You have to understand that the reason why Nine is my favorite doctor is not because he is grizzled or edgy or a bad boy- it is because he is, fundamentally, kind. He is full of hope and optimism and compassion and he tries to convince himself that he is wrong to do so because the world tries to convince him otherwise (Jabe's death, Dalek, Adam, the Time War, the Slitheen, etc.) And yet at every opportunity he is given he is in awe of the majesty of the universe and the wonder of human kindness and Rose is important because she reinforces this over and over, her ferocious humanity, her relentless empathy, her flirty teasing, her incredible warmth, the fact that she reaches out to a Dalek with kindness.

And it's not just Rose, either- there is Jack and Cathica and Jabe and Lynda with a Y and Harriet Jones and even Mickey and Jackie, they are all so incredible, so flawed and complicated and wonderful and Fantastic.

I love Nine because he is hopeful and kind and a coward, not a killer, any day. I love Nine because of the absolute sheer, healing joy we see as he gets to shout "Just this once, Rose. Just this once. Everybody lives!"

I love Nine because, at his core, he is the Doctor. He is a healer. He is angry and traumatized and carrying the weight of the universe but most of all, his heart, damaged and broken and so full of love for the universe and humanity and one girl in particular that he welcomed the time vortex into himself without a single regret. He regenerated not with tragedy or regret, but with pride and optimism.

I love Nine because "You were fantastic, Rose. And you know what? So was I."

Hi! I found your web novel through zarinthel's rec on SV and it's been really great so far! I've started and not finished a lot of webnovels but I'm hoping yours will be the one to break that streak lol (no pressure! I'm just horrible at sticking to very long stories).

Out of curiosity do you have any horror/mystery webnovel recs? I think what makes me drop wns is the massive cast and like huge amount of fluff/found family stuff (the latter especially is why I couldn't get through trash of the counts family and orv tbh) but I figure the horror genre would be pretty good at limiting those things. I think I just really prefer tragedies lmao

hey thanks for checking out my story! i'm glad you like it so far, and no pressure to stick with it either -- webnovels aren't for everyone. they're kind of like the "tv shows" of literature: designed for short periods of consumption over long periods of time, at varying levels of quality. if that's not your preferred form of reading, nothing wrong with that. :p

your question made me realize that despite the amount of horror webnovels i read, i actually don't have that many recs... maybe because there aren't many that stand out as outstandingly recommendation worthy. i think the webnovel sphere also has a habit of tending towards wish fulfillment, so the horror is usually mixed in with other genres too, like romance, kingdom building, or "im secretly a god and don't need to worry about anything."

that said, here are some you can try out! if you find one you like, you can branch out from there and see what other similar works there are.

"ghost story, gotta work": your average korean salaryman and cowardly horror fan gets transmigrated into an scp type world, working as an employee whose job is to clear ghost stories. current fave. due to the translator's request, i am not sharing a direct name or link, but you should be able to find this webnovel by googling the keywords provided or maybe by visiting @necronatural's blog

deep sea embers. my mvp of horror novels. a man transmigrates into a post-apocalyptic steampunk world barely clinging to survival under the pressures of various lovecraftian horrors. mixes scp elements with somehow cohesive worldbuilding. that said, it's long and has a large cast. complete at ~800 chapters.

evil as humans: the main character, an evil spirit from ancient times, escapes his seal and disguises himself as an ordinary human in modern times. he joins an organization dedicated to monitoring, fighting, and sealing entities like himself. however, his desire to enjoy an ordinary human life is doomed by the greater forces moving in the world... complete and short for a webnovel (equivalent of a 2-3 book series). note: it is also BL

little mushroom: in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is pushed to the brink of extinction by a world full of mutating living beings, a mushroom absorbs the blood of a human, learns its genetic code, and takes the form of a human. in order to find the "spore" that it lost, it decides to venture into a human base -- but it will need to dodge the eyes of the base's militant protectors first. very short for a webnovel, 80ish chapters, horror / slice of life / tragedy. note: it is also a BL

plague doctor: a med school student acquires a mysterious system at the same time that various supernatural plagues and disasters begin to befall the human world. it's been a few years since i caught up and i didn't finish it, but i remember enjoying this one a lot

my house of horrors: a young man inherits a haunted house from his parents and discovers that there is much more to the haunted house, and his own life, than he knew... long with large cast, but complete. you can think of it as a book series with 5-6 books.

seol object story: essentially an scp foundation universe. a human is reborn as an scp and observes the daily lives of humans trying to protect the world from other scps. it's half wish fulfillment, so it has a lot of "misunderstanding" comedy / slice of life as well.

outside of time: many years ago, the shattered face of "god" appeared in the sky, and disaster befell humanity. a young boy who has survived the gaze of god two times embarks on a journey to become strong enough to control his own fate. if you like cultivation stories, this one combines cultivation with a cosmic/lovecraftian genre. warning: Long

i think the uncrowned king of horror webnovels is lord of the mysteries, which has interesting and intricate worldbuilding and a lot of cool concepts. that said it's very long and the writing stye is dry as hell so i don't recommend it for people who can't get through that.

