Do you got any recommendations for Cephalopod research sights? I been trying to make some Xenos but it's incredibly hard to find anything that reliable on Google that isn't a scientific document that I can barely understand and spend hours googling word definitions. Don't even bother with trying to Google squids as you will only get octopods.
Unfortunately I don't really... I would recommended Tree of Life Web Project A.K.A tolweb which is what i used before, but in recent years a lot of the pages on that site have gone under and stopped working. That being said for the parts of the site that DO still work, it has very good documentation of different cephalopod species, often down to microscope images of sucker denticulation and photophore placement. It's what I've used in the past when looking up details on different species, but as I said a lot of the site has been falling apart recently so it's a bit limited in what you can access now. Not sure what's up with that but it is also an old site. So I WILL still recommend tolweb but it's half-dead lol
As for other research I have no clue, I just google vague things until I stumble upon a research paper that looks like it MIGHT have an answer and trudge through terminology my brain is tuning out hoping I understand enough to find answers to what I was looking for lol. But oftentimes search engines will give you absolutely NOTHING that you're looking for in favor of giving you shallow often poorly sourced web articles, especially if you're looking for information on something like the blue-ringed octopus that has 1 notable trait that every Big Clicks Site will yell about in 0 depth.

Trigun Bookclub: Trigun Vol.1-2, Chapter #09
previous | all | next
Iâm doing a deep-read of the Japanese original print (reread) and Overhaul 1.0 (first read) side-by-side, and writing down everything I notice from small details, version differences, translation differences, etc.
The volume numbers will be mismatched for most of the remainder of Trigun, since the Japanese first edition is 3 volumes while all later versions are 2 volumes.
As always, here are the non-analysis panels:
And the rest is under the cut.
[link for if the images arenât in horizontal rows]
To start off, we have Meryl talking about buying designer handbags. This part was very confusing in Japanese because even though I could recognize Prada, the two other brands she named were completely bogus to me. What the hell are ăšăïżœïżœ(Epipi) and NCM!?
So I asked my mom about it last night (she knows a decent amount about brands popular in the 90's, since she was still living in Japan back then). She was also stumped for a bit, but after a while she asked to see the way "Prada" looked. She noticed that it was written like ăă©ăŒă(purÄda) rather than the correct ăă©ă(purada). I didn't notice because I don't know shit about fashion... but she suggested that maybe all of these were slight variations on real-life brands. She said that NCM is probably based on MCM Worldwide.
Epipi probably took a solid 20 minutes to figure out.... We were naming every brand on earth searching for anything that could even vaguely sound like "epipi." Right when we nearly ran out of ideas, she thought of googling just part of the name, like "epi brand," and voila, apparently there's a line of Louis Vuitton leather called Epi.
Epipi (and brain soup) is an inside joke between us now btw.
The chapter cover!! Everyone here is so damn cute... also I'm sitting almost exactly how Vash is right now.
This is the second appearance of Vash's shades. I can't see the details, but the design looks the same as the one before.
I'd completely forgotten how tiny Kaito is??? Literally half of Vash's height.
Vash's response to Kaito's insult(?) isăăćăăăăȘăă ăâŠăand is something more like "C'mon, man..." or "Seriously?"
big eyes vash big eyes vash i want to scoop him up and put him in a jar with holes in the lid
It's so cool how Vash immediately understands exactly what's going on through what he's overhearing, thanks to his childhood on the spaceship and his time at Home. How can this man not drive
I think the engineer is talking about the Plant here, so it should be "The shock could kill it." (although the Plant dying would also kill everyone else. ykwim)
Didn't know that guy was called a helmsman.... In Japanese, the word for helmsman, æè”æ (the scan is super blurry and looked like 棫 but the correct word is æ) was written as ă©ă€ă(raitsu) with æè”æ written in the ruby. Maybe raitsu was the name of the helmsman? Or it might be something else boat-related that I don't know about.
Vash's silent reaction to Kaito's words say a lot. This behavior is nearly identical to Vash's (again, more so in Maximum, after Vash remembers the events of July and gets even more depressed). He understands Kaito's pain and guilt, and worries for him, but he also can't help but see himself in the boy... however he feels about that. This gets a bit more into theory territory, but I think Vash doesn't want Kaito to turn out like himself. Of course, he wants everyone to strive for peace; he wants people to be like that part of himself, in that regard. However, he doesn't want people to act self-destructive like he is. One obvious reason is that Vash genuinely doesn't want Kaito to be hurt, especially when he believes that people always deserve to start over and live a happy life.... But another underlying reason could be that he doesn't like percieving parts of himself in others, out of self-hatred.
One of my favorite lines ever!!!!! (has 50 favorites)(its not my fault trigun/trimax is so constantly banger) While humans views the Plant as a tool and an incomprehensible being, Vash simply views them as just a girl that needs calming downâ"people" just like him and everyone else. He has a familial relationship with every Plant, which I absolutely adore. And!!! I will expand on this bit in the next(I think) arc and beyond, or maybe even make a separate post!!! I have so many thoughts surrounding this and it's a core theme to Trigun as a whole.
Noting some SFX since some non-Japanese readers may not have noticed - the plant is making a high-pitched scream from here on. Also, Kaito says that it's a "voice," not a "sound."
More Plant object-person dichotomy!! This unfortunately gets lost in translation, but it's a very neat storytelling trick. In Japanese, This is written in an interesting way:ăăă©ăłăââăăăăŻăé ăă ăăăăźă with ăăź(mono) having dots above them (in this context acting like italicization for emphasis in English). Usually, this ăăź would be more specific. There's ç©(mono) which means "object" or "thing," and there's è
(mono) which means "person" or sometimes "being." The narrator intentionally leaves the identity of the Plant vague. Again, in humans' eyes, Plants are machines of production. In Vash's eyes, Plants are full-fledged people.
I would write that line closer to the original format, with quotes around "creates" and leaving it at that.
A longer translation correctionâjust going to transcribe it here:
æ°Ž 玫ć€ç· é
žçŽ ăăăŠćŸźé»ćăäžăăäșă«ăăŁăŠç©çæłćăè¶
ăăăççŁă掻ćăèĄăçäœă·ăčăă ă§ăă They are organic systems that, when fed water, ultraviolet light, oxygen, and a bit of electricity, can "produce" things in a process that surpasses all physical law.
The sound effect here is loud footsteps on metal. I think it's neat that Nightow showed Vash running up the stairs with just onomatopoea and a shot of the stairs.
In Japanese, Vash says that he's counting on/leaving the rest up to the engineers/the others on the ship, after telling them to deal with it.
