💙💙This is not a drill! TREASURE comeback is confirmed!!! 💙💙

I'm so happy!!! I missed our boys so much! 💎

The T5 release will be in July and the actual comeback is in August. That means there will have been 11 months between 2 album releases and that seems insane to me. But Treasure has worked so hard this past year, they literally didn't have time to comeback sooner. How do other groups do this? Straykids, Twice, NCT etc they go on tour but still have multiple comebacks per year. How?? Are they not severely overworked or is JYP, SM, HYBE etc just better at time management? (that might be it tbh lol)

It feels unfair to ask of artists to have a comeback during or immediately after a (world) tour, but fans see so little of a group during a tour that it feels as if they weren't doing anything (no new music or big promotions etc)

For example Blackpink has been on tour since oktober 2022 and it will last at least until August 2023. That's almost a full year of touring! Jisoo had her solo debut and they did Coachella and they will perform at Hyde Park.

Right now everyone is saying that they deserve a break, Jennie performed 3 songs with an IV drip today, but had to leave the stage because she felt so sick, Jisoo had covid last week, the girls have all been seen with injuries. Only now will fans be sympathetic. The tour will be over, October 2023 will come and go and people will complain and riot that Blackpink should have had a comeback by now, only a month after their world tour ended.

And like, I'm not pointing fingers here, I've also been impatiently waiting for Treasure to make a comeback. I've had to remind myself how hard they've worked since last october.

They did so much promotion on youtube for Hello era which gets overlooked a lot because they did less in-person promotion in Korea.

Immediately after the comeback promotions, they did 'Hello concert in Seoul' + The exhausting Japan tour from November until January while also rehearsing and attending award shows. I remember being so worried for the members because that schedule was inhumane, it was way too much. Half the members had gotten sick, Junkyu lost his voice for three concerts, Jihoon was severely sleep deprived etc + they had to film content for Treasure World Map (which all Teumes should watch btw! it really doesn't get enough appreciation. Every episode makes me cry tears because they truly act like family 😭)

January and february they were seen filming Tmap + that's when they probably filmed a lot of the new episodes of T-talk, 3 minute treasure, fact check and tmi-logs + they shot the welcoming collection

March was the start of their Asia tour where they kept shooting for TWM + multiple members have said that at the same time they were working on the comeback.

My point is, they have had back to back schedules for the past year, they couldn't fit a comeback anywhere until now. Ideally, Treasure would take a well deserved break now, the tour ended, maybe they could visit their families (I was shocked when Jihoon said he only sees his family 3 times a year because of their busy schedule) or travel or maybe just rest for a few weeks and take a break from their Idol life... But they can't... Because it's been almost a year since their last comeback and fans are getting anxious. Just this week they have barely uploaded on social media or communicated with Teume (probably because they've been so busy preparing for the comeback) and already fans were having a hard time (me included btw and I feel bad because I still have a lot of Treasure content to catch up on, but it's not new content you know? So it's just not the same 😶)

All of this to say that I'm so happy Treasure is having a comeback but seeing Jennie so sick during Blackpinks concert and getting the Treasure announcement on the same day... It just made me think about how much fans ask of Idols... fans keep asking for more until their favs are sick or injured because they are overworked and suddenly fans change their mind (They should rest!, the tour should be cancelled! etc) but they will have forgotten about that by the next day, because it's always more fun to get content and it fucking sucks to wait.

every so often I think of this fic and I can't say that I'm overwhelmed with emotion because I'm not - it is true that the feelings from this story wash over me like water, but rather than a crashing wave against a cliff, it's more like submerging yourself under the surface, letting the water roll over you as it pushes and pulls in its soothing rhythm, one, two, three, one, two, three. it isn't overwhelming. it isn't dramatic. it's soft - it tickles a little, tiny waves rolling over the top of your head like fingers brushing feather soft against your skin. you close your eyes and you feel at peace, almost like you're flying even though you're floating beneath the waves, but isn't that sort of similar, anyway? weightlessness in the sky, weightlessness in the sea - it doesn't matter. you feel free.

pansy was the first reader insert fanfic I really read for any tbz member, and I can say without a doubt it contributed to my descent into the tbz hellhole. reading pansy feels like its title - a garden of blooming flowers surrounded by greenery, a huge expanse of sky stretching endlessly in either direction. sometimes there are clouds. sometimes it rains. sometimes the sun shines but coldly, with a chill in its rays that makes you shiver despite its warmth, but there are moments, sweet, pure moments that make all of the clouds and chill worth it. these are the moments when the pansies blossom and you feel a smile on your face grow like the opening petals because casey's writing just makes you feel that way - a flower bursting into bloom.

I don't know what it is about shawna's writing, but it just makes you long for something you never knew you lost. before I read eurydice, I'd never known that a story could be written this way - the way shawna weaves emotions into her words, painting longing and desire and in the end, love at an endless cost, with simple black text on a page... I really don't know how she does it. to me, eurydice feels like the color green. pale green, almost grey, but just enough verdancy in the steampunk world that it feels mystical, almost, like a wisp of smoke that I can see but can't quite grasp. it's intangible, but in the moment, just perfect - a carefully cut jewel of a story that does fade, slightly, but still lingers in your mind, just there, barely there, reminding you of a story that will never quite be lost to time.

albrechts - APOLLO (ateez san)

I don't often read on ao3 and even less do I read member x member pairings, but forever I will be glad I clicked on this fic when I happened to see a recommendation for it on Tumblr. it's a woosan pairing with san as a ballerina dancer and wooyoung as a dance instructor, and it's just... the writing. it's brilliant. san's thoughts push and pull like the waves of the sea on the beach where he was born, constant metaphors of water and the sea that meld so perfectly with the endlessness of his thoughts. I've only ever felt this when I read to the lighthouse by virginia woolf, the sense that the words feel like the waves. user albrechts just... I don't know how they do it. it's an unfinished fic and quite long, but I love long fics and each chapter update just makes me even more excited for the next. if you don't mind member x member pairings and some slightly suggestive content, I highly recommend it. it's better than a lot of published fiction I've read.

very sweet, very lovely, a burgeoning friendship that blossoms over time. I think I said this when I rbed it, but it felt like polishing a photo frame that's gathered dust over the years. there's an almost nostalgic feeling to the story, something very lovely and tangible, if only barely, just enough to make you smile - it feels like walking through time.