Jason Todd's timeline and "Age"

So, there's a lot of discussion of Jason Todd's age esp as relative to other sidekick vigilantes, particularly Tim and Mia. I believe the exact words are usually something about a "grown ass man beating up/trying to kill teenagers."

DISCLAIMER: This particular post is specifically regarding the "grown ass man vs teenagers" statement, I have posts regarding the "tried to kill them" portion and other stuff like "seriously Jason Todd is like being shot by a marshmallow gun compared to what goes on directly before and after him in these incidents, also you don't bitch about the right stuff, also a lot of you prop up characters who are Objectively Worse, and no that's not hate on your fave it's just me calling out hypocrisy". It just takes time to find digital copies of the panels I'm using. NOTE I AM NOT JUSTIFYING HIS ACTIONS. I'm just saying y'all blow it out of proportion for petty character hate. Like, shit, they're superheroes. Jason's soooo fuckin' tame. He's not even framed as a big deal to the teens it's only the adults that think it's that much of a problem.

Now, to start off, we all know Jason died at 15 & a few months off from 16 (if you want me to dig up panels, sure, but I figured at this point that wasn't in question). Tim at this point is somewhere between 12-13, and we have this panel in Lonely Place of Dying which takes place a few months later:

So that's a ballpark of 2-3 years between Jason and Tim.

But Tim's age is really fucky and they keep de-aging him tbh. We can extrapolate that his confrontation with Jason was between the ages of 16-17 bcs it's after the arc where he has his incredibly shitty 16th birthday in Robin Vol2 #116 and before Red Robin where he's stated to be 17. This would put Jason between 18-19 at the time. (If you really want me to find panel sources for Tim's birthday and his age in RR then, sure, but I don't think they're necessary. I used it more as a guidepost for Jason's age, since we have a clear idea of what the age gap is.)

At least, on paper.

Mia for her part I've had a hard time finding like, on panel mentions of her age and if anyone can direct me to it being explicitly stated I'd love that. I'm rereading old comics but it's a LOT of comics to hunt down & dig through. To my understanding she was fifteen when Ollie first met her, and there's at Minimum of about a year and a half between that to her meeting Red Hood, more likely at least two? because there's at least few months between that and her joining the Titans, the Doctor Light stuff, then One Year Later, and then returned to Star some 3 months after Ollie came back to run for mayor? And then Jason not too long after. So, two years feels safe. Puts her at 17-ish, Jason at 19-20

Once again, I specify: on paper.

People would happily point out at this point that the upward stretch of a 4 year age gap is a "huge gap in maturity." And yeah, under normal circumstances, I'd agree.

But, and this is going to get contradictory bcs I found Two different timelines (BOTH written by Winick, lmao), and depending on how you read it it could be up to three different possibilities. Let's Start with Batman Annual #25: Daedalus & Icarus.

Timestamp before Jason's resurrection, which is pretty well known at this point:

Next, him waking up from a coma afterwards, when he escapes the hospital:

Now the above could be interpreted as either 1 year after he died if we're assuming that it's using the same "start" point to count as the resurrection (unlikely), or one year after he came back (more likely).

Next, the timestamp right before a guy recognizes him and sells him out:

And, finally, the timestamp before being put in the Pit:

That is, count it up, between 3-3 1/2 years where Jason was dead, in a coma, or otherwise not particularly... cognizant of the world around him. His ass is NOT developing emotionally, socially, or mentally like this, which pretty handily bridges the gaps there. Taken at face value, Jason's maturity level is going to be, unironically, younger than Tim's in the wake of these setbacks.

Now, if we go to Lost Days issue 1, it doesn't specify how long he was dead, nor how long he was in a coma, so we'll just carry those two over, what we DO have is this from just after Talia brought him home:

This puts him as being on the streets for five months, so we're at just shy of two years so far. And then we have this:

Which is right before Talia puts him in the Pit.

So, in summary: 6 months dead, 1 year coma, 5 months on the street, and something like 1-1 1/2 years with the League which...

Actually puts us on almost the exact same timeframe either way. 3 to 3 1/2 years. It just changes whether Jason was on the streets or with the League for longer.

And is utterly incomprehensible because comic timelines are a freaking nightmare.