Again, Vash considers the Plant his family, a sister. He is talking directly to them and treating them with respect. The word used here is actually ć
ćŒ(kyoudai), which means "brother(s)"/olderbrother-youngerbrother, where in this situation with a brother and sister of unspecified age/order it would usually just be ăăăă ă(kyoudai, spelled out)... it may be that back then, people didn't really specify or mix-and-match sibling gender (ć§ćŒ ć
ćŠč etc) in writing as much as we do now.
The first appearance of feathers on Vash!! During my first read, I was absolutely mesmerized by this page. Mannnnnnn the angel imagery....
Also bonus reaction from my dear friend from my Instagram liveposting back in April (yeah. my first read was only a bit over 2 months ago). booty CRACK
This is the "beeeeeeep" sound of a flatlining heart monitor. Until now I thought it was more of an imaginary thing to show that their hearts have stopped, but I just realized that it may also be a real sound of the Plant's vital monitors. Could be either, to be honest.
Apparently "yards" are normal? In Japanese it's written as ă€ăŒăș(yÄdzu, yards) instead of what would regularly be just ă€ăŒă(yÄdo, yard), so that may be the subtle miles-iles change?
This line would be "The pipes are stuck! They won't even budge!"
And the SFX here is a distant chattering and cheering crowd.
And here is the last scene, with Kaito humming Rem's favorite song. Idk, this just gives me a raw emotional reaction... I can't really analyze it lol. Rejoicing that you've survived through hardship. That while things still aren't perfect, this imminent danger has passed. That you still get to enjoy being alive. The same song of humanity still sang. Something something....
Anyways thatâs it for Chapter #09! As always, the Japanese annotations are in the reblogs.
#mother comes to the rescue once again#'how can this man not drive' i say...not having a drivers license#actually yknow its the passenger princess swag. chauffeur for me boy#also finally installed a browser extension to store my em dashes and macrons đȘ <-was googling it every time until now#ik alt codes exist but they dont work on my puter. probably bc its bootcamp (windows on a mac)#we should probably use the macos side more buttttttt all our files and games are on windows :/#trigunbookclub#trigun annotation#trigun#trigun manga#hopeposting...(clenches fist)#ok time to cry myself to sleep now goodnight yall i hope the best for each and every one of yougjhfkhbm....(sobbing)#like actually im tearing up typign this at 1:30am#anyways anyways nighty night

Oh. Look. It's once again been a hot minute since I've written anything!... Okay, that's a lie.
I write, then I let it sit... Usually decide it's too bleedin' cringey, and I delete the Tumblr post. But not today!
Today, I'm just going off about my special interests. Today, the brain is on ships, and the sheer sizes of them. As some ass-coverage: All images are snagged from Google. They are not accuracy checked. They belong to their respective owners, not me. Do not take my words as fact, my research has been shallow, casual, and for fun.
My housemate and I got a bit curious, as we're both big Titanic enthusiasts and plane enthusiasts- How big IS the Boeing 777x compared to the Titanic?
It was just one of those questions that popped up out of nowhere. Being an impoverished person my whole life, I've pretty much only traveled a few states outside of my landlocked rocky mountain home. The closest I've been to the ocean is Galveston, Texas. Save for a maybe 2 hour beach visit when I visited a former partner in Florida. That said, I've never seen a full size ship.
Boats? Ferries? Sure! My grandfather used to go fishing on Lake Conroe in Texas on the prettiest bass boat I know. (I may be a bit biased, hah.) But while I've never seen a full size ship in person, I've flown about... four times? So I've seen a plane up close. I think the first one I flew on was an A320, but for the love o' gigantic buffets, don't quote me on that. (Oh. Did I mention I'm waiting on dinner while writing this? A buffet sounds delightful. It has ZERO to do with this post. But maybe it'll remind someone who hasn't eaten to eat?... GO EAT.)
.... So, planes are pretty big. That much, I can tell you. But I was plenty surprised to see they're not even half of the Olympic class. Insert my first snagged photo from a shallow Google search!
On my housemate and I's curiosity search, we settled on this one. There's dome size differences between a 777x and an A380, but it was one of those instances of "Close enough."
Now, to preface this question, yes, I understand buoyancy, aero/hydrodynamic shapes. I'm no engineer, and I'm REALLY not about to go into the deep science and numbers here. Not today. I have looked up how ships float, how planes fly... All while being super heavy, bulky. And loaded with people/cargo. But despite knowing this stuff, it still feckin' BAFFLES me how a big tub of steel floats. Or something weighing multiple fucktons can fly like it weighs nothing.
Even with a general understanding of the design and engineering, the science, even... It still just makes me stop and think about that. Humans are impressive.
Oh. And if you think the Olympic class looks huge compared to an A380, the Olympic trio are only about 1/3 the size of the Costa Concordia (Brief rundown: Cruise ship that hit rocks and sunk partially in 2012. I know there's some drama surrounding this creator right now, but if you're of the easily distracted mind and need some humor to keep things interesting like myself, Internet Historian on YouTube has a decent documentary on her that was quite entertaining. )
No, seriously, I just snagged this off Google, it's not mine. Don't come at me. I just find it fascinating. We build these huge, heavy things and yet they float or fly like it's nothing. Just... What are the chances? That's so cool!
Have a lil 747 happily wagging it's tail as my thanks for bearing with my bumbling âĄ
#my thougts#ramblings#boeing 777x#titanic#olympic class#ships#icon of the seas#costa concordia#tw cursing#autism#bumbling#special interest#credit to the person who made this

Good morning team! Itâs time I address the elephant (Daniel Jackson) in the post with us. I have received a few comments, chief among them being prev, bringing to my attention that the above cursed image of Daniel Jackson is AI generated. Being as I pride myself on keeping the art of human generated bad memes alive, I feel itâs important that I address this and explain myself. I am doing this out of my own volition because oh my fucking god dude I posted ai generated Daniel Jackson and I have to see it anytime I get a notification and I feel like a Facebook boomer rn.
Thank you prev and all the other people who brought this to my attention I love you all so much and together we can stop our favourite memers and mutuals from posting AI stuff. I will break this down piece by piece so I donât miss anything.
Explanation
As we all know, I make these high-quality posts from my state of the art office (my toilet) in my fortified compound (my family acreage) in rural Canada with state of the art editing software (Instagram stories and occasionally affinity photo). Regrettably, due to the nature of my blog being goofy, and my goofiest thoughts occurring around 3am, this has resulted in going on google and finding pictures and images at 3am when I needed to be up at 6am. Being as I was half asleep and that Google now has AI generated images on the first page of search results now, my usually less than stringent quality control missed how fucking bizarre and unsettling that picture is. My fuck up, I will make sure it doesnât happen again. If it does, we can all throw rotting produce at me in the village square.