@chaninfused - danse macabre (skz minho)

fantasy and adventure and a huge FUCK YES. reading danse macabre felt like watching a drama or a movie of some sort - there was suspense at every turn that just kept me absolutely hooked throughout the story. I was holding my breath throughout the fic, and oh god, minho's devotion to mc is just so sweet :) you'll be smiling by the end, I promise!

comedic relief and a breath of fresh air. I tend to write heavier fics - I think even my fluff ones usually have a deeper undertone - but reading santiago was like !! just !! wow !!!! I was laughing at different parts but also wholly fully rooting for ateez in others like !!!!!!!! fuck the other restaurant owner she doesn't deserve rights but yeah anyway absolute fucking genius of anne to come up with this. incredibly unique and incredibly fun to read.

has it really been 5 FUCKING YEARS with nct!? ugh damn...sometimes it still feels like smrookies era happened yesterday. I still remember those days like it was yesterday...the little collabs they’d do with the red velvet members and those other smrookies girls🥺the bassbot and other dance vids🥺and the mickey mouse club performances 🥺 It still feels like nct is a fresh and new rookie group that debuted 2 yrs ago. I even remember how repulsed everyone was at SM for the nct idea...lol. as messy as it (STILL!!!!!) is, I consider it JUST as much of a blessing as it is a curse 🤣 I also remember I HATED firetruck so much when it came out that I couldn’t even finish halfway through the song. I thought it was absolutely garbage and that it was gonna be the death of sm ent and lost hope in nct’s future (LMAO I was so overdramatic🤣💀) ... but then several weeks later, I felt a random urge to listen to it again, then became OBSESSED with it! now firetruck one of my most fav songs by them!! AHAHAHA...woopwoopwoopWOOP!!!! their music isn’t easy on the ears at first listen but then it becomes super infectious

I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. Every era is special in its own way and now when I listen back at most of their songs, I’m like “oh I remember I playing this on a long road trip” or “oh I remember playing this when I was just ending school” and so forth...

Nct is one of my dormant fandoms. I usually don’t follow their whereabouts every day cuz I’m a busy gal (and let’s face it...what isn’t nct doing? such busy boys lol) but when they’re releasing something big, you bet I’ll repeat the HELL out of their albums, binge watch their nctdaily youtube videos, and learn as much of the words to their songs as possible!! I go HARD whenever they release new music. i LAAHHVVEE them so much 🥺

It definitely feels like they’re not a five year old group, but I’ve only been a fan since the end of 2017, so it’s been like 3 years, but damn that time has flown and they’ve done so much in that time, like more than any other groups I’ve been into. I’m super proud of the group as a whole and all of the units and the members for everything they do. Five years is a long time for them and they’ve grown literally so much in that time

A solo stan who is thinking about checking other groups out?

There is nothing wrong with being a solo stan (as in only liking 1 group) as long as you are kind and courteous to other groups.

Also this post might not be for you.

But if you are a solo stan (usually starting with BTS) or just in need of finding new groups and thinking about spreading your wings here are some suggestions. 🙂

When I first got into kpop way back in the 2010 years I had no clue what I had stumbled on and I only liked 2 groups max for the longest time because I didnt know about any other groups. Since then I’ve come to love so many groups that I wish I knew about sooner.

Now mind you. I am primarily a boy group stan so there are not a lot of girl groups on her so please forgive me. -*edit I’ve decided to do a part 2 of just girl groups so stay tuned

-NCT Dream is as this moment not a fixed unit and based on idols age.

-When they get old enough the members “graduate” and join other NCT sub-units

-Mark of NCT 127 was once the leader but he reached the age limit and “Graduated” and thus no longer apart of the group.

-Many fans detest this concept and wish SM to make them a fixed unit but that doens’t mean you can’t love OT6 or OT7 at the moment.

Stray Kids:

now that my restricted era is (hopefully forever) over i just want to post it here for the sake of completion since i want to do the same thing this year

this is really long so if you actually read it ... idk you are insane in the membrane and i love you... but i genuinely don’t expect anyone to read this hjfdhjf i just like reflecting on the music i have listened to and be able to look back on what i enjoyed in certain stages of my life! okiiii bye 💗

january

mac miller - circles (album) it’s a bit funny that i worried putting my thoughts down about this album and now it turns out to be first on the list, chronologically of course … oh bittersweet irony </3 listening to this album is such a double edged sword, either way i am always hit with a truckload of feelings when i turn to this release.

this album came to me in a time of my life where i was slowly but surely sliding down towards rock bottom again just after i got out of it and thought i was okay. the times i’ve listened to this crying in the bathtub with a glass of wine….girl let’s not lol…. it’s almost strange how much i can relate to the thoughts another person brought to paper. the comfort this album brings me is otherworldly, i feel so understood by mac’s words and it’s my go-to “wallow in self-pity for a bit then come out stronger than before” album. then again, i feel a little sting when any of mac’s songs come on shuffle. a friend of mine said she cannot listen to artists who have passed because it feels too strange and most of the time i agree but this time, it’s so so different. this album would have been mac’s salvation, i can feel it. everything would have been a bit brighter and lighter for him after this, it would have had to be. i feel like i would do him a disservice if i did not listen to this album, so i will cherish this final gift from him as his legacy and my comfort. i miss him incredibly and am all the more thankful he shared his heart with us.

tiny meat gang - broke bitch (single) MAN I TELL THAT BROKE BITCH IF YOU WANNA GET IN TUNE BETTER CHANGE YOUR WHOLE PITCH LIKE WOAH !!!!!!!!!! did that give you whiplash? hehe funny to say this about a song called broke bitch by a duo called tiny meat gang but this song actually means a lot to me! it came out shortly before their show in berlin and i almost exclusively listened to it on my 7+ hours train ride from one side of the country to the other to see my meat boys. this played out of the fat ass speakers at the venue when they stepped on the stage and i will never forget meeting them :’) also the song fucking slaps obviously

loona - [#] (mini album) ah yes, the most controversial loona release to date! i’m not gonna lie and say this sounded anything like i expected it to. but also, i have come to terms with the fact that loona release noise music now and personally i am here for it. why not did not have the endless energy of hi high or otherworldly vibe of butterfly, but it’s a hype song and i am always there for hype. i also have to say the b-sides were not as strong for me as on previous releases but i think i have to come to peace with the fact that loona will never top their debut mini for me. though if i can wish for one thing…… let loona have title tracks with a chorus in 2021? pls? crumbs?