If we're being generous, then that would put Jason at a minimum of 19, maybe toeing the line of 20 for UTRH, again, on paper, because like hell are you convincing me he did less than a year's worth of training abroad throughout Lost Days. Yeah maybe they trained him in fighting while he was catatonic, muscle memory and all that. But the other teachers that we KNOW of? The bombs, guns, probably something to get him up to date on handling all that tech we see him using, Egon, potentially arguably All-Caste if you want to draw from n52...

but you'd have to knock at least a year and a half off of his internal/personal development from death & coma, at minimum. Maybe you could argue he was somewhat developing while in his "the lights are on, but nobody's home" phase, you can't say it's at the same level as a normal person might when going about their day to day life, and it's difficult to measure. But he's not hitting the kind of milestones that he should be for his age. I wouldn't put him at anything less than two years behind. So if we use our upper estimates on Jason, and lower estimates on both the developmental setbacks and Tim/Mia's ages that gives us:

Jason toeing 20, mentally 18, fighting Tim at 16. 2 year gap, kind of stretching the physical age gap if we assume Tim had just barely turned 13 when he showed up to be Robin. - OR LESS

Jason maybe 21, mentally 19, fighting Mia at 17, two year age gap again. Honestly, still not that big of a difference - OR LESS

And, to be frank, that's not even counting the mental development issues that come from the intense physical trauma from dying - and I swear to fuck don't give me the "He's not the only one who died he's not special" speech.

HOW MANY OF THE OTHERS YOU'RE USING AS A GOTCHA LOST, *GESTURING AGGRESSIVELY ABOVE*, LITERALLY MULTIPLE YEARS OF THEIR LIFE.

Not counting adults, of course. Barry lost years, Hal lost years, Ollie I think also lost a couple years? but A) they came back still adults, bodies pretty much the same. B) While Jason's body didn't go through a magic growth spurt in canon, it did still grow esp while with the League.

I'll eventually get around to Titan's Tower & GA#72 (tbh, there are other people who've already done Titan's Tower and it'd probably be better than what I do, so I'm more going to focus on the latter, but there IS a specific part of the former that drives me nuts that I don't see brought up a lot), and maybe if we're feeling spicy all my issues with UTRH starting with how Winick is just as guilty of retroactively writing Jason as being inherently a bad penny since his Robin days as any of the other "modern" writers. Like, bud, Severe enough Head Trauma is legitimately enough to change someone's personality, not to mention trauma. It wouldn't hurt your narrative for that eerie difference, the Shade of What Once Was if you're really going for RH being Like that.

Okay, so my convo at Megacon with Gareth, Naoko and Kai so I can never forget it.

Okay so first of all, they all decided to troll the panel runner by coming on in the wrong order to how he announced them. Gareth seemed to be the lead-troller. The guy went “give a round of applause for Kai Owen!” And Gareth came leisurely walking on, hands in pockets. So the other two followed suit. When Naoko flopped down, she sorted out her bag and there was a muffin in it, so she asked us “does anyone want a muffin?” and she literally yeeted it (badly yeeted it) to this guy to have.

The cast’s whole dynamic seems to be “let’s bully Naoko for being lovably silly.” She’s chatty too. Like all I could think about is how she’s the complete opposite to Tosh whereas Kai is more Rhys than Rhys and Gareth is an even funnier Ianto (also, somehow, even more fucking gorgeous in real life his whole face seems to GLOW).

When it came to my convo, I asked “is it okay if I ask two questions?” because there was loads of people behind me queuing. Kai went “NO!” Naoko laughed. Gareth said: “Only if both questions are directed to Naoko.” This was a running joke since the beginning of the con because Naoko for some reason couldn’t understand any questions that day. Her excuse throughout the con was “English is my second language” – btw at some point, Gareth said “you have a lot to say for your second language.” He was hilariously savage.

Anyways, my two questions were: “what is your favourite Big Finsih audios you’ve done? And, if you could have one Doctor Who monster that could’ve been in Torchwood, which one would you pick?” Naoko didn’t quite get the questions (again). Kai went “bloody hell she only asked it two seconds ago!” Everyone laughed. Gareth tried to explain it to her, but he got it the other way around himself and said “which Torchwood alien would you like to be in Doctor who?” I explained the question again and Gareth went “oh sorry I got it the wrong way around”.

Naoko answered that she liked the Dinner and a Show audio and she loved the adipose because she thinks they’re really cute. Kai’s first audio mention I can’t remember… in the moment, you sort of find it hard to take in everything they say because you’re so overwhelmed and excited. It’s killing me, but he said he loved Rhys and Ianto’s Excellent Barbecue as well. He agreed that he liked the adipose but also the daleks and the weeping angels. Gareth’s fave audios I can’t remember either, but my friend thinks he said Fall to Earth because he mentioned a ship falling out of the sky. He also spoke about earlier, in answer to another person’s question, how cool Absent Friends was with DT (alas, as we know, never to be released). He immediately agreed with Kai about weeping angels. He said that he’s kinda been with the daleks in Doctor Who, but the Master would’ve also been amazing. I immediately jumped in and asked my third question: “which one?” He said John Simm. I nodded in agreement because all Masters/Missy are incredible choices.

