun, who apart from his enthusiastic and happy go lucky exterior, cares the most about the people around him. Although Seokhyeong seemed detached and introverted, he shows a emotional side to his friends as well as his mother. Songhwa is literally a girlboss though haha she’s smart, capable and gets along with everyone well. And she’s the most sane out of the bunch.
With all the main characters, we have the relationships. Junwan is the first to date seriously with Iksun (the dog or Micky? jkjk) who is Ikjun’s sister. When it first happened I was like not again Jung Kyung Ho (bc he dated his best friend’s sis in prison playbook too LMAO) I think their relationship was realistic and open. It also showed a more sensitive side to Junwan who would do anything for her. I especially liked how he said he didn’t need access to her phone because he trusted her. Yet as all couples do, they have their fair share of ups and downs. Like conflicts on getting married and a long distance relationship as Iksun moves overseas for graduate studies. I don’t really know how to take the ambiguous ending for these two, as Junwan receives the returned box (that has the ring he sent) I really hope nothing bad happens to these two though.
I’m sure we all love Wintergarden couple though, tbh they’re kinda my OTP at the moment 🤣 It was pretty much a ‘will they won’t they’ relationship with a relatively slow build. I think Gyeoul turned out to be one of my favourite characters. Shin Hyun Been did a good job at portraying her as a straightforward but innocent Resident, who is pretty much openly crushing on Jeongwon. The scenes they had together were adorably awkward (and the scene where he gives her chocopies omg) And when Jeongwon battles his inner conflict to become a priest, the final decision where they kiss was beautifully shot, with the actors both showcasing their emotions extremely well.
Then we have Chihong who pursues Songhwa, his professor. Midway through the drama, it is also shown that Ikjun and Songhwa might have had romantic feelings for each other. Songhwa ends up rejecting Chihong’s confession. In my opinion, Chihong was quite a interesting character but I didn’t really like him at the end. (I like the actor though) He did a real jerk move during drinking games, insisting on Ikjun to confess his feelings towards her even though he is already trying not to put Songhwa in an awkward spot. Although his character did end up making a cool exit and when I thought about his incredible story of soldier to doctor, I kinda regret disliking him that much. As for IkSong, In the final episode Ikjun confesses to her one last time, and we are left waiting for Songhwa’s reply. As much as I love this pairing, I don’t think that the ship will sail or maybe not as quickly as we think. I believe Songhwa would meticulously consider the sacrifices to their friendship or other aspects and might not be able to bring herself to it, but I hope it’s otherwise.
Lastly not forgetting Seokhyeong and Minha, another Professor+resident pairing. This one’s a bit ambiguous though, mainly because there hasn’t been much romantic development. To me, the most impactful scene came from Minha who had been irritated by continuous night shifts and was on the verge of a breakdown. She ended up remarkably saving a patient, starting off surgery on her own for the first time. Oh man Minha was such a lovable character, I remember feeling so bad for her but extremely proud of her for her accomplishment. Although Seokhyeong seemed a bit aloof and distant (which was intentional bc he’s an introvert) I think the backstory and all the hardships he faced with his family really made me feel for him. I hate to break it to you, but I’m not so sure if the ship will sail because of the phone call from his ex-wife and Minha’s somewhat rejected confession. But who knows, they might pull off a twist 👀
Apart from all these characters, there are more characters HHAHAH However, I think this is the killing point of ShinLee dramas. Unlike typical dramas which usually focuses on a main character and 2-3 side characters, they like to cast a diverse range of actors (especially those from theatre/musicals and lesser known drama/movie actors) while actually give their characters personality or a reason to be there. I’ve seen many dramas where extras or side characters were kind of irrelevant thus making me feel that they weren’t needed to build the storyline, yet ShinLee dramas hit different y’all. Every role, no matter how small, holds significance to the drama. It really seemed like a collaborative work that shows off every actors skills (and not forgetting staffs) and teamwork.