Why Iâm addressing this
Brother, I fucking hate AI. Iâve already lost one job (content writing) to AI, I will not have it make me lose another (being the shitty meme plug for a niche sci fi show). While AI has its place (writing cover letters to be read by another AI), I donât think we should have let finance bros touch it with a ten foot pole. Since AI has become the hot button thing lately, with known shitty company Adobe now having AI learning from userâs Creative Cloud files, I have decided to be an old man yelling at clouds over it. AI also, for me personally, makes me extremely fucking lazy and Iâm already an object at rest, so AI makes me practically catatonic. The reality of living in a future where machine learning can write fan fiction for you, is that if you donât lose your brain, it atrophies and bounces around your head like a tumble weed. I hate to prove Aristotle right about anything, but he kinda ate with the whole knowledge and self-actualization thing.
Actions Iâm taking
I will not be removing the unsettling uncanny valley Daniel Jackson because: a) if I were to edit the post and take out AI Boy, his corpse would still be dragged around in a victory lap depending on which version is reblogged, and b) it should bring you all comfort to know that this post jumpscares me anytime it comes up in my notifications. With that said, in the future, in order to limit the public humiliation that comes with accidentally posting AI bullshit, Iâll stick to home grown pictures and images from the personal archive. At the very least, Iâll use a search engine that can keep AI off my fucking lawn and in turn off of your lawn.
If I do it again
If this happens again, rest assured itâs by accident. You are always encouraged to tell me if one of my posts contains AI images. Thank you to everyone who brought this up this time because keeping AI bullshit off of our collective lawns is a team effort. I appreciate how nice everyone was in bringing this up and I love you all so so so much. Like I said, Iâm addressing this formally so that thereâs no ambiguity on my stance, not because I felt any sort of pressure. I think itâs important to extend people the same courtesy they extend me when something like this is brought up and take the effort to explain myself and the actions Iâm taking moving forward. If you think thatâs unnecessary, then I respect that, but I feel it is necessary to own up to my own fuck ups when theyâre pointed out so kindly đđ„°
Hehehe that is SO me when I hehehehe
#prev I love you so so so much thank you for pointing this out#also everyone else who pointed it out I also love you so so so much#I chose prev as they were the first person to point it out I believe and I just needed a touch stone for an RB to explain myself#not a bad imagine

Reflection and Evaluation 02
I would like to explain the feedback situation this semester. I usually provide feedback to the teacher every Thursday and record and modify each feedback. For regular self-assessment, I think there are some things. Whenever a small stage is completed, I will make a simple summary. In the bus simulator project, I excessively added many elements without fully considering time and experience. Therefore, when making plans, all possible things should be taken into account. Every time I give feedback to the teacher, I also add some questions, including technical issues. Academic and academic issues. I also hope to achieve relatively stable results in the final stage of the project and hope to break through myself.
I have summarized the errors that I frequently encounter. The first issue to consider when creating a scene is the proportion. The ratio of buildings to people needs to be constantly compared. The second is the reference images. Generally, I have found many references, but some of them are not completely suitable and need to be modified, which increases the work time. Thirdly, if there are problems with scene debugging and I don't know how to fix the deadlock, the solution is to search for answers on Google and YouTube step by step. Fourthly, making backups is a relatively critical aspect of the project that I did not prepare for until halfway through the project. This can ensure that the project can be remedied in case of damage.
For the mentality of learning motivation, I feel that my mentality has been relatively stable during this period. I basically did not go out for activities in the third semester and devoted all my energy to projects. I believe I am maintaining my interest and enthusiasm to complete this project. Sometimes when encountering very complex problems, the pressure caused by it can be quite significant. At other times, I feel conflicted. My solution is to go for a walk or eat something to keep my brain fully rested.
I would like to review the new skills I have learned, starting with the modelling tools of UE5. In the new project, I feel that I can master these tools more proficiently. The second is OSL shader, which can be written to quickly apply shaders to the scene, achieving the best results. The third one is the blueprint of the bus simulator. Although there was not enough time to conduct a comprehensive exploration of the bus, I used a car instead of the bus to create the blueprint, thus achieving the acceleration, deceleration, turning, parking and other actions of the car. The fifth is the rainwater sticker material. Thank you very much to Cem Tezcan, the author of the third-party asset. This is really a great tool, I decomposed its shader to explore. Although I couldn't completely replicate his shader, I learned a basic rainwater decal material method from him.
Conclusion
This project has deeply touched me in my heart. Especially this way of thinking is very habitual, which has taught me a lot. I hope to gain more experience and knowledge in my future job position. My next stage should be either finding a job or continuing to learn skills. I should make the right choice.

The Psychology Behind Negative Reviews: How Google My Business Review Removal Can Mitigate Damage
In the digital age, online reviews wield immense power, shaping consumer decisions and business reputations alike. Whether browsing for a cozy café or selecting a reliable service provider, prospective customers often turn to platforms like Google My Business (GMB) to gauge the quality and credibility of businesses. However, the impact of negative reviews can be profound, potentially deterring potential clients and tarnishing a company's image. Understanding the psychology behind negative reviews and employing strategies like Google My Business review removal can be crucial in mitigating their damaging effects.
The Psychology of Negative Reviews
Negative reviews possess a persuasive influence due to various psychological factors:
Social Proof: People tend to rely on the experiences and opinions of others, especially in uncertain situations. Negative reviews, therefore, serve as a form of social proof, signaling to potential customers that a business may not deliver satisfactory products or services.
Negativity Bias: Human brains are wired to pay more attention to negative information than positive ones. A single negative review can outweigh several positive ones, leaving a lasting impression on the reader's mind.
Trust Erosion: Negative reviews erode trust in a brand or business, highlighting potential shortcomings and instilling doubt in the minds of consumers. Once trust is compromised, it's challenging to regain.
Emotional Impact: Negative reviews evoke strong emotions, ranging from disappointment to anger. These emotions can influence decision-making, prompting potential customers to steer clear of a business associated with negative experiences.
The Impact of Negative Reviews on Businesses
For businesses, negative reviews can have far-reaching consequences:
Reputation Damage: How to remove bad reviews from google, affecting its credibility and trustworthiness in the eyes of consumers.
Loss of Customers: Potential customers are likely to choose competitors over a business with negative reviews, resulting in lost revenue and market share.