During Kai’s talk he looked straight at me, smiling so wide, teeth showing, and lovely. And when they all thanked me for the questions, he said: “you look great by the way.” I was in a gender-bend Jack costume.

Along with Gareth shaking everyone’s hands during the Photo op, asking our names and then saying “nice to meet you [insert name]” with the sweetest smile… highlight of my day.

This will be my last post about this. I’m honestly not trying to argue with you, but I offer a different perspective. I admit my use of the word token was wrong. However, my message is the same. You were the one using Ncuti’s nomination as an example of no racism. I’m simply saying no, it’s not.

To begin with, Ncuti should not have been brought into the discussion. His nomination should have no bearing on Jacob being nominated. It allows the nomination committee to do exactly what you did. See, there’s no racism. We nominated a Black person. Why are you cheering because one Black performer was nominated in a category or because Black performers were nominated at all? That is invalidating. If more than one Black actor in a category deserves to be nominated, do it. You can objectively say they both didn’t deserve it, but don’t use one as an example of anti-racism. That is what makes it tokenism.

Maybe I should have made clear that I see the whole list as nominations, and maybe you should have made clear in the first ask that you only meant the first category. Award shows have limited lists. For Critic's Choice it seems to be six slots.

They - not me! - nominated the ones they thought deserved it. You obviously see that differently, and so do I (!).

And can I just say, I have seen all except "The Diplomat", and while "The Old Man" was... interesting, and while I love Jeff Bridges - I would have given his slot to Jacob. Like, immediately.

But all the shows and actors on that list did incredible performances.

I would not want to be the one to choose.

You say I used "one as an example for anti-racism" - that isn't true either. I commented on the things I have seen on here, on twitter, on IG of people yelling at AMC that Jacob, Assad and Delainey are not nominated - but "the white man is" (their words, not mine) - on an ask that was commenting on the same. I'm sure you've seen posts on this. That is what I meant by "screaming". The rest... came when you came in upset about another's ask. Again, which I can understand. And I get the bitterness about the missing nomination, too. But please don't try to shift the blame on this to me, or try to put words into my mouth.

those who know me know two things about me:

- i am very normal about my favorite characters

- i have weird health issues that went undiagnosed during my childhood and teen years due to what's essentially neglect

i can't walk for long periods of time, and it's gotten harder recently, i have stomach issues, difficulty breathing, joint pain, i got the whole pack! and no diagnosis other than really bad allergies.

and i've TRIED to get my family to get me to a doctor, a good one, and get me tests and whatnot, but now i am 18 and can earn my own money so i am doing just that. i fear i can't even buy shit that makes me happy now because i am busy trying to take care of my rabbit and myself, both very expensive. i am officially stopping my mental health treatment so i can save up for some tests i have to get (a tomography and blood tests, and if i can get a hold of a cardiologist i might have to get more)

and that's not counting the possibility of treatment. which i might not be able to afford anyway but we'll see! i wanna work a formal job eventually, one that gives me constant income, because commissions are unreliable no matter how HARD i work, trust me. it's never enough. lmao.

it sucks that i have to worry about this at the ripe age of 18 when i should be at the club but whatever if i have to draw until my hands fall off then so be it because i am tired of being stuck at home with barely any energy to even enjoy myself 💀 like even if i went out to have fun it'd be annoying as fuck because i'd be in pain shortly after, so why even bother lmao

“This isn’t what you think it is.” I directed towards the two doctors, I then turned to face the woman who stood ashamed. “I’m right, aren’t I?”

I was flicking through my files at the nurses station when I felt a pair of strong arms embrace me from behind. James had his head buried in my neck and gave the skin a quick kiss. We were never ones for extreme PDA in the office, so the exchange lasted less than a second before he was around at my side to properly converse with me.

“You on House’s stroke case now? I saw you in the room.” James inquired.

“No, just had to offer some specialist assistance.” I sing songed back.

“And what specialist assistance would that be, my darling?” He indulged in my evasive responses. Leaning in close so our lips were ever so close.

“It merely involved one of the patients…specific hobbies.” I pretended to think hard about my word choice. I winked at him on the last word.

He took my full meaning and struggled to hide his grin at the beautiful and exciting girl he’d managed to get.

There was a tap on my shoulder and I whipped around and was met with Chase.