Anyways because there are way too many characters and too many scenes for me to mention them all, I’ll just talk about some honourable mentions heheh
1. Sunbin and Seokmin confession scene (ahh so cute)
I kinda sensed that they liked each other at the start but I didn’t know Seokmin would ask her out on a date at the end. Even though it’s kinda awkward that they are dating and working with each other though (both are in the same department) but hey the confession was cute and awkward and just warm and fuzzy 🥰
2. MAMA ROSA IS THE QUEENN
I think we all (would) love Mama Rosa because she’s a real one ☝️ (probably the coolest mother ever) She’s feisty, hilarious and kind to others. Plus her friendship with Ju Jong Su was just adorable and super wholesome. The scenes where they were supporting one another through tough times and hanging out with each other when they felt lonely always put a smile on my face. Oh and how Mama Rosa treated Gyeoul was extremely sweet. (as well as Seokhyeong’s mother) Despite her tough exterior, she’s a likeable character for being a strong but caring woman.
3. Just Do Jae Hak
I seriously love this guy so muchhh omg he’s so funny
Do Jae Hak has a funny amd clumsy personality, though it’s clear he’s been through a lot and is strong willed person. From admitting his indecisiveness to counselling Jun Wan on his love issues, there’s literally nothing to hate about him.
4. Uju and his dadd
The father and son chemistry between these two is so good omg. The scenes with these two are so adorable and heartwarming (not to mention hilarious) It’s amazing to see how Ikjun cares so much for Uju despite his hectic workdays while going through infidelity issues with his ex-wife. Uju is matured for his age and shows his love and appreciation for his dad too, making their interaction a great portrayal of a healthy family relationship💞
5. the food stealing the show🥘
Who doesn’t love food and when a show has great food scenes? Some of the best scenes are definitely when the 99s gather to eat. It really showcases each character’s personality with the tiniest details as well as highlight warm delicious meals. Just don’t watch this when you’re hungry at 2am in the morning guys you’ll be drooling all over your screens HAHAHA
Of course there are way more aspects, like Hongdo and Yoonbok, Ikjun and Iksun’s pigeon jokes and raps, or Jeongwon drunk crying in the chicken shop with his brother (who was his coach in Reply 1994 when he played Chilbong LOL)
Most importantly, I think it is the themes and messages that you get from the drama that really create such a lasting impression. Not only does it hit you in the feels with the hardships of hospital patients, or the hardworking doctors+nurses who are working long shifts saving lives, it also tackles topics of friendships through the possibilities of platonic and friends-to-lovers relationships. However I think the biggest lesson for me came from Seokhyeong, who learns to live his life doing what he want, with the people he treasures. Although the drama might seem slow at times (mainly because there isn’t really a main plot line/conflict occurring), but this drama would still bring you on a journey where you would laugh, cry and finish the series, begging for season 2 ✌🏻

IFundWomen's Guide to Cultivating an Inclusive and Engaged Digital Community
How does IFundWomen empower and support women entrepreneurs? Their strength is in their community. IFundWomen, the go-to funding marketplace for women-owned businesses, aims to empower and support women entrepreneurs as they navigate building their businesses. They’ve identified a powerful marketing channel to help these women bring their visions to life: digital community.
Read on for a behind-the-scenes look at how IFundWomen integrates their marketing and community building to foster inclusive digital spaces. You'll hear directly from Shakivla Todd, Marketing Associate at IFundWomen, and you'll learn:
Community tactics to build closer, longer-lasting relationships with your customers
How to learn from your community to inform your marketing strategy
Where Shakivla finds inspiration for creating social media content for a small business audience⠀
How to avoid tone-deaf marketing in uncertain times
This post is part of the #BufferBrandSpotlight, a Buffer social media series that shines a spotlight on the people that are helping build remarkable brands through social media, community building, content creation, and brand storytelling.
This series was born on Instagram stories, which means you can watch the original interview in our Highlights found on our @buffer Instagram profile.
Who are you?