SEO Impact: Negative reviews can impact a business's search engine rankings, as search algorithms consider factors like review ratings and sentiment when determining a website's relevance and authority.
Employee Morale: Negative reviews can also affect employee morale, especially if they are unfairly critical or demoralizing. This, in turn, can impact productivity and overall business performance.
Strategies for Mitigating the Impact of Negative Reviews
While negative reviews can be detrimental, businesses can take proactive steps to mitigate their effects:
Respond Promptly and Professionally: Timely and courteous responses to negative reviews demonstrate accountability and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Acknowledge the issue, apologize if necessary, and offer a resolution publicly.
Encourage Positive Reviews: Actively encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews on platforms like Google My Business. Positive reviews can counterbalance negative ones and improve the overall perception of a business.
Address Legitimate Concerns: Take constructive feedback from negative reviews as an opportunity for improvement. Address legitimate concerns raised by customers and implement necessary changes to enhance the customer experience.
Leverage Google My Business Review Removal: In cases where reviews violate Google's policies, businesses can request their removal through the Google My Business platform. This process involves identifying and flagging reviews that contain spam, fake content, or personal attacks.
Google My Business Review Removal: How It Works
Google My Business provides a mechanism for businesses to report and request the removal of reviews that violate its policies. Here's how the process typically works:
Identify Violations: Review each negative review carefully and determine if it violates Google's review policies. Common violations include spam content, fake reviews, inappropriate language, and personal attacks.
Flag the Review: Log in to your Google My Business account, navigate to the Reviews section, and locate the review you wish to report. Click on the flag icon next to the review and follow the prompts to report it to Google.
Provide Evidence: When flagging a review, provide specific evidence or reasons why you believe it violates Google's policies. This may include screenshots, timestamps, or descriptions of the problematic content.
Monitor Progress: After reporting a review, monitor the status of your request through the Google My Business dashboard. Google will investigate the reported review and take appropriate action if it violates its policies.
Appeal if Necessary: If Google does not remove a review that you believe violates its policies, you can appeal the decision through the Google My Business support team. Provide additional evidence or clarification to support your appeal.
Conclusion
Negative reviews can have a significant impact on a business's reputation and bottom line. By understanding the psychology behind negative reviews and employing strategies like Google My Business review removal, businesses can mitigate the damage caused by unfair or inappropriate feedback. Moreover, fostering a culture of transparency, responsiveness, and continuous improvement can help businesses build resilience against the occasional negative review and maintain a positive online reputation in the long run.

idk if itâs the systemic fatphobia, ableism, intersexism, the horrible downfall of googleâs utility as a search engine, or all of the above,
but literally any given part of my body, I can look through hundreds of images in all kinds of searches ranging from âearlobeâ to âfat scrunched up earlobe with creaseâ (for example of how descriptive the searches range) and genuinely can never find someone whose body part that has the traits of mine
genitalia and/or secondary sex characteristics? nope. ears? nope. hands/fingers? nope. skin? nope. toes? nope. moles? nope. Almost anything about my body
like thereâs so many parts of my body that are just different from everyone I know, often including my parents and siblings as people who donât share it, so I donât always expect it to be a harmless genetic trait
âask a doctorâ is useless advice. 1) I am already a genuine medical disaster and constantly seeing doctors, running them over appointment time constraints every time, and still not leaving satisfied regarding questions I have about the much more urgent thing the appointment was for. 2) my doctor is 2 hours away by car bc closer doctors genuinely will not even try to treat me anymore. rural healthcare ftw! also canât drive anymore due to health stuff. 3) even my doctor 2 hours away has a tendency to just shrug and say âI havenât seen a [body part] like that before, but it doesnât raise any alarm bellsâ when I DO (rarely) get a chance to slip in one of these questions. 4) I already have to use my patient portal messaging so often already for urgent/new things that like, since heâs part of a big hospital system, all my specialists can see those messages and poke fun at me for using the messaging so much & sometimes even label me a hypochondriac or worse (refusing to take me seriously in suspicion of unnecessary hypochondria &/or munchausens/factitious disorder)
im a biologist (though much more ecology focused) so im not totally out of my realm with my concerns. I know enough to know there is an infinite amount of stuff unknown about the human body. what if some of these weird little quirks about my body are signs of something else that is known, where these signs havenât been documented/proven or are otherwise outside of the knowledge of my providers? what if theyâre signs of something that ISNâT known? this part I could see being labeled as hypochondria at least; however, I am not panicking down this line of thinking often, itâs just a response my brain brings up when I cannot find any information at all supporting whether my various body quirks are normal, safe, common, etc and especially when I donât get taken seriously when I just want a little educated affirmation that my body is safe????
donât even get me started when it comes to people being rude about bodily differences. I typically hide so much of my body to avoid that. im lucky that many of my little quirks can be easily and/or subtly hidden.
idk this is just a rant donât take it too seriously but good lird I am so fucking insecure about my body (not insecure about my weight anymoreâ donât assume weight when I say body pls thanks)
also my dads side of the family idk what happened but his family all have several medical mysteries and unfindable body quirks so some part of me does wonder if thereâs some strange genetic thing going on with his side of the family that just has not been discovered and/or none of our doctors ever even consider it. another annoying part about this is when a doc takes a medical history they rarely ever wanna hear SHIT about anything that isnât firmly diagnosed on paper but w/e

I-
I really wanna type up my thoughts on the situation with Ai. Cause while the damage it is doing to artists both visual and literary is massive and terrifying. It's the least of our concerns if this technology continues to progress the way it is. Things are already bad as it is, but a lot of people are not seeing the depth and full reality of the situation. I already started to have this conversation with one of my really good irl friends over five years ago. Ai has been around for a while. It's not just the chat bots and image generators and I think a lot of people are not understanding that. Saying you are against Ai when you don't know what Ai is, isn't going to help us. If we wanna fight the harm it's doing, we NEED to be educated in full depth. Why and what we wanna stop. How it's harmful, and how we can genuinely combat this. It's what runs Social Media algorithms, the way a lot of Npcs behave in video games, autocorrect, google search or any search engine for that matter, even those silly little twenty question hand held games from the early 2000's. And honestly, so so much more that you cannot begin to fathom how often this technology is actually used.