“Dr Y/l/n, may I speak with you for a moment.” He seemed cocky and looked between James and I. I decided to coddle his intentions and agreed. He directed me a few feet a way. James watched my retreating form and kept an eye on the conversation, not liking the look in Chase’s eye.

“I just wanted to say, y/n, that I have also from time to time indulged in the pleasurable acts you described to House.” He flirtingly stated, his voice a low whisper. He placed his hand on the wall next to us and used it as leverage to lean in.

I love the Agatha Christie question!

Who are your HP/Twilight faves in the Christie universe? (Who’s the opportunist who knows too much and dies for it? Who’s the conman killer who courts the girl to avoid suspicion? Who’s just trying to take a holiday and gets caught-up in a murder? Who are the dynamic mystery-solving duo who realize they are in love by the end of the novel? etc.).

I mean, that is kind of what The Man Who Would Be King (and secret fic) (both cowritten with @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin) have already become. We have our murder victim, Alphard, a very rich man with a colorful family, and possibly his sister, we have our unlikely detectives in Voldemort, Lily Potter, and Alphard himself. It may not be the center of the story but it's a large part of it.

In other words my answer for Harry Potter would somehow spoil all my present and future fics so I won't.

As for the Twilight version...

Scotland Yard is soon brought in, and using Chief Swan's connections with the family they get a better picture of Dr. Cullen's life.

His family wasn't looking to inherit him anytime soon, as he was immortal. None of them were having money troubles however, all were independently wealthy.

He had made enemies of a thousand-year-old clan of powerful vampires, who on hearing that his murder is being investigated like this get very upset. Supposedly the victim lived with them in his youth (and inspector Craddock cries when he learns the timeline for this murder goes back to the 1600s. Are they going to have to bring historians in on this murder??), he might have known something

Oh what's that? The victim had a whole network of friends across the globe, who are all killers, and he knew everyone's secrets? ... do we have the budget to investigate this?

The victim was also living next to a tribe of magical shapeshifting wolves evolved specifically to kill his kind. They liked him best and had a line in their treaty that "he dies last". Not sure what to do with this information

Rosalie Hale missing person case from 1933 solved: Carlisle Cullen adopted her. Was she recognised, did someone piece it together, and was Carlisle killed in retribution?

The victim lived a fake life of fake papers. Could be important, except it's the most normal thing about this case.

The police wonder how this man didn't get murdered sooner, and are stretched so thin the investigation is going slowly.

So, Renesmee gets to be our plucky detective du jour, as she decides to see if she can help. Surely there is no harm in her poking around, and she's well liked around the vampire world so there might be answers she can get that human police can't, partly because policemen keep getting eaten.

She slowly narrows it down to the horrible realization that it was someone in the family, and she learns terrible things.

Jasper Hale wasn't Jasper Hale at all! He was a friend of Jasper's in the newborn army who wanted a new life, and who in the wake of Jasper's suden and unexpected death assumed his identity. He had Peter bite his entire face so he'd be scarred like Jasper had been, and vouch for this blond vampire most definitely being Jasper Hale. Peter later had to die because he Knew Too Much, and so did Charlotte, regrettably. Fake Jasper did however not kill Carlisle.

Edward seems a prime suspect, he is an angry and resentful young man who acts out. Everyone thinks he did it, and that Bella should certainly marry Jacob, the safer option. Much upheaval is had, however, once Renesmee is able to clear Edward's name and he meaningfully links arms with Bella. They sail off into the sunset with their inheritance.

Rosalie is a beautiful, cold, intimidating woman, the femme fatale sort who's surely conniving. It's a bit of a mystery why she married that poor fool Emmett, but it's clear to all she doesn't love him. No clear motive from her, other than the money she would inherit, but she's just so suspicious. Her alibi is ambiguous, she claims she was with Esme and Emmett but what if Esme and Emmett are lying to protect their daughter and wife? Superintendent Battle wonders about that.

Renesmee is at a loss.

And then she realizes that it's not Rosalie who acts like she doesn't love Emmett, it's Emmett who acts like he doesn't love her! And Esme's grieving widow act is just that, it's an act!

Renesmee realizes that Emmett and Esme are lovers, and killed Carlisle together. Esme committed it while Emmett tricked Rosalie into giving her an alibi. Renesmee realizes this once she has a "But Rosalie couldn't have seen Esme from that angle!" moment.

The plan was too pin Rosalie for the murder, see her hanged, and then in due time the mourning widowers would marry, happily entitled to all the money they couldn't have touched if they'd divorced. Also Rosalie was Catholic so she wouldn't have agreed to a divorce.