My name is Shakivla Todd and I am the Marketing Associate for IFundWomen. More importantly, I’m a stellar older sister, a dope friend, and a budding plant mom. IFundWomen is the go-to funding marketplace for women-owned businesses and the people who want to support them with capital, coaching, and connections. We offer immediate access to capital through a premium online fundraising experience, access to small business grants from corporate partners, expert business coaching on all the topics entrepreneurs need to know about, and a network of women business owners that sparks confidence, accelerates knowledge, and ignites action.
I manage our digital communities through social media strategy, Slack engagement, and e-mail marketing. I also am a startup coach and I get to coach women entrepreneurs on how to level up their social media game—this is one of my favorite parts of my role!
Where do you find inspiration for IFundWomen’s social media content?
I spend a lot of time scrolling through Instagram to get inspo for social content. I am always stalking Ellevest, R29 Unbothered, Freelancing Females, Girlboss, the list goes on. Additionally, our community is #TeamMemes so pop culture inspires a good amount of my content. I am also looking for the next thing to be memeified! For example, millennials collectively are re-watching the early 2000s sitcom Girlfriends on Netflix. Everyone is talking about it, so I made a meme from a picture of the cast to promote one of our grant programs.
Lastly, I would be lying if I didn’t say that we get inspired by checking out our competitors. It’s a great tactic!
How does managing IFundWomen’s social media account and community look like on a day-to-day basis?
First thing I do in the morning is check all DMs across platforms. I can do this from laying in my bed, so it’s a good slow start to the day and I don’t have to worry about it during the workday. I like to respond to any messages and comments within 24 hours, but if it’s a launch day or something important I check in with Instagram much more frequently.
On an amazing day, I have already scheduled my posts into Buffer. So, I’ll go check on them to make sure everything is still good to go. After that, my day is clear to be creative and strategize for future content. I collaborate with our sales, coaching, and creative teams to ensure that we are consistently marketing our products, services, events, and partnership. I have to make sure everything is reflected in our marketing content calendar.
What advice do you have for brands that are trying to foster a supportive, inclusive online community?
Don’t be tone-deaf. A lot of STUFF is going on in this land of 2020. You can’t ignore it. You have to find some way to address it that aligns with your brand’s mission, values, and voice. That being said, don’t just say something to say something. Be authentic and make it work for you. For example, during the aftermath of George Floyd’s death instead of going silent or posting a black square, our response was amplifying and supporting Black women-owned businesses recognizing that one of the most important actions to combat racial injustice is to redistribute money to Black-owned businesses.
Don’t be tone-deaf. A lot of STUFF is going on in this land of 2020. You can’t ignore it. You have to find some way to address it that aligns with your brand’s mission, values, and voice.
How do you learn from your community to help guide your marketing strategy?
Our community is loud and clear about what they need, want, and love. I like to try out different tactics and just watch to see where our community takes it. If something goes “viral” I continue to create content similar to that. Our followers are also often in our DMs asking for help to get their businesses funded. Their specific questions fuel my marketing strategy.
Our followers are also often in our DMs asking for help to get their businesses funded. Their specific questions fuel my marketing strategy.
For example, IFundWomen partners with companies to build grant programs for businesses. Over the summer, during the application window for one of our grants people were consistently sliding in our DMs asking very specific questions about their grant application. We decided to host a workshop specifically on grant writing. To promote this free workshop I seriously just took a screenshot of the first slide of the presentation that was going to be used for the workshop. The post blew up with nearly 1000 likes and over 400 people registered for the workshop. I think it succeeded because the Instagram post was very simple, straight to the point, and directly addressed a concern our community was having.
What’s your number one tip for engaging with IFundWomen’s community?
Perform like everyone’s best friend on the gram. What does that mean? That means most comments and DMs get very personalized responses. I interact with our followers not only on our posts but on their posts as well if it comes across our feed. I often engage as if our business account is a personal account. It’s a great tactic to beat the algorithm, but also to build community and brand trust.
Perform like everyone’s best friend on the gram.
How do you stay up to date on social media/marketing trends?