I don't think that it has to be used in a bad way. But there are a lot of bad people running our society. Selfish people, twisted people. And that's the stance this technology is being created and used from. It's being used to actively harm the masses rather than to give any benefit. The more we use it this way, the more harmful and terrifying it will get. Anyways- these aren't my full thoughts. Not even fucking close. But my brain is running like a little nest of bees. Especially seeing the lack of understanding a lot of people have. Cause it's worse than we think. And just telling people not to use the chatbots isn't going to do much. There are scientists and engineers behind the ones that are really going to end up tearing us all down. Boycotting and avoiding all Ai is impossible in our day and age. Every game, site, and computer based technology is actively teaching it and giving them ways to work with and develop this stuff. We've been in danger of this much longer than most of you realize

Multiple Trains In My Lyme Challenged Brain!!
I will get back to MY Lyme journey for this blog post since I have had multiple trains derailing all over the place in my Lyme challenged brain the past few days. #lymechallenged
But let me start out by telling you that because of my Lyme challenged brain, I have problems thinking of the names of things. For example, at one point in the past several years I was living in my parents basement, which is a whole other story! I was using a small desk fan of my mothers and I broke it. I went upstairs to tell her I broke her fan and would buy her a new one. By the time I got up the stairs, I could not for the life of me think of the word "fan". A simple three letter word that I have used throughout my life. I was telling her that I broke her "thing that spins around and blows air to cool you off." She looked at me like I had lost every last marble left in my head. That was in 2017 or 2018 and it has only continued to get worse. For the past couple of days I have been trying to think of the name of something that I wanted to post on here. I wasn't even sure how to word it so I could Google it. Then I remembered Google Lens. So I drew a quick "sketch" of what it should look like in my mind and used Google Lens to search for the name of it. I am certainly NOT an artist unless I take my time and really concentrate hard! But that is neither here nor there. This is my drawing (it is perfectly okay to laughâŠI have been cackling all morning!)
Let me tell you that Google Lens came up with everything except what it actually was. Google came up with a propeller, a windmill, a clock, a wagon wheel, a fan, a bunch of kids drawings of various things, the sun, and the three that I couldn't help but laugh at: a snail, "problems in the prison", and my personal favorite⊠a Volkswagen. HUH??? A Volkswagen??? So how did I finally figure out what word it was I was looking for? When my kids were young, they used to watch Thomas the Tank Engine and my goofy brain could remember that show had what I was looking for in just about every episode I had to endure back then. So over to YouTube to search for Thomas episodes. The first two episodes I watched were no help, the third and fourth ones had the thing in it but did not say the name of it. I was in no mood to watch any more of Thomas so back to Google but this time with a phrase I could use. Kind of. I typed in "round things that switch train tracks." Some answers came up that weren't much help in the title and I didn't want to read the articles so I switched the results to images. BINGO!! There it was! Here is a screenshot of the search result. (Don't do like I would do and try to click on the VISIT button in THIS photo because it won't work. đ)
I clicked on one of the photos and there was the name of what I have been searching for in my brain for so long!! Railway turntable and wheelhouse!! Why has this been so important for me? Because for years when one of my trains derail, I see an image of a turntable and roundhouse in my brain. I don't see an image of a train actually derailing or wrecking. I was talking to my sister about it earlier and she said when her train derails she envisions a train flying off the side of a mountain. Most "normal" brains probably would imagine an actual train wreck when they think of a train derailing. Not my Lyme infested brain! And then it dawned on me! My brain IS the roundhouse and the turntable because I have more than a few trains!! And then I came across the next photo which my roundhouse, Lyme challenged brain related to on so many levelsâŠ
Just imagine trains colliding on these tracks because someone in the roundhouse control booth didn't hit the correct switch. THAT IS MY BRAIN WITH LYME DISEASE! And when I said at the beginning of this post that I was going to get back to MY Lyme journey for this postâŠobviously that train derailed too. But no one can imagine the joy I feel right now because I feel I have FINALLY been able to describe what I see when my trains derail. And just imagine that ALL of this was caused from a tick bite so many years ago.
Until next time, Kelly #lymechallenged

Is Marketing with Video Right for My Business? Hereâs Why the Answer is Yes!
In the modern world of business, where attention spans are shorter than ever, video marketing is a game-changer. You've probably heard this buzzing around the digital space, and maybe you're wondering, "Is video marketing really worth it for my business?" Spoiler alert: The answer is almost always a resounding YES! Hereâs why.
1. Video Marketing Grabs AttentionâFast
Letâs face it, we live in a scroll-happy world. Peopleâs thumbs are constantly flicking through endless streams of content, and unless youâve got something eye-catching, your business message might be lost in the noise. This is where video shines. Studies show that videos are the most likely content to stop a scrolling thumb dead in its tracks.
Whether itâs a vibrant explainer video, a slick product demo, or a relatable customer testimonial, videos grab attention immediately. Why? Because weâre visual creatures. Our brains process visuals 60,000 times faster than text! So, if you want to deliver a compelling message in seconds, video is your best bet.
2. Videos Build Trust and Credibility
People want to do business with brands they trust, and guess what? Video helps you build that trust. Why? Itâs more personal. Videos give your brand a human face and voice, which helps build a connection with your audience. Customers can see and hear your message, making it more relatable and trustworthy.
For example, imagine potential customers watching a behind-the-scenes video of your team working on a project. This pulls back the curtain, showing authenticity, and making your business feel more real and relatable.
3. Videos Boost Engagement Like Crazy
Social media algorithms love videos. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok prioritize video content because they know people engage with it more. Videos drive more comments, likes, shares, and conversations than any other type of content. This means your brandâs message is not only seen but spread like wildfire across networks.
In fact, research shows that video posts on social media generate 48% more views than posts with just images. If youâre not utilizing video, youâre leaving engagement on the table!
4. Marketing Videos Improve Your SEO
If youâre looking to rank higher on Google, video can give you that extra push. Google owns YouTube, which means incorporating video into your strategy can do wonders for your search rankings. A well-optimized video on your site (or even better, a YouTube channel) increases the chances of your business showing up on that coveted first page.
And itâs not just about being found on Google. Videos also keep visitors on your site longer. This longer âdwell timeâ signals to search engines that your content is valuable and relevant, giving you a better chance to climb the search results ladder.
5. Convey Complex Information Quickly
Explaining a complicated product or service can feel like a daunting task, especially in a crowded digital marketplace. But video has the power to break it all down quickly and clearly. Whether itâs a product demo, an explainer video, or a step-by-step tutorial, video simplifies complexity.
People are more likely to understand and remember information presented in a visual format. So, if your business sells something that needs explaining, video is your secret weapon to making the complex seem simple.
6. Videos Increase Conversions
Letâs talk about the bottom line: money. At the end of the day, video isnât just about engagement or viewsâitâs about driving conversions. Video can increase conversion rates on landing pages by 80% or more. Thatâs a jaw-dropping number, right?