The two lovers are confronted, and Esme pulls out a tiny pearl-studded gun from her shoe, says "We tried, my love. I regret nothing" before shooting first Emmett, then herself.

So my first favorite pairing are Miss Brat and Professor Dickhead from Take me Home Tonight, hands down!!! They are so perfect together, Satoru is just sweet and devoted and they're both SO smart and funny. That story is probably my favorite when it comes to lighthearted fare I've written. The MC and Gojo both have a past and obstacles but they from day one are a team. Mc in that is such a baddie and she really holds her own. Their competitive dynamic is so fun. My lawyer coupleee 🥹

My next favorite are the Duke and Duchess from Silent Serenades!!! Oh gosh Duchess IS my fave MC, just Duke Gojo isnt lol. they are so complex and interesting. And they're far from perfect, take their trauma out on each other lol, act before thinking, and they overall feel the most REAL. Arranged marriages sucked and they are trying to build something true and opening their hearts, growing and changing. Forgiving each other. The Duchess with her emotional, messy nature and troubled upbringing is very much based on me in many ways (yeppp been through it) so it's also the MC the most like me. So I'm attached 🥺

The third is Fractured Desires yandere Gojo and Barbie' reader. He is a yandere sure but he is so interesting, he is devoted clearly lol but mostly their SEX scenes my LORD. I've maybe never written better smut. 🥵🥵🥵 Her willingness to be submissive and just not caring he's yandere bc she loves him is fkn amazing, and she's alwo so girly and fun vs his VERY serious nature. They also feel so real even if he's over the top.

Fourth is CEO Gojo and Assistant reader from Time after Time!! Though a cheesy rom com I wrote, they both have strong personalities and god their love!!! Esp in their wedding scene 😭😭😭 Writing that scene and their love confession still feels like the best one I've written. He's an ass and she kinda mean lol but I liked their banter so much, that was my first story and it as just learning gojo! But oof love their overall chemistry.

My only other long story is Doctor Gojo and intern reader from Healing Hearts! I really love him and her so far but they're so new I can't really rank em any higher yet! Doctor Gojo is so smart and he's a whole ass hoe lol but sweet. Intern reader seems also so smart and caring! I think they'll grow on us as I go 🫶🏻

John Stewart -

the DCAU was basically my big introduction to DC as a whole, so I love him with Shayera, even though I know that's not really accurate to comics canon (as much as DC seems to pretend it is, which is lowkey giving "peaked in high school" vibes tbh).

Other than Shayera, I do like John with both Guy and Hal. There's decent canon evidence for both: when John thinks of who he can trust implicitly, he thinks of Guy, but when he picks Hal for a GL mission, Guy grumbles about "the brass" always picking favorites. I think John balances both of them out well in different ways. I think guyjohn and johnhal might be tied for me. Guyjohn would probably usually take the edge for me, but I just recently talked to an oomfie about this johnhal moment in a fic and.....well.

I'm waiting with bated breath to see Katma in my read of Green Lantern: Silver Age. I've heard so much about her. Possibly when I meet her, John/Katma will shoot up to the top of my fave John ships.

Guy Gardner -

I've read a decent chunk of JLI just so I could see some Guytora. I didn't even get far enough to see some real Guytora tbh, I'll have to return to JLI some day. So while i LOVE seeing guytora fanart and stuff, I don't actually know this ship that well

Other than guytora, I like Guy with any of the other Four Corpsmen tbh, he has great chemistry with all three. Guy and Hal have very interesting parallels, though I think their personalities are very aggressive and would clash long-term; Guy and Kyle seem very sweet; and Guy and John are complementary in kind of a red oni, blue oni way. Out of these three, I think guyjohn takes my fave for Guy.

Kyle Rayner -

I still haven't read Kyle's run of GL tbh (SORRY KYLE but I'm trying to get thru all of GL: Silver Age and moving forward with that)

which means that the only prominent ship I have seen with Kyle is Kyle and Soranik Natu, and I have to be honest...I actually think they work really well together. I think they're complementary in that Kyle gets Soranik to open up and Soranik help balances Kyle. Plus, the artist x doctor thing? IDK!! it works! (until it doesn't, but u get my point)

Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz - I haven't read their run either SORRY GUYS. But as far as I have seen of these two, I see them as best friends.

Jo Mullein - currently, Syzn of the Cliffs no question (the other guy is a bit of an ass, even if he is a more loveable one by the end of Far Sector). Would absolutely be open-minded to new Jo ships, however, now that she's been outside the City Enduring and with the main GLs for a while. Would love to see her get with more alien gals.