I love reading Buffer’s, Later’s, Hootsuite’s blogs, and Social Media Today. A good scroll through TikTok and Twitter is also good for the brain. I think most trends start in those two apps. Shameless plug, I take what I learn all over the internet and put it into a roundup of “trends to keep up with” in my newsletter, Trending with Shak.
What's your favorite IFundWomen partnership to date and why?
The Funding Journey is an IGTV series where we interview successful founders on the long, sometimes complicated, journey to getting their businesses funded. It’s my favorite because:
I get to put on my true producer hat and build something out start to finish.
Most of the founders we interview are from HUGE brands. It means amazing reach for us as a brand plus our community LOVES hearing from brands they love like Black Girl Sunscreen, Lively, and The Helm.

We hope this interview with Shakivla helps you get started with or double down on your social media efforts. You can follow her journey on Instagram here!
Have any questions for Shakivla? Feel free to reply with your questions to the Twitter post below and Shakivla or someone from the Buffer team will get to them as soon as possible.

Had a wonderful time this past weekend in Columbia SC with @joyspeaks2u ! This is what women in collaboration looks like. This has been one of my favorite partnerships. Joy and I came together with an ideas to teach the youth via our Girl Boss Bootcamp. These young ladies left with full business plans, marketing strategies and a business pitch. One of our #Girlboss babies won $500 business grant and 1 yr coaching from me and Joy. This is why I love what I do! Next year we are accepting boys too. Baby it’s (still) cold outside. We are definitely having a late winter here in New England and today it’s rainy. My girls love helping me make outfits for my Instagram feed. This one was a collaboration with my oldest. We paired my favorite warm and cozy J. Crew sweater (I just love the side button detail) with a couple of cold weather accessories. I love a good Pom Pom on a beanie and the color combo on this one is perfect. The gloves can be either gloves or mittens, they’re a cashmere blend (yum!) and I just love the color. These camo rain boots even work in the snow, are so comfy and I just love the clear heel detail. The vintage Louis Vuitton necklace is the perfect final accessory for this lux winter outfit. - J. Crew cable knit, side button sweater (I carry this in a variety of colors) - J. Crew Pom Pom beanie (o carry this in a variety of colors) - J. Crew cashmere blend glittons (glove/mittens) - J. Crew camo rainboots (I also carry these in silver glitter) - Vintage Louis Vuitton lock necklace All of this, plus thousands more are available in my eBay shop, ebay.com/str/wenevergooutofstyle #jcrewstyle , #jcrew , #louisvuitton , #upcycledjewelry , #winteroutfit , #winterfashion , #winterstyle , #sweaterweather , #personalstylist , #personalstyle , #personalshopper , #sashakartoon , #ebayseller , #girlboss , #winteraccessories https://www.instagram.com/p/BvUHmDfDc1h/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v31iaqskfy7c

NETFLIX GIRLBOSS
Three days ago Girlboss happened on Netflix and I did binge watch it all in one day. I had seen the many Instagram posts via the Girlboss Instagram page and had no idea what it was all about. If you happened to have been like me and had no idea that the Girlboss Instapage + Nasty Gal + Girlboss Netflix show, were all related and that the Girlboss Instagram page wasn’t just a page pushing a feminist attitude- well hallelujah you are not alone. It just so happens to be a ‘rough’ copy of Sophia Ammoruso journey in the roots of her company Nasty Girl. There really isn’t much feminism in there but it is full of inspiration of the empowerment in starting your own business, despite all odds and being your own boss. Surround yourself with the right people that want to help you on your journey and BOOM anything is possible, just try not to be too much of a bitch along the way. Oh and some kick ass wardrobe throughout that makes anyone long back to their inner rock chick channelling Juliette Lewis, paired with some sweet tunes rocking it out. Britt Robertson looks sexy as hell in the skin of her attitude, wardrobe and hair .