How does it work? By appealing to emotions. Videos can evoke feelings like excitement, urgency, or trust, which encourages viewers to take action. Whether itâs signing up for a newsletter, purchasing a product, or booking a consultation, video helps nudge customers through the decision-making process.
7. Videos Are Versatile
One of the best things about video marketing is its flexibility. You can create different types of videos depending on your business goals:
Brand Awareness: Showcase your brandâs story and mission in a quick, engaging format.
Product Demonstrations: Highlight the features and benefits of your products in action.
Customer Testimonials: Build credibility by showing real customers talking about how great your business is.
Tutorials: Educate your audience on how to use your products or services, establishing your business as an industry leader.
The beauty of video is that you can use it across multiple channelsâyour website, social media, email campaigns, paid ads, and even in presentations. Itâs the marketing tool that keeps on giving.
8. Mobile Users Love Video
Mobile isnât the future; itâs the now. More than 70% of all online video views happen on mobile devices. If your audience is constantly on their phones (hint: they are), video is the format they want to consume.
Short, snappy videos are especially effective on mobile, where users are looking for quick entertainment or information. This aligns perfectly with modern user behavior, giving your business an edge in reaching todayâs mobile-first consumers.
9. Stay Competitive
Letâs be realâyour competitors are probably already using video. In fact, a staggering 86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, according to Wyzowlâs State of Video Marketing report. If youâre not jumping on this trend, youâre at risk of falling behind.
But hereâs the good news: Thereâs still plenty of room to stand out! With the right approach, you can produce videos that are unique, creative, and true to your brand, putting you miles ahead of the competition.
10. Video is More Affordable Than Ever
Gone are the days when producing a high-quality video required a massive budget. Today, video marketing is more affordable than ever. With advances in technology and a range of video production services (including ones tailored for businesses like yours), creating polished, professional videos doesnât have to break the bank.
From animated explainers to live-action shoots, thereâs a solution that fits your budget and needs. And when you consider the return on investment, itâs clear that video marketing offers serious bang for your buck.
So, Is Video Marketing Right for Your Business?
In a word: Yes. Whether youâre a small local business or a large corporation, video marketing is a versatile, engaging, and effective tool to grow your brand. It grabs attention, builds trust, boosts engagement, and most importantly, drives conversions.
Still unsure? Start small. Test the waters with a single video and see how your audience responds. Once you see the results (hint: theyâll be good), youâll wonder why you didnât jump on the video bandwagon sooner.
Ready to take the plunge? Letâs get rolling! Your audience is waiting, and they want video.
Now is the time to invest in video marketing. If you're unsure where to start or need help creating videos that truly stand out, our video production team at New World Productions is here to help! Let's bring your vision to life and take your marketing to the next level.

Remember (Bucky Barnes)
Summary: Bucky doesn't remember much but he remembers blond-haired, blue-eyed man.
Words:Â 1.3K
Bucky doesn't remember much.
He remembers what he did yesterday. And the day before. A few weeks back too and how he pulled an unconscious blond man away from certain death in the icy river. He doesn't remember why he felt inclined to save the slightly familiar stranger's life and flee to another continent afterwards, but he remembers the feeling of doing the right thing. Disobeying.
Still, he's bitten his nails down to the plate while sitting amongst rattling barrels of barley and wheat, nervously awaiting orders for what to do now that he is across the ocean - but the orders never come. He is a free man. He can do whatever he wants, he reminds himself and almost cries at the thought. He's not sure he likes it yet.
Thankfully, he is blissfully distracted when the freight train's rumbling engines come to a definitive halt, and he sees a sign in neat letters of some European city he's not sure he's ever heard of before. Bucuresti.
He traces the cursive letters with his eyes and hears the beautiful symphony of syllables when the conductor on the other side of the platform rolls it off her tongue. Bucuresti. Something about it emits peace, so without giving it a second thought, Bucky jumps out from his hiding place behind the barrels, tucks away his metal fingers in his pocket, and blends in with the masses of the city.
He keeps to himself while he walks around. He sleeps on benches, in parks, on dirty tiles in subway stations - but he likes the city. For the first few days, Bucky thinks it's because of the rest squeezed in between Bucu- and -i, but suddenly, foreign syllables spill automatically over his tongue and the sweet Romanian grandmother who is subletting a dingy apartment understands him when he in perfect Romanian asks for full discretion.
"I never rat on my own pack, fiul meu," she pats his cheek as if he is one of them. Calls him my son as if she trusts him with her life.
...Is he Romanian? Is that why Bucuresti seems to calm him? He doesn't feel Romanian - he feels more like a tourist, an intruder, someone who doesn't belong - not like someone's fiul.
So he continues his voluntary isolation while searching for answers.
So far, he's done everything he can think of. Yoga. Meditation. Eating the right things; plums, green beans, gagging on pineapple that he realises he hates. Nothing jogs his memory from before the train ride in and a vague memory of being called Soldat. Everything else is blank - well apart from the blond-haired, blue-eyed man from the river. The image of him has edged itself into Bucky's brain and it is driving him insane! He can't let go of the thought that maybe blond man holds the key to his past.
Cross-legged and desperate for answers, Bucky sits in the middle of his one-bedroom apartment while he tries to block out the musky smell of moulded wallpaper as he racks his brain for information on who he is. He sweats, and he grunts, and he gets so annoyed when everything remains blank that he yanks the elastic band out of the stupid bun on top of his head before he stops. Focuses on blending in instead, hoping to dear God that his brain will play along later.
He does what the people around him are doing. Buys a phone. Learns the internet. Meditates. Eats. Sleeps. Repeats. Googles "blond man, blue suit". "Man with star on chest". "Handsome blond". No result.
He knows he's seen him before. He knows!
"Come on, remember" he groans at night and squeezes his eyes shut. Presses in on his eyeballs so hard that he's kaleidoscoping. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes, he gets titbits, small glimpses of what he should remember. Mud. Gashing wounds. Harsh commandoes while his brain is being fried. Pliers. He tries to focus on the other stuff though. The pleasant stuff. Blond hair and blue eyes.
"Remember!" He hisses at himself, "Remember! Come on, Bucky!" It shoots out of him, and he freezes.
His eyes grow wide.
...Bucky?
Bucky?!
His name is Bucky!!! He lets his hands fall to his sides, stops the aggravating kaleidoscope while whispering to himself, "Bucky...". It sounds familiar, like the name of a long-lost lover. His name is Bucky - but that's not all though, is it? It doesn't seem like a first name, so he presses in on his eyeballs again and wrenches his brain. Waits for the other shoe to drop but falls asleep none the wiser.