tame impala - the slow rush (album) *lights cigarette* i’m listening to pretty underground music….i don’t think you’ve heard of this band….they are called tame impala *intro of the less i know the better starts playing* yes i am a basic white bitch and listen to like 3 alternative bands but damn i listen to them religiously. like any other basic bitch on this planet i found out about tame impala through the less i know the better and checked out their music. i wasn’t too much into this album as i was into currents but towards the end of the year, i was in a moody alternative music slump that took me back to this album and i like it a lot more now! most importantly, tame impala fulfills my primitive urge to listen to songs that exceed the 4 minute mark. something clicks in my brain when i see a song that is like 6:34 and chances that it ends up as one of my faves on a album are high. i enjoy tiktok like everyone else but this trend of 2:50 long songs needs to be stopped immediately.

nct 127 - neo zone (album) ah, yes. the album that fundamentally changed me as a person <3 i’ve been listening to nct for a while, matter of fact i checked my top tracks 2019 playlist on spotify and cherry bomb was on there lol. i remember trying to get into them in 2018 when they released their regular-irregular album but the endless member & unit concept scared me off, so i only listened to a handful of songs without looking into them march 2020, the fateful month in which they released kick it and screencaps of jaehyun’s sexy ass tiddies in the kick it mv landed on my tumblr or twitter and i HAD to look up who this man is…...remember when i thought jaehyun was my ult for like, 2 weeks? me neither, johnny suh only in this house <3

anyway, i checked out this album and by god, is this pure kpop perfection. last time i listened to a god tier no skip album like this was … maybe the perfect red velvet? hype songs, well crafted ballads, love songs that make me wanna learn the lyrics, genuinely fun and interesting pop songs, this album has it all. somehow, the way this album is crafted greatly reminds me of brown eyed girls’ sound-g, it has the same vibe, concept and mix of genres to me, i’m not entirely sure how to explain. anyway, this album is one of my favorites of all time and even though i’ve obsessively listened to it (lastfm says 1.4k scrobbles as of today, december 7th…) i am still not tired of this. i recommend this to anyone who loves kpop tbh, you will have a good time with this!

other than being just a musically solid album, the emotional ties i have with this are …. isabel stop making albums your emotional support 2021 challenge. i’ve listened to this release all spring lockdown, this basically played at every waking hour for all of march and april. the promotion time of this era and lockdown are deeply intertwined for me and so i am always remembered of all the nct content i consumed during that time which inevitably cheered me up so much. this album really means a lot to me :’)

the weeknd - after hours (album) my dear melchanoly, was one of my favorite releases of 2018, so i had been desperate for a new release by abel and boy did he not disappoint. the perfect thotty, dirty emo 80s, making it clap while crying in the club album! this is a no skip from top to bottom and all i can say is that the grammys can go to hell <3 abel aoty! there is really not much i can say about this album, the flawless production, lyrics and sound speak for themself. my only criticism is that i feel overwhelmed by 14 songs, especially when some of them are really long. a few songs greatly overshadow the weaker tracks on the album for me but i still love this to death.

dua lipa - future nostalgia (album) after the weeknd’s masterpiece of an 80s inspired pop album i was really looking forward to this. i greatly enjoyed the pre-releases, i played don’t start now and physical up and down, they are still some of my favorite songs released this year! when i first listened to the album i really liked it, songs like boys will be boys or pretty please sound like fillers to be but the rest is solid. yet a month after release you couldn’t catch me listening to this and i cannot even really tell you why. i think it was a combination of the following: 1) i greatly overplayed dsn and physical to the point where i didn’t want more of the pop 80s sound that the album has 2) there were other releases at the time that caught my attention and interest more like neo zone or after hours 3) dua herself….girl….she really gave it her all this year to make herself as unlikeable as possible. nationalist propaganda and the constant traveling during a fucking pandemic were really the kicker. i can barely stand seeing her on my instagram feed anymore, much less listen to her album. her having the nerve to go “we’re in a pandemic lol” when people asked about an animated music video …. if you don’t shut the hell up lmao … also, she takes the crown for the corniest album opener of all time. i nearly closed spotify when i heard future nostalgia (the song) lmao

listen, i’m not gonna sit here and pretend like this mini album interested me in the slightest but god, the title is such a banger.i’m so sick, eung eung and dumhdurum are a holy trilogy that i will defend until the end of time! i really hope apink stick to this mature, elegant concept, it suits them so well and goes well with their new sound. come back soon queens <3

rina sawayama - xs (song) i feel like i’m gonna catch some hands here … xs is an absolute banger, the guitar riffs and disruptive sounds really get me going every damn time! but the rest of the album … tell me why it doesn’t catch me?! i literally cannot explain. i need to take an hour, sit down and do nothing but listen to the album from top to bottom once again and see if my thoughts change but right now i only care about xs.

chungha - stay tonight (song) drama! vocals! dance break! choreography! this release served it all. i listened to this obsessively during the time of the release and it still holds up today. can we talk about the run chungha had with gotta go > snapping > stay tonight? lord have mercy.

lady gaga - chromatica (album) the immense disappointment i have in this album is tough to put into words lol. any other artist might have gotten away with this release but gaga having the discography that she has, well … she doesn’t get away with it. this has underwhelming all over it. i enjoyed the pre-releases and my hope was high but the rest just doesn’t live up what i expected, i can’t even say why. it’s just underwhelming pop for someone of gaga’s calibre. i listened to this album during release week and then never again till december to write this list and i can see why.