So now for the real reason behind this post, the team behind it…the make-up and wardrobe department. The GirlBoss essence, It’s sexy, stylish and flawless throughout, Make-up Artist Marianna Elias (Instagram @mariannamakeup1), Shutchai Tym Buacharern (Instagram @makeupbytym) and Christine Choi (Instagram @makeupartistla) did an amazing job. There are no flaws with it, wardrobe, makeup and hair department collaborating together seamlessly, making you wish to own a pair of flared jeans, a bob and some printed tee with whatever funky boots you can get your hands on.
Hot, sexy and powerful attitude in being a women taking charge of her own life being her own boss! With sometimes a destructive freak out…but we can forgive her for that, being your own boss and building a business looks hard!
The simple fresh skinned youthful look and a hairstyle that will make anyone want a fringe again, beautifully styled by hairstylist Sharisse Fine (Instagram @sharissefine) . A carefree underrated style that looks easy non distracting yet full of so much sass.
Photo: Karen Ballard/Netflix
Costume Designer Audrey Fisher (Instagram @audrey.fisher) did a fantastic job in the wardrobe department on Britt Robertson. Audrey sort her inspiration from the most true to life place of all, Sophia Ammoruso very own wardrobe. All items seen in Girlboss are influenced by Sophia. Many of the items seen in the program were Vintage themselves, along with ones made especially for Britt. My favorite and most likely for many others, are those Red flared jeans and that beautiful metallic pink and blue silver butterfly jacket both seen in the first episode, that original 1970s East/West calfskin motorcycle jacket. Most women could relate to the power felt when you put something on and you have all the confidence in the world whilst wearing it!
Photo: Karen Ballard/Netflix
Over-all the program is a great watch, the soundtrack, to the fashion throwbacks and to the make-up and hair that are beautiful on the eye. Strong individual style with a character that’s fun to watch and in many ways a girl will find a way to relate. There is a tone of empowerment and determination to dream, work hard and simply be your own boss of your life, Even when your the least expected to achieve.
Girl BOSS it whilst wearing some kick ass flares flooding with confidence! You’ve got this!

Photo: Jaclyn Bethany as Ava and Patrick Walshe McBride as William in “Between Departures” . @indigovalleyfilm: What’s a defining moment in your life? I was very sick several years ago, I have a rare blood disease which caused me to suffer from bilateral pulmonary embolisms (blood clots) in my lungs. I almost died. It was really scary. But what that experience really taught me was that you only have one life. You have to go for your dreams. I remember I didn't want to sleep the first night I was in the ICU, because I was scared I would not wake up. People were dying all around me. I was twenty four years old. I kept the television on and Contact with Jodie Foster came on. I hadn't seen that movie in years. But seeing that film and realizing that there is some kind of life beyond what we know, which at the time I was bracing myself for, really awakened the power of the visual language of film within me. I remember also hoping to survive so I could see the new Woody Allen movie Blue Jasmine because it was just about to come out, and she is my favorite actress of all time. So I spent the next year recovering, and over that year I met some great friends and collaborators, which led me to make Olivia Martha Ilse. I love collaborating with @bathing_belles <3 Artists coming together in strange places like the Detroit International Airport during a layover and turning that down time waiting into something beautiful, that’s a special day. I posted the other day a photo from the collab, well here is the video that goes with it. It’s from a new song they are working on. Sometimes I contribute to their lyric-writing process, but this time, they told me the lyrics and a lovely wave came over me realizing they had absorbed some of my writing style and adopted it into their own. What a warm feeling to know that the things you communicate to others are sinking in. I can not wait to hear the whole song. Seriously, go follow @bathing_belles if your like soulful folktronica (pretty much my favorite kind of music). _____ 🎥: 1/2 of @bathing_belles 👸🏽👸🏽: @skinonsundays + 1/2 of @bathing_belles _____ #skinonsundays #physiopoetry #airportlife #girlbosses #poetryinmotion #humancanvas #wordporn #spilledink #instapoet #creativityalways #writerslife #poetslife #bodyartist #poetrycommunity #poemsporn #hippieart #instawriter #detroit #micropoetry #inspiration #girlgaze #collab #lyrics #poetrygram #lyric #folktronica #girlband #musicforthesoul #neosoul (at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW))