It comes back to him a few days later. He's staring at the rusty shower head as he tries to wash off the most recent nightmare when suddenly, he remembers. His name is James! James Buchanan Barnes but he likes to be called Bucky! It sounds English. American. And suddenly, he remembers stars and stripes. His own palm pressed to his chest during the pledge of allegiance. He's American. He grew up in Brooklyn.
Excited that maybe pictures online can help him remember the rest, he jumps out of the shower, leaves wet footprints all over the floor while he marches to his phone and searches for pictures of Brooklyn ten years back. Then twenty. Thirty. Forty. But he has to go back almost seventy years before the pictures on his screen begin to look normal; the women are dressed differently, and the buildings look familiar. He remembers a particular street with a barber and a small store, and when he closes his eyes and goes back in time, blond man sitting by his side. He's smaller, thinner - but it's him. No doubt.
Bucky clicks an article with a vaguely familiar German name in the headline. It instinctively sends shivers down his spine - sounds like something he should remember, and he quickly learns that it is a name of war. That the young men in America were shipped off to the battlefields in Europe. Remembers that he was too. There's a muffled memory of men whispering the twenty-third psalm, of airstrikes and projectiles buried in mud, but when he filters through the rifles and the ear-splitting bombs, ignores the panic they induce, blond man is still by his side. He's bigger then. Taller, burlier, a war machine. Bucky's stomach churns at the thought. He remembers not liking that blond man has been turned into a weapon. He's Bucky's friend, not a symbol.
'That's why I pulled him from the river', Bucky thinks to himself. âWe're friends.â
Friends. He remembers the feeling of having friends.
He's disappointed when the next few weeks bring him nothing. No titbits. No epiphanies. Not even when he's kaleidoscoping or meditating or splashing his face with cold water. But every night, he whispers to himself what he remembers. "My name is Bucky. I am from Brooklyn. I have a friend." But when he wakes up, he's always disappointed that nothing else has come back.
He walks around in a vegetative state for days, frustrated with himself and his inability to just fucking remember - until one day, he wakes up in the middle of the night after that nightmare. The worst of them all: the one with the free fall. Itâs different than usual; this time he isnât alone, his friend is there too. But Bucky is still bathed in sweat and his heart is pounding a mile a minute while the image of blond man's horrified face is etched in his mindâs eye. He can still hear him crying out his name, can see him desperately reach out from the train as Bucky falls into the abyss.
"It's Steve!" Bucky gasps almost as if he is drowning in it.
The name overpowers him, ties him to the bed while the memories flood his senses. Not just memories of death, and war, and the free fall, but of childhood, and love, and friendship.
Suddenly Bucky remembers every line, freckle, and wrinkle on his friend's face. Remembers his laugh, his scent, his courage, and the way the two of them were inseparable even after he became Captain America. "It's Steve," Bucky repeats and hears how a small, relieved chuckle escapes his struggling lungs amidst all the chaos. He can feel the tears well in his eyes. Tears of happiness and calmness because suddenly he remembers everything; who he is, what happened to him, but most importantly, he remembers Steve. His best friend, his companion, his Stevie.
"Blond man's name is Steve!" he laughs and reminisces who they used to be.

being stupid at 3am
-> feat. oikawa, kuroo, bokuto and bonus. tsukishima
word count: 800
genre: fluff, crack-ishhh
no bc these are all actual conversations ive had with myself at 3am HEHDHD
"Mmm, do jellyfish have brains?" you asked, your eyes spaced out as you spoke your thoughts aloud. It was a genuine question, and you needed an answer.
"Wha-" You saw Oikawa, who was lying down next to you, turn to face you in your peripheral.
"Y'know, they're all clear and stuff." Your eyes met his. "Where's their brain?"
"Wait. Y/N." Suddenly he was wide awake, and he bolted upright, reaching for his phone. He opened up Google on his phone, his fingers typing fast to find an answer.
He misspelled "jellyfish" in both excitement and sleepiness, instead spelling it as âjelylyfshâ but the search engine got the idea. He pinched his screen to zoom in onto an image of the bowl shape of the jellyfish, and low and behold: there was no visible brain, like you expected.
"WHERE IS IT?" He looked back at you with wide eyes.
"EXACTLY."
"Maybe they don't have a brain? They just vibe in the ocean, brainless. Like... zombies," he reasoned, sticking his arms out ahead of him, mimicking a stereotypical zombie. Most logical answer possible.
"They just..." you looked for the right words, "...bop around." You leaned back into your bed, moving from your sitting position into a sleeping position. Your eyes traced the edge of the ceiling as you thought about what jellyfish truly did.
"I wish I could be a jellyfish." He flopped his head onto your stomach, you becoming his personal pillow. His arm hung off the edge of the bed, casually swinging as he thought. "You could sting who you wanted and you don't even have to think. You just dance and float all day,â he sighed, his hands moving animatedly as he spoke, and you hummed in agreement.
You loved this "free" and "silly" side of Oikawa: something you saw the most past 2am. He had always worried about being perfect during the day, around his fangirls, classmates, and such, and while he still had fun, he wasn't as carefree. Maybe that was why you wanted to stay up later.
âWho decided that âgen z' was known as âgen z'?" you voiced. It was just on your mind, and Kuroo blinked at you, squinting his eyes because he had trouble keeping them open. "Like... did we all just collectively decide on that?"
"You're still awake?" he asked. You nodded, clearly wide-eyed.
Sleep was not one of your intentions; you just wanted to know why "gen z" was "gen z," and who had decided on it. It couldn't just be an overnight decision if everyone in the world referred to your generation as "gen z."
"Go to sleep," he muttered, his voice small and raspy with sleepiness. He trapped you with his leg, pulling you closer as he tried to pull you into sleep as well. He tucked his nose into your shoulder, mumbling other thoughts incoherently.
"But who decided?" you pressed.
"I don't know, but we can find out in the morning." You groaned: you needed to know now rather than in the morning.
"It's already morning," you reasoned. You gestured to your clock, ticking away on the wall, which flashed "3am" to back you up.
"Technically yeah, but 3am is still considered night for many, since people go to sleep at this time." His eyes were closed, but his mouth kept moving, which you somehow found attractive.
"Tetsurouuuu, I need to know." You pouted, but he couldn't see, of course, since his eyes were closed.
"You'll know... in the morning." You huffed. "Sleep."
"Why are hippos purple in like little kids's books?" Bokuto asked randomly, and you hummed.