baekhyun - delight (mini album) it’s confession time … this is a name i never would have expected on any of my music lists to end up. exo has always been one of those boy groups i casually listened to. i greatly enjoy their title tracks and a handful of side tracks, i have a few members that i keep an eye on more than others but that’s about it. baekhyun was never one of those members i had any interest in, matter of fact i always thought he was kinda vanilla and boring 😭 i didn’t even plan on listening to this release if it wasn’t for his association with superm and thus nct, so i gave it a shot and we have no choice but to stan. his voice is like butter and can cut sharp at the same time, his versatility is insane. i dived a bit more into baekhyun related content and he is so likeable, it’s almost ridiculous. this production is absolute god tier, not a single skip on this mini. late spring/early summer i had this weird urge to listen to songs with mellow voices but still a banger instrumental and i wholeheartedly blame this release. matter of fact, this album is so good, i had to buy a physical copy. Y’ALL. THIS IS A BIG DEAL. i haven’t bought a kpop album of anyone that’s not holy top 3 (brown eyed girls, loona, nct) in like … idk, 5 years?! baekhyun’s impact. i’m a fan now <3

nct 127 - neo zone: the final round (repackage) *airhorns* REEEPACKAGE TIIIIIME!!! my first nct era that i experienced from start to finish! i remember watching nct 127’s beyond live with luna where these mfs performed punch and we finished the concert having no idea what this song sounded like. the structure is so unusual and the intro catches me off-guard every time just to hype me up beyond compare. not gonna lie, the fact that johnny has exactly one (1) line hurts but! it’s my favorite line of the entire song! possibly related to the fact that it’s his line but let’s ignore that ….

stray kids - go live (album) 2020 was kind of the year of boy groups for me, i’m so sorry … stray kids promoted simultaneously with nct 127 so i ended up hearing their title track and holy hell, is that a song. god’s menu is hype from start to finish. it reminds me of good ol’ 2nd gen noise boy group song a lá b*g b*ng fantastic baby. just pure hype and fun noise. i am forever grateful to witness the birth of the line cooking like a chef, i’m a five star michelin. the title track impressed me so much that i ended up checking out the entire album which i rarely ever do with boy groups and what is even rarer is that i enjoyed the b sides lmao!!! it’s not an album that i would put on and just enjoy from start to finish but it has some really solid tracks! this release made me want to keep an eye on stray kids, they seem like a really fun bunch.

seventeen - left & right (song) the boy group run continues … same thing with stray kids, seventeen promoted during punch era so i heard their song while watching some music station show for nct and i heard this and was sold. solid, fun pop with the catchiest pre-chorus in history and a banger chorus. i listened to the entire mini and can’t say it really caught my interest so this is a title track only release for me.

irene & seulgi - monster (mini) this is a weird release because it’s good. the title track is fun enough, the b sides are dope. but my issue with this is that it’s nothing new. this sounds exactly like a red velvet release. i get that they didn’t want to a  joy, seulgi, irene, yeri release only and went for the sub-unit route instead, but why not be experimental and stray away from the usual sound of the group? also, whoever made monster and not naughty the title track deserves to be spat on. at least the choreography here is more interesting and “experimental” for kpop standards. also, why only a seulgi solo and no irene? i have no idea how reveluvs reacted to this release but this has rushed written all over it.

blackpink - the album (album, duh) i don’t even know what to say about this … this might be the weirdest release on the list for me. there are song i absolutely fucking hate (ice cream …) and songs i get my life to (pretty savage) on here and the discrepancy just gives me massive whiplash. i would never put this album on and listen to the whole body of work, i just cannot with the brain damage it gives me. i am still stuck in 2016, begging for bp to release music like whistle/boombayah/stay/playing with fire but i think i need to give up on that wishful thinking … i am just grateful we a got a title track with actual lyrics in the chrous for once.

nct - nct 2020 resonance pt. 1 (album) this era was … a ride. nct 2020 happening was near inevitable but with covid it got pushed back so far, i started to believe it wasn’t even going to happen. i was semi-terrified of what was going to happen during a comeback with 21 (now 23!!) member group since i only experienced nct 127 comebacks so far and uhh … a LOT happened lmfao but let’s keep this about the album … i had no idea what was going to hit me. johnny having effectively 3 lines in nct 2018 did not give me much hope and after he got denoted to no line treatment in punch again, i was ready to not even have any expectation but this release changed everything. make no mistake that most of my favorite songs are units with johnny, we knew that was gonna happen lmaooo they dropped the teaser video for misfit and i thought i had my favorite song in the bag and then faded in my last song happened. y’all. JOHNNY SINGS? LIKE? ACTUALLY SINGS? DOESN’T GET FORCED TO RAP OR TALK-SING? MY MAN’S VOCALS??? OH MY GAAAAHD! this song is dramatic, theatrical, emo, it serves vocals and rap, it has catchy english and korean lyrics, this is THE song, the ULTIMATE song. i love this song so much, i want to belt it on top of my lungs in the pouring rain. apart from fimls, i also loveeee misfit, that was to be expected after i was going completely insane over the track video. johnny has like 3 lines but again they are iconic (WARNIN’! NCT WE MOBBIN’!) and i just enjoy the track too much to be upset over that. nectar. holy fuck. nectar!!!! wayv never disappoints with their thotty songs, they now have an absolute god tier hoe-ly song trinity with love talk > bad alive > nectar. the first chorus and hendery’s first verse (CHOP CHOP CHOP!) get me every time, this song is so insanely good i am severely upset i cannot sing along to it :( music, dance has nct 127 written all over it in bold letters, it’s so inherently 127’s sound!!!! i love this song so much, it’s so fun, upset and has massive dance-ability, i wish we had gotten a stage for it but i guess you can’t have everything in life </3 make a wish……………………………..the cursed unit. i don’t want to say anything about this except that, unfortunately, the song is fun and i enjoy it. the end. overall, this album is so insanely solid. i know i talk about my favorites A LOT but i genuinely do not dislike a single song on here, this is an absolute no skip album! that’s it. see you for resonance part 2!!!!!

loona - 12:00 (mini album) controversial loona release 2.0! i don’t know what it is, but somehow they managed to lace the words di da dam di dam di dam dam dam dam di dam (yeah) with pure crack. i fucking love why not, i would even go as far to say it’s my 2nd favorite title track. that is right, i think it’s better than butterfly (btw: hi high > why not > butterfly > so what). so much was strange this comeback, from the inexplicable concept + teasers, the outfits, the styling (yves….i mourn your hot girl era) but the title track is just SO good, SO fun, SO catchy that i am willing to ignore it all. i also enjoy the b sides much more than on #, they are much more memorable to me. and now … HASEUL RETURN…………….i purely live to see the next loona comeback at this point

twice - i can’t stop me (song) thank fuck twice released a good song this year. if more & more had been the only 2020 release, that would have been the real tragedy. not gonna lie, i still haven’t listened to the full album, it just keeps slipping my mind. but! i’m going to! until then i’m gonna bop to i can’t stop me.