Alan Scott - I read Alan Scott: The Green Lantern (2023) as my big introduction to the character, and I do know now that Vladimir Sokov didn't really exist before that and that it was kind of a huge retcon when they could've used Jimmy... but yeah I have to say Alan and Vladimir is my favorite Alan ship. Alan and Jay Garrick interest me, but I haven't seen them together as much as I have seen Vladimir and Alan and....well. it's doomed yaoi. they knew what they were doing.

Kilowog - Hal no diff, not just because I actually really like Halowog but also because I don't really know if Kilowog has had any fleshed-out love interests? He's had his mate who afaik is unnamed, and he had that alien lady from GLTAS... but I also do really like Hal and Kilowog together. I used to be so-so about it, but I've basically done a 180 (especially after the whole Constructowog business omg). And as i've said before, I think my favorite dynamic is Hal x [stabilizing presence].

Soranik Natu -

my fave Soranik ship is a tie between Soranik/Kyle and Soranik/Iolande.

Soranik/Kyle has had more canon interactions, and they do complement each other out well, like I said earlier! HOWEVER! while I did say that Kyle got Soranik to open up, honestly Soranik chose that by herself, Kyle just made a safe space for her to do so. someone else could fulfill that role for her. And while I did say that Soranik let Kyle process his grief, what I was really thinking about was the moment where she suggests that he make a mural of all the deceased GLs.

Soranik/Iolande has a lot of potential!!!! I have talked to a moot about this recently, but they have UNTAPPED levels of tension and conflict. Like, Soranik chose Iolande to be her sector partner, but Iolande is a PRINCESS, and this has mostly manifested in the text as just "oh haha it's funny that she has to balance the bureaucracy of being a ruler with the resposibilities with being a GL, she's so busy all the time xD" when it is so odd and seems to go completely ignored that Soranik comes from a planet where their previous GL was the ruler (albeit a despot, which Soranik and Iolande both hate on principle), and that GL was depised SO MUCH that both Katma and Soranik had to deal with the lingering hatred so many years later. so WHY would soranik choose someone who she knew was going to inherit the throne and all the political power that entails as her fellow GL???

I think it could be a really interesting contrast between Iolande and Soranik if Iolande was super political and kind of an activist (she is canonically very interested in the socio-political aspects of the GL's role) whereas Soranik specifically tries to stay apolitical because she fears gaining any political power and meddling in politics or, God forbid, becoming a Sinestro-like figure, because of her planet's history

THEY COULD HAVE SO MANY PARALLELS TO SINHAL!!! OUGHHH SINHAL COULD HAUNT THE SORALANDE NARRATIVE!!!! u would think that obviously Sinestro = Soranik and Iolande = Hal in this parallel because of their respective color rings (at least, once Soranik is kidnapped by Sinestro and forced to be a Yellow Lantern), but I also think that this parallel could be way more complex than that. Iolande being the monarch of her planet might actually make Sinestro see more of himself in her than in Soranik. Also, Sinestro+Iolande and Hal+Soranik have more similarities in terms of personalities. IT COULD BE COMPLEX AND AND LAYERED AND IT COULD BE SO SO INTERESTING

Although honestly I do think their dynamic is better in canon if sinhal isn't ever actually a thing because I think the romance might distract from how tragic their relationship is.

9) Roberts!Master

He just doesn't compel me on a fun level, on the idea he's complex nor does he feel menacing. His main story just doesn't give him enough to work with. The lack of getting to really act makes it so hard to feel for him. And I haven't listened to his EU stuff yet so I don't have good wider vibes yet. But I just don’t get a lot to vibe with. Also why the slug, just why slug?

8) Decayed!Master

Love the theory but kind of boring in practice. Just didn't get super fun vibes from him, maybe just too restricted by the virtue of how his whole story is done.

7) Child Master

Only there for a short amount of time but like damn do I love this sinister little kid. Terrifying in the best way. The right kind of creepy. Very top Master in the way he messes up his own timeline. Yes we don’t get much to read here but i just feel so much more for this character over Roberts and The Decayed.

6) Simm!Master

Okay don't hate me, but I just don't think he's that good okay? Like not John Simm he can fuck it up but like i don’t think it’s written that well. He just makes me uncomfortable in a way that's not that fun to watch. I love very specific scenes but not enough of the time. Like I love the way he plays off ten in very specific scenes but so often he's being just so ~wacky/crazy~ it's no longer any fun. Yes the master is strange and extra but they aren’t like this out of control!! And the drums make his villainy less interesting. I hate this. The rest of The Masters get to be evil without this strange head screwy reason done by the big old time lords. But whatever, okay. And also why does he eat people? Why did we do that? And why does he have laser beam hands? Like I prefer when The Master’s villainy is more in doing things, not just being weird. So many questions!