"That's why I'm saying!" You talked with wide hand gestures. "What about elephants, why are they blue? Both are gray, anyways." He nodded eagerly in agreement. "Why do you ask?" He looked at you proudly before sticking a piece of paper in your face.
"I'm coloring!" Bokuto cheered, and you grasped the paper he shoved into you. It looked like something straight out of a kindergartener's homework. It was like a safari of colors if it was on a paper.
"You're coloring... at three in the morning?" He looked to the wall clock, confirming that it was indeed three am.
"I guess so." He shrugged, as if coloring some printable coloring page from the internet was more important than sleep.
"Can I join you?" You smiled, and he grinned back even wider.
"Of course!" He handed you some blue for the skies, and the two of you got to work.
The crayon compared to Bokuto's hand was tiny, and you were surprised to see how carefully and gracefully he was able to fill out the lines of animals. Impressive.
bonus: tsukishima
"Why do donuts have hol-" you started, but Tsukishima put one hand out blindly to cover your mouth.
"Sleep."
"Okay." There was no arguing with Tsukki.

Merry Meet!
So, I am climbing up on my soapbox today. I see it asked all the time: "where do I start?"
And every answer seems the same: Research!
Great! But what does that mean? How and where do I research?? ... Starting out in The Craft is both easy and extremely challenging. Prior to the internet, research meant knowing or hoping to randomly meet other Practioners who could guide you. Or, if you were brave, checking a local library. At that point, starting was hard because getting access to information was hard.
Now we have the internet. And the problem exists in reverse. There is now SO much info available that it can be overwhelming at times. It certainly was for my nerodivergent brain. So I have typed up a "brief" summary of my process so that mayhap it will help others::
Research research research! There is so much out there and it can be so overwhelming. How i personally suggest you start? First, accept that you dont need fancy tools and ingredients to be a successful Witch You are enough as you are.
From a research aspect:
1. Look up the major types of spell work. (Candle, Kitchen, Jar, Offering, Sigils, Simmer Pots, Intention Spells, Oils, Sachets, Sprays, etc). This will give you an idea just how broad actual Craft and spellwork can be. Also, it will strike some examples of what to research and give you an idea what you will be most interested in. For example, I primarily love jar spells, sigils, and simmer pots.
2. Make a list of a couple types of spells or works that interest you. Like healing, self love, cord cuttings, etc. This will give you a list to work of to then build your research plan/database.
PLEASE NOTE, I PERSONALLY RECCOMEND THAT YOU DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY OF THESE SPELLS YET. I AM SUGGESTING YOU MAP THIS ALL OUT SO YOU HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE BREADTH OF THE CRAFT. It will also help you decide what kind of Crafter you will likely be. Personally, I am eclectic, and grey with very white leanings. I am not actually Wiccan, though the Wiccan aspect plays a huge role in my Craft.
Huge massive tip in looking stuff up? Using google or your fav search engine, type "metaphysical properties of____" or "magickal/magical correspondences of____" or simply "_____ Correspondences" and you can either read the articles and links or simply look through the images section. Though not everything will have extensive info available.
3. Pick a random spell. Anything. Now RESEARCH what doing that spell would entail. This will give you an idea of what kinds of things to research and where you want to put your emphasis.
For example, I wanted to do an anti anxiety spell. So I researched that. Discovered I have a flair for sigils. Then quickly realized I am an AVID Jar spell kinda gal đ
đ So I then went searching for jar spells for anti anxiety to see what would be required. Then realized how many different ways there are to do one. Which lead me to research crystals and herbs to find what ingredients to use for what. Which lead to me making my own comprehensive hard physical copy (alphabetical, might I add) of all the herbs and plants I could find and their many uses. Did the same with crystals. Then candles and their color meanings. Which lead to color magick research.
(..... It has now been 3 years since I went looking for that anti anxiety spell and I haven't performed it yet. I HAVE found so much peace within myself as I have settled into my Craft by learning. Because remember, witchcraft is NOT always JUST about performing spells. Anyway... back on topic)
I quickly realized how much info there was out there to learn and how to go about it.
Id also research the sabbats and all they entail.
Research deities for future knowledge. Though I suggest waiting on actual deity work until you are further down your path but that is a personal preference.
Research cleansing types and methods.
At the end of the day, your path and your Craft is your own. Follow your intuition and instincts. Follow your heart and soul. And do as much as you can to research something before casting. Google is your friend. Also, i have a list of books. If you want it, just as a place to start, let me know :)
Once you start spell craft, I found it easiest to start with Sigils, once I got the hang of those, I moved on to simmer pots and candle magick (easiest ingredients to get ahold of for me). After getting comfortable with those, I moved on to Offering Spells. Then Jar Spells. I have more or less stopped there in my actual spell progression, as I have found I excel at and greatly enjoy Jar Spells. I have also ventured into oil rollers, sprays, sachets, etc. And I occasionally do rituals, like cord cuttings or ritual baths, but have not overly ventured in those directions. As such, I research as needed for those types of spells.
Shadow work and observing the Sabbats were also a huge learning opportunity for me.
People always say "do your shadow work" and it took me forever to realize they mean working on yourself. Facing your inner demons. Accepting your faults and working to correct those you can. Accepting yourself for who you are and learning to love yourself and be happy with who you are.
Researching the Sabbats and how the many cultures celebrate and honor them gave me another way to research and learn and then work that new knowledge into my craft. People jump over a fire during Beltane. Why? There is a good research topic for you. Yellow flowers, why are they important in the spring? Why are apples associated with fertility. What kinds of activities are engaged in for Samhain? Why?
And along the way of these activities and researching, you will find yourself learning things that can help you elsewhere. Like learning about the color green and its importance at Beltane will later help you in health and fertility spells.
I think I started actually performing spells about 1/4 of my way through all this research. Once I had a good enough basis to understand the materials I was working with and knew my energy and magic enough to feel comfortable and confident in my workings.
I still perform lots of research regularly, but have reached a comfort zone in my Craft where I don't do big things every day, or even every week, but I work my craft in in little ways, sometimes even unconsciously. I have found I am happy, comfortable, confident and at peace with my self and the life I live. And a stable and reliable Craft is a great addition to that peace, if not outright the building blocks for it in my case.
My inbox is open if anyone has questions. Wants to chat. Wants a new witchy friend. Etc. As a Polyamorous, Pansexual, Christian Druidic Mother and Wife who is 420 friendly...... I am an open book with nothing to hide and virtually no judgement left in my brain. I don't care who you are. Do no harm, take no shit and we will be a-okay :)