ariana grande - positions (album) the way this album has people upset is so funny. i am a huge dangerous woman fan myself, it’s my fave ariana album to date but she has said repeatedly that this is not the sound she is striving for. now she has her coin and can do whatever she wants in music and if that is r’n’b then fuck! we have to live with it! lmao! i can live with the sex theme of the album because it’s delivered in a fun way? but it’s getting a bit old...if the next album is about riding dick only too idk how much i would enjoy that. i would probably always come back to ari because i like her voice so much but girl, there are other topics to sing about, i promise! anyway! i like this album, it’s one of those where i can hit shuffle and enjoy it in the background while doing other stuff.

tiny meat gang - sofia (song) ayyy, it’s my meat boys :’) ending the year the same way they started it, with a banger! i absolutely love the guitar instrumental, the melancholic love song type sound paired with the theme of singing about loving a robot … yup, that’s creativity and talent right here! this makes me so freaking desperate for a new ep and i genuinely have no idea how far or close we are to one but!!! i am always waiting!!!

noel - push (ep) this is something i absolutely did not expect. noel (of tiny meat gang!) released his first ep ever and i was absolutely wowed. noel has it all, the voice, the talent, the creativity and all it took him was the confidence to finally put something out and i’m so happy he did. he gets real personal on bus back, more than ever before and i always get a bit emo listening to this track </3 this man is gonna go places and i’m so happy to witness his journey.

taemin - never gonna dance again act 2 (album) i’m gonna say it. idea is better than criminal. the chorus drop???? when he goes MY AH AH  MY AH AH MY AH MY IDEA MY MY IDEAAAAAA A-A-A A-A-A???? bitch … tell me you can sit still, i won’t believe you. i like part 2’s title track more, but part 1’s b sides are more interesting to me. either way, taemin delivered as expected!!

nct - nct 2020 resonance pt. 2 (album) part two, baby! we made it! part 2 had more mellow, ballad-y songs with my everything, i.o.u. and all about you, overall less drama than part 1 but i still enjoyed it. work it is one of those controversial songs where you despise it with your entire being or you defend this top tier noise till the end and i am absolutely the latter. the agony of not being able to listen to it and seeing the timeline so divided nearly killed me, but i have concluded that people who hate work it have never felt joy in their life <3 honestly my opinion cannot be counted because i eat up anything johnny participates in … biased ass… what i’m not gonna talk about is resonance (the song), this absolute mess of a “remix”. the audacity sm had to release this as a single is insane. anyway!! this era was a rollercoaster ride. all the interactions truly made me interested in members of other units more. hendery (the rise and fall …), yangyang my beautiful son, jeno aka blue hair guy, chenle the chaos kid and xiaojun after he made make a wish his bitch in particular! all the interactions between the units were so fun to witness and it was fun while it lasted but i am … so glad it’s over lol. i miss nct 127, i miss some peace, i hope the boys get to rest for a bit and so does my bank account.

miley cyrus - plastic hearts (album) not in a thousand years would i have expected a miley release to be on here. this girl does everything to be absolutely unlikeable in my eyes but after severely banging out to her heart of glass cover, i was really excited for this and it did not disappoint. what is disappointing is that it took her so long to find a sound that fits her like a glove. i believe many people miss out on this release after her previous history and i nearly would have done the same. this alt/rock influenced pop does her voice so many favors and i really hope she sticks to this direction, i love this album greatly!!

kai - kai (mini album) just. imagine debuting with an album like that. lol. what a god tier big dick move. we all knew whatever this release was gonna be, above all it was going to be sexy and boy were we RIGHT!!!! mmmh is exactly as thotty as i needed it to be and the b sides give me everything from r’n’b to trap. i love this release and i love that it’s only the beginning of kai! like!! he is only gonna gain even more experience and become even more powerful!! what the fuck!!!!!

mgmt - little dark age (album, 2018) & oracular spectactular (album, 2007) another tiktok serve. i found little dark age through a tiktok trend and ended up really liking mgmt. they fit perfectly into my autumn/winter moody alt/rock mood that i had going on and i’m happy they have so much more music that i can check out!

tame impala - currents (album, 2015) everyone’s favorite basic alt bitch album! i enjoyed this more than the slow rush for a good chunk of time, it also fit right into my alt rock autumn mood. i really love this album, like previously mentioned it has my favorite long ass tracks on there but also a good amount of short or medium long tracks. i’m still busy enjoying currents and the slow rush but i can’t wait till i finally take the leap to dive into their other releases because i’m loving everything i’ve heard so far.

joji - ballads 1 (2018) after liking nectar so much, checking joji out was a given and i just love this album. only when i listened to this i realized i heard slowly dancing in the dark a few times on tiktok lmao that cursed app man … i would say i love nectar a bit more but this is still a fantastic album!!

jus2 - focus (mini album, 2019) in my “mellow moody bangers” phase i was scouring playlists for more songs and i think i found focus on me first which fitted right into the niche i was looking to fill and i ended up enjoy this whole release! only later i realized this is a sub-unit from got7 lmao how come i enjoy solo or unit releases by got7 members but their group discography never interested me? anyway, very sexy ep!

baekhyun - city lights (mini album, 2019) i am repenting for my sins of missing out on baekhyun releases by consuming his music at an exorbitant rate. un village is one hell of a title track that i didn’t appreciate before, but i feel like in 2020 my music interests started to vary and i love the groovy r’n’b and string sound of this song so much. i also love stay up to death, the vocals baekhyun serves here are unreal. his BABY WE CAN STAY UP!!!!!!! gets me every single time!!!! what a mini!

mac miller - swimming (album, 2018) i’ve listened to this album before 2020 but i had the urge to put this on here. this is going to sound so corny, but if i had to pick one song to be my life’s title track, it would be ladders. the hope this song gives me is unreal, it feels like a light at the end of the tunnel. this album is so fantastic, i love the upbeat instrumentals paired with sometimes gloomy lyrics are so incredible, mac was truly one of the greatest artists of our time. this album is  so outstanding and i miss him every day.

Chapter 3: Jaeyong videos are no joke

Jaehyun was folding clothes out of the drier while listening to Winwin telling him about his mother worrying about him.

“I told her I have two overly obsessive roommates who care about me too much and she laughed!? But I think it calms her down to remember that there are people here who care about me. It must be tough for her.”

Jaehyun hummed in response.

“Oi.” Winwin waved in front of him. “You’re supposed to show me some sympathy here? Maybe offer me some ramen? Hey, hey, those aren’t even your clothes, right?”