5) Jacobi!Master [including EU]

I love him for being legitimately scary. Like maybe I've seen Simm take over planets but this guy would kill me while staring into my eyes with a truly coldly terrifying expression and I'd say thank you. Love that for us. He throws people out of TARDISES!! I mean even in his moment in the show the way he kills Chantho? Love it. Peak actually threatening Master.

4) Ainley!Master

Part of my rating this guy higher is just how long this Master lasted. Like Ainley, my king being The Master for so many Doctors. Also though a very versatile Master. In more kinds of TV stories than many Masters. Got a Doctor kill in there too good for him. Good at being over the top, has a good enough report with The Doctor to make watching them face off enjoyable. And him getting this way by stealing a body is downright awful and shows a deep cruelty in The Master I do quite enjoy. The Rani making fun of him for being obsessed with The Doctor? Love it. Being punched by The Brig? Awesome. He’s delightfully evil if not scary in the slightest after the whole body snatching. Also he becomes a cat person? The image is quite funny.

3) Dhawan!Master

Handles over the top erratic behavior in a better way then Simm. Because he doesn't EAT people. The dancing and convoluted plans work well. I don't like that he wears a Nazi uniform that feels out of character for the Master, they are way too regimented and a banal kind of evil filled with human hate and bile and vileness when The Master tends to find more enjoyment in bombast and intrigue of larger than life villains. But overall Dhawan just puts in so much life into the character it makes him often the best thing in a scene. Making the monologuing and talking at the audience of TTC worth getting through if you're not super invested in the whole big meta lore. I also like that he is definitely trying to die a little in series 12 and destroy himself in the special, like falling apart? interesting. Wish there was more connective tissue explicitly done between Missy & Dhawan!Master. Like sure you can work it out. But I still think Missy would want to destroy parts of Galifrey explicitly for The Doctor, angry because the time lords hurt their best friend vs. Dhawan being mad The Doctor is a part of him ya know? The Master and The Doctor have considered themselves inextricable from each other forever.(I have a whole AU story here but i'll skip that)

2) Delgado!Master

The OG has to be this close to the top! I love this guy, everyone. The way he and UNIT are like enemies in the most gentlemanly way possible. You buy that Delgado and Three were friends and I love that about them. The start of the "only i can kill The Doctor" idea that carries for many of the Masters. He wants to take over earth, sure but he also wants to pick fights with The Doctor. No he swears it's necessary for the plan he has to call The Doctor first. Dumbassess. Love that about them so much. He's also the most distinguished silly man ever. He always made me want more. People say he is overused, But it made those seasons feel kind of like a sitcom with an annoying neighbor who uses mind control. Also has a catch phrase! The way the brig is just so done with his shit, and like honestly UNIT kind of stops viewing him as a real threat lol.

1) Missy

I love her because she just wants her friend back. I love that she loves The Doctor. Sure she's still chaotic and out there making all kinds of evil for most of her run and thinks humans are funny and small, but she doesn't want to be cruel and cowardly anymore by the end. She wants to learn kindness. I think that's freaking beautiful. She will never really undue what she has done to planets full of people, but she isn't asking for their forgiveness, she just wants to stand with The Doctor. And that's so heartbreaking. She was going home to her friend, the long way round. Honestly I wish this had been the end of The Master's timeline. Sure she died, and was killed by her past. But that's okay, can they really have a happy ending? But she dies bravely! Without hope, without witness, without reward, she was The Doctor's friend. She stood up to her past self and to stand with The Doctor and she fell.

So, good question, how can one manifest away something that can make us feel skeptical of being taken away?

First of all, my heart calls out for you and I am wishing upon everything for you to be clear that I'm explaining now, now let's start.

Manifesting has no limit, one cent on the ground is equivalent to manifesting 100 million dollar, hence the same thing with any health issues, first of all, tell yourself you can most definitely allow yourself to be changed.

Allow yourself to be better, and give it your thoughts that you are purely healthy now.

I know, some say "but Coco, that sounds hard when I'm obviously not healthy!"

I've heard people having cancer and getting back on their feet, heck, my grandma had cancer and I manifested it away, literally even the doctor was shocked, saying how the hell did a cancer cell get reduced like that.

Simply. Believe. You're. Already. Healthy.

Be at the point you're at bliss, and no you don't need to affirm all the time, visualizing or whatever else, these are tools, that will help you get that small spark of realization.

BUT OF COURSE YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU WANT, those methods are a fun tool, like I said.

Be open to being healthy, take any pity aside, whenever you feel sad or bad about your health, simply say and push it aside with "I know I'm healthy, and I know that because I know my own body, and I allow myself to be healthy."

In short, simply fight back any negativity, for me, this is all you need, persistence, relaxation, and realization.

Then he falls in love with the prick. Bloody hell.