Jaehyun looked at the clothes in hands and nodded slowly. “Taeyong’s so busy and I was doing my laundry anyway.”

“You guys are so domestic,” Winwin teased. “It’s really cheesy.”

Jaehyun looked around wildly before whispering, “Winwin-ah, you’re too loud. Someone will hear you.”

“Nah, quit being so paranoid. We’re the only ones here. Taeil hyung already left to look after the Dreamies today.” He laughed. “I would pay some good money to see that. They are exceptionally hyper around him.”

But Jaehyun wasn’t even listening. “He looked so good this morning,” he murmured almost absent-mindedly. He looked at their TV which was playing the Music Core live stream. “I can’t believe we have to wait so much for the performance.”

“You know all of us would be spared the crackling sexual tension between you two if you guys actually talked. Don’t you think it’s been really long?”

“You just say that because you’ve watched too many of those videos our fans make.”

“Jaeyong videos are no joke, man. If it wasn’t for that one czennie at the fansign last year, I wouldn’t have known. You guys are really subtle but once one sees it, it becomes so obvious.”

Jaehyun groaned. “We can’t just believe whatever we want about Taeyong, right? After all, I have no idea what he feels about me or even the idea of us. He hasn’t said anything, ever, and I am not going to say anything until he says. It would be so uncomfortable. Besides, I’m really bad at expressing my feelings. I’d probably end up saying something wrong. What if—”

“Jae, Jae, you worry too much. I keep telling you to just allow Ten to weed it out of Johnny. I’m pretty sure Johnny knows what Taeyong feels or could potentially feel.” Winwin wiggled his eyebrows.

“If I had to get it out of Johnny, I would have asked him myself. No, I’m just going to wait. If it’s meant to be, it will.”

“Things don’t happen on their own. See, Ten and I have this plan. It’s a foolproof plan,” Winwin started.

“Is it like the one you guys planned where you pushed me onto him last week? Because I nearly kissed him there while he froze. No, seriously, you two make horrible plans. He’ll end up bro-zoning me like this.” He added wistfully after a few seconds, “Maybe I should have kissed him there.” He looked at Winwin with a sudden brightness. “Maybe I should kiss him. No words involved!”

“Dude, life isn’t like the movies. You can’t just kiss him. There won’t be a background choir and rain. You need to plan these things. It needs to be special.”

“It works in the movies!” Jaehyun complained.

Winwin made a face. “Will you listen to Ten and my plan?”  

When Jaehyun didn’t reply, Winwin sighed. “Okay, let’s go.” He grabbed his friend’s hands.

“Woah, where are we going?” Jae said, following him.

“I hate it when you mope around the house. Let’s just go see them. I really wanted to see Yuta dance live too.”

“Speaking of Yuta,” Jaehyun began.

“We are discussing your love life, not mine.” He rolled his eyes.

“Till when will you ignore your own feelings?”

“We’ll get late if you gossip like this,” Winwin said dismissively but he was smiling.

“Let me grab a jacket, at least.”

They reached the venue, sneaking in with their manager’s help.

“You guys could have just come with us in the morning,” their manager said.

Winwin smiled cutely. “We wanted to surprise them.”

“Oh that’s why you were all hush-hush. Okay, kids, just see that you are on the low. And don’t get lost!”

There were still a couple of performances which they watched from the side-lines, doing their best to stay out of their members’ way.

“Oh, there they are,” Winwin whispered. “Do we look that cool? This is so exciting.”

Jaehyun nodded, with a proud smile on his face, his eyes focusing on Taeyong’s serious expression. He was breathtakingly beautiful and the way he moved was flawless. He was ashamed to realize that he hardly paid attention to the song. His attention was arrested by Taeyong and his personality. He knew Taeyong was his happiest on stage, performing his heart out with a confidence that was so unique to him and to see him perform made him happy.

As the song was ending, someone tripped over one of the lighting wires and crashed into him and Winwin.

The lights blinked on and off once before lighting up again.

As he got up, he recognized the person. “Ten?”

“What are you two doing here?” He grinned, cradling his camera, looking it over for any damages.

Jaehyun quirked an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”

“I told Johnny I’d take lots of pictures of him. I’m being a supportive friend here.” Ten patted himself on his back. “He’s really sexy today.”

There it was. Jaehyun wished he had half of Ten’s confidence but then Johnny was just as vocal while here he had to pick up hints from Taeyong which he wasn’t even sure were right in the first place.

He lifted his head when he heard the crowd clapping and he realized they had ended up missing the end of the performance and suddenly they were surrounded by their members.

“Who tripped over the wires? I thought I’d burst out laughing when the lights began to twinkle,” Haechan was asking.

Yuta made a bee-line for Winwin. “You came.”

“I was getting bored at home,” he replied nonchalantly.

“Guys, guys, Celeb 5 are performing. Shush,” Doyoung whispered as their manager made a sign to them.

Jaehyun looked sideways. Taeyong was pressed against him, still breathing heavily from the performance.

Taeyong caught his stare and smiled at him. “Did you like the performance?”

The way his hair flowed down his forehead, the angle of his nose, his lips. Jaehyun realized he was staring and gulped, looking away as he answered, “You were really good. You all were. Yeah.”

“When did you all plan to come?” Taeyong leaned even closer to whisper. Jaehyun could feel his breath on his neck and it was doing weird things to his mind.

He replied, his throat dry, “Uh, it was kind of last minute.”

Taeyong smiled again. “Well, I’m glad you came.” He bumped shoulders with him. “I just realized how beautiful this place is.”

Jaehyun never took his eyes off him. You, you are beautiful. “Yes, it is.”

Later when they were all talking over lunch, he was sitting opposite Taeyong, smiling at some joke someone had made and his phone pinged. He looked at the screen—

“You’re drooling over Taeyong hyung again.”

He nearly choked over his pizza, looking at the message and then at the contact name, Donghyuck. He looked over to the edge of the booth where Haechan and Mark were giggling at him. He felt heat rise up his face and looked away quickly, running a hand through his hair.

Haechan had a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Jaehyun hyung?”

“Uh yeah?”

“Don’t you think Taeyong hyung danced really well today?”

Jaehyun was aware that suddenly everybody at the table was listening to their conversation. Awkward, he thought, mentally praying everyone to just go on with their respective conversations. He cleared his throat, pretty sure his face was the colour of a tomato. “He always dances well.”

Taeyong laughed a short, nervous laugh. “Haechanie, you beat everyone today. You are something else.”

“Really, you were so cute! You should have heard the audience cheering for you,” Mark agreed, excitedly.

The conversation veered towards Haechan’s expressive dancing style and when Jaehyun finally found the courage to look up, Taeyong caught his gaze and smiled warmly.

“You okay?” he mouthed.

No, I am crazy in love with you. Jaehyun nodded but before he could say anything, Ten was shaking his arm, asking him about the name of the restaurant they had gone to.

“It’s such a cosy one, John. We should definitely go sometime. What’s it called, Jae?”

He told him the name. It was his favourite restaurant too. He had a lot of memories there. Back in their trainee days, Taeyong and he had chanced upon it and it had become one of those calming places they would frequent.

Opposite him, Taeyong heard the exchange and his smile dropped. He pushed back the slice of pizza in his hand. Suddenly, he wasn’t hungry. So, Jaehyun had taken Ten there.

He wished he didn’t feel so wretched about it but it was their place. The only place he could call theirs and now, even that felt like it was just something he had imagined. He got up. “I’ll head back early. I have some lyrics I have to finish.”

Jaehyun was staring at him. “Wait, I’ll come too.”

“No.” It came out sharper than he had expected. “You stay here and uh, I’ll see you at the dorm. I’ll pay the bill. You all eat well, okay? Good job today.”

It was Doyoung who caught up with him outside the restaurant. “Is everything okay? Want me to accompany you?”

He shrugged. “If you want.”

Have you seen the tweet about how Twitter is a place that one thing is said and it gets twisted into another thing? It went something like “I like pancakes.” And someone on Twitter will be like “So you hate pancakes right?” This situation has turned into that tweet. One person says one thing and people turn it into a whole other something.

I believe the jacket was mentioned and discovered by fans before this. They had contact the store or something and asked about the jacket. I have to go back to reread and look at the information. It was a lot and it’s been a while since I got into some of it. Regarding the hashtag misspelling, honestly no one was looking at those hashtags. Everyone was focus on what was attached to those hashtags to even pay any attention to them. But I saw some people assuming that it was done purposely because it was for that group of ssngs to find and their inner circle. A part of me thinks that if it’s true that they were posting this on different accounts before it got big, they themselves didn’t realize their mistake and just kept copying and pasting until they were satisfied with where to post it because it’s really weird for all the exact misspelling for these people.

There was this one lc account with a moderately good following of lc fans who after this happened was going on attacks about how he was never a good dancer and had no talent and did not compare to the new member she changed her username to. She was doing this as that video of him dancing was being spread around and people saying ty was so pissed at him and how he probably got yelled at after the performance. First I had to lololol so bad because then why the hell were you a lc account before all of this?? Some of them sound so bitter and crazy. And second, what kind of wild imagination do you people have? But of course everyone ran with this narrative that ty was so angry with him and cue all these solo stans inserting xx member’s name that they should have been in the front spot instead of him because they’re a better dancer who doesn’t make mistakes. Just say you’re pissed that your fav didn’t get the center spot and got lost and unnoticed in a sea of 23 men. People aren’t so slick with their words. It’s also even funnier when the people who are calling him useless and says he brings nothing to the group only got into nct/wayv because of him. Do you people realize what you are saying out loud? those six things you stated absolutely true and yes it isn't so black and white. what i've been saying from the very beginning is that we will never know the full story. fans need to remember that. they often think what we're given is everything, but it isn't. there will always be information withheld from us because we weren't there, we weren't involved. nothing is ever black and white.

translation is another issue within itself. these languages in general have an issue with being translated to english because there isn't always an english equivalent. even their songs get lost in translation. but when you get issues like these, it gets worse because like you said people translate wrong, only translate parts, or they aren't even fluent. it's why i say to take everything with a grain of salt and really look into who's translating to see how trustworthy they are.

people don't like to be wrong. they've already painting a narrative in their head, already deemed him guilty. it's a gem to find those who actually care about the truth and are willing to be educated.

Self producing idol is seriously big deal. To start, seventeen is mad eof 13 members in 3 different units; Hip Hop team, Vocal team and Performance team.

these teams, I guess they were formed before debut, during Like Seventeen project? these teams, I think is one of a kind concept, like their rings. yeash.

Hip Hop team

S.coups, general leader and leader of Hip Hop team, following Vernon, Mingyu and Wonwoo. here’s to my bias. Hip hop team, they basically in charge of raps, check out Check In, but don’t ever think that they couldn’t sing. Heck I kill those people who says that can’t sing! Listen to Lean on Me and Trauma. Those three songs are my favs for Hip Hop team, and watch out for Mingyu’s vocal in Trauma. No kidding. Having a Vernon also a bonus, because he could make sexy English raps hahahahhaha. plus they have their own style of raps. I like that when they perform, they didn’t stick to their demos or their recorded song, always improvise and adlibs, which I really enjoy jamming with Hip Hop team.

Well actually I liked ballad songs and almost all of the vocal team song hit home. But personally, Pinwheel struck me the most. Woozi made the song based on his dreams. How cool is that???

But Swimming Fool is also catchy. Oh, and this group always made remixes for their title song to make as their dancing video, check out Mansae Concert Ver in their Youtube channel.

Another infamous song was Hurricane by Hoshi. It was actually first seen in their One Fine Day *I’m not sure whether it’s the Yeoseodo or Japan series* as a joke by Hoshi to Wonwoo. Suddenly, during Diamond Edge, Carats were suprised to see a joke become a reality.

The production of Seventeen’s music are mostly done by Seventeen themselves. Woozi produced their songs single-handed, with the help of their favorite Bumzu hyung. ever heard Downpour by IOI and Happy For Now by Baekho of NU’EST? you cried? yeah, blame Woozi. besides producing and making music, he also create lyrics. those a-shockingly meaningful lyrics especially for those suckers for meanigful things, Woozi gotcha.

Rappers write their own raps in all of their song, there will be at least one or two members for each song. because they have Joshua and Vernon, their lyrics also contain english words and also good grammars hoot, I mean you know how sometimes English words makes no sense in some Korean song, but seventeen done it pretty well heee 

Do you ever watch Don’t Wanna Cry dance ver? or Thanks choreograpy? Amazed by it? Say thanks to Hoshi and Dino. again, staying true to their name, Performance team Hoshi and Dino really outdone themselves. They choreograph their own dance routines, with the help of their dance instructor, creating a masterpiece, just watch Lilli Yabbay or Thanks. I personally loved the part in Thanks where they lifted our Boo hehhe. Also, all 13 members are so good in dancing! KIM MINGYU! Breaking the myth of tall guys can’t dance. He’s so  SHOCKINGLY HANDSOME WHILE DANCING.

but i’m still mad the fact the slippery stage of dream concert make him fall on his face :(

nowadays people are hyping about how Seventeen are able to open Cho Yong Pil’s concert, which is an honor, because Cho Yong Pil rarely invite guest. This recognition, after Seventeen won the 3rd part of Immortal Song, the legends special, seriously, they’ve got the highest score among all performers and the one and only boy group idol performing. Wow, I’m actually too proud that I couldn’t even express this properly. They even pushed away their schedule to seize the opportunity of meeting the legends.

The recognition they’ve gain today, yesterday and tomorrow. Seventeen is growing.

Another thing I liked about Seventeen is their passion. Seventeen always get to make remix of top songs in the year end music show, including girl songs. Even though it’s a girl songs, they managed to slay it. Even the covers and collabs. No. 1 by Boa, the cover they made at MAMA 2017. The superboy group Pledis combined with NU’EST W, making Heaven in ㄴㅇㅅㅌ and Carats heart. wow, the synchronization is no joke.

as I mention before, I like ballads, soft sweet tunes. So almost all vocal team song, I love all of them. But there’s this one particular song I really like to listen, this is the song, proves, that all members can sing. You just have to listen to them yourself. no, I’m not lying. just go and listen to it.

Today’s recognition, I think it’s a great deal, a great comeback after their struggle during predebut. Title: Dancing With the Wind

Pairing: Changmin x gender neutral!reader

Changmin doesn’t know when his consciousness formed, when flyaway air swept into one of the shifting aurae, the wind spirits who travel the earth. He knows he must be old - he’s seen the desert grow over centuries, seen vegetation cover parts of the sand - but none of that really matters to him. Because for Changmin, his time on Mother Earth began the moment he met you.

Your spirit formed after his, as bits of the Mother’s swirling grains of sandy consciousness coalesced into a free soul. It must not have been too long after him, Changmin thinks, because you were one of the first sand spirits, one of the first sandstorms that swept across the emerging desert. 

He doesn’t remember much before you - shifting breezes, occasionally bringing a few stormy gales, but he drifted, mostly, flying with the other aurae wherever they decided to go. The moment he met you, his winds stopped, for the first time since he formed. Your sand grains, too, fell to the earth, still and silent for the first (and only) time he’s ever seen. 

Because there was a warmth, suddenly, a warmth in the depths of his consciousness that spread through every breeze his spirit created. He had always felt - well, not cold exactly, something less intense - but you brought something new to his soul, something that made him want more.

He tentatively swept a few grains of your sand into his wind, cautiously feeling your consciousness dancing on the breeze. Slowly, your grains began to swirl, to shift with his wind. 

His winds whirled with your sand, spinning faster and faster, until Changmin was sure all of the spirits of the world could hear his laughter in the wind and your shouts in the skies. And when the two of you coalesced, shifting into your physical forms, Changmin could only stare in disbelief at your raw beauty. 

It’s been millennia, at least, maybe even eons. Some of the other spirits he knew have also found partners, though never for more than a few centuries. Changmin sometimes wonders if he’s strange or unnatural to have felt this burning love for you for so many millennia, but then he remembers that even if it’s strange, it doesn’t matter. There could never be a single spirit, he thinks, that he loves more than you.

So even as spirits form and others die, Changmin still stays strong, buoyed by your eternal love dancing on the breezes of his wind. His giggles echo in his gales, twined with the sparkling laughs of your sand grains swirling in the sky. Wherever he goes, Changmin knows, you will follow, and wherever you go, he will follow. It’s an eternal dance of burning love whirling on the wind, and Changmin will be happy to continue its steps for the rest of his life. 

Come with me? he sometimes asks, shifting slightly in the air. 

The answer is immediate. Always.

Changmin knows a day will come when his consciousness will die, when his spirit fades away. He knows you will dissipate too, soul returning once more to the Mother Earth. But he also knows that your love will remain eternal, even if the spirits who once carried it have been lost to time. Your kisses will remain in the wind, gentle touches stored in the sand. Somehow, someway, Changmin knows with certainty, you’ll meet once more. 

And then you’ll dance again.

Here is my opinion on the groups you mentioned: Let me start with NCT. I absolutely loved Baby don't stop! Such a catchy song and SO MANY VISUALS! I also enjoyed some NCT dream songs, but I can see why you prefer NCT. MONSTA X HAS THE DOPEST DEBUT SONG. I STILL GO CRAZY WHENEVER I HEAR IT. I wish to have a friend like Seungkwan one day. Imagine being sassed by him. Ultimate life goals. I love every single member and can't chose a bias! TIME FOR THE GOOD STUFF: Weki Meki's Lalala is such a bop! They have that innocent look that I really adore. I FELL INTO THE BLACKPINK TRAP AND THAT HOLE IS QUITE DEEP. Loona is another awesome group. Have you seen one yet? They are so Beautiful and feeding their fans well. So far, I've loved every single group you've recommended. The only song I wasn't feeling was gi-dle's Latata. I don't know what it is but the other one's were better. Yet I really enjoyed their fake love cover. Once again, beautiful and immensely talented women whom I'll still support because they just deserve it. Somehow Black dress by CLC is the song of my life. (4/?)

It's such an empowering song! I can see a lot of women listening to this and finding encouragement in being boss ass independent bitches. CLC is another one of my favs for sure! Lastly, Triple H. 365 Fresh gives me Bruno Mars vibes and I'm loving it. Another bop added to the already full list of bops. I found so many great songs, thank you so much for your recs! wow... i listen to not kpop sometimes its a surprise...but paramore was my Everything in middle school so i guess it just fits 4 me to have them on here... also they decided to come out with hard times when i was in a hard time so god bless u haley..... and the last chorus goes hard. anyways majority of the songs are good, but the others fall a little short for me, which is why it’s 9th.. still a solid album regardless of the songs i dont really like !!
